3. 0:03is from Fayetteville he admitted to
4. 0:05police that he killed his pregnant wife
5. 0:07Shannon and their two young daughters in
6. 0:09a fit of rage in their home in Colorado
7. 0:11Shannon grew up in Southern Pines our
8. 0:14Josh Chapin has the powerful interview
9. 0:16between a mom and dad as they defend
10. 0:18their son it was a very hard
11. 0:21relationship and I as far as I'm
12. 0:25concerned I couldn't do anything right
13. 0:26Ronnie and Cindy watt said their son
14. 0:28Chris changed once he met Shannon he was
15. 0:31in sports from five since he was five
16. 0:35years old up until he was 17 years old
17. 0:38there's not one person that you can talk
18. 0:41to that will say anything bad about this
19. 0:44kid he was normal he wasn't he didn't
20. 0:47have a temper he was just like his dad
21. 0:50just easygoing rolls off his back goes
22. 0:53on and and this is my son he is not a
23. 0:57monster tonight they defended him though
24. 0:59they didn't want to show their faces on
25. 1:01camera this comes a week after Chris
26. 1:03pled guilty to five counts of
27. 1:05first-degree murder and three counts of
28. 1:07tampering with a deceased human body
29. 1:09Lola don't I just want the truth well

31. 1:15can live with it maybe didn't want him
32. 1:17to fight over the Watsa said their son's
33. 1:19relationship with Shannon was abusive
34. 1:21and felt she isolated Chris from his
35. 1:23family in the time they were together
36. 1:25Chris's father Ronnie says he believes
37. 1:27the initial thing Chris told police that
38. 1:29he killed his wife only after finding
39. 1:32out she had strangled their daughters
40. 1:33it's hard for me to believe he would
41. 1:36hurt them girls no matter what little
42. 1:38minute the story well he told me that
43. 1:40like I believed it the way he looked at
44. 1:43me way he was crying everything I
45. 1:44believed it the Watson said they have
46. 1:46not been able to talk much at all to
47. 1:48their son since he was arrested in
48. 1:49August they insist they didn't know
49. 1:51about a plea deal that Chris took last
50. 1:53week the old man local authorities in
51. 1:55Colorado would not seek the death
52. 1:58penalty save his life and and life in
53. 2:01prison to me there's no difference you
54. 2:04know if he's going to die in prison and
55. 2:08and and there's no telling what can be
56. 2:11what will be done to him in prison
