  1. 0:00what you want to do when you're printing
  2. 0:01a part like this is not actually print
  3. 0:03it flat or vertical you want to print it
  4. 0:06diagonally now this is not very easy to
  5. 0:08do because now the center of mass is
  6. 0:10over not the center of the touch point
  7. 0:13on the print bed so you have to have
  8. 0:14support back here but you don't want to
  9. 0:16have that be autogenerated support
  10. 0:18because it ends up creating a lot more
  11. 0:19material and not always being very
  12. 0:21reliable so you have to use designed
  13. 0:24support you create effectively a fin off
  14. 0:27the part you design this fin to be about
  15. 0:29a half a mm to 1 mm spaced parallel to
  16. 0:33the back of the part that you're trying
  17. 0:34to print make sure that the back edge of
  18. 0:36the flange is also flattened a little
  19. 0:38bit so that you have a part of the part
  20. 0:40against the bed then you take sprew and
  21. 0:43design them to run and merge into the
  22. 0:45part you now have this nice little set
  23. 0:48of ribs that run up here along this fin
  24. 0:51which when it's done all you have to do
  25. 0:53is break it off and it's a very clean
  26. 0:56way of producing supports it's also very
  27. 0:58very reliable
