- 0:01Did you know that there is a lost city in the middle of the planet?
- 0:04Considered one of the
- 0:06most important archaeological treasures in all of Latin America
- 0:08with more than a thousand years old.
- 0:10When I saw this, I was so intrigued
- 0:12that I had to see it with my own eyes,
- 0:14so I began to investigate to go right away,
- 0:16even though I knew beforehand that this adventure was not going to be easy.
- 0:19Four days immersed in nature
- 0:21fighting against mosquitoes,
- 0:22heavy rains and strong heat.
- 0:25Right away I said to myself: You have to do it!
- 0:27for that reason I can't take all the equipment
- 0:29I usually have with me.
- 0:31This time I'm going to take on the challenge of preparing my perfect gear
- 0:34for this journey without sacrificing the quality of my shots.
- 0:38Among the chosen ones I will take the new ZHIYUN CRANE-M3S,
- 0:41which only weighs 705 grams,
- 0:43almost what this camera weighs.
- 0:46We get ready with our boots, extra changes of clothes and raincoats.
- 0:50Once prepared, we set off in search of a new adventure.
- 0:54Here we go!
- 1:04We arrived in Santa Marta, we met Eliseo
- 1:06who was going to be the guide on this odyssey.
- 1:09We had to provide ourselves for the days to come.
- 1:12Well, now we are about to start a two-hour trip
- 1:15through the entire part of the Tayrona Park
- 1:17until we reach Mamey,
- 1:18better known as "Pelado Machete"
- 1:20where we are going to start our adventure.
- 1:22Today we are going to arrive at the first camp
- 1:24where we are going to be sleeping.
- 1:25The journey is based on 60 km round trip divided into four days.
- 1:29On the third day with a favorable wind
- 1:31we would reach the great mountain
- 1:33where the Lost City is located,
- 1:34so the adventure begins there.
- 1:41Well, we are here in the town of Machete Pelado,
- 1:44or rather Mamey
- 1:45, and we are going to start the walk,
- 1:47what if I am noticing here, the beginning is the heat, or not?
- 1:50The heat that is doing here, the humidity.
- 1:52Well it's going to be a challenge
- 1:53but that's going to be one of the most interesting things.
- 1:55-Good? -Ah well, super
- 1:58I have to admit that the first kilometers are quite hard
- 2:01but we were promised that the views from above
- 2:03were not going to disappoint us.
- 2:06Well here we go, as 22% says
- 2:09we continue up eh, uf!
- 2:14We are with Mercedes who gave us a refreshing coconut,
- 2:17just what we needed.
- 2:35Whoa people! The truth is that I have to admit
- 2:37that this Gimbal is surprising me a lot,
- 2:39not only because of its size and weight,
- 2:41but also because it can be used with my cell phone,
- 2:44so I can use it to film the FX3
- 2:47with my camera at the moment,
- 2:48but also grab my cell phone, place it and it's ready to go.
- 2:52This Gimbal is specialized for small cameras
- 2:55like the 6600
- 2:56the 7S3
- 2:58the FX3 also with small lenses
- 3:00and only the fact of size and weight
- 3:02makes the difference completely.
- 3:04One of the things that I like the most
- 3:05is the fact that I can be walking
- 3:07and always have the gimbal with the camera
- 3:09ready to film at any time.
- 3:11For years I was compromising my back
- 3:13or I directly had the gimbal in my backpack
- 3:15and just by setting it and others I lost many shots
- 3:19that would have been very good
- 3:21I think that on this trip this gimbal is going to be perfect
- 3:24I know we have enough left to walk.
- 3:31Every step we take towards the top
- 3:32we realized how immense and incredible this territory was.
- 3:37And the heat was quite stifling.
- 3:39We sweat a lot, don't we? -Yes
- 3:41Look at me
- 3:43I'm completely soaked,
- 3:45I mean, it seems that I bathed twice here.
- 3:50The good thing is that we are always together
- 3:52hello beautiful!
- 3:55-Difficult? - If
- 3:58This that I have here was given the name like the poporo,
- 4:01in Kogi we call it sugi.
- 4:04Inside there is a pulverized white sea snail powder
- 4:09that when we are doing this,
- 4:11this is where we are capturing everything
- 4:14we are thinking, hearing and feeling.
- 4:19In a few words it could be said as a personal diary.
- 4:26After several kilometers
- 4:27we began to connect with the tranquility of the place.
- 4:34And we do not hesitate to freshen up
- 4:35before reaching our first camp.
- 4:38I think I see some houses over there
- 4:41Ugh we are coming.
- 4:45With the exhaustion of the first day
- 4:47we arrived at the cabin where we were going to spend the first night.
- 4:51Well now we are preparing for dinner,
- 4:53we are going to sleep here in some cabins that are back here
- 4:55, the beds are with mosquito nets, everything is excellent.
- 4:58Tomorrow we will have a very intense day.
- 5:00We will sleep early
- 5:02and tomorrow we will start before dawn.
- 5:03Now at this moment I am illuminating this whole environment
- 5:06with this light that the M 3S stabilizer brings.
- 5:09It has a led light of different
- 5:11cold and warm intensities, it looks excellent,
- 5:13so let's eat now.
- 5:17Good morning,
- 5:18today we got up very early at
- 5:204:30 a.m. It was the call to take advantage of the day
- 5:22and today's walk
- 5:24, which will undoubtedly be the hardest.
- 5:25We left early for a reason
- 5:26and that is because it rains here in the afternoon
- 5:28so we have to make the most of the day before
- 5:30it rains because when it gets rainy
- 5:32there it gets more complicated.
- 5:36Wow, it's incredible how in the morning
- 5:37a kind of mist forms here in the
- 5:41magical environment!
- 5:49Well in front we have, you can hear howler monkeys
- 5:53and on the mountain in front of you jaguars
- 5:56and among other cats that we have here in the mountains.
- 5:58Wow jaguars!
- 5:59so, hey huh! how they behave, but Eli commands them.
- 6:08It's already hard huh, I've never sweated like this in my life.
- 6:11-Incredible Eli, isn't it? -Yes, it's incredible.
- 6:13We're very sweaty
- 6:17, but the views are there!
- 6:18We began to introduce
- 6:21the climate into indigenous lands, the nature slowly changing.
- 6:25Currently there are four tribes descendants of the Tayrona
- 6:28, the Kogui, Wiwa, Arhuaco and Kankuamos.
- 6:32Well now we are officially
- 6:33entering Indian land territory, there are four tribes.
- 6:39The interesting thing is that they still keep the same traditions,
- 6:42so there are many things that they share like songs and so on.
- 6:45And something quite interesting
- 6:47is that when one tribe meets another,
- 6:49the greeting they have is to exchange
- 6:51coca leaves from one bag to another,
- 6:54so that is a respectful way of greeting.
- 6:58Well, at this moment
- 6:59we are in the Kogui town called Motenyi,
- 7:03these houses
- 7:05are made up of earth, stones, sticks and palms.
- 7:08Throughout the Sierra Nevada we have 233 indigenous settlements
- 7:13like these and we always
- 7:17do it in a circular fashion in our traditional houses.
- 7:19All they see in our culture are circles, they are cycles,
- 7:22that's why we do it that way
- 7:24and these two sticks that are up here,
- 7:27that's like a representation of the two most important peaks
- 7:30that we have here in the Sierra Nevada.
- 7:32Well, those are not for the Wi-Fi, they are not for the TV,
- 7:35it would be very cool, but no,
- 7:37that is just a representation of the two peaks of the city.
- 7:47Well, now we are arriving at a school,
- 7:49that is, after having walked so much we found a school.
- 7:52How far do the boys have to travel to get here?
- 7:53- And some who take an hour
- 7:56to get here
- 7:57-Wanting
- 7:58-That's wanting
- 7:59-and if you want, can you or not?
- 8:01- Yes -Yes, exactly
- 8:06Look, this little boy was lying down,
- 8:09a beautiful little pig looks like a puppy.
- 8:22One of the most key things that I think about this Gimbal
- 8:24is the quick release
- 8:26, which is basically an easy entry to be able to hook it up
- 8:29and be ready to go directly.
- 8:30All the people who used a gimbal at the time
- 8:33know that it is something super complicated from the fact of placing the gimbal,
- 8:36balancing it and so on.
- 8:37And the good thing about it is that with just one click
- 8:39you're ready to go
- 8:41and that really saves me a lot of time taking shots.
- 8:47We arrived at the camp before sunset
- 8:49to be able to rest.
- 8:51We had no idea what was going to happen the next day.
- 8:59We got up very early to take advantage of the sun
- 9:01on our way to the final destination,
- 9:03even though we still had several kilometers to go.
- 9:11It's up there,
- 9:13that's where we're going.
- 9:17At this point everything was a physical and mental challenge
- 9:20to top it off the storm was coming.
- 9:24Our long-awaited final ascent looked a little more complicated.
- 9:31Well, what has been said
- 9:33has started to rain like a beast here
- 9:36and the roads become very complicated
- 9:37, it is very difficult to get there,
- 9:39the truth is we don't know if we are going to be able to get there,
- 9:41it is quite dangerous.
- 9:45Luckily we were able to move on
- 9:46and we had one last challenge left to reach our final destination.
- 9:51Well, here we are at the famous stairs,
- 9:53we are going to take the first step and we are going to start with the 1,200 steps
- 9:56that we have to take to climb, so first,
- 10:00here we go.
- 10:03Since those times
- 10:05they used the same stairs that we are using,
- 10:07they are quite slippery so you have to be careful.
- 10:11Nati was going through a critical moment
- 10:13on the brink of abandonment.
- 10:14-Give it no more, there's less to go
- 10:20-It's better if I wait
- 10:23Ta so ta so
- 10:24and we're finally here
- 10:27-Crash, we're here, huh!
- 10:32And a prize also to spikerulais who also
- 10:36accompanied us all the way.
- 10:37People and with you...
- 10:39the Lost City
- 10:54And there we were
- 10:55where one of the
- 10:57most impressive civilizations in the world lived.
- 11:02Every time I come here
- 11:04I feel connected with nature and with my ancestors.
- 11:09This is a magical place with a lot of energy.
- 11:14Everything that we are seeing here in this place
- 11:17took more than 1,500 years to be able to build
- 11:22on everything that we are appreciating right now.
- 11:25That is, if you realize
- 11:27and have a dimension of what this is,
- 11:28they put stone by stone.
- 11:30As Eli counted,
- 11:3270% was brought from here from the river
- 11:34and the rest from the surrounding area.
- 11:37All these rings, all these terraces that are here
- 11:40before, there were houses, traditional houses
- 11:44just like we still have right now.
- 11:48And when we die we
- 11:49always bury our loved ones inside a vessel
- 11:53inside a clay pot,
- 11:55we also put many things in it, such as very important, very valuable
- 11:59pre-Columbian stones, quartz, gold,
- 12:03so when we bury these valuable things
- 12:07it is so that at each entrance
- 12:09on that planet you can pay with those things.
- 12:17Wow, the peace that you feel in this place is incredible,
- 12:19we are almost alone and the sounds there are.
- 12:25At that moment you realize
- 12:26that we are in the most impressive places in the world,
- 12:29and that everything you walked was 100% worth it.
- 12:34-And Nati, what did you think of the place?
- 12:35-Beautiful, a little difficult to reach
- 12:37but when you get here the reward is very great,
- 12:40beautiful, beautiful!
- 12:41It feels a peace, a tranquility
- 12:43I love.
- 12:44-Challenge complete!
- 12:45-Very good
- 12:49Well people I hope you liked this adventure,
- 12:51the truth is that it was quite hard.
- 12:53But the truth is that I loved it,
- 12:54that is, spending so much time in nature, in the jungle,
- 12:57the truth is that you connect with all the people here
- 13:00who also have different but very interesting beliefs.
- 13:03We share it with Eliseo, he's a crack,
- 13:05if they come here they have to come with him,
- 13:07I'll leave the contact here below.
- 13:09And the truth is that using this little friend on this trip was great,
- 13:13that is, this gimbal works very well,
- 13:15that is, if you have a small camera,
- 13:17I think it is the perfect gimbal for travel.
- 13:19On the other hand, if you have slightly larger cameras
- 13:22or with heavier lenses,
- 13:23I recommend moving to a superior gimbal that can hold more weight.
- 13:27But the truth is that due to its size, weight and price,
- 13:31the truth is that it is unbeatable.
- 13:32And the truth is that
- 13:33the fact that it is so comfortable and light that Nati could be filming
- 13:36and not only with the camera but also with the cell phone
- 13:38makes it a perfect combo for all kinds of trips or travelers
- 13:42who want to have fairly light equipment in their backpack
- 13:45, which I think is something very, very good.
- 13:47So folks I hope you enjoyed the video,
- 13:48we have ten more kilometers to walk
- 13:50and see you in the next video
- 13:52bye!
