- 0:05hello everyone and welcome or welcome
- 0:07back to my channel if you don't know me
- 0:09my name is Sarah and in today's tutorial
- 0:11we are going to be crocheting a shark
- 0:13now I made a bunch of these for my last
- 0:15market and sold out on all but the
- 0:17orange one which if you know anything
- 0:19about markets orange and yellow tend to
- 0:21be the worst seller so it makes sense
- 0:23for this pattern I would say shy away
- 0:26from the size four velvet yarn they just
- 0:29don't turn out as nice nice with that
- 0:30velvet yarn but I'm sure a burnout
- 0:32blanket might work or even like a skinny
- 0:35Chanel and an acrylic yarn let's get
- 0:37right into this we're going to first go
- 0:38through the material list before I go
- 0:40any further I forgot to mention if you
- 0:42prefer the written pattern check out the
- 0:44description I have both the pattern in
- 0:46my ribler shop and in my coffee shop I
- 0:48use loops and threads sweet snuggles
- 0:50light or their Chanel H home slim
- 0:52whichever one they're both
- 0:53interchangeable you will need a base
- 0:55color and then you will need a belly
- 0:57color for this I'll be using white and
- 0:59then optionally you can have a small
- 1:01amount of black yarn to make the gills
- 1:04on the side of the head and next up for
- 1:06materials you'll need a crochet hook I
- 1:08use a 5.5 when working with a size six
- 1:10yarn but use whatever hook works best
- 1:12for you and your yarn type and I have a
- 1:14pair of scissors stitch marker if you
- 1:16need one and then a sewing needle I
- 1:19recommend plastic if you're curious how
- 1:20I work with the Chanel yarn I have a
- 1:22tips and tricks video which I'll have
- 1:24Linked In the description for you and
- 1:25one of those tips is to use a plastic
- 1:26needle rather than metal the way I begin
- 1:29my Chanel pieces I use some acrylic yarn
- 1:32so if you use that method that will also
- 1:34be in the tips and tricks video if you
- 1:35want to check it out I'm using a 20 mm
- 1:38these are 20 mm eyes for this shark and
- 1:41I think that's about it for the
- 1:42materialist so let's just get started we
- 1:43are going to begin with the body so
- 1:45we'll be using the primary color and you
- 1:48can make a magic ring or use your chain
- 1:50two method whichever one I will be using
- 1:53the acrylic magic ring method where you
- 1:55basically use the acrylic yarn in place
- 1:57of the Chanel for the actual Center
- 2:00P just like so but whatever method you
- 2:03end up using make sure you have six
- 2:04single crochets into that first
- 2:14round for round two you're going to
- 2:17increase and single crochet one and
- 2:20you're going to repeat that three times
- 2:38now if you're using a stitch marker feel
- 2:40free to insert it into the final Stitch
- 2:42of each round and for round three we're
- 2:45going to increase single crochet two
- 2:50[Music]
- 3:09I'm going to secure my Tails real quick
- 3:12if you want you can do this a little bit
- 3:13later but I like to do this before I
- 3:15turn my work right side
- 3:25out just some basic knots to tie
- 3:27everything together is sufficient
- 3:31and now we're going to do round four
- 3:32which is an increase in single crochet
- 3:34three and you're going to repeat that
- 3:35three times
- 3:41[Music]
- 3:50[Music]
- 4:00we're done with round four now we're
- 4:01going to move on to round five you're
- 4:02going to increase and single crochet
- 4:04four and you're going to repeat that
- 4:06three times
- 4:14[Music]
- 4:27[Music]
- 4:31once you're finished with round five
- 4:32we're going to do round six which is an
- 4:34increase and single crochet five and
- 4:36you'll repeat that three times
- 4:51[Music]
- 4:57[Music]
- 5:02for round seven we are going to increase
- 5:04and then single crochet six and you'll
- 5:06repeat that three times
- 5:10[Music]
- 5:27[Music]
- 5:38[Music]
- 5:42we done with round seven we're going to
- 5:43do round eight which is an increase
- 5:45single crochet seven and we'll repeat
- 5:48that three times
- 6:05[Music]
- 6:24[Music]
- 6:25when you're done with round eight we're
- 6:26going to do round nine which is an
- 6:27increase and single crochet eight and
- 6:30you'll repeat that three times
- 7:15once you're done with round nine we're
- 7:16going to do round 10 and for round 10 we
- 7:19will just simply be single crocheting in
- 7:21each Stitch around
- 7:30[Music]
- 7:46[Music]
- 8:05once you're done with round 10 we're
- 8:06going to do round 11 where we're going
- 8:08to increase in single crochet 9 and you
- 8:10repeat that three times
- 8:56and that is round 11 finished and also
- 8:59our last increase round complete so now
- 9:01for the next two rounds we're going to
- 9:03single crochet in each Stitch
- 10:36and that is the end of our single
- 10:38crochet rounds now we're going to insert
- 10:41the safety eyes now the best way to
- 10:44insert your safety eyes is to figure out
- 10:46where your increases are so if you hold
- 10:49your shark you can actually kind of see
- 10:51where a triangle begins to form and it
- 10:54doesn't really matter where you hold it
- 10:56there will be a triangle because of
- 10:58where we placed our ink increases now
- 11:00what you want to do is you want to
- 11:02insert your eyes on two of these
- 11:05increases if that makes sense right
- 11:07across from each other with one of the
- 11:09increases so like the poiner side facing
- 11:12down right now it's facing up but when
- 11:15it when we finish the plushy it will be
- 11:16facing down and that way we can sew the
- 11:19belly on and get the belly nice and
- 11:22tight and just stretch it over you're
- 11:24going to insert them so here's my
- 11:26increase here I'm going to go 1 2 3 3 4
- 11:295 6 7 8 and N9 and go right under one of
- 11:33those increases and now what we can do
- 11:36is go to the other side so I'm going to
- 11:37flip it over and we can trace this round
- 11:41around and insert our safety eye just
- 11:44above the other increase so we have both
- 11:47our increases down here eyes up here and
- 11:50an increase up here on top if that makes
- 11:52any sense I hope it does um if it
- 11:55doesn't just insert the safety eyes with
- 11:57like a little bit more like one extra
- 11:59exra stitch on the bottom
- 12:02and looking at this I will move my eyes
- 12:05a little bit you want them to be fairly
- 12:07even but with a little bit more space on
- 12:10the one
- 12:25side if you look at the eyes you can see
- 12:28they're about even
- 12:29but one side just has an extra Stitch
- 12:31and it's going to be this
- 12:33side has an extra little space and this
- 12:37is where we'll be sewing the belly that
- 12:39way the belly doesn't have any lumps and
- 12:41it's nice and flat so hopefully that
- 12:43made sense and we're going to move on to
- 12:45our next round and the next round is our
- 12:48first decrease round so we're going to
- 12:50decrease and then single crochet 9ine
- 12:53and you're going to repeat that three
- 12:55times I use the invisible decrease but
- 12:57go ahead and use whatever decrease you
- 12:59would normally use
- 13:13[Music]
- 13:31[Music]
- 13:36that's the first decrease round done and
- 13:38for the next round we are just going to
- 13:39be single crocheting in each Stitch
- 13:41around
- 13:59[Music]
- 14:20[Music]
- 14:25that's the end of that single crochet
- 14:26round now we're going to move on to
- 14:28round six 16 where we will decrease in
- 14:31single crochet 8 and you'll repeat that
- 14:33three times
- 14:38[Music]
- 15:21[Music]
- 15:25once you have finished that decrease
- 15:26round we are going to single crochet in
- 15:29in each Stitch around
- 15:36[Music]
- 15:51[Music]
- 15:56[Music]
- 16:02[Music]
- 16:14once you finished that single crochet
- 16:15round we are going to decrease and then
- 16:17single crochet 7even and we'll repeat
- 16:19that three times
- 16:28[Music]
- 16:49[Music]
- 17:15once we finished with that single
- 17:16crochet round feel free to stuff as you
- 17:19go I think I'm going to wait a little
- 17:21bit longer but I will you know what I'll
- 17:24start stuffing the tip I realized I
- 17:26don't really talk about stuffing that
- 17:28often and and I think it's really
- 17:29important especially watching my
- 17:31beginner sister learn a
- 17:33crochet um for stuffing the way you want
- 17:35to do it is you don't want it to be too
- 17:37hard that it can hurt somebody and you
- 17:39want it to be hard enough that it will
- 17:42hold its shape so what I like to do is
- 17:45if your stuffing is uh all clumped up
- 17:48break it up a bit so you kind of make
- 17:50like a layer and you want it to be kind
- 17:53of soft not too hard of a layer and you
- 17:55want to push that layer in and use your
- 17:57other hand to cup the plushy so here
- 18:00what I'm doing is cupping the bottom and
- 18:02I'm taking my hand and I'm stuffing the
- 18:04stuffing down towards the my cued hand
- 18:07and that just rounds everything out and
- 18:10then you do the same thing all the way
- 18:12around the plushy until that hole is
- 18:14filled and when you are tamping the
- 18:17stuffing down you only want to Tamp it
- 18:18enough that it stays in place and not
- 18:20enough that it becomes hard as a rock so
- 18:23this has taken a lot of practice my
- 18:26first plushies were under stuffed and
- 18:29over stuffed um so just practice and try
- 18:32and get better use your hand to cup it
- 18:34and use your other hand to just push it
- 18:37gently into place and don't be afraid to
- 18:40rip all the stuffing out and start again
- 18:42I still do that and I've been crocheting
- 18:44for 11 years now I still pull out the
- 18:47stuffing sometimes especially on bigger
- 18:49plushies you can just kind of get ahead
- 18:51of yourself and stuff it too hard so
- 18:54yeah that's my little stuffing lesson
- 18:56now we're going to continue decreasing
- 18:58for a few more rounds and we'll stuff
- 18:59some more we just finished our decrease
- 19:02round so we're going to single crochet
- 19:03in each Stitch around
- 19:39and for the next round we are going to
- 19:41decrease and then single crochet six and
- 19:43we'll repeat that three times
- 20:21okay once you're done with that you're
- 20:22going to single crochet in each Stitch
- 20:25around I'm sure you guys have figured
- 20:27out the pattern already you're just
- 20:29decreasing and then single
- 20:31crocheting and we're going to repeat
- 20:33that all the way down until we have six
- 20:45[Music]
- 20:55stitches once you're finished with that
- 20:57single crochet round round we're going
- 20:59to decrease and single crochet five and
- 21:01we'll repeat that three times
- 21:20[Music]
- 21:31and for the next round we are going to
- 21:33single crochet in each Stitch around
- 22:01once your single crochet round is
- 22:02complete feel free to stuff some more
- 22:05when you stuff I recommend staying about
- 22:093 or four rounds away from where you're
- 22:10actually working until you get to the
- 22:13point where you're at 12 or 9 or six
- 22:17stitches um that way you're not
- 22:20crocheting the stuffing into your plushy
- 22:22which is one of the most annoying things
- 22:24about stuffing a plushy in my opinion at
- 22:27least
- 23:37[Music]
- 23:43here we go we have a torpedo we are
- 23:46almost done with the body thankfully now
- 23:48we are on decrease single crochet 4 and
- 23:51you're going to repeat that three times
- 23:54[Music]
- 24:22[Music]
- 24:27once you're finished your decrease round
- 24:29you're going to single crochet in each
- 24:31Stitch around
- 25:00and now we are going to decrease and
- 25:01single crochet three and we'll repeat
- 25:03that three times
- 25:13[Music]
- 25:33once you finished with that decrease
- 25:34round you're going to do single crochet
- 25:36in each Stitch
- 25:44[Music]
- 25:53around and now we are going to stuff
- 25:55some more
- 25:57[Music]
- 26:14[Music]
- 26:32now we're going to move on to our next
- 26:34decrease round where we will decrease
- 26:36and single crochet two and we'll repeat
- 26:38that three
- 26:47[Music]
- 26:54times and for the next round you will
- 26:56single crochet in each Stitch s
- 27:07around and I'm going to stuff some more
- 27:31[Music]
- 27:48and for our final decrease round we will
- 27:50decrease and single crochet one and then
- 27:52we'll repeat that three times
- 28:01[Music]
- 28:03and for our final round we're going to
- 28:05single crochet
- 28:12[Music]
- 28:14six you're going to slip stitch chain
- 28:17one fast and off and you just need a
- 28:18length of yarn long enough to close up
- 28:21this bottom
- 28:25hole and finish stuffing as need
- 28:28[Music]
- 28:38needed now we're going to take our
- 28:41sewing needle and close up this hole I
- 28:44recommend plastic for the Chanel yarn
- 28:46and even for burnat yarn you're going to
- 28:48pick up all the front
- 28:50loops and sent it closed
- 29:08I like to create a little bit of
- 29:10knot and then weave in this end
- 29:28and I'll tuck this tail in with my
- 29:30scissors so I don't have to save any of
- 29:31the scrap
- 29:32yarn be careful when you do this though
- 29:35as not break your yarn cuz I have done
- 29:37that once before and it was traumatizing
- 29:40and there we have the body of the shark
- 29:42finished we will set this aside and
- 29:44we'll start on the belly piece next
- 29:46because that's the first thing that
- 29:47we're going to sew on so let's do that
- 29:49to start the belly piece you're going to
- 29:51want to leave a
- 29:54long so we're going to start with a slip
- 29:57knot just a basic slip knot and leave a
- 30:01long tail like I said because we're
- 30:03going to be sewing this
- 30:05on and you're going to chain two and in
- 30:09the first chain you're going to increase
- 30:11so you're going to skip that chain First
- 30:13Chain next your hook and increase in the
- 30:16second one and then you will chain one
- 30:19turn and you're going to single crochet
- 30:21in the next two
- 30:23stitches chain one turn and single
- 30:26crochet in the next two stitches
- 30:28now the chain does not count as a stitch
- 30:30so don't crochet into it and just
- 30:33basically just ignore it for the next
- 30:35round you're going to in you're going to
- 30:36chain one and you're going to increase
- 30:39in the next two
- 30:43stitches and then you're going to chain
- 30:45one and for the next two rounds you're
- 30:47going to single crochet in each
- 30:50Stitch keep saying rounds and I meant to
- 30:53say row but gets the point across I
- 30:55guess
- 31:02now you're going to chain one turn and
- 31:05for the next row you're going to
- 31:07increase single crochet two and then
- 31:10increase in that last
- 31:16Stitch here's what we have so far this
- 31:19is the tail portion and going all the
- 31:21way up we're going to get to the Head
- 31:22part we're going to chain one and turn
- 31:25and for the next two rows you're just
- 31:26going to single crochet in the next six
- 31:42[Music]
- 31:52stitches for the next row we are going
- 31:55to increase single crochet four and then
- 31:57and
- 32:10increase chain one and turn and for the
- 32:12next two rows we're going to single
- 32:15crochet in each Stitch
- 32:40for the next round you're going to
- 32:43increase single crochet six and then you
- 32:46will increase again
- 33:04chain one and turn and now you will
- 33:06single crochet in each stitch for the
- 33:08next three
- 33:26rounds for
- 34:00[Music]
- 34:07for the next round you're going to
- 34:08increase single crochet 8 and then
- 34:11increase again
- 34:34you're going to chain one turn and for
- 34:36the next five rounds we are going to do
- 34:38single crochet in each Stitch
- 34:46[Music]
- 35:01[Music]
- 35:07[Music]
- 35:22[Music]
- 35:39here's what it looks like so far we are
- 35:41almost finished we are going to begin
- 35:44our decreases so what we're going to do
- 35:45is
- 35:46decrease single crochet8 and then
- 35:49decrease once again
- 36:01going to chain one turn and single
- 36:03crochet in each
- 36:08[Music]
- 36:17Stitch now we're going to chain one turn
- 36:20and we're going to decrease single
- 36:22crochet six and then decrease again
- 36:37chain one turn and single crochet in
- 36:40each
- 36:49[Music]
- 36:50Stitch now we are going to chain one
- 36:53turn decrease single crochet four and
- 36:56then decrease
- 37:06now'll chain one turn and decrease
- 37:09single crochet two and decrease and that
- 37:12is our last
- 37:15Stitch we chain one and fasten off with
- 37:18a
- 37:19long tail for set
- 37:33and here's what the belly piece looks
- 37:35like when it's finished the longer end
- 37:38is the tail and then up here is where
- 37:41the head piece is we're done with the
- 37:42white so feel free to set it aside we're
- 37:44going to do the top fins first and we're
- 37:47going to use our magic ring or chain two
- 37:49method whichever method you prefer and
- 37:52in this magic ring or your chain two
- 37:54you're going to be single crocheting
- 37:56four
- 38:01and now you're going to cinch that up
- 38:03and close it and now you're going to
- 38:05increase single crochet increase single
- 38:18crochet after that round you're going to
- 38:20increase single crochet two and repeat
- 38:23that twice
- 38:25[Music]
- 38:31I'm going to secure my Tails real quick
- 38:33so I can turn this right side
- 38:37out same thing that we did with the body
- 38:40of the shark just some basic knots to
- 38:42keep it
- 38:46[Music]
- 38:50secure turn it right side out and now
- 38:53we're going to move on to the next round
- 38:55which is an increased single crochet
- 38:56three and you'll repeat that
- 39:10twice that's the end of that round and
- 39:12for the next one we will increase single
- 39:14crochet four twice
- 39:28for the next round we are going to
- 39:30increase and then single crochet five
- 39:33and we'll repeat that
- 39:51twice and for the last round we are
- 39:54going to decrease in the next Stitch
- 39:58we're going to single crochet
- 40:00four and then we will half double
- 40:02crochet four and single crochet
- 40:05four and then we will be finished with
- 40:07that
- 40:17round now you will slip stitch chain one
- 40:21fasten off leaving a length of yarn for
- 40:25sewing and since this is the top fin we
- 40:27are going to stuff it very lightly you
- 40:31can see the difference between unstuffed
- 40:33and stuffed so this one is unstuffed
- 40:35this one is stuffed and the reason I
- 40:38like to stuff it is because this one is
- 40:40all bendy and it'll stay to the side and
- 40:42stuff versus this one where it it bends
- 40:46together and all in all I just think it
- 40:48looks better but if you want you can
- 40:50leave it on stuff it's up to you just
- 40:52the lightest amount of stuffing in here
- 40:59just like so now we can set this guy
- 41:01aside for now and we're going to move on
- 41:04to the back fins for the back fins
- 41:07you're going to create your magic ringer
- 41:10chain two method and you're going to put
- 41:12four single crochets into whichever
- 41:14method you
- 41:18use for the next round we going to
- 41:21increase and then single crochet and
- 41:23we'll repeat that twice
- 41:31for the next round we will increase
- 41:33single crochet two and repeat that
- 41:44twice now I'm going to secure my Center
- 41:46tails
- 42:08for the next round we are going to
- 42:09increase single crochet three and we'll
- 42:12repeat that two
- 42:21times for the next round we're going to
- 42:24increase in single crochet four and then
- 42:26we'll do that two
- 42:41times and for our final round we are
- 42:44going to single crochet five then we
- 42:47will decrease twice and then we will
- 42:49single crochet three
- 43:05you're going to slip stitch chain one
- 43:07fasten
- 43:11off leaving a length of yarn for
- 43:15sewing and now you're going to make two
- 43:17of these I'll have the time stamp on the
- 43:19screen for how you can replay it and now
- 43:22we're going to move on to the side fins
- 43:25for the front fins we are going to to
- 43:27begin with our magic ring or our chain 2
- 43:29method whichever one is your preferred
- 43:32method and in that magic ring or your
- 43:35chain two you will single crochet
- 43:45four for the next round we will increase
- 43:48in single crochet and we'll repeat that
- 43:50twice
- 44:02for the next round we are going to
- 44:04increase single crochet two and we'll
- 44:06repeat that
- 44:14twice now I'm going to secure my Center
- 44:16ends
- 44:24[Music]
- 44:34for the next round we're going to
- 44:35increase single crochet three and we'll
- 44:37repeat that
- 44:42[Music]
- 44:49twice and for the next round we are
- 44:51going to increase single crochet four
- 44:54and we'll repeat that twice
- 45:09and now we are going to single crochet
- 45:12across the fin to close it so fold it in
- 45:14half and working through both sides
- 45:16single crochet six
- 45:24[Music]
- 45:28now you will chain one fasten off and
- 45:30leave a length of yarn for sewing again
- 45:33I'll have the time stamp on the screen
- 45:34for you to replay the video and create a
- 45:38second one of these cuz you need two of
- 45:39them and once you have your two front
- 45:42fins your two back fins and then your
- 45:46Top Fin we can move on to the sewing I
- 45:50am going to adjust the camera for that
- 45:52since this will take up a little bit
- 45:53more space and then we'll get right into
- 45:55it to begin sewing we're going to start
- 45:57with the belly and you'll need the head
- 45:59of course and what you want to do is
- 46:02find your your increase the one that's
- 46:05in the middle the one we talked about
- 46:06earlier and that's where we'll be sewing
- 46:08the belly on so for me this is this side
- 46:11right here and we're going to start at
- 46:13the tip of the nose using the end on the
- 46:16top part of your belly you're going to
- 46:19thread your
- 46:22needle you want to sew this on between
- 46:27the first increase round and the second
- 46:29increase
- 46:32round so right
- 46:39here and pull it all the way through and
- 46:41now we're just going to
- 46:43sew along the top here and you want to
- 46:46try and keep it centered feel free to
- 46:47pin this in place as well if you prefer
- 46:50to do it that way
- 47:01[Music]
- 47:04and then you want to sew the side of
- 47:08this flap just under the
- 47:11eye you want to look right about there
- 47:14and then just go straight across down to
- 47:16the tip of the tail so I'll just be
- 47:18taking each round into each round of the
- 47:20body so each round of the belly
- 47:30and you're just going to stitch all the
- 47:31way across
- 47:59[Music]
- 48:11once you get to past the eye you want to
- 48:13start slowly stitching down since this
- 48:17shrinks you don't want to go straight
- 48:18across you want to start going down
- 48:48[Music]
- 49:15when you get to the tip of the tail we
- 49:17are going to switch the ends that we are
- 49:19sewing with and use the other one that
- 49:22we left
- 49:23behind at this point your other end
- 49:26might be quite small
- 49:30so and we're just going to stitch along
- 49:32the other side now this is where it gets
- 49:35a little tricky you want to make sure
- 49:38that when you sew you're stretching the
- 49:40fabric all the way across to touch the
- 49:42other eye and you can pin this in place
- 49:45if you need to I will just be stitching
- 49:47it and making sure that it is going this
- 49:50way as you can see there's a lot of
- 49:52space that we're going to have to pull
- 49:53it over and you want to be careful not
- 49:55to snap your yarn while pulling the
- 49:59fabric over
- 51:28here's about what it should look like
- 51:30when you are finished if you want to
- 51:32double sew it on go ahead but I usually
- 51:35just leave it once now we're going to
- 51:37tuck in these Tails real quick so I like
- 51:40to create a little Arch tuck the needle
- 51:42under it to create a knot and
- 51:45then weave it right in
- 52:29[Music]
- 52:39The Next Step that I like to do is sew
- 52:42the gills on so you're just going to
- 52:44take some black yarn thread your
- 52:48needle and starting from basically
- 52:50anywhere in the body you want to bring
- 52:52the tail down and out one stitch down
- 52:57right underneath the corner of the eye
- 53:00and then right one stitch into the body
- 53:03you're going to want to put your needle
- 53:05and you want to come out two stitches
- 53:07below the
- 53:09belly pull that nice and tight but not
- 53:12too tight and then we'll take this tail
- 53:15and we'll go two stitches up and then
- 53:17out through the next Stitch of the belly
- 53:20just one Stitch
- 53:22Above and you want to pull this nice and
- 53:25tight
- 53:26and then same thing that we did with the
- 53:28first one just one Stitch Above and this
- 53:31one will actually go all the way across
- 53:33and
- 53:35start one stitch underneath the corner
- 53:38the other
- 53:40eye this doesn't have to be perfect so
- 53:43don't worry about it too much just
- 53:44enough to get the point across and
- 53:45you're
- 53:47good on the other side we're going to
- 53:49repeat the exact same thing we just did
- 53:51we're going to go through two of the
- 53:52stitches and then for the next one we'll
- 53:55go through four and then the final one
- 53:57will go through
- 54:03two and then when you're finished you're
- 54:05going to go right up to the top of the
- 54:06doll and tie your two ends
- 54:11together going to cut these nice and
- 54:13short I don't see the need to weave them
- 54:14in and then we'll tie them
- 54:18together and then we'll just tuck this
- 54:20right in where it is
- 54:30and there you
- 54:32are got Gill on one side and
- 54:36then gills on the other side you can set
- 54:39the black yarn aside and we're going to
- 54:41now so on the side
- 54:45fins thread your needle and you can pick
- 54:49either side to start with just make sure
- 54:50that the right side of the fabric is
- 54:53facing towards you and you want to start
- 54:56between the Stitch of the belly and the
- 54:58body and you want to go up and you want
- 55:00to be right next to the
- 55:04gills and then take the first Stitch go
- 55:07through and then go to the next Stitch
- 55:10over and you're going to leave a little
- 55:11space between the belly and the
- 55:15body pull it nice and tight and then
- 55:18just sew this all the way
- 55:25down make sure you pull nice and tight
- 55:27but not too tight that you snap your
- 55:33[Music]
- 55:36yarn and then for our last Stitch we're
- 55:38going to go back in again towards the
- 55:42belly and then pick up the
- 55:48corner go right back through that bottom
- 55:50Stitch and up the top and now I like to
- 55:53go back down and secure everything once
- 55:56again just cuz this is a part of the uh
- 55:59shark where people can pull on it and
- 56:02tug on it so you want nice and secure
- 56:11[Music]
- 56:24[Music]
- 56:31when you make it all the way back you're
- 56:32going to create an
- 56:34arch and then make a knot pull it tight
- 56:37don't pull it too tight and then you can
- 56:39weave this tail right into the
- 56:43body and then we'll repeat this on the
- 56:45other side but we'll be going the other
- 56:47way so we'll need to count the stitches
- 56:55[Music]
- 56:59tuck this right
- 57:05in for the other front fin you want the
- 57:10right side facing you so you have to
- 57:12start from the other way we know there
- 57:14are six stitches so we just count 1 2 3
- 57:17four five and six so we want to start
- 57:19right
- 57:21here and you want to count it after you
- 57:23thread your needle
- 57:25[Music]
- 57:281 2 3 four five and six and we're going
- 57:30to go right into that Stitch and up
- 57:32again just like we did on the other
- 57:36side and Stitch across
- 57:41[Music]
- 58:03that last Stitch we're going to curve in
- 58:05a little bit just like we did with the
- 58:07other
- 58:09side grab the corner go back through and
- 58:12up again and then I'll sew across just
- 58:15like we did with the other side I'll sew
- 58:17across one more time
- 58:42[Music]
- 58:51then create your knot and we're going to
- 58:53tuck this right into the body
- 59:00and wave it in
- 59:12[Music]
- 59:22[Music]
- 59:27now going to sew on the Top Fin
- 59:30next and I like to sew the Top Fin you
- 59:33want your half double crochets to be
- 59:35facing the front of the shark and then I
- 59:37like to crochet the fin or sew the fin
- 59:40on where it's in line with the side fins
- 59:43and then obviously centered between the
- 59:46eyes feel free to pin this in place as
- 59:52well and I will start down here you want
- 59:55to sew the front or you want to sew the
- 59:59Top Fin a little bit
- 1:00:00wider since we stuffed it a little bit
- 1:00:03you don't want it to be super
- 1:00:06thin and just as you Stitch make sure
- 1:00:08it's centered and everything
- 1:00:35once you come to the tip just turn and
- 1:00:38work along the other way leaving about a
- 1:00:40stitch or two between the original seam
- 1:00:43on the other
- 1:00:49side and if you wish you can stuff it a
- 1:00:52little bit more mine is pretty well
- 1:00:54stuffed don't over stuff it cuz you
- 1:00:56don't want it
- 1:00:57to um become round you want it to stay
- 1:01:00pretty
- 1:01:15flat I want to go through and sew over
- 1:01:18everything
- 1:01:20again and double secure it
- 1:01:58and there we are the Top Fin is attached
- 1:02:01now we're going to sew on the back fins
- 1:02:05and then we'll be finished so I like to
- 1:02:07start with the
- 1:02:10top and then sew the bottom one on
- 1:02:14after and when you sew you want to make
- 1:02:16sure that your 2D creases are towards
- 1:02:19the middle and the flatter side is
- 1:02:21towards the
- 1:02:24outside and this doesn't need to be
- 1:02:26anywhere specific just start sewing you
- 1:02:29can pin it in place and then start
- 1:02:30sewing as well just want to leave four
- 1:02:32or five
- 1:02:34stitches and sew it
- 1:02:46across and when you get to the tip just
- 1:02:48turn right
- 1:02:51around and work along the other way this
- 1:02:53one we're sewing on like the top thin
- 1:02:57but we're not going to be stuffing it so
- 1:03:00you don't need to sew it too
- 1:03:22wide then I'm going to double seam it
- 1:03:25and and go back around one more time
- 1:04:18and once you come back all the way
- 1:04:19around you're going to create a little
- 1:04:21knot and weave in this end just right
- 1:04:23into the body
- 1:04:54and now we're going to sew on the final
- 1:04:57finin that's going to be the
- 1:05:04underside thread your needle make sure
- 1:05:06the decreases are on the inside and the
- 1:05:09flat Edge is on the outside and we're
- 1:05:11just going to start
- 1:05:18sewing I like to on the second or third
- 1:05:20Stitch start sewing around the belly
- 1:05:23piece and kind of just tide the white in
- 1:05:26the tip of the tail
- 1:05:29[Music]
- 1:05:48[Applause]
- 1:06:02[Music]
- 1:06:06and then for this one you do want to go
- 1:06:08back
- 1:06:09around and what we're going to do is
- 1:06:11we're going
- 1:06:13to pull these together a little bit and
- 1:06:16Stitch them
- 1:06:23together just go up through into the
- 1:06:26other Fin and
- 1:06:28just sew the two bottom points
- 1:06:32together this just makes it a little bit
- 1:06:37cleaner just like so and do it as much
- 1:06:40as you like until you get the shape that
- 1:06:43you want I'm going to go back to the
- 1:06:45other side and finish
- 1:06:47stitching everything nice and secure and
- 1:06:50then we
- 1:06:51will secure this tail with a knot and
- 1:06:53tuck it into the body so
- 1:07:12[Music]
- 1:07:18[Music]
- 1:07:30[Music]
- 1:07:38and here is our shark complete make sure
- 1:07:40you give this guy a good shake to knock
- 1:07:44off any extra fluffies or at least
- 1:07:46reveal them so you can brush them
- 1:07:48away when you're sewing you definitely
- 1:07:50want to make sure you go through and
- 1:07:52pick any extra stuffing that got pulled
- 1:07:54out or any
- 1:07:56Chanel fluffies that happen to stick to
- 1:07:59the
- 1:08:04plushy and there you are our shark is
- 1:08:06complete I hope you enjoyed this
- 1:08:07tutorial and if you have any questions
- 1:08:10definitely let me know in the comments
- 1:08:12and I will hopefully see you later bye
