- 0:00Don't make this language learning
- 0:01mistake that I did. A couple years ago,
- 0:04I started learning Italian and had 1
- 0:07hour-long lesson every week. And every
- 0:10single week, it felt like I was starting
- 0:12over at the beginning of each lesson.
- 0:14And this is not because I had a bad
- 0:16teacher or I'm just not capable of
- 0:20learning Italian. Life just got in the
- 0:22way. I go to my lesson, feel motivated,
- 0:26and then get busy with work and
- 0:28everything else. And before I knew it,
- 0:30another had passed and I had not
- 0:34practiced at all. So, every lesson just
- 0:36felt like a refresher instead of making
- 0:39progress. So, I gave up. It was too
- 0:42expensive to keep going with little
- 0:44results and I lost motivation. But then,
- 0:48when I started my online community for
- 0:50English learners, I realized you won't
- 0:53learn a language just by setting aside
- 0:56an hour every week and that's it. You
- 0:59need to show up consistently. And it
- 1:02doesn't need to be an hour. 5, 10, 15,
- 1:0620 minutes a day, every day is far more
- 1:09effective than one long study session
- 1:13once a week. It keeps the language fresh
- 1:15in your brain. You continue to build on
- 1:18what you learned the day before and it
- 1:20doesn't get lost in all the other things
- 1:22you have going on in your day-to-day
- 1:24life. So, that's why I built my English
- 1:27community the way I did. It's to give
- 1:29you a place to practice your English a
- 1:31little every day so English becomes part
- 1:34of your routine. If you're curious
- 1:36whether it actually works, you can check
- 1:38out my website englishteacherclare.com
- 1:41and read what my students have to say.
- 1:43Don't just take my word for it. I hope
- 1:45to see you there.
