- 0:00Hi doctor, how you doing today?
- 0:01>> I'm doing good.
- 0:02>> Okay.
- 0:03>> Thanks for uh inviting me here. This is
- 0:05for sure doctor. Um can I know your name
- 0:07please?
- 0:08>> I am Dr. Sindel Nadan. Uh I am from
- 0:10Chennai. I am a practicing dentist in
- 0:12Chennai.
- 0:13>> Okay. And how many years of practice
- 0:14experience do you have?
- 0:15>> I think uh from 2000 onwards. My actual
- 0:20um full-fledged practice is from 2009
- 0:22onwards.
- 0:23>> Wow. That's great. That's that's a long
- 0:25time now. So Dr. Con you're a senior
- 0:28dentist now. What was this one challenge
- 0:30or a problem that made you join this
- 0:32program?
- 0:33>> Yeah, that's a very important question,
- 0:35right? See, we know how to treat the
- 0:36patient. We know how to talk to the
- 0:38patient. But actually, do we know how to
- 0:41manage our practice? I don't think so
- 0:44because we are not thought about it or
- 0:46uh we have not many terms that the
- 0:50commonly that people are using, we don't
- 0:52even know what it is. So, uh it's there
- 0:54in my mind for a long time. how to run a
- 0:57successful practice or how to run it
- 1:00properly. So uh I think that is the
- 1:02question that leads to seeking for
- 1:05answer and that's why that's how I
- 1:07landed in
- 1:09>> wow
- 1:09>> school of business and with gold collar
- 1:12and with you
- 1:13>> that's that's great that so here um
- 1:15khing you have been a part of the
- 1:16program for more than 3 months now
- 1:18>> what was this one aha moment for you
- 1:20which was very memorable
- 1:22>> uh there are so many like that uh one is
- 1:26the financial statements see previously
- 1:30we all have these kind of statements and
- 1:32other things and uh and another thing is
- 1:36how do we actually cost it or uh those
- 1:40things are really helpful. One more
- 1:43thing which I learned yesterday is uh
- 1:46about the stock the stock and uh how do
- 1:49we manage the stock how much stock that
- 1:51we have it's it was actually a big eye
- 1:54opener for me how much stock I have and
- 1:57uh how do I actually make it better so
- 2:01those things are uh really help
- 2:05>> as far as I am concerned
- 2:07>> so what there was there any one
- 2:08particular module which was very
- 2:11beneficial to you which was an eye
- 2:12openener.
- 2:14>> Yeah. About the financial statements
- 2:16there are a lot of things uh how do we
- 2:19make a financial decision about to go
- 2:23for a new project or uh take a loan or
- 2:27uh is it your own money which needs to
- 2:29be invested or uh is is it better to go
- 2:32for see we are all a conservative
- 2:34mindset. No, that is uh that is the one
- 2:37which was really striking for me which
- 2:40actually putting your own money is far
- 2:42more uh expensive compared to getting a
- 2:45money from somebody outside or some
- 2:48basically from the banks. It is much
- 2:49much cheaper. That one statement it is
- 2:52actually I
- 2:55sort of I I was failed to understand for
- 2:58long time. I think from now on I think
- 3:00I'll be understanding that statement in
- 3:03a much better way.
- 3:04>> Wow. That's amazing doctor.
- 3:05>> Yeah.
- 3:05>> So when you talk about the faculties
- 3:07here, how was your experience of the
- 3:09faculties? I believe the faculties are
- 3:11very diverse.
- 3:12>> Was it beneficial to you or did you
- 3:14think the faculties were uh in a
- 3:16position that they could guide you very
- 3:18well?
- 3:18>> Yeah, there are so many faculties if you
- 3:21see their uh portfolio. No, it's really
- 3:25amazing. And one more thing which I
- 3:27liked was that on AI two people spoke uh
- 3:32that is one is uh Dr. Shankra and
- 3:35another one is from your own faculty
- 3:38>> uh Parakit Kuran that was really
- 3:41fantastic. Now how do we market and how
- 3:45do we take AI for our benefit and uh lot
- 3:50of things which we can implement. I
- 3:52think it goes long way not only today I
- 3:55think if I listen to the lecture
- 3:57multiple times I think I'll get more out
- 4:00of it. Uh that's how it is looking.
- 4:02>> Were you regular with all your classes
- 4:04doctor?
- 4:05>> Not really [laughter]
- 4:07not really but whenever I'm attending I
- 4:10I'll be able to uh take lot of points.
- 4:13Of course they will you people will
- 4:15provide us the video link but uh when we
- 4:18see the video link it is a different
- 4:20perspective. when we actually listen to
- 4:22the lecture that gives you a better
- 4:25perspective that is what I was thinking
- 4:28and unfortunately
- 4:30if you're joining please may do make
- 4:32some time so that you're not missing out
- 4:34on
- 4:35>> sa that's what we also communicate
- 4:38>> so uh Dr. Um the uh considering you have
- 4:41spent a lot of time, energy and even
- 4:43money on the program do you think you've
- 4:45gotten the value back out of it? And
- 4:46definitely there is see obviously
- 4:50management part you don't know anything
- 4:52right so when you don't know anything
- 4:54obviously whatever you are little that
- 4:56you are uh listening most of the thing
- 4:58you'll be listening whatever little gets
- 5:00into your mind you will become a better
- 5:03clinician not only clinician better
- 5:05management person of course that helps
- 5:08in a better way in treating the patient
- 5:10making some good decision
- 5:12>> we are good in making decisions whenever
- 5:14it comes to treatment methodology
- 5:16Are we really good? I think it goes a
- 5:19long way. Uh not only this 3 months, I
- 5:23think it is to go a long way. I'm really
- 5:26looking forward to know more about the
- 5:30management part.
- 5:31>> Right.
- 5:31>> So uh I think uh that is what I'm
- 5:33looking forward. Let's see what it goes.
- 5:36>> So have you gotten the money back for
- 5:37the fees that you paid in terms of
- 5:39knowledge growth or future
- 5:40opportunities?
- 5:42getting the money back is see knowledge
- 5:44and money I don't think it will be equal
- 5:47see knowledge and money I don't think it
- 5:50is the right tone that we can relate to
- 5:53each other getting the money back of
- 5:55course if you see the stock list no of
- 5:59course I think I'll get my money back if
- 6:02I manage my stock well I think I'll be
- 6:04getting my money back and if I use AI I
- 6:08think I will invest for future Right.
- 6:12>> So, so if you if you want to equate
- 6:14money and knowledge, uh that is the
- 6:16answer which I can think of.
- 6:18>> Apart from that, knowledge is knowledge.
- 6:21>> Correct.
- 6:21>> I don't think we can communicate it with
- 6:23this much money or that much money.
- 6:25>> Right. Yeah.
- 6:26>> So, has there been anything that you
- 6:27have learned in the program that you
- 6:29have already implemented and gotten
- 6:31results out of it?
- 6:33>> Yeah, of course. uh the website
- 6:35integration and other things we are uh
- 6:38putting into place the the one which I
- 6:41said no the management decision of
- 6:44taking the money from your your own
- 6:46money or from somebody else or that
- 6:49smaller smaller decision we are already
- 6:51implementing it and then the touch point
- 6:54focus of each and every patient uh those
- 6:57things are new to us what is this touch
- 7:00point how should I make it better so
- 7:03those things we started implementing and
- 7:05we are seeing a good result that's what
- 7:08I'm saying no you don't know anything
- 7:10>> whatever information that you are going
- 7:11to get is going to be a big boost and of
- 7:14course you'll be implementing it
- 7:16>> so would have you would have done such a
- 7:17program let's just say 10 15 years uh
- 7:20before when you have started your
- 7:22practice or a long time ago maybe
- 7:25>> definitely if there is an opportunity
- 7:27because I was looking for some codes
- 7:28from that time onwards but unfortunately
- 7:31at that point of time we don't have much
- 7:33[music] and of course you either you
- 7:35will have time or you won't have money
- 7:38if you have money you won't have time so
- 7:40it's like that but uh somehow somewhere
- 7:43you need to find some time if you're
- 7:44really serious about your private
- 7:46practice
- 7:47>> definitely I think you should be uh
- 7:50putting some time and money and effort
- 7:52to know more about this particular part
- 7:55of management
