- 0:11the NSA director was at a conference and
- 0:14he was asked a question about the NSA
- 0:17surveillance of Americans he replied and
- 0:19I quote here the story that we have
- 0:22millions or hundreds of millions of
- 0:24dossier on people is completely false
- 0:28the reason I'm asking the question is
- 0:30having served on the committee now for a
- 0:32dozen years I don't really know what a
- 0:35dossier is in this context so what I
- 0:39wanted to see is if you could give me a
- 0:41yes or no answer to the question does
- 0:44the NSA collect any type of data at all
- 0:48on millions or hundreds of millions of
- 0:51Americans no
- 0:53sir it does
- 0:56not not
- 0:58wittingly there are cases is where they
- 1:00could in inadvertently perhaps uh
- 1:03collect but not not wittingly all right
- 1:07thank you I'll have additional questions
- 1:09to give you in writing on that point but
- 1:10I thank you for the answer thank you
- 1:12very much
