Debunking Misandry: Women Don't Hate Us, But They Should — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00So, recently, I did an intro video
- 0:02discussing misogyny. I made the point
- 0:05that America was built on patriarchy,
- 0:07which produces misogyny, and that the
- 0:10three major religions in the West are
- 0:12primary drivers of that misogyny. We
- 0:15focused on the Christian Bible because
- 0:17that's what I'm most familiar with, but
- 0:19some of y'all produced examples from
- 0:21Islam and Judaism, too. I also used my
- 0:24own journey to help connect with men by
- 0:26identifying some of the ways I've been
- 0:28misogynistic, even within the last year.
- 0:31It was mostly love in the comments, but
- 0:32some black men were not trying to hear
- 0:35that noise. Some comments were brief and
- 0:37angry. More than one person directly
- 0:39called me homosexual. While one person
- 0:42left a supportive novel. Welcome to my
- 0:44job. To those who didn't like it, I'm
- 0:46glad y'all spoke up cuz now I got a lot
- 0:48of comments to go through and debunk one
- 0:51by one. This is my favorite thing to do.
- 0:53I'm a fact-checker at heart. Let's
- 0:54explore all the negativity, the myth of
- 0:57the man-hating feminists, and the
- 0:59misconceptions around feminism itself.
- 1:04In the intro of that prior video, I said
- 1:06this, "For anybody who's tempted to
- 1:08dismiss this as the rant of a male
- 1:11feminist,
- 1:12you're right. You know what's on my
- 1:14side, though?
- 1:15The facts.
- 1:16And it didn't go over well with a couple
- 1:18of y'all. Let's take a deeper look into
- 1:20the reasons why. These first two
- 1:22comments match, essentially saying that
- 1:24I lost y'all by claiming I'm a feminist.
- 1:28You must be new here. That isn't some
- 1:29new revelation, but let's roll with it.
- 1:31We got to define feminism based on what
- 1:33it actually means, not how y'all warp
- 1:36the word to fit your narrative.
- 1:38Britannica defines it as follows, "The
- 1:40belief in social, economic, and
- 1:42political equality of the sexes." The
- 1:45challenge I posit to every single person
- 1:47who pushes back on men being feminists
- 1:49is this, "Pick a part of that definition
- 1:51to disagree with and defend your
- 1:53position. Is it the social, economic, or
- 1:56political equality that rubs you the
- 1:58wrong way?
- 1:59You can't attack this definition without
- 2:01being sexist. And that's my entire
- 2:03point. In order to actually score points
- 2:06in a debate, you need to come up with
- 2:07your own definition, like this bot did.
- 2:11I'm not calling them a bot as a joke.
- 2:13This is literally a bot. I'm only
- 2:14engaging with this because the
- 2:16point is similar to what some other
- 2:18people said later.
- 2:20Taking the edge off said, "Quote, male
- 2:22feminists are just a patriarchy hiding
- 2:24behind soft words, end quote." That
- 2:27would imply that it's brave to stand
- 2:29your ground and back the patriarchy
- 2:31proudly, right? But that's the majority
- 2:33position in America, and always has
- 2:35been. So, who's really taking a risk?
- 2:38You did this to yourself. Let's take a
- 2:39look at your profile. Oh, oh, no.
- 2:43Typical white alpha male cartoon avatar,
- 2:46which means this is probably a foreign
- 2:48incel. The same video twice with
- 2:51different font on the thumbnails. Let's
- 2:53watch a little bit of this bot video.
- 2:55The subtle genius of this propaganda lay
- 2:58in its ability to make women believe
- 3:00that the art making was a place of
- 3:01stifling oppression, positioning the
- 3:03workplace as their real stage for
- 3:05liberation. This was a calculated move
- 3:08by capitalist forces that saw an
- 3:10opportunity to harness women's labor in
- 3:12the workforce to further fuel economic
- 3:14growth. AI voiceover throughout, and the
- 3:16central message is that feminism is
- 3:18actually co-opted by corporations that
- 3:21want more workers to exploit. So,
- 3:23therefore, quote-unquote modern feminism
- 3:26isn't as pure as the definition I gave
- 3:28y'all earlier. The claim hinges on the
- 3:30belief that feminists just want to be
- 3:32the patriarchy, and they've been tricked
- 3:34by corporations to fight for equal
- 3:36rights. Thinking women are being tricked
- 3:38into feminism by some kind of false flag
- 3:40operation is actually more sexist.
- 3:43Congratulations. I get the suspicion
- 3:45that corporations are trying to co-opt
- 3:47the movement. I understand that. They
- 3:48try to co-opt every movement. That's
- 3:50what capitalism does. There just isn't
- 3:52any evidence that those attempts are
- 3:54responsible for what you call modern
- 3:56feminism. The Supreme Court, responsible
- 3:59for removing their right to control
- 4:00their own reproductive systems, is
- 4:03mostly male and mostly conservative,
- 4:05which means almost all of them uphold
- 4:08the patriarchy at every opportunity.
- 4:10You know what never happen? A court
- 4:13telling me what to do with my dick. Oh,
- 4:15but you think you own that baby inside a
- 4:17woman because you helped with half the
- 4:19DNA before her 9-month gestational
- 4:22nightmare? And instead of talking these
- 4:24differences out with your partner, you
- 4:26want to create a legal environment where
- 4:28nine states can ban abortions with no
- 4:31exception for incest or
- 4:33Interesting. This dude said women are up
- 4:36on all fronts in 2026. White men make up
- 4:39about 35% of the US population, while
- 4:41black women make up about 7.4% of the US
- 4:45population. Here's the percentage of VP
- 4:48roles and C-suite positions each of them
- 4:50fill.
- 4:52Looking hella lopsided, right?
- 4:54Yeah, I thought so, too.
- 4:55And since I know you're going to ask,
- 4:57this is the distribution between black
- 4:59men and black women specifically in the
- 5:01C-suite. Each block represents one unit
- 5:04of representation or one percentage
- 5:06point.
- 5:07We got one more. I'm pointing this out
- 5:09cuz one of y'all said, "Black men are
- 5:11going through more than black women
- 5:13right now."
- 5:14Economically, that's highly unlikely.
- 5:17We're promoted more often, disciplined
- 5:19less harshly, and operate under fewer
- 5:21societal restrictions since we live in a
- 5:23patriarchy that's also becoming more
- 5:25fascistic by the day. As another
- 5:28approach, you could turn the word
- 5:29feminist into a slur that refers to this
- 5:32imaginary wave of man-haters. When in
- 5:35reality, you're hyper-focused on a few
- 5:37examples of women who legitimately hate
- 5:39men. The internet is a big place. I'm
- 5:41not denying that these women exist. I
- 5:43want to break this one down line by
- 5:45line. Quote, "Why is it only black men
- 5:47are held to a higher standard?" This is
- 5:50called whataboutism, and it's completely
- 5:52untrue. I made one YouTube video, and
- 5:54you use that to ignore the fact that
- 5:56there's hundreds of white women on
- 5:57YouTube who center their entire channels
- 6:00around tearing down the patriarchy?
- 6:02Next line. "Make a video regarding black
- 6:05women disrespecting the black man and
- 6:07women having modesty."
- 6:09First off, I don't work for you, bro.
- 6:12Make it yourself. I can't tell you how
- 6:14many times men, because it's almost
- 6:16always men, which is making my point for
- 6:18me, come to my channel full of my videos
- 6:21that I spent days, sometimes weeks,
- 6:24creating, and then give me orders. SHUT
- 6:27UP,
- 6:28>> "Black women disrespecting black man" is
- 6:30the next line. Look, there's literally
- 6:33thousands of videos about that on
- 6:35YouTube. You're only asking me to do it
- 6:37because people actually watch my videos.
- 6:40Let's go back to "Women having modesty."
- 6:42Again, you're making my point for me.
- 6:45Have you ever in your life heard anyone
- 6:47[snorts] tell a man to be more modest,
- 6:50specifically in the way you're referring
- 6:51to here? No, you haven't. Just a half a
- 6:55second of introspection before y'all hit
- 6:57the keyboard, bro, please. Next line.
- 6:59"Black men get beat up and picked on by
- 7:01everybody these days, including by black
- 7:04men."
- 7:05Is that what I was doing?
- 7:07I presented my own problems with
- 7:09misogyny as an effort to connect with
- 7:11your dumb ass, and you twist that into
- 7:13me bashing black men? Presenting
- 7:15critique is not the same as picking on
- 7:17someone. For a group of people claiming
- 7:19to define masculinity by going your own
- 7:22way and being immune to emotion, y'all
- 7:26are really thin-skinned. Last line.
- 7:28"Stop the pandering, bro. We all have
- 7:30things to work on as people, but stop
- 7:32signaling out only black men." Actually,
- 7:34I was talking to all men. You made it
- 7:36racial. Claiming I'm pandering is an
- 7:38effort to discredit my analysis. If I'm
- 7:41just making this video to appeal to
- 7:42black women and only black women, then
- 7:44it's easier for you to deal with the
- 7:46uncomfortable truths I rolled out.
- 7:48Things that appeal to black women can't
- 7:50possibly be valid, right?
- 7:52It's also easier to ignore the story I
- 7:55shared about my own struggles with
- 7:56misogyny in my recent relationships.
- 7:59What part of that vulnerability serves
- 8:01me?
- 8:02I could have kept it to myself and acted
- 8:04like I already got it figured out and
- 8:06preached to y'all from a pedestal. That
- 8:07was for your dumb ass. Moving on. A core
- 8:10issue with the implication that
- 8:12misandry, or the hatred of men, is as
- 8:15significant of an issue as misogyny, is
- 8:18your ignorance of the power imbalance.
- 8:20I've already covered this with the
- 8:22Supreme Court example earlier, but the
- 8:24best way I can put this metaphorically
- 8:26is to compare it to the black-white
- 8:28racial discrimination gap. Claiming
- 8:31those are the same in both directions is
- 8:34a wild take that would make sense if you
- 8:36knew absolutely jack about history
- 8:38or society at large. Black people could
- 8:41not make a Jim Crow happen if we wanted
- 8:43to. We don't have the numbers or the
- 8:45institutional power to pull that off.
- 8:48White people are actively trying to take
- 8:50us back to Jim Crow right now, as I
- 8:52broke down in my Project 2025 series. Do
- 8:55you see what I mean? Y'all just don't
- 8:57like being the problematic side of the
- 8:59equation.
- 9:00I didn't like it, either, and I made
- 9:02that video to be honest about my
- 9:03journey, not to pander. It's crazy how
- 9:06every time a man deconstructs negative
- 9:09aspects of masculinity, or the way
- 9:11masculinity is shaped in this society,
- 9:13we're accused of trying to appeal to
- 9:15women. It's particularly ironic because
- 9:17everything y'all lames do is about
- 9:19attracting women, despite your internal
- 9:21hatred of everything they represent. But
- 9:23back to that prior comment, some black
- 9:25women call us the white people of black
- 9:27people. And comments like this make it
- 9:30evident that they're right. This is some
- 9:32Karen Why are African-Americans
- 9:35still dying at the hands of law
- 9:36enforcement in this country? And so are
- 9:38white people. Did I just spend all this
- 9:40time replying to comments? Yes. Did it
- 9:43feel good to get that out? Yes, it did.
- 9:46Every now and then I got to set the
- 9:48record straight. Using your comments to
- 9:50get precise about my arguments is an
- 9:52excellent method in my eyes. This is a
- 9:54lesson to people dropping on my
- 9:56videos. You might get got. In
- 9:58conclusion, let's talk about the myth of
- 10:01misandry. It's the real issue bubbling
- 10:03below the surface of a lot of these
- 10:04criticisms, and it deserves its own
- 10:07breakdown. I read articles on this and
- 10:09did research into why it's a thing, why
- 10:12the philosophy doesn't really stand up,
- 10:14all that. I'm going to restrict that to
- 10:16facts because y'all love to parrot
- 10:18sayings like facts over feelings and
- 10:21facts don't care about your feelings.
- 10:23This is an academic study, not an blog.
- 10:26I got it linked in the description, so
- 10:28you can see it for yourselves. It's
- 10:30pretty compelling. In six studies, they
- 10:32quote examine the accuracy and
- 10:34underpinnings of the damaging stereotype
- 10:36that feminists harbor negative attitudes
- 10:39towards men. In study one with 1664
- 10:42people, feminist and non-feminist women
- 10:45displayed similarly positive attitudes
- 10:47towards men. Study two replicated those
- 10:50results among almost 3900 male
- 10:53participants.
- 10:54The only study here that comes close to
- 10:57anything near what all these commenters
- 10:58were implying is the conclusion they
- 11:01drew from studies four and five, where
- 11:03feminists were shown to see men as more
- 11:05threatening,
- 11:06but also more similar to women.
- 11:09I don't know if it's news to y'all, but
- 11:11men are more threatening. We've been
- 11:13collectively murdering men and women on
- 11:16a daily basis for centuries now.
- 11:18This article from the women's aid
- 11:20organization, again, rigorously sourced,
- 11:23says, quote, "Whilst both men and women
- 11:26may experience incidents of
- 11:28interpersonal violence and abuse, there
- 11:30are important differences between male
- 11:32violence against women and female
- 11:34violence against men, namely the amount,
- 11:37severity, and impact."
- 11:40I'm sure even some of the men who
- 11:42commented on that last video would agree
- 11:43with that. But here's the really crucial
- 11:46part.
- 11:47Quote, "Women are more likely to
- 11:49experience higher levels of fear and are
- 11:51more likely to be subjected to coercive
- 11:54and controlling behaviors. Men do not
- 11:56experience domestic abuse as part of
- 11:58embedded structural inequalities against
- 12:01their sex. For women, however, domestic
- 12:04abuse is deeply rooted in inequalities
- 12:06between women and men." End quote.
- 12:08That's the whole point I've been
- 12:09stressing.
- 12:11Not only are we more violent and more
- 12:13deadly,
- 12:14we aren't dealing with a system designed
- 12:16to suppress our rights or the level of
- 12:18coercion we exert on women.
- 12:21That's the whole thing. That's what you
- 12:22need to take away from this video. I can
- 12:24guarantee that some of y'all wouldn't
- 12:26even have left a comment if it wasn't a
- 12:28man talking to you in the first place.
- 12:30You don't even respect women enough to
- 12:32listen to their complaints and leave
- 12:34hate on their videos in the first place.
- 12:36So, you came to me instead. You know
- 12:38why, right? You think I'm cool.
- 12:40And people listen to me. Therefore, I
- 12:42struck a nerve. Calling me gay has
- 12:44happened before, and I've noticed a
- 12:46pattern. It happens every time I
- 12:48challenge something black men believe or
- 12:50something they enjoy.
- 12:52They see homosexuality as the worst
- 12:54possible thing someone can be.
- 12:56And calling me that when you know it
- 12:58isn't true says so much more about you
- 13:01than it could ever say about me. My skin
- 13:03isn't clear enough to be a gay man.
- 13:05Don't insult them like that. I got a new
- 13:06skin routine recently. I'm trying to get
- 13:08on their level one day. I'm going to
- 13:10close this out by recommending some
- 13:12black feminist authors and activists you
- 13:14should read or listen to.
- 13:16I'll give you specific titles, but just
- 13:18start by Googling them and go from
- 13:20there. It's an amazing rabbit hole that
- 13:22will absolutely wake your ass up. We Are
- 13:25the Ones We've Been Waiting For by Alice
- 13:27Walker. Women, Race, and Class and
- 13:29Women, Culture, and Politics, two
- 13:31separate books by Angela Davis. Need: A
- 13:33Choral for Black Women's Voices by Audre
- 13:35Lorde. Anything Toni Morrison has ever
- 13:38written. Anything by bell hooks, but
- 13:40especially Ain't I a Woman? Beverly
- 13:42Guy-Sheftall, who founded the Spelman
- 13:44College Women's Research and Resource
- 13:46Center, edits the SAGE academic journal
- 13:48and led the criticism of Nelly's Tip
- 13:51Drill video. That's probably the only
- 13:52one that caught y'all's attention.
- 13:54>> [music]
- 13:54>> The Generates. That's enough for the
- 13:56next year of your life, honestly, but
- 13:57there's so many more. Here's a starter
- 13:59article that lists the ones I just
- 14:02named.
- 14:02>> [music]
- 14:03>> This goes beyond black women, of course,
- 14:05but they're always going to be my
- 14:06priority. I've been pretty open about
- 14:08that. That's all I got until I revisit
- 14:10the red pill next month.
- 14:11We'll be talking about specific
- 14:13manosphere creators, including women in
- 14:15the manosphere, cuz it did not die.
- 14:17Catch y'all in the next one. It's a huge
- 14:19interview. Power to the people.
