  7. 0:19because of Smith's false claim that a
  8. 0:22black man had kidnapped their sons
  9. 0:24during a carjacking her defense
  10. 0:27attorneys called many witnesses to
  11. 0:29testify that she had mental health
  12. 0:32issues that impaired her judgment when
  13. 0:34she committed the crimes
  14. 0:36Smith was sentenced to life in prison
  15. 0:39with the possibility of parole after 30
  16. 0:42years
  17. 0:43according to the South Carolina
  18. 0:45Department of Corrections
  19. 0:47she will be eligible for parole November
  20. 0:504th
  21. 0:512024
  22. 0:54she is currently incarcerated at the
  23. 0:57lathe Correctional Institution near
  24. 1:00Greenwood South Carolina
  25. 1:02is it possible sometime in the next year
  26. 1:05or two that she could see the light of
