- 0:00Here's every recipe Jordan should know
- 0:01before he's on his own. Today, it's
- 0:03Filipino bistek because he can't live on
- 0:05ramen and frozen pizza forever. Beef
- 0:07steak.

- 0:13>> Start with thinly sliced beef, add fresh
- 0:15calamansi juice, soy sauce, [music]
- 0:16garlic, and black pepper. Mix it up and
- 0:18let it marinate for at least an hour.
- 0:20Drain the beef before cooking, that way
- 0:21we'll get a nice sear. And save that
- 0:23marinade. Brown your thickly cut onion
- 0:25rings and set them aside. Now, sear the
- 0:26beef in batches and remove it from the
- 0:28pan. Next, brown some garlic, pour in
- 0:30the marinade along with soy sauce,
- 0:31calamansi juice, and water. I like
- 0:33adding a little sugar. I know some of
- 0:35you won't agree with that, so tell me,
- 0:36does sugar belong in bistek or not? Boil
- 0:38and reduce the sauce, add the beef back
- 0:40in and let it cook for another 10
- 0:41minutes. Add the onions, [music] give
- 0:42everything a good toss, and that's one
- 0:44more recipe Jordan will know when he's
- 0:46on his own.
