3. 0:06time to explore the ancient Mesoamerican
4. 0:10civilizations mesoamerica is a region
5. 0:13that includes parts of Mexico and
6. 0:15Central America it was home to some
7. 0:18incredible ancient civilizations like
8. 0:21the MCH the Maya and the
9. 0:24Aztec these people lived thousands of
10. 0:27years ago and built amazing CI created
11. 0:31beautiful art and had fascinating
12. 0:34cultures let's learn about them are you
13. 0:38ready let's
14. 0:55go first up we have thech civilization
15. 1:00the olchs are often called the mother
16. 1:02culture of meso America because they
17. 1:05were one of the first major
18. 1:07civilizations in the
19. 1:09region they lived around 1200 to 400
20. 1:14BCE one of the coolest things about the
21. 1:17MCH is their giant Stone heads some of
22. 1:21these heads are over 9 ft tall can you
23. 1:24imagine carving something that big these
24. 1:28heads were probably made to honor their

28. 1:53pyramids in meso America and developed a
29. 1:56calendar system they were great at
30. 1:59farming too growing crops like maze

35. 2:16they were super smart and had their own
36. 2:18writing system with hieroglyphs

50. 3:06today the Aztecs were amazing engineers
51. 3:10and built their City on a lake with
52. 3:12canals running through it like a watery
53. 3:14Highway they had cool temples and
54. 3:17marketplaces where they traded Goods
55. 3:19like chocolate and Jade yum
56. 3:27chocolate the Aztecs were also Fierce
57. 3:30Warriors they had a powerful Army and
58. 3:33conquered many neighboring lands
59. 3:35bringing back treasures and new ideas to
60. 3:38their
61. 3:40Capital so what was daily life like for
62. 3:44kids in ancient meso America just like
63. 3:47you they went to school to learn about
64. 3:49their culture and religion the Maya had
65. 3:53special schools for the children of
66. 3:54nobles where they learned Math Science
67. 3:57and writing
68. 3:59and just like you they played games too
69. 4:03the Maya played a game called pits with
70. 4:06a rubber ball and the Aztecs had a game
71. 4:09called POI which was a bit like a board
72. 4:13game families grew crops like maze
73. 4:17that's corn beans and squash and they
74. 4:21love to celebrate with music and dance
75. 4:23during
76. 4:26festivals the people of meso America
77. 4:28were also incred ible artists and
78. 4:31Architects the olch Made Beautiful Jade
79. 4:34sculptures and
80. 4:36pottery the Maya built impressive
81. 4:38pyramids like the Pyramid of the Sun at
