- 2:09>> Yes, sir.
- 2:10>> Great. Good.
- 2:12Okay.
- 2:14So, let me
- 2:17Okay. And then I will turn the recording
- 2:20on.
- 2:23Uh let's see.
- 2:31Okay. Where it is recording?
- 2:35>> Yes, it is recording.
- 2:37>> Yeah, but where is it? On my computer or
- 2:40>> computer?
- 2:43Okay. Okay. Good. Good. All right. Very
- 2:45good.
- 2:48So I want to share with uh with all of
- 2:52you today actually for last two days.
- 2:57>> Yes sir.
- 2:58>> Yeah. Okay.
- 2:59>> Yes sir.
- 3:01>> Okay. Good. Good.
- 3:05Okay.
- 3:07So, so for what I was going to say was
- 3:10uh for last two days I have been uh uh
- 3:15taking classes
- 3:17of uh you know AI entrepreneurship.
- 3:24So interesting part is
- 3:27that uh we can do if we start doing that
- 3:32AI entrepreneurship
- 3:34we can do all the business planning and
- 3:38all of that stuff you know the
- 3:42in in just in just one day
- 3:47just one day we can do all of that
- 3:55business model that you can do just in
- 3:58one day. However,
- 4:01the in the intervention
- 4:04intervention entrepreneur intervention
- 4:07entrepreneur intervention
- 4:12model
- 4:15you know it you give it input and it
- 4:18gives you output back.
- 4:23So now you have to verify whether that
- 4:26output is correct or not.
- 4:36You know, we have to there's nothing no
- 4:38data available in our
- 4:42in in our hostel room or or right at the
- 4:46BI BIT we have or or JUT your institute.
- 4:52You have to go out of your institute to
- 4:56actually look at the u uh look at the uh
- 5:00and verify that uh the unmet need which
- 5:04you have identified which you told the
- 5:07AI that this is the unmet need and now
- 5:11you have to go back to the customer and
- 5:13verify. So customer is intervention
- 5:17human intervention
- 5:20jewelry.
- 5:25But what we need to do is we need to use
- 5:29we need to use the AI the all the
- 5:33intelligence tools right all the
- 5:37uh which are GPT who I gemini who uh
- 5:42which I
- 5:44you know cloud and there are many many
- 5:46of those and so maybe after the we'll
- 5:51talk about that after uh after the first
- 5:54midterm
- 5:58And all of you can learn it. You can
- 6:01learn that that skill
- 6:05which everybody else is learning. So you
- 6:08have to learn that too. But you are the
- 6:11one who can take the most advantage of
- 6:13it. Entrepreneur can take really a big
- 6:17advantage of it.
- 6:21Entrepreneurship.
- 6:23It is a repeatable, scalable and
- 6:26profitable
- 6:28customer discovery.
- 6:31Right?
- 6:35Financial statement
- 6:37all the terms like a bit
- 6:41right. So, so all of you students you
- 6:44know you are learning that. So you are
- 6:46already getting the skills way ahead of
- 6:49everybody else.
- 6:51So
- 6:57I'm so excited
- 7:02and get you.
- 7:05Okay. So
- 7:14all right.
- 7:22>> [snorts]
- 7:22>> Who who are the who are the C can you
- 7:26just uh uh all the faculty can you just
- 7:30unmute your mic microphone and just uh
- 7:34uh just introduce yourself so that we
- 7:37know how many of uh uh our dedicated uh
- 7:43faculty are there
- 7:50so and I will also No. Okay. Good. Well,
- 7:53I'm I see a lot from the Al Kabir.

- 9:01>> Oh
- 9:03>> yeah, you can unmute yourself.
- 9:06>> Yep.
- 9:07>> Mic.
- 9:08>> Yes sir.
- 9:10>> Hello

- 22:38get it.
- 22:40>> Very good.
- 22:48Okay. Very good.
- 22:49>> So, please begin the class.
- 22:52>> Yes. Yes. We're just about to
- 22:59we will begin the momentarily.
- 23:09Okay.
- 23:13All right,
- 23:15welcome. We have uh uh 243 students.
- 23:22So
- 23:23>> one question.
- 23:25>> Mhm. Go ahead.
- 23:28So first 15 minutes are question
- 23:30answered. So Professor Roy will be
- 23:33monitoring that. So Professor Roy, can
- 23:35you take over please?
- 23:39>> Sure. Go ahead. Ask your question
- 23:41please.
- 23:54very
- 24:04easy.
- 24:08First of all, three things are very
- 24:10important
- 24:12to please gain knowledge.
- 24:17Number two,
- 24:19gain experience in the field that you
- 24:23want to develop your product.
- 24:26Number three, you must be an expert.
- 24:31Expertise
- 24:34remember
- 24:37is not very easy
- 24:41experience
- 24:42then the things will become slightly
- 24:45easier for you to do
- 24:49along with the product
- 24:52customer
- 24:54you'll be able to explain them very
- 24:58clearly
- 24:59and and more important
- 25:04funding or financing.
- 25:08If you are an expert in the subject,
- 25:11you'll be very clear with your
- 25:14objectives
- 25:16and up.
- 25:20So abi until and unless
- 25:24you think that you are expert in what
- 25:28you plan to do
- 25:36because
- 25:37after sometimes you will gain all the
- 25:40three and the chances are chances of
- 25:44your success is going to be much higher.
- 25:49>> Okay sir. Thank you.
- 25:50>> Did you get my point? Did you get my
- 25:52point, Kushi?
- 25:56>> Okay. Thank you.
- 25:58>> Thank you so much.
- 25:59>> Very very very well said. Very well said
- 26:02that.
- 26:05Professor Roa, you must you should have
- 26:08attended the first three classes. Just
- 26:11key emphasis was given to try to find
- 26:15out an unmet need.
- 26:18Unmet need.
- 26:20or with zero investment
- 26:24you should be able to build your company
- 26:28zero investment
- 26:32free digital tools available market
- 26:36so you can use those tools uh to to
- 26:40build your business
- 26:44>> not only that uh professor
- 26:47>> you know most of the institute
- 26:50available
- 26:53and and
- 26:57prototype.
- 26:59You can do a digital prototype of that
- 27:02[clears throat] fully functional
- 27:04and with those drawings you can say this
- 27:08is my proto or
- 27:12how the functionality because you can
- 27:16display that full prototype in its
- 27:18working condition.
- 27:20>> Yeah.
- 27:21>> And and that is how you'll be able to
- 27:24make your prototypes much sooner.
- 27:29It's very easy to make prototypes
- 27:32to go ahead and do the digital version
- 27:37of your project
- 27:40and then when everything is all set, the
- 27:44customer is ready, he has given you an
- 27:47okay to build the product for him, go
- 27:50ahead and start building that.
- 27:54Okay. Yeah. Uh there's uh
- 27:57Vivit your hands are you're raising your
- 28:01hand. Unmute yourself and ask a question
- 28:03please.
- 28:16If not then I will I would again
- 28:24the purpose of this
- 28:27is to induce all the skills that are
- 28:30required either to be an entrepreneur or
- 28:34to start working for an industry.
- 28:37Indry
- 28:40department.
- 28:42We'll be working in a mode of
- 28:45entrepreneurship.
- 28:57customers
- 28:59root cause analysis
- 29:02and all of these are very important when
- 29:06you start building your own company.
- 29:10You want to make sure
- 29:18so that you can have a fair advantage
- 29:23regarding quality
- 29:28and feature of your products.
- 29:32And
- 29:41A high very high percentage of these
- 29:44students will go and work for an
- 29:47industry and this class is also teaching
- 29:51them how to prepare for the industry.
- 29:55How to prepare for internship which will
- 29:58lead you towards this industry.
- 30:02skills develop is all that we are
- 30:05talking about. This course
- 30:10is preparing you for the future
- 30:14and remember you'll be using this for
- 30:17the rest of your life.
- 30:22Seriously
- 30:24not
- 30:28then it will make it much easier for you
- 30:30to understand the subject matter in this
- 30:34class today.
- 30:38So thank you. Any other question? Any
- 30:40other question that you have?
- 30:46Raise your hand. Questionitation
- 30:59and you will be ready for an interview.
- 31:05interview
- 31:10please unmute yourself question
- 31:20go ahead please
- 31:22good morning
- 31:24sir my name is Kumari I from
- 31:26governmentar
- 31:29sir question
- 31:43>> [laughter]
- 31:48>> business with a partner.
- 31:52Both of you must be motivated
- 31:55towards the same goal.
- 31:58difference of opinion
- 32:01but the conclusion should always be the
- 32:03same
- 32:05and that is how you will design a
- 32:08product which is much better.
- 32:11Okay. Two ideas always are better than
- 32:14one and and the process of elimination
- 32:18should take place
- 32:23and remember teamwork is very important.
- 32:28Do not do not think that uh you are the
- 32:32soul and you are the best. Nay others
- 32:36are equally good
- 32:41which are good and better than you.
- 32:47team quality
- 32:49for example you will require
- 32:53in your team someone who is good at
- 32:55programming someone who's good as AI
- 32:58someone who's good in mechanical someone
- 33:00who's good in uh marketing
- 33:05team
- 33:08then you start really in a good startup
- 33:12mode so these are the team that you
- 33:15should involve
- 33:21misunderstanding
- 33:25it's a mismatch
- 33:27which
- 33:29>> so
- 33:31whatessective
- 33:45Objective
- 33:53jective
- 33:55solution.
- 34:08It doesn't have the mindset.
- 34:12So
- 34:16if you are the leader everybody every
- 34:18everybody in a team is a leader
- 34:20actually. So
- 34:45important.
- 34:47So it is very
- 34:57guarantee
- 35:01discussion
- 35:08Then your product won't be best.
- 35:21agree
- 35:27that that's a good one.
- 35:31And if you don't believe
- 35:43So data
- 35:47okay very good same thing same thing is
- 35:50very true in industry also
- 35:54department
- 35:59your point of view and and and always
- 36:02carries the data with you as your backup
- 36:07data only then you can analyze the data
- 36:10that's that's how you'll come up to the
- 36:12root cause of the problem and as a team
- 36:16we will be able to solve it.
- 36:18>> Okay. Uh Anika please uh unmute and ask
- 36:23your question.
- 36:26>> Good morning sir. I'm Anika Dub from
- 36:28Chavas Engineering College.
- 36:30>> Sir I have two questions. uh one is that
- 36:34how do I explain my ideas to someone who
- 36:37actually knows nothing about it be it an
- 36:40investor or someone I want to partner
- 36:42with and my second question is uh how is
- 36:45persuading someone different from
- 36:47manipulating them because in my mind if
- 36:50I think about persuading someone I have
- 36:52to you know force uh them to think like
- 36:57myself so isn't it kind of manipulating
- 37:00them.
- 37:03>> Number one, you can never manipulate
- 37:07your customer. Remember that the
- 37:10customer is always the boss. You have to
- 37:14listen to the voice of your customer
- 37:17before you speak up. And and once you
- 37:21know what the customer is looking for,
- 37:24then try to sell your idea to him. And
- 37:29and that is you don't manipulate with
- 37:32the data. Remember manipulation word.
- 37:36Don't use that word you know then then
- 37:38you're trying to do something
- 37:41to achieve something else. But you
- 37:44convince your customer that your product
- 37:46is the best. You convince your team that
- 37:49your product which is being developed
- 37:53should fulfill the need of the customer
- 37:57and and customer basic requirement
- 38:02you'll be very successful. Number first
- 38:05question you ask
- 38:16simple language
- 38:19then you are the best
- 38:28then you are the best in marketing
- 38:31marketing
- 38:33TV ads are so simple are they complex ad
- 38:37that is being shown TV ad are very
- 38:41simple easy to understand
- 38:46you'll be very successful
- 38:49>> okay yeah professor take those two
- 38:51question and then we'll go into the this
- 38:54review and
- 38:56did you understand or is any follow-up
- 38:59question you have
- 39:00>> yes about the persuasion and
- 39:02manipulation different. That's exactly
- 39:04what my doubt was that if I persuade
- 39:06someone, isn't it kind of like me
- 39:08manipulating them and thank you for
- 39:10clearing it that I should prioritize the
- 39:12customer or investor whoever I need to
- 39:15cater to. Thank you, sir.
- 39:16>> Good. Thank you very much. Okay, let's
- 39:19let's take up uh
- 39:22uh who's this?
- 39:25>> Hello. Hello.
- 39:27>> Manzar. Hello. I'm Arlan.
- 39:30>> I'm Arlan Manzer from BA college.
- 39:32>> So my question was [clears throat] like
- 39:35in this world of uh the current trend of
- 39:38AI there are a lot of changes going on
- 39:40in this world like a person who has been
- 39:43uh in a field for the five years gets
- 39:45replaced by AI and it is diversifying in
- 39:47its field. First it was coding now it's
- 39:50design and it is also making its move
- 39:52towards a research area. So uh like is
- 39:55there even any
- 39:57uh benefits to like actually you know
- 40:00like studying the things uh giving work
- 40:04over a thing
- 40:08you know that question has always been
- 40:11discussed
- 40:17if you are already have the knowledge
- 40:23There are many successful people who did
- 40:26not even go to college.
- 40:30Example
- 40:33because they are just extraordinary
- 40:36extraordinary
- 40:38then the things are things are
- 40:40different.
- 40:42But for most of us including myself we
- 40:46have to take the basic training first.
- 40:54AI
- 40:58then I would say you're ready you're
- 41:01ready for the industry and if you are
- 41:04really expert in doing it perhaps you
- 41:08will be an excellent
- 41:11uh storyteller
- 41:13and and you can work as a consultant
- 41:16actually right right from today because
- 41:19industry Remember
- 41:23the word
- 41:24>> that uh sharpen your saw you know seven
- 41:28habits
- 41:30professor
- 41:32the last thing is sharpen your saw and
- 41:34AI is the is that tool that you will
- 41:40sharpen your own saw all the time you
- 41:43you'll have the right tool of doing that
- 41:45to where will AI lead I do not know But
- 41:50definitely definitely it is making a
- 41:53huge impact day by day.
- 42:00We come to know that it is for the
- 42:02benefit
- 42:04of us.
- 42:10So
- 42:11>> thank you. Thank you. I I do not know if
- 42:14that answer was uh to your expectation
- 42:16or not but again AI is something unknown
- 42:20and is going to do revolution in
- 42:23industry. So, so I'll tell you students
- 42:46So [clears throat and cough]
- 42:47it important
- 42:57that
- 43:07just imagine Obviously,
- 43:15you don't need to know. But what you
- 43:18need to know is what question to ask.
- 43:22What you have to do is is make a a
- 43:26flowchart.
- 43:42Once if you can do that and
- 43:46you don't need any technological
- 43:48knowledge
- 43:49you don't need any experience
- 43:55problem solve
- 43:58first problem you solve yourself
- 44:03AI
- 44:09Can you calculate this for me?
- 44:12Can you find out?
- 44:15Can you find out? Just say uh very
- 44:17simple.
- 44:21So he's he he did his AI to so I said
- 44:26Milan I I really want to know
- 44:31class.
- 44:36Are we delivering the right stuff or
- 44:38not?
- 44:40Students.
- 44:46Okay. So, let me just Sorry. I
- 44:49apologize.
- 44:52I apologize.
- 44:56Okay. So, so
- 45:02those are the things which which which
- 45:04we ask. Okay. And
- 45:11then he did he made a little agent or
- 45:16agent
- 45:19J.
- 45:22They are taking a class from professor
- 45:25Suresh Roy and professor Romesh Shadav.
- 45:29Are they uh what are they saying about
- 45:32that class? Is there a data on that?
- 45:37data publish they they got that data
- 45:42and and based on that I was pretty
- 45:46pleased actually
- 45:49professors
- 45:51students
- 45:52you know they they said that yes this
- 45:54was an important class and we want to
- 45:56learn more about it
- 46:01change professor and myself we're going
- 46:04to change that class for the next uh uh
- 46:08next session. So that it is uh because
- 46:10it is live pivot right word pivots
- 46:15change
- 46:17pivot
- 46:24correction
- 46:27that correction has to be implemented
- 46:29right away.
- 46:31Okay. So, so that's the speed of the
- 46:34correction,
- 46:41right? So, we need to do that correction
- 46:44right away.
- 46:46Okay. All right. So,
- 46:49Professor
- 46:53Yeah,
- 46:54>> that's the last one. That's the last
- 46:56one, please. Yeah.
- 47:01Oh, he he he yeah he done. Okay. Okay.
- 47:06So, uh now what we'll do is we're going
- 47:08to take the class and we'll take the
- 47:10question at the professor Roy will take
- 47:12the question at the end of the class.
- 47:14Okay. All right. Students welcome
- 47:16welcome to this class and we have almost
- 47:19uh uh we spend the first uh uh first 20
- 47:25minutes 21 minutes uh we we spent on the
- 47:29on the question QA that's what we do all
- 47:32the
- 47:41You are.
- 48:02So you have to you have to be curious.
- 48:07You have to be curious. You have to be
- 48:09creative. You have to be a critical
- 48:12thinker.
- 48:19Mindset.
- 48:21So problem first lecture
- 48:25that was problem to possibility. Okay.
- 48:29And uh uh so
- 48:32all the questions we are going to take
- 48:34now at the end of the class. Vikram you
- 48:37can lower your hands. We will take your
- 48:39question at the end of the class. Okay.
- 48:41So first we did problem to
- 48:42possibilities. I hope all of you all
- 48:46every student has got the uh has got the
- 48:49slide deck for that and also you got the
- 48:53video for that. I shared that with
- 48:55everyone. Okay. And uh
- 48:59uh I shared the link also last time.
- 49:03And then so now it is
- 49:16college.
- 49:36They improved. They became better and
- 49:39better and but then
- 49:43uh and they became better because they
- 49:45had the knowledge.
- 49:5822nd.
- 50:08All of a sudden,
- 50:19information.
- 50:27But that information is available.
- 50:41GPT
- 50:45Gemini XD
- 50:53how good is this idea?
- 50:56Where can I apply this idea?
- 50:59Where can I find the customer
- 51:02from this for this idea?
- 51:05So draft that. So
- 51:13initial information
- 51:25That's why it is called new economy,
- 51:27right? New economy, curiosity and
- 51:30creativity based
- 51:35machine.
- 51:37Is that a broken machine or is that an
- 51:40opportunity
- 51:42to find a solution so that the machine
- 51:45never breaks down
- 51:50here? Now you're fortunate you will be
- 51:53going through the internship internships
- 51:56sub up ab up each and every student
- 52:01should start internship as soon as
- 52:03possible
- 52:06and get ready get ready to be a problem
- 52:09solver
- 52:11problem solver intention
- 52:14mindset if it becomes a problem solver
- 52:20you are becoming becom
- 52:23entrepreneur you are becoming stepping
- 52:26into the entrepreneurship.
- 52:30So problem solver
- 52:32you have done lot of studies you have
- 52:35lot of knowledge you don't need money to
- 52:37solve any problem
- 52:41you can because you can solve that
- 52:42problem with your knowledge base with
- 52:45your uh curiosity and creativity uh with
- 52:48your critical thinking. So mindset to
- 52:51mind shift
- 52:53mindset.
- 52:56Mindset
- 53:06we cannot do anything. You accept
- 53:09whatever is available.
- 53:13You accept whatever is available. And
- 53:15but
- 53:17mind you have to do mind shift. That
- 53:19means you have to start thinking.
- 53:44So those are you
- 53:51then you will become
- 53:54you have mind shifted and you are
- 53:57jumping you are coming into
- 54:06entrepreneurship or entrepreneurship.
- 54:13Okay. So, so that's what you have to
- 54:15think and thinking
- 54:24subject matter topic.
- 54:31You know, you should go back and
- 54:42discuss
- 54:43document your learning will be multiple
- 54:47times.
- 54:51So and then of course leadership
- 54:55leadership you know there was a question
- 54:57earlier
- 54:59you know mindset different leadership is
- 55:02empathetic leadership that means
- 55:18Then all of a sudden you'll realize, "Oh
- 55:20my god, this is great.
- 55:37both are important.
- 55:41So leadership acquire skill
- 55:47to to go towards so that compensation
- 55:54compensation it was from five lakhs to
- 55:5855 lakhs 242
- 56:02package
- 56:04minimum that was 5.5 lakhs maximum 50
- 56:07lakhs
- 56:18Both of them are smart. It's not that
- 56:21that the student.
- 56:30So you are all of you are smart. So
- 56:43skill set
- 56:49or keep on learning. Keep on learning.
- 56:52Acquire skill. Acquire your skill.
- 57:06And then
- 57:08standard deviation
- 57:25skills. It's going to decrease the
- 57:28standard deviation
- 57:32average compensation.
- 57:36Okay. So,
- 57:39think smart.
- 57:42Think smart. Smart. S M A R T.
- 57:48Right.
- 57:49Smart.
- 57:53I have talked about it in this class.
- 57:55And uh but we'll we'll talk more. And
- 57:58then may make AI work for you.
- 58:02Make AI work for you.
- 58:18mostly
- 58:21how can we how can we do
- 58:24entrepreneurship
- 58:27so I got the very good answer from them
- 58:31and that's what we are focused on
- 58:34okay [snorts] unmet need an unmet need
- 58:39unmet you found the unmet need
- 58:43filter We talked about that. And then
- 58:47identifying the
- 59:03You found the unmet need.
- 59:24So
- 59:26the these are the course that's what
- 59:28this course is going to teach you. It's
- 59:30this course is going to make you very
- 59:31smart actually
- 59:34or
- 59:35skill these skills are going to stay
- 59:38there for rest of your life and you I
- 59:41guarantee you that you will always keep
- 59:43on thinking about it. Oh you know we are
- 59:46so we learned this in our
- 59:48entrepreneurship class. So student will
- 59:51learn the lifelong skill to have a
- 59:54positive mindset.
- 59:56Positive mindset,
- 59:59mindset,
- 1:00:04creativity,
- 1:00:12right? We hear that all the time. That
- 1:00:15is a negative thing. Look at what are
- 1:00:18the opportunities.
- 1:00:23Be creative and curious. Be a critical
- 1:00:25thinker. Be an excellent communicator.
- 1:00:28Become an empathetic leader.
- 1:00:32Empathic
- 1:00:34strength.
- 1:00:38Work with the strength of team member.
- 1:00:40And then you say how these skill will
- 1:00:44benefit you to have a successful career.
- 1:00:53Sadhar,
- 1:00:55logical
- 1:00:57and so important you learning you are
- 1:01:01learning that how these skills will
- 1:01:03benefit you to have a successful career.
- 1:01:08You can do that.
- 1:01:12Master critical thinking
- 1:01:15and then critical thinking
- 1:01:20develop
- 1:01:24mindset
- 1:01:32question.
- 1:01:38No, no, no. That is not the
- 1:01:44That's not what you do. What you're
- 1:01:46trying to do
- 1:02:01where can we improve? What can we do? So
- 1:02:05that's what it is. So
- 1:02:17That's what you will learn.
- 1:02:20Negative.
- 1:02:23That's okay. When you are going to going
- 1:02:26expressing uh your idea and the other
- 1:02:29person says no no that idea is no good.
- 1:02:34You don't get angry. You don't get
- 1:02:36insulted. No, that is just an opinion.
- 1:02:47discussion
- 1:02:50why it is why that idea is good or
- 1:03:00what do you think we should do
- 1:03:05to pivot
- 1:03:07pivot so and then when you learn that
- 1:03:12gain the tools to to lead your own
- 1:03:14venture.
- 1:03:18You'll feel so confident
- 1:03:22leader leader you'll become a business
- 1:03:25leader.
- 1:03:27You will either you'll become a job
- 1:03:29provider
- 1:03:30company you'll you'll become a business
- 1:03:33leader. you'll become like uh like uh
- 1:03:38Amrindu Prakash
- 1:03:42who who is heading up the sale at that
- 1:03:44time. So
- 1:03:48AI has made
- 1:03:51knowledge based economy obsolete.
- 1:03:58Uh
- 1:04:00majority of the people knowledge based
- 1:04:03economy
- 1:04:17Knowledge based economy
- 1:04:24it is gan is the information really
- 1:04:29information and if you can get the
- 1:04:31information
- 1:04:34if you have access to the information
- 1:04:37then all you have to do is use that
- 1:04:38information to do whatever you're trying
- 1:04:40to do.
- 1:04:43So AI has made knowledge based economy
- 1:04:45obsolete and has replaced it with
- 1:04:48curiosity
- 1:04:50and creativity based economy. Curiosity
- 1:04:54CU
- 1:04:56R I O S I T Y. Curiosity creativity. C R
- 1:05:01E A T I V I T I. Right.
- 1:05:06Unmet need. Unmet need.
- 1:05:19simple.
- 1:05:26That is a unmet need.
- 1:05:29Why cannot that be fixed?
- 1:05:44And then you look at
- 1:05:48unmet need.
- 1:05:51Unmet need
- 1:05:53local industry,
- 1:06:02local
- 1:06:07building
- 1:06:11access accessibility.
- 1:06:32Go to the principal of the college
- 1:06:39and take responsibility.
- 1:06:42Okay. Or to find out those unmet need.
- 1:06:53obvious need versus latent need.
- 1:07:04I think I will ask professor Roy to give
- 1:07:07that example. Professor Roy, can you can
- 1:07:10you give an example of this uh uh hidden
- 1:07:13need and then real need?
- 1:07:18You know I I just want to take
- 1:07:22talk about something different
- 1:07:27because I work in large industry and
- 1:07:31also as an entrepreneur
- 1:07:34large industry
- 1:07:37and one of the main topic that we
- 1:07:40discuss during any
- 1:07:44project development is risk assessment.
- 1:07:49What this is
- 1:07:58because
- 1:08:00while developing a product there will be
- 1:08:03issues that will come up
- 1:08:06and risk assessment
- 1:08:10then you'll be able to overcome that
- 1:08:13problem much faster because you know how
- 1:08:17to handle it. So these and and most of
- 1:08:21the things that you're learning here
- 1:08:24are required as an engineer when you're
- 1:08:28going to work for a corporation when
- 1:08:30you're going to work for an industry no
- 1:08:32matter small medium or large industry
- 1:08:40professor.
- 1:08:42He he's he's focusing right from the
- 1:08:45point of view of entrepreneurship like
- 1:08:48because I have I've been working in both
- 1:08:50the industry. I can say 100% of what
- 1:08:54you're learning here will be useful when
- 1:08:58you join an industry and this is what is
- 1:09:01going to make you more smart because now
- 1:09:04you're used to all these terms that are
- 1:09:06being spoken up interview.
- 1:09:10If you can guide the interview towards
- 1:09:13these type of talks in which you really
- 1:09:16have experience, you have the data, you
- 1:09:19already know how to come up with the
- 1:09:21root cause of the problem,
- 1:09:24you become an asset to that company.
- 1:09:32And I I believe I believe
- 1:09:36entrepreneur when I came out came out of
- 1:09:39school I never thought I'll become an
- 1:09:41entrepreneur till I gained experience
- 1:09:45and it is that experience
- 1:09:49problems that you required to solve
- 1:09:53and one of those problem
- 1:09:59to explain is there was The wire mesh
- 1:10:04and and this is sand
- 1:10:07different category
- 1:10:10mesh by which you filter to different
- 1:10:13size
- 1:10:17lot of dust and hard stones to this
- 1:10:21particular smallcale industry
- 1:10:27rather we went to him because we wanted
- 1:10:29to help the local industries And we ask
- 1:10:32what is your main problem?
- 1:10:46It's almost like that
- 1:10:50because stones come and they break this
- 1:11:03up with the corrective action that he
- 1:11:05should do. Instead of rocks really
- 1:11:08falling from four to 5 ft of height
- 1:11:11impact,
- 1:11:14we told them that take this as a very
- 1:11:17gradual
- 1:11:19angle.
- 1:11:28and then incline it so that it goes on
- 1:11:31the wire mesh.
- 1:11:34All of a suddenly every day mesh
- 1:11:38maintenance
- 1:11:39now using this process all of a suddenly
- 1:11:43his yield went up because downtime.
- 1:11:48Secondly, we made that wire mesh design
- 1:11:51change so that you can replace it almost
- 1:11:54immediately rather than repairing it.
- 1:11:56repairing.
- 1:11:58So you have one wire mesh that is
- 1:12:00already ready after repair
- 1:12:04problem
- 1:12:07and it works very fine.
- 1:12:10The nagging problem problem that happens
- 1:12:13every day and lot of frustration. All of
- 1:12:16suddenly we could see the smile on his
- 1:12:19face because now his problem was almost
- 1:12:23gone. it it's it was reduced to almost
- 1:12:27like a noise level.
- 1:12:30So this is this is the very unique
- 1:12:33example which improved the process. So,
- 1:12:37so here you know if you look at that
- 1:12:40obvious need versus a latent need right
- 1:12:43that uh that business owner he said you
- 1:12:47know I'm losing lot of money
- 1:12:51well why am I losing money I'm losing
- 1:12:54money because
- 1:12:56the efficiency of separating the
- 1:12:59different material was very slow
- 1:13:04but he didn't know what to do about it
- 1:13:07and then the team, Professor Roy and his
- 1:13:10team went and they kind of looked at it.
- 1:13:12Oh, you know, it's nothing to do with
- 1:13:14the it's not that they're losing money.
- 1:13:18Everybody's working very hard,
- 1:13:22but the the system the process is not
- 1:13:25right.
- 1:13:27The the tooling was has to be improved
- 1:13:30and that's what they did. So the hidden
- 1:13:32the hidden thing was the tool had to be
- 1:13:35improved.
- 1:13:38The tool had to that was the hidden
- 1:13:40message latent need. That was the latent
- 1:13:43need. The tool tool needed an attention
- 1:13:47instead of obvious need
- 1:13:50customer you know I'm losing a lot of
- 1:13:53money or or my system is inefficient
- 1:13:56anyway. So that's why
- 1:14:01just say customer oh I'm losing money
- 1:14:05well then you as a entrepreneur or
- 1:14:09entrepreneur you say okay you say okay
- 1:14:11yeah you're losing money then you say
- 1:14:13what is the process you go do your
- 1:14:15homework there ask them and then zero in
- 1:14:18on why they are losing money
- 1:14:22the object is for the customer to not
- 1:14:24lose money and once you have determined
- 1:14:26that you know you you you are a winner
- 1:14:30All right. So,
- 1:14:52process
- 1:14:54angle.
- 1:14:58So that was all the hidden need that was
- 1:15:01the real actual need which was latent
- 1:15:04need. Thank you professor Roy for
- 1:15:06changing that. So find an unmet need of
- 1:15:10customer in your class.
- 1:15:13In your class I have uh I have requested
- 1:15:18all of you given you an assignment
- 1:15:21that find an unmet need
- 1:15:25what it is and write a sentence
- 1:15:30about the problem statement.
- 1:15:33So
- 1:15:35what needs you have identified? So
- 1:15:39identified your own unmet need.
- 1:15:45Identify unmet need.
- 1:15:49You are a student.
- 1:15:52What are your unmet need? And identify
- 1:15:56who will fill up those needs.
- 1:16:04So if you have to look,
- 1:16:08you have to look.
- 1:16:20have to look, search with your eyes and
- 1:16:23ears open to spot and identify
- 1:16:29need.
- 1:16:33Can you find
- 1:16:35where would you find this need? There
- 1:16:37are no customer in your room.
- 1:16:44unmet need.
- 1:16:56These are the unmet need.
- 1:17:01You have to find the customer. You have
- 1:17:03to find out unmet need. Is the unmet
- 1:17:07need of professor Suresh Roy? Is it the
- 1:17:10unmet need of of the professor Dr.
- 1:17:14Mahmud or it is professor Romesh Shadav
- 1:17:17need you have to talk you have to talk
- 1:17:20to professor Roy professor Mahmud and
- 1:17:22Romesh shad right you have to do that
- 1:17:26so can you find without going out of
- 1:17:28your room no you cannot find so you have
- 1:17:32to go out very important this is a there
- 1:17:35are no customer there is no data in in
- 1:17:39your in your room there's no customer in
- 1:17:42your room so You have to that is the
- 1:17:45first thing the you as a entrepreneur
- 1:17:48you as a entrepreneur
- 1:17:50you have to if you want to find the
- 1:17:52unbending you have to go out
- 1:17:55you have to go out
- 1:18:00professor even buddy buddy company maybe
- 1:18:03there are advanced marketing people who
- 1:18:06go out and talk to the customers
- 1:18:09>> y
- 1:18:09>> as to what what else they would need in
- 1:18:14future.
- 1:18:15>> Yeah.
- 1:18:17>> That is applicable to all the industries
- 1:18:19also.
- 1:18:20>> Yeah.
- 1:18:22So unmet need.
- 1:18:44the proper churnney material and the
- 1:18:47angle of attack that should have been
- 1:18:49changed.
- 1:18:51That's what he did. So,
- 1:18:54Professor Roy and his team understood
- 1:18:56that
- 1:19:00customer
- 1:19:04is losing money.
- 1:19:08Customer is losing money. And so that's
- 1:19:10what his pain point is. How can you help
- 1:19:13out?
- 1:19:22Where are those unmet need? You can find
- 1:19:23out,
- 1:19:36right? You have to you can find that
- 1:19:38out.
- 1:19:40So
- 1:19:42you have to you must
- 1:19:45you must identify a unmet need and you
- 1:19:49must be able to and
- 1:19:55problem statement
- 1:20:00identify that
- 1:20:04smart
- 1:20:10You know, you must see, oh, you got a
- 1:20:12smartphone.
- 1:20:14You got a smartphone. You got a smart
- 1:20:17TV. You are you got a smart automobile.
- 1:20:21You get the smart word used is
- 1:20:23everywhere.
- 1:20:26Oh, you are a smart student.
- 1:20:29You are a smart businessman. That word
- 1:20:32is used everywhere.
- 1:20:34What does the smart stand for?
- 1:20:37You have to understand that.
- 1:20:50Rose
- 1:20:55smart. So smart sification.
- 1:21:22end result. You have to identify, you
- 1:21:25have to define, you have to be very
- 1:21:27specific.
- 1:21:50Bathroom. Bedroom.
- 1:21:53Drawing room.
- 1:21:57Dining table.
- 1:22:15Just imagine
- 1:22:18when you told him
- 1:22:20you were not specific. You did not tell
- 1:22:32When we give instruction,
- 1:22:35we should be very careful. Make sure
- 1:22:39that we set the expectation right.
- 1:22:42That's specific
- 1:22:49measurable.
- 1:22:58What is that measurement?
- 1:23:01That's that's that's M a is achievable
- 1:23:08a achievable
- 1:23:11because that is very important right.
- 1:23:22So you have to say
- 1:23:26achievable.
- 1:23:28Are there tools available to achieve all
- 1:23:30that? That's what you kind of you have
- 1:23:34to think about when you give a give
- 1:23:36instruction. Smart instruction
- 1:23:39are are relevant.
- 1:23:56You have to be relevant. Last
- 1:24:02time bound
- 1:24:04time bound
- 1:24:17take it that you will do smartly.
- 1:24:20You will do smartly. You'll be specific
- 1:24:23instruction.
- 1:24:25You'll be specific.
- 1:24:28You'll be specific
- 1:24:30and then it'll be measurable.
- 1:24:36The criteria of success
- 1:24:40achievable
- 1:24:46and then relevant
- 1:24:48time.
- 1:24:52So these are the things. So next time
- 1:24:54when you see smart you know just I think
- 1:24:57all these things will come to your mind
- 1:25:00and when you talk to somebody you know
- 1:25:03when you go for interview you say you
- 1:25:06know I I worked on with the smart
- 1:25:08principle which we learn in our
- 1:25:10entrepreneurship class smart principle
- 1:25:14and see the person who is interviewing
- 1:25:16you he will be so happy and he'll just
- 1:25:18ask you what do you mean by what does it
- 1:25:20mean by smart and then you can say just
- 1:25:31grow.
- 1:25:34growth
- 1:25:39exponential growth
- 1:25:41or
- 1:25:45exponential
- 1:25:48then you get abundance
- 1:25:51the mindset
- 1:25:56growth that will be the exponential
- 1:26:00growth. There's a linear growth and
- 1:26:03there's a exponential growth. Linear
- 1:26:06growth.
- 1:26:09Everything is exponential growth. Yeah,
- 1:26:12you know you you you went from 1G to 2G
- 1:26:15to 3G to 4G and 5G
- 1:26:19difference
- 1:26:21from 300
- 1:26:24kilow kilobyte to all of a sudden you
- 1:26:28know 1 megabyte and then 100 megabyte
- 1:26:31and then terabyte.
- 1:26:34You see that kit
- 1:26:37how much exponential growth was there?
- 1:26:40So
- 1:26:45key technology convergence
- 1:26:48very important
- 1:26:50technology convergence.
- 1:27:02Think about think give an example. Think
- 1:27:05about any example what you can think of
- 1:27:08in in technology technology man. Look at
- 1:27:12look at this uh uh this this little
- 1:27:15little smartphone right little phone
- 1:27:18iPhone right
- 1:27:21the smartphone.
- 1:27:28You had the uh you had the telephone
- 1:27:32landline.
- 1:27:34You had the radio, big radio. You had
- 1:27:38the the television.
- 1:27:41You had the CD player. You had the DVD
- 1:27:44player. And you had so many other
- 1:27:47things. The camera, you had you had a
- 1:27:50temperature measurement.
- 1:27:52All those things were there. and a
- 1:27:56everything all of those things have
- 1:27:59converged into this little thing.
- 1:28:03this little thing, right? So
- 1:28:10technology convergence
- 1:28:13technology.
- 1:28:18Look at look at just
- 1:28:22example example of technology
- 1:28:24convergence.
- 1:28:26We talked about the telephone, right?
- 1:28:27Smartphone.
- 1:28:29Smartphone.
- 1:28:32Phone. Camera. Music player.
- 1:28:36Global positioning system.
- 1:28:38Web browser
- 1:28:42torchology
- 1:28:47converge
- 1:28:50and it became
- 1:28:53that's why their people understood the
- 1:28:55advantage. It is it is like a not only
- 1:28:58it is a computer but it is a torch also
- 1:29:00for you. It also gives you the health
- 1:29:02information.
- 1:29:06That's what the convergence did. So
- 1:29:09exponential growth you have convergence
- 1:29:12is one of the reason for that.
- 1:29:17That is the example of convergence.
- 1:29:19Drone.
- 1:29:21Drone may
- 1:29:23drone. Uh a delivery drone conver.
- 1:29:41They are delivering food.
- 1:29:44Self-driven
- 1:29:47small. It's self-driven and it is
- 1:29:49delivering the food
- 1:29:52and so drone may drone technology
- 1:29:57it drone technology convers GPS
- 1:30:01satellite navigation
- 1:30:03advanced digital cameras and sensors
- 1:30:07wireless communication
- 1:30:09electric motor AIdriven automated flight
- 1:30:13software into a single system.
- 1:30:19So that's what it has done. How
- 1:30:21convergence happens instead of using
- 1:30:24separate tools
- 1:30:27separate tool tools
- 1:30:30tools
- 1:30:33and connect. So this instead of using
- 1:30:37separate tools for the flight control,
- 1:30:39mapping, photography, data analysis, a
- 1:30:42single drone combines all of these to
- 1:30:45perform these complex
- 1:30:48things. So
- 1:30:51adha delivery drone say GPS, navigation,
- 1:30:57digital camera, sensor, wireless,
- 1:31:01electronic motor, AI,
- 1:31:05automated flight software,
- 1:31:17right? mapping
- 1:31:20drone,
- 1:31:22photography, data and lot of data
- 1:31:25analysis is done right that's all of
- 1:31:28those things are donereneur
- 1:31:34manif
- 1:31:40there are no facts inside your building
- 1:31:43so get outside this is the most
- 1:31:46important
- 1:31:54entrepreneur, entrepreneur,
- 1:31:57business leader,
- 1:31:59you are a job provider. This is the most
- 1:32:02important thing. Everything is
- 1:32:04customercentric
- 1:32:06customer.
- 1:32:15problem
- 1:32:16solution. You are a you are a solution
- 1:32:21provider.
- 1:32:23You are a solution provider.
- 1:32:28So opportunity
- 1:32:36circumstances
- 1:32:55compensating behavior
- 1:33:02example
- 1:33:06they will every day every day they're
- 1:33:08changing the
- 1:33:10changing that filter.
- 1:33:19So that was more expensive, right?
- 1:33:21Without realizing that what they're
- 1:33:23doing that was a more
- 1:33:27and last
- 1:33:28criteria
- 1:33:32success.
- 1:33:39So
- 1:33:44now what you have done is by this you
- 1:33:48have identified the need.
- 1:34:02Is it marketable?
- 1:34:22That's how that market that's why you
- 1:34:25you learn the the TAM and Sam
- 1:34:33ITM and initial target market that's
- 1:34:36that's what you learn from this. So
- 1:34:39opportunity
- 1:34:42market and then you go sustainable
- 1:34:45competitive position. That means
- 1:34:56compete market.
- 1:35:01How would you make sure that you always
- 1:35:03sustain that creativity
- 1:35:06by what you will do? So what you will do
- 1:35:08is
- 1:35:11what you will do is you'll have lot of
- 1:35:13patents
- 1:35:19so that competition
- 1:35:22look at look at you know Apple
- 1:35:38So and so that's how Apple always
- 1:35:42defines that you know sustainable
- 1:35:44competitive position
- 1:35:47scalable business.
- 1:36:00Of course.
- 1:36:05Of course.
- 1:36:07Because now you have to have more labor.
- 1:36:09Of course, you have to buy more tools or
- 1:36:12testing equipment.
- 1:36:22Your profit actually goes higher and
- 1:36:24higher.
- 1:36:26So that is a scalable business. So why
- 1:36:29us? Why now? Well,
- 1:36:35you are you have put together a team
- 1:36:39which is very very smart team
- 1:36:43which are all every unique individual
- 1:36:46has their own strength and you are
- 1:36:49working with their strength and all of
- 1:36:51you are very
- 1:36:56clean.
- 1:37:05So became part
- 1:37:16we have a good team and we have a
- 1:37:17knowledge and we have seen that there is
- 1:37:19a market out there.
- 1:37:22That's why it is why us and why now. And
- 1:37:26when that happens, that is where market
- 1:37:29validation take place.
- 1:37:31You will get the customer paying you for
- 1:37:34for your for your work.
- 1:37:38So what skills make a successful
- 1:37:40engineer?
- 1:37:44How how how
- 1:37:48what are the skills required? So
- 1:37:52you know we are trying to do this class
- 1:37:56we are going to the flip classroom
- 1:37:58concept just say that's why I we share
- 1:38:02professor Roy and myself we we share the
- 1:38:04the slide deck a week before we share
- 1:38:08the video a week before so that you can
- 1:38:10look at it
- 1:38:12you and then uh you proficiency in
- 1:38:17zerocost digital tools
- 1:38:21zero cost digital tool. So leverage
- 1:38:23accessible technology, Google sheet,
- 1:38:26WhatsApp business, no code tools, AI
- 1:38:29tools, right? Those are all free for you
- 1:38:31to do it for use. It's a start. All of
- 1:38:34you, all of you should be using the chat
- 1:38:38GPT, the Gemini,
- 1:38:41uh the cloud and the X in verifying
- 1:38:46whatever you are doing in verifying.
- 1:38:49Make sure that uh that uh
- 1:38:53your development what you do you can
- 1:38:56always test those. So
- 1:38:59get get yourself start using it right
- 1:39:04now.
- 1:39:07right now majority of the use of uh um
- 1:39:11of uh uh of the AI platform
- 1:39:16majority of the use is just like is like
- 1:39:20a Google search that's what it it is
- 1:39:23being done but this tool is much much
- 1:39:25more
- 1:39:27uh it can make decision for you so you
- 1:39:31say not only not only data
- 1:39:35okay So, so you say okay look at this
- 1:39:38data
- 1:39:39and analyze this data
- 1:39:42and tell me what this data is saying.
- 1:39:46Your AI will do all of that stuff. It'll
- 1:39:50do that. Okay. So,
- 1:39:55outcomedriven mentorship to
- 1:39:56employability.
- 1:39:58Make sure you have a mentor
- 1:40:04or
- 1:40:12They are the mentors.
- 1:40:18You should make your your faculty as
- 1:40:21your mentor or other teachers as your
- 1:40:24mentor or businessmen as your mentor.
- 1:40:28unclea
- 1:40:34mama
- 1:40:36they're all kind of in some some
- 1:40:39respectable position they can be your
- 1:40:42mental mentor the mentor up
- 1:40:46you have to look for it so outcomedriven
- 1:40:50mentorship for employment
- 1:40:52team building
- 1:40:57Team building, team, empathetic
- 1:41:00leadership,
- 1:41:03storytelling.
- 1:41:05How would you tell your your story? With
- 1:41:08curiosity and creativity. Student build
- 1:41:10working prototypes that boost placement
- 1:41:13outcome. Student internship
- 1:41:17and seriously internship
- 1:41:20their employment [clears throat]
- 1:41:22opportunity goes very high.
- 1:41:25So here so building lifelong
- 1:41:29capabilities
- 1:41:30journey from problem to possibility
- 1:41:34problem to pro possibility
- 1:41:37find the why
- 1:41:48assemble a team
- 1:41:51students
- 1:41:53they're all getting together and They're
- 1:41:55kind of discussing so freely what are
- 1:41:58the what are the ideas what what they
- 1:42:01have to do find the why assemble a team
- 1:42:04turn idea into action
- 1:42:08and build
- 1:42:10lifelong capabilities
- 1:42:24family
- 1:42:26it doesn't matter.
- 1:42:29So possibilities and opportunity
- 1:42:33you turn into opportunity and then
- 1:42:36opportunity impact
- 1:42:40solution deploy.
- 1:42:43See that you deployed the new solution.
- 1:42:46You you gathered the team and you say oh
- 1:42:48you found the unmet need and you you did
- 1:42:51a new solution to that.
- 1:42:55So pivot from fixing the machine to
- 1:42:58fixing the problem.
- 1:43:02Fixing the machine to fixing the
- 1:43:04problem.
- 1:43:07I just say [clears throat]
- 1:43:09you will uh lifelong capability. Acquire
- 1:43:13the capability
- 1:43:15designed to support your career journey.
- 1:43:19become a proficient
- 1:43:23job
- 1:43:24whether it's electrical mechanical
- 1:43:28science.
- 1:43:30Make sure that you put your truly smart
- 1:43:34effort there.
- 1:43:37Know everything what there you need to
- 1:43:39know. No shortcut.
- 1:43:42You have to learn and think like a
- 1:43:44innovator. Learn smart problem solving.
- 1:43:49long-term planning
- 1:43:52and quick and confident choice.
- 1:43:55Even when you do not have all the
- 1:43:57answers,
- 1:44:02you cannot know. You cannot for
- 1:44:03guarantee.
- 1:44:08You cannot tell.
- 1:44:10But you can prepare yourself for that.
- 1:44:13you can plan for the long-term journey
- 1:44:16and you can take the quick action.
- 1:44:20So when you do not have all you do not
- 1:44:23have all these answers but still you
- 1:44:25have a choice. So build a habit of
- 1:44:27noticing daily problem around you
- 1:44:37like a broken pump
- 1:44:40or a blocked village road
- 1:44:44that can be fixed without spending a
- 1:44:46single rupee.
- 1:44:49Those problems are solvable.
- 1:44:52Turn ideas into action. See ideas into
- 1:44:56action. Ideas here the ideas they are
- 1:45:01coming ideas turning ideas into action
- 1:45:08and shape the future. That means shape
- 1:45:11your future. Shape your future. Gain the
- 1:45:14skill to lead business. Adapt to
- 1:45:16challenges and boost your job prospects
- 1:45:2110 times by building real working model.
- 1:45:26When you find unmet need, go deep into
- 1:45:29it. Actually, go all the way from
- 1:45:32beginning to the end.
- 1:45:35You will have such a rich experience
- 1:45:38which is going to help you out for rest
- 1:45:40of your life.
- 1:45:42Core mindset,
- 1:45:45the engineer, problem identifier and
- 1:45:48solution provider. You are a solution
- 1:45:51provider.
- 1:45:54You are providing a solution to the
- 1:45:56customer.
- 1:45:59I just say no soap.
- 1:46:03Soap
- 1:46:04your customer buys the soap.
- 1:46:08But really dand
- 1:46:12is providing a a solution.
- 1:46:21clean.
- 1:46:23So cleaning material,
- 1:46:28solution provider,
- 1:46:30critical thinking and good presenter,
- 1:46:33excellent storyteller, empathetic leader
- 1:46:36with curiosity and creativity mindset.
- 1:46:42Now who is the faculty customer,
- 1:46:48right? And then uh
- 1:46:52uh the the teacher teacher ask who is
- 1:46:54the faculty's customer?
- 1:46:59Think about it.
- 1:47:01Faculty
- 1:47:03professor Roy Dr.
- 1:47:07Alam and Dr. um murman all of these
- 1:47:13profitu that's all all these are
- 1:47:16[clears throat]
- 1:47:17all these are faculty
- 1:47:20so we're asking
- 1:47:23who is faculty's customer
- 1:47:25so very interesting faculty's customer
- 1:47:30see that C
- 1:47:33see here C
- 1:47:36customer who is that customer so faculty
- 1:47:39is customer are the students.
- 1:47:45Faculty's customer are the students.
- 1:47:48Remember that. That's it. You are the
- 1:47:51customer because you you are paying
- 1:47:55uh you paying the the expenses of the
- 1:47:59university
- 1:48:01through your individual um tuition fee
- 1:48:05or individual fee class fee which you
- 1:48:08are paying with that. So your capability
- 1:48:12today broken machine or unblocked
- 1:48:15opportunity.
- 1:48:17You are in fifth semester. An expensive
- 1:48:20piece of lab equipment breaks down.
- 1:48:23Stalling critical project. Everyone is
- 1:48:26waiting for a technician except the
- 1:48:29institute director offers to pay
- 1:48:3250,000
- 1:48:34if you get it running in 10 days.
- 1:48:37Machine
- 1:48:52the the students like you they you are
- 1:48:55not able to get the data
- 1:49:01because the machine is wrong machine is
- 1:49:03not working.
- 1:49:06So what would you do? Broken machine or
- 1:49:10unlocked opportunity. What are you going
- 1:49:12to do? So the team came together. Look
- 1:49:14at this. The team coming together.
- 1:49:19Team coming together. Right. So your
- 1:49:22choice.
- 1:49:25What is your choice?
- 1:49:28It's a broken machine or unluck
- 1:49:29opportunity. The choice decision. You
- 1:49:32report to the lab assistant and wait.
- 1:49:36lab,
- 1:49:39you know, I don't own the machine. I
- 1:49:41cannot do it. It's a
- 1:49:44fold.
- 1:49:48Try to fix it yourself using standard
- 1:49:51course manuals.
- 1:50:00Different technologies because it is a
- 1:50:02converged convergence of different
- 1:50:05technology.
- 1:50:06It is a complex you try to fix it. So it
- 1:50:10is a complex
- 1:50:12machine. So the obviously you know maybe
- 1:50:16you you want to roll up your sleeves and
- 1:50:18you say okay I will do it and then
- 1:50:23third option is diagnose the problem
- 1:50:26assemble a team and charge for the
- 1:50:28solution
- 1:50:32machine
- 1:50:35okay I'm going to get the team assemble
- 1:50:43or I'm going to uh and then I'm going to
- 1:50:47charge it for the solution. So what will
- 1:50:51be your answer?
- 1:50:53What will be your answer?
- 1:50:57That's what you have to think.
- 1:51:00So engineering fixes the machine
- 1:51:08but that machine is
- 1:51:13We cannot you know it is very hard for
- 1:51:16one person to really have all the
- 1:51:18expertise. You have to have a support
- 1:51:20from somebody. So engineering fixes the
- 1:51:24machine.
- 1:51:27Entrepreneurship fixes the problem for
- 1:51:31the paying customer.
- 1:51:33Right? The difference
- 1:51:36right
- 1:51:48let us fix that problem.
- 1:51:57So engineer looks at the broken machine
- 1:52:00and fixes it. An entrepreneur looks at a
- 1:52:04broken frustrating daily problem
- 1:52:08out of alignment.
- 1:52:11It is frustrating.
- 1:52:14An entrepreneur looks at the broken
- 1:52:17frustrating daily life problem fixes it
- 1:52:20using engineering and charges a fee for
- 1:52:23it.
- 1:52:24You do not need capital,
- 1:52:28right? You do not need capital.
- 1:52:31You need an eye for spotting things that
- 1:52:34are broken. Remember we talked about you
- 1:52:37do not need you do not need any money to
- 1:52:40become an entrepreneur. You don't to to
- 1:52:42find an unmet need. You don't need
- 1:52:44money.
- 1:52:45All you have to have is your eyes and
- 1:52:48ears open sharp.
- 1:52:54And in this class we'll only design
- 1:52:56projects where your financial risk is
- 1:52:59exactly zero.
- 1:53:02So next time you know when Tata, Vro,
- 1:53:05Samsung, Amazon, Mita, sale, IT
- 1:53:08companies etc. when they come to J for
- 1:53:10the interview campus placement next
- 1:53:12year, students will answer the question
- 1:53:16related to the subjects which they
- 1:53:19mastered in and they say well I cleared
- 1:53:21all my papers and I did very well
- 1:53:25right and in all the theory and
- 1:53:27practical papers but then your turn
- 1:53:30comes and you say yes I all that you did
- 1:53:34of course but then you say in addition
- 1:53:36to all the other things technical
- 1:53:38background
- 1:53:39uh sub mastery in my subject matter. I
- 1:53:43also built a prototype system that
- 1:53:46automated local market tracking for
- 1:53:49users by using free tools. Imagine you
- 1:53:53are telling that you did all this and uh
- 1:53:56with zero investment and you you did it.
- 1:54:02So
- 1:54:05you gain how do you gain advantage? You
- 1:54:08gain advantage.
- 1:54:13You You eye for spotting things that are
- 1:54:16broken.
- 1:54:20Eye for spotting things that are broken.
- 1:54:23Simple things around you. Let's look at
- 1:54:26our own state hearken. our college, our
- 1:54:29hostel, our playground, our village, our
- 1:54:32community, our home and spotting those
- 1:54:35broken things.
- 1:54:39Internship
- 1:54:41go fully prepared.
- 1:54:48What is their business?
- 1:54:50How do they make money?
- 1:54:52Where they are losing money?
- 1:54:55Which product? Which company produces
- 1:54:57are really uh in the market and they're
- 1:55:00accepted great. Uh there's a huge market
- 1:55:03for that. Which product which they are
- 1:55:05producing? There's hardly any any uh any
- 1:55:09any market for that. What are the
- 1:55:12problems? Major problems of that
- 1:55:14industry.
- 1:55:16financial information all the financial
- 1:55:19report
- 1:55:23for the for the internship
- 1:55:26faculty
- 1:55:28I want I have to have this information
- 1:55:30about this company
- 1:55:34all this information company those are
- 1:55:37all public information
- 1:55:40so so
- 1:55:42in this class getting ready to meet the
- 1:55:43challenge so in this class.
- 1:55:46You will learn to be a critical thinker.
- 1:55:52You will learn to develop mindset of
- 1:55:54creativity and curiosity.
- 1:55:57You'll become an excellent communicator,
- 1:56:00storyteller.
- 1:56:02You will become an empathetic
- 1:56:04leadership. That means
- 1:56:07strength.
- 1:56:10You'll be working in a team and team
- 1:56:12building.
- 1:56:14You will take full advantage of
- 1:56:18internship opportunity.
- 1:56:35communication
- 1:56:38all those things you will learn which
- 1:56:40which which you don't get that
- 1:56:42experience at at college importance of
- 1:56:45networking network
- 1:56:56all of you must have the the LinkedIn
- 1:57:00profile, LinkedIn profile
- 1:57:05and then who knows
- 1:57:11will become the
- 1:57:13will become the the Ratant Tata will
- 1:57:16become
- 1:57:18Mr. Jooshi will become Prashant Gandhi.
- 1:57:22Who knows
- 1:57:24this is become Naran Morti and so on and
- 1:57:27for Steven Jobs and Bill Gates right. So
- 1:57:33network
- 1:57:41discuss discuss give your ideas take
- 1:57:46other people's idea work with
- 1:57:48everybody's strength and then of course
- 1:57:50pick a right mentor and fully you will
- 1:57:54be when do all this you will be fully by
- 1:57:57end of this uh
- 1:58:00your your engineering uh study by the
- 1:58:03end of it you will be ready uh to be
- 1:58:06effective on day one of your
- 1:58:08professional career day one
- 1:58:13class you'll be ready with that and of
- 1:58:15course we'll do the business financial
- 1:58:17and business model creating a BMC for
- 1:58:20your project BMC business model so
- 1:58:25look at here sample problem just so
- 1:58:28problem
- 1:58:30problem. So farmer
- 1:58:47he cannot afford.
- 1:58:58So student it is a challenge for you. It
- 1:59:01is it is an unmet need which needs to be
- 1:59:04completed. So 30%
- 1:59:0930% basic and then
- 1:59:12middleman
- 1:59:14middle
- 1:59:1760% charge middleman 60%
- 1:59:29market
- 1:59:32increase I say right to
- 1:59:36farmer has a market access challenges
- 1:59:39inefficient logistic he has a market
- 1:59:42access challenges
- 1:59:45high temperature market access
- 1:59:47challenges that's that's also same thing
- 1:59:49inefficient logistics right
- 1:59:54so what do you do just imagine if you
- 1:59:57are able to get so so what what this uh
- 2:00:00what this
- 2:00:03team did at Jharkand University. What
- 2:00:06what they said? Oh, they used
- 2:00:10they use start making your
- 2:00:12infrastructure,
- 2:00:14smartphone or laptop,
- 2:00:17free Google sheet,
- 2:00:20basic WhatsApp business account which
- 2:00:24exactly cost zero rupees to create
- 2:00:26sample uh to simple network. The farmer
- 2:00:30produce farmer
- 2:00:33and what you did logistics.
- 2:00:48You get that information.
- 2:01:00needed farmers.
- 2:01:04Just imagine what you have done is you
- 2:01:06have brought farmers product produce and
- 2:01:09retailers together.
- 2:01:12All of a sudden
- 2:01:23T wastage come home, right? Wastage come
- 2:01:27home and then then of course that's a
- 2:01:29paying customer. So this has this uh all
- 2:01:33of a sudden uh the
- 2:01:36the student these students have become
- 2:01:39us took us solve a problem
- 2:01:50the students are able to do this. It's a
- 2:01:53small scale. Just imagine
- 2:02:09paying retailers.
- 2:02:14So
- 2:02:17internship
- 2:02:19internship is the founding stone of
- 2:02:21gateway to industry.
- 2:02:26and why students should be taking this
- 2:02:28class
- 2:02:30exposure to industry and industrial
- 2:02:32visit.
- 2:02:34These are all the your role in achieving
- 2:02:36the success. Yes. Yes. Why should I be
- 2:02:40you? Your question should be why should
- 2:02:41I be taking this class? Oh, I'm learning
- 2:02:44new things. I'm learning all of that.
- 2:02:47And keep updated with latest invention.
- 2:02:50Identify the local problem and
- 2:02:52solutions.
- 2:02:54participate in the competition.
- 2:02:57Lab equipment
- 2:02:59lab equipment.
- 2:03:02Learn to use those lab equipment.
- 2:03:08And so you you use that
- 2:03:15to make a point to report to your to to
- 2:03:19your faculty to your professor.
- 2:03:25or problem is just go directly tell tell
- 2:03:29the principle that it has to be fixed
- 2:03:33and uh so uh what I will do is uh I'm
- 2:03:39just going to finish this and I'm going
- 2:03:40to go back and have uh professor Roy
- 2:03:44comment on this. So knowledge base gives
- 2:03:46graduate the prime tool to enter the
- 2:03:48world of opportunity.
- 2:03:52Moving from mindset to mind shift gives
- 2:03:55our student key to become solution
- 2:03:58provider.
- 2:04:01You are a solution provider. The
- 2:04:03critical thinking, excellent
- 2:04:04storytelling, empathetic leadership
- 2:04:07skills equips you to solve any problem
- 2:04:11coming your way.
- 2:04:13The engineering labs are equipped with
- 2:04:15the tools and test equipment for uh for
- 2:04:19students.
- 2:04:20So mindset of an entrepreneur
- 2:04:25is a problem solver.
- 2:04:28Anyone can be a problem solver by
- 2:04:30cultivating creativity and and
- 2:04:33curiosity.
- 2:04:38Every one of you
- 2:04:49there is no secret to it. The AI has
- 2:04:52made the knowledge based economy
- 2:04:54obsolete has replaced it with curiosity
- 2:04:57and creativity based economy. be a
- 2:05:00leader in adopting this
- 2:05:04a pre- AI time the economy time was
- 2:05:08knowledge based economy and the country
- 2:05:11individuals who had that knowledge
- 2:05:13access to the knowledge had the
- 2:05:14advantage in and in the education
- 2:05:18students memorize the formula process
- 2:05:20etc has made knowledge based economy
- 2:05:24obsolete
- 2:05:26I would request professor Roy professor
- 2:05:28Roy can Can you please uh uh just talk
- 2:05:32about this uh uh uh the internship
- 2:05:37please? Can you and then we we'll take
- 2:05:40the question after that.
- 2:05:44I think internship
- 2:05:46is one of the most important time
- 2:05:51that is going to expose every student
- 2:05:54to what goes on in the industry. It will
- 2:05:58expose you
- 2:06:06and
- 2:06:11responsibility
- 2:06:13and your responsibility is not only to
- 2:06:17know the problem.
- 2:06:19Your responsibility is to collect the
- 2:06:23data. Your responsibility is to improve
- 2:06:26the process. Your responsibility will be
- 2:06:29cost-saving. Your responsibility will be
- 2:06:32to address all the customer related
- 2:06:35issue. Your responsibility will be how
- 2:06:38to test the product. Your responsibility
- 2:06:41will also be that testing the product
- 2:06:45your tester that tester to tester
- 2:06:47variance.
- 2:06:50What are the different steps that are
- 2:06:52required in order to make sure that the
- 2:06:55product will meet all the customer
- 2:06:58requirement?
- 2:07:00What are the
- 2:07:02what are the things that you are going
- 2:07:04to control to make sure that every
- 2:07:07product meets engineering
- 2:07:10specifications?
- 2:07:16internship.
- 2:07:19The more you learn
- 2:07:22in your internship,
- 2:07:25start asking these questions.
- 2:07:30How how do you start collecting the
- 2:07:32data? How do you measure things?
- 2:07:38Instrumentation. Basically, their
- 2:07:40purpose is to validate a product.
- 2:07:47It's very important
- 2:07:53is going to be directly used by all the
- 2:07:57industry.
- 2:07:59Now let me ask you a question.
- 2:08:02Many of you might be confused.
- 2:08:06You have to be curious. You have to be
- 2:08:08entrepreneur.
- 2:08:11The easiest way is her college may
- 2:08:16there are lot of competition that are
- 2:08:18being held lot of heath
- 2:08:24if you do not have the problem at hand
- 2:08:29go and take up these projects because
- 2:08:31they are the problems they have been
- 2:08:34sent by most probably government of
- 2:08:36India government of Jarkand or or many
- 2:08:39other universities
- 2:08:40who are trying to find out the potential
- 2:08:43solution to a problem. The problem
- 2:08:46statement
- 2:08:49pick up those take that as a challenge.
- 2:08:52The chances are you may do good, you may
- 2:08:55not do good in the first instant.
- 2:08:58So this is where
- 2:09:01it comes up that failures are known as
- 2:09:05the pillar of success. Why is that? Yes,
- 2:09:09failure will only be pillar of success
- 2:09:12if you keep yourself motivated in
- 2:09:15solving the problem. First time
- 2:09:18competition may you may not have done
- 2:09:20very well but
- 2:09:22be knowledge gain and if you implement
- 2:09:25that in your second competition the
- 2:09:28chances are you're going to be better
- 2:09:30prepared to do that. as say as an
- 2:09:33entrepreneur it's not certain that
- 2:09:36whatever project that you're doing will
- 2:09:39be successful because of one or the
- 2:09:42other reason
- 2:09:45it may not be as successful as what you
- 2:09:49intended to do. However,
- 2:09:52you can always pivot and do better next
- 2:09:56time
- 2:09:58easily. That is why don't give up. If
- 2:10:01you give up then failures will become a
- 2:10:04failure. But if you take that as a
- 2:10:07challenge and say I'm going to fix this,
- 2:10:11the chances are you're going to do much
- 2:10:13better. So take this as a challenge
- 2:10:17competition.
- 2:10:20It is an opportunity for you to build
- 2:10:22your own network.
- 2:10:24Not only college friends but when you go
- 2:10:28to this competition you're going to meet
- 2:10:30many more students like yourself
- 2:10:34and you're going to create that
- 2:10:36partnership with them. So easily it's
- 2:10:39very very important take parts because
- 2:10:42uh you're always going to learn from
- 2:10:45this
- 2:10:47and uh then it
- 2:10:52is directly applicable to your job
- 2:10:55surely you'll be successful entrepreneur
- 2:10:59industry every job is like an
- 2:11:01entrepreneur forget it you know it's
- 2:11:05different you're going to be working in
- 2:11:08the industry and you're going to be
- 2:11:09guided by others. That is not the case
- 2:11:13because you are responsible and you'll
- 2:11:17be asked to resolve the problem. That is
- 2:11:20why you are hired
- 2:11:23to mindset and we are teaching you all
- 2:11:27those tools that will make you
- 2:11:29successful.
- 2:11:30>> Okay. So let's let's open this up for
- 2:11:33questions. You know if you have any
- 2:11:34question please uh
- 2:11:36>> yeah one thing I want to say so whatever
- 2:11:38we covered today
- 2:11:41that's what is going to be in your exam
- 2:11:47okay so all practical this is remember I
- 2:11:50I mentioned that earlier also
- 2:11:56class
- 2:11:58and you've gone through this today you
- 2:12:01will you will do okay So I want to wish
- 2:12:04all of you very best or critically best
- 2:12:08preparation is
- 2:12:12go through this and talk about this more
- 2:12:15and more you talk better you will be off
- 2:12:18okay all right
- 2:12:21go ahead you saying sorry
- 2:12:24>> no I said if there's any more questions
- 2:12:27that uh
- 2:12:29>> that comes up in your mind this is a
- 2:12:32time to please raise your hand
- 2:12:35>> and uh unmute yourself and ask your
- 2:12:38questions.
- 2:12:40>> Not only questions
- 2:12:42>> but also suggestions and uh you know
- 2:12:45what's in your mind and how we can
- 2:12:46improve things also.
- 2:12:48>> Yeah.
- 2:12:48>> And and also professors
- 2:12:51faculty who are there please uh feel
- 2:12:54free to comment on uh on this uh today's
- 2:12:59session. We'd like to hear that.
- 2:13:02Okay, Ammon, please unmute yourself and
- 2:13:07express your thoughts.
- 2:13:13>> Good morning, sir.
- 2:13:16>> Morning.
- 2:13:16>> Good morning. Go ahead. Ammon.
- 2:13:19>> Uh, first of all, my name is Aman Patel
- 2:13:21and I am from government.
- 2:13:25>> Very good,
- 2:13:26>> sir.
- 2:13:28Questions.
- 2:13:32Fix mindset
- 2:13:40questions
- 2:13:55like PLC
- 2:14:04or
- 2:14:09okay. So whom do you think will benefit
- 2:14:13more
- 2:14:16working for an industry or working for
- 2:14:19PLC?
- 2:14:26Second person.
- 2:14:54I think you're absolutely right or again
- 2:14:58it is it is your particular need.
- 2:15:02If you want to specialize yourself then
- 2:15:05go ahead and specialize in any
- 2:15:07particular branch that you want to do
- 2:15:09it. But if you're going to work for an
- 2:15:12industry, you need to be an allrounder
- 2:15:17and an internship will give you
- 2:15:22uh will give you a place where you can
- 2:15:24learn industry.
- 2:15:28So thank you. Thank you. You did answer
- 2:15:30yourself the question. Very good. And
- 2:15:33that is the correct thing to do. Or and
- 2:15:37what was your first question? Professor
- 2:15:42first question
- 2:15:47sir can I repeat first question your
- 2:15:49first yes
- 2:15:55mindset
- 2:15:57growth mindsetreneur
- 2:16:14entrepreneur.
- 2:16:16Yeah.
- 2:16:19Industry. Every engineer is an
- 2:16:22entrepreneur
- 2:16:25because you are there to solve a
- 2:16:27problem.
- 2:16:32Think about that.
- 2:16:38Everyone has to have that mindset to
- 2:16:41solve a problem and it is it is more
- 2:16:46critical in industry. Jer competition is
- 2:16:50at a very highest level.
- 2:16:53So if you do not then you're going to
- 2:16:58competition.
- 2:17:06Okay, sir. Thank you. All right. I I
- 2:17:08hope I've made my point very clear and
- 2:17:13bas
- 2:17:19and and after gaining experience most
- 2:17:22probably you'll become an expert and
- 2:17:25start your own industry.
- 2:17:29Vishnu, Vishnu, you're disturbing the
- 2:17:31class.
- 2:17:33Vishnu,
- 2:17:35please mute yourself. Mute.
- 2:17:39>> So, I hope I hope you got your answer.
- 2:17:44>> Yes sir.
- 2:17:45>> Thank you.
- 2:17:48>> Yeah. So most most important
- 2:17:52thing in in this is the self self
- 2:17:56building self-confidence
- 2:18:00right and then
- 2:18:04change
- 2:18:06you are lucky
- 2:18:15Her cheese
- 2:18:24you can convince
- 2:18:29mindset
- 2:18:32get him to know about this
- 2:18:35chat GP
- 2:18:46Okay. So that's
- 2:18:50problem
- 2:18:56what are the unmet need in and around my
- 2:18:59home.
- 2:19:01Right? This is
- 2:19:13problem solve.
- 2:19:16So you got to know
- 2:19:26AI entrepreneurship
- 2:19:28that is the next big thing which is
- 2:19:30happening.
- 2:19:32including
- 2:19:43entrepreneurship class.
- 2:19:47We are going to include we are going to
- 2:19:50include the uh
- 2:19:53the AI content of it.
- 2:19:58your agent where you know the students
- 2:20:00can fill the agent and you know find
- 2:20:03start using the agent to do the to do
- 2:20:06the uh do the easy work for them
- 2:20:11>> and go ahead please unmute yourself
- 2:20:17>> good morning sir
- 2:20:19>> good morning
- 2:20:21>> sir I'm from government politic and I
- 2:20:24have two questions my First question is,
- 2:20:28have you ever funded someone to do
- 2:20:30certain work or certain business work
- 2:20:32for you or for somebody else or for
- 2:20:34government?
- 2:20:39>> Okay, that's first question. What is
- 2:20:41your second question?
- 2:20:43>> Sir, my second question will be coming
- 2:20:45after once you have answered the first
- 2:20:48question.
- 2:20:50>> Okay. Yeah, sure. You know during during
- 2:20:53the time when I used to work for
- 2:20:55corporation or even as an entrepreneur
- 2:20:59we hired lot of students especially who
- 2:21:03became interns in our corporation
- 2:21:07because at intern they had the
- 2:21:09capability of proving themsel with their
- 2:21:11knowledge expertise and and with the
- 2:21:15mindset of solving problems. So, so it's
- 2:21:18it's true if you are a good
- 2:21:23>> good in solving problem and especially
- 2:21:26when you join join a company doing
- 2:21:28internship you're going to be hired in
- 2:21:31that company high five high opportunity
- 2:21:34that you are going to be hired in that
- 2:21:35company.
- 2:21:40All right sir. So my second question is
- 2:21:43what is the biggest technical bottleneck
- 2:21:46or legacy constraint currently slowing
- 2:21:49down the economy and the previous work
- 2:21:52that they have those previous teams has
- 2:21:55faced due to those working hours and the
- 2:21:59project that they have been building for
- 2:22:01the government and for your business and
- 2:22:04how did they actually solve those
- 2:22:06bottlenecks and those problems during
- 2:22:09their book.
- 2:22:12>> I do not know the answer to that
- 2:22:14particular question.
- 2:22:18But remember one thing
- 2:22:22first and foremost is
- 2:22:25when you're trying to develop a product,
- 2:22:27it must meet a need. It must solve a
- 2:22:33problem for a customer.
- 2:22:36And then
- 2:22:38you have to go ahead and design it in
- 2:22:41such a way that you are able to develop
- 2:22:45and provide that solution to the
- 2:22:47customer.
- 2:22:52Then obviously
- 2:22:54there is something that is missing.
- 2:22:57government may be
- 2:23:00if they are not able to fulfill the need
- 2:23:03or the service that they are trying to
- 2:23:06provide there's always an issue that
- 2:23:08comes up and questions will be asked
- 2:23:19and try to do the best in whatever you
- 2:23:23do.
- 2:23:25>> All right sir. So after hearing those
- 2:23:27two questions answer, I have actually
- 2:23:30found a really good insight about it and
- 2:23:33there is one more question that I would
- 2:23:35like to ask you. Would you mind asking
- 2:23:37it?
- 2:23:38>> May sure go ahead please.
- 2:23:41>> [clears throat]
- 2:23:42>> So sir, I was actually planning to build
- 2:23:44a solar product that is going to help
- 2:23:48you increase the capacity of the power
- 2:23:51that it going to generate over the years
- 2:23:54that it will be going to work and there
- 2:23:56are few things that I would like to
- 2:23:59include in that product and the first
- 2:24:03second third capabilities would be the
- 2:24:06protection of the solar power. As you
- 2:24:09already know that every single solar
- 2:24:11power that India is importing are really
- 2:24:14thin and they are really really bad when
- 2:24:16it come to Ola. You all no you know that
- 2:24:20Ola is
- 2:24:23a really bad thing for the solar
- 2:24:26when it crashed into the solar panel. It
- 2:24:29just crack or just broke the solar panel
- 2:24:32which completely broke the
- 2:24:35[clears throat]
- 2:24:36use of the solar panel and the owner has
- 2:24:39to completely replace the solar panel
- 2:24:41and get a new one. So my first
- 2:24:45target would be to create a product
- 2:24:47which is going to protect the solar
- 2:24:49panel and the second thing I would like
- 2:24:52to include in that product will be the
- 2:24:55cleanup of the solar panel. As you
- 2:24:57already know, every single thing that
- 2:25:00every single customer that is currently
- 2:25:03purchasing the solar panel is just
- 2:25:06completely forgetting that they have
- 2:25:07solar panel. They just
- 2:25:10don't want to clean up their solar panel
- 2:25:13which just decrease the efficiency. And
- 2:25:15you have also seen those solar panels in
- 2:25:18the government or in field that are
- 2:25:21completely covered in tur. So you can
- 2:25:24just
- 2:25:26imagine that the efficiency of the solar
- 2:25:28panel has completely decreased over the
- 2:25:30years. So my second target would be to
- 2:25:34develop a system that
- 2:25:36clean up the solar panel every single
- 2:25:38day or every single month
- 2:25:41depending on the efficiency. Let's say
- 2:25:44that
- 2:25:45a new solar panel is currently producing
- 2:25:4810 GW and over the months that solar
- 2:25:52panel has decreased from 10 GW to 5 GW
- 2:25:56and my product would going to
- 2:26:01uh my product would going to analyze how
- 2:26:04did that 10 G drop down to 5 GW and
- 2:26:08there are few things that solar panels
- 2:26:12get decreed. increase the efficiency and
- 2:26:15the first problem would be the first
- 2:26:18problem are definitely the dust. The
- 2:26:21second problem is definitely the poor
- 2:26:24quality of solar panel and in India the
- 2:26:28first problem is the only problem that
- 2:26:31is currently decreasing the efficiency
- 2:26:34of the solar panel. So my so with the
- 2:26:37second target we going to target the
- 2:26:41efficiency and third target would be to
- 2:26:46give a complete dashboard to the
- 2:26:50customer that um [clears throat] on that
- 2:26:53dashboard the customer can see the
- 2:26:57efficiency and the production of the
- 2:26:59solar panel. That way the
- 2:27:03that way [clears throat]
- 2:27:06the customer I I I I got it. I got it
- 2:27:09what you're trying to say and I want to
- 2:27:12support you with this. You know it's
- 2:27:13it's a great thing that you have
- 2:27:16analyzed number one uh hopefully what
- 2:27:21are the causes of failure
- 2:27:23>> and number two what are the corrective
- 2:27:26actions that you're going to take to
- 2:27:28make sure that uh the solar panel return
- 2:27:32back to the efficiency as per the
- 2:27:36specification of the product to go and
- 2:27:41uh good luck to It's a great project
- 2:27:45and hopefully there'll be a lot of
- 2:27:48demand and especially gaw.
- 2:27:52So the chances are you're going to work
- 2:27:54with a large corporation because those
- 2:27:56are the ones who generate in gawatt of
- 2:28:00power
- 2:28:03you know
- 2:28:04rooftop
- 2:28:07and see whether you are able to achieve
- 2:28:10what you thought would really do it
- 2:28:14expand. Remember remember one thing
- 2:28:17circle of influence
- 2:28:25or millennials because everyone has the
- 2:28:28same problem. So aren't you aren't you
- 2:28:31sure? Good thing go ahead and do it.
- 2:28:36Anu one other thing I'll tell you what
- 2:28:39you should do is you should try to find
- 2:28:41out what are the cleaning uh uh what are
- 2:28:46the cleaning equipment
- 2:28:49how currently industry is doing that
- 2:28:51because there are a lot of companies
- 2:28:53>> who who are in the cleaning thing so do
- 2:28:56your homework there before spending too
- 2:28:59much money just find that out okay right
- 2:29:05good that was a good could think what
- 2:29:06professor said.
- 2:29:08>> All right.
- 2:29:09>> Okay. Manu
- 2:29:11Mantu, please unmute yourself and ask
- 2:29:14your question.
- 2:29:21Gorav uh you are next. Please uh unmute
- 2:29:24yourself. Ask a question.
- 2:29:26>> Good morning sir. My name is
- 2:29:32>> Sir. My question is that
- 2:29:35what is the main difference between
- 2:29:36startup and the traditional business?
- 2:29:44Okay, I think we went through that, you
- 2:29:47know, all the time.
- 2:29:50I always talk about
- 2:29:53the traditional industry startup
- 2:29:59youthfulness.
- 2:30:01So I I'm sorry.
- 2:30:11applicable to your job at any industry.
- 2:30:18Seriously,
- 2:30:19read the notes. Read the notes that are
- 2:30:22being sent
- 2:30:24>> and and then be prepared. Prepare then
- 2:30:27you're going to appreciate what you're
- 2:30:30learning in this class a little bit
- 2:30:31more. [clears throat]
- 2:30:34Whenever I speak, whenever Surish Roy
- 2:30:37speaks, he speaks about the application
- 2:30:40of what you are learning here in the
- 2:30:43real life of an industry
- 2:30:46and encourage
- 2:30:48key. Try to go and talk to your family.
- 2:30:51Try to talk to your friend whoever is an
- 2:30:54engineer and ask him
- 2:30:57what is their roles and responsibility
- 2:31:00so that you understand that much better
- 2:31:03and you'll be prepared
- 2:31:07in that particular job uh to be very
- 2:31:10very effective. So I I can just
- 2:31:13summarize this in one sentence.
- 2:31:19secret will be directly applicable not
- 2:31:22only for your entrepreneurship
- 2:31:25but also at your work job no matter
- 2:31:28which work you're going to do this will
- 2:31:31be directly applicable to that
- 2:31:34I hope uh I hope I've made myself very
- 2:31:37clear I encourage you do not miss any
- 2:31:41class because you are learning
- 2:31:45here what you'll be using for the rest
- 2:31:48of your life.
- 2:31:50All right, Gorov, please unmute
- 2:31:52yourself. Ask a question.
- 2:32:02>> Rim, please unmute yourself. Ask your
- 2:32:05question.
- 2:32:21Anika please uh unmute yourself ask your
- 2:32:24question.
- 2:32:26>> Sir good morning sir. Good afternoon
- 2:32:29sir.
- 2:32:29>> Good afternoon sir.
- 2:32:32Okay P just hold on and Shika
- 2:32:34[clears throat] please go on.
- 2:32:35>> Sir earlier you said about some
- 2:32:37suggestions so I wanted to ask you to
- 2:32:40please include some case studies in the
- 2:32:44upcoming lectures also because case
- 2:32:46studies would be very helpful to
- 2:32:49navigate or learn about new things about
- 2:32:53entrepreneurship.
- 2:32:56>> Absolutely. Absolutely. uh and uh you
- 2:33:01know we always have some guest speakers
- 2:33:03who come in
- 2:33:04>> and uh those are the case studies that
- 2:33:07they'll be talking about
- 2:33:10>> a uh you know we had uh pretty nice
- 2:33:14speakers
- 2:33:15come in and and uh speak about their
- 2:33:19experience
- 2:33:21and I I do not know
- 2:33:27guest figure invite
- 2:33:32but
- 2:33:35>> I have not yet attendance attended that
- 2:33:38lecture.
- 2:33:39>> Okay.
- 2:33:41>> Yeah. So so we will have we will have uh
- 2:33:46uh the case studies as as part of the
- 2:33:48curriculum. It will we will be uh we
- 2:33:52will be talking about it
- 2:33:55>> after after
- 2:33:56>> actually one one of the course that I'll
- 2:33:58be taking up will be a case study about
- 2:34:01uh new product introduction and what
- 2:34:04steps are really taken in order to
- 2:34:08make it uh these new products from
- 2:34:11protos to manufacturing
- 2:34:14and and what are the steps that are
- 2:34:16involved.
- 2:34:18So I I will go through I will go through
- 2:34:21that in details.
- 2:34:28>> Okay. Pre if you want unmute yourself
- 2:34:31and please.
- 2:34:37>> Okay.
- 2:34:49Prem,
- 2:34:49>> do you have a question? Preje
- 2:34:56something.
- 2:35:02>> Hello.
- 2:35:04>> Yes.
- 2:35:05>> Yes sir. I have a questions. participate
- 2:35:08in ideal pitching competition. Wine idea
- 2:35:12that that one machine.
- 2:35:21How was the plant is good? Not
- 2:35:29questions.
- 2:35:48market.
- 2:35:56Okay. And and and how many of those
- 2:35:59customers that you talk to?
- 2:36:0310
- 2:36:06customer to talk to
- 2:36:09in local areas.
- 2:36:11>> Okay. 10 customers is pretty good. So
- 2:36:16now now is challenge to you
- 2:36:22machine
- 2:36:24will involve a lot of money my friend.
- 2:36:30What would be prototype or cost because
- 2:36:34you have to give certain
- 2:36:38cost to the customer
- 2:36:40and and depending about the cost whether
- 2:36:44he's going to buy or not will be a
- 2:36:46decision that the customer will be
- 2:36:48taking. If you're able to produce and
- 2:36:51meet his requirement,
- 2:36:54uh you're going to be successful.
- 2:36:58Once you have a prototype done, you're
- 2:37:00going to have hundreds of customers.
- 2:37:06Detail
- 2:37:09how you're going to do it, what is the
- 2:37:11process and uh and build up material.
- 2:37:22maintenance.
- 2:37:28So you have to think all of that. But if
- 2:37:31you have 10 customers, you're on the
- 2:37:33right path. Go ahead.
- 2:37:48High cost.
- 2:37:57So plan is good but you are not.
- 2:38:01>> No it's a good plan. It's a good plan
- 2:38:03but low cost does not mean low quality
- 2:38:07quality high
- 2:38:10at a competitive pricing.
- 2:38:16Quality is good, but
- 2:38:3015,000
- 2:38:3315,000
- 2:38:3415,000
- 2:38:36competition machine
- 2:38:4130 to 35,000
- 2:38:4430 to 35,000. Okay.
- 2:39:02Multiply that by 10
- 2:39:0515.
- 2:39:16Ultimately when you start building in
- 2:39:18hundreds most probably you will reach
- 2:39:21that cost of 15 15,000.
- 2:39:33I'm just telling you from my experience.
- 2:39:37So until you're ready, unless you're
- 2:39:41ready to spend 150 uh uh 1.5 lakhs,
- 2:39:49don't don't go into it.
- 2:39:55machine
- 2:39:58there'll be a lot of tooling cost that
- 2:39:59will be involved.
- 2:40:08Yes.
- 2:40:13Yeah. What you should do is why don't
- 2:40:16you write your plan what you want to do
- 2:40:20and share it with professor Roy.
- 2:40:23Okay. and then then uh then we can give
- 2:40:26you a better you know judgment this is
- 2:40:29right now uh not knowing anything uh but
- 2:40:34that's what input you got in uh
- 2:40:39professor Roy what he said those are
- 2:40:42very real number what he talked about
- 2:40:52expenses marketing expenses. So, so it
- 2:40:56is not
- 2:41:05labor or
- 2:41:07material cost.
- 2:41:20the other expenses overhead.
- 2:41:23So financial
- 2:41:26and then send it to send that
- 2:41:31send that and then then we can give you
- 2:41:33the input.
- 2:41:36Okay.
- 2:41:37>> Okay. Okay.
- 2:41:49You will get
- 2:41:53hopefully this idea will work for you.
- 2:41:55If not, you will have enough experience
- 2:41:57to start another idea.
- 2:42:01Okay?
- 2:42:04Strong team
- 2:42:06and you'll do very well.
- 2:42:12You are thinking about it.
- 2:42:16Thank you sir.
- 2:42:22Rajnumar please unmute yourself or
- 2:42:27question.
- 2:42:35>> Good morning sir.
- 2:42:37>> Good morning.
- 2:42:41Government
- 2:43:07India labor is still so cheap.
- 2:43:11until automated machine
- 2:43:16start with the labor first
- 2:43:18and then depending upon the demand
- 2:43:22you can start incorporating machines
- 2:43:25over there.
- 2:43:27So just just so that you do not
- 2:43:31overspend money and overdo things which
- 2:43:34are really not required.
- 2:43:38Case proof clear use the traditional
- 2:43:42method that is available.
- 2:43:48Okay.
- 2:43:51Yes sir. S question
- 2:44:13I have no idea.
- 2:44:15The best thing is because you are you're
- 2:44:18trying to go into that business. So
- 2:44:22you know just go around and see how
- 2:44:24others are handling this and experience
- 2:44:30improve but mostly
- 2:44:35try to put them under shade and shade
- 2:44:40uh it will meet your requirement just
- 2:44:42like summer and winter time.
- 2:44:46So Suraj ask that question to chart GPT
- 2:44:50or or Gemini.
- 2:44:58>> Okay sir.
- 2:44:59>> Okay. Are you familiar with chat GPT and
- 2:45:02say Gemini?
- 2:45:06>> Yes sir.
- 2:45:07>> Good. Perfect. Okay.
- 2:45:14All right. Good. Okay.
- 2:45:18>> Thank you so much. All right. Okay.
- 2:45:20Students, I think uh the the time is now
- 2:45:24it's it's just I think your next class
- 2:45:27will be coming soon. So I hope I hope
- 2:45:30today's uh session was uh uh the main
- 2:45:34purpose was going through the revision
- 2:45:37for the uh for the first midterm and uh
- 2:45:41just go and uh uh look at the videos uh
- 2:45:45which we sent you earlier and look at
- 2:45:47this uh today's uh today's uh slide deck
- 2:45:54and uh just think about it. Critical
- 2:45:57thinking. Critical thinking.
- 2:46:02Critical thinking.
- 2:46:16If there are no question I'll I a
- 2:46:25professor Roy you want to take AJ's
- 2:46:26question please.
- 2:46:27>> Yeah yeah yeah a please uh unmute
- 2:46:30yourself
- 2:46:31and and ask a question or opinion or
- 2:46:35suggestion.
- 2:46:36Go ahead please. Good afternoon sir.
- 2:46:42Sir
- 2:46:45Farmer
- 2:46:58do you think
- 2:47:01sir? I don't know about that sir.
- 2:47:14Guess guess take a guess.
- 2:47:30Okay.
- 2:47:33Exactly.
- 2:47:36And and you can
- 2:47:40you can also support farmers by working
- 2:47:43in companies
- 2:47:46that is trying to automate farming
- 2:47:56indirectly. You'll be helping the
- 2:47:58farmers.
- 2:48:04Farmers life is not easy. You're
- 2:48:07absolutely right. Yeah.
- 2:48:10Because the land is so expensive
- 2:48:15or or or farmer is so much dependent on
- 2:48:18the weather, right?
- 2:48:22Control and those are the two major
- 2:48:25things why the smaller farmer have much
- 2:48:28much difficulty.
- 2:48:30So, so this is that's the reason why
- 2:48:34uh why people are not going into the
- 2:48:38you know going into the farming. This is
- 2:48:42a professor
- 2:48:46farming land is being divided.
- 2:48:50So
- 2:48:54and then it becomes
- 2:48:57>> unprofitable to do farming on a business
- 2:49:02level when the farmers when the farm is
- 2:49:05very very small
- 2:49:09or using any other devices.
- 2:49:12>> Yeah.
- 2:49:18population.
- 2:49:19So obviously you know that is why the
- 2:49:22farming land is becoming smaller and
- 2:49:24smaller with time.
- 2:49:28A very good question, very good thought.
- 2:49:37your intention
- 2:49:42you want to somehow
- 2:49:44uh work you have interest in the in the
- 2:49:49farmers.
- 2:49:50>> Yes.
- 2:49:52>> That's it. So just keep keep that keep
- 2:49:54that up.
- 2:50:00example
- 2:50:06free
- 2:50:08how they able to help one farmer. Same
- 2:50:12kind of thing you know that can be done
- 2:50:16farmer
- 2:50:22spoilage
- 2:50:24and then market
- 2:50:32is
- 2:50:37Direct local hyper local hotel.
- 2:50:44That's very good.
- 2:51:02So define
- 2:51:07farmers need unmet need problem
- 2:51:12right.
- 2:51:13and then then you provide the solution
- 2:51:16to that problem with your intelligence
- 2:51:19and with your uh uh with your smart uh
- 2:51:23AI tools which are available for free
- 2:51:27and you can you can just pick you know
- 2:51:30pick pick two or three farmers and you
- 2:51:32know give them a solution and see
- 2:51:34whether you are able to succeed in your
- 2:51:36mission or not.
- 2:51:38>> Yes sir.
- 2:51:39>> Okay. Government
- 2:51:49government
- 2:51:55employment
- 2:52:01entrepreneurship.

- 2:52:10and sure
- 2:52:14government will will help. There are lot
- 2:52:17of
- 2:52:20opportunity government will help.
- 2:52:21Actually,
- 2:52:38but I will make it happen.
- 2:52:44But I will make it happen.
- 2:52:48then
- 2:52:49>> then the government will will definitely
- 2:52:52support you because
- 2:52:54>> I think
- 2:52:56I think
- 2:52:58district
- 2:53:00magistrate
- 2:53:02sir
- 2:53:02>> and do not hesitate
- 2:53:07that this is in my mind and this is
- 2:53:10going to solve this particular problem
- 2:53:12and uh how does this idea attract to him
- 2:53:18and uh Aar if he's ready to buy your
- 2:53:21idea again you have to tell a story in
- 2:53:25such a way that he will be compelled to
- 2:53:31buy your idea and say go ahead and
- 2:53:34implement it
- 2:53:38the story should be how the farmers are
- 2:53:41going to benefit from this
- 2:53:43>> yes sir
- 2:53:45>> good They are very good
- 2:53:50because after all DC will be very happy
- 2:53:54if there is some solution that is
- 2:53:58provided to bring to uplift the farmer's
- 2:54:01life.

- 2:54:27because
- 2:54:30they are going to substitute
- 2:54:33your knowledge.
- 2:54:36come engineering and agriculture
- 2:54:39engineers if they start working together
- 2:54:42you're going to come up with much better
- 2:54:44solution
- 2:54:46to again it's all teamwork how well you
- 2:54:49can establish your team in this and and
- 2:54:53go to the source and and find out from
- 2:54:56DC what are the different sources of
- 2:55:01fund that are available for these type
