- 1:42and psychological trauma she had been
- 1:45raised in the cow die religion
- 1:47which taught that there were many gods
- 1:49and many different ways
- 1:51to forgiveness and to bliss and
- 1:52happiness but this religion brought her
- 1:55no relief whatsoever
- 1:56in 1982 things came to her head as she
- 1:59contemplated ending her life
- 2:01feeling that at least if she committed
- 2:03suicide her suffering would be over
- 2:05she went to saigon library and decided
- 2:08to
- 2:09look into other religions she took out
- 2:11books on different religions
- 2:13and eventually as she lived through them
- 2:15she came on a new testament
- 2:17started to read the gospels this was
- 2:19something different immediately she was
- 2:21struck
- 2:21with the fact that jesus made some
- 2:24amazing claims he claimed to be the son
- 2:26of god
- 2:26he claimed to be the only way to
- 2:28forgiveness the only way to the father
- 2:30and she'd never ever heard that before
- 2:33and then she read
- 2:34about the sufferings of christ and she
- 2:36could identify with suffering and pain
- 2:38and she was amazed to think that if this
- 2:40man claimed to be the son of god
- 2:42and yet he died on the cross and she
- 2:44didn't fully understand it but
- 2:46it made such an impression upon her she
- 2:49decided to find out more
- 2:50eventually on christmas eve in 1982
- 2:54she was sitting in a church in saigon
- 2:56listening
- 2:57to the gospel message the pastor was
- 3:00talking about the gift
- 3:01of the lord jesus christ how that god
- 3:03gave his son
- 3:05and the peace and the blessings and the
- 3:07forgiveness
- 3:08that are experienced when someone
- 3:10accepts the lord jesus as the savior
- 3:13as she listened kim said i knew
- 3:15something was shifting inside me
- 3:17i wanted this jesus she was desperate
- 3:20for peace
- 3:21and for forgiveness and she realized as
- 3:24she listened that
- 3:25jesus christ sufferings on the cross had
- 3:27been for her sins
- 3:28to give her eternal life and at the end
- 3:31of the service
- 3:32she very definitely accepted the lord
- 3:34jesus as her savior
- 3:36and her lord well she experienced a pace
- 3:39that she'd never
- 3:40known before her life was changed the
- 3:43resentment and bitterness and anger that
- 3:46had been in her heart
- 3:47was gone she said that her hate list
- 3:50became
- 3:51her prayer list and she found that she
- 3:54had been forgiven herself and she could
- 3:56forgive those who
- 3:57inflicted such suffering upon her well
- 4:00eventually
- 4:01she and her husband defected to canada
- 4:04she set up a foundation
- 4:05to help and support children who had
- 4:07been traumatized by

- 4:25more powerful
- 4:26than the love of the savior she used to
