3. 0:05role I'm not talking about where she
4. 0:06lives what she looks like anything like
5. 0:08that nothing personal this is purely
6. 0:10professional and this is purely
7. 0:11governmental
8. 0:12can I continue try to keep it
9. 0:14professional I've already told you what
10. 0:15I'm doing and I'm making that very clear
11. 0:17and I'm not going to change
12. 0:18keep it professional I have not I have
13. 0:21only kept this professional you were
14. 0:23debating me and you were violating your
15. 0:24own rules I'm here to talk as a parent
16. 0:27I've got two young boys uh we live in
17. 0:30Glendale and when they come of age I am
18. 0:33deeply concerned about their educational
19. 0:35prospects in this city I'm also a
20. 0:38taxpayer I pay a lot of taxes in this
21. 0:41city many of which go to this district
22. 0:43and I'm deeply concerned about how that
23. 0:45money is being spent particularly
24. 0:47and I'm going to single out a person at
25. 0:49the uh in the school district named uh
26. 0:52Dr Kelly King who's sitting right here
27. 0:54to my left
28. 0:56um Dr Kelly King
29. 0:57makes over 250 000 a year every four
30. 1:00years we give her a million dollars
31. 1:02we'll be paying for her pension for
32. 1:05you know the duration of her life after
33. 1:07she retires and she's doing things that
34. 1:10I completely disagree with and I think
35. 1:12many of the many members of the
36. 1:13community would also disagree with
37. 1:15previous uh speakers have mentioned the
38. 1:18number of Armenians who live in Glendale
39. 1:20how many Armenians would support what
40. 1:22she does let me discuss what she's doing
41. 1:25uh in a recent video in 2017 she
42. 1:28reflected Glendale Unified policy when
43. 1:30she stated
44. 1:31and I'm going to quote
45. 1:33we have a lot of resistance from male
46. 1:36coaches
47. 1:38who are horrified at the thought of
48. 1:41having a biological girl
49. 1:44changing clothes in front of them
50. 1:47which biological girls are changing
51. 1:49clothes in front of coaches in Glendale
52. 1:51Unified that's a question I'm genuinely
53. 1:54asking she continued it's not a girl
54. 1:57it's not a girl it's not a girl
55. 2:00you only have boys in the boys locker

57. 2:04she just said it was a biological girl
58. 2:08no I'm speaking I'm interrupting my time

61. 2:15that to refrain from personal attacks so
62. 2:17she is a government official she's a
63. 2:19government employee this is not a
64. 2:21personal attack I pay her I pay her
65. 2:23salary
66. 2:25again please talk towards the policies
67. 2:28that you are talking against and refrain
68. 2:31from personal attacks and your time will
69. 2:33continue please go ahead in what way if
70. 2:35I personally attacked Dr King she is
71. 2:38acting within her official role as
72. 2:40assistant superintendent at Glendale
73. 2:42Unified how is that a personal attack
74. 2:44I'm talking about tax dollars being used
75. 2:47in a way that I disagree with
76. 2:49I'm going to continue continue talking
77. 2:51about the policy that you disagree with
78. 2:53Dr King quoted quoted to say that
79. 2:56biological girls were changing in front
80. 2:58of male coaches and then so she knows
81. 3:01it's a biological girl and then
82. 3:02proceeded to say it's not a girl three
83. 3:04times you know it's a girl you know it's
84. 3:07a girl
85. 3:09and uh if you wouldn't mind telling us
86. 3:13what policy you dislike there isn't why
87. 3:15am I being interrupted for speaking
88. 3:17about an official member
89. 3:19a superintendent at Glendale Unified
90. 3:23speaking in an official manner you
91. 3:25cannot interrupt me for that you have no
92. 3:26ability to do that and furthermore the
93. 3:29rule stated you won't debate you're
94. 3:31debating me right now
95. 3:34correct I'm going to continue
96. 3:36uh in discussing uh uh uh permanent
97. 3:39records
98. 3:41she states that she keeps permanent
99. 3:43records for a handful of trans students
100. 3:45literally next to her in her room she
101. 3:48does not indicate that person's uh
102. 3:51gender identity for fear that the parent
103. 3:54might find out
104. 3:56why is she concealing this from parents
105. 3:58she says
106. 3:59we kind of go out on a limb and we know
107. 4:02that's controversial to some people
108. 4:03which people
109. 4:04which parents Armenian parents Christian
110. 4:07parents are those the ones who are being
111. 4:09excluded from knowledge on their own on
112. 4:12their own children in their own identity
113. 4:14in glendale's Unified School District
114. 4:16and you you preach You Preach inclusive
115. 4:19policies we can talk about that policy
116. 4:21yet she's excluding parents
117. 4:24because she's excluding parents I'm
118. 4:26going to continue I'm going to continue
119. 4:27and I might just ask for a pause and ask
120. 4:30for information maybe I'm mistaken may I

124. 4:42um in terms of um is this so my
125. 4:45understanding again is that we we are
126. 4:48the Arbiters of policy that is our
127. 4:50decision and so our employees are
128. 4:52operating based off of our Direction and
129. 4:56the direction up here at the diet so it
130. 4:57is appropriate to criticize the policy
131. 5:00it is appropriate to question that it is
132. 5:01not appropriate to to personally attack
133. 5:05and denigrate a specific employee I do
134. 5:07not believe that that is covered under
135. 5:09under the public comment I'm not
136. 5:11personally attacking anybody sir no
137. 5:13ma'am I am not I am not personally
138. 5:16attacking her I disagree with what she
139. 5:18said in her role as super as assistant
140. 5:20superintendent I agree with the policy
141. 5:22so please continue with the disagreement
142. 5:23of the policy
143. 5:25I am disagreeing with her and this is
144. 5:27not you are debating me right now you
145. 5:29said you would not debate me
146. 5:31why are you debating me so you're using
147. 5:33that particular thing uh inappropriately
148. 5:35the fact that we're not that we don't
149. 5:37debate so I'm not attacking her
150. 5:39personally this is under her official
151. 5:40role as assistant superintendent at
152. 5:42Glendale Unified you are not allowing me
153. 5:45to speak freely in a government in a
154. 5:48government entity about a government
155. 5:50employee I pay her taxes I have every
156. 5:53right to speak about her in particular
157. 5:55within her role I'm not talking about
158. 5:57where she lives what she looks like
159. 5:58anything like that nothing personal this
160. 6:00is purely professional and this is
161. 6:02purely governmental

173. 6:26Spectrum an organization which you guys
174. 6:29have actually paid money to
175. 6:31in several schools if that's not a
176. 6:33conflict of interest I don't know what
177. 6:34is she's worked with gender or Spectrum
178. 6:37to produce gender support plans in these
179. 6:39gender support plans she ranks parents
180. 6:43whether on on how affirming they are on
181. 6:45a scale of 0 to 10 who determines that
182. 6:48based on what criteria
183. 6:50I'd love to know that policy
184. 6:52she says if the parents not affirming
185. 6:56the parent may not be involved in this
186. 6:58document that's the gender support plan
187. 7:00this may be a private
188. 7:03conversation so let's talk personal now
189. 7:05because she is
190. 7:07this may be a private conversation
191. 7:09between that trusted adult at the school
192. 7:12is that adult trusted by the parent
193. 7:15who is The Trusted adult Define trust

197. 7:23and the student about how we keep you
198. 7:25safe at home emotionally and physically
199. 7:28who's personal
200. 7:30who's professional personally I'm being
201. 7:33professional
202. 7:35what she has done in the in the policies
203. 7:37you have none of you have spoken out
204. 7:40against
205. 7:41is a complete deviation from that that
206. 7:45that sacred boundary between government
207. 7:48and personal lives and privacy
208. 7:50especially of minors and we're talking
209. 7:53about sexuality sexual identity
210. 7:56and you're not going to divulge that to
211. 7:58parents intentionally and again she
212. 8:01makes over 250 000 a year
213. 8:04wow 43 only 43 percent of Glendale
214. 8:09Unified Glendale Unified high schoolers
215. 8:12are proficient in math upon graduation
216. 8:14only 65 percent are proficient in
217. 8:17reading and you pay that much money
218. 8:20to Institute those policies while you're
219. 8:23failing literally failing to produce the
220. 8:26adequate students for the 21st century
