  1. 0:00Hello my friends, welcome back to Easy
  2. 0:02English the podcast and super welcome
  3. 0:05day three of your 21 days English
  4. 0:08fluency shadowing challenge. I am Zen.
  5. 0:11Today's topic is pronunciation.
  6. 0:14Let me tell you what pronunciation
  7. 0:16means.
  8. 0:17Pronunciation means the way you say a
  9. 0:20word with your mouth. Not the spelling,
  10. 0:23just the sound. Let me give you a simple
  11. 0:26example. The word comfortable. Many
  12. 0:30people say it slowly, comfortable.
  13. 0:33Comfortable. But a native speaker says
  14. 0:36it short, comfortable. Comfortable. Same
  15. 0:40word, different sound. That is
  16. 0:42pronunciation.
  17. 0:44Here is another example. Ship and sheep.
  18. 0:48Ship is a boat, sheep is an animal. The
  19. 0:52spelling looks similar, but the sound is
  20. 0:54different. If you say it wrong, people
  21. 0:58will not understand you correctly. That
  22. 1:00is why pronunciation is so important.
  23. 1:04And how do we improve it today? Very
  24. 1:06simple.
  25. 1:07We shadow. You listen to my voice, you
  26. 1:11copy the exact sound. Not just the word,
  27. 1:14the sound. Today's sentence will help
  28. 1:17you with
  29. 1:18the sound, t h the sound, the r and l
  30. 1:22sound, the v and w sound, and the
  31. 1:26natural rhythm of English. And I promise
  32. 1:29you this, if you complete this video
  33. 1:31till the end and shadow every sentence
  34. 1:34with focus, your pronunciation will
  35. 1:36already feel clearer today. So today, we
  36. 1:40are going to cover some super important
  37. 1:44sentences. These sentences will start
  38. 1:47very easy, but slowly they will get
  39. 1:49harder and harder. If a sentence has a
  40. 1:52difficult word, I will explain it to you
  41. 1:55in a simple English, so you can
  42. 1:57understand it perfectly.
  43. 2:00Yesterday on day two, we practiced daily

  61. 2:50Today, listen very carefully to my mouth
  62. 2:53sounds.
  63. 2:55Not just my words. The way my tongue
  64. 2:58moves. The way my lips move. Repeat
  65. 3:01immediately. Copy the sound exactly.
  66. 3:04Let's go. Level number one, sound
  67. 3:07warm-up sentences. Yes, sound warm-up
  68. 3:12sentences.
  69. 3:14These sentences are short, but they are
  70. 3:16full of tricky sounds. The sounds that
  71. 3:19most learners get wrong. Listen closely.
  72. 3:23Repeat with your full attention on the
  73. 3:25sound.
  74. 3:26Okay. I think that is right. Repeat.
  75. 3:30I think that is right.
  76. 3:33She sells shoes.
  77. 3:37She sells shoes.
  78. 3:41Very well, thank you.
  79. 3:43Very well, thank you.
  80. 3:47I really like it.

  93. 4:32He asked a question.
  94. 4:35He asked a question.
  95. 4:38Could you help me?
  96. 4:41Could you help me?
  97. 4:44I would love that.
  98. 4:48I would love that.
  99. 4:51Comfortable and warm.
  100. 4:54Comfortable and warm.

  105. 5:12Good. Level one complete. That was your
  106. 5:16sound warm up.
  107. 5:17Now, we move forward. Level two, stress
  108. 5:22and rhythm sentences. This is super
  109. 5:25important. English is a stress-timed
  110. 5:28language. That means some words are
  111. 5:31strong and some words are weak. This
  112. 5:34gives English its music, its rhythm.
  113. 5:38Listen for the strong words in each
  114. 5:41sentences. Then repeat with the same
  115. 5:44rhythm. I want to go home.
  116. 5:48I want to go home.
  117. 5:50She is my sister.
  118. 5:54She is my sister.
  119. 5:57We are leaving tomorrow.
  120. 6:00I never said that.

  122. 6:07He can speak French.
  123. 6:11He can speak French.
  124. 6:14I did not break it.
  125. 6:17I did not break it.
  126. 6:20Rhythm means the pattern of strong and
  127. 6:23weak beats in your speech, just like
  128. 6:25music has a beat. English sentences have
  129. 6:29beat, too. That is rhythm.
  130. 6:32Can you pass me the salt? Repeat. Can
  131. 6:35you pass me the salt?
  132. 6:40Good. She works very hard.
  133. 6:44She works very hard.
  134. 6:48I am sure about it.
  135. 6:51I am sure about it.
  136. 6:55Are you coming with us?
  137. 6:58Are you coming with us?
  138. 7:02I need this done today.
  139. 7:06I need this done today.
  140. 7:09She already left.
  141. 7:12She already left.
  142. 7:16Turn it off, please.
  143. 7:20Wait a minute, please.
  144. 7:23Wait a minute, please.
  145. 7:27Level two complete. Your rhythm is
  146. 7:30improving. Now, level three begins.
  147. 7:34Level three, tricky sounds sentences.
  148. 7:36Now, we attack the sounds that confuse
  149. 7:40most learners. The sound the R and L
  150. 7:43sound, the V and W sound. Listen very
  151. 7:47carefully. Slow down if you need to,
  152. 7:50then repeat with full focus. The weather
  153. 7:53these days is strange.
  154. 7:57The weather these days is strange.
  155. 8:02I truly love my family.
  156. 8:06I truly love my family.
  157. 8:10Really and truly I proud of you.
  158. 8:14Really and truly I proud of you.
  159. 8:18The road runs through the valley.
  160. 8:23The road runs through the valley.
  161. 8:28Valley means the low land between two
  162. 8:32hills or mountains,
  163. 8:35like a garden space between mountains.
  164. 8:37That is valley. Larry really arrives
  165. 8:41late. Repeat. Larry really arrives late.
  166. 8:50Great. The world is full of wonder.

  169. 9:05We traveled to a village.
  170. 9:10I value your opinion.
  171. 9:14I value your opinion.
  172. 9:18She revealed the truth eventually.
  173. 9:23She revealed the truth eventually.
  174. 9:27I vowed to never give up.
  175. 9:32I feel very grateful today.
  176. 9:37I feel very grateful today.
  177. 9:40Grateful means thankful, appreciating
  178. 9:43what you have. That is grateful.
  179. 9:46Practice makes pronunciation perfect.
  180. 9:50Repeat.
  181. 9:52Practice makes pronunciation perfect.
  182. 9:57Great. Level three complete. Your mouth
  183. 10:00muscles are working hard. Now level four
  184. 10:03begins. Level four speaking with
  185. 10:07clarity. Clarity means how clear your
  186. 10:10speech is.
  187. 10:11Not fast, not slow, just clear. These
  188. 10:15sentences are longer. Focus on ending
  189. 10:18your words fully. Do not drop your
  190. 10:21sounds. Repeat with clear, confident
  191. 10:24energy. Clear pronunciation builds
  192. 10:27instant trust in conversation.
  193. 10:29Repeat.
  194. 10:35Clear pronunciation builds instant trust
  195. 10:38in conversation.
  196. 10:44I articulate every word with intention.
  197. 10:50I articulate every word with intention.
  198. 10:59My accent is a part of my identity, not
  199. 11:02a flaw.
  200. 11:06My accent is a part of my identity, not
  201. 11:10a flaw.
  202. 11:14My accent is a part of my identity, not
  203. 11:17a flaw.
  204. 11:20Identity means who you truly are, your
  205. 11:24background, your culture, your story.
  206. 11:26Flaw means a mistake or a weakness. This
  207. 11:30sentence means your accent shows where
  208. 11:33you are from. It is not a mistake. I
  209. 11:36break long words into smaller parts.
  210. 11:39Repeat.
  211. 11:44I break long words into smaller parts.
  212. 11:49Emphasis falls naturally on important
  213. 11:52words.
  214. 11:56Emphasis falls naturally on important
  215. 12:00words.
  216. 12:05My tongue placement changes the entire
  217. 12:08sound.
  218. 12:12My tongue placement changes the entire
  219. 12:16sound.
  220. 12:21I listen first, then I imitate the exact
  221. 12:25sound.
  222. 12:30I listen first, then I imitate the exact
  223. 12:33sound.
  224. 12:37Imitate means to copy something exactly
  225. 12:40like a mirror, that is imitate.
  226. 12:43Shadowing trains my ear before it trains
  227. 12:46my mouth.
  228. 12:52Shadowing trains my ears before it
  229. 12:55trains my mouth.
  230. 12:59I record my voice and compare it
  231. 13:02honestly.
  232. 13:07I record my voice and compare it
  233. 13:10honestly.
  234. 13:15Consistent shadowing rewires how my
  235. 13:17brain hears English.
  236. 13:23Wait, consistent shadowing rewires how
  237. 13:27my brain hears English.
  238. 13:33Great. My pauses are intentional, not
  239. 13:36nervous.
  240. 13:40My pauses are intentional, not nervous.
  241. 13:47My pauses are intentional, not nervous.
  242. 13:52Clarity comes from repetition, not
  243. 13:54perfection.
  244. 13:59Clarity comes from repetition, not
  245. 14:02perfection.
  246. 14:04Repetition means doing the same thing
  247. 14:07again and again. That is repetition.
  248. 14:10Every difficult sound becomes easy with
  249. 14:12practice.
  250. 14:18Every difficult sound becomes easy with
  251. 14:21practice.
  252. 14:25My voice grows stronger and clearer
  253. 14:28every single day.
  254. 14:33My voice grows stronger and clearer
  255. 14:36every single day.
  256. 14:40Level four complete. You sound clearer
  257. 14:43already. Now, the final level begins.
  258. 14:47Level number five, speak like you mean.
  259. 14:50This is the final level of day three.
  260. 14:53These sentences are powerful. Say them
  261. 14:56slowly. Say them clearly. Feel every
  262. 14:59sound in your mouth. Say them like you
  263. 15:02already speak fluent English.
  264. 15:05My pronunciation reflects the effort I
  265. 15:08put in every single day. Repeat.
  266. 15:17My pronunciation reflects the effort I
  267. 15:20put in every single day.
  268. 15:27Great. I no longer fear being
  269. 15:30misunderstood.
  270. 15:35I no longer fear being misunderstood.
  271. 15:42Every sound I master brings me closer to
  272. 15:46fluency.
  273. 15:51Every sound I master brings to me closer
  274. 15:55to fluency.
  275. 15:59Master means to fully control something,
  276. 16:02to become excellent at it.
  277. 16:05That is master.
  278. 16:07Confidence in my voice comes from
  279. 16:10countless hours of practice.
  280. 16:18Confidence in my voice comes from
  281. 16:21countless hours of practice.
  282. 16:27I embrace my accent while sharpening my
  283. 16:31clarity.
  284. 16:36I embrace my accent while sharpening my
  285. 16:39clarity.
  286. 16:45The way I speak today is not the way I
  287. 16:48will speak tomorrow.
  288. 16:54The way I speak today is not the way I
  289. 16:57will speak tomorrow.
  290. 17:02I train my mouth the same way an athlete
  291. 17:05trains their body.
  292. 17:12I train my mouth the same way an athlete
  293. 17:15trains their body.
  294. 17:24I no longer avoid difficult words. I
  295. 17:27attack them.
  296. 17:33Great. I no longer avoid difficult
  297. 17:37words. I attack them.
  298. 17:43I sound more like myself every time I
  299. 17:46practice.
  300. 17:50I sound more like myself every time I
  301. 17:54practice.
  302. 17:58Clear speech opens doors that silence
  303. 18:01never could.
  304. 18:06Clear speech opens doors that silence
  305. 18:09never could.
  306. 18:15I do not chase a perfect accent. I chase
  307. 18:18clear communication.
  308. 18:24I do not chase a perfect accent. I chase
  309. 18:27clear communication.
  310. 18:31Communication means successfully sharing
  311. 18:34your thoughts with other person. That is
  312. 18:36the real goal, not a perfect accent. I
  313. 18:39speak clearly. I speak confidently. I
  314. 18:43speak like myself. Repeat.
  315. 18:50I speak clearly. I speak confidently. I
  316. 18:53speak like myself.
  317. 18:58Good. Today I trained my mouth. Tomorrow
  318. 19:02the world will listen.
  319. 19:07Today I trained my mouth. Tomorrow the
  320. 19:10world will listen.
  321. 19:15Great. Let me tell you something
  322. 19:17important. Something that will keep you
  323. 19:20motivated. Today you practiced
  324. 19:22pronunciation, but this was not about
  325. 19:25sounding like a native speaker. This was
  326. 19:28about something deeper. Muscle memory.
  327. 19:30Your mouth has muscles. Your tongue,
  328. 19:33your lips, your jaw. And just like any
  329. 19:37other muscle in your body, they need
  330. 19:40training. When you were a baby learning
  331. 19:43your first language, you listened for
  332. 19:46thousands of hours before you ever said
  333. 19:50a single clear word. Your brain built
  334. 19:53the sound map first, then your mouth
  335. 19:56followed. Shadowing does the exact same
  336. 19:59thing for English.
  337. 20:01You listen.
  338. 20:03You copy. You repeat again and again.
  339. 20:06And slowly your mouth learns new
  340. 20:08movements, new positions, new sounds. I
  341. 20:12want to talk to you for a moment. Not as
  342. 20:15a teacher, as a brother. Day three, some
  343. 20:18people quit around this point. The
  344. 20:21excitement of day one fades. The energy
  345. 20:25becomes routine. But you are still here,
  346. 20:28and I want you to understand something.
  347. 20:31Pronunciation is often the part people
  348. 20:34feel most embarrassed about.
  349. 20:37They feel the words.
  350. 20:39They know the grammar, but they stay
  351. 20:41quiet.
  352. 20:43Because they are afraid of how they
  353. 20:46sound. I do not want that fear for you.
  354. 20:49Every single person who speaks English
  355. 20:52clearly today once sounded exactly like
  356. 20:55you sound now.
  357. 20:57Nobody was born speaking clearly.
  358. 20:59They trained.
  359. 21:01Sound by sound. Just like you are doing
  360. 21:04right now. So do not be embarrassed of
  361. 21:08your accent. Be proud of your effort
  362. 21:11because effort is the only thing that
  363. 21:14turns into skill,
  364. 21:16not luck, not talent, effort. Today's
  365. 21:19homework is simple. Three things only.
  366. 21:22Number one, practice today's sentences
  367. 21:25at least two or three times.
  368. 21:28Morning and night, repeat, repeat,
  369. 21:31repeat.
  370. 21:32Must repeat. Focus on the sound, not
  371. 21:35just the meaning. Number two, record
  372. 21:39your voice saying five sentences from
  373. 21:41today.
  374. 21:43Listen back, compare it to my voice,
  375. 21:46notice one thing you want to improve,
  376. 21:49just one.
  377. 21:51Okay, next. Number three, write in the
  378. 21:53comment below.
  379. 21:55Day three completed and tell me which
  380. 21:58sound was hardest for you today.
  381. 22:01The th sound, the r and l sound, the v
  382. 22:06and w sound.
  383. 22:08I will read every single comment. I want
  384. 22:11to know before I go if this episode
  385. 22:14helped you today,
  386. 22:15share it with one person.
  387. 22:18Just one person, one friend,
  388. 22:21one family member, one person who needs
  389. 22:24this. Tell them, start with me, day
  390. 22:26three is done. Day four is coming
  391. 22:28tomorrow and tomorrow we go even deeper.
  392. 22:32Subscribe to Easy English the podcast,
  393. 22:35turn on the notification bell so you
  394. 22:37never miss a single day. Because every
  395. 22:39day of this challenge is building
  396. 22:41something inside you.
  397. 22:43Something real. Something powerful.
  398. 22:46Something that cannot be taken away.
  399. 22:49I will see you tomorrow for day four of
  400. 22:52the 21 days English shadowing challenge.
  401. 22:54Until then, keep speaking, keep
  402. 22:56practicing, keep believing, and always
  403. 22:59remember, your fluency begins when your
  404. 23:02fear ends. I will see you in the next
  405. 23:03episode.
  406. 23:05Bye-bye.
