  1. 0:00So, Claude just changed [music] the way
  2. 0:01we prompt our models forever. They
  3. 0:03literally rewrote the rules of how you
  4. 0:05should be prompting your agents. And
  5. 0:06while other people are trying to
  6. 0:07memorize it and trying all these
  7. 0:09different gimmicks and trying to figure
  8. 0:11it all out, we're actually going to
  9. 0:12create a skill using Claude's own
  10. 0:14documents from the Anthropic site and
  11. 0:16we're going to create our own skill
  12. 0:18that's going to be our prompt helper
  13. 0:19that's going to help us write prompts
  14. 0:21the right way to maximize our actual
  15. 0:23models and more importantly [music] save
  16. 0:25on tokens. So, come along and build
  17. 0:26along with us.
  18. 0:29All right. So, literally I am not
  19. 0:30kidding. Claude released some documents
  20. 0:32of how we should be prompting Opus 5 and
  21. 0:35Fable 5. And Boris, the guy that
  22. 0:36actually created Claude Code, actually
  23. 0:38told us to erase our Claude MD files and
  24. 0:40go back and rewrite them all. So, what
  25. 0:43we're going to do today because I don't
  26. 0:44want to memorize all these rules and
  27. 0:45honestly I'm a little lazy. I actually
  28. 0:47want to give Claude the actual documents
  29. 0:49that Anthropic wrote, feed it back into
  30. 0:52itself and more importantly create a
  31. 0:53prompt helper that's going to take all
  32. 0:55my ideas and my conversations whenever
  33. 0:57I'm trying to build something and help
  34. 0:59me write the perfect prompt using the
  35. 1:01new model capabilities. All right. So,
  36. 1:02let's jump right in. The first thing
  37. 1:04that we're going to do is we're going to
  38. 1:05go to the documentation that has all the
  39. 1:07new Claude prompts and how we should be
  40. 1:09prompting. Now, I'll put the link on the
  41. 1:10bottom of the description for you guys
  42. 1:12to use the same references. So, if you
  43. 1:14look at my screen, we're in
  44. 1:15platform.claude.com
  45. 1:17and /docs. When you get in here, there
  46. 1:20is a whole prompt engineering guide and
  47. 1:22look, there is prompting best practices,
  48. 1:25prompting Claude 5, prompting Claude
  49. 1:27Opus 5, prompting Claude 4.8 and
  50. 1:30prompting Claude Sonnet. We are going to
  51. 1:32feed all these documents into our new
  52. 1:34skill in Co-work and we're going to help
  53. 1:36it create our skill based on again these
  54. 1:39documents so it comes directly from
  55. 1:41Claude itself. So, what I'm going to do
  56. 1:43is I'm going to come over here and I'm
  57. 1:45going to go over to customize. I'm going
  58. 1:47to make sure I'm in Co-work. I'm going
  59. 1:49to go over to customize and in customize
  60. 1:51I'm going to go to add and then I'm
  61. 1:53going to do create with Claude which is
  62. 1:55a skill that you would see that I have
  63. 1:57selected. So, I'm going to come over
  64. 1:58here, creative Claude, and I'm going to
  65. 2:00say, "Claude released guidelines on best
  66. 2:03practices on how to prompt, and also how
  67. 2:06to prompt each individual model." I'm
  68. 2:08going to give you all the links to these
  69. 2:11documents, and what I want to do is
  70. 2:12create a skill that's going to help me
  71. 2:15basically be a better prompt writer. But
  72. 2:17better yet, it's going to write the
  73. 2:18prompts for me. So, I'll have an idea,
  74. 2:21I'll ask the skill to be invoked, and
  75. 2:23then what it will do is write a better
  76. 2:25prompt so I can have the best output
  77. 2:28from my interactions with Claude. All
  78. 2:30right? And then, what I'm going to do is
  79. 2:31I'm going to come over here, and I'm
  80. 2:33literally going to do these four docs.
  81. 2:35I'm going to do the overview, I'm going
  82. 2:36to give it the links, all right? A
  83. 2:38little space. I'm going to do the
  84. 2:40prompting best practices, I'm going to
  85. 2:42do the Fable 5 and Beyond. So, I'm just
  86. 2:45going to speed right through this, and
  87. 2:47the goal is to give it as much
  88. 2:48information as it needs to write the
  89. 2:50best possible skill. Now, I don't know
  90. 2:52if you guys have
  91. 2:53we've done like this before, but
  92. 2:55whenever I'm creating a skill, I like to
  93. 2:57use the documents cuz when you use the
  94. 2:59documents, no better source than the
  95. 3:01actual source of the creation, right?
  96. 3:03So, we're going to Anthropic's own area
  97. 3:06in order to get the information, and
  98. 3:08then going from there. All right? And
  99. 3:09I'm going to paste this all in, and
  100. 3:11again, I'm going to copy this for you
  101. 3:12guys, and I'm going to also give it to
  102. 3:15you guys like later on so you'll have it
  103. 3:16in the description so you can copy this
  104. 3:18exact prompt. So, you can go ahead and
  105. 3:20build your skill, and I'm going to use
  106. 3:22Fable 5 for this cuz I want the best
  107. 3:24skill output that I can have. And if I
  108. 3:26go ahead and hit go, it will then go
  109. 3:28ahead and start working, identifying,
  110. 3:31and helping build a skill. So, we're
  111. 3:32going to give this thing a few minutes
  112. 3:34to cook on its own. All right, now it's
  113. 3:35asking me some clarifying questions,
  114. 3:36which it should, and it's saying,
  115. 3:37"Claude chat and co-work." What meaning
  116. 3:39when we're going to use this? And I'm
  117. 3:41actually going to say all of the above.
  118. 3:42Claude co- To answer the question of
  119. 3:44where we're going to be using this, this
  120. 3:45is going to be all the above. We're
  121. 3:46going to be using in chat, co-work, and
  122. 3:48also in code, and in APIs and in other
  123. 3:51places. So, we're going to be able to
  124. 3:52use this prompt anytime we're going to
  125. 3:54be engaging with Claude in any kind of
  126. 3:56way, period.
  127. 3:58So, after a very long time, it gave us
  128. 4:00after 21 minutes, this thing ran an
  129. 4:02incredible evaluation, and it did a
  130. 4:04whole bunch of tests, and it was just a
  131. 4:06big document of how to basically, you
  132. 4:08know, go in and prompt it a little bit
  133. 4:11differently, right? So, I'm going to
  134. 4:12come in here, and it looks like it did
  135. 4:13the whole entire thing. I'm going to
  136. 4:14say, "Great." And because I'm in Coda,
  137. 4:16it should automatically create the
  138. 4:18skill. Great. Can we finalize the skill
  139. 4:23and upload it? All right? Because it has
  140. 4:25the ability to do that because I did use
  141. 4:26the skill creator inside of here. And if
  142. 4:28it doesn't for whatever reason, I can
  143. 4:30always download it and upload it right
  144. 4:32into the skill area. But, let's see if
  145. 4:33it can do it on its own. All right? So,
  146. 4:35look, it's prompted the whole entire
  147. 4:37thing. I have the skill, and what I'm
  148. 4:39also going to do is once I have the
  149. 4:41skill saved, by the way, it's all here.
  150. 4:43And again, it has a bunch of references
  151. 4:45in MD files, and then it has the actual
  152. 4:47skill, and it's called the prompt
  153. 4:49architect. And what I'm going to do is
  154. 4:50I'm just going to hit update skill,
  155. 4:52update and replace. And then what I'm
  156. 4:54also going to do is hit the three little
  157. 4:56dots and you can always download. And
  158. 4:57I'm going to actually say, well, you can
  159. 4:59do one or two things. I'm going to say,
  160. 5:01"Can you make this a downloadable
  161. 5:05file so I can share with Claude code?"
  162. 5:10Cuz believe it or not, sometimes if you
  163. 5:11have a local version of Claude code, it
  164. 5:13sometimes won't go there. So, that's
  165. 5:14what I'm going to do right here. I'm
  166. 5:16going to go [snorts] ahead and hit enter
  167. 5:17so then I can get that file completely
  168. 5:19downloaded so then I can then install
  169. 5:20into my Claude code by literally just
  170. 5:22giving Claude code the skill. All right?
  171. 5:24So, we're going to give that a few
  172. 5:25minutes to do that. Great. And as you
  173. 5:27can see, it gave me a downloadable file
  174. 5:29that I can download, and then all I
  175. 5:30would do is I would download that folder
  176. 5:32just like I did now, and then I would go
  177. 5:34to Claude code, come in here, go to any
  178. 5:37of my agents that I already have. I
  179. 5:38already have my agent folder, which is
  180. 5:40my agent team. I would hit select, and
  181. 5:43then I would just come in here and say,
  182. 5:44"Hey, I just developed this new skill.
  183. 5:46Can you please import it, right? Now,
  184. 5:48with that all being said, let's create a
  185. 5:50new chat, okay? And let's go ahead and
  186. 5:53use the new prompt architect to help me
  187. 5:55write the perfect prompt. And the
  188. 5:57example that we're going to do is we're
  189. 5:58just going to build a basic app that's
  190. 6:00going to track steps. Using the new
  191. 6:02prompt architect skill, I want you to
  192. 6:04help me write a prompt that I'm going to
  193. 6:06be using with Opus 5 at whatever effort
  194. 6:09you tell me I should use it with, and
  195. 6:11where I'm going to develop or create an
  196. 6:14app for monitoring steps. I want it to
  197. 6:17be like a very cool and new app,
  198. 6:19[snorts]
  199. 6:20something that we haven't done it
  200. 6:21because what I want to do is when
  201. 6:22somebody gets a certain amount of steps,
  202. 6:25they're going to be basically going
  203. 6:26through a dungeon game, and we're going
  204. 6:28to make it fantasy-like where they get
  205. 6:30awards or prizes once they complete a
  206. 6:32certain steps or they get through a
  207. 6:34certain threshold. You know, I'll let
  208. 6:36you help me come up with that in the
  209. 6:38prompt. So, help me build a full
  210. 6:40complete prompt that I can leverage in
  211. 6:42order to get this project going. And
  212. 6:44then, what I'm going to do is I'm going
  213. 6:45to change this to Opus, and we're going
  214. 6:48to leave it at the effort highest fine.
  215. 6:50So, that's the default, so let's just go
  216. 6:52ahead, and we're going to leverage it.
  217. 6:53And we're going to see what it comes up
  218. 6:54with. All right, check this thing out.
  219. 6:57So, it physically explained the way I
  220. 6:59should be prompting and why the prompt
  221. 7:01is built this way. Phase gates of the
  222. 7:03state of demo. Each Opus 5 follows
  223. 7:05instructions literally. Stop and wait
  224. 7:07and filming between phases, etc. Visual
  225. 7:09directions specified in hexes and name
  226. 7:11typefaces. No install commands written
  227. 7:13into the brief. It instructed to verify
  228. 7:16package names and features and
  229. 7:17everything else. Level up, here it is. I
  230. 7:19wrote two distinct reports to send into
  231. 7:21the register. All right, and this is the
  232. 7:24actual prompt itself. Look at this
  233. 7:26thing, which is significantly large.
  234. 7:29Start with phase zero, and it has here
  235. 7:31placeholders, app name, and where it has
  236. 7:33it. We're just going to go ahead and
  237. 7:35blindly grab this, create a new
  238. 7:37conversation, and we're going to let
  239. 7:39this thing go, man. Now, remember, Opus
  240. 7:41has a 1 million context window. That's
  241. 7:43why that prompt seems [snorts] kind of
  242. 7:45big, but again, it's going to be based
  243. 7:48off what we just read from Claude
  244. 7:50itself. Now, we can go back and
  245. 7:52challenge it to say, "Hey, that seemed
  246. 7:53kind of long." or whatever the case is,
  247. 7:55but we're going to go back and figure it
  248. 7:58out and see what kind of results it does
  249. 8:00right off the base. All right, so here
  250. 8:02we go. Look at all this. It's got like a
  251. 8:04little flame going on here. It's got the
  252. 8:06wager, the deep, the 16 rooms, different
  253. 8:10ways of people walking, and it's got
  254. 8:11like a whole storyline that already
  255. 8:13wrote. I mean, honestly, this is pretty
  256. 8:15good. The graphics are amazing. This is
  257. 8:17pretty freaking cool. And it's got
  258. 8:20everything going on here, the different
  259. 8:22connections and everything else.
  260. 8:23Honestly, this might be a really cool
  261. 8:24app to build. So, all of that being
  262. 8:27said, welcome to the new way of
  263. 8:28prompting. Hopefully, this guide will
  264. 8:30give you that prompt accelerated that
  265. 8:32you're going to need. And again, the
  266. 8:33prompt architect like we just built it.
  267. 8:35And hopefully, this will save you some
  268. 8:36tokens and get you some quality results
  269. 8:38just like this. And we'll see you in the
  270. 8:40next one.
