- 0:20>> What's up, guys? Lulu here from Blender
- 0:22Craft Studio. And today, I'm going to be
- 0:24telling you guys all everything you need
- 0:26to know about Forge. Forge isn't just
- 0:28another modeling tool.
- 0:30>> [music]
- 0:30>> Forge is bringing a trial card into
- 0:32Blender. This script is going to be
- 0:35[music] just a breakdown of what Forge
- 0:38does. I'm going to try to take less
- 0:40time. So,
- 0:42without the long story, let's get into
- 0:45the video.
- 0:46So, from right of the bat, when you
- 0:48enter Blender, when you are in Blender,
- 0:50the thing you [music] first notice is
- 0:52you have your Forge mode here.
- 0:54Basically, your card mode. Let's just
- 0:56call it that. The way you have edit
- 0:57mode, texture paint [music] mode,
- 1:00Forge mode is for card modeling. I tried
- 1:03to make Forge in a way that it feels
- 1:05like it's integrated into Blender. Like
- 1:08something the Blender developers would
- 1:11do themselves.
- 1:12>> [music]
- 1:12>> So, right of the bat, you enter and you
- 1:13see your default cube, obviously. Then,
- 1:16one thing you first notice is these
- 1:18black dots on our default cube. And what
- 1:21they are is they are snapping dots. I'll
- 1:23explain now.
- 1:24>> [music]
- 1:24>> So, if I should take my line tool, and I
- 1:26click, as you can see, we have these
- 1:28snapping rings like Plasticity.
- 1:30Forge
- 1:31takes a lot of reference from
- 1:33Plasticity. So,
- 1:35uh when we enter Forge mode, snapping is
- 1:37on by default, and we can always turn it
- 1:40off and on either through here or
- 1:42through here.
- 1:44So, when we um snap, we can snap to face
- 1:47midpoint, [music]
- 1:48we can snap to edge midpoint, and we can
- 1:50snap to edges, we can snap to faces, we
- 1:53can snap to grid, and we can snap to
- 1:56grid axis. So, those the things we can
- 1:59snap to just for ease of use. We can
- 2:01also snap to corner. When you snap to
- 2:03corner, um
- 2:04the ring disappears.
- 2:06So,
- 2:07that's it for the snapping.
- 2:09And um
- 2:11for speed, we have something called You
- 2:13have these two things here, performance
- 2:15mode and viewport quality mode. Now,
- 2:18like it says, the more you increase the
- 2:20viewpoint viewport curve quality,
- 2:23the more the higher the value, the
- 2:26chunkier the curve and the faster it
- 2:28gets. And there's also um performance
- 2:31mode. Now, what performance mode does is
- 2:33when I click it and I go to normal mode
- 2:36and I try to perform a simple fillet. As
- 2:38you can see, the fillet is being done um
- 2:42on the solid live.
- 2:43>> [music]
- 2:43>> It's being done on the solid live. Now,
- 2:45if I should turn on performance mode,
- 2:48as you can see, it's a ghost preview
- 2:50instead of a live stuff.
- 2:52>> [music]
- 2:52>> But it's still the same thing. So, we
- 2:54made Forge in in
- 2:57We made Forge while thinking of the
- 3:00people with low-end PCs in mind, people
- 3:02that
- 3:03maybe won't be able to run this or say
- 3:05especially those that do make. So,
- 3:07that's [music] why we did this.
- 3:09So, um without any long talk, let's get
- 3:12into the basics. So,
- 3:15Forge has three um
- 3:17main primitives, kind of like
- 3:18Plasticity, too, which is
- 3:20the cube, the cylinder, and the sphere.
- 3:24Now, [snorts] to add the It's pretty
- 3:25easy if you use Plasticity. You know how
- 3:27to do this.
- 3:28>> [music]
- 3:28>> So, just click on here
- 3:30and drag to to see your volume
- 3:34and drag up, then that is it. Then,
- 3:36while you do that, you can see that you
- 3:39will have like some gizmos. These
- 3:41gizmos, you can use them to, you know,
- 3:43[music] edit your
- 3:45edit your cube before you commit by
- 3:47pressing okay. You get Now, we've not
- 3:50committed, so we can still edit it
- 3:51anyhow we want. But, once we commit
- 3:54those gizmos, they go away.
- 3:56You get? So, [music]
- 3:57so, that's just it.
- 3:59The next thing is your cylinder. Your
- 4:01cylinder, you just add your base radius
- 4:04and you add your height. And here, too,
- 4:06you can increase the radius.
- 4:08And you increase [music] or decrease the
- 4:10height and commit. So, that's it for
- 4:13cylinders and cubes. [music] The next
- 4:15one is Sorry, I'm stuttering a lot,
- 4:17guys. Like I said, it's
- 4:19kind of unedited. So, I'm not putting
- 4:22any extra um I don't have any script for
- 4:24this video. So, once I increase the
- 4:26radius, I can just do this.
- 4:29And then, I press okay.
- 4:31So, that's it for cubes, cylinders, and
- 4:34spheres. So, the next thing we're going
- 4:36to be looking into now is the sketches.
- 4:39Now, mind you, I wanted to say that um
- 4:42in Forge mode, there are three modes.
- 4:44There's the solid mode, edge mode, and
- 4:46face mode. The solid mode is for the
- 4:48whole solid. Edge mode is to select
- 4:51edge, and the face mode is to select
- 4:53face. Just like how we have it in edit
- 4:56mode. The shortcut is 1 2 3.
- 4:58>> [music]
- 4:58>> So, the next thing we're going to be
- 4:59looking into in is sketch. Now, I'll try
- 5:01to brush through this one really fast.
- 5:03So, the first one is line. Line is just
- 5:05used for drawing poly lines, very easy.
- 5:08You can either draw an open loop
- 5:13or a closed loop. You get? So, that's
- 5:15just it for line. The next one we're
- 5:17going to be talking about is spline.
- 5:19Spline has two modes.
- 5:20>> [music]
- 5:21>> You can The first mode is the two-point
- 5:23mode. You can just click like this. You
- 5:25can either create an open loop or closed
- 5:28loop with spline. And when you go to
- 5:30edge mode, you'll see the vertices of
- 5:32the spline. You can select it, right
- 5:34click, and make sharp. So, you can
- 5:37either make sharp or make smooth, which
- 5:39is make tangent. And the second type of
- 5:41spline is the two-point spline. I hope
- 5:44I'm not going too fast, though.
- 5:46The second type of spline is the
- 5:48two-point spline. When you click on your
- 5:51When you click on any tool, you have to
- 5:53first of all click on your viewport,
- 5:55then you see your your snapping ring,
- 5:58and you see your um
- 5:59um side panel here. So, with this, you
- 6:03can now do can press [music] tab to
- 6:05change it to control point spline.
- 6:07This will give you that basic curve kind
- 6:10of feed. So, once you have this, that's
- 6:13just it for spline. Can move. Can move.
- 6:17So, [music]
- 6:18that's it for line and spline. Next one
- 6:20is arc. Now, arc is very easy. You click
- 6:24and you select your radius.
- 6:25>> [music]
- 6:26>> And you select your radius, can now draw
- 6:27the arc however you want.
- 6:30So, I'll just draw a 90° [music] arc
- 6:32like this, and as you can see, we have
- 6:34that.
- 6:35So, you can always select it and [music]
- 6:37just extrude like this.
- 6:40Easy to create kind of like a sheet.
- 6:42And then we can use our thicken tool
- 6:46>> [music]
- 6:46>> to increase the thickness, and boom,
- 6:48we've created a solid from an arc. So,
- 6:50>> [music]
- 6:51>> it's very easy to to stuff like that.
- 6:53The next one is circle. You can add your
- 6:55circle two ways. The first way is the
- 6:56center drag. You drag it like this for
- 6:59your center.
- 7:00And [music] the second one is when you
- 7:02want to drag it, you hold shift.
- 7:04And then you drag it from the corner.
- 7:07So, that is our
- 7:08circle tool. The next [music] one is the
- 7:11um
- 7:12box tool. Now, what this does is
- 7:14basically add box.
- 7:16The normal way is it adds from the
- 7:18corner.
- 7:19Do you get now? [music]
- 7:21The second one now is
- 7:22now adds from the center. Do you get?
- 7:26So, that's when you hold shift. So, when
- 7:28you hold shift on any sketch, is that
- 7:29you're adding it from center or from
- 7:31corner. And the last one, which is very
- 7:33[music] unique, is the polygon tool.
- 7:36When you drag it, you see your polygon.
- 7:38So, while you are dragging, can hold
- 7:40shift and then
- 7:42use your mouse scroll wheel to either
- 7:44increase or reduce the radius. Hold
- 7:48shift and your mouse scroll wheel. So,
- 7:50that is it for sketches. Those are the
- 7:53different type of sketches you can add
- 7:55in um
- 7:57in your scene. Those are different type
- 7:58of sketches you can use. And you can use
- 8:00it for anything. And there's also
- 8:02something we call um auto region. So,
- 8:04let's imagine I add a polygon here.
- 8:07I add a polygon here like this.
- 8:09>> [music]
- 8:09>> So, when I go into face mode, you can
- 8:12see I can select any region of
- 8:14>> [music]
- 8:14>> is still two different sketches. But,
- 8:17just like how Plasticity does it, when I
- 8:19[music] do that, I can select any region
- 8:21I want and I can just work with that. I
- 8:23can either extrude, revolve, [music]
- 8:26loft, anything I want to do. So, it's
- 8:29basically you can basically create a
- 8:31unique a unique
- 8:33Sorry, a unique face with it. So,
- 8:37the next thing we're going to be looking
- 8:38at now. I'm going to be taking the tool
- 8:40one by one.
- 8:41The first thing we will talk about is
- 8:43the split tool. Now, the split tool is
- 8:46quite easy to explain. It's the split
- 8:49tool adds vertices to a curve. So, we
- 8:53have this
- 8:54spline curve. I will just click here.
- 8:57And as you can see, I've added a point.
- 8:59It add vertex there. There's no vertex
- 9:00here. I'll just click here like this.
- 9:02And I've added a vertex there. So, that
- 9:05is basically the split tool. The split
- 9:07tool is very self-explanatory.
- 9:10Then, the next one is the trim tool.
- 9:13Now, this trim tool is very easy.
- 9:16So, the trim tool removes any edge in
- 9:19between two vertices. That's just it.
- 9:21So, if I click on this edge, it will
- 9:23completely remove it. Click on this
- 9:25edge, it will remove it. You get? So,
- 9:27that's basically what the trim tool
- 9:29does. And you can use it when you are
- 9:30trying to also create unique shapes, you
- 9:32know, especially with auto region.
- 9:35That's what the trim tool does. Then, we
- 9:38have [music] the cut tool. Now, this cut
- 9:39tool is quite unique to use. I'll
- 9:42explain why. So, we have this cut tool
- 9:46and let's imagine
- 9:48I want to slice this into [music] half.
- 9:51I'll just select my cut tool.
- 9:53When you select any tool, when you click
- 9:55once, you'll see your snapping ring.
- 9:57That's how we know it works. So, I'll
- 9:59just
- 10:00select I'll just
- 10:03drag from here like this. Boom, and I've
- 10:06cut my object. So, what I can just do is
- 10:09can go to object solid mode. Then, um
- 10:20I've selected one of it and I can just
- 10:22move it here.
- 10:24I can just move it here.
- 10:26You get? So, um the cut tool is for
- 10:29[music] dividing your object. So, that's
- 10:33basically what the cut tool is. So, um
- 10:36the next thing on our list is the bridge
- 10:38tool.
- 10:39Now, I'll try to um explain this one
- 10:41very simply. So, you write duplicate
- 10:43this cube and then I join [music] the
- 10:46cube together. Then, I go ahead and
- 10:49select both edges. I'll still select one
- 10:51of them.
- 10:52And then, I click [music] on the bridge
- 10:55tool.
- 10:56So, when I select this one,
- 10:57you can see that's bridged it. If I
- 11:00select these two,
- 11:02that's bridged it also. So, that's what
- 11:04that's basically what the bridge tool is
- 11:06for, bridging edges. You can also bridge
- 11:08faces to actually. That's what the
- 11:10bridge tool is for. And then, there's
- 11:12also the patch tool.
- 11:14The patch tool is for is basically fill
- 11:17in Blender. So, if I select everything
- 11:19like this,
- 11:20>> [music]
- 11:20>> I just press F for patching.
- 11:23So, that's basically it for the bridge.
- 11:26As you can see, we bridge one cube
- 11:29together. We bridge two cubes together
- 11:31actually. So, that is it for [music]
- 11:33bridge. The next thing we are going to
- 11:34be talking about is our Boolean. Now, I
- 11:37really love
- 11:39I really love Boolean a lot cuz there
- 11:41are two ways to [music] Boolean
- 11:42actually. So, let me go ahead and add a
- 11:45cube just to help us here.
- 11:48Yeah. So,
- 11:50with our cube, I can The first way to
- 11:53Boolean is when you have your object
- 11:56selected, right? When you have your
- 11:58object selected, you select either a
- 12:01sphere, a cube, or anything. In this
- 12:04case, let me use a a
- 12:06cylinder.
- 12:08So, while my object is selected, I will
- 12:09draw
- 12:11my cylinder on the object, draw my
- 12:13radius, and draw my height. And as you
- 12:15can see, it has cut
- 12:18the
- 12:19the the
- 12:20box automatically just like that even
- 12:22without me having to use any Boolean
- 12:25tool. And the other way is through
- 12:28actually drawing the cylinder, and then
- 12:31I move the cylinder close to it like
- 12:33this. So, then
- 12:35to use the Boolean, you just click on
- 12:37the Boolean, tap once to activate your
- 12:41tool, then you click on your solid, and
- 12:43click on your mesh. Now, because we are
- 12:45in Remember what I said, because we are
- 12:46in performance mode, you won't see the
- 12:48live preview. But, let me go to normal
- 12:51mode, and select my Boolean once again.
- 12:54So, when I do this, as you can see, we
- 12:56are in
- 12:57performance mode, I can't see the cut
- 12:59happening in live. So, you can see the
- 13:01cut happening live. Do you get what I'm
- 13:03saying? Even when you get to intersect,
- 13:07you can see the movement happening live.
- 13:08Do you get?
- 13:10So, that's basically the difference
- 13:11between I wanted to show you guys visual
- 13:14difference between performance mode and
- 13:17normal mode.
- 13:19So, for the Boolean,
- 13:22we have three types [music] of Boolean.
- 13:25The union Boolean
- 13:26joins the two of them together. The
- 13:29subtract boolean use the um two body to
- 13:32cut the target [music] body. And the
- 13:34last one is intersect which basically
- 13:36cuts out the intersected part.
- 13:39So that's it for boolean. I'm sure we
- 13:41all know what boolean is.
- 13:43I don't want to stay on boolean. Now the
- 13:45next thing I'm going to talking about is
- 13:47our mirror.
- 13:49Um let me use a cube as an example here.
- 13:53Our mirror tool
- 13:56is quite useful.
- 13:57So this is how to use it. When you click
- 13:59your mirror and click your object key
- 14:01you basically activated your mirror as
- 14:03you can see. The first thing you want to
- 14:05do now is um when [music] you drag it to
- 14:07the side like this you are mirroring
- 14:10your tool. Actually like copying it to
- 14:12another side so you can basically drag
- 14:14this to this side. You can change the
- 14:16axis by clicking
- 14:18X, Y, and change it to the Y axis, Z.
- 14:23>> [music]
- 14:23>> And if you click shift Z, shift Y, or
- 14:27shift X you are using the flipped tool
- 14:30here.
- 14:31So that's basically it. And when you are
- 14:34together as you can see there's this
- 14:36like middle line kind of like how we
- 14:38have it in Blender too when we mirror an
- 14:41object. What you can do is unite halves.
- 14:43And when you do unite halves it joins
- 14:45them together. So when I do okay now
- 14:48I've turned that into like a simple
- 14:51apology into a simple shape. I can just
- 14:54go ahead and
- 14:56escape. Sorry. Then I can just go ahead
- 14:58and [music] select this edge just like
- 15:01that.
- 15:02So
- 15:03that's it for the mirror.
- 15:05The next tool we are going to talk of is
- 15:07the ink rinsed tool.
- 15:09Now this is very unique. So let me just
- 15:11draw a quick circle
- 15:13so I can use that as an example. So
- 15:17while I have my um circle here
- 15:20I'll go into solid mode. I'll move this
- 15:22out a bit and I'll use my imprint tool.
- 15:26As you can see imprint, select my target
- 15:28solid and my tool. So, imprint is
- 15:30basically used for adding edges to a to
- 15:34a
- 15:35to a solid. So, there's vector vector
- 15:38which is adding the adding it based on
- 15:40your camera where your camera is looking
- 15:42at.
- 15:43So,
- 15:45as you can see, I have added it
- 15:47according to this and it's added to that
- 15:49place. So, if I use my normal is
- 15:51basically I'm projecting it's kind of
- 15:53like knife project projecting it based
- 15:56on the normal. So, if I do by
- 15:58directional it will print on two sides.
- 16:00So, if I do this, as you can see, it
- 16:02printed on two sides. But, if I use
- 16:04vector, vector does it based on where
- 16:06the camera is looking at. As you do you
- 16:08see what I'm saying?
- 16:10>> [music]
- 16:10>> So, that's basically the imprint tool.
- 16:11The imprint tool is quite useful when
- 16:13you want to like add unique object um
- 16:16you don't have to do it
- 16:18for circle. So, let's assume my ads, I
- 16:21have this, right? And I want to use this
- 16:24edge to draw [music]
- 16:25a line. So, what I'll do is I'll use my
- 16:27imprint
- 16:28and then I'll do it normal not by
- 16:31[music] directional.
- 16:32Sorry.
- 16:34Then I can do this. Then as you can see,
- 16:36the details have [music] been added. So,
- 16:39I can now use that details to do
- 16:41whatever I want. So, let's assume I
- 16:44select
- 16:45those edges and there's another feature
- 16:48here called pipe tool. Now, that is used
- 16:51for adding pipe in blender. So, I just
- 16:53do shift P. Now, as I've done that shift
- 16:56P, as you can see, I've added the pipe.
- 16:59I can change it to a box pipe,
- 17:01a circle [music] pipe or
- 17:03a something I call spiky spiky pipe. So,
- 17:07I'll just use the circle pipe for this
- 17:09illustration and press okay. So, I've
- 17:11used that edge to create [music]
- 17:12something unique like this. Then I can
- 17:14go as far as selecting my boolean,
- 17:17>> [music]
- 17:17>> selecting my target body and my tool
- 17:20body. Now, I use this quartz. [music]
- 17:22And as you can see,
- 17:23very easy, very, very easy. So,
- 17:27there are a lot of possibilities with
- 17:29forge. Do you get what I'm saying? Let's
- 17:31assume you want to create details like
- 17:33this. There are a lot of possibilities
- 17:35with forge. So, that's basically I've
- 17:38explained the imprint tool and both the
- 17:40imprint tool and the pipe tool. The pipe
- 17:42tool is basically for adding pipes to
- 17:44the edges. And also, the next one I
- 17:47would like to explain is the
- 17:49>> [music]
- 17:50>> So, here I would So, there are different
- 17:53things you can do to a face in Blender.
- 17:56>> [music]
- 17:56>> You can go ahead and um
- 17:58extrude You can using shift E, you can
- 18:01extract a face. As you can see, you can
- 18:04delete a face just using delete.
- 18:07And it's using shift D,
- 18:09>> [music]
- 18:10>> you can duplicate a face. So, we've
- 18:12duplicated this face. Now, we want to
- 18:13use our revolve I want to use our
- 18:16revolve. So, we click our revolve. I
- 18:18would click the face we want to revolve.
- 18:20And as you can see,
- 18:21it is revolving for us live.
- 18:24I can change it to your X axis like
- 18:26this.
- 18:27And then you can move it any way you
- 18:29want. I can change to your Y axis like
- 18:31this.
- 18:32I can move it any way you want. I can
- 18:34change to your Z axis. You can also
- 18:36increase the thickness of this actually.
- 18:38I can increase the thickness. But let's
- 18:40leave the thickness at zero for now. And
- 18:42then you can also increase the axis to
- 18:45any any way you want. I think I would I
- 18:47would like to use a 90° for this. So,
- 18:51we've done this. And we can just press
- 18:53okay.
- 18:54And that's created this very unique
- 18:57solid for us. And we can just use it to
- 18:59do anything we want.
- 19:01>> [music]
- 19:01>> So, you can also use the revolve tool to
- 19:03create very unique shapes also. And the
- 19:06next tool we are going to be talking
- 19:08about is our thicken tool.
- 19:11Now, this one is I've used it before in
- 19:13this video, but I'll just for the sake
- 19:15of video, I'll use it again. Let me
- 19:17extract this face.
- 19:19I'll go to my thickening tool and I'll
- 19:21select this.
- 19:21>> [music]
- 19:22>> I'll select this and
- 19:25I'll just increase the thickness.
- 19:27>> [music]
- 19:27>> I'll press okay and as you can see, it
- 19:29has thickening. It's obviously you don't
- 19:31want to see
- 19:32the ghost mode, you can just put it in
- 19:34normal mode.
- 19:35I think I'll increase my quality [music]
- 19:37to one. Then when I select this,
- 19:40I just press okay.
- 19:42As you can see, very easy. And I've
- 19:45explained the pipe tool already. The
- 19:46pipe tool is used for
- 19:49adding pipes, so I need to move away
- 19:51from the thickening.
- 19:53>> [music]
- 19:53>> So,
- 19:54the pipe tool
- 19:56pipes
- 19:57The pipe tool is used for The pipe tool
- 19:59is used for adding pipes, so you should
- 20:00[music] select the pipe tool. I'll just
- 20:02select this.
- 20:05As you can see, or you can just choose
- 20:07to select instead of selecting the body.
- 20:10I think I'll select all the edge you
- 20:11want to add the pipe to.
- 20:13Then just do shift P
- 20:16and you add your
- 20:18pipe like this. I'll just press okay. I
- 20:21added your pipe and like I did before, I
- 20:23then use Boolean
- 20:25to just subtract if you just want to add
- 20:28some uniqueness to it like [music] this.
- 20:31So, that's it for the pipe tool and
- 20:34the next thing is our loft. Now, I'll
- 20:36use
- 20:37sketches to [music] explain this
- 20:39actually. I'll draw my first sketch and
- 20:42let's see, I'll [music] just draw
- 20:44Let me draw
- 20:47a cube. Sorry. Let me use the polygon
- 20:49[music] tool to draw a cube and then
- 20:53So, imagine if I have this
- 20:56and then I will What I'll do right now
- 20:58is I'll move this up.
- 21:01So, I can now use our loft. Oh, I I
- 21:04still haven't explained this tool. I'll
- 21:06use our loft, the first one.
- 21:08Select the second one. As you can see,
- 21:10our loft
- 21:11basically created this for us. Sorry
- 21:14about this. Okay. So, our loft basically
- 21:17created this unique shape out of the
- 21:20cube and out of the plane and circle
- 21:23[music] we did. Then we can do whatever
- 21:25we want with this. I can do whatever I
- 21:27want with this. I just press okay for
- 21:29our fillet.
- 21:31Let me keep on using preview mode.
- 21:33I can go.
- 21:35I did this. Sorry. So, one other thing I
- 21:38need to note
- 21:39>> [music]
- 21:39>> that I need to tell you is when your
- 21:41fillet does something like this, the
- 21:43ghost preview is going to be messy. So,
- 21:46because our fillet hits a corner like
- 21:49that, that's why the ghost preview looks
- 21:50like that.
- 21:51But, it's easily ignorable and when you
- 21:53press okay, your fillet still works like
- 21:55normal. The ghost preview is just a
- 21:57preview. It's just a preview. So,
- 22:00this is just it. So, this is how we can
- 22:02create very unique shapes. As you can
- 22:05see, the ghost preview messes up again.
- 22:08But, if I press okay, just because it
- 22:10hits this
- 22:11corner here, that's why it does like
- 22:13that.
- 22:14So, yeah. The next tool we are going to
- 22:15be looking at is the pipe tool. I said
- 22:18pipe. It's the sweep tool actually.
- 22:21Sorry about that.
- 22:22Um let me use my line. I just draw a
- 22:26straight line here.
- 22:28I can think to learn.
- 22:30All right. Then,
- 22:33I can move it here.
- 22:37I can move it upward to make it. So,
- 22:40um [snorts] the sweep, very very easy.
- 22:44Select [music] the first one. Select
- 22:46this.
- 22:47And boom, that's basically it. Then you
- 22:49can have your cap.
- 22:51Add cap or remove cap.
- 22:53And boom, that's basically [music] our
- 22:55sweep tool. So,
- 22:56we they are different ways to create
- 22:58different things.
- 22:59And um
- 23:01I think basically that's it for all our
- 23:03tools. That's it for all our tools for
- 23:05now.
- 23:06Those are the tools we have in Forge to
- 23:09create whatever we want. Um so, also for
- 23:12ease of access, you can use control A
- 23:15while [music] in solid mode to um select
- 23:18your stuff instead of using the toolbar.
- 23:20You can use control A and you see all
- 23:22[music] your features here to use. You
- 23:24can use control A.
- 23:26Um
- 23:27and the next thing we're going to be
- 23:28talking about actually is our commit to
- 23:32mesh, commit to
- 23:34solid, right?
- 23:36Commit to Blender. Now, this tool very
- 23:38useful.
- 23:40So, let me just go ahead and delete
- 23:43everything we have in our scene right
- 23:44now.
- 23:45And I will
- 23:46>> [music]
- 23:46>> add a
- 23:48cube like usual. So, I have this cube.
- 23:52I'll just try to fillet one edge just
- 23:55like this.
- 23:56>> [music]
- 23:56>> So, I have this cube and as you can see
- 23:58it says commit all solids, meaning every
- 24:02solid in this scene it will commit
- 24:03everything. In a future update we're
- 24:05going to add commit selected. [music]
- 24:08So, with this I can change my density to
- 24:11about two.
- 24:13And this auto sharp is when you commit,
- 24:16it will add a bevel modifier for you.
- 24:19And And using the weight, it will just
- 24:21preserve your edge sharpness.
- 24:23That's basically what it does. So, I
- 24:24will leave it on. I'll just change my
- 24:26density to two and let's see how fast
- 24:29this will go. Yep, very fast. So, once I
- 24:32go into this I can see the remesher is
- 24:35done. It has remeshed my old
- 24:38mesh for me.
- 24:39Now, I just wanted to note and I wanted
- 24:42to clarify that the remesher isn't
- 24:45perfect. [music] Do you get what I'm
- 24:47saying? The remesher is not perfect in
- 24:49any way. Also, I didn't actually explain
- 24:51the extrude, but
- 24:53yeah, the extrude feature is also there.
- 24:55You can extrude faces, you can extrude
- 24:58edges, [music] you can extrude
- 25:01Mhm.
- 25:02sketch also. So, let me just boolean
- 25:05this.
- 25:07Escape. So, let me commit again. Commit
- 25:10to Blender. Yep, that didn't take too
- 25:13long. So,
- 25:15the tool isn't it is not perfect. Do you
- 25:18get? We are still going to improve it in
- 25:20different ways. But for now, it gets the
- 25:22job done well.
- 25:24It is not perfect. I wanted to clarify
- 25:26that before people come for me and say,
- 25:28"Oh, the tool doesn't work fine." It is
- 25:30not perfect, but it gets the job done
- 25:33the right way. So, um you can see you
- 25:36have match caps. You have different
- 25:39match caps. Just in case you want to
- 25:41change. Um yeah. And another thing we
- 25:44can also do in forges
- 25:47We can import step, we can import IGES,
- 25:51and we can import BREP.
- 25:53We can export different We can export
- 25:55STL, IGES, BREP,
- 25:58OBJ, PLY, GEOB. So,
- 26:01let me try to
- 26:02>> [music]
- 26:02>> import something or import a step file.
- 26:05And let's see how fast that will import.
- 26:07Boom. Basically, in
- 26:09instant importing. It doesn't even take
- 26:11time. And
- 26:12it's actual CAD. So, let's just [music]
- 26:14do Boom. This is actual CAD. I can
- 26:17basically just go ahead and you know, go
- 26:19to edit mode and just continue my work
- 26:22here.
- 26:23As you can see,
- 26:25I just continue what I'm doing here.
- 26:26It's so awesome to be able to bring
- 26:29actual CAD [music]
- 26:30into Blender
- 26:32and just continue your work from
- 26:33whatever software.
- 26:34>> [music]
- 26:35>> Plasticity, you know, it's so awesome to
- 26:38be able to do this, man.
- 26:40This is This This is an add-on I've been
- 26:42wanting for years. [music]
- 26:44That's why I had to create it myself,
- 26:45obviously. So, um that's about it. If
- 26:48you have any questions, you can comment
- 26:51below or you can ask in the Discord
- 26:53channel. I'm open to answering any
- 26:55questions. Thank you very much for
- 26:57watching watching till the end. I know
- 27:00this video is not exactly the
- 27:03you know flashy edit video we all watch
- 27:06on YouTube, but
- 27:07yeah, thank you for watching and thank
- 27:10you for using Forge.
