1. 0:00Hi, I'm Dr. Gyatri Mughi. I am a
2. 0:03pediatric dentist by training with subsp
3. 0:04specialty experience in cleft pallet
4. 0:07cranioacial anomalies and sleep
5. 0:09dentistry. So I have recently joined
6. 0:11this program titled the leadership and
7. 0:14business excellence specially curated
8. 0:16for dentist with some amount of work
9. 0:18experience. This has started in November
10. 0:202024 and it's a 4-month program. So the
11. 0:23reason why I joined this is dental
12. 0:25school teaches us a lot of dentistry but
13. 0:28nobody teaches us about the business
14. 0:30part of how you deal with uh patients on
15. 0:33a daily basis how you deal with the
16. 0:35employees the other professionals whom
17. 0:38you meet and how really to manage a
18. 0:41small practice 60% through this program
19. 0:44which is conducted on weekends and ISB
20. 0:47has been such a great platform because
21. 0:49we get to meet professionals in working
22. 0:52in diverse streams on a weekly basis
23. 0:54wherein we can discuss our ideas,
24. 0:56opinions and how to better our practice.
25. 0:59Now if taking myself as an example, I
26. 1:02believe I'm pretty good at the work that
27. 1:04I do but I'm extremely bad at marketing.
28. 1:07I would rather think in a more
29. 1:09traditional way that your work gets you
30. 1:11more work. But this is not something
31. 1:14that would work in the current
32. 1:16generation where digital marketing is
33. 1:18the norm. So branding your practice,
34. 1:22marketing yourself as a dental
35. 1:24professional and marketing your practice
36. 1:25is something that I've learned in the
37. 1:27early features of this program. And what
38. 1:30I hope to learn further is management of
39. 1:33employees which is mostly a human
40. 1:35resource related subject, finances,
41. 1:38mergers, acquisitions and other such
42. 1:41topics which would help deal with the
43. 1:43business of dentistry. So for those who
44. 1:46would be interested in learning all
45. 1:49these topics, I would highly encourage
46. 1:51you to consider pursuing this program
47. 1:54because this gives you an in-depth
48. 1:56insight into what all are the other
49. 1:59aspects of practice management that we
50. 2:00need to learn. So we have a cohort of
51. 2:03varied disciplines across this program
52. 2:06and I would encourage you to enroll for
53. 2:08this program if you would want to learn
54. 2:11more about the business aspects of
55. 2:14dentistry which involves finances,
56. 2:16management of human resources which are
57. 2:18our employees and junior professional
58. 2:21colleagues, mergers, acquisitions,
59. 2:24setting up new practices and the like.
60. 2:27So once we are through this program, I
61. 2:30expect a much better understanding of uh
62. 2:34how to deal with a small and
63. 2:37medium-sized business which would help
64. 2:39us grow in the profession. Since I work
65. 2:43with a varied group of highly trained
66. 2:45medical professionals, it was a huge
67. 2:47challenge for me to try and start a team
68. 2:50where egos do not matter. So a skill
69. 2:53matrix with different skill levels and
70. 2:56hiring uh the kind of people who would
71. 2:59work well in a team setup was a huge
72. 3:02challenge for me and this is what I've
73. 3:04picked up in the early stages of the
74. 3:06program where having a great team work
75. 3:11together would give a good value based
76. 3:13healthcare for the patient.
