- 1:06airline between our two churches. We're
- 1:08spending too much money.
- 1:12I want to also just uh honor a special
- 1:16Let me just tell you this. By the way,
- 1:17Upo is going to be speaking. Apostle
- 1:19Misa is going to be speaking. [cheering]
- 1:21He is he's the real deal by the way. Um
- 1:25and for those of you who don't know him,
- 1:27uh he is a man who is I mean their
- 1:29church is multiplying like crazy. Uh
- 1:32they have incredible things that they
- 1:34are doing. We are learning from them. Uh
- 1:37because man, they've caught the wind of
- 1:39the spirit. They're actually in the
- 1:39middle of a revival and we and so today
- 1:42I mean I'm just trying to tell you at
- 1:44Fearless this you want to listen uh when
- 1:46this man speaks because there's some
- 1:47incredible things that he's going to be
- 1:49bringing to us. Uh the next person I'm
- 1:51going to just uh honor is Dr. Shadon uh
- 1:54Dr. Johnson
- 1:56uh this month. All right. All right. By
- 1:59the way, let me just tell you,
- 2:00[cheering and applause] let's do this
- 2:01just cuz we don't want to take too long.
- 2:02Just sit fast, then I'll you can clap
- 2:05for all my guests when I Isn't it? I
- 2:07just want to tell you, you can't come
- 2:09for Fearless. I know some of you are
- 2:10saying I'm coming just for today and
- 2:11then tomorrow. I just want to let you
- 2:13know you can't not be here for the rest
- 2:14of Fearless. So he's he I I I went to
- 2:18visit uh Sierra Leon um last year. I had
- 2:21a chance to go visit. It was a I was
- 2:24very reluctant to go because it was a
- 2:26very busy time in my schedule, but
- 2:27somebody compelled me to come. I reached
- 2:30there and I thought, "OMG,
- 2:33like everything I've ever prayed about
- 2:36our church becoming, everything we've
- 2:39we've always talked about fearless
- 2:40influencers of society, I saw it with my
- 2:44eyes. I saw a church that is actually
- 2:45doing everything we've prayed about
- 2:47becoming and we've prepared to become.
- 2:49Uh they have 3,000 uh plus churches in
- 2:5320 plus countries and they are they're
- 2:57doing some incredible things. We spent
- 2:59two days with him as campus pastor with
- 3:00campus pastors the last two days. Let me
- 3:03tell you, your mind is about to be
- 3:04blown.
- 3:05>> Yeah. And he's not just speaking today.
- 3:07He's going to be speaking after this as
- 3:08well. So I'm just trying to tell you why
- 3:10you cannot be not here. Uh the next
- 3:13person is pastor Hinrich.
- 3:15>> Did I say that right? Pastor Hinrich
- 3:18Titus and he's a really he's become a
- 3:20really close friend. Uh he leads uh the
- 3:23chauffeur. Uh it's a movement of
- 3:25churches based in uh from Cape uh from
- 3:28South Africa. Let me say from South
- 3:29Africa. They have branches all over
- 3:30South Africa. They have branches many
- 3:32other places. Um and they are a
- 3:35spiritfilled spiritled movement that is
- 3:38doing some amazing things. When you meet
- 3:40with these people, when I met them, I
- 3:42just felt we have the same heart. Uh
- 3:44they love Jesus greatly. They are
- 3:46planting churches all over the place. Uh
- 3:48they have incredible student ministries.
- 3:50I can't wait for him to be able to
- 3:51speak. And one of the things I love
- 3:53about them is I just feel like there's a
- 3:55sense where through the history of their
- 3:57church, God has really taught them a lot
- 3:59about how to be a healthy church. Uh how
- 4:01to be healthy leaders. And I'm going to
- 4:03be I'm really looking forward to hearing
- 4:04them speak. Uh, Pastor Aaron Graham. I'm
- 4:08so grateful to have you, Pastor Aaron
- 4:10Graham. He This is a
- 9:00some being that has never read the Bible
- 9:03was to come into your workplace,
- 9:06what would they conclude as they saw the
- 9:08Christians around your workplace? What
- 9:11would they conclude that God expects
- 9:12from his people?
- 9:16>> I told you it would require some
- 9:17thinking.
- 9:19Suppose a million was watching the
- 9:20Christians in your workplace or around
- 9:22you, the marketplace around you, and
- 9:25they were to see how they operate. What
- 9:27would they conclude in their research
- 9:29that the God these people worship
- 9:30expects of them? I want you to talk to
- 9:33your neighbor for a minute and just tell
- 9:34them, "What do you think from just
- 9:36looking at Christians around you in the
- 9:38marketplace? What would an alien think
- 9:40that their God expects of them?"
- 9:45>> Some of you look like you don't have any
- 9:46Christians in your marketplace.
- 9:49Talk to your neighbor. Talk to your
- 9:50neighbor. Remember, divine connection
- 9:52could be happening right now.
- 9:55Yeah. Some alien was to come. WHAT WOULD
- 9:57THEY WHAT WOULD THEY THINK?
- 10:02What are some of the things they would
- 10:03imagine that this this people's God
- 10:06expects this from them?
- 10:15>> All right.
- 10:18Can you shout some answers?
- 10:21Just Yeah. What What has your neighbor
- 10:23told you if yours wasn't so bright?
- 10:28>> Excellence.
- 10:29>> The neighbors. Okay. Excellence. Uh-huh.
- 10:34>> Just looking at the real Christians
- 10:35around you. Uh-huh.
- 10:38>> Perform. They need to perform.
- 10:41mediocrity.
- 10:43>> They need to
- 10:45>> Oh, he said mediocrity. Somebody else
- 10:48said excellence. Uh-huh.
- 10:52>> That their God SAYS ABOUT NO, I'M NOT
- 10:55saying what they teach. I'm saying from
- 10:56looking at them and how they live.
- 11:01>> Laziness.
- 11:02>> Laziness. Somebody say
- 11:08>> undercover
- 11:10>> that they should never talk about their
- 11:12faith. They're undercover. All right.
- 11:16AHA. SHOUT IT. SHOUT IT. SHOUT IT.
- 11:19>> HUMILITY.
- 11:21OKAY. HUMILITY.
- 11:24>> JUDGMENTAL.
- 11:26>> Social media.
- 11:28>> That they preach on social media. All
- 11:30right. instead of the word
- 11:32>> or that they do social media instead of
- 11:34reading the word.
- 11:35>> All right,
- 11:37somebody's getting real now.
- 11:40>> What' you say?
- 11:42>> They sitting
- 11:45>> or fitting in that they fit in. Whatever
- 11:48the conversation is, they kind of try
- 11:50and blend in. They try and fit in. Very
- 11:52interesting. Uh-huh.
- 11:55>> timid,
- 11:56>> tolerant,
- 11:58>> fearful.
- 12:00judgmental,
- 12:02>> passive,
- 12:03>> lazy.
- 12:04>> Come on, you guys. You're so harsh.
- 12:06>> They use God as a scapegoat.
- 12:10>> They say, "I'll pray about it."
- 12:12>> They say, "I'll pray about it." When
- 12:14they're supposed to be doing something,
- 12:16[laughter]
- 12:18I'm going to come back to this question
- 12:20in a moment, but first of all, I'd like
- 12:23a volunteer who's running a a business
- 12:27that they would like people to know
- 12:28about. Anybody who's like that like they
- 12:30have to be here like in two seconds. If
- 12:31the person who has a business that Yeah.
- 12:33Yeah. Here they are. All right.
- 12:36By the way, can you just clap for this
- 12:38one? I mean,
- 12:40ask ask your neighbor what find what
- 12:42business are you running that you don't
- 12:43want church people to know about. Some
- 12:45of you might be distributing something
- 12:46that you don't talk about in church.
- 12:48Isn't it pastor CJ? What what what is
- 12:51your business about? What do you do
- 12:53business in?
- 12:54>> Okay. My business is Opportuno
- 12:55Consulting.
- 12:56>> Hey, come on. Opportun Consulting.
- 12:58Uh-huh.
- 12:58>> Why should we know about it? Why
- 13:00>> why should you know about it? Because
- 13:01anyone who is providing solutions
- 13:04in the world today needs a partner who
- 13:08can help them turn those solutions into
- 13:09revenue.
- 13:10>> Okay.
- 13:11>> Number two,
- 13:12>> so you help businesses take they
- 13:15whatever idea they have.
- 13:16>> Yes.
- 13:16>> And you turn them help them turn it into
- 13:18revenue.
- 13:19>> Okay.
- 13:19>> Now revenue is very hard to come by
- 13:23without proper systems and processes.
- 13:26>> Okay. So we help them organize their
- 13:28processes.
- 13:29>> So So you're the person who just comes
- 13:30in and helps the business take every
- 13:32process.
- 13:33>> Yes.
- 13:33>> Turn it into a an efficient process.
- 13:35>> Exactly.
- 13:36>> So anybody here who's running a business
- 13:37that wants to get make revenue, you're
- 13:39the man. Opportun consulting.
- 13:41>> Consulting.
- 13:41>> Free free advertising. Can you see how
- 13:43much like how much money worth do you
- 13:45think I've just given you right now?
- 13:46>> Quite a bit. There's another part.
- 13:47>> Oh, there's another part in it.
- 13:49>> Uhhuh. And then and we do that by
- 13:51ensuring that from the founder to the
- 13:54person who sweeps that they are trained,
- 13:57they are coached and they are trained,
- 14:01coached and [music] uh we do team
- 14:03building so that they part of a team.
- 14:04They know how to fit into a team.
- 14:06>> Okay. And you work with all sizes of
- 14:07companies.
- 14:07>> All sizes of companies.
- 14:08>> Fantastic.
- 14:09>> From million dollars all the way.
- 14:12>> Okay.
- 14:12>> Yeah.
- 14:13>> Does your neighbor look like million
- 14:14dollars or all the way?
- 14:16>> We can start. We can [laughter] start
- 14:17lower.
- 14:18>> Okay. All right. All right. All right.
- 14:19Don't don't judge. Don't judge. All
- 14:21right. So, Pastor CJ, I like your
- 14:23business.
- 14:24>> I've given you free advertising, but I
- 14:25also want to give you something else. I
- 14:27want to give you an opportunity here.
- 14:28>> Okay.
- 14:28>> If I was to want I want to invest in
- 14:31your business.
- 14:32>> Yes.
- 14:32>> And imagine I want to put in $1.5
- 14:36million.
- 14:37>> Yes.
- 14:38>> Over the next 5 years.
- 14:39>> Over the next 5 years. $1.5 million.
- 14:42>> Yeah.
- 14:42>> Okay.
- 14:43>> That's can do like 200 million, right?
- 14:47>> That's too much. Let's I reduce a bit.
- 14:49>> No, no, that's a good start. [laughter]
- 14:51>> Okay.
- 14:51>> It's a good start.
- 14:52>> So, okay. I want to invest that.
- 14:54>> So, first of all, why are you going to
- 14:56do that kind of money? Do you do you
- 14:57have an idea what you do that kind of
- 14:58money? Absolutely.
- 14:59>> Oh, you do? Okay.
- 15:00>> Yeah. We'll start by doing um uh
- 15:04physibility study for setting up [music]
- 15:08incubation centers in different outside
- 15:12of the capital city.
- 15:13>> Wow. Um mainly because there are many
- 15:16people doing businesses in suburbs, many
- 15:18people [music] doing businesses in
- 15:20different counties that do not have the
- 15:22same facilities for equipping for
- 15:25incubation and growing their businesses
- 15:27as we do.
- 15:28>> So you set up incubation centers
- 15:30>> set up incubations
- 15:30>> to help people run effective businesses
- 15:33where how how wide would your scope be?
- 15:35>> Well, I'll be looking at the start we
- 15:37would start with Kenya, different
- 15:38counties and then we'd look at East
- 15:40Africa as our nucleus. So you have So if
- 15:43I give you, you're not going to be
- 15:44worried about that kind of money. You
- 15:45you know what to do.
- 15:46>> No worry. In fact, it will just be for
- 15:48starting.
- 15:48>> All right. I love it. I love it. You
- 15:51know, there could be an investor here
- 15:53who's looking for a place to park money.
- 15:54So I mean, you never know. Somebody
- 15:55could have heard that. But what at the
- 15:59end of the of the time, and I like the
- 16:01plan. I love the idea of invest
- 16:03investing in businesses, young people,
- 16:06helping them start businesses. What
- 16:08should I expect as a for myself?
- 16:11>> Okay. [snorts]
- 16:12Why would I give you that kind of money?
- 16:13Like what would I expect to gain?
- 16:15>> So number one is that in our plan
- 16:19[music] there's a sustainability model.
- 16:21The goal is not that you keep giving us
- 16:23money for a long time but that at a
- 16:25certain point
- 16:25>> no I didn't say I'm giving you I said
- 16:26I'm investing.
- 16:27>> Okay. Investing. So the goal is not that
- 16:30we keep getting money from you and
- 16:32because it's an investment you're
- 16:33expecting a return. One of the things
- 16:35we'll be very clear about from the very
- 16:37start is what your expected [music]
- 16:39return will be and in how long. Okay.
- 16:42>> So even in our plan and in our our
- 16:45whatever proposal we'll be sharing with
- 16:46you'll give you an indication of how
- 16:50long we expect to return this. [music]
- 16:52We've got experts around us that would
- 16:54be able to help us do that. Okay.
- 16:55>> But the main goal here would give you a
- 16:58return perpetually as we [music] also
- 17:01provide impact. And so what we'll be
- 17:02looking at is partnership that then
- 17:05ensures that there's impact continually.
- 17:08So we are not looking [music] to have
- 17:09you just for a short time. 1.5 is just
- 17:11the entry money.
- 17:12>> We're looking to have you for a long
- 17:14time because hey the world still needs
- 17:17solutions.
- 17:17>> Wow. I love it. So if I at the end of
- 17:20the time I come to you and
- 17:23I've given you the time we agreed on
- 17:25there's nothing. I give you an extension
- 17:28there's nothing. What would you expect
- 17:30will happen to our relationship? Well,
- 17:32our relationship will definitely be
- 17:33strained.
- 17:34>> Um,
- 17:35>> and why do you think it'll get strained?
- 17:37>> Because you expected a return.
- 17:39>> Yeah.
- 17:39>> And we've not been able to deliver
- 17:42>> that return.
- 17:43>> Okay.
- 17:44>> God forbid. [laughter]
- 17:45>> God forbid.
- 17:47Have you seen a man ready?
- 17:50You know, when you need to be ready at
- 17:52Fearless. If somebody might come to you
- 17:54and ask you, I want to give you a
- 17:55million dollars. So, I hope you're ready
- 17:57with an answer because this man is
- 17:59ready. Can we just appreciate Pastor CJ?
- 18:02Thank you for helping me out. May the
- 18:04Lord provide that million, $1.5 million.
- 18:06>> Amen.
- 18:07>> May he provide it for your business.
- 18:08>> Amen.
- 18:09>> Yeah.
- 18:10>> I really love this man. Pastor CJ
- 18:13actually runs our business. He's
- 18:14actually the one running the business
- 18:15connect. And he's an amazing amazing
- 18:18businessman, but also has a passion for
- 18:20kingdom business. Now, he said a very
- 18:23interesting He said, "If I don't get a
- 18:25return, then we'll not our relationship
- 18:28will sour. It won't work. It won't stay
- 18:30the same." And he said a very
- 18:32interesting thing when I asked him why.
- 18:33He said, "Because you're expecting a
- 18:36return." You see, investors don't give
- 18:39you things because they like you.
- 18:43Investors don't give you things because
- 18:45you have nice hair.
- 18:49>> Investors invest in you because they're
- 18:51expecting
- 18:53a return.
- 18:56Now, is it possible that God of heaven
- 18:59operates on the exact same principles?
- 19:03>> I want us to look at the at God's word
- 19:05right now. Luke chapter 13
- 19:08verse 6-9.
- 19:10Luke 13:6-9. And the title of my message
- 19:13is I come seeking fruit.
- 19:17I come seeking
- 19:19>> fruit.
- 19:21Luke 13:6-9. Can we put that up? Can we
- 19:24read it together?
- 19:26>> Let's read it. Help me read. 1 2 3. A
- 19:28man had a fig tree growing in his
- 19:31vineyard, and he went to look for fruit
- 19:34on it, but did not find any. So he said
- 19:37to the man, I'm not hearing you read.
- 19:39Come on. Why are you giving the pastor
- 19:41all the work? So he said to the man who
- 19:43took care of the vineyard, "FOR 3 YEARS
- 19:46NOW, I've been coming to look for fruit
- 19:49on this fig tree and haven't found any.
- 19:53CUT IT DOWN. WHY SHOULD it use up the
- 19:56soil?"
- 19:58"Sir," the man replied, "Leave it alone
- 20:02for one more year, and I'll dig around
- 20:05it and fertilize it. If it bears fruit
- 20:09next year, fine. If not,
- 20:14it down.
- 20:16I want you to notice
- 20:19I'm looking for he did not come to see
- 20:21whether the tree was alive.
- 20:26He did not come to see if the tree was
- 20:28tall.
- 20:30He did not come to see if the tree had
- 20:32handsome leaves.
- 20:35>> He came looking for one thing only. AND
- 20:38WHAT WAS THAT?
- 20:39>> FRUIT. IT'S THE ONLY THING THAT HE
- 20:42WANTED. THE PURPOSE FOR THAT TREE. The
- 20:45reason why he planted it was because he
- 20:49wanted fruit.
- 20:52And here's the thing. IF YOU WERE TO
- 20:54LOOK AT THE LIVES of many Christians in
- 20:56the workplace today, you would believe
- 20:59THAT WHAT GOD IS LOOKING for is faithful
- 21:02employees who live holy lives.
- 21:07People who pray in the office, people
- 21:10who are humble, people who show up on
- 21:12time, people who do their work,
- 21:16people who attend lunch hour prayer
- 21:17meeting,
- 21:20YOU'LL PROBABLY THINK THAT WHEN YOU SAW
- 21:22IT and you would think that's what God
- 21:24is looking for. AND I I DON'T WANT TO
- 21:25SAY THESE THINGS DO MATTER, by the way.
- 21:27They're useful things. But God is not
- 21:30merely interested in our living good,
- 21:33holy lives. He's interested in one
- 21:37thing, fruitfulness.
- 21:40That's what he's looking for. He's
- 21:42looking for something eternal, something
- 21:45practical from OUR LIVES.
- 21:48GOD LOVES TO BLESS US. AND YOU KNOW, WE
- 21:50LOVE TO PRAY THE BLESSINGS. LORD, BLESS
- 21:52ME. By the way, how many people have
- 21:54prayed, Lord, bless me this year?
- 21:57YEAH. LORD, PROTECT ME. ANYBODY WHO'S
- 21:59PRAYED, LORD, protect me this year.
- 22:01YEAH. LORD, PROVIDE FOR ME. ANYBODY
- 22:03WHO'S PRAYED, PRO YEAH. YEAH. PRAY. We
- 22:05pray. And those of you who are not
- 22:06putting up your hands, you're lying.
- 22:08>> You're lying in church.
- 22:11In church. YEAH, WE PRAY THOSE PRAYERS.
- 22:15AND GOD LOVES TO BLESS US. GOD LOVES to
- 22:18provide for us. God loves to protect us.
- 22:22But you know, here's the thing. The
- 22:24owner is seeking fruit. The sole reason
- 22:28God planted you there was fruitfulness.
- 22:33The sole reason God planted you there.
- 22:37Are you seeing there in your mind? Are
- 22:40you visualizing where there is? Yeah.
- 22:42The sole reason why God planted you
- 22:44there was fruitfulness. Imagine you
- 22:47hired a salesperson for your business
- 22:49cuz it's growing and you really want it
- 22:52to to to to to grow and you you hire a
- 22:55salesperson and you bring this person on
- 22:57board and uh you give them a good
- 23:00salary, a good package and and they work
- 23:03and every day they show up in THE
- 23:04OFFICE, THEY'RE DRESSED up well like a
- 23:06salesperson should be and they have a
- 23:08nice cologne like you want your
- 23:10salesperson to have and they have nice
- 23:12hair well groomed like a salesperson
- 23:14should be. Hallelujah. Anybody? Are you
- 23:16visualizing your salesperson? And this
- 23:18person talks the talk like a salesperson
- 23:20should talk. They can sell ice to an
- 23:22Eskeimo. Come on, somebody.
- 23:25YEAH, YOU'VE GOT THE RIGHT SALESPERSON.
- 23:26THEY ARE PERFECT. THEY'RE DOING IT. AND
- 23:28THEY THEY THEY have the numbers. They
- 23:30have the flip charts. THEY HAVE THE
- 23:31DIAGRAMS.
- 23:33BUT AFTER A YEAR, you realize they have
- 23:35sold exactly
- 23:38nothing.
- 23:41>> What would you do with that person?
- 23:45Okay. Christians in church. They are
- 23:48they a Christian? Can I look? I'll be
- 23:51kind. No, you you fire them, right?
- 23:54>> Oh, you guys don't have businesses.
- 23:57What do you DO WITH THEM?
- 23:59>> YOU FIRE THEM.
- 24:01WHY DO YOU FIRE THEM?
- 24:04BECAUSE THE REASON YOU HIRED THEM WAS TO
- 24:07SELL, ISN'T IT? That's the reason
- 24:11they're IN YOUR COMPANY. THEY'RE NOT
- 24:13THERE TO LOOK GOOD. THEY'RE NOT THERE TO
- 24:14WEAR COLOGNE. They're not there TO HAVE
- 24:16FLIP CHARTS. ALL THOSE THINGS ARE GOOD
- 24:19and necessary, but they're not why you
- 24:21hired them. You hired them for fruit.
- 24:25And here's the thing I want to say.
- 24:28When you fire them, it's not because
- 24:31you're judging them. It's not because
- 24:33you're cruel. It's not because you're
- 24:35harsh.
- 24:37It's not because you don't believe in
- 24:39job creation.
- 24:41That's not the reason why you're firing
- 24:43them. You're firing them because the
- 24:45sole reason why you [music] hired them
- 24:48was to sell. And here's the thing, God
- 24:50works the same way. The reason he gave
- 24:54us that job was not to make us happy.
- 24:57Even though God likes us happy. Okay,
- 25:00stop looking so sad. God wants you to be
- 25:01happy.
- 25:03The reason God GAVE YOU THAT MONEY WAS
- 25:04NOT SO THAT JOB IS NOT SO YOU CAN HAVE
- 25:06MONEY. AGAIN, stop looking so sad. God
- 25:08wants you to have money. In fact, I
- 25:10believe many people in this church will
- 25:11have a lot of money. Hallelujah. YES.
- 25:14BUT THAT'S NOT THE REASON HE GAVE YOU
- 25:16THE JOB. IT WASN'T SO THAT YOU CAN HAVE
- 25:18A NICE COLOGNE. Does your neighbor have
- 25:19a nice cologne? Hallelujah.
- 25:21Tell them you're smelling. No, don't
- 25:22tell them that.
- 25:25It wasn't FOR THAT REASON. THOSE THINGS
- 25:27ARE GOOD. But the sole reason God
- 25:30planted you there was fruitfulness. The
- 25:33company you lead, the industry you're
- 25:35in, the clients you serve, the boardroom
- 25:38you sit in, the community where you
- 25:40live, NONE OF THOSE ARE ACCIDENTS. EVERY
- 25:43ONE OF THEM IS an appointment. And the
- 25:46reason God planted you there was
- 25:48fruitfulness. And by God's grace, many
- 25:52of us have achieved greatly in our
- 25:54careers.
- 25:56Some of the things we have received are
- 25:57things like titles, we have positions,
- 26:00we have degrees, we have followers, we
- 26:03have influence, we have networks, we
- 26:05have achievements, WE HAVE CONTRACTS, WE
- 26:07HAVE PROPERTIES, we have revenue, we
- 26:08have visibility, we have money. Come on,
- 26:10somebody.
- 26:12Yeah. Even if your neighbor is looking
- 26:13humble, don't be fooled.
- 26:16By the way, some of the people in this
- 26:17church, they can really you when you
- 26:19find out who they are, you're going to
- 26:20be shocked. Look at your neighbor. They
- 26:22looking very humble. In fact, I've come
- 26:24to realize in muno the more humble they
- 26:26look, the more you should be worried
- 26:27about them. Yeah, THERE ARE SOME VERY
- 26:29SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE IN this room
- 26:33AND GOD HAS BLESSED US IN MANY WAYS AND
- 26:36SOME OF US WE ARE TRUSTING GOD THAT
- 26:37he'll bless us in many ways. But what I
- 26:40want you to understand brothers and
- 26:41sisters TODAY IS THAT ALL THESE things
- 26:45are inputs.
- 26:47They are inputs.
- 26:49INPUTS ARE GOOD. INPUTS are important
- 26:53but they exist for a purpose. And Jesus
- 26:56says the owner was not impressed by the
- 26:58inputs. He was impressed by the outcome.
- 27:02He wanted fruit. Now our theme this year
- 27:04has to do with influencing the
- 27:06marketplace. And I've come to understand
- 27:08that the only way to do this, the only
- 27:11way to influence the marketplace is to
- 27:13go back to God's formula. Because we
- 27:15have to ask why God put us where he put
- 27:17us. The first command God gave to his
- 27:19people. Genesis 1:28, beful,
- 27:24be fruitful and multiply. That's the
- 27:26first command he puts to all to all
- 27:28humanity. God's intention was that we
- 27:30will be fruitful.
- 27:32Years later, Jesus begins to clarify
- 27:36what kingdom fruitfulness looks like.
- 27:38John 15:16, he says, "I chose you and I
- 27:43appointed you so that you MIGHT GO AND
- 27:46BEAR FRUIT, fruit that will last." In
- 27:51Matthew 28, Jesus explains to us what
- 27:54this fruit actually looks like. He gets
- 27:56even more granular here. He says what,
- 27:59"Therefore,
- 28:00go and make disciples of all nations."
- 28:05[music] In scripture, fruitfulness is
- 28:07about disciple making.
- 28:10That's what fruitfulness is about. It's
- 28:12about spiritual reproduction.
- 28:15It's about spiritual raising spiritual
- 28:18sons and daughters. It's about calling
- 28:21people to follow you as you follow
- 28:23Christ. That is what fruitfulness is.
- 28:27You know, the Bible tells us there are
- 28:29only two things in the world that last
- 28:31forever. Only two things. God's word and
- 28:35people,
- 28:37EVERYTHING ELSE WILL pass away. ALL THE
- 28:40PERKS, ALL THE WEALTH, ALL THE THINGS
- 28:44THAT WE HOLD on to so tightly, THEY WILL
- 28:46ALL PASS AWAY. TWO THINGS REMAIN. The
- 28:49only two things, two things that are
- 28:52eternal. Look at your neighbor. Tell
- 28:54them, "You're going to see me for a
- 28:56long, long time.
- 29:01YOU'RE AN ETERNAL BEING.
- 29:04YOU'RE THE ONLY THING IN THIS ROOM
- 29:06THAT'S ETERNAL.
- 29:08PEOPLE, God's word. Those are the only
- 29:11two things Jesus says. Fruit that will
- 29:14last. Let me tell you, brothers and
- 29:16sisters, buildings don't last forever.
- 29:21Companies don't last forever.
- 29:25Positions don't last forever.
- 29:29YEAH. YOUR PHONE WILL NOT RING FOREVER.
- 29:34very humbling
- 29:36you know I was recently on a sabbatical
- 29:39for four for 4 months I was away from
- 29:41Auno church
- 29:43and I told them guys
- 29:46don't call me and I really meant it
- 29:49don't call me and these guys took me
- 29:51seriously so they stopped calling and I
- 29:55remember after about two weeks they
- 29:57became too good at it
- 30:00and I'd wake up in the morning there's
- 30:01no text on my
- 30:02Nobody has called me. Nobody has checked
- 30:04on me. Nobody even knows I'm there. And
- 30:06I began to realize, "OMG
- 30:11just like that." Have you heard of how
- 30:13people get depressed when they retire?
- 30:16>> Yeah.
- 30:18Your position right now looks LIKE A
- 30:19VERY IMPORTANT THING.
- 30:22I had the privilege of of of visiting uh
- 30:25Egypt and going to the pyramids.
- 30:28And anybody who's going to the pyramids,
- 30:30those things were spectacular. I say
- 30:32they were spectacular because they are
- 30:34still spectacular today. They are the
- 30:36most monumental graves that have ever
- 30:38been made. And they all, every one of
- 30:40them, and by the way, there are
- 30:41thousands of them across Egypt and
- 30:43Sudan. And each of them commemorated the
- 30:45most powerful man in the world. And when
- 30:48that person was buried,
- 30:50everybody stopped. THE WHOLE WORLD
- 30:53STOPPED. EVERYBODY KNEW THIS ONE, THEIR
- 30:55name will last forever.
- 30:58In fact, THEY WERE BURIED WITH servants
- 31:00and slaves because people are like the
- 31:01whole country, somebody has to die. You
- 31:03know, this guy is too big a death
- 31:07LIKE THEY WERE SO IMPORTANT IN THEIR
- 31:08TIME. BUT HERE'S THE THING I CAME to
- 31:10realize. Most of them people don't even
- 31:14know who they are.
- 31:17Like today, THEY KNOW OF A HANDFUL of
- 31:19them that they found before the grave
- 31:21robbers got there, but most people don't
- 31:23even know who those people were. And
- 31:26often they're not even sure when they
- 31:27ruled.
- 31:29NOTHING LASTS FOREVER EXCEPT two things.
- 31:32God's word and people. And the most
- 31:36thing the most important thing you can
- 31:37do with your life is to invest your life
- 31:40in bringing God's word into people's
- 31:43lives. That's what lasts forever. That's
- 31:46what fruitfulness is about. The master
- 31:50wants fruitfulness. You know, I want to
- 31:51say this for a long time. This this this
- 31:54was a revelation for me. I didn't always
- 31:56know this. I thought I did. Years ago,
- 31:59we started the fearless summit. And I
- 32:01remember just having such a passion, a
- 32:03burning passion. God had given us this
- 32:05vision turning ordinary people into
- 32:07fearless influencers of society. And I
- 32:09was so convinced about this. I was sure
- 32:11that the whole purpose of the church to
- 32:13raise sons and daughter to raise men and
- 32:15women to equip them and to send them out
- 32:18into society. And we talked about that.
- 32:20Fearless became the place where we
- 32:22pointed people into society. It was
- 32:24brilliant. Everybody loved it. IT WORKED
- 32:26GREAT. MANY PEOPLE GOT INSPIRED AT
- 32:28FEARLESS AND THEY WENT AFTER Fearless
- 32:30into the marketplace. Started
- 32:31initiatives, great initiatives. By the
- 32:34way, we became famous across the world
- 32:35because of those initiatives.
- 32:38But years later, a truth that I could
- 32:41not escape began to dawn on me. Many of
- 32:43those people, they went into the world
- 32:46to change the world with passion for the
- 32:49world. But a few years later, the world
- 32:51changed them.
- 32:54Some of them started NOS's that were so
- 32:57full of the spirit and so FULL OF FIRE
- 32:59INSPIRED and they went there and they
- 33:02started getting money from different
- 33:04foundations and different organizations
- 33:06and some of them would tell them tone
- 33:07down
- 33:11this Christ thing so much. And very soon
- 33:14they started operating just like any
- 33:16other endure. Yes, THEY WERE DOING GREAT
- 33:17THINGS, but they were not investing in
- 33:20fruitfulness, THINGS THAT WILL LAST. YOU
- 33:24KNOW, IF YOU TAKE MONEY INTO A POOR
- 33:26COMMUNITY and you make rich people,
- 33:27you're raising rich fools.
- 33:31>> Yeah, IT'S THE TRUTH. YES, YOU'VE GIVEN
- 33:33THEM SOME TEMPORAL PLEASURE, temporal
- 33:36release, BUT IT'S LIKE YOU'RE FATTENING
- 33:38THEM FOR THE SLAUGHTER. YOU'RE NOT
- 33:40HELPING THEM GET READY FOR HEAVEN OR FOR
- 33:43THE THINGS THAT really count. There's no
- 33:45eternity in the work. And I'm not saying
- 33:47God isn't pleased with that. It's a
- 33:49beautiful thing. You're doing it. You're
- 33:50you're you're relieving people. That's
- 33:52part of what Christians do. But we have
- 33:53a bigger mandate. The master wants
- 33:56fruit.
- 33:58And so I I began to say, "This isn't
- 34:00working." And I was so discouraged. At
- 34:03one point, Pastor Kura, he's our CEO for
- 34:05Fearless. He'll tell you. I I I told
- 34:07him, "We're shutting down Fearless."
- 34:09Because I felt like what I was doing as
- 34:10a pastor is preparing people to kill
- 34:12them. I'm sending people into the firing
- 34:15squad and the world shoots them down. We
- 34:18raise people to be politicians. They go
- 34:20out there, politics just corrupts them.
- 34:22Raise people to be business people, they
- 34:23get rich and then money. Have you ever
- 34:25seen that? Pastors, have you ever seen
- 34:27that? You pray for them, they get rich,
- 34:29and then they forget church.
- 34:32On Sunday, they're too busy to be in
- 34:33church. You know how busy pastor
- 34:35nowadays I have appointments with the
- 34:37CEO and we only have board meetings on
- 34:39Sundays. And also, it's a time I can
- 34:41walk my dog in Kura. You know, it's like
- 34:43it's like all of a sudden the things
- 34:45that the things that you THAT BROUGHT
- 34:47THEM UP, THEY FORGOTTEN ABOUT THEM. And
- 34:50I began to understand there was
- 34:51something we were doing wrong. And the
- 34:54the thing that God showed me is we were
- 34:56trying to change a system with
- 34:58individuals.
- 35:01Individuals don't change systems.
- 35:03Systems change systems.
- 35:06You need another system to change the
- 35:08broken system of the world. And
- 35:10disciplehip is God's system.
- 35:13It's a system that God raises
- 35:16communities, like-minded communities,
- 35:19communities that support one another,
- 35:21PEOPLE WHO THINK TOGETHER, PEOPLE WHO
- 35:22CAN ALIGN TOGETHER AND they can go out
- 35:25and bring life to a dying world. And
- 35:28that's why we changed Fearless Summit
- 35:30and we started focusing on a completely
- 35:32different focus. We stopped inviting
- 35:34speakers who would just inspire us to go
- 35:36out and die in the marketplace. No, no.
- 35:39all respect. They are great Christians
- 35:41doing great things. But I began to focus
- 35:44more on inviting people who can help us
- 35:46understand how to bear fruits
- 35:50and to create systems that actually
- 35:52change the world. God's people, I
- 35:54believe we're on the verge right now of
- 35:55seeing some incredible systems coming
- 35:56out of this church. Yeah. I believe that
- 35:59some of the economic revolution that is
- 36:01coming is going to be a sustainable
- 36:03revolution. God is going to raise
- 36:05millionaires and billionaires in this
- 36:06community and in the church. the sister
- 36:08churches around us. Yeah, it's going to
- 36:11happen. It's it's by the way, it's
- 36:13inevitable because systems are the ones
- 36:15that change systems. And I believe that
- 36:17God is giving us the key through
- 36:19disciplehip for fruitfulness.
- 36:22That when we when we build those
- 36:25systems, that's how we end corruption.
- 36:27This is actually how Africa's corruption
- 36:29will end. It's when there's a system
- 36:30that stands because corruption is a
- 36:32system. My friends, corruption is a
- 36:34system. Kenyans, you don't look like you
- 36:36understand what I'm saying in this
- 36:38country. I mean, corruption is a it's a
- 36:40problem all over the world. In Kenya, it
- 36:42is a principality.
- 36:44Yeah, IT'S A PROBLEM. AND WE'RE NOT
- 36:46GOING TO CHANGE it by being nice.
- 36:49We're not going to change it by
- 36:50intercession.
- 36:52You know, there are some Christians who
- 36:53are praying and praying that corruption
- 36:54ends in this country. Prayer will not
- 36:56end corruption.
- 36:58>> Disciplehip will end corruption. Yeah.
- 37:02It's when we go into that office and we
- 37:04start to raise a culture. We get one
- 37:06person and change their thinking and we
- 37:08get another person and we change their
- 37:10thinking and together we start changing.
- 37:12We start spreading the light in a dark
- 37:14place. AND PRETTY SOON EVERYBODY KNOWS
- 37:16SOMEBODY WHO IS NOT standing for
- 37:18corruption. EVERYBODY KNOWS SOMEBODY.
- 37:20WHEN WHEN I'M STUCK I CALL MY FRIEND AND
- 37:22that friend says, "Yes, bring it. I'll
- 37:23sign it. I you don't have to pay me to
- 37:25sign it." And pretty soon THERE'S A
- 37:27WHOLE DEPARTMENT that is known for
- 37:28righteousness in this corrupt
- 37:29institution. AND FROM THE INSIDE OUT, WE
- 37:32CHANGE THIS CORRUPT nation and we raise
- 37:35it up. And the kingdoms of this world
- 37:37become the kingdoms of our God and our
- 37:39King. This is what God is calling us to
- 37:41do. And I believe it will happen because
- 37:44now we are focusing on fruitfulness. You
- 37:48can't change a system with individuals.
- 37:50You change a system with another system.
- 37:53Now, there's something that I want you
- 37:54to notice, and this is an encouraging
- 37:56thing here. The owner did not
- 38:00he did not condemn the fruit the tree
- 38:03because it was a mango tree that was not
- 38:06bearing pineapples.
- 38:09Have you noticed that he did not condemn
- 38:12a a mango tree for not bearing
- 38:14pineapples? Assuming it was a fig tree,
- 38:18he he condemned it because it was not
- 38:20bearing what?
- 38:21>> FIGS.
- 38:23YOU KNOW, IT'S VERY interesting that
- 38:25sometimes we get to hear all this stuff
- 38:26and we're thinking, "But I can't be like
- 38:28so and so." Listen, God is not asking
- 38:31you to be like so and so. God wants you
- 38:33to be you. There is a mission field that
- 38:36only you can take over for the kingdom.
- 38:39There are people who only you can bring
- 38:42into the kingdom of God. There's a PLACE
- 38:44THAT ONLY YOU THEY CAN LISTEN TO. THEY
- 38:46WILL NOT even listen to a big pastor on
- 38:48this stage. YOU HAVE ACCESS TO PEOPLE
- 38:52AND TO RESOURCES THAT NOBODY ELSE IN
- 38:54THIS CHURCH HAS. AND GOD WILL not hold
- 38:57you accountable for not being Pastor M.
- 38:59God will hold you accountable for not
- 39:01being the appoint the the the apostle,
- 39:04the person that he put in that
- 39:06marketplace to represent him. And I love
- 39:09that because it means that all of us are
- 39:12different. SOME OF US ARE LOUD.
- 39:14SANGUIN'S IN THE HOUSE.
- 39:18Praise God for you. But you know the
- 39:20most exciting thing, we don't all have
- 39:22to be sanguins.
- 39:24>> Yeah, we don't.
- 39:27The the melancholics in the house, there
- 39:28are some things that you can do that the
- 39:30sanguins cannot do.
- 39:31>> Yeah, I love that.
- 39:34FLEGMATICS, I'M SO HAPPY YOU DON'T HAVE
- 39:36TO BE CALLERICS.
- 39:38By the way, there are some things that
- 39:39there are some people callerics can't
- 39:40reach
- 39:42because they need wisdom. You know the
- 39:44problem with clerics? They just push
- 39:45through. Yeah. afflegatics. They know
- 39:47how to work with all kinds of people and
- 39:49they are so gentle with people and there
- 39:50are people they reach. There are people
- 39:51you can reach that nobody else can
- 39:53reach. My my pastor who who brought me
- 39:55up in the ministry was a melancholic uh
- 39:59calleric melancholic bishop Oscar and he
- 40:01was a driver and you know I learned to
- 40:05be like that
- 40:07but I'm actually a sanguin. I'm a happy
- 40:09golucky.
- 40:11I really like having a good time.
- 40:14I I am I know it's because of what he
- 40:17did. I mean like I was discipled well so
- 40:19I look like my DISCIPLER BUT THE REALITY
- 40:21IS I'M NOT MY disciper and the biggest
- 40:24realization and joy in life is one day
- 40:26when I realize I don't have to be Bishop
- 40:28Oscar. I can be Pastor M and God will
- 40:30bless me as I am. In fact, I began to
- 40:33realize there's a genius that Pastor M
- 40:35has that nobody else around him has. And
- 40:38if I just focus on being me with the
- 40:40gifts God HAS GIVEN ME, THAT'S all that
- 40:42God requires of me. Come on, somebody.
- 40:44YEAH. LOOK AT YOUR NEIGHBOR. THAT'S THE
- 40:46PERSON GOD WANTS THEM TO BE. YEAH. TELL
- 40:49THEM YOU ARE BRILLIANT AS YOU ARE.
- 40:52AH, there's someone who's not looking
- 40:53convinced at the back. Look at them.
- 40:55Tell them he's talking about you.
- 40:57Yeah.
- 41:02There's a there's a there's a lovely
- 41:04lady who was going to bring me a chair.
- 41:06Is it here?
- 41:07Can you bring me that nice chair?
- 41:10There's there's a there's a view that we
- 41:14must redefine. And I believe that God
- 41:16wants to change our paradigm here at
- 41:18Fearless Summit. I asked them to get me
- 41:20a chair
- 41:22because for me, this chair Thank you.
- 41:24Just put it over here. This chair.
- 41:29Can I have a volunteer?
- 41:32Somebody just to Yeah. Thank you. Thank
- 41:34you. Thank you. Yeah. Thank you.
- 41:37Come on, let's appreciate my daughter
- 41:38here who's Pastor Marian. This this
- 41:42chair represents a position.
- 41:48Pastor Marion has just been appointed as
- 41:51the managing director, CEO, board chair
- 41:58>> of the international multiclobal
- 42:00corporation
- 42:03>> in charge of Middle East and Africa. Is
- 42:05that okay?
- 42:06>> So that's what the chess represents.
- 42:08She's a member of your church. So please
- 42:10sit sit. That's your uh sit. Sit. Sit.
- 42:12Can we can you just look at her? This is
- 42:14your member. She has she has received
- 42:16promotion.
- 42:18WHAT DO MOST PEOPLE SEE WHEN THEY SEE
- 42:19THAT promotion immediately? What are you
- 42:21expecting? Will change in her life?
- 42:23Money. She's about to get some serious
- 42:26money, right? What else are you seeing
- 42:28here?
- 42:29BENEFITS. SHE'LL BE FLYING first class.
- 42:32You know, DO YOU KNOW THOSE GUYS WHO
- 42:33WENT ON THE PLANE fast
- 42:35>> and then they turn left and you've never
- 42:38known what happens left? HASHI WILL KNOW
- 42:40WHAT ELSE IS GOING TO HAPPEN IN HER
- 42:42LIFE.
- 42:44She'll be driving.
- 42:47You know those cars that go like you
- 42:49turn them like this. You don't do this
- 42:51like yours. You know, she'll be all
- 42:52right. What else is she What's going to
- 42:54happen in her life?
- 42:56>> Power.
- 42:57SHE'S GOING TO BE SPEAKING AND PEOPLE
- 42:59RUN,
- 43:01>> isn't it? THAT'S ABOUT TO CHANGE. WHAT
- 43:03ELSE ABOUT TO CHANGE?
- 43:05>> INFLUENCE. SHE'S GOING TO BE ABLE TO
- 43:07SPEAK AND PEOPLE WANT TO DO EVERYTHING
- 43:09SHE WANTS to say. So, SHE HAS INFLUENCE.
- 43:10PEOPLE WANT TO TALK TO HER. IMPORTANT
- 43:12PEOPLE ARE GOING TO BE TALKING TO HER.
- 43:13ARE YOU BEGINNING TO SEE HOW exciting
- 43:14this is? Anything else?
- 43:18Oh, you are seeing tithe. There'll be
- 43:20tithe in the church. Ah, yeah. Pastor is
- 43:22saying there'll be tithe. Him is so
- 43:24excited. Tithe is about to increase in
- 43:25my church. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, pastor. Why
- 43:28are you pretending you don't think about
- 43:29tith in your church? It's true. You're
- 43:32happy about that. Okay. Now, we're
- 43:34looking at all these things. Position,
- 43:36TITLE, INFLUENCE, ALL THESE THINGS.
- 43:39WE'RE EXCITED. THIS IS POWER. PROXIMITY
- 43:41TO POWER.
- 43:43You know what the Holy Spirit is looking
- 43:45at when he walks around this chair?
- 43:48He's saying, "That's your mission field.
- 43:53That is your mission field.
- 43:57What looks like promotion, what looks
- 43:59like power, what looks like money, Holy
- 44:01Spirit is saying, I've handed you a new
- 44:04mission field.
- 44:07And in that mission field, I've given
- 44:10you opportunity. There's an opportunity
- 44:12to influence, an opportunity to make
- 44:16disciples at another level, [music] an
- 44:18opportunity to hire the right people who
- 44:20are disciple makers. An opportunity to
- 44:23bring God's kingdom influence into this
- 44:25company. An opportunity to speak to
- 44:27people that your pastor could never
- 44:28speak to. An opportunity TO WALK INTO
- 44:31SPACES NO CHRISTIAN WALKS INTO
- 44:33COMFORTABLY AND TO MAKE AN ALTAR OF GOD
- 44:35IN THAT PLACE THAT THE LIGHT OF GOD IS
- 44:37GOING TO shine into that place. An
- 44:39opportunity to raise many other
- 44:41Christians into positions of influence
- 44:43like yourself. that power, that thing
- 44:47that you're celebrating as a promotion,
- 44:49God sees a mission field.
- 44:52>> Amen.
- 44:54>> Are you happy with your mission field?
- 44:56>> Are you going to be faithful? Amen.
- 44:58Let's appreciate Pastor Marian. Amen.
- 45:04Ask your neighbor, what's your mission
- 45:06field?
- 45:13I love the final part of this story. I'm
- 45:15I'm about to conclude.
- 45:18The owner says, "Cut it down."
- 45:23Is he being harsh?
- 45:27Remember we said no. He has every right
- 45:29because no investor invest for fun. You
- 45:32invest because
- 45:35you want return. When you put money into
- 45:38an investment, what do you want? You
- 45:41want profit. When you when you put hours
- 45:44into your job and your career, what do
- 45:46you want? You want promotion, isn't it?
- 45:49You're not in the You're not in the
- 45:50company because you like your boss. Even
- 45:52if you like your boss, you're there for
- 45:54a reason. There's something YOU'RE
- 45:55EXPECTING. WHEN YOU STAY UP ALL NIGHT
- 45:57WATCHING YOUR favorite football team,
- 45:59what do you expect?
- 46:01Some of you, I know what you're doing
- 46:02last night. This is why you're almost
- 46:05sleeping in the house of God.
- 46:07BUT YOU DIDN'T WATCH THAT TEAM BECAUSE
- 46:08YOU JUST LIKE THEM. YOU WATCH THEM
- 46:09BECAUSE YOU WANT GOALS, ISN'T IT? WE
- 46:12INVEST BECAUSE WE WANT RETURN.
- 46:14And the owner says,
- 46:16"Don't say that, Pastor Carol. You get
- 46:19us kicked out of our church." She says,
- 46:21"Unless you're from us and all." All
- 46:22right. [cheering]
- 46:25She said it, not me.
- 46:29[laughter]
- 46:30[sighs]
- 46:31WE DON'T INVEST FOR FUN. You invest for
- 46:33return. And so when God says cut it
- 46:36down, that actually is a judgment on
- 46:40that marketplace Christian who has been
- 46:42enjoying the perks of the workplace, who
- 46:45has been chasing the promotions, who has
- 46:47been focusing on being a good employee,
- 46:49but has no thought of fruitfulness, and
- 46:52the master comes and looks at you and
- 46:53says, "Cut it down. It's time to take
- 46:56this one home."
- 46:58But I love what happens next in this
- 47:00passage. But the master doesn't come
- 47:03alone. He comes with a gardener. He
- 47:07comes with an advocate. He comes with a
- 47:10legal representative to represent this
- 47:13tree. AND THE GARDENER SAYS, "PLEASE
- 47:15DON'T CUT IT. GIVE ME ONE MORE YEAR.
- 47:20ALLOW ME SOME TIME. LET ME DIG around
- 47:24the roots. LET ME FERTILIZE. GIVE ME ONE
- 47:27YEAR AND I BELIEVE I WILL SEE SOME
- 47:29FRUIT." PRAISE GOD THAT YOU HAVE AN
- 47:31ADVOCATE.
- 47:33Praise God that Jesus lives TO INTERCEDE
- 47:35FOR US in the heavenlies. And right now
- 47:38I BELIEVE JESUS IS SAYING ALLOW THEM TO
- 47:40COME FOR FEARLESS SUMMIT. LORD GIVE ME
- 47:42ONE MORE FEARLESS. GIVE ME ONE MORE
- 47:44OPPORTUNITY. I will fertilize.
- 47:47I WILL BLESS. I WILL GIVE RESOURCE
- 47:50BECAUSE I BELIEVE THAT fruitfulness will
- 47:53come from this tree. Yet I love my
- 47:56advocate. He doesn't give excuses for
- 47:58me. He doesn't say look look he's
- 48:00trying. He doesn't say look look THERE
- 48:03COULD BE FRUITS coming out any time. He
- 48:05doesn't say that. No excuses. But he
- 48:08says he by the way he doesn't even say
- 48:09give the tree more time. This is where
- 48:12grace comes in. Jesus says give me more
- 48:16time. Give me time. I believe that our
- 48:21advocate is saying I may expect fruit
- 48:24from you but I'm committed to help you
- 48:27with that fruit.
- 48:29I'm committed to walk with you. I love
- 48:32that about our God. He doesn't just
- 48:34expect things of us, but he gives us the
- 48:37help to make sure that we come up with
- 48:39our fruitfulness. Jesus is in this room
- 48:41today. I believe I'm one who has
- 48:44received a second chance for
- 48:45fruitfulness. Today, as we're having
- 48:48confession time, I remember Pastor Koni
- 48:50led us to pray confession prayers for
- 48:52lack of fruitfulness. And my confession
- 48:55God's people was I said, "God, I wish I
- 48:57knew what I knew now." 10 years ago, 15
- 49:01years ago, I wish I knew about
- 49:03disciplehip the way I know now. I feel
- 49:05like there are people in Maveno who went
- 49:07out and imploded because I wasn't there
- 49:09to disciple them. I didn't put a system
- 49:11around them. I sent out individuals. I
- 49:13say, "God, forgive me. Forgive me. I
- 49:16wish I knew as a pastor WHAT I KNOW NOW.
- 49:18IF I KNEW WHAT I KNOW NOW, 10 YEARS, 15
- 49:20YEARS AGO, WE WOULD BE SO FAR.
- 49:24And I sense Jesus says, I'm your
- 49:27advocate. I'm a God of a second chance.
- 49:30Yeah. I'm still with you. The latter
- 49:33temple was great, but the one that is
- 49:36coming will be greater. And I look
- 49:39around now and I see sons and daughters
- 49:40who are rising up in this movement. I
- 49:42see amazing sons and daughters who God
- 49:44is rising up. I see people here. I
- 49:47remember one of them I was talking to I
- 49:49would I won't mention I don't have a
- 49:51permission to share this story but she
- 49:53got promoted and she entered into a
- 49:56position that man she was so impressed
- 49:58by that position and she when she when
- 50:01they were interviewing her the first
- 50:03thing she said because she's a disciple
- 50:04she said uh pastor not pastor boss
- 50:08bosses thank you for this offer one
- 50:11thing I need to tell you right from the
- 50:13get-go I'm a pastor in Maveno church so
- 50:16weekends I don't do board meetings and I
- 50:18don't do anything outside my 8 to5
- 50:22Monday to Friday and of course that's a
- 50:25career ending move in most places but
- 50:28she said it with such confidence such
- 50:30authority such gentleness that the
- 50:33employer said I like the confidence of
- 50:35this one she was hired for that position
- 50:37just just authority as a as a disciple
- 50:40she knows who she is and then this
- 50:42disciple say the the boss called her
- 50:44several times to test this resolve and
- 50:46she said, "I don't work on weekends. You
- 50:47understand? I'm a pastor. I'm so now
- 50:50they call her the bishop of the
- 50:51organization." And she proudly wears
- 50:53that title. And and and and and she had
- 50:56an idea. She gave it to her boss and she
- 50:58she she didn't care about the idea. She
- 51:00thought this is a something a loss some
- 51:02lost a place that the organization is
- 51:03not doing well. She gave this idea to
- 51:05the boss and and and the boss loved the
- 51:07idea. Said, "Put a few notes for me
- 51:09down." She wrote the notes down and sent
- 51:11it to the boss. The boss was so
- 51:12impressed he took the idea to to the
- 51:15board. And the board said, "Start a
- 51:17whole new department. Start a whole new
- 51:20uh uh uh uh division for this uh idea."
- 51:23And the boss looked and they said, "Who
- 51:25shall lead it?" And the boss said, "She
- 51:27should lead it." She came up with the
- 51:28idea. Come on guys, this is Joseph. THIS
- 51:31IS DANIEL. THIS IS THIS IS MODERNDAY
- 51:35DISCIPLES taking over THE MARKETPLACE.
- 51:37SO NOW THIS DISCIPLE OF THEY HAVE an
- 51:40opportunity right now. They're starting
- 51:41a whole different department for this
- 51:43organization. And one of the things we
- 51:46came and had a coaching time, we're just
- 51:47chatting. And I say to her, now you know
- 51:49who you have, what the first step you
- 51:50have to do, you have to hire the right
- 51:52people. And I say to her, there are
- 51:54people in this community. You need to
- 51:57hire them. Why? Because you need to
- 51:58surround yourself with agents of light
- 52:01because you've be given a foothold into
- 52:03that place. Now, it's time for you to
- 52:05start to take over. The person said,
- 52:06"Done, and we're going." Listen, this is
- 52:09not an isolated Christian who's caught
- 52:11up with power. This is a Christian who
- 52:13understands who they are because they're
- 52:14grounded in their community. They're a
- 52:16disciple. THEY HAVE A SYSTEM BEHIND
- 52:18THEM. AND BECAUSE of that, the world is
- 52:21about to change. That company is about
- 52:23to change. This is the power of
- 52:26disciplehip. This is what we must become
- 52:28about. The sole reason God invested in
- 52:31you was fruitfulness. I'm going to give
- 52:34you one historical story, then I'm going
- 52:36to conclude. I'm going to close. In the
- 52:39late 18th century, there was a father
- 52:41and a son named Henry and John Van. I
- 52:46don't know if you've heard of them,
- 52:48Henry and John Van. They had a passion
- 52:51to see their nation change. They were in
- 52:53England and at that time England was a
- 52:55cesspool of corruption. They looked at
- 52:58the c the British Empire. They saw deep
- 53:00moral decay. Children were oppressed
- 53:04through harsh uh uh they they had this
- 53:06thing child labor. Children working in
- 53:08factories. If you've ever read Oliver
- 53:10Twist, I mean children, little children
- 53:12were put in coal mines and in factories
- 53:14and abused. Prisoners were treated with
- 53:16cruelty. There was no rehabilitation at
- 53:18all in the British penal system. The
- 53:20economy was extremely dependent on the
- 53:23cruel, inhumane transatlantic slave
- 53:27trade. I mean the slave trade was so
- 53:29intertwined with the British Empire. The
- 53:32royal family was in it. I mean,
- 53:33everybody was in it. And it was like the
- 53:36lifeblood of the empire. It looked like
- 53:38it would be impossible to ever end that.
- 53:40They looked at the rich and the rich in
- 53:42the country were driven by greed and
- 53:44corruption. Alcoholism and gambling were
- 53:48rife in their country. Like families
- 53:50were broken. Illiteracy was THE NORM.
- 53:53THE POOR HAD ADDICT. THE POOR WERE just
- 53:55completely disregarded. Nobody cared for
- 53:57the poor in those countries. In that
- 53:59country. Does that sound like some
- 54:00countries you know today?
- 54:02And like many of us, they looked at
- 54:05their broken nation and they wished,
- 54:07they prayed that God would do something
- 54:09about it. But here's the thing that they
- 54:11knew that the world often forgets today.
- 54:14That God's genius strategy to change the
- 54:17world is never a solo brilliant act. It
- 54:20is a faithful disciplehip community. And
- 54:23so what Henry and John did is uh John
- 54:25the son became the pastor of a little
- 54:27town of of a small church in a village
- 54:30called Clap Humpham just outside London.
- 54:33And this man didn't just preach on
- 54:35Sundays but they started to build a
- 54:37disciplehip community. They included
- 54:39Christians of different professions.
- 54:41They had people in that community who
- 54:43are lawyers, who are bankers, who are
- 54:44politicians. And they helped them. They
- 54:46began to disciple THESE PEOPLE. THEY GOT
- 54:48THEM TO move into the same neighborhood
- 54:50so they can actually be a community
- 54:52together. And these people opened their
- 54:54homes every week to one another. They
- 54:56studied the Bible. They praised God
- 54:58together. They spoke about their careers
- 55:00and how their careers can begin to
- 55:02change, become a change agent to the
- 55:04world, to the city that they were in.
- 55:05They sat around dinner tables, prayed
- 55:07together, studied scripture, and they
- 55:09held each other accountable. Some of the
- 55:11wealthy bankers, some of the wealthy
- 55:13people in the group now began to
- 55:14dedicate. One of the wealthy men in the
- 55:16group actually a businessman. He put 80%
- 55:18of his wealth into the group. He said,
- 55:20"I'm going to be earning living on 20%.
- 55:22I will invest in our community. And
- 55:24because of the resources of the wealthy,
- 55:26the ones who are doing well, the whole
- 55:28community was able to form advocacy
- 55:30groups, they were able to do public
- 55:32relations, they were able to start to do
- 55:34things together. Some of the people who
- 55:35wanted to become politicians were
- 55:37encouraged. One of the young people who
- 55:38was encouraged to become a politician
- 55:40was a man called uh William Wilberforce.
- 55:42Uh many of you may have heard of William
- 55:44Wilberforce. And they began to see their
- 55:46market careers, their marketplace
- 55:48careers, not as paths for wealth, but as
- 55:52marketplace, mission places. They began
- 55:55to realize God put them in the
- 55:56marketplace as a mission place. And the
- 55:59result, can I tell you what the result
- 56:01of this small group became? Because this
- 56:03community changed the world we live in.
- 56:06You see, they they transformed
- 56:08completely the British Empire. Because
- 56:11of them this slave trade was actually
- 56:14completely banned. In fact, John
- 56:16Wilberforce it it was banned the week
- 56:18before he died. It was his life work.
- 56:20And when he died, he died having heard
- 56:22the words this thing has been abolished.
- 56:25It means they had to go against powers
- 56:27that they were he was almost
- 56:28assassinated several times because this
- 56:30thing was so entrenched. Not only did
- 56:32they end the slave trade, they also
- 56:34ended slavery. Basically slavery among
- 56:37in in the British Empire was completely
- 56:39ended uh because of these people. Uh
- 56:41they launched schools for the poor. As a
- 56:43result, the school system now began to
- 56:45include everybody, not just the children
- 56:47of the rich. They pioneered prison
- 56:49reforms. The entire moral fabric of the
- 56:52British Empire changed. I mean, history
- 56:55books would tell you that Britain ended
- 56:57up becoming completely different from
- 56:59France and many countries in the
- 57:01continent where they even killed their
- 57:02their leaders. But it's because of this
- 57:05small group. Many people tell you they
- 57:07were strate they were strategic
- 57:08geniuses. But actually those of us who
- 57:10know the Lord, we know exactly what they
- 57:12were. They were disciple makers. They
- 57:14walked into the marketplace and they
- 57:16changed it because they had a system
- 57:18that could change a system. Come on
- 57:20people. This thing actually works. This
- 57:23thing actually works.
- 57:25So my challenge to you as I conclude,
- 57:28you must stop trying to survive the
- 57:29marketplace alone.
- 57:31Stop trying to be a solo jack bower.
- 57:35Yeah. Fearless in the marketplace. YOU
- 57:37WILL DIE. TELL YOUR NEIGHBOR. YOU'LL
- 57:38DIE. YEAH. This marketplace is not
- 57:41waiting patiently for you to change it.
- 57:44The business world is not waiting for
- 57:46you to end the corruption IN IT.
- 57:48POLITICS IS NOT WAITING FOR NICE gentle
- 57:50people to come in and pray and our
- 57:52country will change. It's out there to
- 57:54KILL YOU. IT'S NOT A neutral space. It's
- 57:56a contested space. You need a circle of
- 57:59believers who know your temptations, who
- 58:03hold your hands up when the pressures of
- 58:05the industry threaten to crush you, WHO
- 58:07WILL HOLD YOU UP SO YOU will not
- 58:09compromise your faith. [music] And they
- 58:11must also hold you accountable to form
- 58:13disciplehip circles in your marketplace
- 58:15so that you can begin to transform it
- 58:17one life at a time. Now, at Fearless
- 58:202026, we'll have great speakers who will
- 58:23help us to begin to think of how to
- 58:25influence where God has placed us. We'll
- 58:28also have opportunities to build
- 58:29relationships and networks. Can you now
- 58:31begin to see why these networks are so
- 58:32important? Yeah. We need to all the
- 58:34lawyers in this place need to know each
- 58:36other. Yeah. Because there's a kingdom
- 58:39vision there that could change this
- 58:40whole community if the Christian lawyers
- 58:43can just put their minds together. The
- 58:44doctors in this house, you need to know
- 58:46each other. YOU NEED TO KNOW WHAT
- 58:47innovations are needed in your industry.

- 59:04need to start holding each other
- 59:05accountable to change the world that God
- 59:08has put us in. Remember,
- 59:11remember there are many perks that may
- 59:13come your way. And in fact, I want to
- 59:16prophesy over the next few years, many
- 59:17of you are going to experience some
- 59:19serious financial breakthroughs. Yeah,
- 59:22serious.
- 59:24It's just the season. I just sense that
- 59:26this is the season and some of you have
- 59:27been praying for this. It's a season.
- 59:29But I want you to never forget this
- 59:31fact. The sole reason that God placed
- 59:33you there was fruitfulness. I want you
- 59:36to stand up to your feet with me as I
- 59:38conclude.
- 59:41Would you just as you stand, would you
- 59:43just raise your hand right now? Raise
- 59:44your hands right now. Say with me, God,
- 59:48I'm ready for you to speak to me.
- 59:52I'm ready to be deployed.
- 59:54I want to see your kingdom come.
- 59:57>> Oh, come on. Say it to God. I want to
- 59:59see your kingdom come.
- 1:00:00>> I want to see your kingom.

- 1:00:08>> ALL THAT.
- 1:00:08>> ALL THAT I HOPE TO BE.
- 1:00:10>> All I dedicate to you.
- 1:00:13>> HELP ME TO BE FRUITFUL.
- 1:00:15>> Help me to raise up disciples who will
- 1:00:19change the world for your glory. May I
- 1:00:21be fruitful. May my business be
- 1:00:24fruitful. May my career be fruitful. May
- 1:00:28my influence be fruitful. May my
- 1:00:31resources be fruitful. May my life
- 1:00:34produce fruit.
- 1:00:37Fruit that will last. And when the owner
- 1:00:40comes seeking fruit.
- 1:00:42Ah, may I be one of those. May I be one
- 1:00:46of those who will be found to be
- 1:00:48fruitful. In the name of Jesus I pray.
- 1:00:52Somebody give glory to Jesus right now.
- 1:00:54We love you Lord in Jesus name. Amen.
- 1:00:59God bless you.
