1:49requiring emergency surgery but
1:52prosecutors claimed the wounds were
1:54self-inflicted photos taken at the
1:56hospital that show defensive black and

2:00were never shown to the jury

3:10single thing that convicted her in 2002
3:13a leading forensic anthropologist
3:15determined that a bloody fingerprint
3:17found on a glass table did not match
3:18anyone in the routier family or involved
3:20in the investigation and her current
3:22appeal is pending further advanced DNA
3:24testing the state of Texas has offered
3:26to reduce routier sentenced to life
3:28without parole if she would admit guilt
3:30but she's refused stating she wouldn't
3:32concede her guilt because she maintains
3:34her innocence
3:35I want posters who were convinced one

3:39culpability I will share a few really
3:41things that bother me one why didn't
3:43Darlie wake up during the attack on her
3:45boys - why didn't Darren wake up during
3:47an alleged verbal and physical
3:49altercation and assault between the
3:50intruder and Darlie 3 the were convinced
3:53she was guilty that first night which I
3:55believe set in motion a series of
3:57mistakes and misjudgments which tainted
3:59the investigation just like hojae I
4:01believe he's guilty but I also believe
4:03Allah made serious mistakes and
4:04misjudgments that tainted the entire
4:06investigation
4:07for example lying breaking chain of
4:09command during evidence collection and
4:11preservation misrepresenting evidence
4:13for how did the silly-string video not
4:16get shown from beginning to end
4:17starting with memorial service -
4:19birthday celebration it was filmed by a
4:22news crew
4:23I believe the state manipulated the jury
4:25by only showing the dance
4:26for example knowing how incensed it
4:28would likely make the jury members to
4:30see an apparent mother in mourning
4:32dancing smiling spraying silly string at
4:34Devon's grave just eight days after the
4:36brutal murder of Devon and his brother
4:38number four really upsets me the state
4:40manipulated the jury and it worked
4:42exactly how they intended backed up by
4:44at least one juror statements that tells
4:47me the jury likely didn't focus on the
4:49true evidence of the case but were
4:50mesmerised by this apparent and Bolton
4:52video on the same token why didn't the
4:54defense show the beginning of the video
4:56which showed the memorial service or did
4:58he try and was denied if denied why

5:37undercover showing a sober Darlie
5:39routier I didn't know this edit overall
5:42I believe doctor is guilty I won't
5:45rehash why I believe this however I do
5:47believe her trial was not fair and under
5:49our laws deserves a new trial would it
5:52result in same result that's not for me
5:54to speculate innocence won her buxom
5:57blonde looks inspired Eyre in the public
5:59along with the Selective silly-string
6:00evidence tape the reaction to Darlie was
6:03more of a cultural reaction against Anna
6:05Nicole Smith types in the departure from
6:07traditional fundamentalist Christian
6:09belief systems so perhaps a subconscious
6:13class reaction against how the newly
6:15moneyed were spending their riches or
6:16some sort of misogyny that she was an
6:19ignorant gold digger the police also
6:21said she was just sitting there as the
6:23rescue attempts went down while failing
6:25to mention that they had told her to sit
6:26down to some facts can be misconstrued
6:29the blood of the sink might be explained
6:32as Darlie had to grab a rag to hold her

6:36correct came downstairs they never
6:38tested the murder weapon

6:43her and participated in the documentary

7:27after the birth of her third child so
7:29she was under medical care for her
7:32mental health not grappling with
7:33undiagnosed PPD without any professional
7:35help
7:365 the life-insurance policies on the two
7:39boys did not total out to some ludicrous
7:41settlement it only covered the cost of
7:44their funeral guilt one her husband's
7:46business was failing
7:47they were looking at foreclosure she
7:50feared her children would have to grow
7:51up in poverty
7:52she started journaling but gave it up
7:55because she didn't want her kids to see
7:57her sad clearly this couple liked their
7:59lifestyle but if in one breath they're
8:02in financial ruin the next moment she's
8:05out agreeing to travel to the Caribbean
8:06with other neighbors
8:08was it a roller coaster ride of peer
8:10pressure and to avoid public shame she
8:12sort of fits the profile of the female
8:14family Annihilator as perceiving murder
8:16is some merciful act - she was smarter
8:19than people gave her credit for a new
8:21that detail about her neck she knew to
8:23grab the knife and use the 9-1-1
8:24operator as an involuntary witness she
8:28had some type of criminal intelligence
8:29or again Darren was involved she might
8:32have figured she could play dumb and get
8:34away with murder 3 rayjet Darren for his
8:37business failure directed at his
8:39children to hurt him for ending her

8:41she didn't work she couldn't maintain
8:44that standard of living she also lost
8:46years of potential career development to
8:48be a trophy wife and raise their
8:49children perhaps she blamed him because
8:52she had little control over the
8:54computer business aside from the
8:55popularity contest element then she
8:58fails to kill Daren or the baby because
9:00she conceals her identity as the
9:01murderer from him if she came at him
9:04with a knife he looks like he could have
9:05fought back for the blood underneath the
9:08glass has always thrown me as well as
9:11some evidence suggesting she vacuumed at
9:12one point odd five this intruder reminds
9:16me of the Ramsey case an intruder who
9:19felt so at home that they didn't bother
9:20to bring their own weapon the backyard
9:22gate was closed and latched
9:24I cannot imagine an intruder frantically
9:27fleeing then pausing to secure the gate
9:29maybe he didn't want anyone coming in to
9:32harm them
9:32wait there were hesitation marks on
9:35darlie's wounds the boys were attacked
9:37before Darlie the wine glass was broken
9:40on top of darlie's blood on the kitchen

9:42she claimed in one story that the sound
9:45of glass breaking woke her which means
9:47she could not be bleeding on the floor
9:49first the sock found near the neighbors
9:52garbage can had her DNA on it along with
9:54spots of her children's blood it was
9:57Darren sock as confirmed by him the
10:00intruder crossed a dark and crowded
10:01garage through a narrow path without
10:03disturbing the items in the garage or
10:05the dust on the windowsill guilty
10:08defensive wounds the weapon used was a
10:10knife her throat was superficially
10:12slashed yet she had no defensive cuts on
10:14her arms just bruises light sleeper

10:20yet she slept through not one but two

10:24were attacked by an intruder yet that
10:26dog didn't go absolutely ape lack of
10:29motive and DNA there are rarely cases
10:32where I feel someone is guilty beyond a
10:34reasonable doubt but if there is one
10:35this is it
10:36there was no foreign DNA found the lack
10:39of motive never made sense either no
10:42sexual assault robbery etc just a random
10:45nut that broke in stabbed two children
10:47and attempted to cut a mother's throat
10:48right guilty every day of the week my
10:52top four reasons in no particular order
10:54are the crime scene staging broken glass
10:57on top of her trail of blood no one
10:59else's blood just hers the cleanup at
11:01the sink the point of entry and exit to
11:03the home the flyscreen cut from the
11:05inside and the knife put back in the
11:07butchers
11:07block zero evidence of someone fleeing
11:09the scene they had a broken side gate
11:11held together with electrical tape zero
11:13evidence of fingerprints blood
11:15footprints etc she's still alive so this
11:19random person with zero motive not
11:21robbery not sexual violently stabs two
11:23little boys to death but just wrestles
11:25with the mother on the couch and decides
11:27to just slice her neck not kill her
11:29ridiculous
11:31the Pomeranian who according to
11:32neighbors enjoyed barking I have one of
11:34my own he's a great little watchdog
11:36somehow stayed silent throughout this
11:38entire ordeal I could go on and on but
11:41that's my top four
11:42all I need is one piece of evidence that
11:44shows an intruder was in the house just
11:47one there isn't any because there wasn't
11:50one all the blood DNA fingerprints etc
11:53belonged to Darlie or the boys it stuns
11:57me that this case is still a question
11:59mark to some people I can only assume
12:01those who aren't convinced of her guilt
12:03simply haven't write a thorough
12:04breakdown of the evidence slash case she
12:07was found guilty beyond a reasonable
12:08doubt for a reason actually it was many
12:11many reasons intrusion story does not
12:14hold water at all to wit the screen was
12:17cut from the inside the dust on the sill
12:19around the window and on the garage
12:21floor were undisturbed even though an
12:22intruder supposedly entered in then left
12:24in a hurry this time the same way the
12:27automatic light in the yard should have
12:28still been on for almost fifteen minutes
12:30when authorities arrived but wasn't on
12:32at all the dog was unbothered her
12:34husband and youngest child were
12:35unbothered by a supposed double murder
12:37followed by fight for her life by Darlie
12:39just downstairs and so on blood she was
12:45covered in her blood and had the blood
12:46of the victims on her a sizable amount
12:48of her blood had been cleaned from the
12:49sink
12:50one might say hidden from investigators
12:52the weapon and scene was all Reuter
12:54blood the blood wasn't on any broken
12:55glass but was under some of it not
12:58fitting her story like most evidence and
13:00even the sock only had root your
13:01eminence on it murderer behavior killers
13:05tend to use a weapon with which they are
13:07familiar they also tend to first
13:09incapacitate the person most likely to
13:11prevent them from killing in this case

13:27children's blood plus she was supposedly
13:30left to sleep right next to her sleeping
13:32children by an intruder who initially
13:34acted as if she was not there and who
13:36died first the older boy who would have
13:39been the bigger nuisance to Darlie the
13:41one convicted of murder the story
13:43doesn't add up see one two and three now
13:47as many further inconsistencies in
13:49darlie's telling and retelling of her
13:51story throwing her jailhouse letters in
13:54which she goes back and forth between
13:55Veit accusations of mystery intruders in
13:58miraculous recollections of a specific
13:59acquaintance now sprinkle in her
14:02inability to answer questions on the
14:04stand even though she answered in her
14:05then recent letters and when previously
14:07questioned she cried expressed horror
14:10when her jailhouse letter were read
14:12aloud and said some version of I don't
14:14know seventy odd times investigators
14:17found no evidence of an intruder and
14:18none of the evidence collected truly fit
14:20Darlie story everything and the kitchen
14:23sink no evidence to match her intruder
14:26story no fingerprints footprints blood
14:29hair etc everything we've got points to
14:33a double murder that originated and was
14:35completed entirely in the house without
14:36any outside involvement motive
14:40unnecessary to convict especially with
14:42the evidence / case against Darlie the
14:45evidence points to her much of which
14:47goes against her story and some of which
14:49like the bloody sink appeared to be part
14:52of a haphazard cover-up I implore anyone
14:54who isn't in the guilty camp to read a
14:56thorough case recap like the one linked
14:58below if you read that in are still
15:00unsure it can only be because you're all
15:02how could a mother do that type
15:06the same way thousands of other parents
15:08have murdered their children I thought
15:10this was a great long read article from
15:12the fantastic Texas Monthly I believe
15:15Darlie did it but I have no idea why she
15:19may just be a narcissistic sociopath and
15:22losing her children bothered her less
15:24than having them around the boys had
15:26just started their summer break so they
15:28were now home all the time giving Darlie
15:31less alone time it can be stressful to
15:34mother a baby and older kids at the same
15:36time and I think she was over it for
15:39guilt no forced entry unless you count
15:41the window screen cut from the inside of
15:43the house no evidence of an outsider at
15:46the crime scene this was a messy scene
15:49and it's hard to believe that the
15:51perpetrator would be so good at covering
15:52their tracks but so bad at killing
15:54Darlie murder weapon from inside the
15:57house Darlie telling 9-1-1 that the
16:01murder weapon and not following
16:02instructions to provide care for her
16:04children I genuinely don't know the
16:08problem I have with assuming her guilt
16:09is that no one seems to be able to point
16:11to a motive if she wanted to start over
16:13without kids why leave Drake alive if
16:16she did it in some kind of psychotic
16:18fugue would she have had the wherewithal
16:19to stab herself in the neck in a way
16:22that was almost but not quite fatal but
16:25if she didn't do it I have no earthly
16:26idea who could have I guess it's
16:29possible it was some kind of wannabe
16:31serial killer but if so they managed not
16:33to leave any evidence of their presence
16:35that we know about these are the type of
16:37cases like jbr that I have such a hard
16:40time with because no option makes any
16:42damn sense and the further down the
16:44rabbit hole I go the more frustrated I
16:46get I also wonder if a truly guilty
16:48person would continue to attract
16:50attention like participate in articles
16:52and documentaries after all of these
16:54years
16:54could the just be narcissism delusions
16:56knows I also can't understand why she
16:59would do with that to two kids and leave
17:01the baby and husband untouched I don't
17:03have five points but just wanted to say
17:05this should not be a death penalty case
17:07due to the reasonable doubt as to her
17:09guilt the facts so many are even having
17:12this discussion is proof she doesn't
17:14belong on death row that trial was an
17:16absolute [ __ ] show by any measure my
17:19thing is what evidence is
17:20there that Darren didn't participate or
17:22do all most of it why is just Darlie
17:25being thrown under the bus here I could
17:27definitely see him helping stab her and
17:29put those bruises on her to make the
17:31thing look more real neighbors reported
17:34some cold creepy comments he made
17:35shortly afterwards - and the whole thing
17:38about him hiring someone to steal his
17:40car or whatever for insurance purposes
17:42is weird weird weird emo he got off
17:45because he's a white dude in it's Texas
17:47he was probably just a better liar than
17:50Darlie they stayed together for many
17:52years after she got locked up so to me
17:54that implies they were in it together to
17:56some extent not unlike the Ramseys I
17:58don't believe she's completely innocent
18:00quite the opposite but life in prison is
18:03the proper sentence in this instance I
18:05waive her back and forth between guilty
18:08and innocent but I always thought it was
18:10strange that Darren had previously
18:11planned a home burglary insurance scam
18:14source blood spatter evidence indicated
18:17that Darlie was wounded in the kitchen
18:18over the sink and then the sink was
18:20cleaned there was other blood evidence
18:22that didn't match up with darlie's
18:24account of events her entire account of
18:26what happened is illogical either
18:29someone broke into rate / molest her
18:31regardless of the children there or they
18:33broken to attack the children unprovoked
18:35but they couldn't do both at the same
18:37time there were no real signs of a
18:40break-in and no real motive given for a
18:42break-in the weapons used for the attack
18:45came from the kitchen and the knife that
18:46was used to cut the screen was put back
18:48into the knife holder anyone breaking
18:51into a house to commit murder or even to
18:53threaten homeowners won't waste time
18:54looking for a weapon in the house
18:56they'll bring one with them the
18:58silly-string incident does not count as
19:00evidence and for every person who
19:02thought it was a sign of not carrying
19:03another dozen people would see this as a
19:05grieving family trying to help children
19:07come to terms with the death of two
19:09children rooters supporters might claim
19:11that this might have poisoned public
19:13opinion against Darlie but I think
19:15that's just a strategy to avoid
19:16addressing the evidence that convicted
19:18her my theory is that Darlie was
19:20fighting with her husband that night and
19:22after he went to sleep she killed the
19:24children as a revenge murder it does
19:26happen that one parent will eliminate
19:28the children to hurt the other parent
19:30especially when there are tensions in
19:31the marriage first of all
19:34how are they sure that there were only
19:35the fingerprints of the inhabitants if
19:37they never dusted the murder weapon for
19:39fingerprints second what was her mental
19:41state in the time leading up to the
19:43murders of two of her children I'm not
19:45saying she didn't do it but if she was
19:47suffering from a condition like
19:48postpartum depression which can occur
19:50anytime in the first year from birth
19:52onward then it would have been a factor
19:54in why she might have done it and third
19:56like you said why didn't Daren wake up
19:58if he heard his wife killing his kids I
20:00know a lot of women become light
20:02sleepers after giving birth in order to
20:04tend to their children when they wake up
20:05crying and I don't know if it's the same
20:07with men as to if I believe she's guilty
20:10I don't know but I agree that the trial
20:12was poorly done as critical evidence was
20:14not shown as thus the investigators
20:16bungled the case they never dusted the
20:18murder weapon for fingerprints because
20:20Darlie admitted during her initial 9-1-1
20:22call that she had picked the weapon up
20:24after the fact they did dust several
20:27other knives from the knife block not
20:29including the bread knife used to cut
20:31the screen and several other surfaces in
20:33the house to determine if there was
20:34incidental contact by someone outside
20:36the family there wasn't as far as
20:39postpartum depression it's certainly
20:41possible before the murder she was
20:44allegedly contemplating suicide during
20:46his testimony Daren mentions having to
20:49come home from work to console her and
20:51finding out she had broken a bunch of
20:53OTC sleeping meds out from blister packs
20:55she was also taking amphetamines in an
20:58attempt to shed baby weight and smoking
21:00marijuana something the defense was able
21:03to get excluded from the trial until the
21:05penalty phase while pot isn't exactly a
21:08murder drug drug interactions can be
21:10weird scary stuff as far as Daren
21:13sleeping through the murder I think it's
21:15plausible both children were stabbed in
21:18their sleep and lung wounds blood in the
21:20throat may have prevented them from
21:21crying out or screaming similar to kitty
