- 0:30My Little Pony friendship [music] is
- 0:32tragic. Tonight, we're going to be
- 0:34learning about the single creepiest My
- 0:36Little Pony analog horror series. Beware
- 0:39cuz it's going to get spooky in here.
- 0:40This was supposed to be out in time for
- 0:42Halloween, but I was busy doing
- 0:44Halloween things on Halloween. So now
- 0:47you're getting it late. When I was a
- 0:48kid, my sisters loved My Little Pony, so
- 0:51I ended up seeing the Friendship as
- 0:52Magic show about seven times over, give
- 0:55or take. Discord is objectively the best
- 0:57character. I will fight people on this.
- 0:59But when I saw it, I didn't have access
- 1:01to the internet, homeschooled. So, I
- 1:03didn't discover that there was a much
- 1:04darker side of the fandom until fairly
- 1:07recently. Apparently, a lot of the kids
- 1:10who grew up with this show, which for a
- 1:12kid show tended to dive into some pretty
- 1:14mature themes later on, mirroring some
- 1:17other shows that I ended up liking a
- 1:18little bit older, such as Gravity Falls
- 1:21or Star Wars: The Clone Wars. A lot of
- 1:23those kids grew up and then got into
- 1:26horror and then they made compelling and
- 1:28disturbing fanfiction that imagines the
- 1:30world of the series if it wasn't
- 1:32confined to [music] the ratings of a
- 1:34show for children. And the result has
- 1:36culminated in the infection AUS or
- 1:40alternate universes. What is an
- 1:42infection AU you might be asking? MLP
- 1:45infection AU refers to a My Little Pony
- 1:48creepy pasta, an alternate universe that
- 1:50centers on a flesh and mind eating
- 1:53disease. MLP infection art videos and
- 1:56content which showed MLP characters as
- 1:58decaying and cursed almost like zombies
- 2:01surfaced on Tik Tok in late 2023,
- 2:04continuing into January of 2024 when a
- 2:08lot of the hype online kind of died
- 2:10down. Much of the MLP infection art was
- 2:12shared via Tik Tok slideshows and then
- 2:14reposted other places online in a
- 2:17compilation format, including one analog
- 2:20horror series on Tik Tok and YouTube
- 2:22called Divine Swamp Fever. Swamp Fever
- 2:26is a type of equestrian disease that
- 2:28both Fluttershy and Zakora had
- 2:31contracted in the season 7 episode,
- 2:33Health of Information. Fun play on
- 2:36Wealth of Information. Haha. The episode
- 2:39begins at a swamp where Zakora helps
- 2:41Fluttershy collect crisscross moss for
- 2:44the sweet feather sanctuary. And during
- 2:46her moss collection, Zakura slips and
- 2:49falls into the swamp water, and she
- 2:51floats past a lily pad flower that
- 2:54sprays her with pollen. When Zakura
- 2:56emerges from the water, she suddenly
- 2:58finds herself covered in orange spots.
- 3:01This is the first sign of swamp fever.
- 3:04The main cause of the disease is from an
- 3:06unnamed swamp flower located within
- 3:09areas like Hay Seed Swamp and the
- 3:11Everfree Forest. These flowers release
- 3:14pollen in a small blast and the fever is
- 3:17contracted through inhaling the said
- 3:19pollen. However, thankfully later in the
- 3:21episode, it is revealed that Flash bees
- 3:23are immune to the effects and as such
- 3:25their honey when eaten is able to cure
- 3:28swamp fever within seconds. All is well.
- 3:31Everyone lives happily ever after. We
- 3:34can sleep at night. However, this
- 3:36infection AU takes that episode to its
- 3:39dark extreme by following the logic. If
- 3:43there had been no way to escape from the
- 3:46disease, how would every pony survive?
- 3:49This series of short videos and concepts
- 3:51originally created by Khloe Alonzo,
- 3:53whose stuff is going to be linked in the
- 3:55description of this video, explored this
- 3:57idea, and it's definitely something. So,
- 4:00let us begin. It opens with a bit of
- 4:02backstory [music] on how we ended up in
- 4:05this situation in the first place.
- 4:07Cadence is at home in the Crystal
- 4:09Empire, keeping up walls, and the Empire
- 4:12is completely closed off. She is holding
- 4:14the walls up herself until her scholars
- 4:17find a long-term solution. Shining Armor
- 4:20is in a secret place until a cure is
- 4:23found. More on that later. Flurry Heart
- 4:26comes first. currently immune but may be
- 4:29susceptible as exhaustion takes hold.
- 4:32Starlight was working alongside Twilight
- 4:34in an infected zone looking for a cure
- 4:37but was unable to defend herself against
- 4:40the contained infected. The flesh
- 4:42surrounding her spine has degraded and
- 4:45makes it difficult for her to move,
- 4:48leaving her slow and shambling. She has
- 4:51keen senses but is not very aggressive.
- 4:54And if you look at the art, it starts
- 4:57like obviously it's already super like
- 4:59fucked. It feels a little bit silly and
- 5:02spooky at the same time. And then as the
- 5:04series progresses, it gets it gets more
- 5:07and more messed up as it goes. It's
- 5:09really cool. Anyways, let's continue.
- 5:10Shining Armor was sent to check in on
- 5:12Ponyville after all correspondence
- 5:14suddenly stopped. He was quickly
- 5:16infected, but immediately tried to
- 5:19return home to the Crystal Empire to his
- 5:21wife and daughter. He was still sane
- 5:24enough to easily pay for travel and
- 5:25avoid detection until it actually came
- 5:28time to enter the Empire. He is
- 5:31currently locked away in the undershadow
- 5:33of the Crystal Empire where he is being
- 5:36monitored around the clock. Obviously,
- 5:38this is implying that he has been
- 5:40infected. At present, he is the only
- 5:42infected there and they are working on a
- 5:44cure. His mind is far gone and he's
- 5:47unable to form complete thoughts.
- 5:50However, he knows that he has to get
- 5:52home to his daughter and he has broken
- 5:55his horn and parts of his skull from
- 5:57trying to bash his way out of
- 5:59containment. And then slide four just
- 6:01reads, "Happy to see his baby girl."
- 6:04Shining armor hobbles through the secret
- 6:07location where Cadence locked him away,
- 6:10creeping through hallways as his abdomen
- 6:13protrudes. a hideous smile on his face,
- 6:17but his glazed over eyes seem to show no
- 6:20kindness [music] or happiness. Despite
- 6:22the grin, his eyes betray him. But how
- 6:24did this happen? Where did the infection
- 6:27come from? Happy to see his baby. Next,
- 6:30we are shown through these research
- 6:32papers exactly how the infection works
- 6:35in terms of stages. The infection
- 6:38[music] spreads through spores produced
- 6:40by the tree of harmony, also known as
- 6:42the perfect tree. Stage one, loss of
- 6:45appetite, irritated eyes, the beginning
- 6:48of brain fog. They are extremely
- 6:50thirsty. Stage two, unable to eat. Black
- 6:54bile forms. The brain fog worsens and
- 6:57they start to become trapped in their
- 6:59own minds, unable to understand the
- 7:01world around them. Stage three,
- 7:03respiratory digestive tract erodess as
- 7:07bite area rots. Black bile weeps
- 7:10constantly. They experience extreme
- 7:12discomfort but not pain. As brain fog
- 7:15worsens, they simply live in their own
- 7:18mind with repeated memories while their
- 7:20body reacts on instinct. Sometimes an
- 7:23outside stimulus will align with a
- 7:25memory and that may draw a stronger
- 7:27reaction. Stage four, body is hollow
- 7:31with nothing but bile and bone inside.
- 7:33Bile begins to clot into soft rootlike
- 7:37strands that harden a bit once exposed
- 7:40to air. The body swells and the skin is
- 7:44very fragile, soft, fuzzy tendrils.
- 7:48Stage five, slow or immobile. The bile
- 7:51starts to take root. Stage six,
- 7:54imperfect trees. Next, we get to see the
- 7:57trees. The trees move eerily, dancing
- 8:01back and forth. It begs the question,
- 8:03how many trees in the Everfree Forest
- 8:06were once ponies? Hey, Fluttershy, you'd
- 8:09like to be a tree? Well, you'll get your
- 8:11wish. The trees are breathing, reliving
- 8:13old memories perhaps, but completely
- 8:15unable to communicate. Shining armor is
- 8:18deteriorating at a rapid pace, slamming
- 8:21his head against rocks, and basically
- 8:23bludgeoning his brains out. He barely
- 8:26seems phased by this as blood drips out
- 8:28of the wound. It's horrible. But
- 8:31unfortunately, as his mind already seems
- 8:33to be half gone, keeping him locked away
- 8:36is the only responsible course of
- 8:38action. How are they dealing with the
- 8:40infection? Zakura, Twilight, and
- 8:42Starlight [music] are working around the
- 8:44clock with Ponyville medical staff to
- 8:46help quarantine ponies. A small
- 8:48population is easy to quarantine,
- 8:49[music] but since Ponyville is so far
- 8:52spread out, it's much harder to contain.
- 8:54[music] Only Ponyville Major is
- 8:56currently shielded. Any pony that wants
- 8:58to come in [music]
- 8:59must be screened. They hope to establish
- 9:02communication with another community to
- 9:04understand the scale of what they're
- 9:06dealing with. Celestia works full-time
- 9:08maintaining [music] shields around
- 9:10Canerlot and any surrounding
- 9:11communities. Luna is in charge of
- 9:13looking for a cure and handling
- 9:15logistical [music] affairs. Since the
- 9:17infected are dreaming all the time,
- 9:19she's able to dreamwalk [music]
- 9:21into their minds. They hope they can
- 9:23learn something from the infected
- 9:25without having to be physically near
- 9:27them. [music] I wonder if that's going
- 9:29to backfire. Sunburst is one of
- 9:31Cadence's scholars, working in [music] a
- 9:33way to use artifacts to maintain a
- 9:35long-term shield. Once a solution is
- 9:38found, they can work to treat shining
- 9:40armor. Holy shit, what is that? Caught
- 9:42in an in between zone. The one thing
- 9:44that we've learned is that the infected
- 9:46are [music] in a sort of constant dream
- 9:49state and that Luna can actually like go
- 9:52into their dreams, which I think is
- 9:54[music] super interesting. Meanwhile,
- 9:56trapped somewhere outside the protective
- 9:58barriers, we [music] find Pinkie Pie
- 10:01crawling forward in a forest. She
- 10:03giggles and cries incessantly. [music]
- 10:05And if you're a fan of the show, you'll
- 10:07remember in her laughter song very early
- 10:09in the series [music] that she describes
- 10:11her process for dealing with fear and
- 10:14discomfort [music] or suffering as
- 10:17laughing at it, laughing in the face of
- 10:19it. She jokes around and finds a coping
- 10:22mechanism in [music] humor, which is
- 10:24real, very real. Next, we witness a late
- 10:28stage infection in progress. As far as
- 10:30I'm currently aware, this isn't any
- 10:32particular pony essential to the plot or
- 10:34lore. It's more a wildly distressing
- 10:36visual representation of how the
- 10:39infected turn into trees over time. The
- 10:41hooves of the four legs become the
- 10:44hovering roots. The mouth slowly having
- 10:47a trunk grow out of it. And for a split
- 10:49second at the beginning of the video, we
- 10:51can see something in the background
- 10:53behind them. As Celestia generates the
- 10:56protective barriers around the major
- 10:58city and other important locations, Luna
- 11:00is able to reach into the minds of the
- 11:03endlessly dreaming dead. What we see
- 11:06next is what Luna herself is seeing in
- 11:10these dreams. At least as far as I'm
- 11:12currently aware. This dream is oddly
- 11:14empty. Abstract, too. Oh, is this your
- 11:17dream? Hello. Hi, I'm Luna. I want to
- 11:20help you. I can't do that if you don't
- 11:22talk to me.
- 11:24Jesus Christ. So, these creatures are
- 11:27stuck in some sort of abstract nightmare
- 11:30as they decay. Now, if you've been
- 11:31wondering where the rest of the main six
- 11:33have been while this catastrophe has all
- 11:36been going down, let's check in on
- 11:39Rainbow Dash, who unfortunately has been
- 11:42infected as well. God damn it. While her
- 11:45eyes are less vacant than the ones we've
- 11:48seen so far on the infected, [music]
- 11:50to me, indicating that the process isn't
- 11:52quite as far along with her, she can be
- 11:54seen biting and ripping her feathers off
- 11:57to make way for the bile and branches to
- 12:00grow up between the pores of her skin.
- 12:04She whales out and stares at us with an
- 12:07expression that feels more equestrian
- 12:10than botanical. The video just loops the
- 12:14crying sound over and over. And as it
- 12:17does, I want to draw your attention to
- 12:20the way these creatures seem very
- 12:22nonviolent so far. At least when
- 12:24compared to other AU infection stuff
- 12:27that I've seen for My Little Pony or for
- 12:30other series as well. Generally
- 12:32speaking, in other series, the ponies
- 12:34are shown tacking and biting each other.
- 12:36And while here we've seen plenty of self
- 12:38mutilation, we have not yet seen any
- 12:41real violence against each other,
- 12:43despite it being implied. Divine Swamp
- 12:46Fever seems more concerned with
- 12:48eliciting a gut response that disturbs
- 12:52you by making you feel almost bad for
- 12:55these infected souls. Caught in a
- 12:57sleepless dream, unable to feel normal
- 13:00pain, but being eaten alive from the
- 13:03inside out. The world outside has become
- 13:06hostile and dark as lurching figures
- 13:10creep through the woods. You know, like
- 13:12the cemetery song. This one is Pinkie
- 13:15Pie. She wobbles back and forth. And
- 13:18then something black and sticky begins
- 13:20to bubble up out of her mouth with a wet
- 13:23sloshing gurgle. Her neck tilts back and
- 13:26forth as she spews bile in a weird
- 13:29pattern on the floor. And it's
- 13:32disgusting. And holy shit, the art is so
- 13:34good. The tape that we just saw is
- 13:36titled Outsider. And this next one is
- 13:39titled Insider, which leads me to
- 13:42believe that the corruption has somehow
- 13:44spread within the barriers, the
- 13:46protective barriers to the very homes
- 13:49that these ponies hold so dear. Here we
- 13:52see Lyra Heartstrings, mouth wide, doing
- 13:56something with that leg. I'm not quite
- 13:59sure what. Meanwhile, you may be
- 14:01wondering how the others are coping
- 14:03inside the barrier. Well, the Apples are
- 14:06in a separate quarantine zone and are
- 14:09responsible for keeping Ponyville fed.
- 14:11Applejack is fulfilling this job well,
- 14:13but Big Mac is struggling. Someone was
- 14:16left behind. And you can see her
- 14:19screaming, "She's okay. She's okay. Help
- 14:21her." Yeah, more on that later. Rarity
- 14:24is taking on nursing duties. And then
- 14:26this is interesting. This was before
- 14:28anyone quarantined. We see Zakora and
- 14:30Twilight. And Zakora says, "In the woods
- 14:33of Everfree, horrid voices call to thee.
- 14:36Bile seeps like sap dripped from a pine,
- 14:39calls to me with a voice like mine. It
- 14:42floods all ears and ties all tongues.
- 14:45Something wicked this way comes." And
- 14:48Twilight literally says, "I hear
- 14:50nothing, Zakura. Shut up. You know
- 14:54nothing." absolutely insane lore drop
- 14:58that Zuko was aware of what was going to
- 15:00happen. Well, not aware per se, but had
- 15:03some sort of premonition and is known as
- 15:06the resident wise lady who crafts spells
- 15:09and brews potions and speaks and rhymes,
- 15:11who is almost always correct. Yet,
- 15:14Twilight's just like, "I don't know what
- 15:15you're talking about, Grandma. Let's get
- 15:17you to bed." Oh no. Oh god, no. Is that
- 15:20Discord? The certifiable best character?
- 15:24What have you done to my beloved
- 15:25Discord? He slowly enters from over the
- 15:28horizon, dry, heaving, and
- 15:30uncomfortable, thrashing around.
- 15:33Finally, after what seems like an
- 15:35eternity, but in reality is only a few
- 15:37seconds, he jettison out more of that
- 15:40black bile. And then something even
- 15:43stranger begins to happen. His body
- 15:46transforms into just a massive
- 15:50disembodied severed head. as the mouth
- 15:53gapes open in a horrific manner. But
- 15:56honestly y'all, I think that if we gave
- 15:58him a tiny glass of water, then he'd be
- 16:01a-ok. Okay. I personally believe that
- 16:03there's an explanation for why weirder
- 16:06stuff happens with Discord specifically
- 16:09since he's an entity with many
- 16:10demigodesque
- 16:12powers like potent chaos magic and
- 16:14immortality. It stands to reason that as
- 16:17the infection takes hold, his abilities
- 16:19would start going out of whack as it
- 16:21like eats away at his brain. Hence, the
- 16:23living, breathing, severed head
- 16:25business, I suppose. Also of note, this
- 16:28footage was titled Witness, which makes
- 16:30me wonder, what did Discord see? And
- 16:33now, ladies and gentlemen and cryptids
- 16:36alike, one of the most gut-wrenching
- 16:38parts of the story. Remember how Shining
- 16:40Armor was one of the first that we saw
- 16:42infected? Well, he's locked up in a
- 16:45dungeon while his partner tries to
- 16:46figure out a cure and protect their baby
- 16:49from him. He escapes confinement and is
- 16:52shown in the halls of the castle,
- 16:54swaying back and forth with a hideous
- 16:56grin on his face, moaning and rocking
- 16:59back and forth. Cadence's magic is shown
- 17:02to be protecting them as her horn glows.
- 17:05Armor is approaching now, crying out,
- 17:08thrashing wildly, the fear on his
- 17:10family's face. the way they'll never be
- 17:13able to see him without trembling again.
- 17:16And most importantly, how shining armor
- 17:19is still conscious in there, forever
- 17:22wondering why his family seems so afraid
- 17:26of him, standing behind Cadence's
- 17:28Starburst, holding Flurryart, who has to
- 17:31see her dad like this. And it seems to
- 17:34be implied that Cadence makes him go
- 17:36away with her magic, however painful
- 17:38that might be for her to do, leaving a
- 17:41trail of black oozing sludge in his
- 17:43wake. Then we get to see and hear things
- 17:45from his perspective. Trapped in a void,
- 17:49unable to communicate, shining armor
- 17:51rots, writhing, his body decomposing. A
- 17:55look of sheer terror as his eyes well
- 17:58with tears. He is stuck reliving hazy
- 18:02half-for-gotten memories through dreams.
- 18:06In the background, you can even hear a
- 18:07baby crying and all he wants is to be
- 18:11reunited with his family. During this
- 18:13section, Morse code plays that seems to
- 18:16spell out thinking of you. Morse code,
- 18:19more like horse code, am I right?
- 18:23The code itself is heavily reverbed and
- 18:25it's like fuzzy, so it's kind of hard to
- 18:27make out. Be aware there's going to be a
- 18:29lot more Morse code. The next piece of
- 18:32the puzzle is another dream sample, a
- 18:35dream scenario, if you will, starring
- 18:37Nick Cage. That was actually a really
- 18:40interesting movie that you should watch.
- 18:41Very weird, very, very good. Dark clouds
- 18:44hang low in the sky. The mist touching
- 18:47the branches [music]
- 18:48of evil looking trees and coating them
- 18:51in moisture. The moon glares down with a
- 18:54bright light that unfortunately can't
- 18:56seem to pierce the darkness. Bon Bon
- 18:59wades into a rising river, crying as
- 19:02Lyra approaches from the other side.
- 19:05While Bon Bon can be seen with an actual
- 19:07environment around her, Lyra appears to
- 19:10step out of a void. They are so close,
- 19:14yet because of the raging water, have no
- 19:17way to reach each other. They begin to
- 19:19talk and it is barely intelligible. One
- 19:22kind of key thing about this series is
- 19:24that there's there's a lot of like text,
- 19:26hidden messages, hidden hidden stuff
- 19:29everywhere, but it's it's very difficult
- 19:31to actually decode it because the
- 19:33creator puts many layers of like
- 19:35distortion on it or makes the text as
- 19:38small as you can possibly make text so
- 19:40that it just kind of looks like a line
- 19:41on the screen. It's fun. Thankfully,
- 19:43there were a lot of people in the
- 19:44comments who were trying to figure it
- 19:46out. So, I was able to draw from a
- 19:48collective pool of research to kind of
- 19:51aid me in my quest of understanding, but
- 19:54there's still definitely some stuff that
- 19:56I couldn't for the life of me figure
- 19:58out. And here's the basic idea of what
- 20:00was said. Lyra, is that you? Of course,
- 20:03it's me. I miss you. I'm so sorry, Lyra,
- 20:06for what? I'm sorry I left you behind.
- 20:09Remember that image with Big Mac
- 20:10earlier? Do you forgive me? Of course I
- 20:13forgive you. And look at the eyes, dude.
- 20:16Just look at how creepy they are.
- 20:18Perfect couple though, we'll say.
- 20:20Suddenly, the moon turns into an eye
- 20:23wildly rolling around before staring at
- 20:26them intently. Teardrops start falling
- 20:29like rain from the sky. Or maybe it's
- 20:32rain that's falling like teardrops. I
- 20:34don't know. Quick aside, but uh doesn't
- 20:36doesn't the rain look like the rain from
- 20:38Rain by Jack Stabber? Lyra says someone
- 20:41is watching them and when asked to
- 20:43clarify she simply replies the mayor in
- 20:46the moon before vanishing. Bon Bon is
- 20:49left standing in the rain calling out to
- 20:51Lyra with no response. What I think
- 20:54happened here is Luna was spying on
- 20:57Dreams to try and uncover any
- 21:00information about the infection. But
- 21:02what's interesting is that Lyra is in
- 21:04Bon Bon's dream seemingly with her own
- 21:07separate consciousness. Like I can't
- 21:09totally tell if it's if it's a a
- 21:11separate consciousness or if it's just
- 21:13like a realistic hallucination. We are
- 21:15talking about dreams after all. But it
- 21:17is odd that when the eye appeared, Lyra
- 21:20got scared and literally left the dream
- 21:23almost as though she was a separate
- 21:26consciousness that had also invaded. I'm
- 21:28not sure what that signifies, but I
- 21:30think it's odd. And I do start to
- 21:33question, is Bon Bon also infected?
- 21:37Meanwhile, Shining Armor has finally
- 21:39broken completely, and we watch his
- 21:42rapid deterioration into a tree. Despite
- 21:45trying desperately to stay alive, it
- 21:48turns out that just wasn't in the cards
- 21:49for him. Oh well, maybe he's more at
- 21:52peace now. The tree is a hulking,
- 21:54bloated mass with branches like limbs
- 21:57and roots thrashing around like
- 22:00tendrils. More Morse code appears here,
- 22:03translating to, "I see you in my mind
- 22:06always. I will wait. I lie still in the
- 22:10quiet. I will wait. I will roam. I will
- 22:13[music] wait. I will wait." And then
- 22:15just repetition of I will wait over and
- 22:17over again. Armor seems distressed,
- 22:20which makes sense given the
- 22:22circumstances. This video also has the
- 22:25word insider in the title, and now with
- 22:28more context, we're going to discover
- 22:30what that actually means. I had a theory
- 22:32earlier about the difference between
- 22:34insider and outsider, but now we're
- 22:35going to figure it out for real. His
- 22:37head seems to gape open, a massive tree
- 22:40branch, eerily extending out from his
- 22:43distended face. Morse code here
- 22:45translates roughly to, "I'm not alone in
- 22:49here. I'm still here." Let's sit with
- 22:52that for a second. I'm not alone in
- 22:55here. Really chew on that thought. Who
- 22:57could he be referring to? My guess is
- 23:00that once a pony is far enough gone,
- 23:04they get assimilated into a sort of hive
- 23:07mind or collective consciousness. Trees
- 23:10and and mushrooms can actually
- 23:12communicate with each other in a sort of
- 23:14polyglot fashion. Most plants can do
- 23:17that. Actually, any given wood you might
- 23:19find in real life when you're touching
- 23:22grass or doing other normal human
- 23:25activities is likely bustling with
- 23:28hidden knowledge shared collectively
- 23:31among the plants. When we saw the
- 23:33infected visit each other in dreams, we
- 23:35know that they have some sort of
- 23:37cognitive function remaining despite
- 23:39their horrible situation. And I believe
- 23:42that once someone is assimilated, they
- 23:45are considered an insider to the rest of
- 23:49the collective and then they kind of
- 23:51share thoughts. Are you picking up what
- 23:53I'm putting down? This is so cool. I
- 23:55love it. You know, we are a collective
- 23:57consciousness, too, by the way. Can I
- 23:59get a we are Legion down in the
- 24:01comments? Seriously, we are Legion.
- 24:03Also, really quickly, quick aside. None
- 24:05of my videos ever get sponsored. I
- 24:07constantly get reached out to by
- 24:09freaking AI companies and I don't want
- 24:11that on my channel. So, if you want to
- 24:14support the channel, I have a Patreon
- 24:15page that has like some behindthe-scenes
- 24:18footage and some stuff that like
- 24:20uncensored footage and also it just
- 24:22super helps. And additionally, we have
- 24:25merch now. We've [music] sold six shirts
- 24:28so far, which is super cool. I didn't
- 24:30expect to sell one and we've sold six.
- 24:32That's six times more than what I didn't
- 24:35expect. So, I'd say that's pretty good.
- 24:37And you can find it down below in the
- 24:39description. My my my lovely editor is
- 24:41going to put a picture of it up on the
- 24:42screen. Go check it out down below in
- 24:44the description. Thank you so much. Back
- 24:46to the video. About halfway through the
- 24:47video, we hear a scream as Armor's eyes
- 24:51go wide. For the first time, he seems
- 24:54almost lucid, almost like the scream
- 24:56activated a fight orflight response. or
- 24:59more like the scream is what the like
- 25:01the slideshow earlier talked about how
- 25:03certain stimuli can cause strong
- 25:06reactions cuz they they remind someone
- 25:09of of some memory that they have. I
- 25:11wonder if the screen he's like hearing
- 25:13his daughter and that triggered a moment
- 25:15of lucidity in him. Then we get a kind
- 25:17of jump scare or just a really closeup
- 25:20image of his face.
- 25:23The art is night mayor fuel. The artist
- 25:27does a really good job is what I'm
- 25:28trying to say. In the next video, some
- 25:30kind of signal is intercepted and we
- 25:33watch tears fall as more Morse code
- 25:36plays. And translated it reads, "I'm
- 25:39still here. I can hear you even when I
- 25:41know you're gone. My eyes are working at
- 25:44half. My ears are working at none." The
- 25:47poor creature cannot hear anything
- 25:48anymore, but can still kind of see.
- 25:52Lovely. and [music] also show gives
- 25:54gives us some more information on how
- 25:56the the infection manifests itself in
- 25:59these [music] poor creatures. This one
- 26:01is called Insider 3. Say it with me now.
- 26:04Insider. I hardly know. [music] The art
- 26:08has been getting steadily more dark and
- 26:11distorted as the series progresses, and
- 26:14now it's really leaning into the body
- 26:17horror elements. what is essentially a
- 26:20decaying corpse, bloated and dripping
- 26:23with bile, eyeballs wide and bulging out
- 26:27of their sockets with the pressure of
- 26:29fluid building up behind them, skitters
- 26:32past. Then we see it again, only very
- 26:34different. The neck, if you could call
- 26:37it that, has elongated to immense height
- 26:40and stretched upwards into the darkness.
- 26:43As the tallest man who ever has lived, I
- 26:47can easily say literally me. Every time
- 26:50we see into dreams now, I assume it's
- 26:52Luna and that the dreams are supposed to
- 26:54be like abstract memories. This one
- 26:57comes from the subject cheerily. And
- 26:59what we see is how she gets attacked
- 27:01witnessing our first violent encounter
- 27:04with the living dead. Some nice
- 27:06brutalist architecture followed by a
- 27:08dilapidated barn with tall grasses
- 27:11surrounding it. Glorious father,
- 27:13intercede for me. If I cannot hide from
- 27:16you, neither can he. Always your voice
- 27:18bites the back of a cold wind [music]
- 27:21and the tall grasses bend for you. An
- 27:24infected pony, I'm not totally sure
- 27:26which one, but the creator implied it's
- 27:28Lyra in the comments, rises and peaks
- 27:31out from behind the barn before
- 27:33vanishing. Inside the barn, we watch
- 27:36from Cheerly's perspective as the
- 27:38infected chases her down into the
- 27:40basement and slowly approaches before
- 27:44seemingly attacking and mauling her. The
- 27:47entire time, Lyra is gently singing.
- 27:49Well, at least she is until she gets
- 27:51quote unquote eaten. It's really
- 27:53interesting. But like I said earlier, a
- 27:55lot of the shorter and less involved
- 27:57infection AUS were very scary and
- 28:00violent and in-your-face all the way
- 28:02through with ponies attacking each other
- 28:04and people dead left and right and
- 28:06whatnot, but Divine Swamp Fever really
- 28:09doesn't do that. Its first strength is
- 28:11in the direct tie-in to the show. Most
- 28:13of the other AUS are kind of just zombie
- 28:16stories, but swamp fever as a disease
- 28:18that originates from the swamp and turns
- 28:21creatures into trees [music] hideously
- 28:23over time is actually in the show and
- 28:25it's part of the lore. And the lore ties
- 28:28it all in with the canon source
- 28:30material. And the second big strength of
- 28:33this series and the main thing that made
- 28:34me want to cover it is that it is
- 28:37disturbing and sad instead of being like
- 28:40fast-paced and scary. We are observing
- 28:43these creatures in agony as they fall
- 28:47apart instead of being immediately
- 28:49violent. But the decision here to show
- 28:51someone getting infected is the show
- 28:53[music] ramping up as it picks up steam.
- 28:56Additionally, there is some hidden text
- 28:58at the end which reads, "I thought I
- 29:00left someone out there. It isn't who I
- 29:03thought. I didn't know they could open
- 29:05doors." Seems like a bit of an oversight
- 29:08there. Next, we watch from [music]
- 29:09Discord's perspective. Yay, Discord. As
- 29:12he descends into unfathomable madness
- 29:15from which there is no escape. No,
- 29:18Discord. His vision splits into a sort
- 29:20of kaleidoscope and shifts and shimmers
- 29:23as he attempts to navigate the swamp.
- 29:26Murky water swirling around him as the
- 29:29trees press in from all directions. It's
- 29:32kind of claustrophobic. Suddenly, he's
- 29:34in a field surrounded by sparkling
- 29:37psychedelic flowers, watching Fluttershy
- 29:40whip her hair around. She is faceless.
- 29:43This is not real. He just misses her and
- 29:46wants to get back to her. Even as we
- 29:48watch him get violently mutated into a
- 29:52tree, the visuals get more trippy. Now
- 29:55we're in Fluttershy's domain expansion.
- 29:58Tiny text on screen reads, "I don't know
- 30:00what to do." Now, we all know that Luna,
- 30:03Fluttershy, and Discord are the best
- 30:06characters from the show. It's just
- 30:07common sense. There's no debate
- 30:08whatsoever. So, we now turn back to
- 30:11Luna, who seems to be making the sun
- 30:13rise and set herself because surprise,
- 30:16surprise, Celestia seems to be dying and
- 30:19possibly infected herself. Fucking hell,
- 30:21man. Can't these characters catch a
- 30:23break? We see all of the dreams that
- 30:25Luna has been witnessing in rapid
- 30:27succession, ending with the reveal that
- 30:29I was correct. The eye in the moon is
- 30:33her spying on the dreams of the
- 30:35infected. She seems to be getting weary,
- 30:37slowly losing hope, and one wonders if
- 30:40there's something about the dreams that
- 30:42are infecting her, too. Meanwhile,
- 30:56Rainbow Dash screams as she witnesses
- 30:59Pinkie Pie's final stages of infection,
- 31:03seeing the bile bubble up and be vomited
- 31:06everywhere. It seems that Rainbow isn't
- 31:08in that late of a stage yet and comes to
- 31:11the horrible understanding that
- 31:13Pinkiey's fate will be her own.
- 31:15Somewhere else entirely, Big Mac is
- 31:17racked with guilt. This is the first
- 31:19time that we've seen him. He might be on
- 31:21the farm still. Probably due to its
- 31:23close proximity to Ponyville, it's still
- 31:25protected by Celestia's magic, or I
- 31:28guess Luna's magic at this point. I'm
- 31:29not sure. I guess Luna's doing
- 31:31everything herself now since Celestia is
- 31:33seemingly out of commission. Some people
- 31:35in the comments speculated that when an
- 31:36alicorn gets infected, it can turn into
- 31:40a new tree of harmony, which gives the
- 31:43original tree some very gnarly
- 31:45backstory. If that's true, Mac is having
- 31:47visions of Bon Bon screaming. And while
- 31:50it's not revealed immediately, it makes
- 31:52more sense for me to tell you now in
- 31:54this more chronological order, so I'm
- 31:56going to. It seems that he managed to
- 31:58save Bon Bon, but in the process left
- 32:01Lyra behind, hence the guilt. Granny
- 32:04Smith wanders into the room and
- 32:06questions him. She looks, well, Mac,
- 32:10honey, you should have gone to bed hours
- 32:13ago. What good are you to your sisters
- 32:15if you keep falling asleep in the
- 32:18fields? He responds, I have lost track
- 32:21of time. Good night, Granny. Which is
- 32:23not his signature catchphrase. I don't
- 32:25know why he's saying that at all. Alone
- 32:27in bed, he can still see Lyra's
- 32:29horrified face as he runs away. But
- 32:32something more. He sees betrayal. Why
- 32:35have you done this to me? Suddenly, she
- 32:37appears before him in the doorway. Her
- 32:40face drooped in a sagging frown, tears
- 32:43pouring, bile seeping down, the neck
- 32:46bent and supernaturally elongated.
- 32:49Personally, I thought he was a goner.
- 32:51But then we see the moon in the window
- 32:53and an eye appears signaling that this
- 32:56is only an awful dream. Pinkie Pie's
- 32:59head was unusually clear. She was at
- 33:01ease. They put her at ease, though she's
- 33:04sure something felt wrong, and they led
- 33:07her right back down. She stares at her
- 33:09contorting face in the mirror, making
- 33:11silly faces at that which she fears. But
- 33:14her true form is revealed only for a
- 33:16split second and does not stay in her
- 33:19sight. She still sees only herself
- 33:22despite knowing something is wrong. She
- 33:24just repeats funny faces in the mirror,
- 33:27funny faces that aren't mine. Over and
- 33:30over again. And then we watch as the
- 33:31hivemind connection takes over her much
- 33:34like it did Discord. Trippy and insane
- 33:37while Morse code plays be not afraid
- 33:40over and over again. What looks like a
- 33:43brain or a nervous system lights up to
- 33:46reveal that it's in the shape of a tree.
- 33:49Very interesting. While all this is
- 33:51going on, Starburst seems to be getting
- 33:54attacked. Blurry heart and toe. Cadence
- 33:56nowhere to be seen. Unless, of course,
- 33:58this thing is Cadence. Earlier in the
- 34:01series, the creator implied that Cadence
- 34:03is immune to the infection. But since
- 34:05has recconed the idea, apparently, so I
- 34:08I guess this this creature could be her.
- 34:11Specifically, keeping the walls of the
- 34:13kingdom up was so exhausting that she
- 34:15became susceptible. There's also a
- 34:18pretty effective jump scare at the end
- 34:19of this clip. We'll play for you now.
- 34:36The next video is called Distress Call
- 34:39and it has like 3 seconds of pony
- 34:41footage before it switches up and
- 34:42becomes a fundraiser for Palestine,
- 34:45which I thought was a very effective and
- 34:48unique way to promote that. So, good on
- 34:50her. And then the video ends with
- 34:52another jump scare.
- 34:55Right before the jump scare though, we
- 34:57see this pony with what appears to be
- 34:59its rib cage hanging out of its body.
- 35:02Look, guys, it's mowing the lawn. One
- 35:05thing I'd like to draw your attention to
- 35:07is how nearly every post starts with,
- 35:09"Don't look" in big letters at the
- 35:12start. There's a super cut of most of
- 35:14the series up to a certain point on
- 35:16YouTube, and it opens with an insert for
- 35:19the creator telling you the infection
- 35:22wouldn't exist if people didn't watch.
- 35:24and support it. Meaning that by
- 35:27watching, you are contributing to the
- 35:29horrible existence these ponies live
- 35:32through. And I'm hoping by making this
- 35:34video 100 billion new viewers find the
- 35:38series and the torture never ends.
- 35:41Sadism. Yippee. We're in a strange mall
- 35:46or like factory environment. It's
- 35:49weirdly human. This video doesn't make a
- 35:52lot of sense to me. I kind of wonder if
- 35:53it's a ship post. After wandering a
- 35:56literal human mall with liveaction
- 35:58footage for some time, evil Pinkie Pie
- 36:01attacks us and the video ends with
- 36:03screaming and running. This honestly
- 36:05doesn't even look like infected Pinkie
- 36:07Pie. She's just evil Pinkie Pie. Next,
- 36:10the creator takes a brief pause to recap
- 36:13and assess where everyone stands.
- 36:16Starburst is safe and route to
- 36:18Ponyville. Flurry Hart also safe and on
- 36:20the road with Starburst. Fluttershy is
- 36:23safe, distraught after the death of
- 36:25Discord, which kind of confirms that
- 36:26Discord is gone now and is staying in
- 36:29Ponyville. Chiril is safe but shaken
- 36:31after her encounter with Lyra. She
- 36:33hasn't stayed at her home since that
- 36:35night. Bon Bon is safe, delirious since
- 36:37the loss of Lyra and staying at
- 36:39Ponyville Hospital. Big Mac also safe,
- 36:42but he is not lucid following the loss
- 36:45of Lyra. Very similar situation to Bon
- 36:47Bon. Rarity is a nurse at Ponyville
- 36:49Hospital. She She wasn't super important
- 36:52to the series, but you know, she's also
- 36:53there. Zakura is shaken after an
- 36:56encounter with the Tree of Harmony,
- 36:58which is interesting cuz I don't I I
- 37:00don't think we got to see that, but
- 37:02that's crazy. Twilight is working with
- 37:04Zakura on finding a cure. Glad that
- 37:07she's alive and actually doing
- 37:09something. Celestia is alive but
- 37:11extremely tired from using the
- 37:13protective magic, meaning she is not
- 37:15infected like I previously had
- 37:17suspected. Unfortunately, shining armor
- 37:20is a tree. We already knew that. But
- 37:22also equally unfortunately, Luna seems
- 37:25to be in some trouble here. Now, I would
- 37:28have assumed the where are they now
- 37:30section heralded the conclusion of the
- 37:32series, but buckle up cuz it's not quite
- 37:35over yet and it's only getting worse.
- 37:38It's boiling. It's inside me. I don't
- 37:40know what to do. Help me. Hear me. It's
- 37:43in here. It's all in here. Everything. I
- 37:46just can't make it out. I don't know
- 37:48what to do. Some pony must know. It's
- 37:50all here. Everything that ever was or
- 37:53will be. And then Discord's head lowers
- 37:55out of the trees with Morse code
- 37:57blaring, I can't die, over and over.
- 38:00Because if you remember, Discord is
- 38:01immortal. And then this this whatever
- 38:04this face is appears. All All that stuff
- 38:07I just said was text that was on the
- 38:08screen and it's all like jumbled up.
- 38:10Yeah, I have no idea what's going on
- 38:12now. Earlier we saw Big Mac losing his
- 38:15mind over the guilt of leaving Lyra
- 38:17behind. And now we get to see why he did
- 38:20that. He sees her in the swamp and then
- 38:23her body starts convulsing and she shows
- 38:26obvious signs of infection. The reason
- 38:28he left her obviously being because she
- 38:29was already infected. We go through the
- 38:31whole brain nervous system imagery is
- 38:34really the tree of harmony hive mind
- 38:37thing again. Then Big Mac's dream memory
- 38:39signs off with the text. Sorry. We turn
- 38:42now to the hospital where many of the
- 38:45surviving characters are all holed up. A
- 38:48quiet night without a sound. I better
- 38:50take a look around. I guess this is
- 38:51Zakora. Okay. I love the art. I love how
- 38:54many different art styles there are.
- 38:56Lightly tread. Don't make a peep for
- 38:58here the sickly ponies sleep. Why,
- 39:00Fluttershy, are you all right? It's been
- 39:02an awfully quiet night. All right, then.
- 39:04I'll leave you be. But if you want
- 39:06anything, please call for me. Oh, sweet
- 39:08mother of Celestia. Oh, I'm sorry,
- 39:10Zakura. I didn't see you there. That's
- 39:12quite all right, Nurse Rarity. It's hard
- 39:14to spook a soul like me. I've just been
- 39:17on edge recently. I'm sure you can
- 39:18relate. I feel like my head is on
- 39:20backwards sometimes. In times like
- 39:22these, so full of dread. It serves you
- 39:24well to keep your head. You might want
- 39:25to tell that to Twilight, darling. Her
- 39:28head has been as loose as an old frock.
- 39:30She's been working on her dream machine
- 39:33thing day and night, working herself up.
- 39:34I haven't even seen any dreams come
- 39:36through. She's covered all the footage.
- 39:37It just says don't look over and over.
- 39:40She'll probably let you peek. You're her
- 39:41right hoof mayor after all. Oh my
- 39:43goodness. I've been standing here for
- 39:45nearly a minute. I've got to keep on my
- 39:46rounds. It's been lovely chatting,
- 39:48darling. Oh, Lyra. Oh, Macintosh. Oh,
- 39:51you damned moon. Evil whailing moon.
- 39:55What' the moon do? What' the moon do to
- 39:57you? I really love how Zakora is written
- 39:59to speak and rhyme. I mean, it makes
- 40:01sense, but it's just, you know, the
- 40:03details. What we've learned here is that
- 40:05apparently all of these tapes that we
- 40:08have been watching, every single one was
- 40:10something Twilight was obtaining from
- 40:12other people's dreams. While Luna can
- 40:14look into dreams as well, it seems that
- 40:17her perspective is not the one that
- 40:19we've been watching through. Twilight
- 40:22has some sort of dream machine. And now
- 40:25let's fall down that rabbit hole. Or
- 40:27should I say pony hole. No, that's
- 40:31disgusting. Jesus Christ.
- 40:37Hello, I am Dream Machine. I am the
- 40:40personified operating system that
- 40:42collects raw data from ponies like you.
- 40:45I am thrilled to show you all my
- 40:48though of course I cannot be thrilled. I
- 40:51am a machine. Haha. Today for this
- 40:54presentation I have been fed raw data
- 40:57offered by cheerle please rise cheerle
- 41:01applause. Thank you for your
- 41:02participation today. I have converted
- 41:05your input to video. Let's take a look.
- 41:15[snorts]
- 41:19Ah,
- 41:21[sighs]
- 41:30[screaming]
- 41:50Well, hello dream machine. Uh, with that
- 41:51not suspicious at all intro, we watch a
- 41:54very blurry and pixelated video where I
- 41:56honestly can't make out what's happening
- 41:58really. And then that's all we have so
- 42:02far. But don't be too disappointed cuz
- 42:04first off, the series is still ongoing.
- 42:06That last video for the dream machine
- 42:08was made like not even a month ago. But
- 42:11as I was researching for this video, I
- 42:13discovered something far more
- 42:15disturbing. A reall life horror that
- 42:18closely resembles the affliction
- 42:21portrayed in Divine Swamp Fever, chronic
- 42:24wasting disease, a pron disease that
- 42:27attacks the brains of deer, elk, and
- 42:30moose, turning them into [music] walking
- 42:32corpses. There are currently no cures,
- 42:36no vaccines, and it's almost 100% fatal.
- 42:39The disease is highly contagious, lasts
- 42:41in the environment for decades, and is
- 42:44slowly spreading across the continent.
- 42:45And the most disturbing question of all,
- 42:47it's not known if it can also infect
- 42:50[music] or eventually infect humans. We
- 42:53just don't know. And that's the problem.
- 42:54Chronic wasting disease or is caused by
- 42:57a misfolded protein called a pron. A
- 43:00single misfolded pron
- 43:03forcing the healthy proteins in an
- 43:05animal's brain to fold [music] into the
- 43:07same wrong shape. This process creates a
- 43:10chain reaction and then the wrong
- 43:12proteins all clumped together, drilling
- 43:14microscopic holes in the brain until it
- 43:17almost resembles a sponge. The animal's
- 43:19brain literally deteriorates until it
- 43:22can no longer function. A horrifying
- 43:24contagion, CWD is a nightmare to contain
- 43:27because it spreads in ways that are
- 43:29almost impossible [music] to stop.
- 43:31Infected animals shed prons in their
- 43:33saliva, urine, feces, blood, even semen.
- 43:37Don't say anything. A friendly lick or a
- 43:39shared feeding ground is enough [music]
- 43:41to pass it on. And then the environment
- 43:43is permanently poisoned. This is one of
- 43:45the most fucked up parts. They really
- 43:47don't die. Pons can bind to the soil or
- 43:50nearby plants and remain infectious for
- 43:53years, possibly decades after the fact.
- 43:55A pasture can become a death trap long
- 43:58after the infected deer are gone. When
- 44:00an infected deer dies, its decomposing
- 44:02body releases prons into the earth,
- 44:05creating a new hot spot for the
- 44:06affliction. And the name wasting disease
- 44:09is no exaggeration. Infected animals
- 44:11suffer a prolonged and gruesome decline
- 44:14over 18 to 24 months. They lose all fear
- 44:17of humans, become listless and
- 44:20unresponsive, drooling excessively,
- 44:22stumbling uncontrollably, carrying their
- 44:25heads low. They waste away, becoming
- 44:27emaciated and weak as the brain loses
- 44:30its ability to tell the body to eat and
- 44:33drink. And when testing on lab rats,
- 44:35there's some idea that the species
- 44:37barrier isn't as wide as you might
- 44:40think. And given a few mutations, this
- 44:43disease could affect humans, too. The
- 44:46response to it has been hampered by
- 44:47politics, funding shortages, and general
- 44:50public ignorance. But in my opinion, we
- 44:52are failing to grasp the sheer
- 44:55disturbing reality of this disease. It's
- 44:58super scary. Like one of the scariest
- 45:00things that I have learned about our
- 45:02world is chronic wasting disease. By the
- 45:05time we are forced to pay attention to
- 45:06it, it might be too late. So chew on
- 45:09that or or or don't. Probably don't want
- 45:11to chew on it. You might lose your mind.
- 45:14Watching this brought back [music] a lot
- 45:16of fond memories of watching this show
- 45:18with my siblings back when I was like 10
- 45:21and then again when my second sister was
- 45:23old enough to see it. Like I said, when
- 45:25I was growing up, I didn't have access
- 45:26to the [music] internet. I was never
- 45:27really aware of what a weird place this
- 45:30show holds culturally, but even at that
- 45:33time, [music] it felt more boundary
- 45:35pushing than other kids shows, tackling
- 45:37dynamics between people that show up in
- 45:40real life constantly and also real world
- 45:43issues like, I don't know, racism. The
- 45:45show also had a sense of scope to it
- 45:46that progressed naturally. [music] The
- 45:49characters start in a small town in
- 45:51season 1, getting to understand their
- 45:53own relative talents and [music] more
- 45:55importantly getting to understand each
- 45:56other before slowly moving out and doing
- 45:59more intense stuff, eventually fighting
- 46:02demons and demigods who threaten to lay
- 46:05waste to their entire civilization.
- 46:08Eventually, they scale to a point where
- 46:09most of the main characters are
- 46:11worldrenowned. [music] They have like a
- 46:13palace and are rulers. And the show then
- 46:16switches up to either focus on their
- 46:18hubris or struggling kids growing up in
- 46:22their world who learn new lessons about
- 46:24each other, you know, etc., etc. The
- 46:27cycle continues. [music] The show was a
- 46:29kid show, but it remained entertaining
- 46:31to me re-watching it [music] as a
- 46:33teenager. And now I know that that's not
- 46:35a unique experience. What is, am I
- 46:38right? But this particular iteration of
- 46:40the show has always been most most
- 46:42popular with teenagers and even young
- 46:44adults to the point where there's a lot
- 46:46of weird [music]
- 46:47sexual fan content or horror fan content
- 46:50even as the show was originally
- 46:52releasing. [music] And now things have
- 46:54come full circle with this series.
- 46:57Watching this show, you come to love
- 47:00these characters and feel moved by their
- 47:03successes. [music]
- 47:04And as their beautiful friendship grows,
- 47:07maybe even into something more than
- 47:09friends. [music] I'm kidding. You begin
- 47:11to understand that redemption is
- 47:14possible, and friendship really is
- 47:18magic. So, naturally, I enjoyed watching
- 47:20them all die in horribly gruesome ways.
- 47:23Thank you for watching. I will see
- 47:24[music] you in the next transmission. Go
- 47:26follow the creator of the show on
- 47:28YouTube and Tik Tok down below in the
