- 0:00Straight black men are the cancer of the
- 0:03black community. Ladies, your issue is
- 0:05not a trans woman.
- 0:07>> Men are men and women are women, okay?
- 0:09>> And what's that mean? Your issue is not
- 0:11a punk or not a Your issue is all
- 0:15of our issue, straight black men.
- 0:23Straight black men are the enemy to the
- 0:25gays. Straight black men are the enemy
- 0:27to the trans. Straight black men are who
- 0:30are causing harm to the girls and the
- 0:32women. But, Tasha K, I want you to know
- 0:34this, and you can put this on record.
- 0:37The next time I publicly see you, I am
- 0:40going to walk up to you, and I'm going
- 0:42to slap the out of you. But, you'll
- 0:44never see a situation where girls and
- 0:47women walking around saying they're
- 0:48scared of the gay boys. And then, I'mma
- 0:50already just throw my set up and be
- 0:52ready to fight your husband. How is it
- 0:54we are raising boys with these
- 0:57fragile-ass egos that feel it is okay to
- 1:02slam girls on the head Black men are the
- 1:05cancer of the black community. The
- 1:07comment that I dropped was that I agree
- 1:11and reporting for duty. Are you going to
- 1:14be as emphatic in your condemnation of
- 1:16those particular hurtful cancerous
- 1:18comments as you were when you were
- 1:20reporting for duty? That's not even the
- 1:23crux of the conversation, but I want to
- 1:24get that out of the way so we can have
- 1:25the real conversation. Let let's also
- 1:28take into account for
- 1:30God's internet.
- 1:34Timing.
- 1:37These comments made by him
- 1:41are quite fresh.
- 1:44I didn't make my post with regard to
- 1:48what was said
- 1:50on the same day that he made his post.
- 1:53I often don't. There are often
- 1:56one or two days when something breaks
- 1:59before I actually post
- 2:02a response, a retort, a reaction.
- 2:06Um
- 2:09So, I want everyone to be quite clear
- 2:11about what timing is. Mhm.
- 2:15And again, I think it also speaks to
- 2:18what men do.
- 2:20A lot of people who lack manhood simply
- 2:24react
- 2:25Certainly. before they think
- 2:28Certainly.
- 2:28>> clear about creating a response.
- 2:33And so, when you hear a response from me
- 2:35A few moments later. there are things
- 2:39that
- 2:41my
- 2:42wife is incredibly capable of doing
- 2:46within the confines of our marriage and
- 2:48in our family.
- 2:502 hours later. Because black women are
- 2:53not black women are now the most
- 2:55educated demographic in the country. So,
- 2:57it stands to reason that some of us may
- 3:00find ourselves in a position where our
- 3:02woman is out earning us.
- 3:04So, wait a minute. Wait Wait a minute.
- 3:09How Wait, first of all, you're not going
- 3:10to speed past that like you didn't just
- 3:12say what you just said.
- 3:14Black women by and large are not the
- 3:15most educated group in America. They're
- 3:17the most enrolled group in America.
- 3:19They're also the group with the highest
- 3:20amount of student loan debt. But beside
- 3:22all of that Finish him. Words have
- 3:26impact. Every religious
- 3:28book talks about what you say has power.
- 3:33Regardless of meaning
- 3:35the words you speak mean absolutely
- 3:38everything. So, let's be grown.
- 3:41Do I think black men need to do better
- 3:43by and large? Absolutely. Some of us
- 3:45need therapy. Some of us need discipline
- 3:47as we talked about. Uh some of us need
- 3:50uh to take some accountability for the
- 3:52fact that we are out here like Nick
- 3:54Cannon with a bag of Viagra.
- 3:56Uh we got to take accountability for the
- 3:57promises we don't keep and the excuses
- 3:59that nobody asked for. I have always
- 4:02been an equal opportunity bold caller
- 4:05out.
- 4:06But what we don't get to do is take the
- 4:09failures of a very small group of black
- 4:11men and diagnose all black men as a
- 4:13disease in the words we choose to
- 4:15exercise. That's just intellectual um
- 4:20dishonesty. And that's the problem with
- 4:22keeping podcast mics at such a cheap
- 4:25rate. Hold up.
- 4:28Let him
- 4:30Uh
- 4:31black men
- 4:33are not anywhere near
- 4:36the cancer of our community. We did not
- 4:38create slavery, we did not create
- 4:39redlining, we didn't create mass
- 4:41incarceration, underfunded schools, the
- 4:43wage gap, bank deserts, food deserts. We
- 4:46did not create this media machine that
- 4:48uh keeps people like Andy Cohen and Lyor
- 4:51Cohen and Jimmy Iovine in the billions.
- 4:55Uh we did not create this narrative of
- 4:58us being monsters. So absolutely, I
- 5:00think we are not above accountability.
- 5:03But let's not make us the emotional
- 5:04landfill that everybody decides to build
- 5:07on even though we are the backbone of
- 5:09what built this country. And loving
- 5:11black women does not require hating
- 5:14black men or throwing black men under
- 5:16the bus because
- 5:18public humiliation of us is not a way
- 5:21that we heal our community.
- 5:23That's dysfunctional. There's too many
- 5:25of us who are broken, who need therapy.
- 5:27There are some of us who need
- 5:28correction. But what I don't want to get
- 5:32lost in this conversation is that there
- 5:35are a bunch of us who are dads. Good
- 5:37dads.
- 5:38Husbands, good husbands, workers,
- 5:40builders, protectors, mentors, coaches,
- 5:42pastors, professors, entrepreneurs,
- 5:45um people who get up every day with no
- 5:48credit, no applause, and they're
- 5:50literally holding their lives and the
- 5:52lives of the people in their charge with
- 5:54duct tape and overdraft protection. We
- 5:58ain't the cancer. A lot of us are the
- 5:59immune system. A lot of us are the scar
- 6:01tissue. A lot of us are the unpaid
- 6:02security, the unpaid Uber. A lot of us
- 6:04are the therapist. A lot of us are the
- 6:06last beam of the house holding it up
- 6:09while we're being criticized for why the
- 6:11house is leaning in the first place.
- 6:13So, I'm not going to report for duty
- 6:15respectfully under a lie. I'll report
- 6:17for duty to build. I'll report for duty
- 6:19to lead. I'll report for duty to correct
- 6:22men who are wrong. I will report for
- 6:23duty to protect women and children. I'll
- 6:25report to duty to rebuild families and
- 6:27confront broken systems. When we have
- 6:29people like David, when we have people
- 6:31like R Kelly, when we have people like
- 6:33Diddy, I condemn that situation
- 6:36immediately. But, I also condemn Clive
- 6:38Davis. I also condemn Lyor Cohen. I also
- 6:41condemn Andy Cohen, Scooter Braun, and
- 6:43everybody who is in charge of
- 6:44perpetuating this thug, gangster,
- 6:47nonsensical mythos of black men that
- 6:50becomes the standard as opposed to the
- 6:54exception while also elevating a soft,
- 6:58beta male, simp, mangina mentality that
- 7:00does not serve us when it comes to our
- 7:02communities and would not be tolerated
- 7:04in anybody else's community. I will not
- 7:06report for duty to slander black men for
- 7:08applause, clicks, clout, or likes. Not
- 7:11talking about Don Jr. cuz he's not doing
- 7:13that. But, for the general record, I
- 7:15want to make it abundantly clear. Yes,
- 7:17we're flawed. Yes, we're wounded. But,
- 7:19above all,
- 7:21whether you like it or not, whether you
- 7:23think we need to do better or not, we
- 7:25are necessary.
- 7:27We are not the cancer of the black
- 7:30community. By and large, we are a huge
- 7:33part of the cure. And I think it's time
- 7:35that everybody got themselves a dose.
- 7:38Got them.
- 7:39We got them.
