Full transcript
- 0:00hello and welcome to the first video
- 0:02tutorial of this D Jango web framework
- 0:04course for beginners my name is Amir
- 0:06from be brace Channel and I will be your
- 0:08instructor for the upcoming videos
- 0:10throughout this course we will delve
- 0:12into various aspects of D Jango starting
- 0:14from the basics and gradually
- 0:16progressing towards more advanced topics
- 0:18and at the end of the course we're going
- 0:20to build a real life application like
- 0:22this one an inventory management system
- 0:25this final project will give you
- 0:27hands-on experience with Jango where
- 0:29we're going to use use function-based
- 0:30views and Implement clean and simple
- 0:33Styles our inventory management system
- 0:36will enable you to add products where
- 0:38you can enter the name of the product
- 0:40the stock keeping unit the price the
- 0:44quantity and of course the supplier once
- 0:46you're done from adding the product you
- 0:48can save that product and now you can
- 0:50have a list of the products saved on
- 0:52your website you have your product ID
- 0:55the name the SKU the price the quenti
- 0:57the supplier and the actions where you
- 0:59can actually update your product or if
- 1:01you want to delete it all together you
- 1:03can do that as well and you will be
- 1:05redirected to a confirmation message
- 1:07asking you if you want to delete this
- 1:09product if you're hesitant you can click
- 1:11on cancel you can go to the inventory
- 1:13app where you have your homepage you can
- 1:16display all of your products and again
- 1:19you can delete the product that you
- 1:20don't want this project is going to help
- 1:23you consolidate everything that you're
- 1:24going to learn in this course and see
- 1:26how it all comes together in a practical
- 1:29application and I just want to take a
- 1:30moment here to express my gratitude to
- 1:32net Ninja for giving me the incredible
- 1:34opportunity to become a host content
- 1:37creator it's a great pleasure indeed to
- 1:39be part of such an amazing team and I'm
- 1:41excited to bring you engaging and
- 1:42entertaining
- 1:44content now let's move to the
- 1:46prerequisites before diving into D Jango
- 1:49it's essential to have a good
- 1:51understanding of python so if you
- 1:53consider yourself an intermediate python
- 1:55programmer you'll find it easier to
- 1:57follow along with Jango additionally
- 1:59familiar with HTML and CSS is going to
- 2:02be very beneficial and even if you don't
- 2:04know python that's no problem at all
- 2:06because net ninja got you covered net
- 2:09ninja has a lot of Great Courses for
- 2:11python as well as HTML and CSS crash
- 2:15courses and in this first part I'm going
- 2:18to cover three main questions what is D
- 2:20Jango why is D Jango and what is mvt
- 2:25architecture so the first question is
- 2:27what is D Jango Jango is a p based web
- 2:30framework designed for Rapid development
- 2:32of efficient web applications it is
- 2:35often referred to as batteries included
- 2:38framework because it provides built-in
- 2:40features for various aspects of web
- 2:42development these features include the
- 2:45Django admin interface default database
- 2:47management system which is SQL light 3
- 2:50and many others streamlining the
- 2:52development process okay that's great
- 2:54and all but why using D Jango why not
- 2:57using any other web framework the first
- 3:00reason is rapid development D Jango
- 3:02enables the creation of fully-fledged
- 3:04web applications in a short time
- 3:07database flexibility while SQL light 3
- 3:10is the default database D jangu allows
- 3:13easy switching to other databases like
- 3:16psql or SQL Alchemy for example also you
- 3:20have built-in admin interface and this
- 3:22indeed simplifies administrative tasks
- 3:25related to website management and don't
- 3:28worry we're going to see all of that in
- 3:30practice and the last reason is
- 3:32extensive ecosystem so jeno has a vast
- 3:36collection of additional packages that
- 3:38are available for extended functionality
- 3:41which is if you think about it very
- 3:43handy for Rapid development so D Jango
- 3:46follows the model view template
- 3:49architecture mvt separates the logic of
- 3:52your application into three different
- 3:54components so the first component is the
- 3:57model if we're going to respect the VT
- 4:00order put by D Jango so the model in
- 4:03Django represents the data structure of
- 4:05your application it's your database
- 4:07essentially it defines the schema of
- 4:10your database tables and encapsulates
- 4:12the logic for interacting with the
- 4:14database now let's move to view a view
- 4:17simply is a python function or class
- 4:20that receives HTTP requests and returns
- 4:23HTTP responses so views are responsible
- 4:26for processing the incoming requests
- 4:29interacting with the database through
- 4:30models and preparing data to be rendered
- 4:33in a
- 4:34response and finally the template
- 4:37templates in Jango or HTML files that
- 4:39contain the structure of your
- 4:41application's user interface essentially
- 4:44and templates can include Place holders
- 4:46and template tags which are replaced
- 4:48with Dynamic content when rendered by D
- 4:50Jango D Jango uses the D Jango template
- 4:53language it's very similar to Ginger 2
- 4:55in flask for example okay now you've
- 4:58been introduced to the components of the
- 5:00mvt architecture let's see how it works
- 5:03so this is a diagram that shows you how
- 5:06the mvt actually works first of all the
- 5:09user interacts with the Jango
- 5:11application by sending HTTP requests to
- 5:14specific URLs these requests can be for
- 5:17various actions such as viewing a page
- 5:19submitting a form or performing some
- 5:22other operation and here comes the role
- 5:24of the view function or class which
- 5:27processes the request interacts with the
- 5:29database and prepares data to be
- 5:32rendered in the response so when the
- 5:34view interacts with the model to fetch
- 5:36data from the database it does so by
- 5:38using D jango's omm or object relational
- 5:42mapping an OM simply allows you to
- 5:45interact with database using python
- 5:48objects so instead of writing SQL
- 5:50queries directly you define your
- 5:52database structure using the python
- 5:55classes C models so instead of writing
- 5:58SQL queries directly you define your
- 6:00database structure using python classes
- 6:03which are models these models represent
- 6:05database tables and each attribute of
- 6:08the model class corresponds to a column
- 6:11in that table don't worry we're going to
- 6:13see that when we're going to practice
- 6:15the interaction between the view and the
- 6:17model not only for retrieving data but
- 6:20it also could be for creating updating
- 6:22or deleting records as needed so after
- 6:25processing the request and interacting
- 6:27with the database The View PRS data to
- 6:30be rendered in a response as you can see
- 6:32this data is typically passed to a
- 6:34template using the Django template
- 6:36language as I mentioned earlier the
- 6:38Django template language uses template
- 6:41tags and placeholders to dynamically
- 6:43generate HTML content and finally The
- 6:46View returns an HTTP response containing
- 6:48the HTML content generated by the
- 6:51template this response is sent back to
- 6:53the user's browser which then renders
- 6:56the page and displays it to the user I
- 6:59understand that everything might seem
- 7:00theoretical for now but once we dive
- 7:02deeper into D Jango and start practicing
- 7:05everything will begin to make sense and
- 7:07fall into place in the next video we're
- 7:09going to set up our environment install
- 7:11D Jango and create our first D Jango
- 7:14project
