- 0:09quite a bit. He was at an Antifa rally
- 0:11over the weekend minding his own
- 0:12business covering the news. He's a
- 0:14journalist. When he was beaten almost to
- 0:16death by Antifa, he wound up in the
- 0:18hospital. He just got out and joins us
- 0:20now on this program. We're happy to see
- 0:21him. Andy, I'm glad you're capable of
- 0:24doing this interview. Tell us what
- 0:25happened.
- 0:29On Saturday documenting this protest
- 0:32that was organized by Antifa and its
- 0:34allies,
- 0:35we were
- 0:38a literal stone's throw away from
- 0:41Portland's most important institutions
- 0:42of the rule of law, the courthouses,
- 0:45um the sheriff's office, the central
- 0:47police precinct,
- 0:49while hearing people chant
- 0:52"No hate, no fear."
- 0:54I'm suddenly bashed on the back of my
- 0:56head
- 0:58from behind.
- 1:00And from there, I've I'm a very passive
- 1:02person. I've never been in a fight. It
- 1:04took me a few seconds to realize that I
- 1:06was actually even hit in my head.
- 1:09When I realized what was happening, it
- 1:11was too late. Um
- 1:14a mob of people
- 1:16all dressed in black and wearing masks
- 1:18started
- 1:20beating me with their fists.
- 1:22And some of them used objects to hit me.
- 1:25I don't know how many people were
- 1:27involved. It seemed like 5, 10, 15, or
- 1:3020. It could have been that many.
- 1:33Um they beat me so much and that I lost
- 1:36control of my GoPro camera that I was
- 1:39holding, which was then stolen from me.
- 1:42And when I thought it was over, I was
- 1:44wrong.
- 1:45Um I put my arms up to try to shield my
- 1:48face as well as to signal to them that I
- 1:50was
- 1:51surrendering and that I
- 1:54uh wasn't there to fight. But that
- 1:57really signaled to them to be more
- 1:58aggressive. So then they started dumping
- 2:02what I believe were milkshakes
- 2:06and eggs, throwing it at my face, which
- 2:08blinded me.
- 2:10So I couldn't see and I was kicked some
- 2:13more, punched some more and
- 2:16all this time I kept thinking
- 2:18where are the police? I could still see
- 2:20the Multnomah County Justice Center
- 2:23in front of me,
- 2:24but no police ever arrived.
- 2:27I eventually stumbled away
- 2:29bleeding
- 2:30across the park and I lost my balance,
- 2:35so I sat down on the ground in front of
- 2:36the courthouse.
- 2:38And from there a medics SWAT team
- 2:41informed me that in order to get an
- 2:43ambulance to be taken to a hospital, I
- 2:46would have to walk to the police
- 2:48precinct. In other words, walk back in
- 2:50the direction of the demonstrators who
- 2:52just attacked me.
- 2:54Later that night after
- 2:56arriving in the emergency room, I had a
- 2:58CT scan, which confirmed that there that
- 3:02I
- 3:03was diagnosed with
- 3:05um
- 3:07a brain hemorrhage.
- 3:12From which you're suffering neurological
- 3:13damage. Just to remind our viewers, this
- 3:15is the group that CNN's primetime
- 3:16anchors have defended and promoted.
- 3:19I I saw that Andrew Yang, who's running
- 3:21for president as a Democrat, bless him,
- 3:23uh attacked Andy Ngo for for this. Have
- 3:24you received any other support very
- 3:26quickly from any other Democratic office
- 3:28holders in Portland or nationally?
- 3:32Not that I know of.
- 3:35Not that I know of. What?
- 3:37That tells you everything. And you know,
- 3:38we're we're happy that you're at least
- 3:40capable of joining us tonight. That's a
- 3:42shocking story and an enraging story.
- 3:45Um
- 3:47we wish you the the best on your
- 3:48recovery. We hope you come back. Thank
- 3:50you.
- 3:51Thank you.
