- 0:00I think that the biggest, most
- 0:02controversial question about the New
- 0:04Testament,
- 0:06did Jesus resurrect from the dead?
- 0:09>> Paul, he was on his way to persecute the
- 0:12church further. He had authorization to
- 0:15bring Christians into court and for
- 0:18their condemnation when
- 0:19>> [music]
- 0:19>> he was thrown from his horse and the
- 0:23Lord spoke to him, appeared to him and
- 0:25said to him, "Saul, Saul, why do you
- 0:27persecute me?"
- 0:31He He was blind from the moment [music]
- 0:33of the apparition and as soon as he was
- 0:36uh baptized, something like scales fell
- 0:38from his eyes and he could see again.
- 0:40And he becomes the great teacher of the
- 0:43faith.
- 0:47>> [music]
- 0:50>> Even more importantly, freeing people
- 0:52from
- 0:53demons.
- 0:54We find this in the gospel that
- 0:58the people who
- 0:59some way had been uh Satan had taken
- 1:02hold of them. They encountered our Lord,
- 1:04they immediately he had power over them.
- 1:09Our Lord freed individuals from the
- 1:11demons.
- 1:13They didn't want to accept that the
- 1:16Messiah was not an earthly ruler.
- 1:20Wasn't somebody who had come to to make
- 1:23everybody rich or to to to make
- 1:26everybody politically free, but [music]
- 1:28that he'd come to uh to save us from
- 1:31sin. That is his victory was the was
- 1:34over sin and and over
- 1:36evil.
- 1:41>> Does the New Testament make the Old
- 1:43Testament's laws obsolete? Is this a new
- 1:48way to live?
- 1:49>> The New Testament brings to fulfillment
- 1:52everything that is
- 1:54taught, everything that happened in the
- 1:56Old Testament finds its fulfillment, but
- 1:59that's not a cancellation.
- 2:02A woman would
- 2:04bear a son who
- 2:06would crush the head of Satan.
- 2:08>> If we say he will come again to judge
- 2:11both the living and the dead. [music]
- 2:12>> Yes.
- 2:14>> What does that mean if our souls
- 2:15immediately go to judgment?
- 2:18>> When he [music] comes at the end of the
- 2:19time, some people will still be on
- 2:22Earth.
- 2:22>> Adam and Eve were supposed to live
- 2:24forever. [music] Correct?
- 2:25Were they supposed to live forever?
- 2:27>> they would have lived forever in the
- 2:28friendship of God. It was through their
- 2:30sin that death came into the world.
- 2:32>> So, if when Christ came, it was to
- 2:35forgive us for all of our sins. All sins
- 2:37can
- 2:37>> And then so that we could [music] live
- 2:38forever.
- 2:40>> So, why are we not living forever?
- 2:43>> One of the mocked Lord and the other one
- 2:45whom we call Dismas, the good thief,
- 2:47said to Jesus, "Lord, remember me when
- 2:49you come into your kingdom."
- 2:51And our Lord said, "Today you will be
- 2:53with me in paradise."
- 2:59>> [music]
- 3:05>> So, the woman who had had hemorrhage
- 3:07[music] for 30 years, she just touched
- 3:10the hem of his garment and she was
- 3:12[music] healed
- 3:14because she had strong faith. She
- 3:15believed that he could heal her.
- 3:18When the Centurion came to ask our Lord
- 3:20[music] to to come to heal his son,
- 3:23our Lord said, "Well, come and do it."
- 3:25He [music] said, "No, I'm not worthy
- 3:26that you should enter under my roof.
- 3:28Just say the word. All you have to do is
- 3:31say the [music] word and my son will be
- 3:33healed." And and indeed that's
- 3:36what happened. Our Lord
- 3:39recognized his strong [music] faith,
- 3:40"Sure,
- 3:41your son is healed." And the Centurion
- 3:44on his way home met the servants who
- 3:47told him that it
- 3:48the healing took place.
- 3:54>> [music]
- 3:59[music]
- 4:02>> There are 27 books in the New Testament.
- 4:05The The conclusion of the Bible is the
- 4:08Book of Revelation or what's called the
- 4:10Apocalypse.
- 4:11This is a vision that Saint Saint John
- 4:14has. He has his gospel, he has three
- 4:15letters, and then the Apocalypse is a
- 4:18vision he had while living on the island
- 4:21of Patmos.
- 4:22Uh and it's a vision of the final times.
- 4:27>> How does it end?
- 4:28>> The Our Lord himself
- 4:31descends to Earth.
- 4:32>> In the flesh and blood?
- 4:33>> Yes, but glorified. Remember that the
- 4:36time of his resurrection is And this is
- 4:38somewhat of a mystery to us. We don't
- 4:40understand how it is. It is his body,
- 4:43but it's his glorified body. For
- 4:44instance, he can pass from one place to
- 4:48another without using a door.
- 4:54>> You know, a lot of people are
- 4:56scared of
- 4:58the end times.
- 4:59>> Yes.
- 4:59>> Should they be?
- 5:03>> No, if one is living
- 5:05>> [music]
- 5:06>> striving to live a good and just life,
- 5:08there's nothing
- 5:10about which to be afraid. Our Lord comes
- 5:13to save
- 5:14uh all that is good and [music] to
- 5:17save the just.
- 5:21People are oftentimes wanting to predict
- 5:23when the world will come [music] to an
- 5:24end. They asked Our Lord,
- 5:27and he said, "We shouldn't be worried
- 5:29about that. That's the concern of God
- 5:31the Father. [music] He will bring the
- 5:32world
- 5:34to an end when the time is right, when
- 5:36the master returns, [music]
- 5:38ready to receive him."
- 5:43When Our Lord comes to restore
- 5:45everything to the Father,
- 5:47it will be back in Eden. And as you were
- 5:51saying earlier on, Adam and Eve were
- 5:53meant to live forever.
- 5:55We will be in in that state where we
- 5:57will live forever. There will be no more
- 5:59sin or death.
- 6:03>> [music]
