  21. 0:43Mark Dubay, PSE, both with Bell. Let's
  22. 0:45welcome boys.
  23. 0:46Thanks for having us, Val.
  24. 0:48Happy to be here. Well, welcome to the
  25. 0:50show. Welcome to the show. And today we
  26. 0:52officially named this podcast the Bell
  27. 0:54Tech Talk. If we're going to go with it,
  28. 0:56Tech Talk.
  29. 0:57Going with Tech. Yep, Tech Talk it is.
  30. 0:58Yep. Tech Talk it is.
  31. 1:00Till somebody tells us different. Right.
  32. 1:03Until somebody says no, no, that sounds
  33. 1:05too corny or whatever. So it's like
  34. 1:07change it up. But here we are, Bell Tech
  35. 1:10Talk, here it is. Long anticipated, lots
  36. 1:13of conversations being had in the
  37. 1:14background here, and it's finally to
  38. 1:16fruition. So thanks guys for coming on
  39. 1:18board with this. Thanks for kind of the
  40. 1:19contributions of the conversations had
  41. 1:21on this. And I'm really, really excited
  42. 1:22about this show. So it's it's uh I'm
  43. 1:25thankful to have you both on here, guys.
  44. 1:27Yeah, we're excited, too. And it's uh
  45. 1:28thanks for giving us the opportunity.
  46. 1:30Yep. This is awesome.
  47. 1:32Anytime, anytime. So we I'll let you
  48. 1:35guys kind of explain a little bit here
  49. 1:36about we're kind of what we're doing
  50. 1:37here with the Bell Tech Talk and just
  51. 1:39it's it's it's a great forum
  52. 1:42for us to talk about your helicopters.
  53. 1:44And to what we're kind of be looking at
  54. 1:46discussing and covering helicopters uh
  55. 1:49that that need particular
  56. 1:51information sets basically out to them.
  57. 1:53I'll let you guys go first. Greg, if you
  58. 1:54want to kind of we'll go we'll go with
  59. 1:56the
  60. 1:57Greg and or Mark here. Um I'll let one
  61. 1:59of you two start. Just give us a little
  62. 2:01bit of history about yourself and how
  63. 2:04you got to where you're at.
  64. 2:05You want to go Mark or you want me to
  65. 2:06go? I can go. I can go.
  66. 2:08Sure.
  67. 2:09So, a little bit of history about
  68. 2:10myself. So, started in aviation early
  69. 2:142000. Well, I studied actually
  70. 2:16maintenance aviation maintenance.
  71. 2:19And I was actually discussing that with
  72. 2:21Greg during lunch time. Yep. And
  73. 2:24it was
  74. 2:25kind of
  75. 2:26the first time in my family that anybody
  76. 2:29got into aviation. That was not an known
  77. 2:31sector at all. Nobody knew anything
  78. 2:33about it. And I was just looking into,
  79. 2:35okay, I want to be a mechanic sometimes.
  80. 2:37I don't want to be a car mechanic
  81. 2:40because there's too many of those. I
  82. 2:41want to be something special. So, found
  83. 2:44out about
  84. 2:45aviation, started studying in it. And
  85. 2:49then started working for some
  86. 2:52private Well, companies here and there.
  87. 2:55And the first time actually my father I
  88. 2:56was telling that to Greg too also. First
  89. 2:59time my father came to
  90. 3:01bring me to that first company I worked
  91. 3:02for was in Quebec in Sorel.
  92. 3:05And he dropped my toolbox and looked at
  93. 3:07me and said, "You got to fix this
  94. 3:09thing?" And it was that and the
  95. 3:10helicopter's just there. I'm like,
  96. 3:12"Yeah, that's what I'm going to do,
  97. 3:13Dad." And he was like, "Holy wow. That's
  98. 3:16amazing." So,
  99. 3:19kept working in the industry. So, Would
  100. 3:21you take that as a compliment or a holy
  101. 3:22crap moment? Like it's that's like
  102. 3:25It was Yeah, for him it was the first
  103. 3:26time I I think it was so serious. So, he
  104. 3:28was like, okay. He didn't know because
  105. 3:30he didn't know aviation at all. So,
  106. 3:32yeah. That was fun. It was cool. You're
  107. 3:34the one who brought the sickness into
  108. 3:35the family with the helicopter sickness.
  109. 3:37Yeah, okay. Nice. And now everybody that
  110. 3:40my father sees, they talk about, "Hey,
  111. 3:42my son's doing this. He's in the
  112. 3:43helicopter business."
  113. 3:44Yes. Blah blah blah. It's kind of fun.
  114. 3:47Really fun, so.
  115. 3:48Congratulations. So, you're you're
  116. 3:50you're 20 plus years now in it. Oh yeah,
  117. 3:52I'm
  118. 3:53yeah, 20 plus years. I've worked for
  119. 3:56operators for roughly 15 years and I've
  120. 3:59been with Bell for the last 7 years
  121. 4:01roughly.
  122. 4:01Oh, congratulations, sir. You got some
  123. 4:02longevity here. Congratulations. That's
  124. 4:04awesome. Thanks.
  125. 4:05That's awesome. Should we now turn it
  126. 4:06over to the young buck? Yeah, the young
  127. 4:08buck, yeah.
  128. 4:10So, last week when I START I MEAN
  129. 4:17SO, CUZ YOU STARTED cuz you cuz you
  130. 4:19found it on Instagram, right? Is that
  131. 4:20what it was? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I saw a
  132. 4:22YouTube video.
  133. 4:25I was actually looking up some No.
  134. 4:27Uh I
  135. 4:28got hooked on helicopters when I was
  136. 4:30growing up the little town I was growing
  137. 4:32up in. They were doing a lot of oil and
  138. 4:33gas exploration, so
  139. 4:36I had You know, you may all remember the
  140. 4:38iconic company Rocky Mountain
  141. 4:39Helicopters. Some may remember them,
  142. 4:42some may not, but
  143. 4:44they were based in our town and
  144. 4:46there was a There was a mechanic there
  145. 4:48that kind of took me under his wing when
  146. 4:49I was young.
  147. 4:50Kind of showed me what he did every day
  148. 4:52and I'd I'd clean helicopters for rides.
  149. 4:55So, I'd clean whatever they had. I'd
  150. 4:56clean windows, do whatever and they'd
  151. 4:58give me rides every once in a while. It
  152. 4:59was all good.
  153. 5:01I'm as as is Mark, I'm I'm the only one
  154. 5:03in my family that's in aviation.
  155. 5:06Uh and I I have four siblings.
  156. 5:09And uh
  157. 5:11Initially, my folks uh
  158. 5:13Well, even to this day we were we were
  159. 5:15actually laughing about this at lunch. I
  160. 5:17tried to explain to them what I what it
  161. 5:19is I do now for work
  162. 5:21and I've given up on that because all
  163. 5:23they see is I'm talking on the phone or
  164. 5:25working on my laptop.
  165. 5:27And and they pay me for that. I don't
  166. 5:29get that. That's just something. Anyhow,
  167. 5:32But no, I
  168. 5:34kind of along the same lines as Mark,
  169. 5:35getting three by got my licenses
  170. 5:38worked on corporate aircraft to fix-wing
  171. 5:41for a while. Then got into the
  172. 5:42helicopter, did some game capture, just
  173. 5:45a little bit of game capture with 500s.
  174. 5:47Had a great experience with that
  175. 5:48company. Just unfortunately things
  176. 5:50turned there and the you know, economy
  177. 5:53kind of
  178. 5:55did a did a number on us there. But then
  179. 5:57I went to work for a Bell service center
  180. 5:59in Utah there and worked there for 13
  181. 6:01years working different different titles
  182. 6:04from you know, different or different
  183. 6:05positions from uh
  184. 6:07you know, line mechanic to overhaul to
  185. 6:10paint paint stuff. Yeah.
  186. 6:12Chief inspector. You know, I got
  187. 6:15a huge amount of experience in 13 years
  188. 6:18on a lot of different models.
  189. 6:20Luckily the the folks that owned that
  190. 6:22facility, the owner was super nice guy,
  191. 6:24gentleman that gave us the opportunity
  192. 6:26to work on whatever if we requested we
  193. 6:28could work.
  194. 6:29He didn't he didn't stop us from doing
  195. 6:31it, you know.
  196. 6:33Really that's uh
  197. 6:34that led to having enough experience to
  198. 6:36be qualified to to join the Bell team
  199. 6:38for me.
  200. 6:40In 2013 I joined the Bell team.
  201. 6:432013? Okay. 2013 I was with Bell but I
  202. 6:46actually technically started maybe a few
  203. 6:48years So hold on here. Hold on here
  204. 6:50Mark. So he is the young buck.
  205. 6:54He's the young one in the totem pole
  206. 6:56here buddy. Okay.
  207. 6:59Yeah, we got you now Mark.
  208. 7:01Well, if you back up to 1989
  209. 7:05Okay, here we go. I started my license.
  210. 7:09But it's been good. Been a good uh
  211. 7:12good adventure I would say. I'd call it
  212. 7:14adventure cuz it's been it has been an
  213. 7:16adventure. Yeah, it is. It is an
  214. 7:18adventure.
  215. 7:19Life in itself is an adventure and the
  216. 7:21fact that we get to have these cool jobs
  217. 7:23working with these cool things that fly
  218. 7:24in the skull sky I should say. That's
  219. 7:26gravy on top of the potatoes boys.
  220. 7:28That's what I Congratulations to you
  221. 7:29both.
  222. 7:30It's pretty awesome. Yeah. We can talk
  223. 7:32about now here what we're going to be
  224. 7:33looking at doing here with this awesome
  225. 7:34kind of form of podcast again.
  226. 7:36Trailblazing, groundbreaking
  227. 7:38and how how it came together here with
  228. 7:41kind of really discussing everything
  229. 7:43that we're going to be kind of looking
  230. 7:44at going whether it's a quarterly basis
  231. 7:45or just going to be more of an
  232. 7:46informative basis. I'll let you guys
  233. 7:48kind of lead the way on it and we'll
  234. 7:49just kind of talk about it as we go
  235. 7:50along. Cool. Go ahead, Greg. I'll let
  236. 7:52you start because you're the one that
  237. 7:54got the idea.
  238. 7:56Well, I don't know if I was the one that
  239. 7:57got the idea, but I I definitely have
  240. 7:58been the Oh, there it is.
  241. 8:00I've been trying to trying to put
  242. 8:02something like this together for a
  243. 8:03while, trying to get everybody excited
  244. 8:05about it, but not I mean when we had
  245. 8:07opportunities, but really
  246. 8:10at the end of the day
  247. 8:11at the end of the day here with the
  248. 8:14with us
  249. 8:16the tech talk idea is we're really just
  250. 8:19we publish bulletins, we publish, you
  251. 8:21know, tech bulletins and and different
  252. 8:23things and a lot of questions we get
  253. 8:25asked as tech reps when we're in the
  254. 8:27field, you know, customer service
  255. 8:28engineers is man, you know, video or or
  256. 8:31if you could explain the details on this
  257. 8:33and what you're doing here you know,
  258. 8:35what what are you guys what's the intent
  259. 8:38of this inspection or what, you know
  260. 8:40whatever, right? And so this is and
  261. 8:42really
  262. 8:44it's time for us to embrace what's going
  263. 8:46on today to communicate with the with
  264. 8:48the folks in the field. Mhm.
  265. 8:51I'm old school as you know cuz I'm the
  266. 8:53youngest one on the call.
  267. 8:59I walk in the facilities, we we all do
  268. 9:01and we see that this generation of
  269. 9:03aircraft technicians, they're they're
  270. 9:05into podcasts, they're into this type of
  271. 9:06media. This is what they This is how
  272. 9:08they learn. Agreed. And really we need
  273. 9:11we needed a platform where we could
  274. 9:13share our knowledge with the next
  275. 9:15generation and we could help clarify
  276. 9:19what we're what we're trying to achieve
  277. 9:20in helicopter safety with our with our
  278. 9:22manuals and such and that's this is a
  279. 9:25it's a perfect platform.
  280. 9:27Well, I mean this is this is our another
  281. 9:30way of us for we so we can connect with
  282. 9:33our customers on another another level
  283. 9:35to provide top
  284. 9:37And that's really what we're our our
  285. 9:39goal is.
  286. 9:40Safety. We want our operator to be safe.
  287. 9:43It really is unprecedented. So, good for
  288. 9:44you for kind of really beating that
  289. 9:45drum. Yeah. Kind of really kind of want
  290. 9:47to get this launched. And you know, I
  291. 9:48was I was told that you were the excited
  292. 9:50one to kind of get this up and running.
  293. 9:55I'm excited.
  294. 9:57So, that's that's kind of been on a nut
  295. 9:58in a nutshell for my side.
  296. 10:00It's It's also a good place. I mean,
  297. 10:02everybody can access us easily with ear
  298. 10:05pods or whatever. You can listen to it
  299. 10:07at night. And then that again, like Greg
  300. 10:10said, it's another way to reach out to
  301. 10:12our customers and give them some some a
  302. 10:14little bit more information or some tips
  303. 10:16on on our products or maintenance that
  304. 10:19you do on our products. So, yeah, it's
  305. 10:21it's it's awesome, I think. Fantastic
  306. 10:24idea to go there, Mr. Jordan.
  307. 10:28This this is a this is by me, it's our
  308. 10:30opportunity to share our passion. Yeah.
  309. 10:32Also, yeah. Absolutely. For helicopter
  310. 10:35aviation. Yes. Yeah.
  311. 10:37Yeah. And Mark, to your point, yeah,
  312. 10:39there's a lot of guys that just walk
  313. 10:40around the hangar if they're
  314. 10:41concentrated on working on a particular,
  315. 10:43you know, transmission section or if
  316. 10:45they're working on the the rotor head
  317. 10:46itself. And they're listening to shows
  318. 10:48like this where it is informative. Like
  319. 10:50it's it's, you know, we're entertaining
  320. 10:51all the same, but if you have
  321. 10:52individuals that kind of had turn wrench
  322. 10:53on particular items that we're having
  323. 10:55issues in the past and kind of maybe
  324. 10:57just a little snippet, even just
  325. 10:58something to promote the idea, the spark
  326. 11:00the idea, then then it's a job well
  327. 11:03done. So, it's like you said, to kind of
  328. 11:04It is. go back to Greg here. It's it's
  329. 11:06very innovative here and good for you
  330. 11:07guys for kind of molding to the change
  331. 11:08because today's AMEs, the younger AMEs
  332. 11:10and generation,
  333. 11:12podcasts are it.
  334. 11:14They are, yeah.
  335. 11:16So, when when the decision was made to
  336. 11:18kind of now go forward with the podcast,
  337. 11:20obviously there's conversations had
  338. 11:21there with Vertical and all that.
  339. 11:23The the now we just got to kind of be
  340. 11:25looking at, you know, what what
  341. 11:27platforms we'll be talking about and how
  342. 11:29we're going to be coming. That's that's
  343. 11:30going to be challenging itself. I'll let
  344. 11:31you guys kind of road map that as we go
  345. 11:33along.
  346. 11:34You know, some of the some of the issues
  347. 11:36we help within the field, you know, some
  348. 11:38of the troubleshooting and such, you
  349. 11:39know,
  350. 11:40it's a repeat question. We'll get the
  351. 11:42same question from multiple customers
  352. 11:44and it may be related to
  353. 11:47you know, let's say
  354. 11:48uh
  355. 11:49contacted heat enhancers, you know,
  356. 11:52with the integrated avionics systems
  357. 11:54now, you have a lot of critical
  358. 11:56connections that are Sure. And we we we
  359. 11:59use some some contacted enhancers, stuff
  360. 12:03like that, to help keep those
  361. 12:05connections clean and free and good.
  362. 12:07We see situations where people are
  363. 12:10overachievers or they don't know what
  364. 12:13happened before then. Someone else might
  365. 12:14have been troubleshooting the problem.
  366. 12:16It handed off to them. They put more
  367. 12:17contacted heat enhancer on there. Next
  368. 12:19thing you know, you're having you're
  369. 12:20having other issues generated by too
  370. 12:23much of a good thing. You got a bulk
  371. 12:24overload in one sector.
  372. 12:26And that's just a a quick little taste
  373. 12:28of it, but the idea is
  374. 12:31to share
  375. 12:32the tribal knowledge we have on systems,
  376. 12:35but also good practices and techniques
  377. 12:37for maintaining aircraft, you know,
  378. 12:39stuff we consider still critical to the
  379. 12:42reliability of the aircraft, you know,
  380. 12:44operation of the aircraft, you know.
  381. 12:46And and and the simple stuff. I mean,
  382. 12:48not it's
  383. 12:49maybe not simple stuff, but it's stuff
  384. 12:51we When we see repeat questions about
  385. 12:54the same thing, that's what that's
  386. 12:56really what drove me to say, "You know,
  387. 12:58we could do something like a podcast
  388. 13:00where we could share this information
  389. 13:02anybody and not
  390. 13:04not to lessen the burden on us, but to
  391. 13:06help
  392. 13:08everybody that maybe has that question,
  393. 13:10but never thought they could call us to
  394. 13:11ask it.
  395. 13:12As another There you go. Yeah. Another
  396. 13:15avenue of communicating with our
  397. 13:17customer, you know, another channel to
  398. 13:19communicate with our customer. So, it's
  399. 13:21It's Use Use the platform. Use the Yeah,
  400. 13:23it's stuff like that is what
  401. 13:25you know, examples like that and then
  402. 13:27we'll into some deeper stuff, you know,
  403. 13:29uh one of the things is the uh
  404. 13:32the ASB Yeah. portion of the podcast
  405. 13:35where we want to talk, you know, Mark,
  406. 13:36you can talk to that. Yeah. Yeah,
  407. 13:38absolutely. So, I I think I think what
  408. 13:41we're looking at is really two things.
  409. 13:43The first one is really to do that those
  410. 13:45tech talks where we can bring specific
  411. 13:47subjects that we can discuss on our
  412. 13:49platforms, on our aircrafts. Mhm. But
  413. 13:52the other portion of it will be shorter
  414. 13:54podcast where we maybe talk about like 5
  415. 13:58or 10 minutes about a specific bulletin
  416. 14:00that we've released Exactly. that may
  417. 14:03affect our customers maybe a lot more
  418. 14:06that we don't we don't really want to do
  419. 14:09like one for everything we release but
  420. 14:12the ones that we know that are going to
  421. 14:13affect our our customers a lot that's
  422. 14:16where maybe we want to explain a little
  423. 14:18bit more than just this Yeah. little
  424. 14:19block or district description block on
  425. 14:22our our bulletins. So, that's where
  426. 14:24we'll be able to give a little bit more
  427. 14:26around it and explain the whys and all
  428. 14:30the questions that customers may have.
  429. 14:32Because if one customer has a question
  430. 14:35a lot of people have questions
  431. 14:37Yeah.
  432. 14:38You have one guy asking a question,
  433. 14:40there's probably a a dozen of guys that
  434. 14:42have the same question. So, that's going
  435. 14:44to be a way for us to actually
  436. 14:46Yeah. answer those questions. Yeah. I
  437. 14:49was just going to just I was going to
  438. 14:50run off that by simply saying what you
  439. 14:51guys are doing when it comes to the
  440. 14:52educational side of it whether you're
  441. 14:54introducing like uh like you said, like
  442. 14:56if like even a service directive uh
  443. 14:57bulletin or something of that notice not
  444. 15:00necessarily doesn't have to be
  445. 15:01particularly something so critical, but
  446. 15:02it just to the point where it's
  447. 15:03informative where you're getting Yeah.
  448. 15:04you're probably getting the same 10
  449. 15:06questions
  450. 15:08asked just in different variances from
  451. 15:10different operators.
  452. 15:11Exactly.
  453. 15:12of put it out in layman's terms and say
  454. 15:14check check check check in this and now
  455. 15:16it's kind of like, okay, I think I can
  456. 15:17now I can kind of track back to it. So,
  457. 15:19yeah.
  458. 15:20Again, groundbreaking, guys.
  459. 15:21Groundbreaking. Yeah. And so, to add to
  460. 15:23that, keep in mind, you know, we
  461. 15:26we have aircraft all over the world.
  462. 15:28So, you know, I help support the folks
  463. 15:30in Latin America as well with with the
  464. 15:32team I'm on.
  465. 15:33And they write
  466. 15:36and can read
  467. 15:38English. The technicians are are pretty
  468. 15:40good at because that's all we publish
  469. 15:42our manuals in. But, then if we give
  470. 15:43them another platform
  471. 15:45Mhm. to explain the intent behind these
  472. 15:47ASBs, you know, in
  473. 15:50to clear up the fog you know, anytime
  474. 15:52you write
  475. 15:54technical bulletin or an ASB,
  476. 15:56it's very difficult to write it to where
  477. 15:59everyone can understand it.
  478. 16:01Yeah, exactly. easily. It's just because
  479. 16:03of the technical nature of them. Mhm.
  480. 16:05So, if you if we take this platform and
  481. 16:08we we break it down where we're just
  482. 16:10having a conversation about it, that
  483. 16:12clears up the fog. Yeah. That's our
  484. 16:14intent. It's to clear up that fog
  485. 16:16between the technical writing and what
  486. 16:17we're actually doing here.
  487. 16:19You probably have a lot to deal with
  488. 16:21also there when it comes to the
  489. 16:22interpretations of it as well, too. So,
  490. 16:24Exactly, yeah.
  491. 16:25help Tops in those forums will
  492. 16:27absolutely clear it up.
  493. 16:29Yep.
  494. 16:29Mark, you're going to say something?
  495. 16:31No, I mean, that's a very good point. I
  496. 16:33mean, sometimes you read it and and just
  497. 16:35the I may read something one way and
  498. 16:38Greg may read something the the same
  499. 16:40thing and and understand something
  500. 16:41different. So, this is will just help
  501. 16:44clearing all those questions again. Or
  502. 16:47interpretation that you may you may want
  503. 16:50to clear up. Yeah.
  504. 16:51Interpretation. Interpretation.
  505. 16:54Making sure you have the good
  506. 16:56information and you know what you're
  507. 16:57supposed to do and why you're supposed
  508. 16:59to do it.
  509. 17:00Basically.
  510. 17:01Yeah, to keep in mind, you know, ASBs
  511. 17:03are safety driven, right? Alert service
  512. 17:05bulletins are safety driven. So, it's
  513. 17:07another way for us to get the safety
  514. 17:08message out.
  515. 17:10Yep. Faster you can get it out, the more
  516. 17:12it makes an impact and the safe the
  517. 17:13safer you fly flat out.
  518. 17:15Absolutely.
  519. 17:15Exactly, yeah. Yeah. Flat out.
  520. 17:18When it comes to the absolute structure
  521. 17:20of what you guys are doing there now and
  522. 17:21then as and as Bell as a group
  523. 17:24what when you guys have the service
  524. 17:26offerings that you have,
  525. 17:28um just talk a little bit about your
  526. 17:29support to your customer base and to
  527. 17:30your up growing to your growing customer
  528. 17:32base to support not only your legacy
  529. 17:35platforms, but I guess your upcoming
  530. 17:36platforms, right? Yeah. Can you talk a
  531. 17:37little bit about that and how your group
  532. 17:38is structured around that?
  533. 17:41So I'll talk about the CSE side, the
  534. 17:43customer service engineer side
  535. 17:45uh first and then if that's all right,
  536. 17:47Mark. That's all right because that's
  537. 17:49where it starts, Greg. Yeah. Well, it
  538. 17:52point, you know, it We're the We're
  539. 17:55We're usually the first ones to
  540. 17:56communicate with the customer with
  541. 17:58technical issues. And the reason our our
  542. 18:00relationship starts at the delivery of
  543. 18:02the aircraft to the customer.
  544. 18:04So we're introduced either during the
  545. 18:06delivery process, a few months before
  546. 18:08we'll be talking to the customer or the
  547. 18:09customer's maintainer.
  548. 18:11But you know, our our role is really
  549. 18:13building the relationship with the
  550. 18:15customer on the technical support side.
  551. 18:18So they know who to call when they have
  552. 18:20trouble when they have a problem. When
  553. 18:21they have a technical issue or a
  554. 18:23question, they know they could call us
  555. 18:25and we can get the ball rolling. And the
  556. 18:27way we try to structure teams is
  557. 18:30at least this is the way it was when I
  558. 18:32started, everybody has their expertise
  559. 18:35on the team.
  560. 18:36So
  561. 18:38just because I cover a region doesn't
  562. 18:40mean I'm going to be an expert on every
  563. 18:42model or every every system, but I have
  564. 18:44access to someone on the team
  565. 18:47that can help me support you within
  566. 18:50minutes, you know? And so the strength
  567. 18:52is in the team. We have avionics
  568. 18:54experts, we have airframe experts, we
  569. 18:56have rotor, you know, we have drivetrain
  570. 18:58folks. I've done a fair amount of
  571. 18:59overhaul. I've done a lot of rotor track
  572. 19:01and balance on the lights and the
  573. 19:02mediums.
  574. 19:03Uh
  575. 19:04you know, so
  576. 19:05we complement each other on the team,
  577. 19:07but we're there We're there. Our role,
  578. 19:10our number one role is
  579. 19:12supporting the customer at the first
  580. 19:14level. And then as we get into the into
  581. 19:17deeper issues, then we will pass, you
  582. 19:20know, we'll coordinate with PSE, pass on
  583. 19:22to PSE.
  584. 19:23But we're we're like the boots on the
  585. 19:25ground, for lack of a better term, or
  586. 19:27the you know, we're the we are the
  587. 19:28customer facing technical support
  588. 19:31portion of the frontline. Yep.
  589. 19:32frontline. Yep. And that's where we
  590. 19:34start that's where it starts, and then
  591. 19:35it's uh Exactly, yep.
  592. 19:38Yeah, I've I've done a couple I've I've
  593. 19:39done another video about this, but
  594. 19:41really it's all about the relationship
  595. 19:42with our customers, so they get started
  596. 19:44on the right foot, you know, and we're
  597. 19:46all trying to work together. It's
  598. 19:48challenging. Uh
  599. 19:50It's hard sometimes to connect with
  600. 19:51these new customers. It's hard to stay
  601. 19:53connected with them with everything
  602. 19:55that's going on in the world, but
  603. 19:57we try to we try to say we're a phone
  604. 19:58call away. Mhm. Just pick up the phone
  605. 20:00and call. And you know,
  606. 20:02we pride ourselves on answering that
  607. 20:04phone when a customer calls. That's what
  608. 20:06that's our job, answer the phone. It's
  609. 20:08it's a it's a rare commodity now
  610. 20:10nowadays, my friend.
  611. 20:11Uh that's that's what we hear.
  612. 20:13Yeah. Yep. Yep. Yep. Kudos to you for
  613. 20:16doing that. Kudos and as you you you
  614. 20:18know, you said it earlier, you have you
  615. 20:19have customers
  616. 20:21in all four corners of this world. So,
  617. 20:23technology being as as advanced as it
  618. 20:25is, if they can't call you, they can
  619. 20:27video. If they can't video you, they'll
  620. 20:29message you. Like it's just there's
  621. 20:30multiple ways now to communicate. So, if
  622. 20:32you guys, you know, you guys you will
  623. 20:33get tested upon how you respond to your
  624. 20:35customers. So, good job on that. We try.
  625. 20:38So, that's more on the CSE Yeah, that's
  626. 20:40more on the CSE level because like Greg
  627. 20:42is saying, they are customer facing,
  628. 20:45they are in the field, closer to the
  629. 20:47customers.
  630. 20:49For PSEs, we are located we have various
  631. 20:52locations, mainly in Mirabel, where the
  632. 20:55aircraft are manufactured. Okay.
  633. 20:57And then we also have some guys in
  634. 20:59Singapore. That's for our coverage, our
  635. 21:0124/7 coverage. Uh it helps with that. We
  636. 21:04have a guy in in uh Del Pinyon Flat now,
  637. 21:08and there's also a guy in Fort Worth,
  638. 21:09Texas.
  639. 21:11And basically, the biggest difference
  640. 21:12what I like to explain is that again,
  641. 21:15your CSC is going to be your first point
  642. 21:16of contact. They are at the field level.
  643. 21:18They are close to the customers and we
  644. 21:21actually have multiple customers. We
  645. 21:23have the Bell owners, operators,
  646. 21:25maintainers, that's easy. But the CSCs
  647. 21:27are one of our biggest customers
  648. 21:29actually.
  649. 21:29Okay. So they call us all the time when
  650. 21:32when there's they're on the road. They
  651. 21:34get a question from their customers.
  652. 21:36They can't answer right now. They call
  653. 21:38us, "Can you give
  654. 21:39an answer to this customer? Can you help
  655. 21:41him while I'm not there?" And so on. So
  656. 21:44I mean
  657. 21:45yeah, we have all our customers, all
  658. 21:48owners, operators, maintainers. We have
  659. 21:49our CSCs. We have other folks at Bell
  660. 21:52that are also our customers. And again,
  661. 21:54that the other difference with the PSCs
  662. 21:57is we're a little bit more split. So
  663. 21:59when you actually call a PSC or a PSC in
  664. 22:02Mirabel or Singapore,
  665. 22:04you're not calling one guy. You're
  666. 22:06actually calling
  667. 22:0725
  668. 22:09guys that are all technical and that all
  669. 22:12have specific forces or specific roles
  670. 22:16within PSC. Some some of them maybe
  671. 22:18specialize in lights. Some of them maybe
  672. 22:20specialize in intermediate aircraft.
  673. 22:22Yeah, yeah. Some of them will be
  674. 22:23specialized in medium and so on and also
  675. 22:25to specific systems. So if you need to
  676. 22:28talk to an avionic or structure guy,
  677. 22:30that's quite easy. But then if you want
  678. 22:32to go into a little bit more deeper into
  679. 22:35for example, 429 fuel system, well,
  680. 22:37you'll actually ask your question, "Hey,
  681. 22:39I got a 429 fuel question.
  682. 22:42Can I talk to somebody who's
  683. 22:43knowledgeable on that?" And we'll
  684. 22:45pass you to that specific person. So
  685. 22:48everybody specialize in
  686. 22:49you have instant instant diversity.
  687. 22:51It is. So we have key person. They all
  688. 22:54have their job. They all know what
  689. 22:56they're specialized in and that's how we
  690. 22:58help each other. And again, we're like
  691. 23:0024 hours a day.
  692. 23:03we're like 25 here in Mirabel. We have
  693. 23:05like three guys in Singapore and so on.
  694. 23:08And also, if if somebody's specializing
  695. 23:10in one system,
  696. 23:12he may stand up and look at the other
  697. 23:13guy and they they may start a discussion
  698. 23:15and then guess what? You're not calling
  699. 23:17one individual, you're actually calling
  700. 23:19three, four people discussing the same
  701. 23:21issue within Now, you're opening a
  702. 23:23forum. Yeah, you have a forum.
  703. 23:25Yeah, yeah. And on average, everybody
  704. 23:27has like 25, 30 years plus experience in
  705. 23:30this department. So, I mean, you're
  706. 23:32calling a whole bunch of knowledge here
  707. 23:34to help resolve your issues. So, that's
  708. 23:36that that's it that's what PSE does. So.
  709. 23:40So, that was quite a bit with CSE side
  710. 23:41of the world there, Mark.
  711. 23:43Kind of having everybody on the
  712. 23:44understanding and basically 24 hour
  713. 23:46support. Um the I'm basically on the CSE
  714. 23:50side, Greg, when you're involved on some
  715. 23:52of that, just just if you want to kind
  716. 23:54of elaborate a little bit more on what
  717. 23:55the CSE relationships to the PSEs are.
  718. 23:58And Mark, you made a great explanation
  719. 23:59there saying your your CSEs are your
  720. 24:01your some of your most important
  721. 24:03customers in addition to your customer
  722. 24:04base. Yes. If you want to talk about
  723. 24:06that, please feel free to do so.
  724. 24:08No, absolutely. You know, Mark Mark and
  725. 24:10the PSE team, you know, we can't we
  726. 24:12can't do our job without them, right?
  727. 24:14So,
  728. 24:15really the message is
  729. 24:18you get a collected team when you make
  730. 24:20that phone call.
  731. 24:21You just may not see it.
  732. 24:23But uh
  733. 24:25you know, we we'll call PSE.
  734. 24:28I'll call him a couple times a day
  735. 24:29usually to talk and just just to talk
  736. 24:31about something we're dealing with and
  737. 24:34they you know, we don't we don't
  738. 24:37necessarily get into the weeds too much,
  739. 24:38but it's nice to know you can call We
  740. 24:41know who the experts are, you know, the
  741. 24:43the subject matter experts are in PSE
  742. 24:45and I may call Mark and say, "Mark, I
  743. 24:47got this going on, blah blah blah." Mhm.
  744. 24:49And I'll call, you know, I'll call the
  745. 24:51drivetrain guy when they say, "Hey, you
  746. 24:53ever seen this when you're doing
  747. 24:54overhauls?" So, we we have all this
  748. 24:57we have all this background you know
  749. 24:59help
  750. 25:00that really makes us number one makes us
  751. 25:01look really like we're we're really good
  752. 25:04at what we do but in in reality it's
  753. 25:06just
  754. 25:07we we know where to find the answers
  755. 25:09that's why
  756. 25:11you guys actually care about people go
  757. 25:13figure right that's it we try it's
  758. 25:16awesome love it
  759. 25:19yeah but at the end of the day you know
  760. 25:21I would say we're probably one of PSC's
  761. 25:23number one customers and and you know
  762. 25:25they help us they help us help customers
  763. 25:26every day
  764. 25:28and the relationship is you know nothing
  765. 25:31short of fantastic you know these guys
  766. 25:33they they're like everyone
  767. 25:36just cuz they they leave work doesn't
  768. 25:38mean they've left work you can call them
  769. 25:39I mean I have most all these guys
  770. 25:41personal cell phones and you know we
  771. 25:43call after hours we talk a lot so it's
  772. 25:46it's like
  773. 25:48you can't get away from it aviation you
  774. 25:50know helicopters in a good way in a good
  775. 25:53way
  776. 25:54you know it's it's is we this is what we
  777. 25:56do but you know in short as I said in
  778. 25:59the beginning here
  779. 26:00you get to collective team it's the
  780. 26:02support you may be talking to me
  781. 26:04individually but
  782. 26:06there's a bunch of us behind the scenes
  783. 26:09you know supporting that that one phone
  784. 26:11call good
  785. 26:14and it's
  786. 26:15and I need to say this because it's it's
  787. 26:17hugely important
  788. 26:19it goes clear down to everybody at Bell
  789. 26:22from the people in the warehouse to the
  790. 26:24people in the spares department to the
  791. 26:26people even in you know tech pubs
  792. 26:28wherever when we have an issue they
  793. 26:31answer the phone they help us and that
  794. 26:33helps the customer and that's that's
  795. 26:36that I think is what makes our team so
  796. 26:38effective
  797. 26:40as a as a unit to help support the
  798. 26:42customers so
  799. 26:44it's pretty cool if you're dealing with
  800. 26:46people that are flight critical
  801. 26:47operators
  802. 26:48and they're needing that information
  803. 26:50within the second that they place the
  804. 26:51call and you guys are on it. Kudos to
  805. 26:53you for your team to kind of standing in
  806. 26:55front of it, delivering and then kind of
  807. 26:56finishing the product. So, good for you
  808. 26:57for that. Absolutely.
  809. 26:59Yeah, we try. Challenge there there's a
  810. 27:01lot of challenges involved in today's
  811. 27:03world, but you know, we
  812. 27:05we try to find the solution as quick as
  813. 27:07we can for the customer. That's That's
  814. 27:09our goal.
  815. 27:10If it was easy, everybody would be doing
  816. 27:11it, right? Well, they let me do it, so
  817. 27:12it must not be too difficult.
  818. 27:15Yeah, youngest guy on the team, all of a
  819. 27:16sudden just put him at the front of it.
  820. 27:17What the hell?
  821. 27:21Uh
  822. 27:22bad choices, bad choices followed by bad
  823. 27:24choices. That's all right.
  824. 27:25No, it's not all bad. It's all good,
  825. 27:27baby. It's all good. It's all good. It's
  826. 27:29all good. Love that relationship,
  827. 27:31especially between the two departments
  828. 27:33there. Like you said, you have the
  829. 27:33product support and you have the
  830. 27:35customer service side of the world
  831. 27:36working together. You guys are going to
  832. 27:37be offering a pretty steadfast and
  833. 27:39delivered product. I'm sure your
  834. 27:40customer base will appreciate that. I
  835. 27:41know as as as my side of the world
  836. 27:43there, I know my customers appreciate
  837. 27:45it. That's a good job, guys. Appreciate
  838. 27:46that.
  839. 27:47Going down the line here, I'm going to
  840. 27:48let one of you kind of mark if you want
  841. 27:49to jump into the BTA technical training.
  842. 27:51You want to talk a little bit about
  843. 27:52that, please do so. Yeah, absolutely. I
  844. 27:54mean, the BTA is is where all of our
  845. 27:57training occurs, obviously. So, various
  846. 28:00platforms. We have We have
  847. 28:03few instructors in in Texas. We have
  848. 28:06also
  849. 28:07instructors, I believe, that give
  850. 28:09courses also in Singapore now. So, we
  851. 28:11have various courses that are available.
  852. 28:14Every platform, new aircrafts, new
  853. 28:17models that we're currently in
  854. 28:19production or legacy aircrafts also, you
  855. 28:22can get the courses on there.
  856. 28:23Uh you have
  857. 28:25airframe courses.
  858. 28:27You have the avionic courses that are
  859. 28:29specific also to the each model that you
  860. 28:31can get. So, I mean, Greg, if you want
  861. 28:34to jump in, go ahead. Yeah. Yeah, I
  862. 28:36know. It's You're absolutely right,
  863. 28:37Mark. It's It's really we we have a
  864. 28:39great bunch of folks at our Bell
  865. 28:40Training Academy. They they uh
  866. 28:43from the pilot instruction
  867. 28:45clear down to I mean, you get it all
  868. 28:47there. Yep. But, uh
  869. 28:49I mean, one of the gentlemen used to
  870. 28:50work on Air Force One that's in our
  871. 28:52avionics training there. So, to tell you
  872. 28:54kind of caliber
  873. 28:55Holy smokes.
  874. 28:56kind of the kind of caliber of
  875. 28:58instructors we have there, but they're
  876. 28:59all they're all amazing and uh
  877. 29:02I think if anybody's attended a BTA
  878. 29:04course, they they know what I'm talking
  879. 29:06about. I mean,
  880. 29:07uh
  881. 29:08the facility is fantastic and it's just
  882. 29:11like us,
  883. 29:13they may have subject matter experts
  884. 29:15that may not be teaching that particular
  885. 29:16course that day, but they're right there
  886. 29:18and they'll pull them in and they'll
  887. 29:19they'll give a quick snippet on, you
  888. 29:21know, snippet on what they what's going
  889. 29:23on or what they're learning that day and
  890. 29:25it just makes all the difference to the
  891. 29:26customers.
  892. 29:28You know, it it's uh
  893. 29:30it's pretty uh it's a pretty great
  894. 29:34offering for the customers
  895. 29:36to to get their training. And and also
  896. 29:38it should be noted that if you're an
  897. 29:40organization that has, let's say that uh
  898. 29:43you know, 10 technicians engineers that
  899. 29:46need training, they'll set up they can
  900. 29:48come to you and train you at your
  901. 29:50facility as well, which is
  902. 29:53pretty cool because and and really where
  903. 29:55it benefits the customer is a lot of
  904. 29:58these organizations and let's be clear,
  905. 30:00it doesn't go unnoticed by Bell that it
  906. 30:03it is demanding to send folks through
  907. 30:05training.
  908. 30:06Uh you know, facilities like for
  909. 30:09instance, utility operators that I deal
  910. 30:11with in in my region, it's really hard
  911. 30:14for them to put anybody through instruct
  912. 30:16you know, through maintenance training
  913. 30:17in the summer during fire season. Yeah.
  914. 30:20Yeah. So, so now now look what happens
  915. 30:24in the fall. The aircraft come in out of
  916. 30:25the field. Now they're going straight
  917. 30:27into maintenance, so they're prepping
  918. 30:28for next year's fire season and they may
  919. 30:30do they may be doing complete refurbs,
  920. 30:32tear downs, you don't know. It's really
  921. 30:33hard to to get people released from your
  922. 30:37shop to go spend a week or two in Fort
  923. 30:39Worth at the BTA. So, some of my
  924. 30:42customers have capitalized on the BTA
  925. 30:44coming out to them and training all
  926. 30:46their, you know, as many as they can
  927. 30:47pull off. And they'll train for 4 or 5
  928. 30:50hours and they'll let them work in the
  929. 30:51afternoon or whatever back on their
  930. 30:53projects. And it doesn't disrupt the
  931. 30:54workflow as much for the for the
  932. 30:56operator as well. So, there's a lot of
  933. 30:58options that the BTA is willing to
  934. 31:00offer. And they'll they'll look at
  935. 31:01anything within reason. They have They
  936. 31:03have their course curriculum they have
  937. 31:04to stick to to meet the requirements for
  938. 31:07the training, but
  939. 31:08they're pretty they're pretty good. And
  940. 31:10they're like I say, they're really
  941. 31:11really good people there that
  942. 31:14are excited to teach. So, it's a good
  943. 31:16thing.
  944. 31:17Sometimes Sorry, you're working on
  945. 31:18sometimes less of a timeline there,
  946. 31:19especially if a if a machine's been on
  947. 31:21fire all summer. Now, if that same
  948. 31:22machine is a heli machine, now you got
  949. 31:25less of a window. So, I Yeah. Like good
  950. 31:28luck in trying to schedule people like
  951. 31:29that. Sorry, Mark, what were you going
  952. 31:30to say?
  953. 31:31I was going to say, I mean, the BTA is a
  954. 31:33little bit like PSEs. I mean, also Bell
  955. 31:35employees are actually customers of the
  956. 31:38BTA. I mean, every PSEs
  957. 31:40go through the BTA, CSC, same thing.
  958. 31:43They all go through the BTA to get
  959. 31:44trained. And that's also an opportunity
  960. 31:47for the PSEs and the CSCs to share with
  961. 31:50the instructors of some stuff that we we
  962. 31:52are seeing so they can actually go and
  963. 31:55and maybe modify or talk a little bit
  964. 31:57more about specific parts in their
  965. 32:00course with our customers so we can
  966. 32:02again share the information or specific
  967. 32:04stuff that we've seen. Yeah. Something
  968. 32:07something that might be unique to the
  969. 32:08region. Yeah.
  970. 32:10probably could have dealt with in
  971. 32:10another sector of the of the planet.
  972. 32:12Yeah. Yeah, I I would say to add to
  973. 32:14that, there are times where we'll be
  974. 32:16troubleshooting a system or a component
  975. 32:19and I'll reach out to the BTA. Hey, have
  976. 32:21you guys seen this? Can you go look at
  977. 32:23this in your tour down
  978. 32:25training aid to see, you know, or and
  979. 32:28they're I mean, they're super helpful.
  980. 32:29They'll they'll do everything they can
  981. 32:30to help the customer and help us. So, it
  982. 32:33and they share tools with us every once
  983. 32:35in a while. When we get in a pinch, you
  984. 32:36know, they have all the tooling, we'll
  985. 32:37have to borrow a tool every once in a
  986. 32:39while to help a customer out or
  987. 32:40whatever. We you know, we encourage
  988. 32:42customers to have their tools, but
  989. 32:44sometimes things happen, tools get broke
  990. 32:46or whatever, and it's okay, you know, we
  991. 32:48we we can help, and the BHT is right
  992. 32:50there to help. That's good.
  993. 32:51You know, until that next Mac truck or
  994. 32:54Mac tools comes around, you know, what
  995. 32:55do you call those guys? They're like
  996. 32:57like an ice cream truck, right? All I
  997. 32:58got to do is ring the bell, you see
  998. 32:59technicians running at the Snap-on or
  999. 33:01the Mac tools or whatever, you see them
1000. 33:03all dodging it, so it's yeah. Oh, yeah.
1001. 33:05Good for you guys being that helpful.
  1002. 33:07So.
  1003. 33:09Yeah,
  1004. 33:10you know, we're grow- we're grown adults
  1005. 33:11basically start running around like it's
1006. 33:13an ice cream truck because you hear the
  1007. 33:14Mac tool guy, right? So. So, it's a
  1008. 33:16Yeah, it's a mobile mobile toy store,
1009. 33:19you know, all your fun stuff.
  1010. 33:20yeah, I know.
1011. 33:22Excellent. So, the Bell service
1012. 33:23facilities, you guys I know are like
1013. 33:24world-class and including some of your
1014. 33:26your your I know the blade repair
  1015. 33:28facilities.
1016. 33:29Just kind of shine a light on that as
1017. 33:30well and like the accessibility into
1018. 33:32those if if somebody's having any type
  1019. 33:34of
1020. 33:35questions or inquiries, like where where
1021. 33:37where do they call it call into? Is it
1022. 33:38to the CSEs? And then they kind of get
1023. 33:40directed to there or just kind of walk
  1024. 33:42me through that?
1025. 33:44They can call either. They can call the
1026. 33:45CSEs or PSE, and we can get her
  1027. 33:47connected to Yeah, okay.
1028. 33:49Connected to the facilities. Like our
1029. 33:51blade shop, you know, once again,
  1030. 33:52they'll send uh
1031. 33:54they'll send technicians all over the
1032. 33:56world to do field repairs on blades.
  1033. 33:57They I was just talking
1034. 34:00I was just talking to the blade shop
1035. 34:01manager uh last week. Uh we were
1036. 34:04together at at the event, and he said
1037. 34:07he's had technicians going nonstop back
1038. 34:09and forth to Latin America for the last
1039. 34:10month and a half, you know. So, I mean,
  1040. 34:13they provide really
1041. 34:15really good field support, but also
  1042. 34:18they're they're focused on
1043. 34:20you know, their turn time for the
1044. 34:22customer's a big issue, you know, uh
1045. 34:24aircraft out of service, so they they
1046. 34:26really have made improvements in the
1047. 34:28turn times on getting blades repaired
1048. 34:30now at the door. And to that point, it
1049. 34:32ties back to PSE and the engineering
1050. 34:34group to get a repair when they have to
1051. 34:36go outside and get expanded repairs on
1052. 34:38some of these the blades that have
1053. 34:39damage or whatever. So, it All these
1054. 34:42these different business units work
1055. 34:45together. Exactly, yeah. for the same
  1056. 34:47goal.
  1057. 34:48You know,
  1058. 34:49supporting the customer. So,
  1059. 34:51and that
1060. 34:52that pretty much goes the same for our
  1061. 34:55our Bell-owned facilities like Bell
  1062. 34:56Miami. Uh we'll send technicians around
1063. 34:59all the all the facilities, Bell Padi
  1064. 35:01Flats, uh Prague, Singapore.
1065. 35:04You know, within the regulatory bounds,
1066. 35:06they can they can send folks out and do
1067. 35:09certain things with field support and
1068. 35:11such, you know. And we we have no
1069. 35:13problem doing that to help the customer
  1070. 35:15get things going. So,
1071. 35:17pretty good pretty impressive support
1072. 35:19network. And Let's put it that way. And
1073. 35:22if I may add that, Greg, a lot of the
1074. 35:23time what will happen is that either CSC
1075. 35:26or the PSE will be contacted. If we take
1076. 35:28example of a blade, for example, and
1077. 35:31then this customer found a damage on his
1078. 35:33blade. Okay, well, is it within the
  1079. 35:35maintenance manual? No, it's not. You
1080. 35:37actually have to send your blade for
1081. 35:38repair. That's where PSE and CSCs can
1082. 35:40refer our blade shop, and they we know
1083. 35:43that they have the capabilities to do
  1084. 35:44it, and they have everything that's
  1085. 35:46needed for to support that customer's
  1086. 35:48part. So, that's really where again,
1087. 35:51like Greg was saying, it kind of ties
1088. 35:53hand in hand for the support of of the
  1089. 35:55Bell products there.
  1090. 35:57yeah.
  1091. 35:58Awesome. Awesome. Just Like a 212 like a
1092. 36:01212 reference earlier, buddy. Robust.
  1093. 36:03Yeah.
1094. 36:03Yeah. Yeah, we try. Robust. And sexy as
  1095. 36:07a 429, Mark. I didn't drop you on that
  1096. 36:09one, man.
  1097. 36:09Sexy as a 429. Sexy as a 429.
1098. 36:13That You know what? That should be a
  1099. 36:14logo on a t-shirt. I'm as sexy as a 429,
  1100. 36:17baby.
1101. 36:17Yeah, I agree. Oh, there we go. Hey,
1102. 36:20there we go. That's new marketing plaque
  1103. 36:22right there, right?
1104. 36:23That's It's going to be our podcast
1105. 36:25motto right there. Our logo for the
  1106. 36:27podcast, right? Sexy as a 429. Rugged as
  1107. 36:32rugged as a 212, but as sexy as a 429.
1108. 36:35The best of both worlds, right there.
  1109. 36:37Yeah.
  1110. 36:37That's
1111. 36:37I think we're onto something here. You
1112. 36:39know what? For a young guy in the
  1113. 36:40organization, Greg, you're pretty smart.
  1114. 36:41You're pretty smart. I'm trying. I'm
  1115. 36:43trying.
  1116. 36:47Brag a little bit right now because I
  1117. 36:49know that's it's there's the cornerstone
1118. 36:50of success is always kind of dependent
1119. 36:52upon some of your partners as well, too.
1120. 36:53I know the CSFs and the AMCs you guys
  1121. 36:56are dealing with there, too. That's
1122. 36:57that's a process, too, and kind of
1123. 36:59supporting them in addition to your
1124. 37:00internal customers as well as your
  1125. 37:02external customers.
  1126. 37:03Exactly. That's got to be a heck of a
1127. 37:05undertaking, as well, to kind of manage
1128. 37:07all that and manage expectations of the
  1129. 37:09CSFs, too. So, really
1130. 37:13our CSF network, in my opinion, and I
1131. 37:16think is very well shared amongst the
  1132. 37:18the Bell folks, is it's a backbone to a
1133. 37:21lot of our field our support to our
1134. 37:22customers in region. Yep. Uh
1135. 37:25and we have some fantastic
  1136. 37:29CSF partners out there.
  1137. 37:31Uh
1138. 37:32So skilled and so willing to jump in and
1139. 37:35just help the customer with any sort of
1140. 37:37issue going on, and they care. Mhm. They
1141. 37:39all They're all like cut from the same
1142. 37:41cloth. They care about the customer.
1143. 37:43They They know they They fly the Bell
  1144. 37:45flag.
  1145. 37:47And
1146. 37:48you know, you you go around the world
1147. 37:50and Well, I'll give you an example.
1148. 37:52Please. We get We get aircraft that are
1149. 37:54are painted up here in Mirabel and
  1150. 37:56delivered to
1151. 37:58somewhere in the world, right? And some
1152. 38:00of them are flown. Some of them are
1153. 38:01flown. We had an aircraft going to
1154. 38:04Mexico last year, left here,
1155. 38:07got got part of the way there, had a had
  1156. 38:10a major issue with a windshield,
1157. 38:13and they diverted to a a Bell CSF. The
1158. 38:16CSF took them right in, changed the
1159. 38:18windshield, got them back up and
1160. 38:19running, and and met their requirements
  1161. 38:22to get on contract.
  1162. 38:23That's a tough.
1163. 38:25Heck of a pit stop. Well, yeah. And and
  1164. 38:28you know, so you
1165. 38:29face value go that's pretty cool, but
1166. 38:31think about the logistics. Think about
1167. 38:33having your facilities where you need
1168. 38:35you know where they need to be, you
  1169. 38:36know.
1170. 38:37Yep. And we have facilities located like
  1171. 38:39that, you know, they they're
1172. 38:41regionalized where they can help
  1173. 38:43customers, you know, uh
1174. 38:46in in their region, but they they're you
  1175. 38:48know, a lot of the CSFs are aren't
1176. 38:50opposed to going out and doing whatever
1177. 38:52they can for customers in the field as
  1178. 38:54well. I mean, they'll send maintenance
  1179. 38:56teams out. I've had guys in Hawaii. I've
1180. 38:58had them Yep. uh But they they're cut
  1181. 39:00from the same cloth. I mean, I I
  1182. 39:02actually I should say
1183. 39:03I started in the CSF world working on
  1184. 39:05bells. I did, too.
1185. 39:07a CSF and that's where you start.
  1186. 39:10Yeah. Yeah. So
  1187. 39:12you know, uh uh
  1188. 39:14They're they're a key The point is
1189. 39:15they're a key part to our support
1190. 39:17network. Uh Imagine when you get that
  1191. 39:19call you're in Mirabel if you're a CSF
1192. 39:21uh north you know, north of the 49th
  1193. 39:23parallel and it's January you know, it's
1194. 39:25cold. We need We need to send you down
  1195. 39:26to Hawaii to go fix a helicopter. It's
1196. 39:27like, "Oh, no." Oh, there's please twist
1197. 39:30my rubber arm. Oh, no.
1198. 39:35We'll go if we have to. We'll go if we
1199. 39:37have to. Yeah. Why are you packing all
  1200. 39:39that sunscreen? Don't worry about it.
  1201. 39:41It's safety first.
  1202. 39:42Absolutely. Absolutely. We won't We
1203. 39:44won't tell the wife, but we'll go.
1204. 39:47I'll have to listen to this podcast
  1205. 39:48Mark. We're done for. We're done for,
  1206. 39:50right? Yeah, we're done.
  1207. 39:53You you you
1208. 39:54You come home with a tan in January,
  1209. 39:55February when it's minus 30, minus 40,
1210. 39:57you ain't getting no love from anybody.
  1211. 39:59No. No. Nope. Nope.
1212. 40:01Except the customer that you just helped
  1213. 40:02out. That's about it. So
  1214. 40:07Awesome. Well, I know like I said, so
1215. 40:08working with your CSFs you know, good
1216. 40:10job on calling They are the backbone.
1217. 40:11They are the backbone of what you guys
1218. 40:12kind of go through and they are kind of
  1219. 40:14like you said, they're they're an
1220. 40:15extension of your of your front line
1221. 40:17support there. So, kudos to you for you
1222. 40:20guys for kind of vetting and kind of
1223. 40:21creating the CSX and you working with
  1224. 40:23particular AMC's now because the engines
1225. 40:25that fly in them So, I guess you got to
  1226. 40:26work hand-in-hand with that as well,
1227. 40:27too. So, there's got to be particular
1228. 40:29challenges in working with that as well.
1229. 40:30So, kudos to free you guys to do in
1230. 40:32that. Yeah, it it needs to be mentioned
1231. 40:34that it's not easy being a CSF and and
1232. 40:37maintaining that relationship with this.
1233. 40:39So, they put a lot into those holding
1234. 40:41those CSF, you know, certificates. Sure,
1235. 40:44they do. And so, when you when you're
1236. 40:45going to visit the CSFs, keep that in
1237. 40:47mind. Yeah. They invest in a lot of
1238. 40:49training. They get they they do a lot to
1239. 40:51just maintain that relationship with us
1240. 40:53at Bell. So, it yeah, that shouldn't go
  1241. 40:56unnoticed. You know, they're they're
1242. 40:58they invest a ton in in our in our
  1243. 41:01partnership. So, Mhm. it's good it's
  1244. 41:04good stuff.
  1245. 41:05Now, if you're going to if you're going
1246. 41:06to fly flag and carry a badge, you know,
1247. 41:08it's it's good thing to you know that
1248. 41:09your your facility is polished to kind
1249. 41:11of keep it up there. So, good work. Yep.
1250. 41:13Travel within the trade show side of the
1251. 41:15world. Now, this is this is the
1252. 41:15interesting part of stuff. The uh We
1253. 41:17can't call it HAI anymore. We got to
1254. 41:19call it the real cool name of Verticon.
  1255. 41:21Um
1256. 41:21Verticon, yeah. You know, talk to me
1257. 41:22about some of some of the stuff that you
1258. 41:24guys kind of go through cuz listen, you
1259. 41:25guys are one of the biggest uh if not
1260. 41:28the biggest kind of uh displays at every
1261. 41:30show that I'm ever at. So, you know,
  1262. 41:33let's let's talk about let's talk about
1263. 41:34Verticon and the trade shows and what do
1264. 41:36you guys have coming up and you
1265. 41:37including some you know what? Then maybe
1266. 41:39even reference some of the MNO dates cuz
1267. 41:40those are great little conferences. They
1268. 41:42are, yeah. I've always come away with
  1269. 41:43those
  1270. 41:44uh with a concentrated um concentrated
1271. 41:47contact amount of people that really
1272. 41:49want to be there and kind of learn what
1273. 41:51you guys are telling them. So, kudos to
1274. 41:53whoever you guys are planning with that,
1275. 41:54but just you know, kind of walk us down
  1276. 41:55that a little bit.
1277. 41:58There's a lot going on, obviously. So,
1278. 42:00I've I'll let maybe Greg talk after
1279. 42:02about the booth specifically, what we do
1280. 42:04in the booth, when to support everybody
1281. 42:07that's there. But, every event that we
1282. 42:09try to do, like Verticon and and other
  1283. 42:12stuff that we do. There's always a
1284. 42:14portion of it that is a presentation by
  1285. 42:17the PSCs.
  1286. 42:19And that's really technical updates that
1287. 42:21we do for our products. So, we always
1288. 42:23send at least two guys, one that will
1289. 42:25cover the lights, one that will cover
1290. 42:28the intermediate and then the medium
1291. 42:29aircrafts. And we discuss about new
1292. 42:32bulletins that have been released. Uh
1293. 42:34we'll discuss about obviously our
1294. 42:36support, uh any improvements that are
1295. 42:38coming, any any any new kits or whatever
1296. 42:43that could could be there, some
1297. 42:44maintenance tips sometimes. So, if
1298. 42:46you've been having trouble doing one one
1299. 42:48one thing, okay, we talk about it. So,
1300. 42:51these are always available every trade
1301. 42:53show that we do. Uh we do those. And
1302. 42:57also we are available to go at your
  1303. 42:59facility, but we'll talk about that
1304. 43:01after. So, I'll let Greg maybe discuss
1305. 43:04What's happening at the booth?
1306. 43:05Sure, sure. Yeah, please. Elaborate.
  1307. 43:07So, uh
1308. 43:09I you know, our role as CSEs, we we
  1309. 43:11support the demo team.
  1310. 43:14Uh
1311. 43:15With with these with these big like
  1312. 43:17Verticon for example, we'll move we'll
1313. 43:19help move aircraft into the booth, get
1314. 43:20the booth set up, and you know, that's
1315. 43:22logistically that is probably the most
1316. 43:25stressful part of my job.
1317. 43:27Is moving aircraft at a show like that.
  1318. 43:31Uh with everything that's going on
1319. 43:33around you and you're moving, you know,
  1320. 43:35seven, eight, nine, 15 million dollars
1321. 43:37worth of aircraft into one you know, one
1322. 43:39little mess up and it's like, "Whoa."
1323. 43:41But, we get them all in the booth, get
1324. 43:43them all set up, and uh this last year
1325. 43:45at Verticon or this year at Verticon, we
1326. 43:47tried something new Yep. where we had we
1327. 43:50actually had a PSC CSE kiosk where you
1328. 43:54could walk up and ask us any technical
  1329. 43:56question. And I manned it. I had a
1330. 43:57couple folks there. We had PSC folks
  1331. 43:59there. Cool. Uh
1332. 44:01And you just you know, I mean, it was
1333. 44:04I'd like to say it was a huge success
1334. 44:06because we had cust you know,
1335. 44:08maintainers come up asking this
1336. 44:09question. We had it a big screen TV
1337. 44:12right there hooked to our laptop. We'd
1338. 44:13pull up the information right there,
1339. 44:14discuss it with them, show them what we
1340. 44:16need, email them what they needed, you
  1341. 44:18know. Mhm. It was
1342. 44:20it was something we'd never done before,
1343. 44:23and it was it was fantastic, I thought,
1344. 44:26and really well received by
1345. 44:29by the customers coming by the booth,
  1346. 44:31but
  1347. 44:31Exactly.
1348. 44:32and we supplement the the presentations
1349. 44:35that PSC does. We'll be standing in the
1350. 44:38background, and if if customers you
  1351. 44:40know, let's face it, sometimes people
1352. 44:43or depending on the personality, they
1353. 44:44may not want to ask the question in a
1354. 44:45crowd. They may not just corner you in
1355. 44:47the in the corner of the room, and while
  1356. 44:48you're having a soda, they'll ask you a
1357. 44:50question, you know. So, we try to be
1358. 44:51available for them for that, too.
  1359. 44:53Mhm.
  1360. 44:55It's it's really
1361. 44:57it's fun, and the you know, the M&R
1362. 44:59knows we we haven't had or the excuse
  1363. 45:01the M&O conferences, we haven't had the
1364. 45:03any this year. We had we had some
1365. 45:05challenges with some other things going
1366. 45:07on, so we couldn't really schedule Sure.
  1367. 45:09uh
1368. 45:10any, but we're bringing them back, but
1369. 45:12one key point about the M&O conferences
1370. 45:15is that I know the folks that attend
1371. 45:16them get it, but if you haven't attended
1372. 45:18one, you need to attend the M&O
1373. 45:20conference, because this is this is
1374. 45:21where you network with the folks
1375. 45:24in your end of in your segment of the
1376. 45:26industry that really those relationships
1377. 45:29can help you down the road, too, with
  1378. 45:31what you're doing on main maintenance
  1379. 45:32side.
  1380. 45:33Exactly.
  1381. 45:34Yeah.
1382. 45:35That's that's the other key part of the
1383. 45:37of the M&O conference thing. And and the
  1384. 45:39Verticon, you know, we've got APCO
1385. 45:41coming up, which is Airborne Public
1386. 45:43Safety. That's going to be in Houston.
1387. 45:44you there. We'll have two PSCs going
1388. 45:47there. There's going to be IE renewals
1389. 45:48availability there for whoever needs
1390. 45:51training or or support there. We'll be
  1391. 45:53there again. Yep. That's a great
1392. 45:55concept, guys. Like to have to have a
1393. 45:57hands-on right there and then. Like
1394. 45:58don't get me wrong, you know, I've
  1395. 45:59worked at
1396. 46:00a ton of Verticons and HAIs, and you're
1397. 46:03standing there and you have some of the
1398. 46:04technical people there that quality, you
1399. 46:06know, maybe my quality manager can
1400. 46:07answer the question too right away. But
1401. 46:09if you have somebody dedicated right at
  1402. 46:11the help desk, that's that's that's next
  1403. 46:13level. Good work.
1404. 46:14Yeah. Yeah, that was that was that was
1405. 46:16thought up by by the team and you know,
1406. 46:18we supported it fully. You know, it was
  1407. 46:20it was
  1408. 46:21it's it's pretty cool actually and
1409. 46:24any show that has like Verticon that has
1410. 46:26demonstration flights that are going on,
1411. 46:28there's maintenance that needs to be
  1412. 46:30done on those aircraft.
1413. 46:31You know, to to maintain that demo
  1414. 46:34schedule whether it's a 25 hour daily
1415. 46:36whatever. We help the demo team do that
  1416. 46:38maintenance and that twofold,
1417. 46:41you know, number one, it helps unload
1418. 46:43the burden on the demo team to some
1419. 46:44degree but it also keeps us sharp on our
  1420. 46:47skills for that model.
1421. 46:48Does yeah. So, we actually get some
1422. 46:50hands-on which we you know, we can't
1423. 46:52touch customers' aircraft. We can
1424. 46:54provide, you know, consultation on how
1425. 46:56to repair it and and advise but you
1426. 46:59know, legally we're we we do not touch
1427. 47:01customers' aircraft, you know. Yeah. So,
1428. 47:04so that understandable. And when you and
1429. 47:05it's like any tool when you don't use it
1430. 47:07for a while it gets maybe not as
1431. 47:10sharp as it should be. So, you need to
1432. 47:12freshen up your skills. So, we we take
1433. 47:14that opportunity when we can to work on
1434. 47:15company aircraft as a CSE. So, we get
1435. 47:17our hands dirty on occasion. Got you.
  1436. 47:20And it's it's fun. The PSE's right there
1437. 47:21with us. They help us. So, it's pretty
  1438. 47:23cool.
1439. 47:24That's awesome. You know, to to the you
1440. 47:27know, to the general public eye they
1441. 47:28would just think that oh, those
  1442. 47:29helicopters just parked outside. It's
1443. 47:30you know, and they're there for the
1444. 47:31whole week and like you don't understand
1445. 47:32like those are live running machines
  1446. 47:35that need
  1447. 47:35Yeah, they are.
1448. 47:36daily looking at, right? So, it's Yeah.
1449. 47:38trying to kind of explain that to
1450. 47:40I will say one other thing that should
  1451. 47:42be said about
  1452. 47:43uh
1453. 47:44like the when we're doing demos at like
  1454. 47:46Verticon and all that,
  1455. 47:48our competition's there doing demos as
1456. 47:50well and we all help each other out with
1457. 47:52safety issues and everything and if if
  1458. 47:55somebody from another competitor needs a
1459. 47:56tool and we have it, we're going to
1460. 47:58help. Yeah. You know, we want we want
1461. 48:00everybody to be successful in those
1462. 48:02shows cuz it's not about them and us,
1463. 48:05right? And they they've helped us out
1464. 48:07and just want to, you know, give them a
1465. 48:09give them the recognition that the other
1466. 48:11OEMs are stand-up. We spoke about this
1467. 48:13with a couple of guests on our show.
  1468. 48:14It's it's literally, you said this
1469. 48:16earlier in the statement here earlier,
1470. 48:17guys, is that you don't know who you
1471. 48:19might call upon when in the time of need
1472. 48:20and it could be very well your
1473. 48:21competitor and they like 99.9% of the
  1474. 48:24times they help.
  1475. 48:25Yeah.
  1476. 48:25Yeah, absolutely. Yep. Yep. It's that's
1477. 48:28the cool thing about our little
1478. 48:29helicopter industry of ours that we
  1479. 48:30have. So, it's I'm I'm happy to say I'm
1480. 48:32a part of that and I've been a part of
1481. 48:33that to the point where I've kind of
1482. 48:35used it and actually supported it, too.
  1483. 48:36So, it's when you have somebody that's
  1484. 48:38in that's that's like in a bad pinch and
  1485. 48:40they can help you out, man, that's a
  1486. 48:42good person right there.
  1487. 48:43Yeah. Yeah.
1488. 48:45Yep. Maybe to expand also I want to
1489. 48:47maybe touch back on the Please. MNOs, so
1490. 48:50the maintainer and operator conference.
1491. 48:52Like Greg said, I mean, this year
  1492. 48:53there's there's nothing scheduled for
1493. 48:55now. So, there probably won't be any
1494. 48:58this year, but most likely next year,
1495. 49:00hopefully will be will have some.
  1496. 49:01Okay. But that's another opportunity for
  1497. 49:04customers to get trained and there's
1498. 49:07Bell that are there with the PSEs. You
1499. 49:09have two full days of of presentations
1500. 49:13and training that are available. We have
1501. 49:15a whole bunch of uh third party that are
1502. 49:18there for kits and stuff like that,
1503. 49:20which you can go and listen to their
1504. 49:23technical update that they have to do or
1505. 49:25a briefing that they have to do. So,
1506. 49:28again, usually we try to do like four
  1507. 49:30five a year, but this year there's none,
  1508. 49:33but we'll see next year. Hopefully
  1509. 49:34they'll be back.
  1510. 49:35Oh, I'm excited cuz
1511. 49:36please let us know when that when the
1512. 49:37calendar is released on those things.
1513. 49:39Every one of those MNOs that I've been
1514. 49:40to has been stacked with people that
1515. 49:43want to be there and stacked with a
1516. 49:45wealth of information that was given out
1517. 49:47by the presenters and like you say, the
1518. 49:48third party vendors like drive shafts
1519. 49:50and stuff, right? Like it's Drive Shaft.
  1520. 49:51Absolutely. Absolutely.
  1521. 49:53So,
  1522. 49:55But awesome. That's awesome. Okay, good
1523. 49:56to know about the M&O's. Good to know
1524. 49:58about M&O's. Yeah. To add to that, it
1525. 50:00shows our Yeah, to add to that to Mark's
1526. 50:03comment there, it shows our relationship
1527. 50:05with our vendors and how important it is
1528. 50:06to us to have that good relationship.
1529. 50:08Gives them a chance to kind of stand
1530. 50:09side by side with you at the at the
1531. 50:11M&O's. Like you get to stand shoulder to
1532. 50:12shoulder with you guys at the M&O's.
  1533. 50:13That's the best part.
  1534. 50:15Yeah, it's it's awesome. We're we're
1535. 50:17nearing the end here guys, but the the
1536. 50:18general I know the history of Bell and
1537. 50:20and kind of where you guys have kind of
1538. 50:22kind of actually happy belated birthday
  1539. 50:23to Bell because I think it's what
1540. 50:2589th birthday last week, right? So
1541. 50:27Yeah, last week. Yeah. So happy belated
1542. 50:30birthday to the Bell Helicopter family
  1543. 50:31there and let's you know, tell us a
1544. 50:33little bit about like the past of it
  1545. 50:35all.
  1546. 50:36Just a general kind of Cole's Notes
1547. 50:37version, but where you know, without
1548. 50:39getting into too much of the details,
1549. 50:40but where where we going for the future
  1550. 50:42boys?
  1551. 50:46Loaded. How's that for the pin-out of
  1552. 50:48the grenade?
1553. 50:49It's all flying saucers. Yeah, all
  1554. 50:51flying saucers.
1555. 50:54I mean, for now it's not a secret like
  1556. 50:56we still we're still manufacture like
1557. 50:58four aircrafts. Like we have the 505,
  1558. 51:01the 407, 429 and the 412 EPX now. So but
1559. 51:06going forward everybody heard about not
1560. 51:09going to go too much into detail about
  1561. 51:10the 525. Obviously hopefully will be
  1562. 51:13coming soon. So
  1563. 51:15that that's one that we're still working
1564. 51:17on looking at obviously paying a lot lot
  1565. 51:20more attention to it.
1566. 51:22So but yeah, I think as far as future
  1567. 51:25programs or
1568. 51:26future aircrafts coming in, well
1569. 51:29I'll let Greg talk about it.
1570. 51:32Having problems with the podcast
  1571. 51:34recording all OF A SUDDEN.
  1572. 51:38OH BOY, YEAH.
1573. 51:40WELL, you know, well, we we had a team
1574. 51:42that worked really hard on the military
1575. 51:43side to win the Valor 280 contract.
  1576. 51:45Exactly. Yeah, that's a good point. And
1577. 51:47that that is that is a huge contract for
  1578. 51:49Bell and we're executing and
1579. 51:53that's going to, you know, eventually
1580. 51:55down the line you will see like with
1581. 51:57everything some bleed off from there to
1582. 51:59other segments of the business, but
  1583. 52:01That's our focus. 280, 525, getting it
1584. 52:04out there and improving our products
1585. 52:06that are on the line now. Exactly.
1586. 52:08They're flying every day and uh
1587. 52:10Coming up. Lots of exciting things
1588. 52:11coming up. You guys have always kind of
1589. 52:12been able to kind of churn that, you
  1590. 52:14know, uh
1591. 52:15respectably to kind of always kind of be
1592. 52:17having something hyped up in your your
1593. 52:18you guys are definitely matching it. So,
1594. 52:20congratulations to you and your
1595. 52:21marketing team for doing that. So,
1596. 52:23on the marketing side of the people
1597. 52:24another one another standing ovation to
1598. 52:26the marketing people. Amen. Amen.
  1599. 52:31Yeah, I did there's just a lot of lot of
1600. 52:33things exciting things happening at
1601. 52:34Bell. It happens every day like I'm sure
  1602. 52:36everywhere.
  1603. 52:38But we're fortunate. Yeah.
1604. 52:40I've said this a lot to we work with
1605. 52:42some really good honest people.
  1606. 52:46And it's it's a good thing. It's easy to
1607. 52:49come to work every day when you know
1608. 52:50you're working with the caliber of
1609. 52:51people we get to work with every day.
  1610. 52:53Yeah. So,
  1611. 52:55and we're very fortunate. That's
1612. 52:56correct. What do they say? The talent of
1613. 52:58the talents of the hand is what clinches
  1614. 53:00the fist, right? So,
  1615. 53:01Yeah.
  1616. 53:02That's right. Yeah.
1617. 53:03Awesome. Awesome. Hey, anything on that
  1618. 53:05one, Mark? We're good with it? I'm good
  1619. 53:07with it.
1620. 53:09Well, we got to talk about one we got to
1621. 53:11talk about one one at least kind of one
  1622. 53:12little tech talk. We're going to we're
1623. 53:14going to open it. We're going to crack
1624. 53:15the egg wide open and we were talking
1625. 53:16about earlier. I think you were kind of
1626. 53:17mentioning earlier the use of contact
  1627. 53:19enhancers.
  1628. 53:20Yeah. Yeah. Yeah,
1629. 53:22I'll feel free to elaborate. Let's make
  1630. 53:23this conversation technical.
1631. 53:25All right. So, here we go. So, uh
  1632. 53:27Don't put too much.
1633. 53:33Follow follow the instructions on the
  1634. 53:34package.
  1635. 53:36No, the uh
1636. 53:38a lot of a lot of things so like with
  1637. 53:40contact enhancers like I touched on a
  1638. 53:42little bit earlier. We'll get We'll get
  1639. 53:43calls where you're having uh
1640. 53:46a variety of of electrical like cast
  1641. 53:50message, failure messages, or
  1642. 53:51communication messages uh
1643. 53:54uh fadec issue messages, stuff like
  1644. 53:56that.
1645. 53:57We We have seen in the last, I would
1646. 53:59say, correct me if I'm wrong, Mark,
1647. 54:01maybe the last year, year and a half, 2
  1648. 54:03years,
  1649. 54:04that uh
1650. 54:05a lot of these issues can be resolved by
1651. 54:07just cleaning the connectors, the cannon
1652. 54:09plugs, and cleaning off the excess
1653. 54:11contact enhancer. We used to promote
1654. 54:14contact enhancers to be in the cure-all
  1655. 54:16for everything.
  1656. 54:17Now we're paying We're We're reaping the
1657. 54:19rewards of that because uh you know, for
1658. 54:22example, someone may go in and be
  1659. 54:23troubleshooting or doing routine
  1660. 54:24maintenance, disconnect a cannon plug on
  1661. 54:26the fadec control.
  1662. 54:28They'll They'll clean it up a little
1663. 54:29bit, throw a little contact enhancer on
1664. 54:31there, put it back together.
  1665. 54:33Three three months later,
1666. 54:35B shift mechanic comes in, does the same
1667. 54:37task, puts a little contact enhancer on
  1668. 54:39there.
1669. 54:40Next thing you know, you got contact
1670. 54:41enhancer dripping out of the connector.
  1671. 54:44Oh, boy.
  1672. 54:44And it's jumping It's It's making
1673. 54:46contact path between the pins instead of
1674. 54:49just enhancing the pin contact with the
1675. 54:51socket. So, now then you get all these
  1676. 54:53erroneous,
  1677. 54:54uh you know, non-related electrical
1678. 54:56failures, and we we go back and just
  1679. 54:58recommend, "Hey,
1680. 55:00go back, check your cannon plugs, clean
1681. 55:02them up. You know, clean them with the
1682. 55:04the appropriate cleaner, dry them out,
1683. 55:07put them back together, see if your
1684. 55:08problems go go away." Yeah.
1685. 55:10Uh there's always residual contact at he
  1686. 55:13at
  1687. 55:14at enhancer
1688. 55:16in those plugs, no matter how hard you
1689. 55:18dry I mean, you really have to clean
  1690. 55:19them hard to
1691. 55:20to uh clean them up, you know, to get it
1692. 55:22all out of there, but uh
  1693. 55:24we have seen
  1694. 55:25uh
  1695. 55:26like I say, it's trending more where
  1696. 55:28people will
1697. 55:30you whether they do it intentionally, I
1698. 55:32don't think so, but they end up having
1699. 55:35more than enough contact enhancer on
1700. 55:36their on the connections and it leads to
  1701. 55:38a lot of problems.
  1702. 55:40And it's it's more the other thing that
1703. 55:42adds to this with these integrated
  1704. 55:44avionics suites
  1705. 55:46and the
1706. 55:47the low voltage signal that's used, it
  1707. 55:50doesn't take much of a voltage
1708. 55:53uh you know, a millivolt to jump a pin
  1709. 55:56will trigger some fault.
  1710. 55:58So
1711. 55:59So that I mean, that's kind of the stuff
1712. 56:01we want to get into I mean, that's not
1713. 56:03kind of that is the stuff we want to get
1714. 56:04into. Hey good practices, clean those
  1715. 56:06up, dry them out
1716. 56:07and plug them back in and then unplug
1717. 56:10them again and have a look at the pins.
1718. 56:11If they're wet, you still got plenty of
  1719. 56:14contact enhancer in there, you're good.
  1720. 56:17Don't don't do anything.
1721. 56:18You know. And maybe a little tip to add
1722. 56:21to that Greg, think about what you just
1723. 56:23done. I mean, if something shows up uh
1724. 56:26Yep. in the morning and you you've just
1725. 56:28done maintenance and you know that
1726. 56:30you've actually touched that specific
  1727. 56:32connector. I mean
1728. 56:33most of the time that's where your issue
1729. 56:35will be. So just think what was done on
1730. 56:38the aircraft, what have I done on the
1731. 56:39aircraft lately that could actually
1732. 56:41cause this issue and go and check it
  1733. 56:43out. So
1734. 56:44Recap your steps. Yeah. Yep, back up on
1735. 56:47your steps. Yep, back back step,
1736. 56:49backtrack and figure it yep. Yeah, good
1737. 56:52point Mark. Good point, excellent point.
1738. 56:54Awesome. Awesome. And this is the one
1739. 56:56this is this is exactly what I think
1740. 56:58we're going to kind of get into here
  1741. 56:59guys. Like I said, it's super super
1742. 57:00exciting Bell Tech Talk Tech Talk
  1743. 57:02platform.
1744. 57:04Oh how much will just the sale alone
1745. 57:06but having having this Tech Talk
1746. 57:08available now to our listeners here and
1747. 57:10kind of like having them tune in,
1748. 57:11putting this in your ear pods and you
1749. 57:12know, the next segment here will
1750. 57:13probably lead off with particular, you
1751. 57:15know, uh technical service data or
1752. 57:18technical data or something that we kind
1753. 57:19of walk through with you with your
1754. 57:21experience of course. Now at the end of
1755. 57:22the day if you need support from PSC
1756. 57:25product support at Bell site, fairly
  1757. 57:27easy. I mean, somebody is going to it's
1758. 57:30probably going to be even faster than if
1759. 57:32you send it to me directly. So, because
1760. 57:34we have a whole bunch of people looking
1761. 57:36at those email inboxes and Since you're
  1762. 57:39podcast you're you're podcast famous
1763. 57:41now, if you if you
1764. 57:42if they don't answer you right away, go
1765. 57:43go right to the go right to the service
  1766. 57:44centers.
  1767. 57:45Yeah, that's it.
1768. 57:47Yeah. And it's the same process. You may
1769. 57:49not know who your CSE is or that it may
1770. 57:52have changed or whatever. So, just go go
1771. 57:54to the My Bell site and
1772. 57:56look at the map there and you can you
1773. 57:58can click on your little your area and
1774. 58:00it'll pull up who you need to call if
1775. 58:01you need anything. So, There you go. At
1776. 58:03the end of the day, it's all about
1777. 58:04keeping you up and flying, right?
1778. 58:05Keeping you up and flying and
1779. 58:06supporting. It is. It is. Safety. Flying
1780. 58:10safely. So, to that note, gents, this
1781. 58:13has been an awesome podcast that we
  1782. 58:15we've experienced a couple of technical
  1783. 58:17hiccups. We'll get through it. A little
1784. 58:18bit of editing magic will happen.
1785. 58:20But, you guys have been you guys have
1786. 58:21been awesome guests. Spectacular guests.
1787. 58:24Thank you for the spotlight. Thank you
  1788. 58:25for the initial
1789. 58:27tech talk, Bell tech talk.
1790. 58:30And I look forward to kind of really
1791. 58:31really sitting down with you guys more
1792. 58:32on this and and you know, unearthing a
1793. 58:34bunch of more topics here as we go
1794. 58:36along. So, thanks for all of that and
1795. 58:37I'll see you next week in App Scout.
  1796. 58:38Yeah.
  1797. 58:39Right on. Perfect. That'll be fantastic.
1798. 58:41Hey, you know, just one real thing one
1799. 58:43last thing real quick. Please, yeah.
1800. 58:45Customers if if customers have something
1801. 58:46they want us to talk about, they need to
  1802. 58:48let us know. Yeah. That's right.
  1803. 58:50Absolutely.
1804. 58:50That's right. Yeah. Yeah, you beat me to
1805. 58:52the punch on that one, Greg. If if we're
