1. 0:00I made a wrong turn at my best friend's
2. 0:01[music] house and almost went into his
3. 0:03basement before his dad grabbed me by
4. 0:05the shoulders. If you go down into the
5. 0:06basement, I'll make sure you never make
6. 0:08it out. Understand me? I was so scared
7. 0:10that I almost screamed, but just nodded.
8. 0:12I went back to my best friend Ryan's
9. 0:14room and told him what happened. We must
10. 0:16follow dad's rules no matter what. His
11. 0:18voice [music] was monotone and inhuman,
12. 0:20and his face was totally blank. I got
13. 0:22freaked out, but then he went back to
14. 0:23playing his video games and acted
15. 0:25normal. Something was wrong with this
16. 0:26[music] house, and I knew the answer was
17. 0:28in the basement. That night, I waited
18. 0:30until I was sure everyone was asleep,
19. 0:31and I made my way to the basement. The
20. 0:33door was left open, and I could see a
21. 0:35glowing light coming from it. [music] I
22. 0:37was about to head down when I heard a
23. 0:38bunch of doors in the house open at
24. 0:40once. I hid under the kitchen table and
25. 0:42watched as Ryan, his mom, [music] and
26. 0:44his younger sister marched in perfect
27. 0:46unison down the basement stairs.
28. 0:48Confused at what was going on, I
29. 0:49followed them downstairs and couldn't
30. 0:51believe what I saw. [music] All three of
31. 0:53them were plugged into a machine like
32. 0:54they were being charged. My best
33. 0:56friend's dad typed code [music] into a
34. 0:58computer. Just a few more tweaks and
35. 0:59I'll have the perfect family. I was
36. 1:01about to sneak back up the stairs, but
37. 1:03suddenly the lights flashed and a
38. 1:04[music] bright red intruder alert light
39. 1:06sounded. I tried to run away, but Ryan's
40. 1:08dad used his computer to lock the door.
41. 1:10I told you what would happen if you went
42. 1:12into the basement. [music] Ryan's dad
43. 1:13tried to grab me, but I dodged and ran
44. 1:15up to his computer. I started to
45. 1:17randomly pound buttons. My best friend's
46. 1:19dad freaked out as Ryan, his mom, and
47. 1:21sister's robotic counterparts exploded
48. 1:23and revealed a secret room. Ryan and the
49. 1:25rest of his family had been locked
50. 1:27inside. All of us ran back to the
51. 1:29basement door and broke it down with all
52. 1:30of our might. As we ran out of the
53. 1:32basement, [music] Ryan's dad screamed,
54. 1:34"I just wanted the perfect family." We
55. 1:36ran out of the house as it exploded
56. 1:37behind us. Ryan, his mother, and his
