  1. 0:00she's accusing me of rape of raping her
  2. 0:05the worst thing you can do the worst
  3. 0:07charge
  4. 0:09and and you know it's you know it's not
  5. 0:11true too you're a political operative
  6. 0:13also you're just your disgrace but she's
  7. 0:17accusing me and so are you of rape and
  8. 0:20it never took place and I will tell you
  9. 0:23I made that statement and I said well
  10. 0:24it's Politically Incorrect she's not my
  11. 0:27type and that's a hundred percent true
  12. 0:29she's not my type
  13. 0:31and then he went on to tell the lawyer
  14. 0:33that she isn't his type either that was
  15. 0:35during the depositions which were played
  16. 0:37in court even though Donald Trump did
  17. 0:40not present a defense in the case the
  18. 0:42evidence is now in closing arguments
  19. 0:44have wrapped up Manhattan jury will
  20. 0:46begin to deliberate tomorrow
  21. 0:48the case of Eugene Carroll says the
  22. 0:50former president raped her department
  23. 0:52store in the 1990s let's go inside the
  24. 0:55courtroom bring in Adam classfeld law
  25. 0:57and crimes managing editor all right
  26. 1:00Adam are we expecting the jury to get
  27. 1:02the case first thing tomorrow morning
  28. 1:04yes we are Dan first the judge of course
  29. 1:08is going to instruct the jury and then
  30. 1:10they'll consider the case for the first
  31. 1:11time and there are nine jurors and you
  32. 1:14were the one who had to confirm for me
  33. 1:17this has to be a unanimous jury even
  34. 1:19though that's not the case in all civil
  35. 1:21trials that's absolutely correct because
  36. 1:23it's a federal case happening under
  37. 1:25Federal jurisdiction the jury must be
  38. 1:27unanimous
  39. 1:29reading of the jury nine people in
  40. 1:35it seems that they've been attentive
  41. 1:36throughout the trial they've been
  42. 1:38listening to the evidence and they heard
  43. 1:40closing arguments today we have a panel
  44. 1:43of six men and three women that's a
  45. 1:46composition apparently a very diverse
  46. 1:48jury and they are going to they've
  47. 1:51obviously heard a lot of evidence from
  48. 1:53Eugene carrollside 11 Witnesses a lot of
  49. 1:56stuff to process and they have heard
  50. 1:58again and again from Eugene Carroll's
  51. 2:01attorneys that uh Trump did not present
  52. 2:04a defense case because they did not
  53. 2:06Adam thank uh let's stick around if you
  54. 2:09can because I want to bring back in
  55. 2:10Diana Florence a former prosecutor and
  56. 2:12Sarah Azari
  57. 2:14um so the
  58. 2:16um the requirement of being unanimous
  59. 2:18here
  60. 2:19that could lead to a hung jury right I
  61. 2:22mean that could create a situation where
  62. 2:24you have seven or eight who say yeah
  63. 2:26yeah and it's a Manhattan jury too which
  64. 2:28I think that that helps Eugene Carroll a
  65. 2:31lot right I think it does yeah I mean
  66. 2:33it's not the jury that Donald Trump
  67. 2:34wants no definitely not Manhattan juries
  68. 2:37are very sophisticated and they're also
  69. 2:39liberal yeah yeah I'm just saying like
  70. 2:41they're both right but like but but in
  71. 2:43terms of a jury that Donald Trump wants
  72. 2:46this is not the jury that he wants I
  73. 2:48don't think unless no no yeah okay I
  74. 2:51agree all right um let me play let me
  75. 2:53play uh another piece of sound uh this
  76. 2:55is from more of the deposition which is
  77. 2:57just fascinating uh fascinating stuff
  78. 3:00this was an interesting interchange
  79. 3:02where Trump's lawyer was trying to show
  80. 3:05sort of his hypocrisy and then made it
  81. 3:07kind of a political debate about mail-in
  82. 3:10ballots Etc uh this is number 12. let's
  83. 3:13listen
  84. 3:16this ridiculous situation that we're
  85. 3:19doing right it's a big fat hook she's a
  86. 3:21liar and she's a sick person in my
  87. 3:23opinion really sick something wrong with
  88. 3:26her okay
  89. 3:27um in addition
  90. 3:29to the Russia Russia Russia hoax the
  91. 3:32Ukraine Ukraine Ukraine hoax
  92. 3:34the Mueller the Mueller or Mueller hoax
  93. 3:37the line to fisa hoax the line to
  94. 3:39Congress
  95. 3:41hoax and the spying on your campaign
  96. 3:43hoax
  97. 3:45isn't it true that you also referred
  98. 3:47to the use of mail-in ballots
  99. 3:50as a hoax yeah I do sure I do
  100. 3:54I need to be very dishonest mail-in
  101. 3:57ballots very dishonest
  102. 3:59and isn't it true that you yourself have
  103. 4:00voted by mail I do I do sometimes I do
  104. 4:03but I don't know what happens to it once
  105. 4:05uh once you give it I have no idea
  106. 4:09didn't seem to me like this was a
  107. 4:10particularly effective line of
  108. 4:12questioning I mean she's trying to show
  109. 4:13that he's a hypocrite right right but
  110. 4:17but I actually think it helps the
  111. 4:19defense and the defense didn't really
  112. 4:20argue it is what I would argue is
  113. 4:23um this is just opinion you know when he
  114. 4:25calls all these different things hoaxes
  115. 4:27it's just the guy doesn't like to be
  116. 4:29investigated for anything and he's just
  117. 4:31calling it a hoax it's not that he's
  118. 4:33stating a fact and saying it's in fact a
  119. 4:35hoax calling her a liar which then would
  120. 4:38be uh how much is politics going to come
  121. 4:40into into the deliberation process I
  122. 4:42mean the defense has made this very much
  123. 4:44about politics saying that Lisa bernbach
  124. 4:46was one of the uh corroborating
  125. 4:48Witnesses uh was you know a Democrat
  126. 4:51that Eugene Carroll is a Democrat how
  127. 4:54much you think politics is going to come
  128. 4:55into the deliberative process well I
  129. 4:56think that they were voisiered very
  130. 4:58clearly about politics and they're
  131. 5:01supposed to put their politics aside and
  132. 5:04their biases they're supposed to base
  133. 5:06their verdict on the evidence so I don't
  134. 5:09think that it's going to be you know
  135. 5:11Republicans on this side Democrats on
  136. 5:13the other such that there are in
  137. 5:14Manhattan or even I think that this jury
  138. 5:17I do have faith in the jury system
  139. 5:19they're going to look at the evidence
  140. 5:21and they are going to hold them to their
  141. 5:24burden unfortunately for Mr Trump I
  142. 5:26think that they've met it thank you for
