6. 0:26and the wisdom of the lord speaks to us
7. 0:28after this manner and it says
8. 0:31faithful
9. 0:33are the wombs of a friend
10. 0:37but the kisses of an enemy
11. 0:40are deceitful
12. 0:43i'm going to say that again
13. 0:45faithful
14. 0:46are the wounds of a friend
15. 0:50but the kisses of an enemy
16. 0:53are deceitful
17. 0:56tonight i want to teach on the subject
18. 0:58faithful wounds
19. 1:01faithful wounds let's pray spirit of the
20. 1:03living god fought fresh in this place
21. 1:05tonight as we deliberate the texts and
22. 1:08begin to understand in our own spirit
23. 1:11and extract
24. 1:13from the complexities of the text the
25. 1:15nourishment that is necessary for us to
26. 1:17better understand our god and our walk
27. 1:19with him
28. 1:20thank you for those that are joining us
29. 1:22online from near and far away who have
30. 1:25certified set aside and sanctified this
31. 1:28time that they may feed their souls and
32. 1:31grow and be edified i pray even for
33. 1:34those that are online if there's any
34. 1:36voices of distraction that they might be
35. 1:38muted that we might hear
36. 1:40what the spirit of the lord is saying to
37. 1:42the church don't allow anybody to
38. 1:45distract us from this opportunity to
39. 1:48receive your word so we got our plate
40. 1:50out and we got our fork and our knife
41. 1:51and our spoon and the master says come
42. 1:54and dine
43. 1:56oh come and dine the master calleth come
44. 1:59and dine
45. 2:01and in the spirit of consumption we now
46. 2:04consume this word in jesus name
47. 2:08shout a man
48. 2:10you may be seated in the presence of god
49. 2:14in continuation of the theme that we
50. 2:16started talking about uh on sunday
51. 2:19and we begin to make the distinction
52. 2:21between trusting god and praising god
53. 2:25uh one was a verb and the other one was
54. 2:29a noun the sum to praising god is
55. 2:31something that you do
56. 2:33trusting god is a position that you take
57. 2:35i am i trust you
58. 2:37i trust you i don't try to trust you i
59. 2:40trust you i didn't try to trust the
60. 2:42chair i just trusted it hallelujah you
61. 2:46don't you don't make yourself trust you
62. 2:48just trust you can't in fact you can't
63. 2:50make yourself trust when you don't trust
64. 2:52a person you can't make yourself
65. 2:55trust them
66. 2:56however the person
67. 2:58can cause you to trust them
68. 3:01and in order for them to
69. 3:03create trust they have to be consistent
70. 3:06and if they are consistent long enough
71. 3:09they will turn your distrust
72. 3:12to trust
73. 3:13and we are learning to trust god
74. 3:16and the reason that we're learning to
75. 3:17trust god is because we are the friends
76. 3:20of god say i am a friend of god
77. 3:24when you say i am a friend of god you're
78. 3:25saying i believe him
79. 3:27abraham believed god and therefore he
80. 3:29became the friend of god
81. 3:32god cannot befriend people who do not
82. 3:35believe him
83. 3:36okay and say it again i am a friend of
84. 3:38god
85. 3:40that means that if i am a friend of god
86. 3:42he is a friend of mine
87. 3:44he is my friend
88. 3:46jesus is my friend jesus is my savior
89. 3:49jesus is my lord but we also
90. 3:52are friends the text tonight suggests
91. 3:56that he that you can have a friend
92. 4:00who hurts you
93. 4:03yeah
94. 4:04you can have a friend who hurts you
95. 4:07and there have been times and moments in
96. 4:08my life
97. 4:09that that god has heard me
98. 4:12yeah he has hurt me
99. 4:14i've been smitten at the hip joint like
100. 4:16jacob
101. 4:17i've left the mountain with a limp
102. 4:19i've gone through something that was
103. 4:21painful and difficult to endure
104. 4:24that's when i had to trust him and not
105. 4:27just believe him
106. 4:29come on come on somebody
107. 4:31i had to trust him i went to a dark dark
108. 4:34dark place in my life
109. 4:36and and all i could do oh i couldn't see
110. 4:39my way out of it i couldn't see i would
111. 4:41get out of it but i told god god i trust
112. 4:44you
113. 4:45that if you have allowed me to go
114. 4:47through this dark place in my life that
115. 4:50it must be for my good
116. 4:52because i know you are not against me i
117. 4:56know that you are for me and even though
118. 4:58this hurts me
119. 5:00faithful are the wounds
120. 5:02of a friend
121. 5:04if i'm really your friend i gotta be
122. 5:06able to tell you the truth
123. 5:10it may strain the relationship but i've
124. 5:12got to be able to tell you the truth
125. 5:14if i'm really your friend i won't let
126. 5:16you come out the house looking silly
127. 5:19i if i'm really your friend i'm going to
128. 5:22tell you you know i don't normally say
129. 5:24this to you but that don't look good on
130. 5:25you
131. 5:26that's not your best look that's it this
132. 5:28is not your best day and maybe you
133. 5:30shouldn't wear that now if you override
134. 5:31that this is your business but i'm i'm
135. 5:33gonna say that if i'm really your friend
136. 5:36if i'm really your friend i'ma say you
137. 5:38spoke out to turn to him that wasn't his
138. 5:39fault that was your fault if i'm really
139. 5:41your friend a friend take risks
140. 5:46a real friend takes risk of your scorn
141. 5:50and that's why you can't have a whole
142. 5:52lot of friends i know you think
143. 5:53everybody who follows you on facebook is
144. 5:55your friends but you can't have a lot of
145. 5:57friends because it takes work to be a
146. 5:59friend
147. 6:00it takes energy to be a friend you have
148. 6:03to put things on the line to be a friend
149. 6:04you have to get in the fight with them
150. 6:06and and sometimes you got to argue with
151. 6:08them sometimes you got to wrestle with
152. 6:09them to get them to the place that they
153. 6:11can see and sometimes they get hurt and
154. 6:13you're yelling at each other and then
155. 6:15you're crying and you're going through
156. 6:16all kinds of changes from real
157. 6:18relationship takes work
158. 6:20but if you're really my friend you would
159. 6:22never
160. 6:23uh
161. 6:24hurt me for the sake of hurting me
162. 6:28you might wound me to protect me
163. 6:31if you have a child you might push the
164. 6:34child out of the way and they skinned
165. 6:36their knee on the sidewalk but you saw a
166. 6:39car coming
167. 6:41i didn't push you because i'm mean i
168. 6:43push you because you're in danger and
169. 6:45before i let the car hit you i'd skin
170. 6:48your knee up yes i pushed you knocked
171. 6:50you over you sketch your knee but i
172. 6:52stopped you from something coming after
173. 6:54you
174. 6:54and every now and then in order to stop
175. 6:56you from something that's coming after
176. 6:58you god will let you skin your knee
177. 7:01and you say oh god if you love me you
178. 7:03wouldn't push me no i love you so much i
179. 7:05pushed you
180. 7:09i loved you so much that i wanted you
181. 7:12when the text says faithful all the
182. 7:14wounds of a friend it means that i love
183. 7:16you so much that if i have to push you
184. 7:19if i have to hurt you if i have to
185. 7:21disappoint you if i have to see you cry
186. 7:23for a little while i'd rather you cry
187. 7:25for a little while then ruin yourself
188. 7:27for eternity because i am your friend
189. 7:30so you might not like my actions but you
190. 7:33will appreciate my intentions
191. 7:37are you hearing what i'm saying to you
192. 7:39uh upstairs we were talking about the
193. 7:40difference between incidents and
194. 7:42outcomes
195. 7:44and sometimes we in the incident become
196. 7:47so glued to the incident that we don't
197. 7:50understand the outcome
198. 7:52that sometimes the incident requires
199. 7:55that god
200. 7:56wound us on the short term
201. 7:59that we can be blessed on the long term
202. 8:02sometimes it's like when you go for uh
203. 8:05therapy they'll take you to a painful
204. 8:07place
205. 8:08that you have built walls up to avoid
206. 8:11because your avoidance is not healing
207. 8:13it's just hiding
208. 8:16and so when they start going to you say
209. 8:17i don't want to talk about that i don't
210. 8:19want to think about that i don't
211. 8:20remember that i put that out of mine no
212. 8:21no no no no no no we got to talk about
213. 8:24that i don't like to talk about that
214. 8:25because it makes me cry but it's going
215. 8:26to be necessary to excavate the poison
216. 8:30that's down in your spirit that's toxic
217. 8:33that's making you depressed and suicidal
218. 8:35and so i'll wound you in this therapy so
219. 8:39that i can heal you wounds and healings
220. 8:41have something in common
221. 8:43for the bible said by his stripes
222. 8:48by his stripes we are healed so wounds
223. 8:50and healing have something in common as
224. 8:53odd as it is you wouldn't think that god
225. 8:55would use wounds to heal you
226. 8:58but the bible said by his stripes we are
227. 9:00healed
228. 9:02and so he tells you that the price of
229. 9:04true healing is wounding
230. 9:07so if he really loves you he wounds you
231. 9:10for a short time
232. 9:12that he can have you for a lifetime
233. 9:15okay
234. 9:15incidents versus outcomes and so if the
235. 9:18incident is wounding it doesn't matter
236. 9:21if the outcome is healing
237. 9:24if they do surgery i'm gonna keep going
238. 9:26till you get it if they do surgery and
239. 9:28you got cancer and they say we've got
240. 9:30cancer on your kidney and we believe we
241. 9:32can cut out the cancer and save the
242. 9:34kidney so they
243. 9:36they put you up under anesthesia and
244. 9:38they wound you that they might heal you
245. 9:41now then they come on they say the
246. 9:43surgery was successful and you're all in
247. 9:45pain and you're all swollen and you're
248. 9:47you're hurting but faithful are the
249. 9:49wounds
250. 9:50oh come on come on come on come on
251. 9:52faithful are the wounds of a friend so
252. 9:55if you didn't get the surgery the cancer
253. 9:58would have eaten up the kidney
254. 10:00so maybe you wouldn't have been wounded
255. 10:01but you would have been dead
256. 10:04come on
257. 10:05so so you got to understand that
258. 10:07sometimes when you ask god to heal you
259. 10:09he wounds you
260. 10:12because faithful are the wounds of a
261. 10:14friend
262. 10:16in life if you got a real friend a real
263. 10:18friend will confront you
264. 10:20you're doing it again
265. 10:23there you go again with your mouth
266. 10:25i mean a real friend will get in your
267. 10:27face that takes work that takes the
268. 10:29energy that takes labor it's easier to
269. 10:32be nice and say what you want to hear
270. 10:34and get away from the moment but it
271. 10:37doesn't have a great outcome
272. 10:39it avoids an incident but it doesn't
273. 10:42have a great outcome
274. 10:43and sometimes too many people around us
275. 10:46are too weak
276. 10:48to have an incident
277. 10:50and they'll let you go ahead and be hit
278. 10:53by the car because they don't want to
279. 10:54get on your nerve well you're not really
280. 10:56a friend because a real friend will
281. 10:58wound you in the incident so that you
282. 11:01can be healed
283. 11:03in the outcome
284. 11:04so tonight we're talking about faithful
285. 11:06wounds and we're understanding that when
286. 11:09god got ready to heal the world
287. 11:11from the sin that it had ingested
288. 11:14that he sent his son to the cross to be
289. 11:17wounded we also understand that when
290. 11:20thomas was doubting and did not believe
291. 11:23it was not jesus presence that caused
292. 11:25him to believe it was jesus wounds that
293. 11:28caused him to be healed jesus said reach
294. 11:30hither your hand into my side and feel
295. 11:33the nail prints in my hands and be not
296. 11:35faithless but believe for faithful
297. 11:39are the wounds of a friend and when
298. 11:42thomas felt its rules he fell down said
299. 11:44my lord and my god because faithful are
300. 11:48the wounds
301. 11:50of a friend
302. 11:52faithful wounds and i was going through
303. 11:54this test and i was crying out to god
304. 11:56and and i couldn't even find faith to to
305. 11:59to to believe him and rebuke the devil
306. 12:03and rebuke him with whatever it was
307. 12:04because i wasn't even sure it was the
308. 12:05devil i knew that if it happened god
309. 12:08allowed it
310. 12:10and and so i had to rely on my
311. 12:13foundation
312. 12:14of trust
313. 12:16that i know that god is for me
314. 12:21and so even if he wounds me i said i
315. 12:24don't like this card i went out in the
316. 12:26back i told him i don't like this god i
317. 12:28don't like this at all i don't like the
318. 12:29way it makes me feel i don't like what
319. 12:31i'm going through i don't like being
320. 12:32threatened i don't like being
321. 12:33intimidated i don't like what's on the
322. 12:35line i don't like none of it i don't
323. 12:37like none of it
324. 12:38but
325. 12:41i trust you
326. 12:43that's why it's important that somebody
327. 12:45teach about trust
328. 12:46because we teach about praise and we
329. 12:48teach about faith but we don't teach
330. 12:50about trust i trust you that if you
331. 12:53allow this to happen to me it's going to
332. 12:55come out for my good can i go deeper
333. 12:59job understood that if god allowed his
334. 13:02crops to burn up his wife to pour his
335. 13:05breath his finances to be disrupted and
336. 13:08even his children to be dead he still
337. 13:12believed and trusted god that at the end
338. 13:15of it his outcome would be better than
339. 13:18his incident somebody right now is going
340. 13:21through an incident that is quite
341. 13:23painful but i'm telling you that if you
342. 13:25trust god the outcome will be greater
343. 13:30than the incident
344. 13:33so the text is saying to us tonight
345. 13:35faithful are the wounds of a friend
346. 13:38and deceitful
347. 13:41are the kisses of an enemy
348. 13:43the kisses of an enemy are deceitful
349. 13:47judas betrayed jesus with a
350. 13:51uh there we go he betrayed him with the
351. 13:53kiss so people who are carnal doesn't
352. 13:56necessarily mean that you are sinful it
353. 13:58just means that you take things on the
354. 14:00very surface level you go by what you
355. 14:03see you go by how you feel you go about
356. 14:06what you can touch that's carnality
357. 14:08carnality where we get carnivorous means
358. 14:11meat you are controlled by the flesh
359. 14:13senses
360. 14:14people who are controlled by flesh
361. 14:16senses have a tendency to buy into
362. 14:19kisses
363. 14:23but just because somebody kissed you
364. 14:26doesn't mean you can trust them
365. 14:31because deceitful are the kisses of an
366. 14:34enemy
367. 14:36judas identifies jesus
368. 14:39with a
369. 14:40kiss and so people who are carnal will
370. 14:44will cleave to judas
371. 14:47and and say look oh that's my friend
372. 14:50never understanding that the kiss does
373. 14:53not is not the equivalent of
374. 14:56love love
375. 14:59gets tough
376. 15:02love gets dirty
377. 15:05love gets stressful
378. 15:08love creates tension
379. 15:11you wrestle with somebody you love
380. 15:14if i don't love you i'll ignore you i'll
381. 15:16go around you i don't have to be
382. 15:17bothered with you i don't have time to
383. 15:18deal with that get on out of my face but
384. 15:20when it when it's somebody i love i
385. 15:22can't i can't go around it i got to
386. 15:24confront this we gotta have it out we
387. 15:26gotta fight about this we gotta talk
388. 15:27about this we gotta wrestle about this
389. 15:29because i love you and i got too much
390. 15:31invested on the line to let you go down
391. 15:33that's running out you don't see much of
392. 15:35that anymore but real love will get its
393. 15:38hands dirty
394. 15:39anybody who says they love you will get
395. 15:41their hands dirty before they'll let you
396. 15:43go off a cliff
397. 15:45you can't say that you love me and see
398. 15:48me destroying myself and not confront me
399. 15:51because you're more concerned about
400. 15:53being nice than you are about me being
401. 15:55healed you got to get up in my mug and
402. 15:58say wait a minute you about to mess this
403. 16:01whole thing up
404. 16:05what i'm talking about is trusting god
405. 16:08when it hurts
406. 16:10what do you think trust is all about i
407. 16:13don't need to trust him in a promotion i
408. 16:16need to trust him in in a downturning in
409. 16:19a layoff in a crisis and a problem i
410. 16:21need to trust him when i don't
411. 16:24understand his method i trust his
412. 16:27outcome in the short run i'm in pain in
413. 16:31the long run my kidney no longer has
414. 16:34cancer
415. 16:35in the short run
416. 16:37abraham takes his son isaac upon the
417. 16:40mountain and offers him up but in the
418. 16:42long run he says me and the lad will
419. 16:45come back again
420. 16:48if you're going to have a real
421. 16:49relationship with god you must be taught
422. 16:53about faithful wounds
423. 16:56tonight let's go deeper let's go to the
424. 16:59book of rev to the gospel of saint john
425. 17:01chapter 15 verse 1 through 9. go to the
426. 17:04gospel of saint john chapter 15 verse
427. 17:061-9 and i want you to look at it i don't
428. 17:08want you to take my word for it i want
429. 17:09you to look at it because i use the word
430. 17:11relationship somebody say relationship
431. 17:14so point number one is going to be about
432. 17:16relationship okay and and let me tell
433. 17:19you something
434. 17:20if you don't get better at relationship
435. 17:24you can't get better at god
436. 17:28you can get better at religion and not
437. 17:30get better at relationship and lose
438. 17:33sight of the power of god
439. 17:35there are people who are very proficient
440. 17:37at religion they know how to administer
441. 17:40sacraments they know which catholic to
442. 17:42wear they know what all the elements
443. 17:44mean they know all the rituals and the
444. 17:46routines they know how to set up the
445. 17:48table for the first sunday they know
446. 17:49that thursday night is women's night
447. 17:51they know all of the stuff about
448. 17:53religion
449. 17:54but little about relationship
450. 17:58they don't understand relationship let's
451. 18:00get away from the spiritual let's go
452. 18:01natural for a minute since you don't
453. 18:03understand me there are people who will
454. 18:05have sex with you
455. 18:09and they love to have sex
456. 18:12but they don't love to relate to you
457. 18:15and sooner or later lust gets empty
458. 18:18because the soul craves love
459. 18:21oh y'all y'all ain't gonna act like you
460. 18:23know what i'm talking about just stand
461. 18:25there and stare at me with your phony
462. 18:27self because you know exactly what i'm
463. 18:29talking about but you're too religious
464. 18:31to admit that you understand the words
465. 18:34that are coming out of my house and you
466. 18:36can't sit here and be phony because i
467. 18:37will call you out
468. 18:39in front of god and everybody
469. 18:44you understand the difference between
470. 18:46lust and love
471. 18:49people who don't understand that
472. 18:51substitute more sex to compensate for
473. 18:56the lack of love sooner or later they
474. 18:59might be 30 might be 40 might be 50
475. 19:01might be 60 but sooner or later you
476. 19:04begin to recognize that more sex does
477. 19:07not equate to more love
478. 19:10and after a while you get tired of
479. 19:12people handling you
480. 19:15they're just handling you oh come on
481. 19:17they're just handling you they're just
482. 19:19handling you and at first you think that
483. 19:20if they handle you they like you
484. 19:23but deceitful are the kisses of an enemy
485. 19:25and sooner or later you begin to
486. 19:27understand that you handling me does not
487. 19:29equate to loving me
488. 19:33and you begin to know
489. 19:35what relationship is all about
490. 19:38now relationship needs to be dealt with
491. 19:40and i don't know how far i get to this i
492. 19:42may have to do this in two sections but
493. 19:44relationship needs to be described
494. 19:46because
495. 19:47most of this current generation is
496. 19:50having a better relationship with their
497. 19:53phone than they are with people
498. 19:55[Applause]
499. 20:00because technology has replaced us
500. 20:04you don't have to worry about jews
501. 20:06replacing you or blacks replacing you or
502. 20:08browns replacing you machines are
503. 20:10replacing you
504. 20:15all you got to do is look around your
505. 20:17dinner table and look at all your kids
506. 20:19sitting there playing with their phone
507. 20:20and nobody's talking to each other if
508. 20:23they do they text each other wait wait
509. 20:25wait wait what happened to your mouth
510. 20:28and so when we enter into things like
511. 20:31relationship we don't have a context for
512. 20:34relationship
513. 20:36because we are the generation that was
514. 20:39left home alone with machines
515. 20:43and machines became our babysitter
516. 20:47and machines became our pacifier
517. 20:50and machines became our entertainment if
518. 20:53you don't believe it look at how much
519. 20:55time you scroll through instagram just
520. 20:57scrolling
521. 20:58looking at people doing silly stuff i
522. 21:00know when you can't say amen say ouch
523. 21:03and all the time you're scrolling
524. 21:05through instagram you're ignoring
525. 21:07somebody in the house
526. 21:10to look at somebody you don't even know
527. 21:16you're ignoring somebody who cares about
528. 21:20you to look at somebody who ain't
529. 21:22thinking about you
530. 21:24you lose your ability to communicate
531. 21:26with people because the seduction of the
532. 21:29telephone is designed in such a way that
533. 21:33the longer you're on it the more money
534. 21:36they make
535. 21:39and you don't realize that this is a
536. 21:41type of lust
537. 21:45and you never even noticed it because
538. 21:47the phone raised you
539. 21:50because we lived in a generation in an
540. 21:53era where our parents went to work
541. 21:57the tv and the machines
542. 22:00became our babysitter
543. 22:04i could go deeper but y'all couldn't
544. 22:05handle it
545. 22:07okay
546. 22:08so then when we come up for air and try
547. 22:10to have a relationship
548. 22:12we don't know how to have a relationship
549. 22:14because people don't respond to us like
550. 22:16computers do
551. 22:19you can't just block me and i'm in the
552. 22:21house
553. 22:23you can't just hit a button and shut me
554. 22:25up i'm gonna say what i'm gonna say
555. 22:28whether you want to hear it or not
556. 22:34you can't delete your child
557. 22:36[Applause]
558. 22:41so when you take computer skills and
559. 22:44bring them into human relationships
560. 22:47the marriage fails the family falls
561. 22:50apart the kids are terminated
562. 22:52everybody's isolated because you have
563. 22:55never had the model of what it means to
564. 22:58struggle through relationship and the
565. 23:00moment it's not romantic you get out
566. 23:03because you don't think that you could
567. 23:05be friends with somebody who wounded you
568. 23:10but if you don't learn how to be friends
569. 23:12with somebody who wounded you you can't
570. 23:14be a friend of god
571. 23:17because god said pick up your cross and
572. 23:19follow me
573. 23:21if you're really my disciple i'm gonna
574. 23:23take you through some painful places and
575. 23:26i don't expect you to give up on me just
576. 23:28because the going gets rough and the
577. 23:30going gets tough you don't get to cut me
578. 23:33off like i'm a machine
579. 23:36oh come on come on come on come on come
580. 23:38on we're going to get into this
581. 23:40and so what you have to understand is
582. 23:42relationship relationship means what is
583. 23:45the premise to which we relate
584. 23:49i i i am related
585. 23:53i am related what is what is the thing
586. 23:56through which we relate determines how
587. 23:58well we relate i wish i had time to go
588. 24:01deeper
589. 24:02for example sometimes the way we relate
590. 24:05to people is through pain
591. 24:07so if you're in the midst of rejection
592. 24:10and i'm in the midst of rejection and we
593. 24:12end up in a relationship you don't
594. 24:14understand the thing that we relate to
595. 24:16is the problem and when we get well we
596. 24:19have no premise of relationship because
597. 24:21i've fallen in love with my nurse
598. 24:26and the biggest attraction was that you
599. 24:28needed me and as long as you were on
600. 24:30cocaine you needed me and i need to be
601. 24:32needed and i fell in love with you
602. 24:35because you were feeding my need to be
603. 24:37needed which made me feel significant
604. 24:39and now that you're well i don't know
605. 24:41how anything to relate to you
606. 24:45so if you tell me me and this guy here
607. 24:47are related and they say how are we
608. 24:49related i say he's my second cousin
609. 24:52there has to be something that causes us
610. 24:54to be related or we're not related that
611. 24:57is the root word of relationship is what
612. 25:00causes us to be related
613. 25:02without relationship we cannot obey the
614. 25:06biggest and first command that god gave
615. 25:10us in scripture which was to be
616. 25:14fruitful
617. 25:16and you can't be fruitful
618. 25:19without relationship
619. 25:21so everybody except the mother mary who
620. 25:24got pregnant had
621. 25:26a they had a relationship so don't come
622. 25:30tell them you fell asleep up under the
623. 25:31cabbage patch and now the cabbage has
624. 25:34jumped in your stomach no girl get out
625. 25:36of here with this you had a relationship
626. 25:38why i can tell there's fruit there
627. 25:41wouldn't be fruit without seed and if
628. 25:43there's seed somebody had a relationship

631. 25:51so when jesus begins to summarize his
632. 25:55time on earth with his disciples the
633. 25:58first thing he talks to them about is
634. 26:00relationship because he's getting ready
635. 26:03to go away
636. 26:04they need to understand that they are
637. 26:06related to him more than physical
638. 26:09proximity
639. 26:12okay now i i have been with you but i'm
640. 26:16getting ready to go away and if the only
641. 26:19way you relate to me is in the flesh
642. 26:22then when i am absent then you're not
643. 26:25going to love me it's hard to have a
644. 26:27long-distance love and in order to set
645. 26:29up the parameters for long-distance love
646. 26:32he starts in john 15 and 1 by teaching
647. 26:36them
648. 26:37somebody say relationship
649. 26:40this is bible class this is bible class

651. 26:44change your life because it will also

653. 26:47some of the problems you're having in
654. 26:49your life
655. 26:51because some of us there are no classes

660. 27:02you don't even take relationship in
661. 27:04sunday school
662. 27:07so if you didn't have relationship
663. 27:08modeled before you
664. 27:11then you can hunger for something that
665. 27:13you're not good at because you've never
666. 27:16had it modeled in front of you so if oh
667. 27:21gosh i keep going deeper i i want to go
668. 27:23wider and i'm going deeper so so it i i
669. 27:26hate to use generalization so i'll say
670. 27:28in most cases girls who grew up in an
671. 27:31environment with all women and no men
672. 27:34see men as a stranger
673. 27:37and they treat men like we are women in
674. 27:40pants
675. 27:41and they talk to men like they're women
676. 27:43and if the man doesn't respond like a
677. 27:45woman she is confused because she's
678. 27:48never had a relationship modeled in
679. 27:51front of her between a woman and a man
680. 27:56girls who are daddy's girls have a
681. 27:59greater tendency to be good wives
682. 28:02because they understand men
683. 28:05because they learned
684. 28:07in their early life how men think act
685. 28:11and communicate that doesn't mean if you
686. 28:13were raised by a woman you can't end up
687. 28:15a good wife it may mean that you might
688. 28:18have to have a lot of conversations to
689. 28:21process differently because you have
690. 28:24never had to process with the opposite
691. 28:26sex because we don't in case you notice
692. 28:29or not there's more differences in us
693. 28:31than biological we don't think alike
694. 28:37i'm gonna have to buy me an amen let me

696. 28:40twenty dollar twenty dollars for an a
697. 28:42man twenty dollars for a quick amen okay
698. 28:47we don't think a lot and when we try to
699. 28:48understand each other we get angry with
700. 28:51each other because the man thinks if i
701. 28:54if i was in that situation i would not
702. 28:56respond like that you are not her
703. 29:01just the same thing that was true in the
704. 29:02opposite direction if you didn't grow up
705. 29:05with a strong relationship with your
706. 29:07mother
707. 29:08sometimes your anger at your mother
708. 29:10comes out at your wife
709. 29:15so when a man and a woman come together
710. 29:17in a relationship
711. 29:19both of us are judging each other based
712. 29:22on our psychological perspective our
713. 29:24point of view says i would never talk to
714. 29:27you like that i would never do you like
715. 29:29that i would never say that i would
716. 29:31never not talk to you i would never be
717. 29:33as quiet as you are what so they keep
718. 29:35saying what's wrong with you
719. 29:37what's the matter with you how come
720. 29:40you're not talking
721. 29:42it might be because
722. 29:44i don't have anything to say
723. 29:47and there might not be anything wrong at
724. 29:49all
725. 29:50but if your normal is chatter
726. 29:53my silence is offensive
727. 29:58by the same token if i am used to sign
728. 30:02silence and only saying specific things
729. 30:05about specific issues your chatter can
730. 30:07be irritating
731. 30:09because you're going on and on and on
732. 30:12and on and on about nothing i don't care
733. 30:15about the traffic on your way home and
734. 30:17you start to get some peas and there was
735. 30:19no peas and krogers and you end up going
736. 30:21to wendy's and stingray wendy's hunt for
737. 30:23daddy just give me the frosty and let's
738. 30:25go on

744. 30:42common ground

746. 30:46that faithful are the wounds

758. 31:22it is a reflection of the old testament
759. 31:25scripture where israel was the old vine
760. 31:28of the old testament anytime christ says
761. 31:31i am the true there has to be an
762. 31:34illegitimate in order for there to be a
763. 31:36legitimate
764. 31:38so christ says i am the true vine
765. 31:41the vine you had in the old testament
766. 31:43was just a shadow of which i am the
767. 31:45reality so you i can cast my my wife
768. 31:48loves me but she can't hug my shadow
769. 31:53and she said i'm trying she's crazy
770. 31:57she can't hug my shadow she can't hold
771. 31:59my shadow she can't keep my shadow so
772. 32:02the shadows of the old testament is not
773. 32:04that they were liars but they came as
774. 32:06schoolmasters to teach us of the truth
775. 32:09of the new testament and jesus here says
776. 32:12i am the true vine and my father is the
777. 32:16husbandman now husbandman is an old is a
778. 32:20biblical word that means gardener
779. 32:22my my father is the gardener what do i
780. 32:26get out of that first of all i get i
781. 32:28have been planted
782. 32:32i'm not an accident i'm not an incident
783. 32:34i'm not a mistake
784. 32:35i with great intentionality i have been
785. 32:38planted even if my father even even if
786. 32:41my father and mother didn't intend for
787. 32:43me to be here god intended for me to be
788. 32:46here because god the father is the
789. 32:49husbandman i have been planted i am not
790. 32:51an accident i'm not a mistake i have
791. 32:54been planted at a particular time in a
792. 32:56particular way in a particular way god
793. 32:58didn't intend for me to be here in the
794. 33:001800s or i would have been here in the
795. 33:021800s he didn't intend for me to be born

797. 33:06born in the 25th century we have a
798. 33:09gardener who planted us in time at a
799. 33:12particular time for a particular purpose

802. 33:24but if i plant you i have a purpose for
803. 33:27you at a particular time so when jesus
804. 33:31says my father is a husbandman i
805. 33:33immediately know that nobody plants
806. 33:36something without intention
807. 33:38go all the way back to the old testament
808. 33:41the book of genesis the first thing god
809. 33:43says is be fruitful
810. 33:47nobody plants something they don't want
811. 33:49to grow
812. 33:51so get out of your mind that god is
813. 33:53against you
814. 33:54get out of your mind that god doesn't
815. 33:56want you to be successful if the father
816. 33:58is a husband then wouldn't it be stupid
817. 34:01for you to plant something that you
818. 34:02didn't want to prosper
819. 34:08so you don't have to spend your time on
820. 34:10your knees asking god to prosper you
821. 34:15because if he planted you he wanted you
822. 34:18to prosper you don't have to feel bad
823. 34:21about prosperity because if he planted
824. 34:24you he wanted you to prosper and the
825. 34:26first thing he commanded you was to be
826. 34:29fruitful before he said be holy he said
827. 34:33be fruitful
828. 34:36oh god uh y'all want me to teach bible

830. 34:40you working on being a holy you need to
831. 34:42work on being fruitful
832. 34:50because this is the expectation of the
833. 34:52relationship you can't enter into a

842. 35:15are expectations
843. 35:17in every relationship if you got a dog
844. 35:20you got to feed it if you got a fish you
845. 35:22got to change the water sometime if you
846. 35:24got a cat you got to take it to the vet
847. 35:25sometime you can't have a thing and not
848. 35:28have an expectation
849. 35:30so stop being offended because i expect
850. 35:32something from you because that's part
851. 35:35of the relationship
852. 35:36so god has a right to expect something
853. 35:39from me because he's in a relationship
854. 35:42with me when he says give and it shall
855. 35:45be given unto you he had the right to
856. 35:47ask me to give something because he gave
857. 35:50something god so loved the world that he
858. 35:53gave his only begotten son so once you
859. 35:56said the benchmark that i surely i can
860. 35:59give you my carnal stuff because you
861. 36:01have given me your son

922. 38:40arm and jesus is saying
923. 38:43ye are the branches and i am the vine
924. 38:46and apart from me

930. 39:02and in order to have relationship

936. 39:18they put up under the boat to hold it
937. 39:20are starting to come about and the

943. 39:36but even when it fell apart everybody

951. 39:56survive the storm is stay

959. 40:13garden he wanted to separate her he

961. 40:18to give the fruit to adam because the
962. 40:20moment that adam took of the fruit he
963. 40:22was separated from god and the bible
964. 40:25said the day you eat you shall surely
965. 40:27die well he was still alive well guess

1013. 42:49what is god getting out of your

1015. 42:55if you are the only one that's getting
1016. 42:57anything out of your existence you're
1017. 42:59growing leaves
1018. 43:01but not fruit
1019. 43:03and every branch in me that beareth not
1020. 43:05fruit he purges it away he cuts it away
1021. 43:11this is called reduction
1022. 43:14so we have gone from relationship to
1023. 43:17reduction
1024. 43:18now reduction i chose the term reduction
1025. 43:21and i like the term reduction uh because
1026. 43:23i cook and reduction means that if
1027. 43:26you're making a certain sauce or a
1028. 43:29certain uh gravy or a certain uh uh uh a
1029. 43:34liquid that you may you may put onions
1030. 43:36in it and you may put garlic in it and
1031. 43:38you may put a a a little sprig of mint
1032. 43:42in it and you may let it cook down and
1033. 43:44then when it cooks down to a thickness
1034. 43:47it's called a reduction
1035. 43:49then you can remove everything out of it
1036. 43:52and then take that reduction
1037. 43:54and glaze it over your meat and the
1038. 43:56flavor of the reduction will go into the
1039. 43:59meat because it has been reduced down to
1040. 44:02a thickness that has a deeper
1041. 44:04concentration of flavor it's called a
1042. 44:07reduction and so the lower the reduction
1043. 44:10goes the more potent it becomes because
1044. 44:13of reduction so everybody's talking to
1045. 44:16you about increase but i want to talk to
1046. 44:18you about reduction because in order for
1047. 44:21you to be potent
1048. 44:22you have to go through reduction so that
1049. 44:25you can increase your potency
1050. 44:30reduction somebody shot reduction

1052. 44:36wants to talk about wounds we went
1053. 44:38through positive thinking the power
1054. 44:39positive thinking positive confession

1059. 44:48on and we're so busy talking about
1060. 44:50positivity that we don't understand that
1061. 44:53negativity is a part of any relationship
1062. 44:57so when you hit a hard place you want a
1063. 44:59divorce when you hit a hard place you
1064. 45:01want to put the kid out when you hit a
1065. 45:03hard place you don't want to be bothered
1066. 45:05with it when you hit a hard place you
1067. 45:07get rid of the dog when you get a hard
1068. 45:09place you give the cat to your sister
1069. 45:11anything that gets down to reduction
1070. 45:14you release it
1071. 45:19but in order for it to be potent it must
1072. 45:22have reduction
1073. 45:25and you say well it was reduced because
1074. 45:28it was not bearing fruit i'm bearing
1075. 45:30fruit let's keep reading he says and
1076. 45:33every branch that bear fruit he
1077. 45:36purgeth it
1078. 45:38that it may bring forth
1079. 45:41oh
1080. 45:45so here i am with my few little grapes
1081. 45:48growing on my cute little vine and i'm
1082. 45:50so proud of my little grapes and god
1083. 45:53comes along and cuts off my grapes
1084. 45:57and it comes down to this i can only
1085. 46:00stay
1086. 46:01if i trust

1088. 46:07to trust him because i didn't expect him
1089. 46:10to cut off my little fruit

1093. 46:18understand faithful wounds faithful are
1094. 46:21the wounds of a friend and if god saw
1095. 46:24fit to cut you he cut you for a reason

1097. 46:29become more intense more potent more
1098. 46:32powerful more thoughtful more wise more
1099. 46:36anointed more invigorated more motivated
1100. 46:39more powerful in your spirit

1103. 46:48hands you have to be cut sometime you
1104. 46:51have to cry sometime you have to suffer
1105. 46:54sometimes you can't get this anointing

1107. 47:00oh because this is a reduction this is a
1108. 47:03reduction you have to cut you have to
1109. 47:06bleed you have to heal but after you
1110. 47:09suffered a while

1114. 47:20reduction and you're saying where is god
1115. 47:23and you're saying my faith doesn't work
1116. 47:25my anointing doesn't work god doesn't
1117. 47:27love me god doesn't care nothing about
1118. 47:29me because if he cared anything about me
1119. 47:31he wouldn't cut me like this he cuts you
1120. 47:34because he cares
1121. 47:42he cut you so you could reach your
1122. 47:43potential
1123. 47:45he cut you so you wouldn't be satisfied
1124. 47:47with less than what he has for you he
1125. 47:50cuts you so you can be more intense he
1126. 47:52cuts you so you could be more potent he
1127. 47:54cuts you so that you can be more
1128. 47:56powerful he cuts you so he'd make a man

1130. 48:00grown woman he cut you so you'd stand up

1195. 51:14contextualization
