  11. 0:20And Elizabeth, her conviction was
  12. 0:21overturned, so she's of course presumed
  13. 0:23innocent, at least until her retrial.
  14. 0:25got to think that with the seriousness
  15. 0:27of these charges, she's going to face
  16. 0:28plenty of critics during this
  17. 0:29transition.
  18. 0:30Absolutely, Steve. Katie, the biggest
  19. 0:31critic of all is the man who is the
  20. 0:33father of the little boy she's accused
  21. 0:35of killing. Tonight, I sat down with
  22. 0:37Arizona Milke to talk about the son he
  23. 0:39lost and the woman he says he's
  24. 0:41convinced had something to do with his
  25. 0:43murder.
  26. 0:44That's one of my main jobs is to live
  27. 0:47the unfinished life of my child, to
  28. 0:49touch as many hearts as I can, and help
  29. 0:52as many people as I can.
  30. 0:53It's hard to imagine the pain Arizona
  31. 0:55Milke feels every day knowing his son
  32. 0:59was murdered 24 years ago, shot three
  33. 1:02times in the back of the head in the
  34. 1:04Arizona desert.
  35. 1:05He's the best thing in my life.
  36. 1:07You have 4 years in heaven with him
  37. 1:10is worth
  38. 1:12the balance of my 52 years in hell.
  39. 1:14Hell is the only way Arizona can
  40. 1:17describe the time since his son was
  41. 1:18killed. He was in court all but one day
  42. 1:21when his ex-wife, Christopher's mom, was
  43. 1:24found guilty of murder and sentenced to
  44. 1:27death.
  45. 1:27She's a sociopath, plain and simple.
  46. 1:30Do you think she's sorry?
  47. 1:32She's sorry that she's spent this time
  48. 1:34in the
  49. 1:36in the hoosegow.
  50. 1:37But Arizona will always be sorry. Sorry
  51. 1:40he didn't get to see his little boy grow
  52. 1:42up, to see the man he would have become.
  53. 1:45He'd be 27 and next month he would be
  54. 1:4728. The same age as I was when he died.
  55. 1:51He was a rough boy like me. He was
  56. 1:53adventurous, loved to dance, curious.
  57. 1:56And as he waits for Debra Milke's
  58. 1:58retrial, going through it all over
  59. 2:00again, his biggest fear is the outcome.
  60. 2:03Do you think Debra will walk?
  61. 2:05Um if if Arizona has their way, yeah.
  62. 2:08Arizona says he'll be in court every day
  63. 2:11for the retrial, and he hopes he'll be
  64. 2:12called to testify. I asked him if he
  65. 2:14thought Debra Milke deserved the death
  66. 2:16penalty, and he said yes. No word yet on
  67. 2:19when that retrial will begin.
  68. 2:21Yeah, difficult case so many years
  69. 2:22later. Thank you, Elizabeth.
