- 0:07>> What's up, guys? Welcome to a brand new
- 0:09episode here at Daniel Cormier TV,
- 0:11brought to you by Total Wireless, the
- 0:13official wireless provider of UFC.
- 0:16They're in your corner
- 0:17with unlimited 5G data that won't tap
- 0:21out. Real UFC fans need real unlimited.
- 0:26So, last night
- 0:30we had one of the most anticipated
- 0:33debuts we have seen for a while in the
- 0:35UFC in Salahdine Parnasse.
- 0:39Salahdine Parnasse was a guy that had
- 0:42won
- 0:44so many
- 0:45titles outside of the UFC. He had
- 0:49performed on the biggest stages outside
- 0:53of the UFC. And the idea was at some
- 0:57point he would come here and he would
- 1:00hopefully work his way into a position
- 1:03where he can challenge the best guys in
- 1:04the world.
- 1:06You know a guy is highly regarded when
- 1:10his first fight is a main event.
- 1:13He main events against Dan Hooker in
- 1:16Paris, France.
- 1:18This guy is a star there. They love him
- 1:21there. They set him up in a position
- 1:24where he could feel important.
- 1:27Yesterday he felt important.
- 1:30The reaction to this kid all week,
- 1:33outstanding.
- 1:34When he hit the curtain walking towards
- 1:37the octagon, outstanding. I want to read
- 1:40you guys really fast Parnasse's bio,
- 1:44right? Because I think that in itself
- 1:47is so impressive. I was listening to
- 1:50Michael Bisping talk about this man
- 1:54as he was walking to the octagon.
- 1:56and speaking of his title fights, the
- 2:01level of competition he had fought, the
- 2:03the people that he had beaten, and
- 2:08Hold Here it is. Salahdine Parnasse.
- 2:11MMA fighter.
- 2:12And what he
- 2:15would bring to the division.
- 2:16Okay? KSW. He was a champion
- 2:20in three or in two different divisions.
- 2:23He was a two-division champion KSW.
- 2:25Guys, that Polish
- 2:28organization
- 2:29is as good as any regional
- 2:32organization in the world. Now, I'm not
- 2:34talking regional like
- 2:36uh one of the smaller ones just around
- 2:39the United States. This is a global
- 2:41organization that people go to fight to
- 2:43and try to become champion. He fought
- 2:4712 title fights
- 2:49before ever stepping foot inside the UFC
- 2:53Octagon. I don't know that we have seen
- 2:55a person have that level of high-level
- 2:57experience going into the Octagon since
- 3:00maybe
- 3:05Alistair? Maybe Overeem?
- 3:08I'm not talking Pereira with the
- 3:10kickboxing
- 3:11individually. I'm not talking Gable
- 3:13Steveson with the wrestling
- 3:15individually. I'm talking about a person
- 3:17that had competed in that individual
- 3:20sport and MMA at that level for that
- 3:23long.
- 3:24This kid had that. 12 title fights going
- 3:27into that fight last night. The fight
- 3:29starts.
- 3:30Obviously, the kid is fighting with a
- 3:31level of confidence,
- 3:33right?
- 3:34That you hope to see in guys making
- 3:37their debut debut, but you don't see
- 3:39that often.
- 3:41He's fighting with this confidence that
- 3:43he feels like he is just too much for
- 3:44Dan Hooker.
- 3:46Dude lands a nasty body kick. Hooker
- 3:49shows that he's hurt, then tries to
- 3:52compose himself, but it's too late when
- 3:54you got a killer like that in front of
- 3:56you. PFL goes after him, hits him with
- 3:59the nastiest left hook.
- 4:01I mean, it was like chopping and he just
- 4:05crumbled and he just beat him up on the
- 4:07ground to get the finish. You know,
- 4:10we talk about debuts and impressing in
- 4:13those debuts.
- 4:16I don't think we've seen a more
- 4:17impressive one.
- 4:19You know,
- 4:20when a guy comes over from another
- 4:23organization, it's hard. We have seen
- 4:25people from even Bellator really
- 4:28struggle. We saw Pitbull struggle and
- 4:31and had dominated there.
- 4:33We saw Aaron Pico struggle. Now he has
- 4:35seemed to have corrected the ship in his
- 4:37second UFC appearance and looked
- 4:38amazing.
- 4:40Michael Chandler did good, but then
- 4:42struggled after. We have seen people
- 4:44struggle at times
- 4:45making the jump. I struggled. I thought
- 4:48my first UFC fight was sub par because I
- 4:51was nervous. It was a different
- 4:53platform. It was a bigger platform and
- 4:55you can feel that
- 4:57whenever you get to the UFC.
- 5:01He didn't struggle at all. And generally
- 5:03when a guy comes in,
- 5:05they want to call their shot and talk
- 5:08about who they want to fight and what
- 5:10they expect next and a lot of times we
- 5:12laugh at them, but I don't think people
- 5:13are going to be laughing at PFL. He said
- 5:15that his dream fight is against Max
- 5:17Holloway and honestly,
- 5:19I'm here for it.
- 5:20If they decide that PFL and Max Holloway
- 5:23should fight,
- 5:25I'm here for it.
- 5:27I really am because I believe that when
- 5:30you do that
- 5:32in your debut, you get something big.
- 5:34Now, if Max says no to it, Max is so
- 5:39right in that thought.
- 5:41Guys, even like Kayla Harrison, her UFC
- 5:44debut was good, but
- 5:46I don't think it was that.
- 5:48It wasn't that.
- 5:49It wasn't that that brutal, dominating,
- 5:52nasty,
- 5:54uh
- 5:55type of performance.
- 5:57She submitted Holly Holm, but
- 5:59man, it was That was nasty. It just felt
- 6:03like something bigger than we have seen
- 6:06for a little bit. He said Max is his
- 6:07dream fight. He also said he believes
- 6:09he's the best fighter in the world. And
- 6:11when you watch that last night,
- 6:14you have to look at matchups. How long
- 6:16do we have Justin Gaethje for now?
- 6:18That's the question. How much longer is
- 6:20Justin Gaethje in this game?
- 6:22How much longer does Justin Gaethje want
- 6:24to cut the weight down to 155?
- 6:27How much longer
- 6:29does he want to do these things? Because
- 6:30if he doesn't want to do these things,
- 6:33Poirier
- 6:34fighting the other guys at 155,
- 6:36they're generally strikers. Those are
- 6:38great fights. There's one real grappler
- 6:41in that top of that division right now
- 6:45to try and ground this man, and that's
- 6:48Paddy Pimblett, who's really good at it.
- 6:50But I will tell you this, I have heard
- 6:52stories
- 6:54of this kid
- 6:55his training. I heard that this dude is
- 6:57running 15 400s
- 7:00and trying to keep them all under a
- 7:02minute.
- 7:04He's running 15
- 7:06400s,
- 7:07guys.
- 7:1012 of those is 3 mi.
- 7:13He's running almost 4 mi
- 7:15of sprints and trying to keep those
- 7:19sprints under a minute.
- 7:21Now, I don't know that he's successful
- 7:23every time at keeping it under a minute,
- 7:25but his intent when he steps on the line
- 7:27to run a 400-m dash, a lap around the
- 7:30track, is to keep it under a minute, and
- 7:33he does it 15 times.
- 7:36That's insane
- 7:38when it comes to preparing yourself for
- 7:39a fight, and that's why he's so
- 7:41explosive, the burst.
- 7:43It's a burst and a long-distance element
- 7:47to it. It's crazy the amount of work
- 7:49that this man is
- 7:50is putting in. And I'm hearing this from
- 7:52people that are around him, that are
- 7:54close to him, that have seen him do
- 7:56these things.
- 7:58I know we get excited
- 8:00whenever you see something like that,
- 8:02but this is not me putting on. This is
- 8:04things that I've generally heard about
- 8:06Salahdine Parnasse.
- 8:09On to Dan Hooker.
- 8:12When people generally hear that they're
- 8:15a gatekeeper or put in that position,
- 8:19they're mad, they're upset, and they
- 8:21fight that with all that they can.
- 8:23Dan Hooker seemed to be embracing that
- 8:25and said,
- 8:26uh
- 8:28There've been a couple losses and then
- 8:29moving your way down the rankings, I'm
- 8:31more than happy to play the role that
- 8:33I'm in right now. And the role that I'm
- 8:35in right now is gatekeeping the top 10
- 8:38of the UFC's lightweight division.
- 8:42Me, personally, I think there's too much
- 8:45acceptance, too much comfort in that.
- 8:49We have guys that are willing to fight
- 8:50anybody anytime. Kevin Holland comes to
- 8:52mind. Kevin Holland never says or never
- 8:55will accept that he's a gatekeeper.
- 8:59He will always fight to win,
- 9:01and he will always fight anybody. But
- 9:03just because you fight anybody doesn't
- 9:05mean you almost have to accept that if
- 9:07they beat you, they're just going to go
- 9:08forward and you just continue to tumble.
- 9:10Your intention should always be to stop
- 9:12the tumble,
- 9:13to stop the losses, to stop the
- 9:16suffering. It's suffering.
- 9:20Losing hurts in any way. What's up,
- 9:23guys? Football season's back, and it's
- 9:25time to level up your approach during
- 9:27the college football season and the NFL,
- 9:29because Polymarket is here. Polymarket
- 9:32is a legal prediction market available
- 9:35in all 50 states. Hey, and unlike
- 9:38traditional sports books, on Polymarket,
- 9:41you can trade all things football. And
- 9:44you know what's good? Polymarket gives
- 9:46you the ability to cash out instantly.
- 9:49If the momentum swings, you can sell in
- 9:52real time. You're the one that's in
- 9:54control. So, when the market dips, like
- 9:57if a team starts slow and it drops to
- 9:5940%, that's not a loss. That's actually
- 10:02when you buy in. Essentially, you can
- 10:04buy cheap and ride the momentum all the
- 10:07way back up. So, Polymarket is so sure
- 10:10that you'll never go back to the old way
- 10:12that they're issuing a challenge to you
- 10:14guys. They're going to give you $50 when
- 10:17you deposit just $10. So, sign up with
- 10:19my promo code DC MMA, go to
- 10:22polymarket.us,
- 10:24use the promo code DC MMA to get a $50
- 10:28bonus when you deposit just $10. You
- 10:31cannot accept that. When you hear a
- 10:32fighter do that, um
- 10:35it just isn't good. Cuz you do that
- 10:37before the fight, and then the fight
- 10:39goes in the way that it did.
- 10:42That's not good.
- 10:44That's really, really not good for Dan
- 10:46Hooker. So, I'm very interested to see
- 10:48what happens with him uh going forward.
- 10:52But, Islam Makhachev is the real deal,
- 10:53guys. Get excited cuz we have a brand
- 10:56new contender at 155, and I believe that
- 10:59his ascent is going to be much faster
- 11:03than most people even believe. Until
- 11:05next time, like, subscribe, and tell
- 11:07your friends DC has got a YouTube
- 11:08channel.
- 11:09Peace.
