- 0:00Nobody changes [music] until they change
- 0:02their energy. And when you change your
- 0:03energy, you change your life. And when
- 0:05you're truly focused and you're truly
- 0:07paying attention and you're in the
- 0:08present moment, all of a sudden, you
- 0:11will leave this three-dimensional
- 0:12reality. And when you leave this
- 0:14three-dimensional reality, there's only
- 0:15one other place you go, and that is the
- 0:17realm of thought, and that's called the
- 0:18quantum field. The voice behind a
- 0:20movement that [music] blends science and
- 0:22spirit in a way that's both real and
- 0:25revolutionary.
- 0:26>> Please give a warm welcome to Dr. Joe
- 0:28Despensza. The latest research on genes
- 0:30says genes don't create disease. It's
- 0:32the environment that signals the gene
- 0:34that creates disease.
- 0:35>> The emotional environment or the
- 0:36physical environment.
- 0:37>> Your environment. Thoughts are the
- 0:39language of the brain and feelings are
- 0:40the language of the body. And how
- 0:41[music] you think and how you feel
- 0:43creates your state of being. Those
- 0:45chemicals give the brain and body a rush
- 0:47of energy. And people become [music]
- 0:48addicted to that rush of energy. So now
- 0:50they use the problems and conditions in
- 0:52their life to reaffirm their addiction
- 0:54to that emotion. They [music] need the
- 0:55bad job. You got to lay down the very
- 0:58thing you used your whole [music] life
- 1:00to get what you want for something
- 1:02greater to occur.
- 1:05>> Now, you've been working with teaching
- 1:08people how to heal themselves with their
- 1:09minds, right? Overcome disease, overcome
- 1:12any type of chronic illness or pain
- 1:14>> through the mind, the principle of the
- 1:16mind.
- 1:17>> I grew up in a religion called Christian
- 1:19Science
- 1:20>> that did not use medicine. I didn't get
- 1:23vaccinations when I was a kid. My dad
- 1:25wouldn't let me go to the hospital. He
- 1:27wanted to use thought, prayer,
- 1:30>> the mindset to overcome any pain or any
- 1:32physical ailment.
- 1:34>> And so this something I was learning in
- 1:37a different way as an early kid.
- 1:39>> When did you start to learn about this
- 1:41philosophy or principle or truth and
- 1:44start applying it to your life?
- 1:46>> Well, I got run over by a truck in a
- 1:48triathlon in 1986 on the biking portion
- 1:50of the race. I broke uh six vertebrae in
- 1:53my spine and I was told that I'd never
- 1:54walk again. And uh so the typical uh
- 1:58surgical procedure for multiple
- 2:00compression fractures with uh cord
- 2:02impingement is uh this uh surgery called
- 2:04Harrington rod surgery. And in my case,
- 2:06they were going to cut off the backs of
- 2:08parts of my vertebrae from the base of
- 2:09my neck to the base of my spine. And
- 2:12then they screw in these long stainless
- 2:14steel rods. And when you screw those
- 2:15rods in into the vertebrae, acts like
- 2:18can lever. lifts the spinal column off
- 2:20the cord.
- 2:21>> Uh but the prognosis was I probably
- 2:24wouldn't walk again and um and that the
- 2:27surgery was was hopeful that it would
- 2:29give me some relief and and uh I think
- 2:31if it was any other patient Lewis
- 2:33besides me, I probably would have
- 2:34recommended the surgery, but this was
- 2:36me, you know.
- 2:36>> Sure.
- 2:36>> And I just couldn't rush into it. So I
- 2:38had four opinions, you know, from four
- 2:40of the leading surgeons in Southern
- 2:42California, and they were adamant that I
- 2:44needed this. All four of them. All four
- 2:45of them. Yeah. In fact, the the medical
- 2:48director of Scripps Hospital at the time
- 2:49was my was my surgeon and he was he
- 2:53thought I had a head injury or he
- 2:55thought, you know, that I had PTSD that
- 2:57I wasn't just following his instruction.
- 3:00Anyway, I decided against the surgery
- 3:01and I thought, well, listen, I'm not
- 3:03going anywhere. I'm not doing anything.
- 3:04I'm basically laying face down. And I
- 3:06thought, well, there's an intelligence
- 3:08that's giving us life that's keeping our
- 3:10heart beating and digesting our food. It
- 3:12it it really knows how to heal way
- 3:14better than me. this innate intelligence
- 3:16is what's giving us life. And I thought,
- 3:19well, if it's an intelligence, it's it's
- 3:21a consciousness. And consciousness is
- 3:23awareness, and awareness is paying
- 3:24attention. So, it must be paying
- 3:26attention to me. So, I said, look, maybe
- 3:28I'll just spend the rest of my time
- 3:30trying to connect to this intelligence
- 3:32and give it a plan, give it a design,
- 3:34give it a template. And when I was
- 3:36really present and complete with that
- 3:38design, I would surrender this creation
- 3:41to this greater mind and allow it to do
- 3:43the healing for me. And the other thing
- 3:44I said is I'm not going to let any
- 3:46thought slip by my awareness that I
- 3:47don't want to experience. Now that
- 3:49sounds really easy, right? But but when
- 3:52you're faced with crisis or trauma, uh
- 3:55we tend to focus on what we don't want
- 3:56to have happen instead of what we do
- 3:58have want to have happen. So I started
- 4:00on this journey. I decided against the
- 4:02surgery and um it was a a big revolution
- 4:05at the time. And uh I went through six
- 4:08and a half weeks of hell. I just could
- 4:10not get my mind to do what I wanted it
- 4:12to do cuz I'd start reconstructing my
- 4:14vertebrae and imaging an outcome and
- 4:16then I'd start thinking I'm going to be
- 4:17living in a wheelchair. I sell my
- 4:19practice.
- 4:19>> So you were thinking about the way you
- 4:21wanted your body to look and feel in
- 4:23your mind.
- 4:24>> I I reconstructed every single Yeah. In
- 4:26my mind. I wanted to show it exactly
- 4:28threedimensionally.
- 4:29>> In your mind. In my mind.
- 4:30>> You're not drawing it out or
- 4:31>> No. No. In my mind I was reconstructing.
- 4:32>> You're visualizing.
- 4:33>> Yeah. Visualizing. And I wanted to say,
- 4:35"Look, take a look at that." Because
- 4:36this intelligence is always present,
- 4:38right? So, we got to be present with it.
- 4:40So, I'd start off reconstructing my
- 4:42spine and then I'd be like, "Oh gosh,
- 4:44um, should I sell my practice? What if I
- 4:46live in a wheelchair?"
- 4:47>> You practice a chiropractic assistance.
- 4:50>> Yeah. In in the Southern California, La
- 4:51Hoya.
- 4:52>> So, uh, I couldn't get my mind to do
- 4:54what I wanted to do. And then after 6
- 4:55weeks, I just went through the whole
- 4:57thing. I felt like I hit a golf ball
- 4:58right in the sweet spot. Something
- 5:00clicked. And from that point forward,
- 5:02what took me two and a half or three
- 5:04hours to do, I was able to do in 45
- 5:06minutes. I was firing and wiring you
- 5:07know these new circuits and I was
- 5:09practicing paying attention and then all
- 5:12of a sudden I started noticing dramatic
- 5:13changes in my health like this and the
- 5:15moment I started noticing changes in my
- 5:18body what was going on outside of me I
- 5:20started correlating at what I was doing
- 5:22inside of me now I was just hooked and I
- 5:25just started doing it with more passion
- 5:26and more sincerity anyway back on my
- 5:28feet in 10 and a half weeks back
- 5:30training at 12 weeks back in my clinic
- 5:32and um and I just made a deal with
- 5:34myself that if I was ever able to walk
- 5:36again, I'd spend the rest of my life
- 5:37studying the mind body connection and
- 5:39mind over matter. And then that led me
- 5:41to just stop everything in my life. I
- 5:43just wasn't the same guy. I'd just been
- 5:45initiated into something and sold my
- 5:48practice, sold my home,
- 5:49>> sold it all.
- 5:50>> Sold it all. Moved to the Northwest and
- 5:52I just started asking bigger questions
- 5:53like who am I? What is why am I here?
- 5:56What what are we doing? What happens
- 5:58when we die? And how did how did all
- 6:00this happen for me? What was the
- 6:02process? So I started studying the the
- 6:04science behind it and I couldn't find it
- 6:06in any conventional textbooks because
- 6:08this was unconventional right and
- 6:10miraculous is kind of unconventional. So
- 6:12I started studying quantum physics and
- 6:14neuroscience and epigenetics and it
- 6:17started making sense. I started building
- 6:18this model of understanding. Then I
- 6:20asked the fundamental question has
- 6:22anybody else done it? So then I traveled
- 6:24to 17 different countries and
- 6:26interviewed hundreds and hundreds of
- 6:28people with uh serious health conditions
- 6:30that were treating either conventionally
- 6:32or unconventionally. They were staying
- 6:34the same or getting worse and all of a
- 6:36sudden I got better. So what was the
- 6:38cause that produced the effect you know
- 6:40and the stories and what I learned was
- 6:42so amazing. I went back to school and
- 6:44studied neuroscience because mind was
- 6:46such a strong element. It wasn't diet.
- 6:49It wasn't celibacy. It wasn't any of
- 6:51those things. It was just really this
- 6:54element. And so then I was able to
- 6:56figure out that there were four common
- 6:58things.
- 6:59>> And then I wrote a book about it. And
- 7:01then I thought, God, if this works
- 7:04really on people that were sick and
- 7:06better and they come from all walks of
- 7:07life, all colors, all races, all
- 7:09genders, sexual preferences, but all of
- 7:11a sudden I wanted to see if I was able
- 7:14to reproduce it. So then I started
- 7:17seeing okay let's see if we can teach
- 7:19this
- 7:20>> be able to reproduce the outcome because
- 7:22that's science right so I went through
- 7:24about
- 7:24>> what were the four common things
- 7:26>> uh the first one was that there they all
- 7:28believed and accepted that there was an
- 7:30intelligence that lived within them that
- 7:32was giving them life and
- 7:33>> these people you interviewed who had had
- 7:35injuries that overcame
- 7:36>> no no these were people were with cancer
- 7:38MS lupus Parkinson's disease
- 7:40>> who got better
- 7:41>> yeah just spontaneously and it's called
- 7:42a spontaneous
- 7:43>> remission so they believe there was an
- 7:46intelligence.
- 7:46>> There was some invisible life force that
- 7:48was they were connected to that they
- 7:51felt like they had lost their connection
- 7:52to they became separate and disconnected
- 7:55from and that when they got the
- 7:56diagnosis they woke up and said man I
- 7:59got to connect again and I got to
- 8:00connect to my essence. Uh and so they
- 8:03developed a relationship with it just
- 8:05like you develop a relationship with
- 8:06anybody. It takes time. You got to be
- 8:08present. You got to connect. You got to
- 8:10experience. You got to be present. All
- 8:12of these things are important elements.
- 8:14So, so that was the first thing. Um, the
- 8:17second thing was that they realized that
- 8:19it was the mismanagement of their
- 8:22emotions and the hormones of stress that
- 8:25really began to create their condition.
- 8:28Now, now stress is when your brain and
- 8:30body are knocked out of balance. Stress
- 8:32is when your body's knocked out of
- 8:34homeostasis. We have an innate mechanism
- 8:36in our body that returns us back to
- 8:38order. So then if you're someone cuts
- 8:40you off on the LA freeway, you have a
- 8:43emotional reaction, but 15 minutes later
- 8:45you're back to driving and you're over
- 8:46it, right? That's all organisms in
- 8:48nature can tolerate short-term stress,
- 8:50right?
- 8:50>> But when it's all day long, all week,
- 8:52all year.
- 8:53>> Yeah. So if you're reacting to like if
- 8:55Tyrannosaurus Rex is chasing you, uh you
- 8:57have to make a decision. Am I going to
- 8:58use 20% of my energy? I'm going to use
- 9:00100%. So turns out when you're reacting
- 9:02to traffic,
- 9:03>> 200%.
- 9:04>> All right. after reacting to your
- 9:05coworker sitting in the cubicle next to
- 9:07you,
- 9:08>> you're you're turning on that response
- 9:09and what was once very adaptive becomes
- 9:12very maladaptive. Cuz when you turn on
- 9:13the stress response and you can't turn
- 9:15it off, now you're headed for disease
- 9:17cuz nobody can live in emergency mode
- 9:19for that extended period of time. Well,
- 9:20human beings, we can turn on the stress
- 9:22response just by thought alone. You can
- 9:24think about your problems and you're
- 9:26producing the same biological effects.
- 9:29So those chemicals
- 9:31give the brain and body a rush of energy
- 9:33and people become addicted to that rush
- 9:35of energy. So now they use the problems
- 9:37and conditions in their life to reaffirm
- 9:40their addiction to that emotion. They
- 9:41need the bad job. They need the poor
- 9:43relationship. So that means they become
- 9:45addicted to the life that they don't
- 9:47even like.
- 9:47>> Why do we why do we need the bad job or
- 9:49bad relationship and stay stuck in
- 9:51>> because it's a conditioned response. So
- 9:53listen, if you get angry at a coworker
- 9:57and all of a sudden you get an arousal
- 9:59in your brain and body, right? You get a
- 10:01rush of energy. When you start noticing
- 10:04that your body starts dropping, your
- 10:06brain starts noticing your energy starts
- 10:07dropping, you're automatically going to
- 10:10have the image of the coworker in order
- 10:12to what? Give your body the the next the
- 10:15jolt, right? So all of a sudden, people
- 10:18become addicted to their own thoughts,
- 10:20right? So these people realize that oh
- 10:22my god um I I I've been mismanaging my
- 10:26attention and energy and I got to I got
- 10:28to get beyond my past. I got to get
- 10:30beyond these emotions. I got to make
- 10:32some big changes. I got to break the
- 10:34habit of being myself. You know I got to
- 10:36stop being this person. Now that sounds
- 10:39really good theoretically and
- 10:41philosophically but change is such a
- 10:43hard thing. All right? Because the
- 10:45moment you come back to your senses and
- 10:46you step back into your life and you see
- 10:48that person or you go to that place or
- 10:50you're with that uh experience, so many
- 10:53people are unconsciously reacting in
- 10:58their thoughts and feelings to
- 10:59everything in their environment. So now
- 11:01their environment is controlling how
- 11:03they think and feel. So they realize
- 11:04that in order to change, you got to
- 11:06change the environment.
- 11:07>> They got to be greater than their
- 11:08environment, greater than the conditions
- 11:09in the world, greater than the
- 11:10circumstances. Be mindful of that every
- 11:12time a tough to be like, "Okay, I'm
- 11:14going to think differently. I'm not
- 11:15going to react
- 11:16>> right. I'm not going to go back. I'm not
- 11:18going to go back." Because the moment
- 11:19you start reacting emotionally, emotions
- 11:22are a record of the past. And if those
- 11:24emotions are driving your thoughts,
- 11:26you're thinking in the past. And if you
- 11:28can't think greater than how you feel
- 11:30and you believe your thoughts have
- 11:31something to do with your destiny,
- 11:33you're creating more of your past,
- 11:35right? So it turns out that the
- 11:37repetition of thinking and feeling and
- 11:38feeling and thinking these loops that
- 11:40people get caught in condition their
- 11:43body to subconsciously become the mind
- 11:45of that emotion. Which means now their
- 11:47body is their unconscious mind is
- 11:49believing they're living in the same
- 11:51past experience 24 hours a day, 7 days a
- 11:54week, 365 days a year. What's the
- 11:56relevance behind that? Well, the latest
- 11:58research on genes says genes don't
- 12:00create disease. It's the environment
- 12:02that signals the gene that creates
- 12:04disease. the emotional environment or
- 12:05the physical environment.
- 12:06>> Your environment, any environmental
- 12:08reaction, but if you're reacting
- 12:10emotionally to your environment the same
- 12:12way, you're signaling the same gene in
- 12:15the same way and now you're headed for a
- 12:16genetic destiny. So, the hormones of
- 12:19stress push the genetic buttons that
- 12:21create disease. If you can turn on the
- 12:23stress response just by thought alone,
- 12:25your thoughts can make you sick. And if
- 12:27your thoughts can make you sick, is it
- 12:29possible that your thoughts can make you
- 12:30well? So they began to realize that, oh
- 12:32my god,
- 12:33>> the repetition of thinking and feeling
- 12:35and feeling and thinking caused me to
- 12:37feel guilt and I don't even know it's
- 12:39guilt. It just feels like me. It's just
- 12:40I'm used to the same chemical
- 12:42continuity. Now the moment they decided
- 12:44to change, anytime you decide to change
- 12:46and change anything about yourself, get
- 12:48ready cuz it's going to feel
- 12:50uncomfortable.
- 12:51>> You're going to leave the gnome. Yeah.
- 12:52>> You're going to leave the familiar and
- 12:53you're going to step into the unknown.
- 12:55>> Even if the familiar is uncomfortable
- 12:56and painful,
- 12:57>> right?
- 12:58>> It's still going to be painful leaving
- 12:59the pain,
- 13:00>> right? Cuz some people are super happy
- 13:02being unhappy,
- 13:02>> right?
- 13:03>> So then they would rather cling to their
- 13:05suffering than take a chance in
- 13:07possibility. So these people said,
- 13:08>> I really have nothing to lose, right?
- 13:12>> So then they said, I'm willing to be
- 13:14uncomfortable and be in the unknown. And
- 13:16it turns out that's the perfect place to
- 13:18create from.
- 13:19>> So when the body is conditioned to
- 13:21become the mind, then to change is to be
- 13:24greater than the body, right? Because
- 13:26>> how do we become greater than the body?
- 13:27>> Well, that's a whole another
- 13:29conversation. Now let me finish this.
- 13:30Okay.
- 13:31>> So the third thing they said was okay so
- 13:35now that I know that I got to break the
- 13:36habit of being myself and I can't
- 13:38mismanage my thoughts and feelings. I
- 13:40got to change how I act. I got to watch
- 13:42how I speak. I got to become conscious
- 13:44of how unconscious I am because 95% of
- 13:47who we are by the time we're 35 years
- 13:49old is a set of memorized behaviors like
- 13:52a computer program. Emotional reactions,
- 13:54unconscious beliefs and perceptions. So
- 13:57the first step to change is to become
- 14:00conscious of how you think, to notice
- 14:02how you act, to pay attention to how you
- 14:04feel. And the act of observing those
- 14:06states of mind and body separates you
- 14:08from that program. Now you're you're
- 14:10you're the consciousness observing that
- 14:11program. It turns out the more conscious
- 14:14you become of how unconscious you are,
- 14:16you know, lighting a match in a dark
- 14:17place, that first step creates enormous
- 14:21amounts of chaos in the brain and body.
- 14:23And it's disturbing. So people just go
- 14:25back to the same addiction, the same
- 14:26emotion, the same problem. This feels
- 14:28better. No, that feels familiar. So they
- 14:30said, "Okay, now I got to change.
- 14:33>> I got to reinvent myself." Now this is
- 14:35really important because they started
- 14:37sitting down and thinking, "Okay, who in
- 14:40history do I admire? Who are great
- 14:42people, role models that I could follow?
- 14:44[clears throat] What are the qualities
- 14:44and characteristics that they have? How
- 14:47am I going to change?" You know, these
- 14:48are what we call frontal lobe questions.
- 14:50The creative center of the brain
- 14:52switches on. the emotional center
- 14:53settles down.
- 14:55So then they started thinking how would
- 14:57I have to be in a new life if I was
- 14:59really going to heal? What would I have
- 15:01to change about myself? Now there's this
- 15:03interesting phenomenon that if you close
- 15:05your eyes and you begin to think about
- 15:08doing something, you're an athlete, you
- 15:09understand this. If you're a background
- 15:12in football and you were running a
- 15:14pattern or you were doing something, you
- 15:16would rehearse it in your mind. Turns
- 15:18out that the act of mentally rehearsing
- 15:21something when you're truly present,
- 15:23your brain does not know the difference
- 15:25between what's going on out there and
- 15:26what's going on in here. In fact, your
- 15:29brain will begin to look like you've
- 15:30been doing it for the last 5 days and
- 15:32you've never run the course.
- 15:34>> So now your brain is no longer a record
- 15:36of the past because typically it is. Now
- 15:39it's a map to the future. So now you're
- 15:40priming your brain. So that became the
- 15:43very platform. you know, experiments
- 15:45with piano players. You know, you take a
- 15:46group of people that never played the
- 15:48piano before. You divide them into two
- 15:49different categories. You take one group
- 15:51of people, you teach them one-handed
- 15:53scales and chords. You do a brain scan
- 15:55on them. They come and practice for 2
- 15:57hours a day for 5 days. At the end of
- 15:59five days, if you rescan the brain, they
- 16:01grow new circuits on the opposite side
- 16:03of the brain. Nothing magical there. You
- 16:05learn something new. Learning is making
- 16:06new connections. Get some instruction.
- 16:08You get instruction. You get your body
- 16:09involved. Get your body involved. You're
- 16:11gonna have an experience. This
- 16:12experience enriches the brain. Pay
- 16:14attention to what you're doing. You got
- 16:16to pay attention and repeat it. Firing
- 16:17and wiring. You're going to assemble new
- 16:19circuits. You can take the other group
- 16:21of people, have them come for two hours
- 16:23a day for 5 days. Do a brain scan
- 16:24before, the brain scan after. Have them
- 16:27close their eyes and mentally rehearse
- 16:28playing those scales and chords. At the
- 16:31end of five days, they'll grow the same
- 16:34amount of circuits in their brain as the
- 16:35people who actually physically
- 16:36demonstrated the action. What does that
- 16:38mean? That means not only they change
- 16:40their brain by thinking differently, but
- 16:42their brain looks like they've been
- 16:44playing the piano for 5 days. Now, set
- 16:46them in front of a piano, never played
- 16:48the piano before. They'll play those
- 16:49scales and chords because their brain is
- 16:51wired to play it. So, now the act of
- 16:54rehearsing who they're going to be, what
- 16:56are the qualities, and beginning to get
- 16:58in this creative state began to lay down
- 17:01the circuits of a new personality. And a
- 17:04new personality is connected to a new
- 17:05personal reality. So the next question
- 17:07is, does that change the body? Take a
- 17:09group of men, have them do one-handed um
- 17:13curls in their mind and bring in an
- 17:16emotional component like stronger,
- 17:18harder, more intense, one hour a day for
- 17:20two weeks. At the end of two weeks, 13.5
- 17:24increase in muscle strength. Wow. Never
- 17:26lifted a weight. Now their body is
- 17:29changing by thought alone. So these
- 17:32people began to reprogram their brain
- 17:35and body and all of a sudden they began
- 17:38to act differently. Why? Because they
- 17:40installed the circuits. They began to
- 17:41think differently, of course. They began
- 17:43to feel differently. They they were no
- 17:45longer feeling pain. They're actually
- 17:47liking themselves, right? So that if
- 17:49they're living by a different emotion
- 17:51and they're they're feeling an elevated
- 17:53emotion before their healing before they
- 17:56were healed. They're not waiting for
- 17:57their healing to feel joy and gratitude.
- 18:00They're feeling gratitude and joy. Now,
- 18:01their body is believing that it's healed
- 18:03because the body's feeling the emotion
- 18:05ahead of the experience. And if the
- 18:06environment signals the gene and the end
- 18:08product of an experience in the
- 18:09environment is emotion, you're signaling
- 18:11the gene ahead of the environment. And
- 18:13what do genes do? Genes make proteins.
- 18:15And what are proteins responsible? The
- 18:17structure and function of the body. Now,
- 18:19you're literally becoming somebody else.
- 18:21And now you're turning down the genes
- 18:23for disease and you're turning up these
- 18:24other genes. So I started to realize
- 18:27that this reinvention process is exactly
- 18:30what we've always done. It's just that
- 18:31we get complacent in certain areas of
- 18:34our life and we stop. Now the last thing
- 18:35they had in common, the fourth thing is
- 18:38that when they were doing that rehearsal
- 18:39process that they had long moments where
- 18:42they lost track of time and space. In
- 18:44other words, they were so involved in
- 18:46their inner world
- 18:47>> of imaging
- 18:49>> that when they turn the light on the
- 18:51room or they lift their blindfold up or
- 18:53whatever they were doing, they thought
- 18:54it was 20 minutes later and it was an
- 18:56hour and 20 minutes later.
- 18:58>> And when you're truly focused and you're
- 19:00truly paying attention and you're in the
- 19:02present moment, all of a sudden you will
- 19:05leave this three-dimensional reality.
- 19:07And when you leave this
- 19:08three-dimensional reality, there's only
- 19:09one other place you go and that is the
- 19:11realm of thought. And that's called the
- 19:13quantum field. And that quantum field is
- 19:15where all possibilities exist. Right? So
- 19:18they were connecting to a field of
- 19:19information that had everything to do
- 19:22with the first principle which is that
- 19:24invisible intelligence that's both
- 19:25within us and all around us, personal
- 19:27and universal. It is it is the unifying
- 19:30field that governs everything material
- 19:32in this world. And if you're going to
- 19:34change something material,
- 19:35>> that means you got to get beyond your
- 19:37body to heal your body,
- 19:38>> right? Because if you're your body
- 19:39trying to heal your body, there's one
- 19:41thing that we can guarantee. It's going
- 19:42to take time. It's going to just take a
- 19:44long time because you're playing by the
- 19:45rules of Newtonian physics. You play by
- 19:47the rules of quantum physics. Energy
- 19:49dictates matter.
- 19:50>> So when you're truly in the field and
- 19:52you're making changes there, then the
- 19:54downward cascade neurologically,
- 19:56biologically, chemically, hormonally,
- 19:58genetically is the side effect of what's
- 20:00doing what's happening in the field.
- 20:02>> Accelerates. It
- 20:03>> accelerates it. Exactly. So you you do
- 20:04it in less time because you're more
- 20:07connected to a realm that doesn't play
- 20:08by time.
- 20:09>> You know, growing up in this religion
- 20:10that I grew up, it was a constant
- 20:13reminder, daily practice to think in a
- 20:15certain way, to think that you can never
- 20:18be physically harmed, that your infinite
- 20:20love, that your infinite light, your
- 20:22infinite soul, spirit, life, truth, and
- 20:24love. Right? was a constantly
- 20:26taught to me that I'm that I'm never
- 20:29able to get physically harmed.
- 20:31>> Mhm.
- 20:32>> And that if you are, that means your
- 20:34thought is off and you just have to
- 20:35recorrect your thought and you'll have a
- 20:37healing.
- 20:37>> Mhm.
- 20:38>> Right.
- 20:39>> It's a little extreme for some because
- 20:41and if you're not, you know, well
- 20:43practiced in it and if you don't know
- 20:44how to really manage the thoughts and
- 20:46train, then you can hurt yourself.
- 20:49>> Yeah. Exactly.
- 20:49>> You can really hurt your body and
- 20:50that's, you know, it happened. It
- 20:52happened for times. Um, but I used this,
- 20:56you know, philosophy, strategy,
- 20:58technique, idea in sports and I would
- 21:02rehearse constantly, like you talked
- 21:04about. I was constantly rehearsing the
- 21:06games, what I wanted to create for the
- 21:08season, for my my body, for my life.
- 21:10>> Mhm.
- 21:11>> And it's it just seemed like it would
- 21:13always happen. You know, I would
- 21:15rehearse constantly over and over and
- 21:17get lost in my [clears throat] thoughts.
- 21:19He called the quantum field. Is that
- 21:21what he called it? So, I was in the
- 21:22quantum field to be on the physical
- 21:23field. I was playing in the quantum
- 21:25field just like I'd be playing on the
- 21:27physical field.
- 21:28>> Exactly.
- 21:28>> And I remember I would watch um game
- 21:32film um world record holders in track
- 21:34and field and football and watch them
- 21:37every single night and mentally rehearse
- 21:39the same movements they would have
- 21:41before I would fall asleep.
- 21:43And then I would practice the next day.
- 21:45But I was constantly rehearsing in my
- 21:47mind how I wanted to show up. I was
- 21:49rehearsing this moment. Mhm.
- 21:51>> You know, in my life, 10 years ago, I
- 21:53was rehearsing what I've been doing this
- 21:55year in my life.
- 21:57>> Do you do this on a daily practice for
- 21:59yourself? And if so, how does that
- 22:01rehearsal look like?
- 22:02>> I do. I do. Um, so, so two things I
- 22:05wanted to say about that. I mean, first
- 22:07of all, this is really not for
- 22:10everybody. I mean, because it's a you
- 22:12got to be it's like pregnancy. Either
- 22:14you are or you're not. I mean, I mean,
- 22:15there's no in between.
- 22:17>> A little pregnant.
- 22:17>> You can't be kind of a little pregnant.
- 22:19Either you are or you're not. And so so
- 22:21you can't
- 22:21>> who is it for and who is it not for?
- 22:23>> Yeah. So so we what I found is that when
- 22:27I started studying spontaneous
- 22:29remissions it was for people who had
- 22:31reached the end of their emotional
- 22:32belief where there was no longer any
- 22:34answers. They had the doctors gave up on
- 22:36they had nothing else to do right and so
- 22:37they changed everything about themselves
- 22:39and even some of them were physicians
- 22:41you know it's just going like wow I what
- 22:43have I what have I been doing? But now
- 22:45fast forward to today. I mean in an age
- 22:48of information, ignorance is a choice. I
- 22:50mean you got so much information. You
- 22:52don't need a doctor. You don't need a
- 22:54teacher. You don't need a priest or a
- 22:56minister to gain information. You don't
- 22:57need an authority, right? You can
- 22:59technology gives us the very quick
- 23:02information. So no people are informed.
- 23:0520 years ago doctor said you have this
- 23:07health condition. Yeah. And not only
- 23:09that, you signed on line and got the
- 23:11treatment of the surgery. Fast forward
- 23:12to today, everybody just kind of goes,
- 23:14"Wait a second.
- 23:15>> Multiple opinions. Let me get this.
- 23:16>> Let me You go home and you research it
- 23:17and you say, "I want to try this." So
- 23:19now all of a sudden people are taking
- 23:20their power back. So So people are more
- 23:22informed. So surgical procedures,
- 23:25pharmaceuticals are not always the first
- 23:27choice for people because there's other
- 23:28ways and people only do the best with
- 23:31what's available. So now information has
- 23:34scaled and changed the way people face
- 23:36off with health conditions and now
- 23:38people are coming uh into this uh number
- 23:41one if they have a health condition that
- 23:43they can self-correct and number two
- 23:45there are people that are saying if I'm
- 23:46headed for a genetic destiny because my
- 23:49mother had this health condition my
- 23:50father had this and I know the gene
- 23:52doesn't create it but how I act and how
- 23:53I feel is going to signal the same gene
- 23:56well I'm going to just change my genetic
- 23:57future so now people are super proactive
- 24:00in the process Right. So that's point
- 24:03number one. But point number two is that
- 24:05if you if you start realizing that this
- 24:07is actually possible and and I can tell
- 24:10you that without a doubt it is because
- 24:13we were talking before we started the
- 24:14things that I'm witnessing. I mean in
- 24:17the beginning it was just like a person
- 24:18got a little better. They felt a little
- 24:20this little that you know their food
- 24:21allergies went away. But then all of a
- 24:23sudden we're talking about we in our
- 24:25last event two people with stage four
- 24:27cancer completely reversed. Wow. uh a
- 24:30woman with a very serious neurological
- 24:32disorder. They didn't even they couldn't
- 24:33even name it. Crutches, the whole bit,
- 24:36left the event, no crutches. Well, how
- 24:38did she do that?
- 24:40>> Well, let me ask you a question. If she
- 24:42doesn't look like a movie star and she's
- 24:44not buffed and young and attractive and
- 24:47successful, she's like a normal person.
- 24:49And you listen to this person's story
- 24:51and there's a thousand people listening
- 24:52to that story, you're going to scratch
- 24:53your head and say, "Wow, if she can do
- 24:55it, so can I." Mhm.
- 24:57>> And just like you know infection spreads
- 24:59amongst a community that creates
- 25:01disease, health and wellness can be as
- 25:03infectious as disease. So do I use it?
- 25:06Yes. But not in the way that people
- 25:08think. Like
- 25:09>> I I don't I I'm not interested in
- 25:12success. I've had it. I know that that's
- 25:13an important element. I think success is
- 25:15a side effect of who you are,
- 25:17>> but what am I after?
- 25:19>> I'm after making a difference in the
- 25:21world. I want people to become
- 25:23empowered. So my rehearsals, my
- 25:25meditations and connecting are all about
- 25:27the next thing that we can push the
- 25:29envelope for. In other words, if that
- 25:31person healed themselves of that health
- 25:33condition and this person healed
- 25:34themselves, is it possible for that
- 25:37person to heal another person? And if
- 25:39they can heal that other person, which
- 25:40is now happening, is it possible to heal
- 25:43somebody on the other side of the
- 25:44planet? But you just have to build the
- 25:46model and then come up with the science
- 25:48to be able to piece it together. And
- 25:50science turns out is the language they
- 25:53help to demystify that process. So I now
- 25:55know without a doubt if you give people
- 25:58sound scientific information. And every
- 26:02time they learn something new they're
- 26:03adding new connections in their brain.
- 26:05That's what learning is.
- 26:06>> Wow.
- 26:07>> And if they can begin to pay attention
- 26:09for just one hour now they're causing
- 26:12jungles of neurons to begin to organize
- 26:15as a platform of understanding. If I say
- 26:17to you now turn to the person next to
- 26:18you and explain what I said and we do
- 26:21this in our events. If you can turn to
- 26:23the person next to you and explain what
- 26:24you said, you've wired it in your brain.
- 26:26What's the relevance of that? Now you're
- 26:28installing the neurological hardware in
- 26:30your brain in preparation for an
- 26:32experience. And if the more you
- 26:33understand what you're doing and why,
- 26:35>> the how gets easier. And if nothing's
- 26:37left the conjecture, superstition or
- 26:40dogma or spiritual new age stuff, but
- 26:42it's grounded in science,
- 26:44>> you're going to have more intention
- 26:46behind what you're doing and you're
- 26:47going to assign more meaning to it.
- 26:49>> Believable.
- 26:49>> Exactly.
- 26:50>> Not just blind faith.
- 26:52>> No, something's backing it. And then if
- 26:54we can set up the conditions in the
- 26:56environment and give people the proper
- 26:58instruction and those people that get
- 27:01their behaviors to match their
- 27:02intentions and their actions equal to
- 27:04their thoughts. Think of their mind and
- 27:05body working together. They're going to
- 27:06have a new experience. And that
- 27:07experience then is going to enrich even
- 27:09more circuits in their brain. The end
- 27:11product of an experience is an emotion.
- 27:12All of a sudden they're going to feel
- 27:13unlimited. They're going to feel
- 27:14empowered. They're going to feel
- 27:15successful. They're going to feel
- 27:16worthy. Now they're teaching their body
- 27:19chemically to understand what their mind
- 27:21is intellectually understood. Knowledge
- 27:22is for the mind but experience is for
- 27:24the body and they're embodying that
- 27:25information. Well, they've done it once
- 27:28should be able to do it again. And when
- 27:30you keep repeating the experience, you
- 27:31know this as an athlete, it's going to
- 27:33become automatic. It's going to become a
- 27:34nade. It's going to become second
- 27:35nature. It's going to become who you
- 27:37are. You don't have to think about it
- 27:38any longer. So, take a person who was uh
- 27:41abused as a child. But an alcoholic
- 27:44parent who has a very rare genetic
- 27:46disorder, they've manifested weakness in
- 27:48their bones because that's the emotion
- 27:50they live by.
- 27:52genetic disorder that medical science
- 27:53says we have no way to help you. How do
- 27:56you explain
- 27:57>> after a year of every day going after
- 28:01it, overcoming herself, overcoming
- 28:02herself, overcoming herself to become
- 28:04someone else that no more any fractured
- 28:07bones, no evidence of broken bones, no
- 28:09more crutches, no more wheelchair
- 28:12running again. How do you explain that
- 28:14except she literally became someone
- 28:16else? She became somebody else. The
- 28:18disease existed in the old personality.
- 28:21She's not that person any longer. No.
- 28:22So, biologically, that's absolutely
- 28:24possible. So, for me,
- 28:26>> I chase the mystical.
- 28:28>> I want those profound moments where I
- 28:31cannot go back to being the same guy
- 28:33again. Because once you taste that wine
- 28:37or you drink from that well, all of a
- 28:39sudden, the way you perceive reality
- 28:41changes because you start to see things
- 28:45that always existed, but you didn't have
- 28:47the circuitry in place to perceive them.
- 28:49Why? Because the inner vent is an
- 28:51experience and experience enriches the
- 28:53brain. We don't see things how they are.
- 28:56We see things how we are. So as you
- 28:58begin to change your circuitry, you're
- 29:00going to perceive more of reality. And
- 29:02why? Because we we probably perceive 1%
- 29:05of reality. So how do we how do we begin
- 29:07to fully engage? Right? So for me, none
- 29:10of that matters. None of that veneer
- 29:12stuff matters. What matters is the
- 29:14essence. What matters is am I making a
- 29:15difference in the world? How can I begin
- 29:18to affect change and help people to heal
- 29:21or create a better life for themselves
- 29:23and not do it matter to matter you know
- 29:26with bravado and you know adrenaline and
- 29:28all that that's the old way this is
- 29:31about connecting and instead of going
- 29:32and getting it creating a field where
- 29:35you draw to you and the synchronicities
- 29:37and the coincidences
- 29:38>> and the opportunities that are coming to
- 29:40you as a result of you doing the inner
- 29:43work you're going to rush less in your
- 29:46life and you're going to be more aware
- 29:47of your energy. And nobody changes until
- 29:51they change their energy. And when you
- 29:52change your energy, you change your
- 29:54life. But that doesn't mean you change
- 29:55your energy, do a meditation, and you
- 29:57get up and get on a freeway and flip
- 29:59people off. You're just disconnected
- 30:01from the energy of your future. You got
- 30:03to be greater than the conditions in
- 30:05your environment. You got to maintain
- 30:06that state of being. You got to be
- 30:07greater than the habits and emotions of
- 30:09your body. And you got to sustain it for
- 30:11an extended period of time.
- 30:13>> How how do we change our energy? and how
- 30:14do we sustain it for extended period of
- 30:16time?
- 30:17>> How long does that time need to be until
- 30:18we really start to see
- 30:20>> sometimes immediate? Okay. So, so our
- 30:23research and we've done uh in the last 6
- 30:26years uh because we were seeing so many
- 30:28incredible incredible things going on in
- 30:31our workshops. I mean people stepping
- 30:32out of wheelerchairs and all kinds of
- 30:34crazy things.
- 30:35>> You're like a church.
- 30:36>> Well, kind of like
- 30:37>> a church like a mega church, [laughter]
- 30:39>> but hopefully not that
- 30:40>> based in science.
- 30:41>> Yeah. But but but
- 30:42>> isn't it amazing that some of these
- 30:44churches when people get to believe
- 30:46whether they have science backing it or
- 30:48not it's the belief in the mind
- 30:49>> step out into the unknown.
- 30:50>> You can step out of your body.
- 30:52>> Yeah.
- 30:52>> And and heal yourself instantaneously.
- 30:56>> Instantaneously.
- 30:56>> And we do see that a lot. And some
- 30:58people are like, "Ah, that's how can
- 30:59that be possible?"
- 31:00>> Well, how can it be possible? Look,
- 31:01we've we've I've done the research now.
- 31:03>> I've assembled a team of scientists.
- 31:05We've done 8,500 brain scans. I can tell
- 31:07you I can tell you when a person's about
- 31:09ready to change. I can tell you why
- 31:11people don't change. I can tell you what
- 31:13it takes to change.
- 31:14>> So, what's it take to change?
- 31:16>> Well, you change. Most people keep their
- 31:19attention always their awareness on
- 31:21their body. They keep their attention on
- 31:23everything in their environment, people
- 31:25[clears throat] and things. They're
- 31:26their brain is always scanning
- 31:28everything around us to determine what's
- 31:30known and unknown, what's safe and
- 31:31unsafe, right?
- 31:33>> And you know, we do that all the time.
- 31:35So our research shows that the moment
- 31:38you take your attention off your body
- 31:40and you go from somebody to nobody, you
- 31:43take your attention off the people in
- 31:45your life and go from who you identify
- 31:48with from someone to no one. And so many
- 31:50people spend their whole life building
- 31:52an identity of being someone. Take your
- 31:55attention off your cell phone, your
- 31:56computer, your car, and go from
- 31:58something to nothing.
- 32:00>> Take your attention off where you're
- 32:01sitting, where you need to be, someplace
- 32:03you have to go. will go from somewhere
- 32:04to nowhere and take your attention off
- 32:07time linear thinking about the
- 32:08predictable future or the familiar past
- 32:11and fall into the generous present
- 32:13moment and go from sometime to no time.
- 32:16Then all you're left with is
- 32:19consciousness and that's the moment
- 32:21you're no longer playing by the same
- 32:23rules of matter to matter. And there's
- 32:26an a a very elegant moment that takes
- 32:28place in the brain. In fact, I was just
- 32:31showing my research to a group of
- 32:32researchers in uh Santa Cruz this past
- 32:34week and they were blown away and I
- 32:37said, "Now watch this person. This
- 32:39person is going to have a
- 32:41transformational moment." They said,
- 32:42"How do you know?" I go, "I I've seen
- 32:43enough of these." And the next moment,
- 32:45the whole brain just lights up. That
- 32:47person is switched on. They they'll
- 32:49never be the same person again. They're
- 32:50having a transcendental moment. And we
- 32:53could actually predict it and teach it.
- 32:55Now, it's a formula
- 32:56>> just like you doing sports. It just
- 32:58becomes a formula and then you change
- 33:00the formula and you add to it. Right?
- 33:02>> So when you no longer are you're
- 33:07identifying with your body, your
- 33:08environment and time, that's the moment
- 33:10you're pure consciousness. Now
- 33:12>> you're just an idea.
- 33:13>> You're an awareness.
- 33:14>> Awareness.
- 33:15>> Awareness that has nothing to do with
- 33:17local space and time. And now if you're
- 33:20no longer
- 33:20>> go beyond anything.
- 33:22>> You can go beyond. And that's when the
- 33:24brain because the brain doesn't change
- 33:25the brain. It takes a long time. It
- 33:28takes a long time for the personality to
- 33:30change the personality. For the ego to
- 33:31change the ego, the programs that change
- 33:33the programs takes forever. Matter takes
- 33:35a long time to change matter. But when
- 33:37you're in this moment, you're no longer
- 33:40playing by those rules. Consciousness is
- 33:42the phenomenon above matter. In fact,
- 33:44consciousness is beginning to activate
- 33:46or manipulate circuits in the brain.
- 33:48People just think the brain is creating
- 33:49conscious. No, consciousness is
- 33:51executing the brain, right? So then if
- 33:54the brain can change
- 33:56then the mind doesn't change the brain.
- 33:58Mind is the brain in action. It's
- 33:59consciousness that changes it. So when
- 34:01people begin to disengage
- 34:04and get beyond themselves, you are at
- 34:06your absolute best when you get beyond
- 34:08yourself and getting the person to that
- 34:11point.
- 34:11>> How does someone get to that point?
- 34:13>> Yeah. So we teach them that formula. We
- 34:15teach them to that point where all of a
- 34:17sudden they reach that generous present
- 34:19moment where they just feel connected.
- 34:21And when they're in that place, all the
- 34:23things they thought they wanted, they
- 34:26actually no longer want because they
- 34:27feel like they already have them.
- 34:29>> So then imagine living your life from
- 34:32that place. You would be less uh
- 34:34judgmental. Uh you would be less
- 34:36frustrated. You would be less impatient.
- 34:38>> And so so the formula then is that it
- 34:41requires a clear intention which is a
- 34:44coherent brain. And when you're living
- 34:46stressed out and something goes wrong
- 34:50and you're threatened or you can't
- 34:52predict an outcome or you have the
- 34:53perception that something's getting
- 34:55worse or you can't control it,
- 34:57>> you switch on that fight orflight
- 34:58nervous system that we talked about.
- 35:00Now, here's what happens
- 35:01>> when that occurs. You start shifting
- 35:03your attention from one person to one
- 35:05problem to one thing to another person
- 35:06to another place because your brain is
- 35:09trying to predict the next moment. Well,
- 35:11every one of those people and things and
- 35:13places has this neurological network in
- 35:16your brain. So, as you shift your
- 35:17attention from one to the next, it's
- 35:18like a lightning storm in the clouds.
- 35:20Your brain starts firing very
- 35:22incoherently. When your brain is
- 35:23incoherent, you're incoherent. And when
- 35:26you're living by the hormones of stress,
- 35:27not a time to create.
- 35:29>> No.
- 35:29>> Not a time to open your heart. Not a
- 35:31time to learn. Not a time to trust. And
- 35:34it's a time to run, fight, or hide. So
- 35:36people spend 70% of their time of their
- 35:39life living in the state. Wow.
- 35:41>> So think about it. So miserable. Yeah.
- 35:42So then when you're under stress, if
- 35:44there's a if there's a cougar around the
- 35:46corner,
- 35:47>> you're not going to sit down and
- 35:48meditate.
- 35:49>> You're not going to sit still, right?
- 35:51But but so you got you got the survival
- 35:54gene switched on and nobody is going to
- 35:56believe in possibility when you're
- 35:57living in survival, right?
- 35:59>> So then when you're living in stress,
- 36:01what happens is you narrow your focus on
- 36:03the cause. you narrow your focus on
- 36:06matter, the object, the thing. And so
- 36:09people get switched on and all of their
- 36:11attention is on their outer world. When
- 36:13the hormones of stress kick on, the body
- 36:15gets an arousal. Now your attention is
- 36:17on the body. And of course, when you're
- 36:18under stress, you're trying to predict
- 36:19the future based on the past. And now
- 36:22you're literally enslaved into
- 36:23three-dimensional reality. So then how
- 36:25do you get what you want? You got to try
- 36:27harder. You got to force it more. You
- 36:28got to work harder. You got to fight for
- 36:29it. It's matter of trying to change
- 36:31mater.
- 36:34So then we now know that when you go
- 36:36from a narrow focus on something and you
- 36:39begin to open your focus, you create a
- 36:41sense, an awareness, that the act of
- 36:44opening your focus
- 36:46causes you to stop thinking. And if you
- 36:49stop thinking, you no longer activate
- 36:51those circuits and you start to slow
- 36:52your brain waves down. And as you slow
- 36:54your brain waves down, you start
- 36:55connecting through that autonomic
- 36:57nervous system, the thing that's giving
- 36:58you life. And all of a sudden, when you
- 37:00get beyond yourself, it says, uh, he's
- 37:02gone. let's step in and just clean up
- 37:04this mess before he gets back. Really?
- 37:06And its job is to create order and
- 37:07balance.
- 37:08>> Your body will start to do that for you.
- 37:09>> The innate intelligence will step right
- 37:10in. Once you connect, you got to
- 37:12connect. So, you got to know how to
- 37:13change your brain waves. You can't
- 37:14change your brain waves. You stay in
- 37:15that active state. You're basically
- 37:17moving furniture around. You're
- 37:18analyzing your life within some
- 37:20disturbing emotion. And I can tell you
- 37:22after looking at all those brain scans,
- 37:24>> if you're analyzing your life within
- 37:25some disturbing emotion, you're going to
- 37:28make your brain worse. In fact, you are
- 37:30thinking in the past. Right? So you
- 37:33teach people the formula how to open
- 37:34their focus changes their brain waves
- 37:37connect to that invisible field and all
- 37:39of a sudden different compartments of
- 37:40the brain starts synchronizing. The
- 37:43front of the brain starts talking to the
- 37:44back of the brain. The right side starts
- 37:45talking to the left side and all of a
- 37:47sudden what sinks in the brain links in
- 37:49the brain and all of a sudden you see
- 37:50this person starting to feel more like
- 37:52themselves. And when you see those two
- 37:54hemispheres of the brain start lighting
- 37:56up, watch out because that person's
- 37:58going to feel really whole. They're
- 38:00going to start loving life. They're
- 38:01going to feel like they're going to be
- 38:03in love with life because the union of
- 38:05polarity and duality is wholeness at the
- 38:07exact same time. Coherent brain, when
- 38:11you're resentful, when you're
- 38:12judgmental, when you're impatient, your
- 38:14heart beats out of rhythm. Why? You're
- 38:16stepping on the gas and you're stepping
- 38:17on the brake at the same time. Your body
- 38:20and its intelligence living in survival
- 38:22is saying T-Rex is back there, but
- 38:24you're not running because you're
- 38:26sitting across the table looking at
- 38:27somebody smiling and your body's revved
- 38:29up, right? So, the heart is beating
- 38:31arhythmically. And when that happens,
- 38:33you're you're squandering. You're using
- 38:35all the body's life force and turning it
- 38:37into chemistry, right?
- 38:38>> You're using all that energy to to
- 38:40survive as opposed to think beyond.
- 38:42>> Right. Right. So, you're drawing from
- 38:44your vital life force, that invisible
- 38:46field around your body, and you're
- 38:47turning into chemistry. you actually are
- 38:48going to shrink your own field. The
- 38:50hormones of stress cause us to be
- 38:52materialists, right? We we we when we're
- 38:54under stress, we're we're using our
- 38:56senses to determine reality. So now you
- 38:58feel more like matter and less like
- 38:59energy, more separate from possibility.
- 39:02So then to teach a person then how to
- 39:04regulate that heart center. And we do
- 39:06this uh we've done 6,000 heart scans.
- 39:10Why? Because if I can teach you how to
- 39:13get in that heart state and I can teach
- 39:15you how to activate that center and I
- 39:18can teach you how to regulate an
- 39:19elevated emotion, the heart starts to
- 39:21create a very coherent signature. And
- 39:23when the heart starts beating like a
- 39:25drum, like dropping a pebble in water,
- 39:27it begins to produce a measurable
- 39:29magnetic field up to 3 m wide. Now
- 39:32you're more energy than matter, more
- 39:34wave than particle. Now that field
- 39:37that's being created is measurable and
- 39:40that's an energy and energy is frequency
- 39:42and all frequency carries information.
- 39:45So what is the information when it makes
- 39:47it here in the world?
- 39:49>> It could carry the thought of your
- 39:50healing. Why? Because it's consistent
- 39:52with the energy. Guilt isn't going to
- 39:54carry the thought of your healing. It's
- 39:55a different frequency. And all of a
- 39:57sudden now the person is elevating their
- 39:59emotional state and they're allowing
- 40:01their thought to be carried on that
- 40:03frequency. They're broadcasting a whole
- 40:05new energetic signature. But thoughts
- 40:07are the language of the brain and
- 40:08feelings are the language of the body.
- 40:10And how you think and how you feel
- 40:12creates your state of being. So then the
- 40:14question is if you keep practicing
- 40:16>> creating that state of being, it should
- 40:18become familiar to you. Yes or no? The
- 40:20word meditation literally means to
- 40:22become familiar with. So then if you're
- 40:25practicing moving into these elevated
- 40:27states and your heart is coherent and
- 40:30we're measuring and I can say Lewis,
- 40:33you got it. Now do it for 30 minutes.
- 40:36Now do it for 60 minutes. And you
- 40:38practice creating that coherence. You'll
- 40:40know when you're there and when you're
- 40:41not. Yes or no? Sure.
- 40:42>> And then you would be able to say like a
- 40:44skill like anything else. Give me a
- 40:45minute. I'm going to step out and you're
- 40:47going to go back in the heart coherence
- 40:49and bring up that state. Now
- 40:50>> how do we get there in the heart?
- 40:51>> Oh then we practice the formula again.
- 40:53and rest your attention, start calling
- 40:55up elevated emotions. And when you start
- 40:57seeing that that starts happening, then
- 40:59you sustain it. Then you keep practicing
- 41:01and all of a sudden gets longer and
- 41:03longer and longer. Now, what's the
- 41:04relevance behind that? Well, we've
- 41:06measured neurotransmitters.
- 41:08So, when a person actually activates
- 41:10their heart, the heart releases a
- 41:12chemical called uh oxytocin. Oxytocin is
- 41:15actually the love chemical. Oxytocin
- 41:18signals nitric oxide. Nitric oxide
- 41:20signals another chemical called
- 41:22endothelial derived relaxing factor.
- 41:24What does that do? Causes the vessels in
- 41:27your heart to swell. You will literally
- 41:29have energy in your heart. You will
- 41:30literally feel like your [snorts] heart
- 41:32is full. Now, now once you have that
- 41:35feeling,
- 41:37>> you're not going to want to trade that
- 41:38feeling for anyone or anything. You're
- 41:40going to say, "Why would I judge that
- 41:42person? If I judge that person, I'm
- 41:43going to lose this feeling." Now, all of
- 41:45a sudden, you're self-regulating. Now
- 41:47once the heart is activated, I just was
- 41:49at the research lab this week.
- 41:52Once the heart is activated, it acts as
- 41:54an amplifier and it amplifies energy in
- 41:58the brain.
- 41:58>> Where does all anxiety stem from?
- 42:01>> Anxiety is doing this living in the
- 42:03survival. When you're living in
- 42:04survival, I'll tell you this. When the
- 42:06survival gene is activated, out of the
- 42:08infinite potentials in the quantum
- 42:09field, you'll always choose the worst
- 42:11case scenario. Why? Because if you're in
- 42:14survival and you're preparing for the
- 42:16worst, there's always better chances of
- 42:18surviving if anything less happens. So
- 42:20people are always selecting the worst
- 42:22thing in their mind and they begin to
- 42:24emotionally embrace that future before
- 42:26it happens. Thought and emotion, you
- 42:29start conditioning. So you're
- 42:30conditioning the body to become the mind
- 42:33of fear. You keep doing that enough
- 42:35times. Once the body becomes the mind,
- 42:37it's a subconscious program. Person has
- 42:39a panic attack. Try as you may to
- 42:41control it with your conscious mind. You
- 42:43can't. You programmed it subconsciously.
- 42:45Now you worry about the next panic
- 42:47attack. And now as you start worrying
- 42:49about the next panic attack, it's the
- 42:50vigilance that creates the next one.
- 42:52Wow. Now here's what's happening in our
- 42:53work.
- 42:55>> People who are self-regulating and
- 42:56creating these elevated states. We have
- 42:58we have heart scans of them sustaining
- 43:01heart coherence for a whole hour during
- 43:02a meditation. Then at the end of the
- 43:05day, they're still wearing the the
- 43:06monitor. It's 8:00 at night. They're not
- 43:09even in a meditation. And for a whole
- 43:10entire hour, they're in hard coherence.
- 43:12We say to the woman, "Uh, what's going
- 43:14on here?" She said, "I I have no idea. I
- 43:16was just getting ready for bed and all
- 43:18of a sudden my heart just swelled up. It
- 43:20was so intense. I had to lay on my back
- 43:21and surrender to love instead of
- 43:24surrendering to fear." She had a
- 43:25spontaneous love attack instead of a
- 43:28spontaneous panic attack. Now, I would
- 43:30call that the natural state of being. So
- 43:33then if you're living by those elevated
- 43:36states and you know how to feel that
- 43:37emotion of your future before it
- 43:39happens, you're less likely to wait for
- 43:42it to happen because you'll feel like it
- 43:43already happened. You're less likely to
- 43:45try to control it. You'll know that the
- 43:48moment you lose the feeling, you just
- 43:50disconnect it and you're going to make
- 43:51your way back. When you get good at it,
- 43:53no person, no thing, no experience can
- 43:56take it away from you. Now you're
- 43:58empowered. And if you understand the
- 44:00laws of how creation happens, then
- 44:02you're less likely to compete and rush
- 44:04to get what you want. You're going to
- 44:05know that it's going to come to you. And
- 44:07now that's the new model of how do we
- 44:09create
- 44:10>> knowing it's going to come to us at the
- 44:11right time. What if we want it faster?
- 44:14>> Yeah. You just do it again.
- 44:16>> But remember, if you're trying to make
- 44:18it happen faster, you're back to the old
- 44:21self,
- 44:21>> right?
- 44:21>> The new self would never do that. The
- 44:23new self would constantly stay there.
- 44:26And so then, how does it appear? It
- 44:28appears in a way that you can't expect
- 44:30because if you can predict it, it's the
- 44:32known. It's going to come in a way that
- 44:34you haven't thought of an unknown and
- 44:36it's and it's got to rock your world.
- 44:38It's got to catch you off guard. It's
- 44:39got to leave you no doubt that what
- 44:42you've been doing inside of you that
- 44:44produces some effect outside of you. And
- 44:45when you correlate what you've been
- 44:47doing inside of you with the effect that
- 44:49you produced outside of you, you're
- 44:50going to pay attention to what you did
- 44:51and do it again. and the energy of the
- 44:54joy that you feel when it happens,
- 44:56you're going to use that energy to
- 44:58create again.
- 44:59>> Now, people say to me, well,
- 45:00>> I'm this way because of that person and
- 45:02that thing. I would say to them, so you
- 45:04mean then that person or that experience
- 45:07out there is controlling your thoughts
- 45:09and feelings. [gasps] That means you're
- 45:11a victim to your environment. But when
- 45:13you start changing your thoughts and
- 45:15feelings and it starts to produce an
- 45:16effect in your environment, you're going
- 45:18to change the belief that you're a
- 45:20victim consciously or subconsciously of
- 45:23your life to becoming more of a creator
- 45:25of your life. And now all of a sudden
- 45:27you become more a creator of your life.
- 45:28You can't blame anybody. You can't say,
- 45:30"Well, that person that thing you'd have
- 45:31to say, I got to be greater than that
- 45:33environmental condition. Who in history
- 45:35can I study that had the same challenges
- 45:39that what was what did they do? Let me
- 45:40just work that into my rehearsal so that
- 45:43I can improve. Right. Just like you've
- 45:45done with sports, it's the same process.
- 45:47>> Yeah.
- 45:48>> When do you experience the most love?
- 45:51>> Oo. Personally,
- 45:53>> yeah, that's a great question. So, um,
- 45:55so it turns out that the signature of
- 45:58the quantum field is greater and greater
- 46:00degrees of oneness and wholeness, right?
- 46:02So, think about it. Um, when we live in
- 46:05stress, we live in separation, right?
- 46:07Because our senses fool us into
- 46:09believing you're there and I'm here and
- 46:11everybody is separate from us and
- 46:12everything is separate from us. That's
- 46:143D reality, right?
- 46:16>> But as you start opening this center,
- 46:19all of a sudden when you become nobody,
- 46:21no one, no thing, nowhere and no time,
- 46:24right? That's the moment that your
- 46:26consciousness lines up with the
- 46:27consciousness of the field. That's when
- 46:29you are totally present. Now, here's the
- 46:31deal. If I can get people to believe
- 46:33that just because they can't see
- 46:35something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
- 46:37That they can just connect and pay
- 46:39attention to that field and stay present
- 46:42with it and become more aware of it
- 46:44moment after moment after moment. Every
- 46:46interaction with that invisible field,
- 46:50every experience lays down new circuits
- 46:52in their brain for them to perceive more
- 46:53of it. Right.
- 46:54>> Right.
- 46:55>> So then as they keep their attention on
- 46:56it, they start moving closer and closer
- 46:58to it. So they experience less
- 47:00separation and more oneness and
- 47:02wholeness. So then when that happens
- 47:04there's a cascade
- 47:07>> of all kinds of physical and chemical
- 47:09and energetic things that begin to
- 47:11happen. So for me the the best way that
- 47:15I can describe that field is it's
- 47:17intelligent love. It's greater levels of
- 47:19order and unity and oneness. And when
- 47:21you strike it and you hit it, it is the
- 47:25most incredibly electric feeling you
- 47:27will ever have. It is the most familiar
- 47:30unfamiliar feeling you will ever have.
- 47:32You will swear that you are ancient in
- 47:35that moment. And you will connect and it
- 47:37won't be just like love for your puppy.
- 47:40You will feel it in every single cell of
- 47:44your body. And I mean like a a
- 47:46vibration, a a coherence where your body
- 47:50becomes electric. And the only way we
- 47:51can describe that is love. You you you
- 47:54taste that one time. Here's what I say.
- 47:58I always say
- 47:59>> the first time it happens, the first
- 48:01time it happened to me. And every time
- 48:02since when I come back to my senses, I
- 48:05always say the same thing. Joe
- 48:06Despensza, you got this all wrong
- 48:08because some veneer, some conditioning
- 48:12is lifted. start realizing that the way
- 48:14you think life is isn't that way. So now
- 48:19when I've had those moments, Lewis, I
- 48:21have said there cannot be any more love
- 48:24than this until the next experience.
- 48:27>> The next time
- 48:29>> I mean how much is there right? I mean
- 48:32you you get super humbled. You get
- 48:34>> When was the last time?
- 48:35>> Oo about uh well about uh 5 days ago.
- 48:39Yeah.
- 48:40>> What was the moment? Oh, I just had a
- 48:42very profound mystical experience. I was
- 48:45uh I'll I'll tell you the short story.
- 48:47>> And how often does it happen also?
- 48:48>> I don't know. I mean, I I I live for
- 48:50them. Yeah. Uh,
- 48:51>> so you try to do it every month if I can
- 48:53or
- 48:53>> No, I I I just do the meditations and uh
- 48:57and then when they happen and if I'm
- 49:00just in the right place and I don't have
- 49:01a plane to catch or an email to answer
- 49:04and I have a little laxity and I can
- 49:06kind of surrender into the moment, I
- 49:08just um I had this incredible uh I don't
- 49:13know how to describe this, but uh they
- 49:16there was a geometric pattern like a
- 49:19mandala. I don't know what it was. And
- 49:21it moved right through my entire body.
- 49:23And it was like uh working with me with
- 49:28my physical body. And if I could
- 49:30surrender to it, it was just incredible
- 49:32bliss. I mean, incredible incredible
- 49:35bliss. I mean, I don't know how to
- 49:36describe it. And and and when that
- 49:39occurs, uh
- 49:40>> when it happened to me, I had this my
- 49:43heart was just lit up like it was it was
- 49:46a was an experience. It wasn't a
- 49:47physical experience, you was it was from
- 49:49within. And here's the weird thing.
- 49:51Every time it happens, my heart feels
- 49:57alive. Like it lasts for days. Like the
- 50:00emotion from the experience
- 50:02>> lasts for days and people are like, "Uh,
- 50:04what's up with you?" Like what? And
- 50:06you're just kind of got
- 50:06>> so joyful.
- 50:07>> You got this big smile on your face. I
- 50:09just am so happy to be alive. Right. And
- 50:11so I think that [laughter]
- 50:13independent of listen I now know I mean
- 50:17we've measured genetic changes, hormonal
- 50:19changes, neurotransmitter changes. We've
- 50:21measured immune system responses by
- 50:23trading fear for gratitude. We've
- 50:26measured gene expressions. We now know
- 50:28that people can uh signal the gene to to
- 50:31for to reduce cancer and tumors. The
- 50:34signal the gene to grow new neurons. We
- 50:35measured this signal the gene for uh for
- 50:38stem cells to go to damaged tissues and
- 50:40repair them. Oxidative stress gene
- 50:42signal. We we've we've seen that in our
- 50:44in our students. Now, here's the deal.
- 50:48>> After all of those studies in the last
- 50:50six years, you can't tell me you're too
- 50:52old to do this work. Can't tell me that
- 50:54we got people in their 80s doing
- 50:56miraculous things. You can't tell me
- 50:58you're too sick to do this work.
- 51:01people that were the end of their life,
- 51:03stage four, and re turn that battleship
- 51:06around. You can't tell me that you had
- 51:07too turbulent of a past to do this for.
- 51:10People that were really rough pasts that
- 51:12are now free. You can't tell me uh
- 51:15you're not you've never meditated
- 51:16before. People have never meditated
- 51:17before. The most profound mystical
- 51:19experience. You you can't tell me you're
- 51:21too overweight, too underweight, too out
- 51:22of shape, too in shape. You can't tell
- 51:24me that anywhere because all colors, all
- 51:27races, everybody can do it. That's the
- 51:30cool part about it. And when you get a
- 51:31community of people together, uh, and
- 51:33you move them from one state of mind to
- 51:35another, there's this moment, and I can
- 51:38almost predict when it happens, the
- 51:40second or third day, where people just
- 51:42start hooking up. And then when they
- 51:44start hooking up, you know, we start,
- 51:46we're seeing now at our events. I mean,
- 51:49a lady that was blind from birth, 5%
- 51:52vision, by the end of the event was
- 51:54seen. I mean,
- 51:55>> how do you explain that? We had three
- 51:57people in the last two uh events that
- 51:59were deaf that are hearing now. Wow.
- 52:01>> People with crutches that were limited
- 52:04or walking without crutches and canes,
- 52:06spinal cord injuries, I mean Parkinson's
- 52:09disease in in a week
- 52:11>> like um that's got to be like that
- 52:14doesn't doesn't wake you up to what's
- 52:16possible. And you're witnessing a tumor
- 52:20>> in a woman's thyroid that was there at
- 52:22the beginning of the event is gone at
- 52:23the end of the event. I mean like you
- 52:25you got to scratch your head and just go
- 52:27wow the reality
- 52:29>> isn't at all the way I think it is.
- 52:31Right. And so there's this humility that
- 52:34comes like well I don't know anything
- 52:37>> but I'm willing to go down push the
- 52:39envelope a little bit more. So we're
- 52:42only as good
- 52:44as our ability to execute this. Right.
- 52:47But as we get better
- 52:48>> consistency of it too. Yeah. consist I'm
- 52:50all about consistency and I'm I'm be the
- 52:52first guy to say do the blood test do
- 52:55the scan let's do the test to make sure
- 52:58that it's just not in your mind it's in
- 53:00your brain let's know
- 53:02>> so so now so now the evidence then
- 53:04supports it that the the testimonials
- 53:07support it and all of a sudden people
- 53:10now are beginning to wake up uh to
- 53:12what's possible and just like the
- 53:13four-minute mile the four-minute mile
- 53:15was broken was broken the pierced the
- 53:18val everything We're just seeing now
- 53:20this same theme. We've p pierced a vow
- 53:23and people are just just all in. It's
- 53:26they're not 50% in. They're all in. And
- 53:29my goodness, we're creating this kind of
- 53:30wake and momentum. But not just for
- 53:32healing,
- 53:33>> but for creating new jobs and new
- 53:35relationships, new opportunities,
- 53:36>> abundance, everything, whatever it is
- 53:38that they want. People come, people come
- 53:39to the work for all kinds of reasons.
- 53:41And I don't really care.
- 53:43>> But by the time they start doing the
- 53:44work,
- 53:45>> all they really want to do is give.
- 53:47Because when you feel so amazing and
- 53:49feel so great about yourself that you no
- 53:52longer want anything, the first thing
- 53:54you want to do is give. I mean, when we
- 53:56see that brain scan moving into
- 53:58coherence and those two hemispheres come
- 53:59together and all of a sudden we see that
- 54:00heart just start going boom boom very
- 54:03orderly and see the more energy going in
- 54:06the brain, the brain goes into super
- 54:07coherence. You can walk around and look
- 54:09at that person who's getting the brain
- 54:11scan and there are tears of joy rolling
- 54:13down her face. And do you feel like
- 54:15you've answered those questions to for
- 54:17yourself? Who am I? Why am I here? What
- 54:20am I doing?
- 54:21>> Yeah, I think so. I I think though
- 54:24>> or there questions you still haven't
- 54:25answered.
- 54:26>> No, I mean it's not that there's
- 54:27questions that I still haven't answered.
- 54:28It's just that I'm I'm always changing
- 54:30my answers because I'm not I mean even
- 54:33my definition of surrender just from 6
- 54:36months ago is not even close to the same
- 54:38definition that I have today.
- 54:40>> What's the definition now? Well,
- 54:42surrender, I mean, was just greater
- 54:43degrees of letting go and trusting. I
- 54:46just like like if like when my world is
- 54:48going sideways and my staff is just
- 54:51freaking out, I'm always like, "Oh, I'm
- 54:54just going to let go. I'm just I'm not
- 54:56going to control anything." They're
- 54:57like, "What? The ship is sick." Like,
- 54:59"Yeah, but I got to go against the
- 55:00chemicals and I got to trust
- 55:02>> because if you're going to stress in
- 55:03that moment and have anxiety, you're
- 55:05going to create more than that."
- 55:06>> Oh, you're you're going to make things
- 55:08worse. So, I just let go all the way.
- 55:10all the way and and and you got to lay
- 55:13down the very thing you used your whole
- 55:16life to get what you want for something
- 55:19greater to occur. And that's not that's
- 55:21not one bite. That's not one leap.
- 55:24>> It's a practice. And so is letting go a
- 55:27little bit more and trusting. If you if
- 55:29you over surrender, that's that's lazy
- 55:32and lethargic. If you over inend, that's
- 55:35trying and forcing. So there's this
- 55:37razor's edge between intention and
- 55:39surrender, right? You got to be able to
- 55:41be able to
- 55:42>> take action,
- 55:42>> right? Yeah. Right. But surrender,
- 55:44right? Right. But you don't want to get
- 55:45in the way, right? So, and [laughter]
- 55:46that's just it's a lot of trial and
- 55:48error, you know, but you figure it out,
- 55:49right?
- 55:50>> Wow.
- 55:50>> Yeah.
- 55:53>> What do you feel like your mission is
- 55:54right now then?
- 55:55>> Wow. So, um for me right now, I mean, my
- 55:58passion is our these weeklong events. Uh
- 56:02>> how many do you do a year?
- 56:03>> We do about 10 uh about Oh, just a
- 56:06little less than once a month, you know,
- 56:08around the world. and it's usually about
- 56:10a thousand people. Uh and now what we're
- 56:13doing is we're doing this whole another
- 56:14level. We're doing two uh really cool
- 56:17things. One is a challenge activity. And
- 56:20what I want to do is uh we now know that
- 56:22our students can create a lot of brain
- 56:24and hard coherence, but they can do it
- 56:26with their eyes closed in a room with a
- 56:27thousand people and soft music playing.
- 56:29They feel safe. But
- 56:31>> now let's get them in a situation where
- 56:34that would normally elicit fear or some
- 56:36emotion.
- 56:37>> Get them in the real world. Get them in
- 56:38the real world and get them up somewhere
- 56:40where they're feeling a little
- 56:41uncomfortable
- 56:43>> or they're being challenged through
- 56:44endurance
- 56:46>> and let's see them create brain heart
- 56:48coherence right on that spot. Like this
- 56:49is this is the moment. This is this is
- 56:51your life.
- 56:52>> Like you got to be able to do this right
- 56:54now. You can't say I can't. It's too
- 56:56hard. I can't do this. I'll start
- 56:58tomorrow. I don't want to. That's not
- 57:00the moment. That's what you do in your
- 57:02life. Let's put you there and instead of
- 57:03just white knuckling and pushing
- 57:05through, let's get really conscious,
- 57:07>> surrender.
- 57:08>> Let's get really present.
- 57:10>> Let's create that heart and brain
- 57:11coherence and let's work it and then
- 57:13make the move when you're in that state,
- 57:15you know, rhythm through that
- 57:17resistance. Create that kind of
- 57:18coherence
- 57:19>> and and and and I was just at the
- 57:22HeartMath Institute who we partner with
- 57:24and we were the Doc Chiler, the guy that
- 57:26created HeartMath, he said it's all
- 57:28about rhythm through resistance. It's
- 57:30about that ability to create that kind
- 57:32of internal order when there's chaos
- 57:34going on around you. So what's the
- 57:36relevance of that? the person who's
- 57:39going through a challenge activity,
- 57:41that's a huge obstacle course and they
- 57:44have the belief that they have a spinal
- 57:45cord injury or they have MS or
- 57:47Parkinson's disease and they never try
- 57:49anything in their life and we got them
- 57:50up there and there's people rooting for
- 57:52them and they're in that state and
- 57:54they're in that heart coherence and they
- 57:55go through that whole course and they've
- 57:58overcome they're going to walk back in
- 58:00their life and whatever challenges that
- 58:02they have they're going to be like this
- 58:04is nothing I've just reset the scale.
- 58:07So, and the other thing is that people
- 58:09move past where they normally can go.
- 58:11There's a liberation of energy and
- 58:13that's available energy that just needs
- 58:15to be organized. So, that they start
- 58:17organizing that energy, then they're
- 58:18doing magic. The other thing we're
- 58:20working on is um is uh non-local
- 58:22healing. We call the cage. We got a
- 58:25person to lay down with a health
- 58:26condition. We get eight people around
- 58:28them. We teach them about energetic
- 58:30coherence. We talk to them about the
- 58:32science that it's not matter that emits
- 58:34a field. It's the field that creates
- 58:36matter. Change the field, you change
- 58:38matter, we give them the science and the
- 58:40understanding and then we let them go.
- 58:42And we have seen people
- 58:45all kinds of healings take place in 10
- 58:47minutes. Like how do you explain that?
- 58:49How do you explain a person laying there
- 58:51who wasn't even being touched and their
- 58:53entire body is moving in all these
- 58:55different directions by with energy?
- 58:58It's it's incredible. So
- 59:00>> I want to develop that. Why I want to
- 59:02get so good at that, Lewis, that 50% of
- 59:05those people that are laying down get up
- 59:07healed. We're going to walk into a city
- 59:09when we do a weeklong event. We're going
- 59:10to call the children's hospital. We're
- 59:12going to say, "Send those kids with
- 59:13cancer. We're going to we're going to
- 59:15we're going to [clears throat] change
- 59:17futures, right?" And and and man, you
- 59:19know, you talk about opening your heart,
- 59:21but if you you think you open your
- 59:24heart, but when you get an opportunity
- 59:25to give and and you and these people
- 59:27have been working all week long, when it
- 59:30comes time to heal, they're not saying,
- 59:31"Oh, my back hurts." They're not saying,
- 59:33"How long is this going to go? Am I
- 59:35doing it right?"
- 59:35>> Transform someone's life. Yeah.
- 59:37>> They left that they left those attitudes
- 59:39on Monday. This is Friday. This is
- 59:41Saturday. They're not They're hooked.
- 59:42They've been connecting to the field all
- 59:44week long. They're not They're not in
- 59:45their analytical mind. They're beyond
- 59:47their body. They know how to get beyond
- 59:49their environment. They they know how to
- 59:50get beyond time. So when it comes time
- 59:53to execute, they've been practicing all
- 59:55week. They've been in a camp. They've
- 59:57been practicing. So So you get a group
- 59:59of people doing that together and all of
- 1:00:00a sudden the energy we've measured the
- 1:00:02energy of the room and the energy of the
- 1:00:03room always goes up. It just goes up.
- 1:00:06And that's available energy to heal.
- 1:00:08That's available energy to do the
- 1:00:09mystical. So
- 1:00:10>> I just want to get consistent and I want
- 1:00:13to get really good at it.
- 1:00:14>> And it and it's not about me. not get
- 1:00:16out of yet.
- 1:00:17>> Well, we we were making great changes in
- 1:00:20like unbelievable changes in people's
- 1:00:22health. But before I step out into the
- 1:00:24world and say, "Let's go to the
- 1:00:26children's hospital in Toronto
- 1:00:28>> and let's call up the oncologists there
- 1:00:30and say, "Hey, we'll never touch the
- 1:00:31kids.
- 1:00:32>> We'll just lay them down.
- 1:00:34>> It'll just be a half an hour. They'll
- 1:00:35just be laying on the ground and then
- 1:00:37we'll be done."
- 1:00:38>> And develop a relationship. I want to be
- 1:00:40good enough
- 1:00:42>> that when we do do it that we're going
- 1:00:45to execute an outcome and and and that
- 1:00:47way we're beyond reproach. It's no
- 1:00:49longer a bunch of spiritualists doing
- 1:00:50this. There's a science behind it and we
- 1:00:52now know it.
- 1:00:53>> Thousands of cases or
- 1:00:54>> Yeah. We've got we've got tons of cases
- 1:00:56now,
- 1:00:57>> but I don't know the statistics. We're
- 1:00:58going to start doing the statistics now
- 1:01:00and we're going to start tracking those
- 1:01:01changes. So then I can say without a
- 1:01:03shadow of a doubt, yeah, we're at 30%
- 1:01:05our last three events we had 30%
- 1:01:07remission. Not not just like it goes
- 1:01:09away for a little bit, but it goes away
- 1:01:11and stays away.
- 1:01:12>> That's cool.
- 1:01:12>> And some people go in the healing, they
- 1:01:14get in the cage for their knee problems
- 1:01:15and they come out hearing better. That
- 1:01:17just happened to a guy the other day. He
- 1:01:19he he had a bad knees and he was he went
- 1:01:21in to get his knees healed, but he
- 1:01:23forgot that he's, you know, he didn't
- 1:01:25think about his hearing problem. He got
- 1:01:26bit by a poisonous snake when he was
- 1:01:28like a three-year-old kid and always had
- 1:01:30hearing problems, wears hearing aids,
- 1:01:31the whole bit. comes out of the the he
- 1:01:34said he had never felt in that amount of
- 1:01:36love in his entire life. And that's the
- 1:01:38common thing that people say. The woman
- 1:01:39that got her vision back.
- 1:01:41>> That's not what she talked about. She
- 1:01:43didn't talk about the fact that she
- 1:01:44could see. All she kept saying was, "I
- 1:01:47feel like a child again. I feel like a
- 1:01:49baby again. I feel fresh. I feel like
- 1:01:51I'm newborn. I feel clean." She kept
- 1:01:54talking about how she felt. Then she
- 1:01:56said, "Oh yeah, and I can see faces
- 1:01:57now." And there were these two big uh
- 1:02:00>> flower arrangements on the stage. And
- 1:02:02she said, "I thought those were guards
- 1:02:04guarding Dr. Joe the whole week. She
- 1:02:06couldn't even see the flowers. She just
- 1:02:07saw the, you know, the thorn." And she
- 1:02:09go, "I can see the flowers now." But but
- 1:02:11the first thing was how they felt. And
- 1:02:13he the same way. He said, "I had never I
- 1:02:16was sobbing. I never felt so much love
- 1:02:18in my life. It wasn't like I was trying
- 1:02:20to feel it. It just happened." And he
- 1:02:22said, "And I got up and all of a sudden
- 1:02:24I could hear Dr. Joe talking without my
- 1:02:25hearing aids." And I just kind of like
- 1:02:27my knees were a little better, but my
- 1:02:29hearing is a lot better, you know? So,
- 1:02:31you never know, right? You never know.
- 1:02:33>> Shoot. Everyone's got to get in the
- 1:02:34cage.
- 1:02:35>> In the cage. Yeah.
- 1:02:36>> I like to give people a challenge. I'm
- 1:02:38curious. I want everyone listening for
- 1:02:41the next seven days to try something.
- 1:02:43>> And if you could
- 1:02:46give one to three different things that
- 1:02:48we could think differently or eliminates
- 1:02:51>> when a thought comes to us or we react
- 1:02:54in a certain way. If there's something
- 1:02:55you think, we eliminated one, two, or
- 1:02:58three things. and we did this every day
- 1:03:00for seven days, we would start to see
- 1:03:03incredible
- 1:03:04>> feelings of differently, would feel
- 1:03:05healthier, more lively, more loved. What
- 1:03:07would be those two things?
- 1:03:08>> Okay. Well, most people number one, they
- 1:03:10get up in the morning and uh the first
- 1:03:12thing they do is they think about the
- 1:03:14problems in their life.
- 1:03:15>> And those problems are memories from the
- 1:03:18past. So the moment they think about
- 1:03:20their problems, they're thinking in the
- 1:03:21past, right? Every one of those problems
- 1:03:23has an emotion attached to them. So they
- 1:03:25start feeling unhappy or unworthy or
- 1:03:27whatever. and how you think and how you
- 1:03:29feel is your state of being. So most
- 1:03:30people's entire state of being is in the
- 1:03:32past when they start today. So if
- 1:03:34they're in the familiar past, they're
- 1:03:35going to live in a predictable future,
- 1:03:37right? So they get up and they check
- 1:03:38their cell phone, they check their text,
- 1:03:40their WhatsApp, their Facebook, they
- 1:03:42post something on Facebook, they tweet,
- 1:03:43they Twitter, they check the news, then
- 1:03:45they go to the bathroom, get a cup of
- 1:03:46coffee, take a shower, get dressed,
- 1:03:48check more emails, drive to work the
- 1:03:50same way, do the same thing. So they're
- 1:03:52in a program. They've actually lost
- 1:03:53their free will to the program.
- 1:03:55>> Wow. So if you start your day and you
- 1:03:58start your day with this simple
- 1:03:59question,
- 1:04:01>> what is the greatest ideal of myself
- 1:04:03that I can be today?
- 1:04:05>> You ask yourself that question. Now
- 1:04:07listen, your body's going to go like,
- 1:04:08well, we got to get a cup of coffee and
- 1:04:09you got tired and you got to go, uh uh
- 1:04:12uh uh uh body,
- 1:04:14>> uh you're not the mind. I'm the mind
- 1:04:15right now. You're going to sit here. I'm
- 1:04:17going to feed you.
- 1:04:18>> Uh you're going to get your coffee.
- 1:04:19You're going to do all those things, but
- 1:04:20right now this is my time and you're
- 1:04:22going to obey me. Right? So now the body
- 1:04:26is no longer the mind. You're the mind.
- 1:04:27And so when it wants to get up and you
- 1:04:29become aware of it, you return back to
- 1:04:31the present moment. Every time you do
- 1:04:32that's a victory
- 1:04:34>> and you're changing some aspect of
- 1:04:35yourself. So then ask yourself, I do
- 1:04:38this all the time. Write down four
- 1:04:40thoughts that you're going to stay
- 1:04:42conscious of the whole day. I can't.
- 1:04:43It's too hard. You'll be surprised the
- 1:04:45moment you become conscious of what
- 1:04:47those thoughts are, how unconscious
- 1:04:48you've been to them all day, all for
- 1:04:51weeks on in. Write down what you speak,
- 1:04:53how you speak, four things you want to
- 1:04:55change. How you act, how do you how do
- 1:04:58you act? Do you complain? Do you blame?
- 1:05:00You make excuses. You feel sorry for
- 1:05:01yourself. That's a victim consciousness.
- 1:05:04What emotions do you live by? Is it
- 1:05:06possible that you're so used to living
- 1:05:07by guilt? You don't even know it's
- 1:05:09guilt. It just feels like you. Do you do
- 1:05:11you allow your energy to drop? Become
- 1:05:13conscious of those states of mind and
- 1:05:14body and review them and say, "This is
- 1:05:17the old self." Then say, "What thoughts
- 1:05:20do I want to fire and wire in my brain?"
- 1:05:23And start firing and wiring and start
- 1:05:25feeling it. What behaviors will I
- 1:05:27demonstrate today? What choices will I
- 1:05:28make? One day, one lifetime. And just
- 1:05:31like you did, rehearse them.
- 1:05:33>> Rehearse the whole entire thing. Begin
- 1:05:35to install the neurological hardware in
- 1:05:37your brain. And if you keep installing
- 1:05:39it, the hardware is going to become a
- 1:05:40software program. You're going to start
- 1:05:41thinking and acting that way. And then
- 1:05:43here's the tough part.
- 1:05:45Can you teach your body emotionally what
- 1:05:48your future's going to feel like before
- 1:05:50it's made manifest?
- 1:05:52>> And don't get up until you feel that
- 1:05:54way. No. Practice that for a few days
- 1:05:58and then see if you can stay in that
- 1:06:01state and watch all of a sudden all
- 1:06:03those weird doors start opening for
- 1:06:06>> synchronicities.
- 1:06:06>> Synchronicities, whatever they are.
- 1:06:08Number two,
- 1:06:09take a time at the end of your day, the
- 1:06:12end of your day before you lay down and
- 1:06:14give thanks for your life and feel
- 1:06:17gratitude and really teach your body
- 1:06:19what it feels like. The emotional
- 1:06:21signature of gratitude when gratitude
- 1:06:24means you're getting something. If I
- 1:06:26[clears throat] give you something
- 1:06:27that's of value, you would say thank you
- 1:06:29because you would feel it, right? So
- 1:06:31when you're receiving,
- 1:06:33>> you're giving thanks. So gratitude is
- 1:06:35the ultimate state of receiving.
- 1:06:38>> So then people only accept, believe, and
- 1:06:40surrender to the thoughts equal to their
- 1:06:42emotional state.
- 1:06:43>> So if you're in a state of gratitude,
- 1:06:46every thought's going to make it right
- 1:06:47down into your body. If you're saying,
- 1:06:49"I'm I'm healthy. I'm healthy. I'm
- 1:06:50healthy. I'm wealthy. I'm wealthy. I'm
- 1:06:52wealthy." And your body's programmed in
- 1:06:53negativity. It's saying, "No, you're
- 1:06:55not. No, you're not. No, you're not."
- 1:06:56Thought it's going to stop right here.
- 1:06:57So as you elevate your state, there are
- 1:07:00about 1,200
- 1:07:03different chemical reactions that go on
- 1:07:05in the body that begin to restore and
- 1:07:06repair the body in a state of gratitude.
- 1:07:08And so we've done the research to prove
- 1:07:10that 10 minutes and just feel it with
- 1:07:14all of your heart. That's it.
- 1:07:16>> Wow. Third thing and and very important
- 1:07:21take time whenever it is [clears throat]
- 1:07:24sit down, close your eyes and begin to
- 1:07:27just open your awareness to the space
- 1:07:30around you and just sense it and pay
- 1:07:32attention to it and become more aware of
- 1:07:34it. The act of opening your awareness
- 1:07:36begins to reduce the stress hormones and
- 1:07:38creates more coherent brain wave states.
- 1:07:41I'm doing it right now and it's just a
- 1:07:43practice. Yeah,
- 1:07:44>> it's just a practice and the more you do
- 1:07:46it, the better you get at it.
- 1:07:47>> Wow.
- 1:07:48>> Who's been your greatest teacher?
- 1:07:50>> Oh, life. No doubt about it. I believe
- 1:07:52that life is our initiation. I mean, uh
- 1:07:55I I um I I do my best to see my life as
- 1:08:00a reflection of my mind. And I think
- 1:08:03that
- 1:08:04>> and I think that life is our greatest
- 1:08:05teacher.
- 1:08:06>> Reflection of your mind is essentially
- 1:08:08like
- 1:08:10what you've created is a reflection of
- 1:08:12how you've been thinking.
- 1:08:12>> Yeah. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:08:14>> So, if you're showing up sick
- 1:08:15physically, then that's what you've
- 1:08:16created in your body.
- 1:08:17>> Look, I don't believe the germs make me
- 1:08:18sick. I believe I make me sick. I do. I
- 1:08:21mean, there's no germs with my name on
- 1:08:24it out there. I mean, they're called
- 1:08:25opportunistic bacteria cuz they're
- 1:08:27waiting for an opportunity for your
- 1:08:28immune system to be compromised.
- 1:08:30>> And so, for me personally,
- 1:08:33I you have to ask myself this question
- 1:08:35every day.
- 1:08:37>> At what point do I stop believing that I
- 1:08:40create my life? What what is that point?
- 1:08:42So I'm always pushing that envelope a
- 1:08:44little bit more. So for me I think life
- 1:08:47is our initiation. We don't need to go
- 1:08:50to any ancient school of wisdom in the
- 1:08:52Himalayas. We we life is our initiation.
- 1:08:55And when you meet the challenges in your
- 1:08:57life from a greater level of mind,
- 1:09:00>> you're going to begin to move through
- 1:09:01those initiations. And what is the side
- 1:09:04effect of that? Wisdom.
- 1:09:06>> And that's what we take with us. Yeah.
- 1:09:07Being wise.
- 1:09:08>> Powerful.
- 1:09:09>> Wow. How can we connect with you online
- 1:09:11and go to your events? What's the best
- 1:09:14place to go to to see everything?
- 1:09:16>> Yeah. So, my website is just
- 1:09:17drispensza.com.
- 1:09:19drpensza.com
- 1:09:21and there's just a ton of resources
- 1:09:23there. We we have an online progressive
- 1:09:25course. Now, I don't teach those courses
- 1:09:27anymore because my interest is in the
- 1:09:28weeklongs. So, for people who come to a
- 1:09:30weeklong, they do a a home study course
- 1:09:34where they get the basics, they
- 1:09:35understand what we're doing. Uh it's
- 1:09:37about 23 hours. They can do it in
- 1:09:38however long they want and they'll and
- 1:09:40then with that comes another study
- 1:09:42course and then they can come to a week
- 1:09:44long and join a community of people that
- 1:09:46are all about passion and the unknown.
- 1:09:48>> Amazing.
- 1:09:49>> Yeah.
- 1:09:49>> Amazing. When's the next event?
- 1:09:51>> Um well the next event gosh the next
- 1:09:54week long is in Toronto uh September 1st
- 1:09:57through 7th and uh it's pretty close to
- 1:10:00sold out. Yeah. Then we'll be in the uh
- 1:10:02in Australia in October and then uh the
- 1:10:04UK in November and then Cancun, Mexico
- 1:10:07in December. And then I got, you know, I
- 1:10:09got a couple events that I'm doing here
- 1:10:11and there. Well, other things. Yeah.
- 1:10:13>> Listen.
- 1:10:13>> Yeah.
- 1:10:14>> Um couple final questions for you. This
- 1:10:17one's called the three truths they ask
- 1:10:18everyone at the end.
- 1:10:20>> If you imagine it's your last day many
- 1:10:22years from now,
- 1:10:23>> Mhm.
- 1:10:24>> and you've achieved or created or been
- 1:10:26anything you've wanted to do, you've
- 1:10:28done it all, right? Everything you can
- 1:10:30think of has happened, created it.
- 1:10:33Books, events, whatever you want to do,
- 1:10:35heal the world, you've done it all.
- 1:10:36>> Mhm.
- 1:10:37>> Um, for whatever reason, you've got to
- 1:10:39take everything with you. All your
- 1:10:40writings, your research, your material,
- 1:10:42videos, events. It's not available for
- 1:10:44anyone to have anymore.
- 1:10:46>> Mhm.
- 1:10:47>> But you have a piece of paper and you
- 1:10:48get to write down three things you know
- 1:10:50to be true about your life or the
- 1:10:52lessons that you would leave behind. And
- 1:10:54this is the only lessons that they would
- 1:10:55have access to.
- 1:10:57>> Mhm. What would you say are you got
- 1:10:59three truths?
- 1:11:00>> Oh wow. Uh number one is that the divine
- 1:11:03lives in every human being and that uh
- 1:11:06we have to make an effort to connect
- 1:11:08with it every day and when we do it
- 1:11:10answers the call in ways that we would
- 1:11:12just never anticipate
- 1:11:14and uh I know that to be the truth and
- 1:11:17that uh nobody is so special to be
- 1:11:20excluded from that. Uh number two is
- 1:11:24that uh we are the creators of our lives
- 1:11:26and not the victims of our lives. And
- 1:11:28that taking time in your life to invest
- 1:11:31in yourself is uh to invest in a future.
- 1:11:34And when you invest in yourself, you
- 1:11:36invest in your future. And when you
- 1:11:37believe in yourself, you believe in
- 1:11:39possibility. And I think that everybody
- 1:11:42secretly believes in themselves. And so
- 1:11:44taking time
- 1:11:45>> to understand that we are just works in
- 1:11:48progress and and to find time to forgive
- 1:11:51ourselves and to forgive others
- 1:11:54>> to start fresh this the next day is a
- 1:11:57blessing is a blessing and and finally
- 1:12:00uh um I think that it it's not our
- 1:12:03purpose in life to be popular or
- 1:12:06successful or beautiful or or uh
- 1:12:10intelligent. Our purpose in life is to
- 1:12:13remove those blocks, those veils, those
- 1:12:17limitations that stand in the way
- 1:12:19between us and that divine intelligence.
- 1:12:22And when we do um it begins to make its
- 1:12:25way through us and we become more like
- 1:12:27it. We become more loving. It is a
- 1:12:29loving intelligence. We become more
- 1:12:31giving. It's a giver of life. We become
- 1:12:32more conscious. It's a consciousness. We
- 1:12:35become more mindful. It has an infinite
- 1:12:36mind. We become more willful. It has an
- 1:12:39amazing will. its nature uh becomes our
- 1:12:42nature. Its mind becomes our mind. And
- 1:12:44and then we don't have to try to be
- 1:12:47liked or try to be important or try to
- 1:12:49be recognized.
- 1:12:50>> We're just happy for no reason at all.
- 1:12:52And I and I think that is the natural
- 1:12:54state of being. And I think that we
- 1:12:56innately know that on some level.
- 1:12:59>> Great truth. Thank you.
- 1:13:00>> Good. Um, before I ask the final
- 1:13:02question, I want to acknowledge you for
- 1:13:03a moment, Joe, for constantly pushing
- 1:13:06the envelopes on what's possible and
- 1:13:08constantly learning and growing and
- 1:13:10researching so that you can continue to
- 1:13:13help so many people in the world
- 1:13:15overcome pain, overcome stress, overcome
- 1:13:17disease, anything that's holding us
- 1:13:19back. And I really acknowledge the work
- 1:13:22that you're doing because I think it's
- 1:13:24wakening so many people up to what they
- 1:13:26thought was possible and were limited to
- 1:13:29to now what is actually possible for
- 1:13:31them. So I acknowledge you for all that.
- 1:13:32>> Thank you. I'll link that in all the way
- 1:13:34and I appreciate it and uh love to have
- 1:13:36you come back on sometime in the future.
- 1:13:38Um but for now I think that's going to
- 1:13:40blow people's minds. I was extremely
- 1:13:43inspired by everything you said. Uh so
- 1:13:45the final question is what's your
- 1:13:47definition of greatness?
- 1:13:49>> [snorts]
- 1:13:49>> M to greatness. My definition of
- 1:13:51greatness is to be greater than your
- 1:13:52environment, to be greater than your
- 1:13:54body and to be greater than time. And if
- 1:13:56you do, you will be great. I mean that
- 1:13:59is it.
- 1:14:01>> Thank you, man. [music] Appreciate your
- 1:14:02mark. That was great.
- 1:14:03>> Many people are waiting for something in
- 1:14:06their life to change to take away the
- 1:14:08lack or the separation [music] of not
- 1:14:10having the life that they want. You work
- 1:14:12hard and you start accumulating
- 1:14:14abundance or wealth [music] and you
- 1:14:16start thinking, okay, I want the boat.
- 1:14:17When you get the boat and the experience
- 1:14:19produces an emotion that takes
