  1. 0:10in Christ Jesus risen from the dead we
  2. 0:13are
  3. 0:15Joyful We Are
  4. 0:17unafraid and we are filled with
  5. 0:20hope deep seated
  6. 0:24Joy courageous lack of fear and
  7. 0:28undying hope are the marks of a
  8. 0:31Christian anyone who is following the
  9. 0:33Lord who has a relationship with Christ
  10. 0:37knows that Joy experiences the courage
  11. 0:41of lack of fear and undying
  12. 0:44hope they are the precious possessions
  13. 0:47of being a disciple of
  14. 0:50Christ but the question is why is the
  15. 0:52Christian disciple
  16. 0:54joyful why is a Christian unafraid and
  17. 0:58filled with hope
  18. 1:00well because Jesus Christ is risen from
  19. 1:03the
  20. 1:03dead therefore we put all of our faith
  21. 1:07in him we put our faith in his words and
  22. 1:10in his
  23. 1:12promises many people good and bad have
  24. 1:15made lasting marks on our
  25. 1:18history Carl Marx's body is in a grave
  26. 1:22in
  27. 1:23London n's body is in a grave in
  28. 1:27Lutsen Muhammad's body is in a in a
  29. 1:30grave in
  30. 1:31Medina Buddha's body is in a grave in
  31. 1:35ping there have been there have even
  32. 1:38been persons that have been
  33. 1:41resuscitated like Elijah and Alicia and
  34. 1:44of course Lazarus who later did face a
  35. 1:47second
  36. 1:49death but if you travel to Christ's
  37. 1:52grave in
  38. 1:53Jerusalem it's
  39. 1:55empty and it's been empty for 2,000
  40. 1:58years because only one has risen from
  41. 2:02the dead and that is Jesus
  42. 2:05Christ whose mortal body was transformed
  43. 2:08into a glorious
  44. 2:10body because you see nothing can rise
  45. 2:13from the dead except
  46. 2:16Divinity and though he intimately and
  47. 2:19permanently United himself to human
  48. 2:21flesh through the Incarnation Christ
  49. 2:24rose from the dead not because he was a
  50. 2:26man but because he was
  51. 2:28God and as God he made us a startling
  52. 2:32promise and to the world a
  53. 2:35Preposterous
  54. 2:37promise that if you're
  55. 2:40baptized into his body and stay United
  56. 2:43to him through lives of Faith you too
  57. 2:46will
  58. 2:48rise just like he did rise from our
  59. 2:51tombs of Life Everlasting sharing with
  60. 2:54him the joy of Heaven forever those are
  61. 2:57his
  62. 2:58words that's his his promise to
  63. 3:01us that is the source of our inner Joy
  64. 3:05our undying hope that is why we are
  65. 3:10unafraid illness loss tragedy
  66. 3:14innumerable bad things happen to us in
  67. 3:16our lives and they touch us at some
  68. 3:19point or another to one extent or
  69. 3:23another but the Christian with eyes
  70. 3:26firmly fixed on the resurrected Christ
  71. 3:29knows that that those things cannot
  72. 3:31touch our inner
  73. 3:32Joy they cannot touch Our Hope or cause
  74. 3:36us to
  75. 3:38fear the Christian knows that everything
  76. 3:40passes the good and the
  77. 3:43bad and that only Christ risen from the
  78. 3:45dead remains Christ is alive his kingdom
  79. 3:49will have no
  80. 3:51end and as his disciples we are part of
  81. 3:54that
  82. 3:56Kingdom the struggles to remain faithful
  83. 3:58amid the Myriad Temptations of the world
  84. 4:02and the poor examples that surround
  85. 4:04us the struggles to remain honest pure
  86. 4:08faithful kind and attentive to the needs
  87. 4:11of our neighbors the struggles the the
  88. 4:14humiliation sometimes and even the
  89. 4:17persecution that comes from following
  90. 4:20Christ we know all of these things will
  91. 4:23be made up for a h hundredfold on
  92. 4:25Judgment Day when the Risen Christ will
  93. 4:28give us an everlas lasting reward for
  94. 4:31our
  95. 4:33faith and so we are Christians with
  96. 4:37joy we are Christians who are unafraid
  97. 4:40and have undying hope that is the faith
  98. 4:44that we celebrate today the faith that
  99. 4:47we celebrate every
  100. 4:50Sunday we can endure all the good
  101. 4:52Fridays that the world wants to throw at
  102. 4:55us because we know in our
  103. 4:57hearts that Easter Sunday is there that
  104. 5:02we believe in Easter Sunday so while
  105. 5:05Easter is rightly about the Triumph of
  106. 5:08Christ over sin and death this day is
  107. 5:10also about us this is our feast day
  108. 5:15too being a disciple of Jesus Christ
  109. 5:18carries no guarantees about the
  110. 5:20world Jesus did not promise wealth or
  111. 5:23power or status or Earthly pleasure to
  112. 5:26his
  113. 5:28followers being B baptized does not
  114. 5:30vaccinate us against illness or loss or
  115. 5:34tragedy following Christ does not exempt
  116. 5:37us from the innumerable crosses that we
  117. 5:39will bear in our
  118. 5:41life what Jesus does
  119. 5:43promise is a share in his resurrection
  120. 5:46onto eternal life if we remain faithful
  121. 5:49unto
  122. 5:51him that's why through the centuries the
  123. 5:53marter bravely confronted their
  124. 5:56fate why missionaries are risking
  125. 5:58everything to to bravely bring the
  126. 6:01gospel to the
  127. 6:02world why the faithful throughout all
  128. 6:04the ages have patiently endured
  129. 6:08persecution it's why courageous men and
  130. 6:10women have lived heroic lives of
  131. 6:14Faith why because of the promise of
  132. 6:17eternal life that Christ gives us
  133. 6:19through our
  134. 6:21faith you see people don't come to Faith
  135. 6:24by convincing arguments or even solely
  136. 6:26by the clergy they're brought to the
  137. 6:29faith faith in Christ by his
  138. 6:31Apostles and that's
  139. 6:33you who manifest your faith and give an
  140. 6:37example for all to
  141. 6:39see today we celebrate the rising of
  142. 6:42Jesus Christ to a new life and we
  143. 6:44celebrate with grateful Hearts our share
  144. 6:46in the Life of Christ as his disciples a
  145. 6:50life that nothing on Earth can take
  146. 6:53away and that's why we're
  147. 6:55joyful that's why we should be unafraid
  148. 6:59and have undying
  149. 7:01hope our faith is not simply a faith
  150. 7:05based on a nice man who lived 2,000
  151. 7:08years ago who taught nice things and
  152. 7:10said nice things no more beautifully our
  153. 7:14faith is in a living person a concrete
  154. 7:18living person Jesus Christ the son of
  155. 7:20man who offered
  156. 7:22himself on the cross in order to take
  157. 7:26away our sins and who on this day has Ro
  158. 7:30has risen triumphantly from the
  159. 7:33grave so my brothers and sisters have
  160. 7:36that
  161. 7:37joy and when you share with each other
  162. 7:40the Pascal Easter Proclamation when you
  163. 7:43say to each other Allelujah you should
  164. 7:45say it with a smile on your face and
  165. 7:47with deep joy in your
  166. 7:49heart praise Be Our Risen Christ now and
  167. 7:53forever Allelujah Allelujah
  168. 7:58amen
