Full transcript
- 0:03Hello, good morning. It's so nice to see
- 0:06you here today. Uh, how has things
- 0:10happened since last time we talked about
- 0:15um
- 0:19I'm trying to remember now for the week.
- 0:25I am still sleeping a lot, but I have
- 0:30managed to do most of my homework.
- 0:34So, that's that's really good. Um, it's
- 0:39still a struggle though.
- 0:42um just with everyday routines
- 0:46and
- 0:47just the overall feeling of
- 0:52inertia.
- 0:56Sorry, I'm taking physics so that
- 0:59word was on my mind, but I feel like
- 1:01that
- 1:03is accurate.
- 1:12Thank you so much for sharing this with
- 1:14me. It sounds like you are able to
- 1:20manage your feelings about your
- 1:22sleeping, your school, your daily
- 1:25routine and your overall well-being. I'm
- 1:28so happy for you. I want to follow up
- 1:32with you couple things we discussed
- 1:35from previous sessions. Is that okay
- 1:38with you?
- 1:40>> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Thank you.
- 1:46>> How's your jewelry making doing
- 1:48recently?
- 1:51I I got to do um a couple sessions of
- 1:56jewelry making maybe maybe twice this
- 1:59week. Um
- 2:02thank you.
- 2:04Uh sometimes like
- 2:06you know you get into it and then you're
- 2:08kind of like in the zone for quite a
- 2:12while. So even though it was only like
- 2:14two separate times, it was like good
- 2:16chunk of time for each
- 2:20Oh, I'm so happy to hear that. Oh, I'm
- 2:25so happy you you have an opportunity to
- 2:29engage your creativity
- 2:32when you have time and it makes you joy
- 2:36and enjoyable. Oh, I'm so happy for you.
- 2:41>> Thank you.
- 2:44Yeah. Yeah. I mean,
- 2:52I don't know if this makes sense, but
- 2:57I think it helps in terms of
- 3:02my energy a little bit cuz
- 3:07I don't know. I thought it maybe would
- 3:09make me just like tired or I would just,
- 3:11you know, be losing those hours of time
- 3:15when I should be doing
- 3:17like school work or something. And
- 3:22I I I was able to get a lot of my my
- 3:26homework done.
- 3:29I don't know. It doesn't really make
- 3:31sense to me.
- 3:38Yeah, I want to share with you that you
- 3:42are not wasting or using your time from
- 3:45doing what you enjoyed and you don't
- 3:49have much time for your school or your
- 3:51homework or your to-do list in your
- 3:55daily time. That the jewelry making and
- 3:59the rest is something you really need
- 4:01it. If you if you don't have the energy,
- 4:06if you don't have the feeling or if you
- 4:08don't have the if you don't have the sta
- 4:12to continue,
- 4:14you are you it may affect your plans and
- 4:19it may affect your well-being as well.
- 4:22You are doing the correct way to help
- 4:25you cope with your body. So I
- 4:29>> really
- 4:31that is really normal. Some people some
- 4:35people have the same feeling like that
- 4:37as well. But I really want to thank you
- 4:40for taking time to rest and taking care
- 4:43of your body. You are doing the right
- 4:46thing.
- 4:49I I I didn't realize I was um taking
- 4:52care of
- 4:54my body by doing
- 4:57my jewelry making.
- 5:00How
- 5:02I don't I don't understand still kind of
- 5:04like
- 5:08like it's the I don't understand. It's
- 5:10the cure. I'm confused.
- 5:13M
- 5:14>> when you engage your when you engage
- 5:18your jewelry making it makes you feel
- 5:20relaxed and you find a joyful moment
- 5:24when you are making your creativity and
- 5:28that is one of your self-care
- 5:33to yourself
- 5:35is is unconsciously
- 5:37you are doing it taking yourself without
- 5:39notice.
- 5:46I know like on social media and
- 5:49everything people talk about self-care.
- 5:52I thought it was like
- 5:55taking baths,
- 6:01lighting candles.
- 6:08I didn't know that's what I was doing.
- 6:11and
- 6:32I guess
- 6:37I don't know. I was feeling a little
- 6:43guilty. Is that the right word? For
- 6:47spending time doing the jewelry making
- 6:50when I should be like
- 6:52planning for my future, doing homework,
- 6:55maybe doing job apps or getting a job. I
- 6:56don't know. One of one I mean something
- 6:59for my future. I I I felt guilty for
- 7:02doing
- 7:05the jewelry making.
- 7:12Thank you so much for being honest and
- 7:14opening up with me.
- 7:18Girl, don't do don't do too hard on
- 7:21yourself.
- 7:23Some people feel like they are taking
- 7:25rest. They feel guilt. They feel
- 7:28ashamed. They feel like they they are
- 7:31not doing the thing they supposed to do.
- 7:33So, but I'm but I really really want to
- 7:37assume you that that is the rest you
- 7:41deserve. You are not doing you are not
- 7:44doing you are not supposed to do you are
- 7:47doing the right thing at this moment
- 7:50because self-care is very important to
- 7:53us and then there's no right or wrong
- 7:56for self-care.
- 8:02There's a lot of way to take care of
- 8:05self but the but the formatting and the
- 8:09creativity and social outlet it may be
- 8:13different depends on people and depends
- 8:16of the situations.
- 8:20I'm so happy and I'm so glad you opened
- 8:23up with me.
- 8:28Yeah, I do feel
- 8:32different
- 8:34from our first couple sessions.
- 8:40In a good way. In a good way. I
- 8:46Sorry. I'm just trying to piece together
- 8:48what
- 8:50is happening cuz it doesn't feel like
- 8:56I'm doing a lot or that I'm
- 9:02intentionally doing things
- 9:05to get better.
- 9:08But there wasn't
- 9:11was improvement
- 9:13and
- 9:23Yeah. I don't I don't know. I still have
- 9:25all these feelings, right?
- 9:28The
- 9:30just like the heaviness and the strugg
- 9:32struggle every day.
- 9:39So,
- 9:46of doing my jewelry making, am I going
- 9:52I It's just so hard for me to believe
- 9:54that it's going to
- 9:58get better cuz I've I felt like this
- 10:01since I was like 12, 13. And I mean like
- 10:06when I start feeling better, it just I
- 10:09mean it feels like I always come back to
- 10:12this place. So I don't
- 10:16I don't know. You know, I've been I've
- 10:18been in therapy with a couple of
- 10:20different therapists for that long, too.
- 10:22And
- 10:25I just don't want to get my hopes up
- 10:26that I'm doing better.
- 10:31Thank you so much for sharing with me,
- 10:33Maya.
- 10:35I'm sorry we our session is almost
- 10:40closed. Before we wrap up today, is
- 10:42there something you would like to hold
- 10:45on to and we will discuss it next time?
- 10:52Um
- 10:54he yeah I guess that just this last part
- 10:59I maybe I'm doing better in some aspects
- 11:03but I'm just afraid that
- 11:07I'm not actually and I'll just end up
- 11:10back where I was. I I don't want to get
- 11:13my hopes up.
- 11:18Thank you so much for coming today. I
- 11:20will see you in two weeks.
- 11:22>> Okay. Thank you.
