4. 0:06seven-year-old daughter and trying to
5. 0:08kill her two other children
6. 0:10down still insists she's innocent but is
7. 0:12serving a life term in prison
8. 0:14now one of the most sensational murder
9. 0:16stories in oregon history is being
10. 0:18publicized once again in the form of a
11. 0:21book by seattle author anne rule it
12. 0:23outlines down's life the murder
13. 0:25investigation and trial
14. 0:27in an interview last week with channel
15. 0:292's mary starrett downes claim the book
16. 0:32is flawed
17. 0:33anne rule took liberties to
18. 0:35portray my feelings without ever once
19. 0:38interviewing me she didn't interview the
20. 0:40jurors she didn't find out about their
21. 0:42feelings and
22. 0:43things that they decided were
23. 0:45significant and not significant i think
24. 0:47that's real important

26. 0:50she distorted psychological evaluations
27. 0:53that were done on me she misrepresented
28. 0:54them and gave her professional opinion
29. 0:57of them
30. 0:58rule says she expected downs to object
31. 1:00to the book but believes that's as far
32. 1:03as it will go there's nothing in there
33. 1:05basically that she didn't say in open
34. 1:07court
35. 1:08or that was not told to me by public
36. 1:10officials and in most instances i have
37. 1:13three sources for everything
38. 1:16so there's very little that she could
39. 1:18sue on
40. 1:19rules set up a trust fund with some of
41. 1:21her profits for downs to surviving
42. 1:23children though downs claim she's
43. 1:25working on her own book oregon law
44. 1:28prohibits her from profiting the state
45. 1:30supreme court turned down her most
46. 1:31recent appeal and she's not eligible for
47. 1:34parole until the year
48. 1:352017.
