Full transcript
- 0:01ABBY LEE (VOICEOVER): Previously on "Dance Moms."
- 0:03This week, you will be performing in the annual dance
- 0:05concert.
- 0:06Are we doing a new number, or are you not?
- 0:08I'm going to call Kelly and see
- 0:09if she's planning on coming.
- 0:10Do you think Christi and Kelly are
- 0:12going to make your kid a star?
- 0:13Pick which side you're on.
- 0:14Shush the beak.
- 0:15Stop it.
- 0:16Since when does your ass go on my stage.
- 0:18Never in 40 years of being in the Abby Lee Dance Company has
- 0:22anyone been given a solo the day of the [bleep] recital!
- 0:26You're out. You're out.
- 0:27KELLY: Good! - Call the police.
- 0:28Get her out of here. KELLY: I'm done!
- 0:30ABBY LEE (VOICEOVER): Coming up on "Dance Moms."
- 0:31This week, we will be attending Believe in Lancaster,
- 0:35Pennsylvania.
- 0:36The Wicked Witch from the West will be there.
- 0:38All of you have come highly recommended.
- 0:40How's it going?
- 0:42You sit here and say that is not your seat,
- 0:45I want Kelly back, when she constantly runs out
- 0:47on this team with her children!
- 0:48Hey, how about you take a seat--
- 0:49CATHY: I don't need to take a seat.
- 0:51--and enjoy the show.
- 0:52ABBY LEE: She's lucky I even know her name.
- 0:53I didn't--
- 0:54So shut your mouth!
- 0:55No, stop!
- 0:57This is about dance!
- 0:58Are you people insane?
- 1:00[THEME - NIKKI LOWE, "LIVING ON THE DANCE FLOOR"]
- 1:02(SINGING) Get up, get on the floor.
- 1:06My world is with my girls, living on the dance floor.
- 1:12[pop music]
- 1:17ABBY LEE: Come on, girls. Let's go.
- 1:18Let's go.
- 1:19Let's go.
- 1:20Come on.
- 1:21Move it. Move it.
- 1:22Move it.
- 1:24JILL (VOICEOVER): I miss Kelly like the rest of us,
- 1:25but reality is Kelly pulled her kids from the recital,
- 1:29and we don't know if she's coming back or not.
- 1:32Well, congratulations.
- 1:34The annual dance concert is over.
- 1:36The show went off without a hitch.
- 1:39Let's get to the pyramid.
- 1:40First, I have Paige.
- 1:44Paige wasn't there.
- 1:46Paige was given the opportunity to do a new solo--
- 1:49very unprofessional.
- 1:51Next, we have Brooke.
- 1:55She could have sang "Summer Love Song" in my show
- 1:58for the finale.
- 1:59I single-handedly was giving her the opportunity
- 2:03to resurrect that old song and get a lot more mileage out
- 2:06of it.
- 2:07It's one thing for Kelly to let me down--
- 2:10she does it all the time--
- 2:12but it's another thing for her to let her own children down.
- 2:15And that's exactly what she did.
- 2:16Next, we have Asia.
- 2:19Asia, you did an outstanding job with the solo.
- 2:24ABBY LEE: You do all these really exciting tricks--
- 2:28grab your leg, spin around three times--
- 2:31and you couldn't put your pants on right.
- 2:32[salsa music]
- 2:39Kristie you're a dance mom.
- 2:41You know better.
- 2:43I do.
- 2:44Next, I have Nia.
- 2:49Nia, what can you do better than everybody else?
- 2:51It's good.
- 2:52It's fine.
- 2:53But it's not excellence.
- 2:56If you were to give her probably a little bit more
- 2:58of your time and attention one-on-one,
- 3:00I think she could prove to you that she is a great
- 3:04and talented dancer.
- 3:05I'm really getting sick and tired of Abby
- 3:07saying that Nia's not as good as the rest of the girls.
- 3:09All the other girls have opportunities to do solos,
- 3:12duos, trios, and get that extra time with Abby
- 3:15to learn from her.
- 3:16Nia hasn't had any of that in over six months,
- 3:19and that's why the girls are perceived to be "excellent."
- 3:22All right, moving on up, Mackenzie.
- 3:25Sandra from "Dance Track Magazine"
- 3:28said that you were a fantastic nerd.
- 3:30SANDRA: That's pretty.
- 3:32You just didn't know enough nerd moves or nerd poses.
- 3:36And next, we have Maddie.
- 3:39You had the opportunity to do a new routine.
- 3:42I had to put my hand up for you.
- 3:45Paige would prefer not to do a new solo.
- 3:48I'm offering it to somebody else.
- 3:50Maddie, you have your survivor number?
- 3:52She did not volunteer.
- 3:53You volunteered her.
- 3:54That can't happen.
- 3:55If you're going to act like that,
- 3:57I'm going to pass you up and give those opportunities
- 3:59to other people.
- 4:01And next, we have Chloe.
- 4:09You would have to be the MVP of the show.
- 4:13She knew Paige's choreography.
- 4:15She just did it.
- 4:16[applause]
- 4:21Now, Christi, I'm looking at your body language,
- 4:23and you're not thrilled that she's this high.
- 4:25I'm thrilled that she's second on the pyramid.
- 4:27Of course, I am.
- 4:29If you think Chloe was the MVP and the hero of the recital,
- 4:32why don't you give her the top spot in the pyramid?
- 4:34And now on the top of our pyramid
- 4:37is none other than our "Dance Track Magazine" cover girl,
- 4:41Miss Kendall.
- 4:42[applause]
- 4:43Woo-hoo!
- 4:47ABBY LEE: Kendall was looking into that camera
- 4:50like you were looking at another mean girl.
- 4:52Kendall and I worked so hard at getting her
- 4:56to the top of that pyramid through hard work
- 4:59and perseverance.
- 5:00And the fact that she is on top is amazing to me.
- 5:04All of her hard work is paying off.
- 5:07This week, we will be attending Believe in Lancaster,
- 5:11Pennsylvania.
- 5:11This is going to be a biggie.
- 5:13It's exciting to go to a new competition this week.
- 5:16Believe is a prestigious competition,
- 5:18so that means Abby is going to be that much more difficult
- 5:21and harder on the girls, because she's going to expect nothing
- 5:23but the best.
- 5:25You are all in the group routine,
- 5:27and the name is "Open Waters."
- 5:30You better be the sharks in those open waters.
- 5:34Moms, the Wicked Witch will be there.
- 5:37MELISSA (VOICEOVER): When I hear Candy Apples,
- 5:39the hair on my neck stands up, because Abby turns
- 5:42into a totally different person.
- 5:44The closer we get to the competition,
- 5:46the more stressed out she gets.
- 5:48Now, I also found out that she is doing a trio,
- 5:53so that means we're going to do a trio.
- 5:56Chloe, Kendall, and I was going to choose Maddie,
- 6:04but I think I'm going to use Nia.
- 6:06[applause]
- 6:09ABBY LEE (VOICEOVER): Sorry, Maddie.
- 6:11You obviously don't care about being featured.
- 6:13If you did, you would have raised your hand like
- 6:16(SNAPPING) that when I asked for a replacement
- 6:18for the dance concert.
- 6:19We are not going to lose to that evil woman.
- 6:24Understand? - Yes.
- 6:25Yes.
- 6:26I'm the only evil woman in your life.
- 6:28[laughter]
- 6:29All right, moms, you're dismissed.
- 6:31Girls, spread apart.
- 6:32Let's go.
- 6:33[upbeat music]
- 6:38Guys, did you warm up?
- 6:39Good.
- 6:40And I see that we're starting into choreography,
- 6:42so that's awesome.
- 6:43CATHY (VOICEOVER): I can't wait to compete against Abby
- 6:45this week.
- 6:46We have a new lineup with some new faces.
- 6:48I am so excited to show off this team.
- 6:51The last time that we went up against Abby, we lost.
- 6:54And in first place, Entry Number 76, "Bad Girls."
- 6:58[applause]
- 7:00CATHY (VOICEOVER): It's crucial this week that we win.
- 7:02I think with this new and improved team,
- 7:04it's going to happen.
- 7:05All of you have very good technique.
- 7:07You either have come highly recommended or highly sought
- 7:10after.
- 7:11CATHY (VOICEOVER): I've done a lot of research.
- 7:13I'm so excited for these new dancers and their moms.
- 7:16Just take it up.
- 7:17Yes.
- 7:19CATHY (VOICEOVER): Lucas is by far one of the most flexible
- 7:20dancers in the country.
- 7:22I'm actually very good friends with Lucas's mom, Bridget,
- 7:25on Facebook.
- 7:26There we go.
- 7:27OK, good.
- 7:28CATHY (VOICEOVER): Anthony actually recommended
- 7:29Brooke for this team.
- 7:31He said that she's a beautiful, graceful dancer,
- 7:33and that she can handle hard choreography.
- 7:36Michelle is a new mom.
- 7:37She has a passion to be part of my team.
- 7:40I appreciate that.
- 7:41Hadley?
- 7:41How about a lunge?
- 7:43CATHY (VOICEOVER): Hadley's a no-brainer
- 7:44for coming back to my team.
- 7:46She's the total package.
- 7:47She's beautiful.
- 7:48She's talented.
- 7:50And she brings along a mom that's just like me--
- 7:53fashionable, bubbly, and, you know, I think that Yvette
- 7:56and I are soulmates.
- 7:58CATHY: Arms up and--
- 7:59oh, that's beautiful, Nicaya.
- 8:00CATHY (VOICEOVER): I don't think that Abby took the time
- 8:04to find out what Nicaya's qualities were.
- 8:06And I, on the other hand, have become very fond of Nicaya
- 8:11and very fond of Kaya, her mom.
- 8:14And Black Patsy proved herself to me a thousand times
- 8:19over when she stood up to Jill and took her about 5 feet back
- 8:24with finger-to-nose.
- 8:25Show me a good pose and--
- 8:27see?
- 8:28CATHY (VOICEOVER): I brought back Mari for several reasons.
- 8:31She has beautiful extensions and leaps.
- 8:33One of the main reasons that Mari is back
- 8:36is that Gina is a mouth.
- 8:39And Gina is not going to take crap from no one, particularly
- 8:43the Pittsburgh moms.
- 8:44MICHELLE: But what's the competition?
- 8:45What's the name of it? - It's called--
- 8:47Believe. MICHELLE: Believe.
- 8:48Believe, I believe, and I believe
- 8:50you are going to meet your match this weekend.
- 8:52I believe I will.
- 8:53What is your history with Kristie?
- 8:55I don't really know.
- 8:56Oh, Kristie and I, we really didn't even
- 8:59hit it off from day 1.
- 9:00- Get out! - Kristie!
- 9:01- You know what? - No.
- 9:02- What? - Listen--
- 9:03- No, you listen! - Hit me!
- 9:04- No, you hit me! - Hit me!
- 9:05You hit me!
- 9:06Kristie's a piece of work.
- 9:07[inaudible].
- 9:08Watch one time and go.
- 9:095, 6, 7, 8.
- 9:11Wop, bop, step--
- 9:13CATHY (VOICEOVER): Anthony has created the most amazing group
- 9:15dance.
- 9:16It's the "Four Seasons."
- 9:17This, by far, is my most technically savvy team.
- 9:21I think between their talent and ability
- 9:25and Anthony's choreography that they
- 9:27are going to pulverize Abby.
- 9:29Hop, step, step.
- 9:31Hop, hop.
- 9:32Hey, bop, bop, step, step, bop, bop, bop, bop!
- 9:34And 3 and 4 and--
- 9:35[electronic dance music]
- 9:38ABBY LEE: All right, now ladies, listen to me.
- 9:40We're taking a prop because we're not going that far away.
- 9:43ABBY LEE (VOICEOVER): We're doing a piece for the group
- 9:44entitled "Open Waters."
- 9:46It's a really cool contemporary piece.
- 9:49Now I have props that look like the beach, the shore.
- 9:53I need to make sure that they understand that whoever's
- 9:56up on that prop, the judges are looking at.
- 9:59Tour en l'air on [inaudible] side.
- 10:01Aerial push.
- 10:04Abby's going very slow, kid to kid--
- 10:06Yep.
- 10:07--and explaining exactly what she wants.
- 10:09That's good. - You know what I think?
- 10:10JILL: Yep. - It's because she wants this--
- 10:12She wants to do well.
- 10:12--because it's Cathy.
- 10:13It's Cathy.
- 10:14It's going to be us against them,
- 10:16and it's going to be crazy.
- 10:17[MUSIC - LORI MARTINI AND CASSANDRA KUBINSKI, "SWIM"]
- 10:19(SINGING) So even though you're terrified--
- 10:25You are dancing right here, right now,
- 10:27like you have never had a dance class in your life.
- 10:29If that was me and I was dancing it, three-step turn.
- 10:33Reach in here.
- 10:37[inaudible]
- 10:38That's what I would have done without anybody telling me what
- 10:40to do at 12 years old.
- 10:41And your mother's telling me how much you've improved.
- 10:43So I know what Abby's doing now.
- 10:45Because I demanded from her to take more time with Nia,
- 10:48she's going to be even harder and harsher with her because I
- 10:52asked her to do something.
- 10:53I know I asked Abby for more one-on-time with Nia,
- 10:56but I don't think I chose the best week to do it.
- 10:58First, we're going to a new competition.
- 11:00Second, Paige and Brooke are absent,
- 11:01and it throws everything off.
- 11:03And third, we're going against Cathy and the Candy Apples.
- 11:06What have I done to poor Nia?
- 11:07It feels weird to be going, you know, face-to-face with Cathy
- 11:10and her team without Kelly.
- 11:11I still think she's coming back.
- 11:13You do?
- 11:14I'm sorry, but the team isn't the team without Kelly.
- 11:17Kelly's always been a member of the team with her children,
- 11:20and it just doesn't feel the same without them.
- 11:22ABBY LEE: All right, I've seen enough.
- 11:24We have three days to get ready.
- 11:27A group with a big prop and we have a trio to do.
- 11:30I need your brains in your head.
- 11:33We're going up against my enemy.
- 11:36And what has Kelly done?
- 11:37She's left us short two members.
- 11:39ABBY LEE (VOICEOVER): Well, I can fix that.
- 11:41Everyone's replaceable.
- 11:50[hip hop music]
- 11:51All right, group dance.
- 11:52Everybody ready?
- 11:53We're going up against that crab and her rotten apples
- 11:56this week.
- 11:57ABBY LEE (VOICEOVER): Now, this is a brand-new competition.
- 11:58Losing is not an option.
- 12:00I shouldn't worry.
- 12:01I just don't trust Cathy.
- 12:02I don't trust her with these boys, with these older kids.
- 12:06If I know that witch, she's got something brewing.
- 12:09I don't trust her as far as I can throw her,
- 12:11and I'd like to throw her overboard.
- 12:14Cathy, I can handle it.
- 12:17We are going to win.
- 12:18We'll put some padding on it.
- 12:19[MUSIC - LORI MARTINI AND CASSANDRA KUBINSKI, "SWIM"]
- 12:21Oh, Chloe, you just stepped on a pigeon-toed foot
- 12:24into that turn!
- 12:27Watch that sloppy foot.
- 12:28Stay low.
- 12:29Keep working, Nia!
- 12:30You're standing there again.
- 12:32Go over it and over it and over it.
- 12:34I look up.
- 12:35I see Nia standing in second with her arms hanging out.
- 12:37HOLLY (VOICEOVER): This is a big week for Nia.
- 12:39She has a trio, in addition to being in the group number.
- 12:42But I know Nia's a tough cookie, and she can handle it.
- 12:45That's an interesting dance.
- 12:46Well, it's almost like they're-- you're trying
- 12:48to figure out what the hell's going on.
- 12:50It's like a mystery.
- 12:51It really does feel incomplete without Paige and Brooke.
- 12:53And whether Abby wants to admit it or not,
- 12:56they complete this team.
- 12:57Right here, there needs to be another person up
- 13:00on that dancing.
- 13:01ABBY LEE (VOICEOVER): This number
- 13:02is not coming along as quickly as I'd like.
- 13:04Something's off, and I know what that is.
- 13:06It's my numbers.
- 13:09If we're going to beat Cathy, I need to make an addition
- 13:11to this group.
- 13:13ABBY LEE: Guess who's here early for her private?
- 13:16Oh, she's bringing Payton in.
- 13:17Oh, hey.
- 13:18ABBY LEE (VOICEOVER): I've decided to bring Payton
- 13:20into the group number.
- 13:21She wants to be successful.
- 13:24She wants to be part of this team,
- 13:26and she's going to do everything she can to help us win.
- 13:29Get up there on that beach and just,
- 13:30like, improv a little bit.
- 13:31ABBY LEE (VOICEOVER): I've had some problems
- 13:33with Payton in the past because she has a smart mouth.
- 13:35You need to fix that turnout.
- 13:37I thought that I was better than most
- 13:38of the people for all rounds.
- 13:39ABBY LEE: You thought you were better than most
- 13:40of the people in this group?
- 13:41LESLIE: Performance-wise.
- 13:43Oh, that's cocky.
- 13:45But that's how I feel, performance-wise.
- 13:47She's a great dancer, she's strong,
- 13:50and she's going to take over and be the leader of this group.
- 13:53It's high time that somebody be the leader.
- 13:57[MUSIC - LORI MARTINI AND CASSANDRA KUBINSKI, "SWIM"]
- 14:00How old's Payton.
- 14:01- 15. - Perfect.
- 14:02Payton's danced with the team before.
- 14:04I mean, and she's-- - Yeah.
- 14:04MELISSA: She's tall, but she--
- 14:06JILL: She's been an ALDC member for years now.
- 14:07CHRISTI: She's actually-- MELISSA: She's a member.
- 14:08I mean--
- 14:09And she's actually come in to help take Brooke's place two
- 14:12times.
- 14:12Oh, yay.
- 14:14With Payton-- that only means one thing's coming,
- 14:16and that's Leslie.
- 14:18Yippy for me.
- 14:21Hi, ladies. CHRISTI: Hello.
- 14:22MELISSA: Hi.
- 14:23JILL: Hi, Leslie.
- 14:25CHRISTI (VOICEOVER): However, I will say one thing.
- 14:27Going up against the Candy Apples this week,
- 14:29it's good to have someone like Leslie in your corner--
- 14:31you know, someone who's seen a brawl or five in a bar before.
- 14:34CHRISTI: We know you're scrappy, and we
- 14:36might need some extra scrap this weekend, because there are
- 14:38some bitches coming to town. - Yeah, we're happy you're--
- 14:39LESLIE: What do you mean?
- 14:41[MUSIC - LORI MARTINI AND CASSANDRA KUBINSKI, "SWIM"]
- 14:46CHRISTI: I am always the first person
- 14:47to say, like, we don't need this person--
- 14:49I think we need it this week.
- 14:50CHRISTI: --we don't need that person.
- 14:51Perfectly fine with Payton dancing with this group--
- 14:54Absolutely.
- 14:55CHRISTI: --this week, because you know what?
- 14:56It's not about this, that, and the other thing.
- 14:57It's about beating Candy Apples.
- 14:58And--
- 15:00And she's an Abby Lee Dance Company member.
- 15:01CHRISTI: That's right.
- 15:02HOLLY: Yep.
- 15:03MELISSA: She is a member of our team.
- 15:04HOLLY: If you got to bring someone in,
- 15:04bring someone from the team.
- 15:05Well, this is different.
- 15:06I'm happy that you guys are happy.
- 15:08No, no, of course.
- 15:09We're really excited to be here with the team today.
- 15:11And if Brooke and Paige don't come back,
- 15:14do you think Payton fits in this team?
- 15:16I mean, seriously.
- 15:18I think that she will use Payton until she works out
- 15:21whatever problems she's having with Brooke and Paige.
- 15:23And then Brooke will come back, and Payton will be kicked out
- 15:25again. - I think--
- 15:27- Because that's what she does. - --that's wrong.
- 15:28Payton and I want to be on this team.
- 15:29We want to be permanent team members.
- 15:32And we're going to do whatever it takes to stay on this team.
- 15:34You know, Payton and I would die to have the opportunity
- 15:37that your kids have.
- 15:38Careful what you wish for, Leslie.
- 15:40And I know you say that, but that's
- 15:42why I've been doing this for 16 years.
- 15:44She would die just for a little bit of that.
- 15:49[upbeat music]
- 15:54ANTHONY: Foom, fa, foom, fa, foom, foom, foom, foom.
- 16:00CATHY (VOICEOVER): Our group number this week
- 16:02is the "Four Seasons"--
- 16:04classical, contemporary.
- 16:07We have Hadley as winter, Nicaya as fall or autumn,
- 16:12Mary as spring, and Brooke as summer.
- 16:15Where does that leave Lucas?
- 16:17He's kind of the instigator that's got the seasons going
- 16:20the ultimate extreme.
- 16:21I think it's our turn for a win.
- 16:24Let's rock it, Candy Apples.
- 16:26Good job.
- 16:27Love you all.
- 16:28ABBY LEE: OK, but your arms--
- 16:29push, push, circle, close.
- 16:32Start to roll down, down.
- 16:34CHRISTI: So Jill, when we see Candy Apples,
- 16:35are you going to be sad that you're not part of their team?
- 16:37Oh, stop with it.
- 16:38We should all carry--
- 16:39Why do you have to bring that up?
- 16:40We should all--
- 16:41I hate you for bringing that up.
- 16:42Now I got crazy.
- 16:43We should all go buy designer bag knockoffs
- 16:46and fill them with bricks and walk like this, like Cathy.
- 16:49[clicking tongue]
- 16:50And then when she comes by, everybody hit her with them.
- 16:52- And say, oh! - I'm game!
- 16:53CHRISTI: I know you are, but we have to buy knock-offs,
- 16:55so that it--
- 16:56No, why knock-- oh, you mean to--
- 16:57No. No, not--
- 16:57--emulate her?
- 16:58I'm dying to know who's on her team.
- 17:00I am, too.
- 17:01Oh, me too.
- 17:02And because the rumor is Zack left.
- 17:05MELISSA: Black Patsy gets on my fricking nerves.
- 17:07My blood-- - How about the fact--
- 17:08HOLLY: Gina was not--
- 17:09How about the fact--
- 17:10KRISTIE: Stay out of my personal space!
- 17:11OK. Wait, wait, wait, wait.
- 17:12She touches me, and-- KRISTIE: Wait, wait, wait.
- 17:13- She better-- - Sorry, I spit on you.
- 17:14--stay out of your personal space, 'cause--
- 17:15And tells me to stay--
- 17:16--I'm going to deck her.
- 17:17JILL: --out of her personal space.
- 17:18KRISTIE: No, I just forgot.
- 17:18I'm going to deck her.
- 17:25[electronic dance music]
- 17:28You hungry?
- 17:28Mm-hmm.
- 17:29I'm starving.
- 17:30CATHY (VOICEOVER): I brought Vivi and my mom
- 17:32out to eat to discuss this week's competition.
- 17:34Well, I'm glad that we're all here, because I wanted
- 17:37to ask you if you wanted to go to Lancaster with me
- 17:40this weekend.
- 17:41CATHY'S MOM: [sighs]
- 17:42Yeah, I guess.
- 17:43CATHY: Well--
- 17:45It's a long drive, but-- CATHY: Yes, I know it is.
- 17:46It's awfully long.
- 17:47I'm not looking forward to that, but I'm
- 17:48taking this special team, and it's new.
- 17:51Well, you know, I always like to go and support you.
- 17:54Well, that's nice, because, you know,
- 17:56this is the first time that you're
- 17:57going to see Abby since--
- 17:58Oh, yes.
- 17:59CATHY: --she called you pathetic.
- 18:00Oh, yes.
- 18:01And I just think that with Abby being there,
- 18:05it's important that--
- 18:06Maybe I should trip her down the steps.
- 18:07CATHY: Nah, I don't know.
- 18:08Last time that we saw her, we lost to her.
- 18:11That's when we did the bicycle number, which was brilliant.
- 18:14So it's our turn to win.
- 18:15I will have my revenge against ALDC.
- 18:19Oh, I can't get this out.
- 18:22CATHY'S MOM: She's an eater.
- 18:23CATHY: Yeah, I know.
- 18:24She likes food.
- 18:25CATHY: Did you know, Vivi, that grandma tap danced?
- 18:29But did you know that grandma was--
- 18:32A Granny Apple.
- 18:34She was?
- 18:35CATHY: Mm-hmm.
- 18:36And we had red skirts and white shirts that
- 18:39said Granny Apple on the back.
- 18:42We're the three musketeers.
- 18:43That's right.
- 18:44Aren't we?
- 18:46[electronic dance music]
- 18:48[MUSIC - I AM NOT LEFTHANDED, "BOATS (SWEPT AWAY)"]
- 18:50ABBY LEE: Too much flexed feet, too pigeon-toed there.
- 18:56Supporting foot needs to [inaudible] and stretch!
- 18:59ABBY LEE (VOICEOVER): We have a trio this week.
- 19:00These three castaways are doing a contemporary jazz routine.
- 19:04Now, are they going to be strong enough and clean enough
- 19:07to beat whatever the crab apple is bringing?
- 19:11That I don't know.
- 19:12ABBY LEE: Supporting foot needs to point!
- 19:16That knee is bent again!
- 19:18I don't think that trio is meant to win.
- 19:20I don't think so.
- 19:21HOLLY (VOICEOVER): This is Nia's first trio in a really long
- 19:23time.
- 19:24I hope Abby gets this trio in shape because there's
- 19:26a lot of stake at this new competition,
- 19:28and I definitely don't want to lose to Cathy.
- 19:30Tomorrow, we come in.
- 19:31We get on the bus.
- 19:32We go.
- 19:33Understand?
- 19:36I like this spot right here.
- 19:38Yeah, I know.
- 19:39Hopefully, it's mine permanently.
- 19:40No, I'm pretty sure it's still Kelly's.
- 19:42JILL: Really, Leslie?
- 19:43Is that your goal?
- 19:44Is that--
- 19:44Absolutely, it's my goal.
- 19:46You want Payton, who's 15, to dance with--
- 19:48LESLIE: Well, you know what? - --10-year-olds?
- 19:49Then she can bring somebody-- there's another spot open.
- 19:51Bring somebody in her size, and it'll equal out.
- 19:53Wouldn't you want somebody on your team
- 19:55that is 100% for the team?
- 19:57If Brooke walked through that door,
- 19:58I think that she would put Brooke in the number.
- 20:00I don't think Kelly and Brooke and Paige
- 20:01should be able to come back.
- 20:02Three times you leave the team?
- 20:06When is it time that you're not allowed back?
- 20:08From my perspective, watching Abby yesterday,
- 20:11she missed Brooke being in this number
- 20:13because there are things she wanted the kids to do,
- 20:16and they're not Brooke.
- 20:18In the group number, you're going
- 20:20to watch Payton and give her choreography that she can do.
- 20:23Leslie must be on some sort of mind-altering drug-- you know,
- 20:26probably one she borrowed from Melissa--
- 20:27if she thinks she's going to replace Kelly on this team.
- 20:30I plan to tell Abby that we really want this spot.
- 20:33I don't want this just to be another fill-in week.
- 20:35Everybody has to think of the real reason
- 20:37why we're sitting here in the first place.
- 20:39It's to get our child ahead in dance.
- 20:41CHRISTI: Well, Candy Apples has a lot of teams.
- 20:43Maybe you need to go there.
- 20:45JILL: Cathy is trying so hard to come up
- 20:47with a group of kids that can beat our group of kids.
- 20:50Her boys didn't work out, so she gets rid of the boys.
- 20:53She brings in a new group.
- 20:54What kind of teacher is that?
- 20:56I am so sick of Cathy's tricks.
- 20:58I want to make sure that us moms stick together this week,
- 21:02and we hand that crab apple a loss.
- 21:04Are we sticking together?
- 21:05Because, you know, once we get there, Cathy's--
- 21:09they're going to come after us or me.
- 21:11Now why are you saying this?
- 21:13Have you guys not stuck together in the past?
- 21:14Yes!
- 21:15No, we have.
- 21:16I feel like I'm getting ready to go, like, to battle.
- 21:19You're our-- what did you call yourself?
- 21:21The boy who fights in hockey?
- 21:22The goon.
- 21:23(LAUGHING) The goon.
- 21:24I'm not the goon.
- 21:25Maybe Leslie has a purpose after all.
- 21:27I could get used to her going in as the muscle to fight
- 21:29with Cathy this weekend. LESLIE: Morning.
- 21:31HOLLY: Hi, good morning.
- 21:31JILL: Good morning.
- 21:33Good afternoon.
- 21:34New face, how are you?
- 21:35I'm good.
- 21:36Good.
- 21:37Finally getting to sit in Kelly's seat?
- 21:39I just want to let you know that she is really enjoying
- 21:42this, and we are going to take every opportunity that
- 21:44comes our way.
- 21:44And that's why we are here.
- 21:45Payton has the energy.
- 21:47Payton has the desire.
- 21:48She wants to do it.
- 21:49She wants to be the best.
- 21:50She wants this.
- 21:52But for this routine that we're doing right now,
- 21:55when I envisioned this number, I had Brooke on that prop,
- 22:00and she could do all that contortion work, that rolling
- 22:03around on the floor.
- 22:05All of that was supposed to take place on that prop.
- 22:07Payton doesn't have those skills.
- 22:08She has other skills.
- 22:10I hate to say it, Leslie, but we told you so.
- 22:13Brooke just has a certain skill set that's difficult for Abby
- 22:15to replace.
- 22:17Do you know how hard it is when you don't-- when she gets
- 22:19kicked off this team every time?
- 22:20It's not about being kicked off the team.
- 22:22It's about not being right for the piece that we're doing.
- 22:24But it still feels that way to--
- 22:25ABBY LEE: Right.
- 22:25Well--
- 22:26--a 14, 15-year-old.
- 22:27So every time I explain to her, but you still
- 22:29have to be there when she asks you back
- 22:30and we are going to keep doing that, we don't want that.
- 22:33We want to be a permanent spot.
- 22:34ABBY LEE (VOICEOVER): Leslie is in my face about Payton
- 22:37being on the team and being a permanent member and blah,
- 22:39blah, blah.
- 22:40You know what, Leslie?
- 22:41You are not making a very good case for Payton's future.
- 22:45[exhales]
- 22:47I want to remind you what this competition means to everybody
- 22:50and what's at stake.
- 22:51Lots of things are at stake at this one.
- 22:52I want to win.
- 22:54CATHY (VOICEOVER): Everybody needs
- 22:55to bring it to the table this weekend at the competition.
- 22:58CATHY: Moms, Anthony has requested that you
- 23:00keep your chatter to a minimum.
- 23:02And Anthony is going to keep his bold corrections to a minimum.
- 23:05Who said that?
- 23:06I did.
- 23:08CATHY (VOICEOVER): This trio is parody on those moms trying
- 23:13to be spies.
- 23:14So we've got a spy musical theater jazz
- 23:17routine going to the stage.
- 23:19ANTHONY: Watch your face. (CLAPPING)
- 23:20Why am I seeing your face?
- 23:22Why am I seeing your face?
- 23:23I don't want to see your face until you put the newspaper
- 23:25down.
- 23:27Go back.
- 23:29CATHY: Do you think that your bark is worse than your bite?
- 23:33ANTHONY: I don't bite.
- 23:33CATHY: You bark though.
- 23:34ANTHONY: I bark.
- 23:35Bigger lean-- sharper, sharper.
- 23:38Bop, bop, lay.
- 23:40Did you change that part where they were all
- 23:42going the same way?
- 23:43ANTHONY: Yeah, I did, because Brooke couldn't get it.
- 23:46Because Brooke couldn't get it?
- 23:50ANTHONY: I'm talking about her not getting her choreography.
- 23:52That's what I'm talking about.
- 23:52MICHELLE: Really?
- 23:54Whatever I took out.
- 23:55And it's done, so quiet.
- 23:58CATHY: Anthony--
- 23:59CATHY (VOICEOVER): I am tired of fighting with Anthony.
- 24:02He needs to remember who signs his checks.
- 24:05Honestly, I think that Anthony likes to perform when you get
- 24:09in here.
- 24:10So just know that I have--
- 24:11ANTHONY: No.
- 24:12--the kids' best interest at heart.
- 24:14ANTHONY: Yeah, 'cause I'm a true performer.
- 24:15Hey, how about you take a seat--
- 24:16CATHY: I don't need to take a seat.
- 24:18ANTHONY: --and enjoy the show. - I don't need to take a seat.
- 24:19ANTHONY: You take a seat and enjoy the real show.
- 24:20Listen, listen.
- 24:21I'm Miss Candy Apples, and you are not.
- 24:23ANTHONY: It sure can be ABD--
- 24:24So you always have to keep that in mind.
- 24:25--Anthony Burrell Dance.
- 24:25You better best believe.
- 24:26CATHY: Yeah, OK. - It can happen.
- 24:27CATHY: OK, OK.
- 24:28And I will have a squash of a team--
- 24:29OK, I hear ya.
- 24:31--because half of this team will be coming with me.
- 24:32I hear ya.
- 24:32[dramatic music]
- 24:40[shouting]
- 24:41[electronic dance music]
- 24:42CROWD: Cathy!
- 24:42Cathy!
- 24:43Cathy!
- 24:44Cathy!
- 24:45Cathy!
- 24:46Cathy!
- 24:47Cathy!
- 24:48CATHY (VOICEOVER): We're going up against the Abby Lee Dance
- 24:50Company here in Pennsylvania.
- 24:52We have a group dance and a trio.
- 24:55Anthony's mom is here, and my mom is here.
- 24:58That sounds like an unbeatable combination.
- 25:00[screaming]
- 25:05ABBY LEE (VOICEOVER): Here we are at Believe Talent
- 25:07Competition in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
- 25:09I think that our routines are going to knock Cathy
- 25:12right off that broomstick.
- 25:15And the Abby Lee Dance Company is
- 25:17going to make a name for themselves
- 25:19at this brand-new Believe Talent Competition.
- 25:24Oh, this is great.
- 25:25ABBY LEE (VOICEOVER): This week, we also
- 25:26have a tag-along, Leslie.
- 25:28Now her daughter, Payton, is a great addition to the team.
- 25:31Payton works well with the other kids,
- 25:33and she looks great in this number.
- 25:35I'm not so sure about her mother, Leslie,
- 25:37but I do know she's a vast improvement over Kelly.
- 25:41So Leslie, let me just say, Payton, that I'm
- 25:44happy you're here, but I am--
- 25:45Are you happier that we're here and Kelly's not?
- 25:47Is that what you're trying to say?
- 25:48Well, I can't say happier. That--
- 25:49ABBY LEE: Oh, I am! - That's not fair.
- 25:50I'm hoping that you guys get used to it being Payton
- 25:52and I here and Kelly not coming back.
- 25:54ABBY LEE: It's fine.
- 25:55Listen to me, Kendall.
- 25:56You know what, Payton?
- 25:57Just so all of you know, my name is Payton.
- 25:59It's not Kendall. It's not Brooke.
- 26:00It's none of you.
- 26:01It's Payton.
- 26:02HOLLY: Yes, yes.
- 26:03ABBY LEE (VOICEOVER): Just what she did right now, like,
- 26:05saying her name like that, that's a 15 going
- 26:07on 16-year-old thing.
- 26:09You would never, ever hear one of these kids talk
- 26:12to me that way.
- 26:13No, she wasn't talking to you.
- 26:14She just said that.
- 26:14That's a smart mouth.
- 26:15She wasn't being smart.
- 26:17And as a parent, you should take her outside
- 26:18and have a little chat.
- 26:20No, you're missing what she's trying to tell you.
- 26:21She's trying to tell you-- ABBY LEE: No, because I kept--
- 26:23--that she's a person!
- 26:24--calling her Kendall in rehearsal by mistake!
- 26:24LESLIE: Confuse--
- 26:25I say lots of kids' names!
- 26:26She's lucky I even know her name!
- 26:28LESLIE: I didn't--
- 26:28So shut your mouth!
- 26:31I'm going to ask you a question right now, Miss Payton.
- 26:33And if you answer me yes, then you're--
- 26:36LESLIE: Don't answer.
- 26:37--where you should be at 15 years old.
- 26:40Do you have your solo costume with you?
- 26:42No?
- 26:43Then keep the smart mouth to yourself,
- 26:45because you'd have brought it just in case
- 26:47I wanted to write you in.
- 26:49Leslie wants Kelly's spot so desperately.
- 26:52CHRISTI (VOICEOVER): That seat has a name on it,
- 26:54and it's not Leslie.
- 26:55Clearly, as soon as Kelly comes back, Leslie is out the door.
- 26:58You know what?
- 27:00Can you all listen to me while you're doing whatever?
- 27:02No surprises here, the kids are going up against Kendall,
- 27:06Chloe, and Nia.
- 27:08That's their trio.
- 27:10So I need you guys to really go out there and sell this, OK?
- 27:14There's scores to be settled when it comes to talents.
- 27:18And Anthony's mom is here.
- 27:20My mom is here.
- 27:21So we're excited, right?
- 27:23Absolutely.
- 27:25But you know what?
- 27:26There's some people here that don't know our chant.
- 27:28Oh, yes. Let's do it.
- 27:29Come on.
- 27:30Everybody put your hands in.
- 27:31Everyone, who are we?
- 27:33ALL: Apple core, apple core, apple core!
- 27:35[cheering]
- 27:37CATHY (VOICEOVER): I think it's our turn for a win.
- 27:39And nothing drives Abby off the brink than when Candy Apples
- 27:43Dance Center beats ALDC.
- 27:46So let's rock it, Candy Apples.
- 27:48CATHY: Do good, guys. Do good.
- 27:49[ominous music]
- 27:50ABBY LEE: All right, girls, listen up.
- 27:51Everybody, listen to me.
- 27:53I want as little interaction with that other team
- 27:56as possible.
- 28:00Let's go.
- 28:01HOLLY: Break a leg. LESLIE: Hey, break a leg, girls.
- 28:02[inaudible] HOLLY: Break a leg.
- 28:03ABBY LEE: Are you going to get them back in and come
- 28:04sit with us?
- 28:05Hey.
- 28:06Oh, here they come.
- 28:08Hi.
- 28:09MELISSA I could see her Spanx.
- 28:11Whose Spanx?
- 28:12LESLIE: Your Spanx are squeezing your thighs too tight.
- 28:14I see her Spanx.
- 28:16Look it.
- 28:17KRISTIE (VOICEOVER): Right now, I'm watching Yvette,
- 28:19and I think it's going to go down.
- 28:20I was on a competition with Yvette and Asia.
- 28:23She said that she would ruin my daughter
- 28:26at six years old if she ever--
- 28:27I never said that. I--
- 28:28Are you kidding me?
- 28:29YVETTE: No, I would never do that.
- 28:30You stood there, and you said, I will ruin your daughter--
- 28:32YVETTE: No! - --if she ever--
- 28:33I would never take it out on the kid--
- 28:34KRISTIE: Are you kidding me? - --ever.
- 28:35KRISTIE: You know what?
- 28:35I said be careful.
- 28:36Uh-huh.
- 28:37You don't know who I am.
- 28:40I did say that.
- 28:41Well, I'm glad I don't know a person that would say that
- 28:43about six-year-old.
- 28:44I did not say that--
- 28:45- OK? --about a six-year-old. - Really, Yvette?
- 28:46- Come on. - Yes, Kristie.
- 28:47Let's go.
- 28:48Yeah, really, Yvette.
- 28:48Yes.
- 28:50KRISTIE: Take your Spanx off. Take--
- 28:51YVETTE (VOICEOVER): I absolutely think Kristie Ray has it
- 28:53out for me.
- 28:54I don't know what it is.
- 28:55Is it my blonde hair?
- 28:56Is it my daughter?
- 28:57I take her accusations with a grain of salt.
- 29:00[electronic dance music]
- 29:05CATHY: Anthony and I put a great deal
- 29:07into working with the trio.
- 29:10I hope that the trio does well.
- 29:11ANNOUNCER: Please help me welcome to the stage, "Spies
- 29:14Like Them," [inaudible].
- 29:18[applause]
- 29:19[MUSIC - BRYAN STEELE, "LIVE AND DIE"]
- 29:21(SINGING) Yeah.
- 29:22Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 29:25Yeah, yeah.
- 29:37Ladies--
- 29:40[record scratching]
- 29:41(SINGING) And this is how you do it.
- 29:42Yeah.
- 29:44Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 29:46Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 29:48Yeah, yeah.
- 29:51[applause]
- 29:53[dramatic music]
- 29:55ABBY LEE (VOICEOVER): Cathy's trio is a mess.
- 29:58I'm not sure if the whole thing was improvved.
- 30:01My trio looks good.
- 30:02It's unbeatable.
- 30:04ANNOUNCER: Judges, up next will be Entry Number 43A, 43A.
- 30:08MELISSA (VOICEOVER): So Anthony is standing
- 30:10against the wall over there.
- 30:11And Anthony and us moms have this really bad relationship.
- 30:15ANTHONY: Yeah, do not touch my props ever again.
- 30:16I didn't know it was your prop.
- 30:18Well, that's what I'm saying. You don't--
- 30:19But you keep your hands off of a lady.
