- 0:02have been raised in intelligence and we
- 0:05can provide you on a classified basis
- 0:08the some of the material you're talking
- 0:09about I'd be happy to arrange that I
- 0:11fully understand that but I tend to be
- 0:13like Senator Specter sometimes I think
- 0:16there are too many people in this system
- 0:18putting too many burdens that go beyond
- 0:21what the law requires and therefore
- 0:23makes it um difficult for Public Safety
- 0:26to be protected thank you thank you I
- 0:29want to thank
- 0:31all Senators both Republicans and
- 0:33Democrats who
- 0:35have this hearing from the time we
- 0:37started this morning has been about an
- 0:38eight hour
- 0:39hearing Miss Raleigh probably thinks
- 0:42it's even longer because she was
- 0:43watching the early hearing before
- 0:46uh
- 0:48Asian Riley I have a feeling that it'd
- 0:52much rather be
- 0:53in your office doing the things that you
- 0:55from everything we've been told do very
- 0:57very well
- 0:59but I appreciate you being here I
- 1:01appreciate director Mueller
- 1:03and Inspector General fine the amount of
- 1:07time they took
- 1:08that we have people like Miss
- 1:10Collingwood who's sat through all this
- 1:12patiently
- 1:13uh
- 1:15these hearings as both her to hatch and
- 1:18I made very clear not gacha earrings
- 1:21these are hearings we want to help
- 1:24us have a terrorist attack
- 1:26as I said earlier terrorists don't ask
- 1:29whether you're Republicans are Democrats
- 1:31or where you're from or anything else
- 1:33they just strike in Americans
- 1:35and all of us have a duty to protect
- 1:37Americans
- 1:38we also have a duty to protect those
- 1:40things that have saved our own liberty
- 1:42as I said earlier
- 1:43Attorneys General come and go Senators
- 1:46come and go directors come and go we all
- 1:48do
- 1:48Constitution stays constant and we can
- 1:51protect ourselves within that framework
- 1:53you're sworn to do that and you've
- 1:56worked a long career poding that that
- 1:59oath that I admire you for it
- 2:01so I thank all my colleagues this is one
- 2:04of many hearings we've had
- 2:07and we will stand gratefully in recess
- 2:20um
- 2:30all right
