  7. 0:13resemble the iconic image we all
  8. 0:15remember of her time as CEO of Theos
  9. 0:18with the black turtlenecks Crimson
  10. 0:19lipstick and green juices first they
  11. 0:22think you're crazy then they fight you
  12. 0:24and then all of a sudden you change the
  13. 0:25world the baritone voice is now gone um
  14. 0:30she just talks in a normal voice in an
  15. 0:34interview with People Magazine from the
  16. 0:36Texas Federal Prison where she served
  17. 0:38nearly two years of her sentence for
  18. 0:40defrauding investors in her billion
  19. 0:42dooll startup Holmes saying quote it's
  20. 0:44been hell and torture to be here Holmes
  21. 0:47revealing there's not a day that she
  22. 0:49hasn't continued working on her research
  23. 0:51and inventions from behind bars saying
  24. 0:53that she's committed to her dream of
  25. 0:55making affordable healthare Solutions
  26. 0:57available to everyone she doesn't think
  27. 0:59she frauded anyone or lied to anyone um
  28. 1:03she believes in the technology and
  29. 1:06believed you know one day potentially if
  30. 1:09she had more time she would have changed
  31. 1:11the world and wants to try to do that
  32. 1:14when she gets out hello
  33. 1:16Walgreens welcome to Theos in a case
  34. 1:19that riveted the public and inspired a
  35. 1:21TV series and documentary patients who
  36. 1:24use theosis medical devices for blood
  37. 1:26tests testified that they received false
  38. 1:29diagnosis for miscarriages and diseases
  39. 1:31like HIV following a nearly 4-month
  40. 1:34trial Holmes was found guilty of Fraud
  41. 1:37and sentenced to 11 years in prison
  42. 1:39which has already been reduced to nine
  43. 1:40for good behavior Holmes is expected to
  44. 1:43be released in 2032 and she continues to
  45. 1:46appeal her sentence in the meantime
  46. 1:48Holmes's daily life looks far different
  47. 1:50than during her years as a biotech
  48. 1:52Trailblazer by 8: a.m. Holmes begins her
  49. 1:54work as a re-entry clerk helping women
  50. 1:57inmates write resumés and prepare to
  51. 1:58apply for government benefits upon their
  52. 2:01release from prison she also teaches
  53. 2:03French Classes twice a week she sees her
  54. 2:05two young children and her partner Billy
  55. 2:07Evans Holmes's first child was born just
  56. 2:10before her trial began and her second
  57. 2:12three months before she reported to
  58. 2:14federal prison their time together the
  59. 2:16highlight of Holmes's days behind bars
  60. 2:19saying goodbye the hardest
  61. 2:21part Holmes and her codefendants Sunny
  62. 2:23balwani were also ordered to pay $452
  63. 2:26million in restitution Holmes's attorney
  64. 2:29did not respond to our request for
  65. 2:30comment Holmes says that she's speaking
  66. 2:32out now because she feels passionately
  67. 2:34about advocating for other prisoners
  68. 2:36especially other mothers who are
  69. 2:38separated from their children all right
