  1. 0:00Hello. And I'm sure you've read the
  2. 0:02title of this video [sighs] and you
  3. 0:04didn't expect those to come off the
  4. 0:06wall. And welcome. Now, I have just some
  5. 0:08explaining to do. Hi, I'm Zo Spanter Z
  6. 0:10Reviews. And I'm not talking about you
  7. 0:15being an [ __ ] I'm talking about
  8. 0:17these guys here because the the the
  9. 0:21moral of the story is there's five
  10. 0:23gemstones in the title. This is a $5,000
  11. 0:28essentially dongle and where I the
  12. 0:33purchasing reason for this had to be
  13. 0:35found before I could start the review
  14. 0:36because
  15. 0:38I've been using it a lot. I I like
  16. 0:40someone was just complaining I don't do
  17. 0:41long enough times with IM in my when I
  18. 0:43do IM. I could do like an hour and I
  19. 0:45could do an IM review. This has been
  20. 0:47weeks
  21. 0:48and it took me weeks to figure out why
  22. 0:51you would spend and I I have the mimic
  23. 0:53page open. Wallpaper available in the
  24. 0:55wallpaper horde. Thank you for being
  25. 0:56patrons and subscribers or supporters.
  26. 0:58Uh where are you mimic? There you go.
  27. 1:00Literally 5,000. Not even $49999. None
  28. 1:03of the five straight thousand. And I
  29. 1:06respect them for that. If you don't
  30. 1:08know, this is an Italian unit and they
  31. 1:11only make two. the company ODMA, which
  32. 1:14this is the Odma PHPA1
  33. 1:17Brioso.
  34. 1:20Um, they only make two things. This
  35. 1:22$5,000 portable and their big amp, which
  36. 1:25is $11,400. And that'll be reviewed
  37. 1:28later on. I can't do two in a row.
  38. 1:29Everyone will kill me. So, five five
  39. 1:34this many,000. And you would think if I
  40. 1:36put the word [ __ ] in the thumbnail,
  41. 1:38it's because it's only for [ __ ] who
  42. 1:40buy it. You're wrong. You see what I
  43. 1:42figured out about this unit and me
  44. 1:45[ __ ] I mute my phone and my watch
  45. 1:46just goes ham. Um, is this is for
  46. 1:50headphones
  47. 1:52that are [ __ ] Prime example of an
  48. 1:55[ __ ] headphone, the Mod House
  49. 1:56Tungsten.
  50. 1:58This runs the Mod House Tungsten. Is it
  51. 2:02100% perfect? Everything you ever need
  52. 2:04ever. No. But nothing portable has come
  53. 2:08closer than this. And we'll get to why
  54. 2:11in a second, but I've got an align
  55. 2:13alignment here. And honestly, the one
  56. 2:15that threw me over the top was Serene
  57. 2:17Director's Cut. If you don't know, this
  58. 2:19is my collab. There are some available.
  59. 2:20If you go to PPA, you can get Princess
  60. 2:22Pasta Audio. And this is a headphone
  61. 2:24that isn't, you know what? Maybe it is
  62. 2:27the most [ __ ] headphone for those of
  63. 2:30you who are like, you know, I really I
  64. 2:31really want a headphone that's a piece
  65. 2:33of [ __ ] And not just because like it's
  66. 2:36built kind of a little less, but because
  67. 2:38it cares so much not only about the
  68. 2:40amplifier, but even the wire links to
  69. 2:43APOS for this $800
  70. 2:46Japanese [ __ ] wire,
  71. 2:49which just gives a [ __ ] about All right,
  72. 2:51you know what? Put you back. Put you
  73. 2:53back. So, I got the Serene Director's
  74. 2:55Cut. I got the Fostex uh TH1100 Mark II,
  75. 2:59which is not really an [ __ ] It's
  76. 3:02more like just really neutral and it
  77. 3:05doesn't have a lot of excitement. So,
  78. 3:06you got to pump some excitement into it.
  79. 3:08H600's, which we all know work better on
  80. 3:10a tube than they do on a solid state.
  81. 3:13Like, I love my H600. I [ __ ] painted
  82. 3:15them,
  83. 3:17but they're not the best they could be
  84. 3:18until you put them into an [ __ ] tube
  85. 3:21something. And then um the the saddest
  86. 3:24iteration of [ __ ] is the Imperion 2
  87. 3:27because all all Mezz headphones before
  88. 3:30this
  89. 3:32were easygoing. And one of the reasons I
  90. 3:34had a hard time figuring out what this
  91. 3:36was about is I had a $5,000 [ __ ]
  92. 3:38dongle.
  93. 3:40What's the headphone you put on it? I
  94. 3:42literally I want to see comments. I want
  95. 3:44to see what is you are gifted this. You
  96. 3:46can't sell it to to pay for rent or food
  97. 3:49for some reason. You have this. What is
  98. 3:53your first headphone? Assuming you have
  99. 3:55this headphone or you you want this
  100. 3:57headphone. I put the Fostex TH910 in it.
  101. 4:01It's It's my favorite headphone in the
  102. 4:02world. All right. It is even over like
  103. 4:04my own headphone. By the way, Aerys is
  104. 4:06back and that number is wrong. We've had
  105. 4:0815 pre-orders before I even announced
  106. 4:10it. So, there's technically 485. Um, but
  107. 4:14like that is like my favorite headphone,
  108. 4:16but it's my favorite headphone for
  109. 4:17reasons that I've tuned it and there's a
  110. 4:19lot of emotions there and it's the bassy
  111. 4:21[ __ ] with this huge sound stage.
  112. 4:22You know the bassy [ __ ] you s
  113. 4:24TH910. It's $2800
  114. 4:28Japanese red. Oh, I didn't bring it down
  115. 4:30here. You know why it's not down here?
  116. 4:32because I used this for the first week
  117. 4:34on just that and I was meh about this
  118. 4:38because that headphone is easygoing.
  119. 4:42That headphone sounds great on
  120. 4:44everything. And that's not not what this
  121. 4:46ODMA wants. This ODMA is here for your
  122. 4:49[ __ ] Don't take that out of
  123. 4:51context. You know, YouTube has clips
  124. 4:53now. I've never had my channel clipped.
  125. 4:54I don't know how that hasn't been a
  126. 4:56thing. And this SJY, which I can't
  127. 4:58remember the model number of, with the
  128. 5:00dragon on it, is an [ __ ] Tungsten,
  129. 5:04blatant [ __ ] I literally did another
  130. 5:06collab. I did the Valencia here, which
  131. 5:08we will be preempting with this in a
  132. 5:11bit. Um, because tungsten just like 150
  133. 5:15ohm, like 80 decel sensitivity plane.
  134. 5:18This is a double-sided. So, it's
  135. 5:19actually the double-sided in Canada,
  136. 5:21which is on fire. Uh, pray for everyone
  137. 5:24in Canada because they are actually in
  138. 5:25trouble. Um, this is the original
  139. 5:28double-sided, which is a little bit
  140. 5:29harder than like like that monster over
  141. 5:30there, which is a single-sided 9.0, but
  142. 5:33[ __ ] You can't just get tungsten
  143. 5:35like I'm going to plug it into my
  144. 5:37receiver from the 19, you know, 2007.
  145. 5:40Actually, 1990s probably still be
  146. 5:41better. You can't. You can't. You can't.
  147. 5:43You can't. You get dual TMs that are
  148. 5:45like 60 pounds each to run those.
  149. 5:47[ __ ] [ __ ] Kind of an [ __ ]
  150. 5:51The first ass the first mez headphone
  151. 5:54that gives a [ __ ] about what you plug it
  152. 5:55into to sound good. [ __ ] all around.
  153. 5:59This is when you have this is what you
  154. 6:01buy when you have exhausted all of your
  155. 6:05other options for and I want to say
  156. 6:08transportable cuz I have this weird
  157. 6:10sensation that no one's getting on a
  158. 6:12city bus
  159. 6:15like or a train unless you like half own
  160. 6:18the train with something that you're
  161. 6:20going to actually hook up to your phone
  162. 6:22and play on the go then you might be an
  163. 6:25actual [ __ ] It be fun. Um, so yeah,
  164. 6:30you know what? Let's let's shut this
  165. 6:32off. I got I got to do a thing. I got to
  166. 6:35do a thing. Got to do a unit tour
  167. 6:38because if any unit deserves a unit
  168. 6:39tour, it'll be this and the big ODM.
  169. 6:42First of all, she heavy. She's She's got
  170. 6:44some weight. If I took it like this, I'm
  171. 6:46so tempted. You ever just hold something
  172. 6:48and it's like, man, I want to just throw
  173. 6:49this. I want to just [ __ ] fling this
  174. 6:52at someone cuz it's got built-in [ __ ]
  175. 6:54rings. These are actual rubberized rings
  176. 6:56that I think are they slide if you
  177. 6:58really get under them. Maybe not. Maybe
  178. 7:00I was hallucinating or was another set
  179. 7:02that they were loose. Um, so they're
  180. 7:04rubberized so that you could put it
  181. 7:05down. I mean, technically you could drop
  182. 7:06it on the back of your phone.
  183. 7:08Technically, you can put it on the back
  184. 7:09of your phone. The the box, where the
  185. 7:12[ __ ] did I put the box? The box has the
  186. 7:14the wires, which I wanted to complain
  187. 7:16about, and I don't have it here. It was
  188. 7:19here. Now it's not here. How do I do
  189. 7:22this? How how does ZOS even [ __ ]
  190. 7:25function? Anyway, this comes with three
  191. 7:28wires, a little jumper for going in, a
  192. 7:32big jumper like this. This is a DD hi-fi
  193. 7:34one, which is just the greatest. This is
  194. 7:35a Comet Gold. This is like the nicest
  195. 7:38USBC to USBC wire on Earth. And it
  196. 7:41should come with the ODMA. And it comes
  197. 7:43in one with a little jumper for
  198. 7:45Lightning. So, that's all you're missing
  199. 7:46from the box. The box looks pretty
  200. 7:47plain, Jane. And this from just the
  201. 7:50looks of it is like, "Oh, is that like a
  202. 7:532016 amplifier, huh?" And you look at
  203. 7:56the bottom and it's like, "Oh. Oh,
  204. 7:59there's stuff here."
  205. 8:01From left to right, your output section,
  206. 8:04your unbalanced 3.5, your balanced 4.4,
  207. 8:08three switches, two USBC's, and then
  208. 8:10another set of 4.4 and 3.5. So, these
  209. 8:14are inputs. Um, this is what I was using
  210. 8:17for the phone connection. There is a
  211. 8:19separate lightning bolt one which is
  212. 8:21what you use to charge the unit. If we
  213. 8:23were to plug into
  214. 8:26I love when I bend over and make noises.
  215. 8:28It doesn't even hurt. It's just
  216. 8:29something you do when you get older. I
  217. 8:31don't get it. I could easily just go
  218. 8:34but for some reason it's more fun when I
  219. 8:36go. [screaming]
  220. 8:37Is that happen to you? Like what age did
  221. 8:39that start? Cuz it just I feel like it's
  222. 8:41just going to get worse. Plug it in to
  223. 8:42charge it. It's currently in the off
  224. 8:44mode. And you'll see you have a four
  225. 8:47segment blue LED. And I'm not going to
  226. 8:49hark on the blue LED cuz it's actually
  227. 8:50really tastefully done. But you can see
  228. 8:53that segment there is blinking. Your
  229. 8:55battery indicator is
  230. 8:58is it four segments or more segments? I
  231. 9:00think it's just four segments around
  232. 9:01that which is kind of [ __ ] awesome.
  233. 9:03And this is a button. We'll we'll get to
  234. 9:05the top. So you've seen the bottom.
  235. 9:07You've seen the blinking. I didn't
  236. 9:08charge it to full so that you could
  237. 9:10actually see it blink. Uh so the bottom
  238. 9:12is [ __ ] loaded. We've got our
  239. 9:14outputs, our inputs. You can do analog
  240. 9:16inputs, which is what this is for. This
  241. 9:19is actually coming off of the R2R tube
  242. 9:21from FO, the warmer, because I wanted to
  243. 9:24test to see what the DAC versus the DAC
  244. 9:27versus another deck that's a good deck
  245. 9:29with a special wire. I forget who made
  246. 9:31this wire for me. Was it best in the
  247. 9:34verse? It was It was a while ago. And I
  248. 9:36It wasn't Scra. I thought it was Skera.
  249. 9:38I don't know if it was Heart Audio, but
  250. 9:39he would have put his own thing on it.
  251. 9:41Anyway, that's coming out of the back of
  252. 9:43the tube warmer deck, which is only
  253. 9:45$300, but I think arguably one of the
  254. 9:48best sounding sources you could buy. So,
  255. 9:52keep that in mind. Um, also, did my LEDs
  256. 9:56blow out on this? There's no lights.
  257. 9:59Is there a button on the back? What
  258. 10:01[ __ ] Oh, there are. It's just not very
  259. 10:03bright. Anyway,
  260. 10:05three switches. You know what the two
  261. 10:06USBC's are. You know what the these are
  262. 10:08inputs for balanced and unbalanced input
  263. 10:11and then you have your outputs and then
  264. 10:12you have three switches and the three
  265. 10:14switches is what makes this the [ __ ]
  266. 10:17fixer.
  267. 10:19Um the first switch is 3 volts or 10
  268. 10:23volts. Now planarss a lot of planars
  269. 10:26those those care how many volts are in a
  270. 10:31signal not just how many uh watts. And
  271. 10:35this is running the internal rails
  272. 10:36either at 3 volts or 10 volts. So that's
  273. 10:39automatically like oh that's an
  274. 10:40interesting thing. There are some other
  275. 10:42amplifiers portables that have like a
  276. 10:43setting like that. I just can't think of
  277. 10:46any right this second. The other two
  278. 10:48switches, one is labeled 0 to plus 8 and
  279. 10:50the other one's labeled 0 to + 16. And
  280. 10:53guess what? You can push them both up
  281. 10:55and then get uh if we do math 24 dB of
  282. 11:00gain.
  283. 11:01So you can get 10 volts
  284. 11:04and up to 24 dB of gain. So when you put
  285. 11:08all these things down, it's pretty
  286. 11:10normal and it's amazing sounding. And we
  287. 11:13haven't even gotten to the things the
  288. 11:16things this unit
  289. 11:19does that I've never like. Here's the
  290. 11:22thing.
  291. 11:24I've been using this ODMA and I've been
  292. 11:26using the big ODMA. This is not even the
  293. 11:28big one. It's 5,000. It's not even the
  294. 11:29big ODMA. And
  295. 11:31when Italians get it right, they [ __ ]
  296. 11:34get it right. And it's terrifying
  297. 11:37because I'm actually going to be like,
  298. 11:38"Ooh,
  299. 11:40yeah." Cuz I shouldn't. I shouldn't. Old
  300. 11:43Zos would never even have imagined. He'd
  301. 11:45be like, "Oh, $5,000 portable. I could
  302. 11:46make that make sense in my brain." I I'm
  303. 11:49using it and I'm loving it and I'm still
  304. 11:50having a hard time making it make sense.
  305. 11:52So, ODMA is known for both of their
  306. 11:55units, this and the big boy, which I
  307. 11:58can't remember the exact name of. Um,
  308. 12:00have
  309. 12:02this Alisa system, which uh is that
  310. 12:05which if we turn this on, we'll get the
  311. 12:07blue LED. It'll blink cuz it's getting
  312. 12:09[ __ ] ready. It's getting ready. Let
  313. 12:12it get ready. Are you almost ready? Are
  314. 12:14you ready? Okay, we're ready. Now, it's
  315. 12:16amber, but it's also amber and fully
  316. 12:19charged. So when you take it on to blue,
  317. 12:21when you pull this out, blue is
  318. 12:24technically off. So the the thing out,
  319. 12:28blue is off. The thing in, amber is on,
  320. 12:32but it no longer shows you your battery
  321. 12:35percentage because the blue ones are the
  322. 12:36only ones that do that. So slight
  323. 12:38hiccup, but I well, you'll see what I'm
  324. 12:42talking about. So the onoff switch is
  325. 12:43literally the knob. The knobby goes
  326. 12:45click and it is such it is
  327. 12:52[sighs]
  328. 12:53when I did the old opal hatu I I turned
  329. 12:57the power knob on that which was a
  330. 12:58similar little thing and it went click
  331. 12:59and it sounded like you were cracking
  332. 13:00the spine of a small animal and that
  333. 13:03that's been a famous quote of mine
  334. 13:04forever. This one
  335. 13:08I I don't know. It feels like I just
  336. 13:11threw the power switch on a $5,000
  337. 13:13Italian portable. That's the only way to
  338. 13:15describe it because it goes and it's
  339. 13:18soft yet firm yet like it's like trying
  340. 13:20to describe how it feels to drive like a
  341. 13:23rare Ferrari
  342. 13:24with words and that's like it's not
  343. 13:26happening. It's [ __ ] not happening.
  344. 13:27Just you have to get one, pick it up and
  345. 13:28go, "Oh, fuck." And then you'll
  346. 13:31understand. Um so volume knob is very
  347. 13:33basic. It goes all the way up, goes all
  348. 13:34the way down. There is um no indicator
  349. 13:36on it
  350. 13:38and I know why. It's just a design
  351. 13:41thing. They decided to not do it cuz
  352. 13:43Italians like no it must look beautiful.
  353. 13:46And it does look [ __ ] stunning. They
  354. 13:48could have easily put numbers here or
  355. 13:51numbers on top or a ne a dash. So you're
  356. 13:55going to have a lot of experience
  357. 13:57turning this volume knob all the way
  358. 13:58down. But the thing is you'll turn it
  359. 14:00down. It feels like it's hitting a stop,
  360. 14:03but that's actually just before it goes
  361. 14:05click.
  362. 14:07You All right, knobfield guy, if you're
  363. 14:09out there, we miss you.
  364. 14:12Put it on and blink for me. And then we
  365. 14:15get to the weirdest, coolest [ __ ]
  366. 14:17thing I've ever seen in a portable,
  367. 14:19which are these popup
  368. 14:21knobs
  369. 14:23for angle, stage, and bass, which is a
  370. 14:26fish. When I dictate to my phone,
  371. 14:29because I'm talking to somebody, if I
  372. 14:30say base, it always puts an e. So, when
  373. 14:33I dictate to my phone in like the
  374. 14:35patronage chat, which you can join uh
  375. 14:37for $15 a month on Patreon, uh you can
  376. 14:40jump in there and talk to me and I'll
  377. 14:42talk to you and we'll and I'll talk
  378. 14:43about bass because if I say bass, it
  379. 14:46spells it correctly. So, in my brain, a
  380. 14:48lot of times I'm saying, "Damn, Aris got
  381. 14:50a lot of bass." And that's a fish and
  382. 14:52it's really it's it's killing me, Oscar.
  383. 14:54It's killing me. Um,
  384. 14:57what they're known for, what the Alisa
  385. 14:59system is, is angle and stage adjustment
  386. 15:02of sound. So, kind of like crossfeed,
  387. 15:06but a little different. It's more like
  388. 15:08speaker emulation,
  389. 15:10but almost not sharing the channels,
  390. 15:12almost just doing phasing things to
  391. 15:16literally adjust. So, here, let's put
  392. 15:18these down to the lowest common
  393. 15:20denominator. There's there's Which one
  394. 15:22does this one have? There's zero 0
  395. 15:24degrees angle which is actually
  396. 15:27basically
  397. 15:29and then there's stage which has
  398. 15:33specifically
  399. 15:3518 dB and a picture of arrows going that
  400. 15:38way. I don't know if my camera is going
  401. 15:38to pick up on that. So you have off
  402. 15:41which goes past off a little bit and
  403. 15:42that I mean that if it stopped right
  404. 15:44there that'd be great but it's not
  405. 15:45German, it's Italian. Wrong European
  406. 15:48country. So you go past it a little bit
  407. 15:50to make it sure it's off. And then you
  408. 15:51go up and it's like and all the it's not
  409. 15:53like it goes click like you could pick
  410. 15:55from off to
  411. 15:5718 dB all the way to -6 dB and you can
  412. 16:00see the arrows are changing and they're
  413. 16:03they're short and then they're they're
  414. 16:05long and then over here it's 0 dB
  415. 16:09stage
  416. 16:10and you're like what? Okay. And then the
  417. 16:13angle goes from 0 degrees to 45 degrees,
  418. 16:16which looks a lot very similar to the
  419. 16:18negative 18 dB with slightly different
  420. 16:20shapes. And then you have 90 degrees,
  421. 16:21which is pointing arrows that way. And
  422. 16:24then I think the maximum on this is just
  423. 16:26called plus+ for more than 90°. [ __ ]
  424. 16:29that's backwards. All right, that's it
  425. 16:31shouldn't even be a thing. And these two
  426. 16:34knobs
  427. 16:36are controlled by that. If it's green,
  428. 16:39if it's I'm sorry, if it's blue, it's
  429. 16:41on. If it's amber, it's off. So, most of
  430. 16:43the time I was listening to it off
  431. 16:44because not every headphone
  432. 16:47actually lets you know what these are
  433. 16:49doing. They're subtle. And that's my
  434. 16:52it's both my biggest problem and one of
  435. 16:54my praises is that they're doing
  436. 16:57something subtly.
  437. 16:59And that means you got to spend a lot of
  438. 17:01time. you presumably you're not
  439. 17:03reviewing this and you own this or
  440. 17:05you're going to own it and you're going
  441. 17:07to pick your one headphone that you love
  442. 17:08to use whether it's an SJY or the Aerys
  443. 17:12or the Mod House [ __ ] tungsten or an
  444. 17:14Imperion or H600 or that or that or that
  445. 17:17or that or that or holy [ __ ] there's
  446. 17:20just a pile of [ __ ]
  447. 17:22You're going to pick your headphone.
  448. 17:23You're going to plug it in and you're
  449. 17:24going to sit there and you're going to
  450. 17:25do this.
  451. 17:27First of all, you're going to turn it
  452. 17:28on. And you're going to be like,
  453. 17:34and I I I could tell you I brought this
  454. 17:35to my bedroom. I laid in bed. We We'll
  455. 17:37discuss bedf in another video. That's
  456. 17:39that's my new phrase. Don't wear it out
  457. 17:41or do wear it out, but make sure it
  458. 17:43leads back to me. And you're going to
  459. 17:45play. We're actually going to close
  460. 17:46that. You're going to play with your
  461. 17:48angle and stage for hours because it is
  462. 17:52such a minute amount of change, but it
  463. 17:56is there. And if you go all the way, if
  464. 17:58you go to the extreme, which is just
  465. 17:59like on the big one, if you go all the
  466. 18:00way extreme, you notice it. But it
  467. 18:03doesn't sound good. It isn't one of
  468. 18:05those turn it up all the way, it's the
  469. 18:07best. It's not that. There are specific
  470. 18:10things that change per headphone,
  471. 18:13sometimes per song, which there's no
  472. 18:15song currently playing until I plug this
  473. 18:17in that you're like, "Oh my god, that
  474. 18:19that's that's exactly what this
  475. 18:20headphone was missing." or my brain, my
  476. 18:22HRTF is different from every other
  477. 18:24humans. And that's what this will adjust
  478. 18:26to. But now, let's put those away for a
  479. 18:29second. And sure enough, Alisa turn off
  480. 18:31Alisa. And let's pop back out the bass
  481. 18:35knob. Um, so the bass adjustment on this
  482. 18:39is off, which it does again go past the
  483. 18:42word off.
  484. 18:44Then the first indicator is 37 hertz and
  485. 18:48the second indicator is 68 hertz and the
  486. 18:52last indicator is 125 htz. So you're not
  487. 18:56actually telling it how much bass boost,
  488. 18:59you're telling it where to boost the
  489. 19:02bass. So people uh who love Aerys,
  490. 19:06they're probably going to be somewhere
  491. 19:08in the in fact between 68 and 125 is
  492. 19:12probably like where the like bass but
  493. 19:15not quite mid-base but not subbase boost
  494. 19:18is and or you can go right to 68 or you
  495. 19:22can go I actually prefer it on most
  496. 19:23headphones that are not AIS between 37
  497. 19:27and 68. So somewhere in like the 47
  498. 19:30region I don't [ __ ] know. There's no
  499. 19:32indicator. It's just you turn it. And
  500. 19:35the thing is you turn it to off and it
  501. 19:38goes away. And when you turn it on, if
  502. 19:39you're trying to get just subbase, you
  503. 19:41really can't because as you turn this
  504. 19:44knob, like it's still off and then it
  505. 19:48starts slowly fading up until you get to
  506. 19:50about 37. So if you wanted to raise 15
  507. 19:53hertz to like 20 dB more, this is not
  508. 19:56your unit. This is a subtle unit. It's
  509. 19:58about subtlety. It's about spending
  510. 20:00$5,000 and not showing off because it
  511. 20:03doesn't I will say this if you watch my
  512. 20:06coverage of Vienna. I don't know if it's
  513. 20:09in the edited version. It might be in
  514. 20:10the edited version as well on YouTube,
  515. 20:11but there's the unedited version as well
  516. 20:13on my Patreon, which you can see for
  517. 20:15free right now. It's all nine hours of
  518. 20:16it. They had a goldplated one of these
  519. 20:19that they made for a customer. And then
  520. 20:21there was one they couldn't physically
  521. 20:22let me show on camera where the owner
  522. 20:25asked them to be the knob with actual
  523. 20:30gemstones and they took that out from
  524. 20:31under they had the gold one in a
  525. 20:33spinning thing to show it off. The other
  526. 20:34one was like no no no no and they took
  527. 20:36and it was just it was like encrusted
  528. 20:38with rubies. So that's the level of
  529. 20:40people who are buying this. If you ever
  530. 20:42get to hear one you're lucky. Um, but so
  531. 20:47the bass is, first of all, a bass knob
  532. 20:50adjustment is just great automatically.
  533. 20:52Like we've had bass boosts on some
  534. 20:54products like the IFIs when they were
  535. 20:56still doing good bass boost. Uh, like
  536. 20:58the um um um um what the hell's the the
  537. 21:01one that looks like this? There's an IFI
  538. 21:03that looks like this. The Pocket. No,
  539. 21:06the Pocket has the camera in my head. Uh
  540. 21:08what was the the the Go? [ __ ] I've lost
  541. 21:11my mind. It's been too long. I haven't
  542. 21:13thought about it in a while and it's
  543. 21:14gone. Anyway, that had nice bass boost
  544. 21:16and I think it had like on and off. This
  545. 21:19you not only I wish this had two bass
  546. 21:21knobs, one for level and then one for
  547. 21:23frequency. That would be even better,
  548. 21:25but then it would be $8,000 and not
  549. 21:27$5,000. So, let's save money. I also
  550. 21:31love that you set it and then put it
  551. 21:34away. That's what that's for. It's not
  552. 21:37just, oh, look, it's cool. It's because
  553. 21:39these settings you're going to set
  554. 21:41perfectly for whatever headphone. And by
  555. 21:44the way, with the bass boosted, tungsten
  556. 21:45gets a lot harder to do on this, even
  557. 21:47with all those switches up. But you set
  558. 21:50it to whatever headphone you're [ __ ]
  559. 21:52around with. And then you go, I am done
  560. 21:54and now I listen. I'm done. Now I
  561. 21:57listen. And you never have to take those
  562. 22:00out again. They could just sit there
  563. 22:01forever if you only have one headphone.
  564. 22:03Um, that's the that was a unit tour. We
  565. 22:07just spent like 17 minutes on it. Should
  566. 22:10we go back to listening? Okay, so the
  567. 22:11unit's on. Um, the assessment I have
  568. 22:14with the DAC, which which using my phone
  569. 22:16as a portable, which is I imagine how
  570. 22:18most people are going to use this.
  571. 22:21Guess what? It's excellent. And by that
  572. 22:23I mean when I switch between the R2R
  573. 22:25tube from FO and the internal, I might
  574. 22:29actually prefer the internal.
  575. 22:32This obviously softens things up because
  576. 22:34it's a tube and an R2R. But this ODMA,
  577. 22:37see the big ODMA I'm going to have other
  578. 22:38words with for the DACK in that versus
  579. 22:42what I've fed into it. But this one, I'd
  580. 22:45probably stick with the USB as your
  581. 22:47input. For the uh convenience of this
  582. 22:50review, however,
  583. 22:52I will now feed it from this machine
  584. 22:54because it has all my music, including
  585. 22:57Basement Jack's Magnificent Romeo, which
  586. 22:59sounds like this.
  587. 23:01>> [music]
  588. 23:04>> And that's enough before we get
  589. 23:05copyright.
  590. 23:06I'm waiting for AI to just I want a
  591. 23:09setting so that I could set so that cuz
  592. 23:11AI already [ __ ] with every short on
  593. 23:13YouTube. In case you didn't know, every
  594. 23:15YouTube short is AI enhanced to make it
  595. 23:19look better. But my what I'm worried
  596. 23:22about is I'll have a can of uh Pepsi
  597. 23:24here because Pepsi is my preferred soda.
  598. 23:26argue about it in the comments, but I'll
  599. 23:28have a can of Pepsi here and one day
  600. 23:30YouTube will be like will be talking to
  601. 23:32Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola will be like,
  602. 23:33"Here's uh $400 million. Make sure there
  603. 23:36is nothing but Coca-Cola on every video
  604. 23:39on YouTube." And AI could easily just
  605. 23:41detect a Pepsi can and be like, "Bam,
  606. 23:44it's Coke." Now, hell, have you seen the
  607. 23:47translations? I'm going on a slight
  608. 23:48rant. There's an automatic translation
  609. 23:50on Instagram that I was following a very
  610. 23:53nice Brazilian lady who wears almost
  611. 23:56nothing and she was yelling at me in
  612. 23:57Spanish for the first month that I was
  613. 23:59watching her. And then all of a sudden
  614. 24:00she started speaking to me in English in
  615. 24:02her voice with her lips moving in
  616. 24:03English and I'm like, "Oh, she knows
  617. 24:05English. She does not." Instagram was
  618. 24:07converting it to like nine different
  619. 24:09languages. And I'm like, "Oo, let's not
  620. 24:11do that." Anyway, how did I get on that
  621. 24:13topic? I don't know. Um, let's plug
  622. 24:16things into it. So now I've got my
  623. 24:18source from the computer. We are feeding
  624. 24:20it from the R2R tube deck. Uh it
  625. 24:23automatically switches. There's no
  626. 24:24switch for inputs. It just knows. I
  627. 24:26think I think this takes priority over
  628. 24:29the USB. So you have to unplug it. I
  629. 24:31don't see people having like multiple
  630. 24:33sources into this thing. Um
  631. 24:37form factor. It comes into it now
  632. 24:39because now that I'm doing this, now
  633. 24:40that I'm doing DAC into this, this is
  634. 24:43just an amplifier. Just a $5,000 little
  635. 24:46tiny. It's actually very warm, by the
  636. 24:48way. Um, which is why it's heavy cuz
  637. 24:50it's mostly battery, I think. But this
  638. 24:53son of a [ __ ] is now trying to be a
  639. 24:55desktop amp. And I feel like they should
  640. 24:58almost include it wouldn't be 3D
  641. 25:00printed. It would be machined in the
  642. 25:02mountains of Italy. Um, that it could
  643. 25:04sit like this on a desk so that you
  644. 25:07would have your volume knob here and
  645. 25:09you'd have access to your knobs and you
  646. 25:10put it away. Because if it's just like
  647. 25:12that, then you got to sort of like lean
  648. 25:14it off a table and you also are plugging
  649. 25:16things in in the back. So like let's um
  650. 25:19we already did you. Let's move you. We
  651. 25:21we could we could pull tungsten off the
  652. 25:23off the thing if you'd like. Where the
  653. 25:25hell was this? This is my microphone
  654. 25:27stand when I do sound demos and it is
  655. 25:29not designed for this, but it's doing a
  656. 25:30decent job. Please don't collapse. Uh
  657. 25:34all right, you because everyone wants to
  658. 25:36see the tungsten run. Uh, we're just
  659. 25:39going to go and go whoop whoop whoop
  660. 25:41because tungsten. Um, turned it all the
  661. 25:45way down because again, we don't know.
  662. 25:47That's all the way up. That's all the
  663. 25:49way down. Can you tell the difference?
  664. 25:50No. And another thing is the machining
  665. 25:53on it is so nice that there's not even
  666. 25:54like imperfections to like notice. And
  667. 25:57when you turn it, it doesn't w like some
  668. 25:59knobs when you turn them, you could just
  669. 26:00tell they wiggle. You are getting I I
  670. 26:04really like to [ __ ] on things when
  671. 26:05they're expensive and not good.
  672. 26:07I'm having a real hard time [ __ ] on
  673. 26:10this. Bill just feels exceptional. Every
  674. 26:14little switch and knob and twist other
  675. 26:16than the the off thing being slightly
  676. 26:17offset.
  677. 26:19Uh oh yeah. Oh yeah. Where's where's my
  678. 26:21where's my gay colors? Pride month is
  679. 26:24over. But my my tungsten don't care.
  680. 26:26They're here to be rainbows for all of
  681. 26:28you. Um you on everything's up to max.
  682. 26:33We're coming out of this at full line
  683. 26:34voltage into that. We're currently
  684. 26:36playing Basement Jack's Magnificent
  685. 26:37Romeo. Let's move it off the table so I
  686. 26:39could turn the knob.
  687. 26:42I do not. That's full. Is so loud. So
  688. 26:48loud. That's so loud. Do you understand?
  689. 26:52I've never plugged tungsten anysided any
  690. 26:55revision into a portable and been like,
  691. 26:57"Jesus Christ, it's loud." And not loud
  692. 26:59and distorted. Loud. Cuz you're playing
  693. 27:02it loud.
  694. 27:04Anyway,
  695. 27:11Basement Jacks needs to be on all your
  696. 27:12playlists. Magnificent Romeo is great.
  697. 27:15Uh, apparently we shuffled to another
  698. 27:18basement jack song, even though I have
  699. 27:1930,000 songs in here.
  700. 27:22Which one is this? Rendezvous. Check.
  701. 27:25Skip forward a bit.
  702. 27:28All right. Playing fine. I will call
  703. 27:31this fine and loud and fine with the
  704. 27:34tungsten portable magic.
  705. 27:37I do all right. The bass knob, the bass
  706. 27:40knob does not get affected by the Alisa
  707. 27:42onoff switch. It is active all the time.
  708. 27:46If you don't want to do sound stage
  709. 27:47modifications and you turn that off and
  710. 27:49it it's it's currently sitting off. This
  711. 27:52will still function. So
  712. 27:57when you crank it, and by crank it, I
  713. 27:59mean bring it up to 125 Hz, which is
  714. 28:01where that the slope,
  715. 28:04there's distortion. If you don't, if you
  716. 28:06don't bass boost,
  717. 28:09there's something that I mean, I'm
  718. 28:10playing them loud loud. This is loud as
  719. 28:12I've ever would play a tongue sit on
  720. 28:14anything ever. You play it loud loud
  721. 28:16loud loud, there's just a hint of like
  722. 28:19it's unhappy. But if you play it at a
  723. 28:21normal volume like a human being,
  724. 28:24no problem. There you go. There's
  725. 28:26there's your solution for tungsten.
  726. 28:30Ah,
  727. 28:34Flight of the Bumblebees. Various artist
  728. 28:37Flight of the Bumblebees from SSS
  729. 28:39Majesty.
  730. 28:41You could the art the the the thing that
  731. 28:43I think of whenever I'm reviewing
  732. 28:45something that's either an amp or a
  733. 28:46portable is if I have an expensive
  734. 28:48thing, an expensive desirable thing,
  735. 28:51which is the headphone in this case,
  736. 28:53could I sell this at a show using this
  737. 28:57as a source? And I've said yes on a
  738. 29:00couple things with tungsten and they've
  739. 29:02all been lies up till now because
  740. 29:04apparently this is as good as you can
  741. 29:05get ever. See now there's only like 300
  742. 29:09of these in the wild. Like everyone's
  743. 29:11like tungsten, tungsten, tungsten.
  744. 29:12Imagine there's only 300 tungsten in the
  745. 29:14world that Ryan has been able to squeeze
  746. 29:16out by hand one at a time with Italian
  747. 29:19gold and everything.
  748. 29:22What the [ __ ] was that? You all heard
  749. 29:25that, right?
  750. 29:30I'm going to assume
  751. 29:33nothing's blowing up and I'll check if
  752. 29:35that noise happens again.
  753. 29:37home ownership. It sounded like an
  754. 29:39earthquake. Um, what time is it? It's
  755. 29:4210:25 on the
  756. 29:4625st of July 20th. I don't know.
  757. 29:50Whatever. Days are irrelevant.
  758. 29:53I wonder if that was happening while I
  759. 29:54had to All right, whatever. We'll we'll
  760. 29:56go listen. Hopefully, it's not someone
  761. 29:58in my house and I have to beat them. I
  762. 30:00would take the camera with me because I
  763. 30:02take that to the police while I'm
  764. 30:04beating the crap out of somebody. Um,
  765. 30:07this is amazing. Just this makes this
  766. 30:11worth existing. But let's unfucking do
  767. 30:15that because this is an unrealistic
  768. 30:17thing that people are not going to I
  769. 30:18don't know. Tell me if you're going to
  770. 30:19spend five grand to to take your two
  771. 30:21$2,200 headphones out. All right. So, we
  772. 30:24we usually don't need 10 volts. If it's
  773. 30:26a weird planar, yes, I'll say weird
  774. 30:29planars need the need the voltage. Those
  775. 30:31don't those are still efficient,
  776. 30:32although they're [ __ ] Remember,
  777. 30:34we're here for the [ __ ] Um, the
  778. 30:36fact that you can do both gains has been
  779. 30:38terrifying because I've accidentally
  780. 30:42both where I think one's down and one's
  781. 30:44up and I reach behind you. I give it
  782. 30:45Don't Don't Don't give this the reach
  783. 30:47around. Do not ever unless you know how
  784. 30:50to push it down. Don't look at it. Look
  785. 30:52at it and go like, "All right, cuz 0 0
  786. 30:55just 3 volts is where most things are
  787. 30:58happy here. Let's take the
  788. 31:01MP2s. Let's let's take you off.
  789. 31:03And we got to rebalance this with the
  790. 31:05MP2s all the way at the end. Oh, check
  791. 31:07out my Maja cable on Apos. It's very
  792. 31:09pretty. This is running a TD hi-fi
  793. 31:12cable. And I'm just going to put this
  794. 31:13baby on. I really should change this out
  795. 31:14with the Doneyi ones. I do have here
  796. 31:16somewhere the replacement pads for this.
  797. 31:19This is these are sad old originals. Oh,
  798. 31:23so much head sweat over the years. So,
  799. 31:25DDhi-Fi cable in. Everything's down.
  800. 31:29These are a 300 ohm headphone. So
  801. 31:31technically not the easiest headphone to
  802. 31:33drive, but
  803. 31:36not that.
  804. 31:38So if I max this out, Fly the
  805. 31:40Bumblebees, which is very quiet, is
  806. 31:43playing right about where we where I'd
  807. 31:46be the happiest at maximum. But you
  808. 31:48never want to have the volume knob
  809. 31:49pinned. So we're going to go back here
  810. 31:51and we're just going to put on eight.
  811. 31:54You could do eight, you could do 16, or
  812. 31:55you could do both. Trust me, you do not
  813. 31:57want to do both. There's only one
  814. 31:59headphone that needs both ever. Ever.
  815. 32:02Literally, this was like designed. It's
  816. 32:03like Valencia was designed for this.
  817. 32:05This was designed for this. Both.
  818. 32:10So, now I'm coming off the R2R tube
  819. 32:12deck. So, we've already got a little bit
  820. 32:13of warmth going into the unit. The the
  821. 32:15warmth is detectable. It's not as pass
  822. 32:18through as it would be like on a
  823. 32:19Valencia. And also, the Alisa system on
  824. 32:22this one is digital. So, we are
  825. 32:27technically digitizing this input.
  826. 32:31And then it's doing anything you want to
  827. 32:33do with stage and angle.
  828. 32:35I don't know if the bass is digital as
  829. 32:38well or if the bass is an analog
  830. 32:39circuit. It would make sense if it was
  831. 32:41digital. Like I can't tell. Usually with
  832. 32:43a digital knob, it's like you hear it
  833. 32:45like skipping. These are smooth as
  834. 32:47butter. Hell, it might be warm from the
  835. 32:50processing power and not the
  836. 32:51amplification, but
  837. 32:54should probably never pause that and
  838. 32:56just turn the volume knob down. Oh,
  839. 32:57that's another thing. If you ever go to
  840. 32:59an audio show, can I just make a
  841. 33:00request?
  842. 33:02I see this [clears throat]
  843. 33:03uh 90% of the time people go to an audio
  844. 33:06show, they'll sit at my table, at
  845. 33:08Mimik's table, at the ODMA table, and
  846. 33:10they'll listen to something, and when
  847. 33:12they're done, they pause the music and
  848. 33:14leave. Why the [ __ ] are you pausing the
  849. 33:17music? All that does is mean the next
  850. 33:19guy who sits down can't tell as he's
  851. 33:21putting the headphone on that you left
  852. 33:23it at I hate everyone levels. Let the
  853. 33:26music play. It's free essentially. I'm
  854. 33:29sure someone's technically paying for
  855. 33:30the internet and the streaming rights,
  856. 33:31but just let music play at audio shows.
  857. 33:34You could turn the volume down, but
  858. 33:36never off. And never pause the music.
  859. 33:38Let it run. Let it run. It really gets
  860. 33:43to me because I sit down and the guy was
  861. 33:44just listening. He puts it down. It's
  862. 33:46muted and the volume's up to 100 and I'm
  863. 33:48like or it's paused and the music I'm
  864. 33:50hit play and then I die. So just let it
  865. 33:52run. Put it to a natural level and be
  866. 33:55like, "All right, I'm done assessing
  867. 33:56these headphones. Thanks." You don't
  868. 33:59have to stop anything. All right. I
  869. 34:00don't know people who do that. Why you
  870. 34:02do that? Do you do that at home? I guess
  871. 34:04if you went in the middle of a song and
  872. 34:05you want to continue it. Yeah. But at a
  873. 34:08show, let it run. These are little
  874. 34:10tidbits of I guess anarchy. It's not
  875. 34:13even wisdom. I'm just yelling at you.
  876. 34:18All right.
  877. 34:20You know what? The H600's really need a
  878. 34:22little bit of a bass boost. And since
  879. 34:24we're coming off a tube DAC, we
  880. 34:26essentially are doing the thing where we
  881. 34:28HG600 sound better on a tube. This is a
  882. 34:31little preamp before, but but but but
  883. 34:36yes.
  884. 34:40And I'm like a little bit closer to
  885. 34:42probably at 5860.
  886. 34:45And it's like, oh yeah, that's where I
  887. 34:46want this. Oh,
  888. 34:50make it blue.
  889. 34:52We're at half battery. By the way, I
  890. 34:54don't know if they specify [gasps]
  891. 34:57um the battery life. I've used it and
  892. 34:59I've basically been charging it or not
  893. 35:01charging it. It outputs, by the way, 4
  894. 35:03watts at 64 ohms balanced is the is what
  895. 35:06they claim the maximum is. four watts.
  896. 35:08Now, other things if I have claimed like
  897. 35:12five watts, but as Golden Sound will
  898. 35:14tell you, they're not. This I believe
  899. 35:17it. It says up to 5 hours on the
  900. 35:20battery.
  901. 35:24Yeah, it's not going to be up to 5 hours
  902. 35:26with all those switches on, but I
  903. 35:29believe 5 hours on like a normal
  904. 35:30headphone is fine, which honestly isn't
  905. 35:33enough time for portable stuff.
  906. 35:37transportable stuff, it's fine. You need
  907. 35:39to move between your luxury hotel and
  908. 35:41your luxury resort. Play for two hours,
  909. 35:43it's fine. You're going to plug it in to
  910. 35:45power. But this one's for like it's like
  911. 35:475 hours. It's 5 hours cuz no matter
  912. 35:50what, it's warm. You've got a 5h hour
  913. 35:53$5,000 hand warmer that'll be in your
  914. 35:56pocket cooking you. So, let's put on
  915. 35:58this. Pop some knobs. I've already
  916. 36:00picked where I like the bass.
  917. 36:02We're listening to code gas baked words
  918. 36:06[music]
  919. 36:11and that bass response is just it's what
  920. 36:13this has always needed. But now I can go
  921. 36:16and take the stage because if you do the
  922. 36:18angle with no stage then it doesn't
  923. 36:19change anything. You got to do the stage
  924. 36:21first.
  925. 36:24And I usually set it to 45.
  926. 36:28And it's weird because it it feels like
  927. 36:30someone's taking the headphone on my
  928. 36:31head and just going like
  929. 36:35as I turn that knob back and forth.
  930. 36:37There's a physical movement of sound.
  931. 36:39It's not extreme. It's subtle and I
  932. 36:41don't know if I like it. It's not like
  933. 36:43you turn it go, "Oh, that's perfect."
  934. 36:44You got to turn it, leave it, and
  935. 36:45listen. Listen to the next track. Listen
  936. 36:47to the next track. Listen to the next
  937. 36:49track. Listen to the next track. And
  938. 36:51then determine if I I'm going to turn a
  939. 36:52little bit more.
  940. 36:54So, I haven't tuned in the HD600s, but I
  941. 36:57I know some of the other ones and where
  942. 36:58I like the settings on them. And that's
  943. 37:00what you're going to end up with. A
  944. 37:01[ __ ] Excel spreadsheet where you know
  945. 37:03exactly like no no 1.1 mm below 45 on
  946. 37:07the angle and then uh like on the back
  947. 37:10of the B for stage and then that's your
  948. 37:13setting. And then you put it away and
  949. 37:16you live there. Or you disable that,
  950. 37:19take away staging, but leave the bass,
  951. 37:22which I think is the best thing they've
  952. 37:24done is that the bass adjustment is just
  953. 37:26a bass adjustment. Again, I would still
  954. 37:28love it to be level and wear, but we'll
  955. 37:32live with it for we'll live. We'll all
  956. 37:34live. All right. This is not the end of
  957. 37:36days. Um the end of days is buying one
  958. 37:39of these. So
  959. 37:42let's uh
  960. 37:48you know everyone
  961. 37:50[groaning] let's go back. Okay this
  962. 37:54[ __ ] out here Valencia. Oh god. And
  963. 37:57these don't need the power of Valencia
  964. 37:58but everything needs the power of
  965. 38:00Valencia.
  966. 38:02Special colored editions may be coming
  967. 38:03soon. So what do we have up? Uh, I
  968. 38:06actually do leave it on plus eight
  969. 38:08because well, you know what? That was on
  970. 38:10tungsten. Let's bring it down to zero.
  971. 38:12And now I'm technically using this as
  972. 38:15just an an it can't even be an analog
  973. 38:18preamp because there's a digital circuit
  974. 38:19happening. But put that on
  975. 38:22die because I didn't turn the knob down.
  976. 38:30We're now getting the base boost from
  977. 38:31this through Valencia into the Imperium
  978. 38:342. And well, the angles are currently
  979. 38:37off, but it's like, oh my god, it's so
  980. 38:41warm.
  981. 38:43Oh, and depthy.
  982. 38:48Because all Valencia does, in case you
  983. 38:50don't know what this amplifier does, and
  984. 38:51I'm going to pimp it every video because
  985. 38:52it's my baby. You leave my baby out of
  986. 38:53this, is this is a is a zero sound
  987. 38:56changer. Anything you put into the back
  988. 38:58of it comes out the front of it bigger.
  989. 39:01And since this is already four watts, it
  990. 39:04shouldn't be needed. But this is a great
  991. 39:06test of exact like I'm getting just
  992. 39:09reference amplification being fed with
  993. 39:11the sound of this. I'm not stressing the
  994. 39:14amplifiers in this. It's just output
  995. 39:15whatever. And then we're we're listening
  996. 39:18to the sound of it.
  997. 39:24That's it's got to be Italian. It's just
  998. 39:25got to be Italian. Yeah, it's got to be.
  999. 39:27This is from the succession OST. This is
1000. 39:30Mar Murderer Conrio violin sexetto has
1001. 39:35the word sex in it. That's awesome.
1002. 39:39Th this every once in a while, if you
1003. 39:41haven't seen the show Succession, by the
  1004. 39:42way, here's a mini review of it. It's
1005. 39:44Game of Thrones meets Always Sunny in
  1006. 39:46Philadelphia.
1007. 39:48Always Sunny in Philadelphia. People
  1008. 39:49like, I don't like that show and I don't
  1009. 39:50know why or I don't like that show. I
  1010. 39:52don't like the characters. You're not
  1011. 39:53supposed to like the characters. They're
  1012. 39:55all pieces of [ __ ] in Always Sunny in
1013. 39:57Philadelphia. And once you understand
1014. 39:59that, you could just watch their hijinks
1015. 40:01as they go around and interact with
1016. 40:03normal people. Um, and Game Gra of
1017. 40:06Thrones is a power struggle with, you
1018. 40:08know, the heads of families of this
1019. 40:10great land. So, Succession is both of
  1020. 40:13those things. [ __ ] you're not
1021. 40:15supposed to like who are ruling the
1022. 40:17world and picking presidents and running
  1023. 40:19multinational conglomerates. Combine
1024. 40:21them together. Put this soundtrack on
1025. 40:30And it's some of the best television.
1026. 40:32Like I was actually shocked at how good
1027. 40:33the writing was. Just people having
  1028. 40:35conversations. And it isn't like they
1029. 40:36like show off their money. They just
1030. 40:38live as billionaires. And it's this is
1031. 40:41as close as I've ever gotten to feeling
1032. 40:44like I could be in that office with
1033. 40:46them. Is listening to this ODMA on the
1034. 40:48Imperians. I should take the elites off
1035. 40:50the wall, but they don't need the magic
1036. 40:52of this. But like this through this
1037. 40:54through this through my own cable in my
1038. 40:56own basement of my luxury middle of
  1039. 40:58[ __ ] nowhere Pennsylvania estate. I
  1040. 41:01can call it an estate, right? [ __ ] it.
  1041. 41:03Oh
  1042. 41:06[ __ ] All right, I'm just
1043. 41:14If you can afford this,
  1044. 41:16I'd recommend buying a $1,000 one
  1045. 41:18instead and giving $4,000 to charity.
  1046. 41:20But if your headphones are all [ __ ]
1047. 41:25like a bunch of mine are, I have plenty
1048. 41:27of headphones that just work. FYI5s just
1049. 41:29work, right? The big MX-rays are weird
1050. 41:32and just work. Ship 9500s just work.
  1051. 41:36These headphones, [ __ ] and you
  1052. 41:40can't get [ __ ] to play nice when
1053. 41:42you're going portable. And this is a
1054. 41:44solution. This is you getting so mad
  1055. 41:47that you just spent $5,000. That's what
1056. 41:50buy this is purchased in anger. This is
1057. 41:53not per sometimes I guarantee people are
  1058. 41:55going to buy goes, "Oh, it's fancy. It's
1059. 41:565,000 fancy." No, that's not the reason
1060. 41:59to buy this. The reason to buy this is
1061. 42:01because you have a headphone that just
  1062. 42:04[ __ ] hates you. It hates every
1063. 42:06amplifier you already have. It hates
1064. 42:07every wire. It hates your music choices.
1065. 42:10Hates it all. And this is like
1066. 42:13the prison guard that beats you. It
1067. 42:16shows up and you're like, "What is that
1068. 42:18little thing going to do?" And then it
1069. 42:19just beats you until you behave. It
  1070. 42:22gives you all the [ __ ] power in the
1071. 42:24world. It lets you twist the sound stage
1072. 42:26of the It gives you a bass boost. It's
1073. 42:28like, "Fuck you. I'm going to fix you
  1074. 42:31and I'm going to run you and you're
1075. 42:32going to be happy." It costs you a used
1076. 42:35car, but at least you get to say it's
1077. 42:38Italian. It needs red, white, and blue
  1078. 42:40on it somewhere. I just I I It's lacking
1079. 42:43the red, white, and blue. Um I'm sorry.
1080. 42:46Red, white, and green. I'm Italian for
1081. 42:48[ __ ] sake. Sorry. It was Fourth of
1082. 42:50July. Red, white, and blue on the brain.
  1083. 42:51Also, there's a CS collab cable I'm
1084. 42:54putting out to make them balanced until
1085. 42:55CS comes out with their original collab
1086. 42:57cable. So, keep an eye out for a hard
  1087. 42:58audio cable for CS, which I didn't bring
  1088. 43:01the CS Pro4.
  1089. 43:03Wow. Pro 4A. the COS A5550 A550 down
1090. 43:08here because those are easy to drive
1091. 43:09headphones. Relatively easy to drive and
1092. 43:11they sound great on everything. Not
  1093. 43:13necessary.
  1094. 43:15Necessary
1095. 43:17kind of necessary although you can get
  1096. 43:18away uh 100% necessary and [ __ ] you.
  1097. 43:22Serene director's cut available on
  1098. 43:25princess pasta audio.audio audio for I
1099. 43:28think we're going to probably put it to
1100. 43:29$200 and not 220 because I just want to
1101. 43:31move the rest of my 40 inventory out.
  1102. 43:33Needing $800 goddamn Japanese cables.
1103. 43:37I've never heard the Serene sound better
1104. 43:39on a portable than this. Same as
  1105. 43:42tungsten. This this [ __ ] this guy
1106. 43:45right here. Is it a great amplifier?
1107. 43:49Yes. Is it a great deck? I mean, the
1108. 43:53fact that I'm switching between that and
1109. 43:54this and kind of still preferring the
  1110. 43:57internals because it isn't doing an
  1111. 43:59analog to digital conversion. Yes, it's
  1112. 44:02a great deck, too.
  1113. 44:05It's It's just It's a price point that
1114. 44:07you're all going like, "Fuck that." And
  1115. 44:09I don't blame you. I wasn't even going
1116. 44:12to review this until TJ at Mimic was
1117. 44:14like, "Hey, you want to take the big
  1118. 44:16ODMA?" And I'm like, "Sure, I'll take
1119. 44:18your big ODMA." Then he went to Odma in
1120. 44:21Chicago and was like, "Give me one of
1121. 44:23the portables. I'll add it to my
1122. 44:25inventory." And then he handed it to me.
1123. 44:27So when I drove back from Chicago, this
1124. 44:29and the big one were sitting in the back
1125. 44:30of my truck. And I was at Kelver's like,
1126. 44:33"Does anyone buy my truck? Does everyone
  1127. 44:35buy my truck?" There's literally $16,000
1128. 44:38in audio gear in two boxes. And I was
  1129. 44:40like, "Ah." So
  1130. 44:43if your headphones are [ __ ] you buy
  1131. 44:45the bariso
  1132. 44:47bio.
1133. 44:51My Italian is wavering. You buy the
  1134. 44:54brioso.
  1135. 44:56Brioso.
1136. 44:58PHPA1. Which? Pick one. Either call it
1137. 45:01the Brioso or call it the PHPA1 or call
1138. 45:03it the A1. You could cut out so much of
  1139. 45:06this. The ODMA A1. Just perfect.
1140. 45:10Perfect. But let's put Brioso in there,
1141. 45:12too. Anyway, you could read all this. I
1142. 45:13haven't. I've done my best not to do
  1143. 45:16research. And I know that sounds like a
  1144. 45:18bad idea as a reviewer. I should know
  1145. 45:20everything. Shouldn't you know
  1146. 45:21everything, Zos? If I can't figure
  1147. 45:24something out, I'll look it up. But I
1148. 45:26don't want to be reading and sold on
  1149. 45:28words and maximum processing,
  1150. 45:30amplification, nothing else. Music.
1151. 45:31Placebo. Did it say the word placebo?
1152. 45:33No, it said pocketable. It is a
1153. 45:35pocketable device. Made in Italy by
  1154. 45:37ODMA. [sighs] A [ __ ] By the way, the
1155. 45:41DAC chip it uses is the AKM AK-4499 EXE
  1156. 45:45EQ plus the AK4191
1157. 45:48EQ Velvet Sound. There you go. It's kind
  1158. 45:51of wild that even at a $5,000 price
1159. 45:54point, like people are still using just
1160. 45:56AKM and Bur Browns and Cirrus Audios and
1161. 46:00uh uh uh I guess ROM decks are probably
1162. 46:03my favorite as far as like the weird
1163. 46:04outlier decks. You would think it would
1164. 46:06be some sort of weird FPGA that's just
1165. 46:08custom for them, but they're still in
1166. 46:10there and they're still great. So, let
1167. 46:12me turn this off there. Turn this off
1168. 46:16here. Set the base to off. Close it.
1169. 46:20We're done with this review. Thank you
1170. 46:22for stopping by. Um, I'm interested to
1171. 46:24see your comments. What do you actually
1172. 46:26What would you plug into this first? I
1173. 46:27asked something else in the middle that
1174. 46:29God knows. I have to rewatch all these
  1175. 46:30videos, by the way, because I don't
1176. 46:31remember anything I said. The script is
1177. 46:33not like written somewhere. It's in my
1178. 46:35brain. It just flows out. And when these
1179. 46:37videos are long, usually the length of a
1180. 46:40video directly corresponds to the cost
  1181. 46:42because I feel like if I did like a
  1182. 46:4418minute review of this for a $5,000
1183. 46:47unit, you got more to say, don't you?
  1184. 46:49Yeah. Yeah, I do. So, when the $11,400
1185. 46:53version with and I'm going to warn you,
  1186. 46:56I [ __ ] like it, but I'm going to do
1187. 46:58more testing cuz I want to put it on
1188. 46:59speakers because it has preouts for like
  1189. 47:01speaker. When I do that and I start
  1190. 47:03reviewing that, it's going to be like a
1191. 47:0414-hour long review because I have to
1192. 47:06like I have to make it make sense in my
  1193. 47:08[ __ ] head that this is $11,400
1194. 47:10unit. Anyway, thank you to Mimic Audio
1195. 47:13for loaning me his on the spot basically
  1196. 47:16purchased ODMA.
1197. 47:18Um you can also go to Mimic Audio to uh
  1198. 47:21get your erys 485
1199. 47:23remaining. Um we're going to see if we
1200. 47:25could sell out half of that stock. We'll
1201. 47:27order them again because if this takes
1202. 47:30too long, they might stop making the
1203. 47:32tooling for eras and that would be
1204. 47:34terrifyingly bad. Um, wallpaper and the
1205. 47:36wallpaper horde patron and subscribe
1206. 47:38star see early participate in yard
1207. 47:40sales. Get the loss of sound demos. Like
1208. 47:41I'm not selling this unit. I'm giving it
1209. 47:43back to TJ. So this video makes me
1210. 47:45nearly no money unless you click an
1211. 47:47affiliate link through Mimic, which
1212. 47:49thank you for doing that. the one
  1213. 47:51person, if there's 10,000 views in this
1214. 47:54video, I will be literally shocked if
1215. 47:57one or two people are like actually
1216. 47:59seriously considering. Are you out
1217. 48:00there? Are you watching this channel
1218. 48:02with the anime girls and the and the guy
  1219. 48:04saying [ __ ] all the time and calling
  1220. 48:06everyone [ __ ] Well, calling all his
  1221. 48:07headphones [ __ ] Are you here? Are
1222. 48:09you here buying this? Do you own one
1223. 48:10already? If you own one already and
1224. 48:12you're just kind of get your
  1225. 48:13confirmation bias, you're correct. It is
1226. 48:16an amazing unit. But uh yeah, good good.
  1227. 48:21It's 2026. [clears throat]
1228. 48:23I'm losing my voice and we need to move
1229. 48:26on. So yeah, check out my Patreon. Check
1230. 48:27out my subscribe start. Check out my
1231. 48:29collabs if you want to support the
1232. 48:30channel some other way. That being back
  1233. 48:33technically back. I bought 500 of them.
1234. 48:36Uh this we only have a couple of these
1235. 48:38left as of the recording of this before
  1236. 48:41we switch to a different thing. I'm not
1237. 48:43going to say what the thing is because
1238. 48:44Leo wants to make a big announcement
1239. 48:45about it, but those are currently $600
1240. 48:48off at like 1,400 bucks. Um, which is
1241. 48:51not expensive enough. Obviously, people
  1242. 48:54are interested in $5,000 units. So, I'm
1243. 48:56just going to stick one of these inside
  1244. 48:58of Valencia. We'll charge $6,500.
  1245. 49:01Good to go.
