- 0:04my name is Jeremiah Tillman David I'm a
- 0:06public works inspector for Public Works
- 0:08inspections I've been working for the
- 0:10city for about eight years part of my
- 0:12job is inspecting and overseeing all
- 0:14public water sewers storm utilities
- 0:17including Paving within the public
- 0:19right-of-way
- 0:21[Music]
- 0:25the kind of projects that we're
- 0:28inspecting on is a CIP which is capital
- 0:31Improvement projects and private
- 0:33development projects whether it's on the
- 0:34residential or commercial side making
- 0:37sure that all utilities and Paving is
- 0:40meeting federal state and local code
- 0:43regulations and specifications so with
- 0:46this RCP one making sure that it's the
- 0:48right size two that there's no chips
- 0:51cracks concrete shattering whether it's
- 0:55on the inside of the pipe on the outside
- 0:57you know I used to be in construction as
- 0:59well so I've always enjoyed being around
- 1:01hand tools heavy machinery the
- 1:04installation part of it you know I just
- 1:06like being out in the field
- 1:08[Music]
- 1:15I think the cool thing about working
- 1:17with the city is like your supervisors
- 1:19want to see you do better for yourself
- 1:21you got crew leaders and supervisors
- 1:23that's willing to teach you everything
- 1:24that you need to know to better yourself
- 1:26and have an understanding within the
- 1:28construction field on what you need to
- 1:29do
- 1:30so right here
- 1:31this is some 30 inch RCP that they
- 1:34started laying just yesterday and
- 1:36between there's going to be a junction
- 1:37box that's the reason why there's a gap
- 1:39there's going to be a future junction
- 1:40box that they're going to form in place
- 1:42and pour in place and right now they're
- 1:44working on their backfield they're
- 1:46adding moisture more moisture better
- 1:48compaction
- 1:49we just finished this inspection
- 1:52off to the next one
