  1. 0:02The best place to hand off repetitive
  2. 0:04work is the pull request. There are two
  3. 0:06ways to get that. The managed one is
  4. 0:08code review, an Anthropic hosted service
  5. 0:10that reviews PRs through the Claude
  6. 0:11GitHub app, and post findings as inline
  7. 0:13comments with nothing for you to build
  8. 0:15or host. The do-it-yourself one is the
  9. 0:18Claude code GitHub action for when the
  10. 0:19job goes beyond review and into [music]
  11. 0:21custom CI.
  12. 0:24An organization admin turns on from the
  13. 0:26Claude code admin settings, then
  14. 0:28installs the Claude GitHub app, and
  15. 0:30picks which repos it watches and when it
  16. 0:32runs. Once when a PR opens, on every
  17. 0:34push, or only when someone comments at
  18. 0:36Claude review. And from there, it runs
  19. 0:39on Anthropic's infrastructure. A set of
  20. 0:41review agents analyzes the diff against
  21. 0:43the full code base and post findings as
  22. 0:45inline comments on the specific lines,
  23. 0:47tagged by severity with a summary table
  24. 0:49in the check run. It deduplicates and
  25. 0:51ranks, so you read a handful of real
  26. 0:53findings instead of a wall of nits. It
  27. 0:55never approves or blocks the PR. The
  28. 0:57judgment call stays with a human. Code
  29. 0:59review is a research preview, currently
  30. 1:01for team and enterprise plans, so expect
  31. 1:03the behavior to keep on moving. And
  32. 1:05there's no managed auto fix. The service
  33. 1:07posts findings only. Applying them is a
  34. 1:09local move from your own terminal, where
  35. 1:11the {slash} code review command reviews
  36. 1:12a diff, and its {dash} {dash} fix flag
  37. 1:14applies the findings to your working
  38. 1:16tree.
  39. 1:18The action covers the jobs beyond
  40. 1:20review, implementing changes from a
  41. 1:21comment, schedule reports, anything
  42. 1:23you'd write a workflow for. It runs the
  43. 1:25agent on PR comments, scheduled jobs,
  44. 1:27and any GitHub event. So, from inside
  45. 1:29Claude code, you can run the {slash}
  46. 1:31installed GitHub app command. And you
  47. 1:33need repo admin to do this. The {slash}
  48. 1:35command walks you through installing the
  49. 1:37GitHub app and setting the Anthropic API
  50. 1:39key secret on the repo. The action
  51. 1:40itself is
  52. 1:41anthropic/claude-code-action@v1.
  53. 1:45And the inputs you'll use is the
  54. 1:46Anthropic API key, which is required,
  55. 1:49the GitHub token, which defaults to
  56. 1:50secrets.githubtoken,
  57. 1:52the trigger phrase, which is what the
  58. 1:53action listens for in comments, which
  59. 1:56just defaults to at Claude. If you use
  60. 1:58bedrock or vertex, you can switch to
  61. 2:00those providers. The prompt, which is
  62. 2:01the instruction for the run, and then
  63. 2:03the Claude arguments, which is a string
  64. 2:04of CLI arguments passed through to
  65. 2:07Claude code. So, if you drop this into
  66. 2:09github/workflows/claud.yaml,
  67. 2:11it listens for @Claude on PR comments
  68. 2:13and issue comments. So, someone writes
  69. 2:15@Claude, "Implement the spec in the
  70. 2:17linked linear issue." on a pull request,
  71. 2:19and the action picks it up. Claude
  72. 2:21pushes commits and post comments with
  73. 2:23what it did.
  74. 2:25This one's the daily roll up. Cron fires
  75. 2:27at 9:00 UTC. The action runs. Claude
  76. 2:29posts the results. The workflow dispatch
  77. 2:31trigger also lets you run it manually
  78. 2:33from the actions tab.
  79. 2:35So, the Claude args line is where all
  80. 2:36this fine-tuning happens. I set the max
  81. 2:39turns to five. This just puts a hard cap
  82. 2:41on the agent loop. Permission mode I put
  83. 2:43don't ask. This is the unattended mode.
  84. 2:45Allow tools is exactly what this job
  85. 2:47needs. So, read only for a report.
  86. 2:53For PR reviews, take the manage path.
  87. 2:55Enable code review. Let the GitHub app
  88. 2:57post [music] inline findings and apply
  89. 2:58fixes locally with code review fix.
  90. 3:02Reach for the action when the job is
  91. 3:03more than a review. Install GitHub app
  92. 3:05for setup. One workflow for @Claude
  93. 3:07mentions.
  94. 3:08One for cron. All the tuning in Claude
  95. 3:10args.
