6. 0:15we're going to teach you some great
7. 0:16phrases so that you can ask people to
8. 0:19help you right and I think this dialogue
9. 0:21is with a new person at the office MH so
10. 0:24when you're new you always need to ask
11. 0:25people for favors exactly okay so we're
12. 0:28going to be asking for a favor so Marco
13. 0:31what exactly is a favor something that a
14. 0:34person does for you like a small helpful
15. 0:37thing yeah a small helpful thing so you
16. 0:40know like can you pass me that pencil
17. 0:42maybe that's even a favor yeah or maybe
18. 0:45uh can you pick me up on your way to
19. 0:46work yeah that's a favor or even lending
20. 0:49money to your friend that's a favor yeah
21. 0:52so that's what we're going to be talking
22. 0:53about favors and how to ask for one cuz
23. 0:56you always have to do this at work at
24. 0:58work with your friends with your family
25. 1:00so let's listen to the dialogue and then

51. 2:17language from the dialogue so let's
52. 2:19start with language

54. 2:24takeaway there's some great language in
55. 2:26this dialogue wasn't there yeah a lot of
56. 2:28uh interesting phrase and words um the
57. 2:31first one that that I saw that was
58. 2:32really interesting is on board on board
59. 2:36welcome on board well we've got some
60. 2:38examples of how this phrase is used so
61. 2:40let's listen to them to help us
62. 2:42understand the meaning example
63. 2:47one welcome on board Sarah if you have

85. 3:58out for lunch mhm or I could say hey

87. 4:03to go into a meeting mhm exactly yeah

89. 4:09soon okay the next word we have is
90. 4:12instead instead instead instead it means
91. 4:17in the place of in the place of yep so

107. 5:03and now we can listen to it again this
108. 5:05time it's going to be a little bit
109. 5:06slower and you'll be able to understand
110. 5:09the language a little bit

152. 7:22could also say can I get you to do me a
153. 7:25favor right can I get you to do me a
154. 7:27favor also I could say will you do me a
155. 7:30favor will you do me a favor right so
156. 7:33those are different ways of asking for a
157. 7:35favor let's say you want to ask someone
158. 7:37for a favor right mhm but they're busy
159. 7:41right so you'll need some phrases to
160. 7:43help you do this exactly you need some
161. 7:45phrases to interrupt somebody right so

183. 8:44setting it up to ask for a favor right
