- 0:00When a love story ends, the easiest
- 0:02path is denial. Denying who loved first
- 0:04, or that the "I love you" was ever
- 0:06sincere. Denying that no one was ever
- 0:08forced, or that the affection we shared
- 0:10actually existed. The easiest path
- 0:12would be to hate each other, blaming
- 0:13the other for their mistakes and bad
- 0:15decisions. The easy way would be to
- 0:17throw in our faces the differences we
- 0:19once embraced so our paths could walk
- 0:21together. The easiest path would be to
- 0:24erase you like an accessory, detach,
- 0:26and pretend we just used each other to
- 0:28not be alone. But that would be lying
- 0:30to ourselves, and I cannot deceive
- 0:32myself. I cannot fool my heart and mind
- 0:34into thinking I never really loved you.
- 0:36To hate you would be to hate a part of
- 0:38me. "What if" doesn't exist, and
- 0:40perhaps I can't change what happened,
- 0:42but I can grow from the experience I
- 0:44have today. That is why, in the present
- 0:46, facing you now, I say, I am grateful
- 0:48for the tears and the good times. Now I
- 0:50let you go without denial, and though
- 0:52it’s hard, I prefer the acceptance
- 0:54that we loved each other. Without
- 0:56resentment, I say thank you because we
- 0:58were.
