  2. 0:14the book this is a book called
  3. 0:21understanding social problems and it was
  4. 0:25him we had one of our women's race guys
  5. 0:28on the East Coast he was taking college
  6. 0:30class and he got really upset
  7. 0:32this was the textbook and he wanted us
  8. 0:35to do something about it okay we'll take
  9. 0:37on an educational system next week right
  10. 0:40anyway so I ordered up the book okay
  11. 0:43let's see what he's talking about very
  12. 0:46interesting stuff so this is I'm not
  13. 0:49sure if it's a social studies class or
  14. 0:51an anthropology anthropology class but
  15. 0:53something like that okay understanding
  16. 0:55social problems and it's interesting
  17. 0:58they have a section in here in domestic
  18. 1:00violence and it'll partner violence and
  19. 1:01abuse and it's one of our issues hotspot
  20. 1:04issues and so let's just go through a
  21. 1:07few things okay there's globally one
  22. 1:10woman in every three has been subjected
  23. 1:11to violence at an apartment in intimate
  24. 1:14relationship from the United Nations
  25. 1:16Development Program mm well one in three
  26. 1:22that means that every two girlfriends
  27. 1:25you know you know when that's been
  28. 1:26abused right I don't you don't and maybe
  29. 1:32they don't talk about it what a surprise
  30. 1:34hmm actually it probably didn't happen
  31. 1:38just like it didn't happen one in six
  32. 1:40men they're abused it they expand the
  33. 1:43definition
  34. 1:43hmm well they don't talk about here is
  35. 1:47what's the definition of abuse mm-hmm so
  36. 1:50but it leaves you with the impression
  37. 1:51what's your impression like somebody got
  38. 1:54beat up right mm-hmm badly made me put
  39. 1:56in the hospital maybe perhaps right
  40. 1:58mm-hmm well talk about well maybe the
  41. 2:00definition of abuse includes though
  42. 2:03being screamed at ones
  43. 2:07love you I'm Glenn and scream at men
  44. 2:11okay but it's not discussed was the
  45. 2:14impression leaves correct okay in the
  46. 2:17United States most acts of intimate
  47. 2:18partner violence parenthesis 85 percent
  48. 2:21of committed against women what what any
  49. 2:24five percent a committee this books 2011
  50. 2:27how can that be how can it possibly be
  51. 2:31that this is in this book when that has
  52. 2:33been disproven more times than I've
  53. 2:35climbed those steps going out to the
  54. 2:38parking lot how can this be when the
  55. 2:42evidence is so easy to find how can this
  56. 2:45be when dr. Martin fever district
  57. 2:49compiled the bibliography the biggest
  58. 2:51bibliography in the world of scientific
  59. 2:53research about abused men which shows
  60. 2:55this is not true how can this possibly
  61. 2:57be when there's no evidence based that
  62. 3:01on the internet available to everybody
  63. 3:04project by John Hummel and some the
  64. 3:06leading researchers in the entire world
  65. 3:08on domestic violence has compiled the
  66. 3:10biggest composite research on DV
  67. 3:13anywhere on the planet which shows this
  68. 3:15is not even close to being true how can
  69. 3:17it be this is in a book 2011 how can it
  70. 3:22be so what's the motivation however 23%
  71. 3:28of men have experienced physical sexual
  72. 3:30or psychological interpersonal
  73. 3:32interpersonal violence compared the 21
  74. 3:359% it was women excuse me where'd that
  75. 3:40come from
  76. 3:40I've never even heard that number
  77. 3:42anywhere mm-hmm I mean I'm on the DV
  78. 3:45council I mean I've been doing this
  79. 3:46stuff for a long time I've never heard
  80. 3:47this anywhere where'd it come from comes
  81. 3:50from National Center in injury
  82. 3:51prevention and control 2006 Wow
  83. 3:54do you realize if you went to the CDC
  84. 3:56this is very interesting I can remember
  85. 3:57in terms of this book to a few years ago
  86. 4:01I wish I could find this yes I got some
  87. 4:03email and it was one of the like the
  88. 4:05famous majority or something list and
  89. 4:08when women said we have to get control
  90. 4:10the CDC we have to get control of CDC
  91. 4:12and of course I just passed the flaked
  92. 4:15it out didn't thinking
  93. 4:16Adame what it was and I haven't been
  94. 4:19able to find the email but if you went
  95. 4:21the CDC website three years ago you will
  96. 4:24find charts that show about who commits
  97. 4:28most of child abuse and it's you guys
  98. 4:30not us really well we're not even close
  99. 4:33mothers what makes sense if you think
  100. 4:36about it you know then we've got
  101. 4:38fatherless homes and just make sense
  102. 4:40right but the safest place for kids are
  103. 4:43in a home with their biological father
  104. 4:44that's the safest place for a kid
  105. 4:46also safest place for the mother
  106. 4:49although the feminist bill would have II
  107. 4:51believe it's the most dangerous place
  108. 4:53men were football Sunday mmm you've
  109. 4:55heard that one most dangerous place to
  110. 4:57be is a woman in their own home on foot
  111. 5:01bolts on Super Bowl Sunday
  112. 5:02that was a Sheila Kuehl myth it's been
  113. 5:04dispelled by christina hoff sommers and
  114. 5:06every times why it's just lies one well
  115. 5:09one lie after another one missing said
  116. 5:11when the exaggeration after night when
  117. 5:14women saw their male partners these
  118. 5:16assaults tend to be actor retaliation of
  119. 5:18source of stuff to fit what self-defense
  120. 5:22that's been disproven so many times like
  121. 5:24that once again the stair analogy i mean
  122. 5:26it's that's absolute garbage absolute
  123. 5:30garbage well most women get seriously
  124. 5:33injured in domestic violence situations
  125. 5:34when they attack the mail first hmm
  126. 5:38fact okay that's just keeps going on and
  127. 5:43on and on through the whole book okay or
  128. 5:45through this whole section now
  129. 5:47understand that this is for young
  130. 5:49college kids so this is what we're
  131. 5:52teaching them in school and why would
  132. 5:54you have any reason to disbelieve your
  133. 5:56instructor right okay I figured this was
  134. 5:59gonna happen I read this I didn't have a
  135. 6:00big problem with it but then I got over
  136. 6:02here and this was kind of interesting
  137. 6:05the effects of intimate partner violence
  138. 6:08and abuse each year in the partner
  139. 6:10violence results of about 2 million
  140. 6:11injuries and 1,300 death nationwide
  141. 6:14really how come we're not talking about
  142. 6:18men and women anywhere we're just
  143. 6:21talking about death more than 3/4 of the
  144. 6:23murder victims killed by the inner
  145. 6:24partner are women hmm
  146. 6:27how many is that by the way I gotta tell
  147. 6:29you that very many matter of fact in our
  148. 6:33society with three hundred and thirty
  149. 6:34seven million people in United States of
  150. 6:36America there's only about 1400 violent
  151. 6:38deaths criminal violent deaths of women
  152. 6:41a year hmm for all reasons horrible but
  153. 6:47not significantly huge right so this
  154. 6:52goes on and on and on and then what gets
  155. 6:54down here battering also interferes with
  156. 6:56women's employment Wow doesn't interfere
  157. 6:58with men's employment right I mean if
  158. 7:02you were a battered man do you think you
  159. 7:04would you go to work every day and they
  160. 7:07makes fine it's no problem coming home
  161. 7:09some abusers prohibit their partners
  162. 7:11from work really yeah that's true other
  163. 7:13abuse deliberately undermine women's
  164. 7:16employment by depriving them of
  165. 7:17transport just women just women I guess
  166. 7:21that never happens to a guy harassing
  167. 7:23that guy never gets harassed at work
  168. 7:25turning off alarm call that serious
  169. 7:27turning off a wall clocks making them
  170. 7:29late meeting them before a job interview
  171. 7:30but only women their happiness to a guy
  172. 7:39most people would not even pick this up
  173. 7:42I see the significance I think somebody
  174. 7:48mentioned the word brainwashing early on
  175. 7:51how subtle can it get so then I say
  176. 7:56what's the motivation who are the
  177. 7:59editors of this book who had to approve
  178. 8:03these passages wouldn't that make an
  179. 8:08interesting film I don't have a clue I
  180. 8:13really don't have a clue but certainly
  181. 8:16somebody controlled this text it is
  182. 8:21written it is written as if it were
  183. 8:24written by a radical feminist or
  184. 8:27somebody on the San Diego domestic
  185. 8:29violence council perhaps you know
  186. 8:31there's no difference in this whole
  187. 8:32passage really toward men as if they'd
  188. 8:34simply don't count
  189. 8:36I usually when a passage in here it
  190. 8:39talks
  191. 8:40how about there are shelters for women
  192. 8:43and children nah man that's accurate
  193. 8:51yeah doesn't make any sense to you guys
  194. 8:54thank you it does that you understand
  195. 8:56this to wait at me you have to
  196. 8:58understand though that you know I've
  197. 9:00grown up with the feminist ideology in
  198. 9:03all my books yeah and I am just the
  199. 9:06point and I'm a woman and the largest
  200. 9:10group of feminists are women my age it's
  201. 9:13a growing movement because of the young
  202. 9:15women's movement oh that's interesting
  203. 9:17when any you know majority isn't in
  204. 9:20younger generations it's a growing
  205. 9:22movement so it's very difficult for me
  206. 9:26to wrap my brain around this because you
  207. 9:29know that's the book book I would be
  208. 9:31ready
  209. 9:31exactly so just give me a second cuz I'm
  210. 9:37overwhelmed with how much information
  211. 9:39you just kick I mean I would if I were
  212. 9:41you I'd be so pissed about being lied to
  213. 9:43I would be so angry I couldn't even like
  214. 9:46that would be totally beside myself you
  215. 9:49know and I don't want my children my
  216. 9:51grandchildren to learn this crap because
  217. 9:54that's exactly what it is and
  218. 9:57unfortunately it comes from well-meaning
  219. 9:58people you know I can remember a couple
  220. 10:01of times standing over a domestic
  221. 10:02violence counselor I used to go wearing
  222. 10:04my t-shirts a feminist lies make bad
  223. 10:06laws it man they'd look at me like oh my
  224. 10:08god you're hairy again oh my god you
  225. 10:11know I'd wear this when prosecute false
  226. 10:13accusers there we had a situation when
  227. 10:16they first opened up the Family Justice
  228. 10:17Center they had a 40-hour volunteer
  229. 10:19training that was gonna go volunteer
  230. 10:20right yeah I'm pretty good at working
  231. 10:22with people I've interviewed thousands
  232. 10:23I've only not help them and so I'd wear
  233. 10:26my t-shirts
  234. 10:27Gail's Trek came in you know she's
  235. 10:29teaches one of the law schools and she
  236. 10:31was a big mucky-muck in a TV world TV
  237. 10:32industry one day she comes through with
  238. 10:35a group of judges from Czechoslovakia
  239. 10:39all women except one guy and there's
  240. 10:44like 12 us in this training she herds
  241. 10:46them all in to show him the new Family
  242. 10:47Justice that was beautiful facility
  243. 10:50she goes around the world room
  244. 10:52introducing everybody and every time she
  245. 10:53gets to me she skips me
  246. 10:56and she finally gets it she can't go
  247. 10:59anywhere I'm the last guy and so she's
  248. 11:01gonna saying this is this is this is
  249. 11:05this is Harry Crouch he's what he's with
  250. 11:10this national he's a men's rights
  251. 11:12advocate and she can barely get it out
  252. 11:15and all of a sudden from the middle is
  253. 11:18group this guy stands up on his tippy
  254. 11:21toes in his arm shoes like this is the
  255. 11:24Pete's and he goes right Jess
  256. 11:28yes the room just cracked out the point
  257. 11:32I'm trying to make here I went to lunch
  258. 11:35with the women because they knew they
  259. 11:39knew women could be abusive all by
  260. 11:42themselves if I went to lunch for the
  261. 11:45guys I was shunned why is it with you
  262. 11:51Harry
  263. 11:52bad-mouthing women you know women aren't
  264. 11:55violent us you need to accept that
  265. 11:58excuse me that's what they wants you to
  266. 12:03believe in nothing they wants you to
  267. 12:04believe it I think some of its inherent
  268. 12:06in the way we're raised you know don't
  269. 12:09hit your sister well that makes sense
  270. 12:12but if Johnny gets out line you just
  271. 12:15kicked the crap out that doesn't make
  272. 12:16sense you know they're gonna teach
  273. 12:21non-violence you I teach non-violence to
  274. 12:23both it's not gender-specific
  275. 12:25you don't make up lies you don't need to
  276. 12:29blame one party or another you just need
  277. 12:31to say violence inappropriate you know
  278. 12:37whoever hits whoever is gonna there's
  279. 12:39gonna be a consequence stay California
  280. 12:44you may understand you may remember that
  281. 12:46we've had some difficulty with our
  282. 12:48correctional institution isn't
  283. 12:49overcrowding mm-hmm matter of fact we
  284. 12:52were put under federal oversight right
  285. 12:54and we were ordered to reduce the
  286. 12:56population of our prison so what's the
  287. 12:58first thing we did do you remember
  288. 13:02kind of more lenient on women we opened
  289. 13:05the doors to Prettyman in prison and we
  290. 13:09let women out of prison my men but we
  291. 13:11let women out of prison some of whom had
  292. 13:13done exactly what men had done and
  293. 13:14weren't prison for now why would we do
  294. 13:17that do you know that England as we
  295. 13:21speak right now there's legislation
  296. 13:23that's being pushed over there to
  297. 13:25completely do away with women and our
  298. 13:27print female prisons because they're
  299. 13:30figuring out a way to excuse all
  300. 13:32aberrant behavior in women excuse me
  301. 13:40does her need for am is rice movement I
  302. 13:43don't know you tell me does that make
  303. 13:45sense
  304. 13:46it doesn't make any sense to me why
  305. 13:48would you do that does it make any sense
  306. 13:50to in Alaska we call this Barnard
  307. 13:53divorce if you got caught in bed with
  308. 13:55somebody else a shotgun was nearby and
  309. 13:57took care of the deal everybody in town
  310. 13:59kind of understood that okay let's get
  311. 14:01on with it you know nowadays the whole
  312. 14:04the way it is you know we've got the
  313. 14:06battered spouse syndrome thirteen abuse
  314. 14:09excuses for women in court none for men
  315. 14:11the battered spouse in court the
  316. 14:14battered skip to the spouse abuse well I
  317. 14:16I didn't mean to shoot him 67 times but
  318. 14:20my finger got stuck on the trigger when
  319. 14:22he was sleeping you know that's because
  320. 14:24I've been abused for all these years
  321. 14:26okay now let's not be facetious about it
  322. 14:29is there a real dynamic where somebody
  323. 14:31can be abused seriously abused and get
  324. 14:33caught up in the dynamic and not leave
  325. 14:35absolutely absolutely
  326. 14:38it's a nightmare absolute freakin
  327. 14:40nightmare okay but should that be some
  328. 14:43justification for murdering somebody
  329. 14:46sure
  330. 14:50everyone really I mean if they really
  331. 14:54can't leave and they feel like that's
  332. 14:55our only way out yeah okay what if we're
  333. 14:58gonna die
  334. 14:59what if roles are reversed I think the
  335. 15:02same I mean what makes sense wouldn't it
  336. 15:04if they're if they think they're
  337. 15:07protecting their life I have any Colvin
  338. 15:10genderless you know do you remember the
  339. 15:13Rihanna's situation how she was abused
  340. 15:17by James brat got beat Bobby we got beat
  341. 15:21up in the car man that was fascinating
  342. 15:24they were truly fascinating and I'm not
  343. 15:27saying this guy's a saint you know he's
  344. 15:29driving a car and she's kicking the crap
  345. 15:31out of him that's what went down that's
  346. 15:34what it was rude initially reported in
  347. 15:35the news and he slugged her he lost it
  348. 15:38in Peter up within 24 hours
  349. 15:42man that woman's the famous machine it
  350. 15:45just came together and wrapped its arms
  351. 15:50around Rihanna and said man do we have
  352. 15:53an opportunity here and they fired up
  353. 15:57Oprah Winfrey and everybody else and off
  354. 16:00to the red off to the races we went it's
  355. 16:18unconscionable what's interesting
  356. 16:22and the subtlety of discrimination if
  357. 16:26you will you'll have women in a lot of
  358. 16:31the reality shows you know or on TV
  359. 16:34shows so stuff that gets perpetuated
  360. 16:38we're a little laugh about what Elena
  361. 16:41bought each other that's right I ever
  362. 16:43found my husband and you know with
  363. 16:45another woman I cut off his being in
  364. 16:47everyone jokes about haha sure and there
  365. 16:50isn't any public outrage when this joke
  366. 16:55keeps being perpetuated so if we reverse
  367. 16:59it and say a man cut off his wife's
  368. 17:02breasts or terrific it's horrific it
  369. 17:06sliced her you know down there and stuff
  370. 17:08and then it's it's an ongoing joke in
  371. 17:12our media and pop culture even if you've
  372. 17:18been abused for years and years and
  373. 17:21we're not outraged because that's what
  374. 17:26they teach you
  375. 17:27I don't teaching me outraged about
  376. 17:31injustice anywhere unless the injustice
  377. 17:34is gender specific
  378. 17:35I think that's outrageous you know i
  379. 17:42I've literally worked with thousands of
  380. 17:44felons
  381. 17:45I mean I've interviewed thousands of
  382. 17:46them I have interviewed baby bouncers
  383. 17:49acid throwers murderers muggers serial
  384. 17:51killers bank robbers you name it I've
  385. 17:53been in a Cell with him and I've talked
  386. 17:54to him right there are some horrible
  387. 17:58people out there but bang I mean
  388. 18:01injustice injustice you pay the price
  389. 18:03for whatever your behavior should be and
  390. 18:05I shouldn't be gender specific I murders
  391. 18:07and murder as a murder thought the
  392. 18:09mitigating circumstance yeah that's why
  393. 18:12they're called mitigating circumstances
  394. 18:14but they shouldn't be gender specific
  395. 18:16either should not be thirteen abuse
  396. 18:18excuses for women and unforgotten says
  397. 18:20absurd is crazy most recent study out of
  398. 18:25Harvard shows that seventy percent of
  399. 18:26domestic violence one on one is
  400. 18:29perpetrated by you guys not us and the
  401. 18:33more we learn about intimate partner
  402. 18:35violence
  403. 18:35the more that becomes clear in in dating
  404. 18:39violence on college campuses man we're
  405. 18:42not even close
  406. 18:43how do you define violence ah well once
  407. 18:48again it's the definition isn't it so
  408. 18:51whatever definition they want to use we
  409. 18:53got some pamphlets out here you're
  410. 18:54welcome to take a look at that stuff
  411. 18:55there's a guy in the East Coast that's a
  412. 18:57really good work
  413. 18:57Richard remember the names he's retired
  414. 19:01police lieutenant written a couple books
  415. 19:03teaches about domestic violence on a
  416. 19:05couple colleges I think of his name
  417. 19:08you're really a great guy and he started
  418. 19:11looking at instance of interpersonal and
  419. 19:15personal violence between students on
  420. 19:18college campuses he started discovering
  421. 19:21some of these things to the point being
  422. 19:24a lot of what we believe a lot of what
  423. 19:25we taught our taught isn't what really
  424. 19:27is and so some of the things that are
  425. 19:31being taught oh like the CDC I didn't
  426. 19:33finish something with a CDC so three
  427. 19:35years ago if you were ago the CDC
  428. 19:37website he could find charts and would
  429. 19:38show this it would show how abusive
  430. 19:40mothers were in stepdads and biological
  431. 19:43fathers and who did what to whom how
  432. 19:45many times no more the charts are gone
  433. 19:49now you go to CDC and looking they're
  434. 19:52all gender inclusive they don't talk
  435. 19:54about who does what the most huh
  436. 19:58it's just parents or non-biological
  437. 20:00parent sir and why is that
  438. 20:02who's that control the White House we've
  439. 20:05got the White House Council on women and
  440. 20:06girls in who they have lateral Authority
  441. 20:10in each department the United States
  442. 20:11government including the CDC and that
  443. 20:14thought process this thought process is
  444. 20:19now being institutionalized top-down and
  445. 20:24anything that suggests women should be
  446. 20:26responsible for their own actions is
  447. 20:28simply disappearing and it what's
  448. 20:30increasing is making things that make it
  449. 20:33easier to vilify criminalize mend
  450. 20:37hence the Department of Education order
  451. 20:42to college campuses
  452. 20:44I was okay I have a hard time of
  453. 20:49statistics because you didn't find
  454. 20:52statistics on either side to support you
  455. 20:55know and granted who knows if they're
  456. 20:57made up statistics are true studies but
  457. 21:00you can find statistics to support
  458. 21:02either side and that's what you know the
  459. 21:04feminists are using oh we're going to
  460. 21:06use the one in four women are sexually
  461. 21:08assaulted in their lifetime and so this
  462. 21:10is what we're Mystik with the answer is
  463. 21:11easy what's that
  464. 21:13the answer is easy that that comes from
  465. 21:16a study conducted by whom miss magazine
  466. 21:18ms ms period magazine commissioned that
  467. 21:22study well I I started googling to find
  468. 21:27out what statistics I could find and and
  469. 21:30I feel like correct me if I'm wrong I
  470. 21:32feel like the CDC is really the most
  471. 21:34reputable statistics you can find do you
  472. 21:37think you think and just like a couple
  473. 21:40days ago I looked up semester violence
  474. 21:43on the CDC and it said eighty-three
  475. 21:45percent women and the rest men are
  476. 21:49victims of domestic well then if you
  477. 21:50have to question that because there's so
  478. 21:54much country I just try to explain that
  479. 21:56they got control the CDC the CDC's to be
  480. 22:01extraordinary reputable organization you
  481. 22:05could Bank by it we used to use their
  482. 22:08numbers I don't use them anymore there
  483. 22:12are other authorities you can go to
  484. 22:15study after study after study
  485. 22:17hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of
  486. 22:19not just one or two hundreds and
  487. 22:21hundreds and her
  488. 22:22it's easy Martin fever look up Martin
  489. 22:25fever domestic violence mom you should
  490. 22:27go interview the guys right up there in
  491. 22:29Cal State Long Beach
  492. 22:31it wasn't CNM right no he's a
  493. 22:35common-sense guy he's a political
  494. 22:36science professor who maintains the
  495. 22:39largest bibliography research on abused
  496. 22:41me in on the planning thanks guy
  497. 22:46just like that so what do you do I still
  498. 22:50feel like because his he focuses on
  499. 22:52men's issues so isn't that the
  500. 22:54equivalent of a news magazine doing a
  501. 22:56study there's a big difference between
  502. 22:58an unscientific one unscientific study
  503. 23:02from MS magazine in almost 2,500
  504. 23:07academic papers and research studies
  505. 23:09from social scientists there's a big
  506. 23:12difference and if you were to put them
  507. 23:14on a scale which way which way do you
  508. 23:16think that scale would wait and when you
  509. 23:19put a study from MS magazine well they
  510. 23:22probably had scientists doing this
  511. 23:24actually I didn't go back and look at
  512. 23:25Teresa they did it they just it's how
  513. 23:27they put the questions together do you
  514. 23:29realize a lot of the women in that study
  515. 23:30who said they had been raped went back
  516. 23:32to live either date the man that
  517. 23:34supposedly raped them and a lot of a by
  518. 23:37their own admission didn't even know was
  519. 23:38rape hmm I mean read the history on this
  520. 23:42that's ridiculous it's not it's just
  521. 23:44ridiculous and this is yeah this is what
  522. 23:48they do over and over and over and over
  523. 23:50again first they try to identify a
  524. 23:54problem and one doesn't exist they
  525. 23:55create it okay now we create it we have
  526. 23:58to substantiate it so the work what
  527. 24:00we're gonna do is we're going to cause a
  528. 24:02controversial study to take place and
  529. 24:04we're the ones are gonna conduct it and
  530. 24:07we have predefined outcomes we're really
  531. 24:09not interested the truth what we want to
  532. 24:10do is substantiate our position and once
  533. 24:13we've substantiate our position we'll
  534. 24:15bring in the media and we'll sell it to
  535. 24:17the media and the media will take it out
  536. 24:19the public and make people believe it to
  537. 24:21be true
  538. 24:24over and over and you can find the
  539. 24:29methodology in rules for radicals which
  540. 24:33is a guidebook that these people some of
  541. 24:37them use you can see it's written down
  542. 24:39there so here's how you do it boom boom
  543. 24:42boom boom I could do is open the page
  544. 24:45and go down and read their read them
  545. 24:49take what you want in my book case it's
  546. 24:51nothing you know though they'll tell you
  547. 24:54if they don't keep it a secret
  548. 24:58they just know most of us are stupid
  549. 25:03yeah
  550. 25:05the mass majority just eats up whatever
  551. 25:07mainstream media it's awesome most of us
  552. 25:10are good people we have things to do we
  553. 25:14want to play baseball you know I want to
  554. 25:17take my daughter to the dance I want to
  555. 25:20make sure I get that second job paycheck
  556. 25:24from there I again do a little something
  557. 25:26extra for the family we got to fix that
  558. 25:28four wheel when we go the Ripper got put
  559. 25:31some food on the table I don't have time
  560. 25:33for this crap
  561. 25:34I don't know what you're talking about I
  562. 25:35don't care what you're talking about
  563. 25:38doesn't doesn't impact me but when it
  564. 25:42does what does I can tell you why you
  565. 25:46guys are here and I can tell you I don't
  566. 25:50think you mean no I'll tell you why
  567. 25:52you're here is because this stuff we're
  568. 25:54talking about now has touched adversely
  569. 25:58touched in one way or another everybody
  570. 26:01in this country everybody and maybe
  571. 26:05didn't come up and bite you directly on
  572. 26:07his arm but maybe it's a neighbor or a
  573. 26:10friend or relative somebody you know
  574. 26:15sudden you looked at there's something
  575. 26:17right here something right here just
  576. 26:20that dunce doesn't pass the smell test
  577. 26:23anymore
  578. 26:24right for the longest period of time
  579. 26:27before it adversely impacted everybody
  580. 26:29directly or indirectly they got away
  581. 26:32with a lot and I've been hesitant not to
  582. 26:36go somewhere I still try not to go there
  583. 26:41go there it's all too controversial
  584. 26:46well I'm Madison I'm not a historian I'm
  585. 26:50I'm a political scientist I
  586. 26:54really don't want to go there I mean
  587. 26:56there's other motivations for this
  588. 26:57movement
  589. 26:58aside from enlightenment and oppression
  590. 27:03do you feel oppressed it's hard to say
  591. 27:08really
  592. 27:09Wow do you feel oppressed no you shut
  593. 27:16that door okay
  594. 27:17has anybody ever applied for a job and
  595. 27:21said you're not being hired for your
  596. 27:22woman or when I grew up most my bosses
  597. 27:28were female I think everyone has their
  598. 27:33own experiences probably so right and
  599. 27:35that's why personally for me it's hard
  600. 27:39to understand the men's movement because
  601. 27:40I haven't walked in your noses shoes
  602. 27:43well like I said not sure about the MS
  603. 27:45movement part but unfortunately there's
  604. 27:49just so much misinformation going back
  605. 27:50and forth yeah I was bringing back
  606. 27:52what's the motivation you know if you
  607. 27:55come back and say what's the motivation
  608. 27:56you can't find an altruistic reason for
  609. 27:58you can't find truth I think we're in
  610. 28:02trouble because then there's something
  611. 28:03else something sinister is afoot and
  612. 28:07then you have to ask what is that why is
  613. 28:09it and how do we fix that because it's
  614. 28:11like you know I'll write a route to a
  615. 28:13plant pretty soon it's gonna kill
  616. 28:15something and you really have to kind of
  617. 28:17dig it out root it out I don't care
  618. 28:20whether it's a man being a jerk or a
  619. 28:22woman being a jerk is inconsequential to
  620. 28:24me okay we have to stop stop the jerk
  621. 28:28yet so that's what we have to stop okay
  622. 28:30so if you want but labels I don't put
  623. 28:32labels on it I don't think labels
  624. 28:34particularly help myself matter of fact
  625. 28:37I think labels detract from solutions
  626. 28:41because then it becomes shame blame and
  627. 28:43guilt where do those concepts come from
  628. 28:45Duluth power and control will you guys
  629. 28:47know about that mm-hmm I gave you a copy
  630. 28:50no in 1977 I think about you crazy women
  631. 28:53up in Duluth Minnesota figured out their
  632. 28:55the solution to domestic violence and it
  633. 28:57was all about patriarchy and all about
  634. 29:00men
  635. 29:01and it's a Bluth power of a drill
  636. 29:03because men are all about power and
  637. 29:06control of course not you ladies you
  638. 29:09guys you don't control anything you have
  639. 29:11no power
  640. 29:12you're just sweet and innocent all
  641. 29:13things okay so on this power no control
  642. 29:17wheels divided up and all these things
  643. 29:18you know about who does this and who
  644. 29:20does that blah blah blah of course it's
  645. 29:22all men tambien the entire domestic
  646. 29:27violence industry was founded on that I
  647. 29:29think it's still 37 or 32 states the
  648. 29:31United States that by law they have to
  649. 29:33use the Duluth model for batterer
  650. 29:35intervention programs and it's all shame
  651. 29:37blaming guilt driven if you're a man and
  652. 29:40you walk in you must admit you did it
  653. 29:42upfront or you're in denial there's no
  654. 29:44debate there's no discussion there's no
  655. 29:45possibility that you could be falsely
  656. 29:47accused the criminal justice system
  657. 29:49could have made a mistake
  658. 29:50none whatsoever you are in a state you
  659. 29:52know I'll and you will complete that
  660. 29:54course right when I go to jail you will
  661. 29:58be re-engineered frightening yes I think
  662. 30:05it's terrifying absolutely terrifying
  663. 30:12that we allow such stuff to happen in
  664. 30:15this country I thought that was Russia
  665. 30:19maybe I've got him confused how can you
  666. 30:24do that oh and this happens before
  667. 30:26there's been any criminal charges whoa
  668. 30:28huh yeah I mean there's oh they're not
  669. 30:32gonna be any file probably I mean that's
  670. 30:34actually coming from a silikal Family
  671. 30:36Court not Criminal Court they can they
  672. 30:37can do that Wow do they have these same
  673. 30:42programs for women
  674. 30:43oh they don't how's that possible we
  675. 30:49don't need to rename reengineer women
  676. 30:51free I guess all you guys are just
  677. 30:53perfect mothers and I never have issues
  678. 30:56and it's just uh it's just us guys it's
  679. 31:01just us guys so book up here written by
  680. 31:05a mr. Geffner who i think president of
  681. 31:10the lion university violinist blah blah
  682. 31:14blah graduate program whatever the hell
  683. 31:15it is nice guy nice guy
  684. 31:19yeah so he caught authored this book
  685. 31:22about a batterer intervention programs
  686. 31:24for women
  687. 31:24oh the recognition that there might be
  688. 31:26an abusive woman holy moly moly
  689. 31:29and you read the introduction and how
  690. 31:32does it start out laymen men
  691. 31:34unbelievable if the program is for men
  692. 31:39it starts out laymen men with the
  693. 31:41programs for women his starts out laymen
  694. 31:42meant excuse me what I do you know I
  695. 31:49don't know about Danielle but I didn't
  696. 31:51do it I don't know where you came in I
  697. 31:53didn't do it you know I'm trying to help
  698. 31:55people not be violent how is that
  699. 31:58constructive how is that yeah I was a
  700. 32:01constructive until that one whole gender
  701. 32:03escape routes responsibility for the
  702. 32:05actions by blaming them on somebody else
  703. 32:07and yet you look at the other gender and
  704. 32:10say you're responsible for everything
  705. 32:12and you need to accept responsibility
  706. 32:13for it even if you didn't do it I'm
  707. 32:17sorry but if that's what it takes town
  708. 32:19men's rights movement maybe we need one
  709. 32:21because that's just so nonsensically
  710. 32:24crazies
  711. 32:25for me it doesn't compute and we have a
  712. 32:28whole industry out there do you you
  713. 32:31rising years and years ago there was
  714. 32:34Susan Steinmetz
  715. 32:36was the first a woman first academic to
  716. 32:43come out with a scientific paper I
  717. 32:46showed this is suggested that perhaps
  718. 32:49more women abused men then verse event
  719. 32:52horizon hello man do you think she was I
  720. 32:55had to go to the Salem witch trials I
  721. 32:59mean the academics burned her at the
  722. 33:01stake
  723. 33:03they made bomb threats against her tried
  724. 33:06to get her thrown out of the university
  725. 33:07tried to get her tenure denied she
  726. 33:10actually left academia for a few years
  727. 33:12until she came back in and joined the
  728. 33:14national study the first national study
  729. 33:16on the other partner of violence every
  730. 33:17conduct and all three of those
  731. 33:19researchers were threatened with death
  732. 33:23threats
  733. 33:26there are even meetings when they were
  734. 33:28making presentations and other social
  735. 33:30sciences stood up and said there's no
  736. 33:31such thing as an abusive woman what and
  737. 33:36what planet did you follow up if I can
  738. 33:38stores the spaceship let's find it and
  739. 33:40round them all back up shut the door
  740. 33:42put some dynamite under it off into
  741. 33:45space they go how can people with PhDs
  742. 33:49possibly take that position it's the
  743. 33:51most asinine on his face it's absolutely
  744. 33:55ridiculous no calm no person who thinks
  745. 34:01objectively to any degree whatsoever
  746. 34:04could possibly arrive at that conclusion
  747. 34:10you tell me why don't we need a minister
  748. 34:12a moment I like this one well you're
  749. 34:16just trying to take away all the gains
  750. 34:18made back what I'm trying to taking it
  751. 34:22where the gains made by what you think I
  752. 34:24can do that I mean do I have that power
  753. 34:27really I don't think so and why would I

  762. 34:53be a person be human let me be a person
  763. 34:56let me be let's get along you know I
  764. 35:00mean who the hell do you think you are
  765. 35:02'ln I'm supposed to give you some
  766. 35:03special consideration because you don't
  767. 35:06have a penis what you don't give me any
  768. 35:09because I do remember the husband yeah
  769. 35:14didn't understand what he goes through
  770. 35:15the stress the pressures every day
  771. 35:17because we suck it up
  772. 35:20we suck it up the guy worked with two
  773. 35:23days ago in 19 years and abuse assist
  774. 35:25you in a woman's crazy she's a
  775. 35:27narcissist he's a megalomaniac she's a
  776. 35:29control freak she takes no
  777. 35:32responsibility for anything ever ever on
  778. 35:35earth happens in the household it's
  779. 35:36always his fault always no matter what
  780. 35:39it is
  781. 35:39all she does is go to nurses and spend
  782. 35:42all his money buying clothes she never
  783. 35:43wears she's corrupted her daughters and
  784. 35:48her son turned children away from this
  785. 35:52guy and all he does is work his ass off
  786. 35:55excuse me
  787. 35:57why do we need a men's rights movement
  788. 35:59you tell me maybe because we don't have
  789. 36:03that right now people when I say we
  790. 36:07don't have any people so excute I
  791. 36:08thought you men had all the rights well
  792. 36:10show me if you can show it to me I'll
  793. 36:14wear it you know but I'm not buying it
  794. 36:18you know people have not showed it to me
  795. 36:20why aren't the prison is full of men
  796. 36:22because they were aggressive interview
  797. 36:24really hmm
  798. 36:26yeah well that's true a lot of us for
  799. 36:28failing to pay child support well are
  800. 36:29all deadbeats that's where they belong
  801. 36:30well do you realize that women who were
  802. 36:32similarly situated are more likely not
  803. 36:35to pay child support than men how come
  804. 36:36we don't look at that because you don't
  805. 36:40have a penis it's as simple as that it's
  806. 36:44not even complicated I mean I can go on
  807. 36:49and on and on he wanted examples how
  808. 36:51many examples do you want
  809. 36:53how about Obama care do you realize it
  810. 36:56young man you have to provide insurance
  811. 36:58under Obama care have to pay for
  812. 37:00paternity maternity insurance in case
  813. 37:04they get pregnant I guess maybe there's
  814. 37:07something going on in Washington even we
  815. 37:09don't know about yet you know maybe I'll
  816. 37:14wake up tomorrow and I'll have twins in
  817. 37:16my stomach or something now why is that
  818. 37:19what's the motivation okay how come a
  819. 37:22women won't step up and take oh they use
  820. 37:2480% of the health services in the United
  821. 37:27States of America eighty percent so
  822. 37:31while I keep reaping into our pocket
  823. 37:34okay you're not reaching in your pocket
  824. 37:37to pay for mine right so why what's the
  825. 37:43motivation I think it all goes back to
  826. 37:46warn disenfranchised and then
  827. 37:48disempowerment more men you can extract
  828. 37:52from a family the more men you can
  829. 37:54criminalize for the weakest offense
  830. 37:56here's the example I'm in the military
  831. 38:01I'm a career military person I've been
  832. 38:02in eighteen years the only thing I want
  833. 38:04to do is put in my thirty I've been to
  834. 38:06work five times been on so many
  835. 38:08deployments I've been shot I've got the
  836. 38:10medals I'm all these things and I'm in
  837. 38:13this situation I'm falsely accused of
  838. 38:15domestic violence I can't even have a
  839. 38:17gun and they yanked my security
  840. 38:18clearance the military no longer wants
  841. 38:23to deal with me because down a problem
  842. 38:25so now I'm going to be kicked out the
  843. 38:28family court doesn't give a [ __ ] the
  844. 38:31family courts gonna say you still need
  845. 38:33to pay child support you're gonna still
  846. 38:34need to pay Alan I can't I no longer
  847. 38:36have a job my career was taken away from
  848. 38:38me because I was falsely accused and I
  849. 38:40don't care that's not our issue I don't
  850. 38:45care that's not our issue when you do
  851. 38:48things like that you expand definitions
  852. 38:50of domestic violence or crime where you
  853. 38:51can criminalize almost anybody for
  854. 38:53anything and then you criminalize
  855. 38:55something like I'm getting a temporary
  856. 38:57restraining order which has a purpose
  857. 38:59and that purpose should only be to keep
  858. 39:00cardis a park so there's no injury you
  859. 39:03don't criminalize the act of the
  860. 39:05issuance of restraining order but
  861. 39:06they've done that why have they done
  862. 39:07that because now it creates a record and
  863. 39:11who are restraining orders most often
  864. 39:12issued against the man not the woman
  865. 39:14right so now we've criminalized another
  866. 39:16man for doing what nothing doing
  867. 39:19absolutely nothing
  868. 39:20we've criminalized him maybe we need
  869. 39:24them as rights movement maybe that's a
  870. 39:27reason I mean an investor a smuggler you
  871. 39:31add them all up so what happens so we're
  872. 39:34disenfranchising we're disempowering why
  873. 39:36are we disenfranchising and
  874. 39:37disempowering men what's the motivation
  875. 39:40what do you think the motivation might
  876. 39:42be because men have all the power and
  877. 39:45control because we're so evil because if
  878. 39:50you walk out that door everything you
  879. 39:52see was has been built by a man what's
  880. 39:58our contribution does that mean women
  881. 40:01don't have value
  882. 40:02that's ridiculous of course you guys
  883. 40:05have value you know or we wouldn't get
  884. 40:07in trouble so much guys okay we're all
  885. 40:12on the same boat we just don't seem to
  886. 40:17respect each other for who we are and
  887. 40:20there's something sinister there's some
  888. 40:23sinister aspect of our culture some
  889. 40:25sinister as something sick something
  890. 40:27malignant something horrific ly
  891. 40:31destructive that hasn't even come close
  892. 40:35to tearing us apart yet but we're
  893. 40:37getting there and if we don't change
  894. 40:39something radically and do it soon we're
  895. 40:43gonna be in D
  896. 40:44crap and I think that's exactly what
  897. 40:47some of these people want and that's
  898. 40:52where I don't want to go because that's
  899. 40:54not the one way stepping out of men's
  900. 40:55rights or or gender issues okay buddy
  901. 41:02you want to talk about the inequities I
  902. 41:03can go on for days I think we should
  903. 41:09take a break
  904. 41:11[Music]
