  1. 0:00when all arguments boil down to power
  2. 0:02dynamics that means there can't be any
  3. 0:03arguments arguments are useless more
  4. 0:06than that if my arguments make you feel
  5. 0:07uncomfortable that's me using my power
  6. 0:09against you that's me hurting you that's
  7. 0:11me Micro aggressing you and so you have
  8. 0:14to shut up right if you say something to
  9. 0:15me that hurts me you need to shut up
  10. 0:17because you're not making an argument
  11. 0:18arguments are just power
  12. 0:20so if you say something that offends me
  13. 0:22that's you using your power against me
  14. 0:23in the same way as if you had hit me
  15. 0:25and so you need to be quiet
  16. 0:27that's so that the powerless can
  17. 0:29reassert themselves it's time to shut up
  18. 0:30and do the work they have to do the work
  19. 0:33and the work inevitably it actually is
  20. 0:34work you have to sit there and listen to
  21. 0:36a bunch of nonsense from people who
  22. 0:37don't make arguments but talk inherently
  23. 0:39about how suffering they are and how
  24. 0:42difficult their lives are and if you
  25. 0:43have anything to say on the other end
  26. 0:45then you have not done the work I mean
  27. 0:47at least they're being honest of it that
  28. 0:49it's work I mean it certainly is not
  29. 0:50play I'm not sure how else you would
  30. 0:51categorize it but if you do the work
  31. 0:53this means you're supposed to just shut
  32. 0:54up and listen and by shutting up and
  33. 0:56listen we mean never having a discussion
  34. 0:57of course you should listen to the other
  35. 0:58person's perspective and then you should
  36. 0:59offer your own this is called the
  37. 1:00conversation and grown-up adults do it
  38. 1:02all the time
  39. 1:03but according to the left you're not
  40. 1:05supposed to do this sort of stuff
  41. 1:06if you speak up you may have committed
  42. 1:09one of those horrible brutal
  43. 1:11microaggressions aggressions that are so
  44. 1:13small you can't even see them they're so
  45. 1:16small they're not just big aggressions
  46. 1:18or medium-sized aggressions they're
  47. 1:19microaggressions the most Insidious
  48. 1:21kinds of aggressions like dust that gets
  49. 1:23under your fingernails in terms of
  50. 1:24aggression
  51. 1:27in fact if you if you speak if you say
  52. 1:30something wrong the only way that we can
  53. 1:32teach you a lesson is if we create I
  54. 1:33don't know like a tree of Oppression
  55. 1:35and we just create this giant tree in
  56. 1:37the middle of a campus and we just put a
  57. 1:39bunch of chains on it and called the
  58. 1:40tree of Oppression
  59. 1:41and um and it's a magical place and then
  60. 1:45we will all know that we are all
  61. 1:46oppressed but we're not all oppressed
  62. 1:48only some of us are oppressed and if you
  63. 1:49make fun of the tree of Oppression
  64. 1:50you're part of the microaggression
  65. 1:51universe or maybe you hire ibrahamex
  66. 1:53candy to give the Martin Luther King Jr
  67. 1:55Legacy convocation in order to ensure
  68. 1:57that somebody has been paid off in order
  69. 1:59to assuage the feelings of the of the
  70. 2:02broad left because if ever makes candy
  71. 2:04is able to put cash in his bank account
  72. 2:05then this means that you have fought
  73. 2:07racism in some unknowable way
  74. 2:10this sort of garbage has been written
  75. 2:11into the code of nearly every major
  76. 2:12institution in American Life the term
  77. 2:14that's used on campus and in corporate
  78. 2:16boardrooms Across America are diversity
  79. 2:18equity and inclusion which of course is
  80. 2:20the sort of Happy Talk the orwellian
  81. 2:22happy talk that you hear very often from
  82. 2:23the left is like when Twitter says they
  83. 2:25have a health and safety Council and
  84. 2:27what they really mean is you're not
  85. 2:28allowed to say anything we don't like
  86. 2:29like Leah Thomas is a dude or we'll ban
  87. 2:31you because that's health and safety
  88. 2:33right so they say diversity equity and
  89. 2:35inclusion and what they mean by that is
  90. 2:36shut up
  91. 2:37right they don't mean inclusion because
  92. 2:38if you have a point of view that argues
  93. 2:40with their own then you should be quiet
  94. 2:43and by Equity they mean again systems of
  95. 2:46power that have to be reversed they
  96. 2:47don't mean equality right because
  97. 2:49equality of Rights might actually be
  98. 2:50something worth pursuing what they mean
  99. 2:52is equity equality of outcome and that
  100. 2:54can only be achieved if a finger is put
  101. 2:56on the scale on behalf of marginalized
  102. 2:58groups
  103. 2:59so this means that institutions are
  104. 3:01allowed to discriminate against Asian
  105. 3:02Americans at Harvard so they can't get
  106. 3:04into the schools you know make sure that
  107. 3:06you have to correct that historic
  108. 3:07discrimination because of course Asian
  109. 3:09Americans were the chief beneficiaries
  110. 3:11of Harvard when it was first established
  111. 3:13by Asian Americans in the Asian dominant
  112. 3:15system that was created by Asian
  113. 3:17Americans at the founding of the United
  114. 3:18States
  115. 3:21you press forward inclusion by saying
  116. 3:23that anybody who goes to church is
  117. 3:24really we don't mean you and if you're
  118. 3:26one of those crazy people who cites the
  119. 3:27Bible we don't mean you and we say
  120. 3:28inclusive what we really mean is like
  121. 3:31everyone but you mostly
  122. 3:34and that's inclusion
  123. 3:36and of course you have to teach all
  124. 3:39children that this is the most important
  125. 3:41thing and so we have to do this at the
  126. 3:42earliest possible level right you have
  127. 3:43to teach small children in Ames Iowa to
  128. 3:45engage in Black lives matter at school
  129. 3:47week of action in your public schools
  130. 3:49these are very important things that you
  131. 3:51have to do to forward diversity equity
  132. 3:52and inclusion all of which is designed
  133. 3:55to indoctrinate kids in the idea that
  134. 3:57all argumentation is stupid that reason
  135. 3:59is bad the discussions are wrong and
  136. 4:01that everything is a reflection of power
  137. 4:03so be quiet
  138. 4:05wokism is destructive to the country no
  139. 4:07democracy can survive the denial of
  140. 4:09Truth the substitution of narratives of
  141. 4:11power for discussion about ideas and as
  142. 4:13it turns out the tenets of orchism are
  143. 4:15Lies when it comes to race it is vital
  144. 4:17to understand that what makes America
  145. 4:18different from virtually every other
  146. 4:20country on earth is that the founding
  147. 4:21principles of the United States what
  148. 4:23makes it distinctive is that the
  149. 4:24founding principles of the United States
  150. 4:26were Universal not racist
  151. 4:28the Declaration of Independence is
  152. 4:29Promised which was not fully kept at the
  153. 4:31time of the Declaration of Independence
  154. 4:33was a universal promise
  155. 4:35that's not me saying that that's
  156. 4:36Frederick Douglass saying that this
  157. 4:37Booker T Washington saying that says
  158. 4:39Martin Luther King saying that
  159. 4:40right it's black leaders saying that the
  160. 4:42promissory note had to be cashed but
  161. 4:45that doesn't mean that the promise was
  162. 4:46meant to be evil and selective and
  163. 4:48discriminatory and that that's what's
  164. 4:50written into the DNA of the United
  165. 4:51States far from it the Constitution of
  166. 4:55the United States was written as far as
  167. 4:57it could be when you still had half the
  168. 4:59the nation slave holding in half the
  169. 5:01Nation free was written to allow for the
  170. 5:03birth of the United States but it was
  171. 5:05also written to allow a path forward
  172. 5:06Away From Slavery the Constitution of
  173. 5:09the United States has a bevy of
  174. 5:10Provisions that are designed to move the
  175. 5:11United States Away From Slavery entirely
  176. 5:14the Northwest Ordinance signed by George
  177. 5:16Washington in 1787 banned slavery in new
  178. 5:19territories
  179. 5:20there are approximately 60 000 free
  180. 5:22black Americans living in the United
  181. 5:23States about the time of the founding
  182. 5:24the Constitution of the United States
  183. 5:25banned the importation of slaves Beyond
  184. 5:271808. this is not to deny that racism
  185. 5:30and slavery and racial evil were a deep
  186. 5:33part of U.S history of course they were
  187. 5:35but it is to say that what makes America
  188. 5:37special and distinctive and great
  189. 5:39is that the principles that really do
  190. 5:42rest underneath the American ideal are
  191. 5:45not racist they are Universal they are
  192. 5:47individualistic which is of course why
  193. 5:49black Americans are by all available
  194. 5:51statistics the richest group of black
  195. 5:53people anywhere on Earth
  196. 5:54it is the reason why the United States
  197. 5:56alone among multi-racial democracies has
  198. 5:58elected a black president I know we're
  199. 5:59supposed to pretend that that's not a
  200. 6:00data point in favor of anything but it
  201. 6:02turns out it's actually a data point in
  202. 6:03favor of something
  203. 6:05the United States happens to be by all
  204. 6:07available poll data one of the most
  205. 6:08racially tolerant places on planet Earth
  206. 6:11and yet the idea is that Americans are
  207. 6:12racist and that if Americans aren't
  208. 6:14racist they really are racist right if
  209. 6:16you say you're not racist this is just
  210. 6:18because you haven't accepted your own
  211. 6:19racism
  212. 6:21right yeah deep down we'll give you an
  213. 6:23implicit bias association test a deeply
  214. 6:26flawed social science nonsense study
  215. 6:28where you click a little button and then
  216. 6:30it tells you if you're racist or not
  217. 6:31based on how quickly you tap on that
  218. 6:33little button
  219. 6:34and that's how we'll know if you're
  220. 6:35racist we won't know that you're a
  221. 6:36racist because say you know it's 1960
  222. 6:38and you actually sponsored a law in
  223. 6:39Alabama preventing black people from
  224. 6:41going into restaurants that's like a
  225. 6:42pretty good indication of race no what
  226. 6:44we will do is we'll have you click a
  227. 6:45button in your Harvard class and then
  228. 6:46we'll tell you that you're a racist
  229. 6:47based on no evidence other than how you
  230. 6:49click that button by the way you can
  231. 6:51also game that test the second time you
  232. 6:53take it you almost invariably do better
  233. 6:54than you do the first which is the mark
  234. 6:55of a bad test my tests are supposed to
  235. 6:57be duplicative if you take an IQ test
  236. 6:59and one day you score 100 and the next
  237. 7:01day you score 150 that's a bad IQ test
  238. 7:02you didn't randomly get 50 points
  239. 7:04smarter
  240. 7:07and wokeism is also wrong in arguing
  241. 7:10that there's no objective truth more
  242. 7:11generally of course biological sex
  243. 7:14exists of course biological sex exists
  244. 7:17men and women exist
  245. 7:28I always choose this example because it
  246. 7:30was only a few years ago that Dennis
  247. 7:31Prager was literally laughed off the set
  248. 7:33of Bill Maher's show for pointing out
  249. 7:35that many people on the left had said
  250. 7:37that men could be women and women could
  251. 7:38be men and Bill Martin insists like what
  252. 7:40kind of crazy are you talking and now
  253. 7:42you have Supreme Court nominees openly
  254. 7:43saying they cannot Define the word woman
  255. 7:45in hearings and then being confirmed
  256. 7:48okay but as it turns out yes men and
  257. 7:50women exist and they are different and
  258. 7:52all reproductive capacity for the human
  259. 7:54species rests on this fundamental
  260. 7:55distinction and it is not all that
  261. 7:57difficult to define a woman or to define
  262. 7:58a man you can do it via genetics you can
  263. 8:00do it via reproductive organs you can do
  264. 8:02it through secondary sex characteristics
  265. 8:03there are many different ways that you
  266. 8:05can do this no there is no random third
  267. 8:07sex know that gender fluidity is not a
  268. 8:10thing a man cannot be a woman and a
  269. 8:11woman cannot be a man these are basic
  270. 8:13facts this doesn't mean you should be
  271. 8:15mean to anybody
  272. 8:24but it turns out that truth is not mean
  273. 8:26it's just truth truth is not a system of
  274. 8:29power it is just truth
  275. 8:31fact are just facts and as I'm fond of
  276. 8:34saying they don't care about your
  277. 8:35feelings
  278. 8:42finally wokism is wrong because again
  279. 8:44with all of the
  280. 8:46stuff that we've talked about in the end
  281. 8:47it forecloses discussion and that's what
  282. 8:49we need I mean if we're going to have a
  283. 8:51functioning Republic in the United
  284. 8:52States we actually have to have
  285. 8:53discussions between one another where
  286. 8:54we're not so insulted that we go off to
  287. 8:57our safe space crime corners and weep
  288. 8:59about it
  289. 9:00and where we have Student Activities
  290. 9:02that that are set where you have pizza
  291. 9:04and Kumbaya sessions just to get away
  292. 9:06from the possibility that someone might
  293. 9:07disagree with you you're free to do that
  294. 9:09it's a free country but it is also the
  295. 9:12case that if you wish to see the United
  296. 9:13States thrive in the future it's going
  297. 9:15to have to stick to the principles that
  298. 9:16brought us here namely things like
  299. 9:18individual freedom things like objective
  300. 9:21truth things like strong social
  301. 9:22institutions that reinforce important
  302. 9:24social rules
  303. 9:25these are important things if we can do
  304. 9:28all of that we'll preserve the United
  305. 9:29States if we can and if we fall to
  306. 9:30wokeness we're in real trouble which is
  307. 9:32why wokeness has to be destroyed I think
  308. 9:34with the help of God it will be
  309. 9:36I hope you enjoyed that clip from the
  310. 9:38Ben Shapiro show if you did go ahead and
