0:03of Judaism and Christianity.
0:07Not to negate the order of Judaism. For
0:11the book of Galatians declares unto us
0:13that the law was the school master that
0:16eloquently and intellectually taught
0:18unto us the perfection of the grace of
0:21God.
0:23It is just God showing us
0:26better things.
0:29In fact, he wanted us to understand
0:32the supreme sacrifice has come. And when
0:37that supreme sacrifice has come, every
0:41other sacrifice loses its substance and
0:46its importance in comparison to what God
0:50has released in Jesus Christ.
0:53It makes us to understand that we are
0:56more than just ecclesia. the called out
0:59ones that we are sanctified, but we are
1:02more than sanctified.
1:05That we are consecrated, but we are more
1:07than just consecrated to sit down, but
1:11we are consecrated to become a living,
1:14moving, functioning body of priest.
1:20We have not come together to compare
1:24doctrine.
1:26We have not come together to sport our
1:30degrees or intellectual or theatrical
1:33capacities.
1:36We have come to minister unto God
1:42>> as a people who understand that we are a
1:45peculiar people,
1:47a royal priesthood
1:50and a holy nation.
1:53that we should shoe forth,
1:56push forth the praises of him who has
2:01called us out of darkness into this
2:05marvelous light.
2:08And isn't it a marvelous light
2:11>> just to be saved? It's an illuminating
2:14light. It's it's it's better than
2:16makeup. It highlights your face with
2:19something that comes upon you that makes
2:20your friend say, "What happened to you?
2:23You've come to walk in the light
2:28>> makes us to understand that even as a
2:31part of the priesthood, we cannot
2:33approach God aside from Christ.
2:37That whatever we bring to God, we must
2:40bring it in the name of the Lord Jesus.
2:44>> By him, therefore,
2:46let us offer the sacrifice of praise.
2:51Not sometimes, not just when you're in
2:53trouble, not just when you need a
2:55healing or a miracle, but continually
2:59with thanksgiving
3:02from the fruit of your lips.
3:06He says, "It's not enough for you to
3:08have good thoughts." He said, "I want
3:11you to offer up the sacrifice of praise
3:13from the fruit of your lips." I don't
3:17want you to just be a person who comes
3:19to church and says I'm just not that
3:22kind of person.
3:25He says irregardless and irrespective of
3:27your personality
3:30if it's going to register
3:32in heaven. It has to come forth out of
3:35your mouth, the fruit
3:39of your lips.
3:41You got to say something.
3:45You can't just sit back and smile and
3:47look distinguished.
3:50He said, "If it's going to bless me,
3:52you've got to open up your mouth."
3:59And that when you do that, the praise
4:02that comes forth out of your mouth
4:04blesses the heart of God.
4:09It's not a feeling. It's a fact. It's
4:12not a coercion. It's a command.
4:16He said, "I want you to offer it up."
4:18The Bible says that we shall not appear
4:21before him empty, but every one of us
4:25instead of coming emptyhanded must bring
4:29an offering.
4:32>> No matter how many people praise God
4:35around you and beside you, none of them
4:39can praise God for you.
4:41You must praise him for yourself.
4:49Look at your neighbor and say, "Open
4:51your mouth."
4:53>> Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. I know they didn't
4:55like it, but tell them anyway. Open
4:58your mouth. Your God is a speaking God.
5:02>> In the beginning was the word, and the
5:04word was with God, and the word was God.
5:06All things were made by him and without
5:08him was not anything made that was made
5:10in him was life and the life was the
5:12light of men and the light shined in
5:13darkness and the darkness comprehended
5:15in verse 14 and the word was made we
5:18beheld the wonder of his glory the only
5:20begotten of the father full of grace and
5:22truth your God is a speaking God and if
5:25you're going to bless him you got to
5:27bring him a speaking praise for the
5:29power of life and death is in your
5:32tongue [screaming] all of
5:41Hallelujah.
5:43>> He said everything he created, he did it
5:45by the power of the spoken word. He
5:47stepped out on absolutely nothing and
5:49said, "Let there be something and it
5:50became whatever he said because he's a
5:53speaking God." By faith, we understand
5:55that the worlds were framed by the word
5:57of God. So that the things that do
5:58appear were not made from things that do
6:00appear. God spoke it and it was so. And
6:04before he had anybody to praise him, he
6:07stepped back and looked at what it would
6:08created and said, "I'll praise myself."
6:10And it was good.
6:21And if you're going to bless God, you
6:24got to say something.
6:29I want to deal with with three tenses to
6:32the text.
6:35I want to raise three issues,
6:38three definitions to the text. I want to
6:42deal with the obstetrics and the
6:43pediatrics of praise. [snorts]
6:48I want to deal with this text reduced to
6:52its lowest common denominator
6:55expresses praising God when you don't
6:59feel like praising him.
7:02That's the obstetrics of praise.
7:06That's praising
7:08God. When you've come in tired and
7:12frustrated and weary and the conditions
7:15are not conducive to praise, but in
7:18spite of the circumstances and the
7:21climate and the conditions in which you
7:24stand because you understand that you
7:26are a trained priest and it has
7:29absolutely nothing to do with how your
7:32day has been. Even if you don't get
7:34goose pimples or chill bumps or rushes
7:37or twinges or jerks or frilly things in
7:40your belly, you still made up in your
7:42mind, I will praise him anyhow.
7:49Even if I'm feeling sorry for myself, I
7:52will open up my mouth and praise God.
7:55Even if I'm in a room surrounded by
7:57people who do not like me, I will give
8:00him the sacrifice of praise. Even if all
8:03of my bills are passed due and my budget
8:05hasn't been met and I don't know how I'm
8:08going to make it and I got my hair done
8:09and half my hair fell out, still I will
8:12bless the Lord at all times. His praise
8:14shall continually be in my mouth.
8:17[cheering]
8:25It is the sacrifice
8:29of praise.
8:32No chill bumps, no goose bubbles, no
8:34fancy music, no fancy drum beats, but
8:37I'm going to praise you anyway.
8:41>> Doesn't mean things are going well. In
8:43fact, all hell is breaking loose. But
8:45I'm going to stand there with tears
8:46running down my face and say, "You told
8:48me to praise him, so I'm going to break
8:50the
8:56obstetrics of a welltrained soldier. I
9:00have been disciplined. I have been
9:02taught to bless the Lord at all times.
9:07My promise hadn't come to birth yet, but
9:10I've got enough prenatal care to push
9:13the praise out. Even when I can't feel
9:16anything, even when it's still shut up
9:18in my womb, I'm still going to praise
9:21him anyway.
9:28It is the sacrifice
9:32of praise. And don't think I'm just
9:35praising him to show off because I don't
9:37even feel like praising him. But it's a
9:39sacrifice. I'm leaping up and down right
9:42beside you, but I'm not showing off my
9:44outfit. Really, I could be sitting down
9:46crying and feeling sorry [clears throat]
9:48for myself, but I'm dancing to let the
9:50devil know you ain't seen the enemy yet.
9:52Baby, it's the
9:59>> [cheering]
10:05>> But if if we stopped there, we would not
10:08have really validated the integrity of
10:11the text. We must move beyond the
10:14obstetrics on into the pediatrics praise
10:18when that that you have believed God for
10:21has been birthed.
10:24And then you begin to understand that
10:27praise is more than a faith move for the
10:31invisible. But praise is to God a
10:35tangible offering. It is given to us
10:40because Christ has removed the necessity
10:44for all other types of offerings. He has
10:47moved away from us the necessity of
10:50carting lambs or doves or pigeons or
10:55goats into the house of the Lord. We
10:58will bring no barley. We will bring no
11:01wheat. We will bring no hay or corn into
11:05the house of the Lord because Jesus has
11:07become the concretization of every Old
11:10Testament abstraction. He is the reality
11:13of all the shadows of the Old Testament.
11:16He is that that shall come and will come
11:19and must not per. He is the one that
11:22comes through the volume of the book to
11:24do the will of God. All of the shadows
11:27and pipes, all of the doors, the inner
11:29court, the outer court, the holies of
11:31holies, the blue, the crimson, the
11:33purple, the blue for his grace, the
11:36crimson for his redemption, the purple
11:38for his majesty at the door of the
11:40tabernacle are only teachers, teaching
11:42us of the authenticity of the grace of
11:44God. Every bowl and every trumpet, every
11:47vow, every incense, every bread, every
11:50wine, every sheep skin, every coat,
11:52every candlestick, all of it, every
11:54altar of incense forales of the glory of
11:57God. In fact, the heavens are telling
11:59the glory of God.
12:02And when he has come,
12:06then there were no further need for us
12:10to bring a shadow when the reality of
12:15the shadow has come. So if I am a
12:17priest, I must have an offering. But
12:20Jesus completed the [laughter] necessity
12:23of every animal blood sacrifice. I don't
12:26need to bring the blood of bullets and
12:28goats because Jesus entered in once and
12:31for all. He entered in by himself with
12:34himself and died for all of us. He so
12:37forever settled the sin issue that he
12:40was the first priest to get an
12:42opportunity to sit down. He so pleased
12:45[music] God that when his blood hit the
12:48mercy seat, the angel started singing,
12:51"It is finished and he sat down.
12:55>> [cheering]
12:59>> Somebody say it is finished.
13:02>> All the debt is paid. The bill is paid.
13:05The accounts are balanced. The books are
13:06regulated. He finished it by the blood.
13:21>> [cheering]
13:23>> Hallelujah. You know the devil gets mad
13:26anytime you mention the blood. His flesh
13:28crawls. His demons tremble. Hell gets a
13:32headache. Principalities get nervous.
13:34Satan breaks out in high. But I thank
13:36God for the blood.
13:44>> [applause]
13:48>> And so God says since there is no need
13:54for goats nor drink offering nor meal
13:58offering he says in lie of bringing an
14:01animal if you would bring a praise.
14:05>> All right.
14:07>> He says just bring me a good hallelujah.
14:12Just lay a thank you Jesus. I want to
14:16just put a glory to God down. I'll
14:19receive that as a sacrifice.
14:24Yes. A sacrifice.
14:27Tie your praise to the altar. And no
14:30matter what the day may bring, keep on
14:32praising him.
14:37[applause]
14:42Yes. The sacrifice
14:46of priest and he said, "I want you to
14:48minister it unto me as if it were a live
14:51offering. Don't bring me no dead."
14:55Hallelujah.
14:57Bring me a squirming, wrinkling live
15:00pulsating. Hallelujah. Step. [music]
15:07Hallelujah.
15:08Hallelujah. [groaning and screaming]
15:15Tell your neighbor my praise is alive.
15:20Glory to God. Glory to God. Hallelujah.
15:30I feel my preacher coming.
15:34The pediatrics
15:36of praise is exemplified in the
15:39tabernacle of David. While the
15:41Israelites worshiped on Mount Gibian
15:44before a veil where the glory of the
15:47Lord had departed, they offered up
15:49sacrifices and burnt offerings and meal
15:52offerings and drink offerings unto a God
15:55where the ark of the covenant had moved
15:57out of the tabernacle. Just dead
16:00religion. [laughter]
16:02David had gone down and gotten from the
16:06men that held the ark of the covenant,
16:08the glory of the Lord, and brought it
16:12back into the house of the Lord by way
16:16of Oed Edom's househ.
16:21He brought the ark of the covenant back
16:23up on Mount Zion, praising God. He
16:28brought the Ark of the Covenant into a
16:30one room pit. It wasn't fancy. It wasn't
16:34nice. It wasn't plush, but it was real.
16:38He found out that without a book or a
16:41dove or a pigeon or a wave offering that
16:44if you would praise God, his presence
16:47would rest in your house. He found out
16:50something that was so awesome, it became
16:53the key of David. He said, "I want you
16:57to understand something. I know you've
16:58been afraid to approach God without
17:00blood. I know that you've been taught
17:02that if you don't come by blood, you
17:04can't enter in." But he said, "I found
17:06another thing that you can bring to God
17:08that'll let you inhill another lamb,
17:12entering through his gates with
17:13thanksgiving and his courts with praise.
17:16Be thankful unto him and bless
17:27The truth of the matter is, if you
17:28praise him, he'll let you in. If you
17:31praise him, he'll come right where you
17:33are. I don't care if you're driving down
17:3571. If you praise him, he'll come sit
17:37down in the car with you. If you praise
17:40him,
17:46Hallelujah.
17:48That's why the devil is after your
17:50praise.
17:52Because if you pray that God will break
17:54in the jail househ
18:02anywhere, any place, anytime in the
18:03house,
18:05I will praise his name. I will bless the
18:08Lord.
18:10[cheering]
18:13[applause]
18:21Because
18:23>> the third tense is the bar mitzvah of
18:27praise.
18:30When praise
18:32goes through the rights of passage into
18:35the [clears throat] third dimension,
18:40that's really what I came to preach
18:43about.
18:46Come on.
18:50>> When praise has a barba
18:54passes
18:56through the veil
18:58into the holy of holies.
19:01The third aspect of the sacrifice of
19:06bre. Can I preach this tonight?
19:11It is it is it is exemplified. It is
19:15illustrated in the life of Abraham,
19:21the father of the faith,
19:25the man who believed God, and it was
19:28counted unto him as [clears throat]
19:30righteousness.
19:32The man who became the friend of God not
19:36merely on the basis of his morality or
19:39his character but he won God's heart
19:42with his conviction.
19:45>> He just believed God till God said I
19:48lack you.
19:53>> For the secret of the Lord is with them
19:56that fear him and he shall show them his
19:59covenant.
20:03God told Abraham, he says, "Abraham,
20:08I [clears throat] am going to bless you
20:11because you've been discriminating
20:14in your faith because you have refused
20:17the blessing of the heathens
20:20because you have not allowed the
20:22heathens to bless you. Unless they say
20:26they made you rich
20:29because you had the audacity to wait on
20:31me when it looked like I wasn't even
20:33coming. God says now I'm going to open
20:37up the windows of heaven and burn that
20:41say you don't even have room in through
20:44thy seed
20:46>> shall all nations of the earth be
20:49blessed. And God will talk to you about
20:51nations when you haven't had a baby.
20:56You know, God talk is crazy talk.
21:00>> All of this stuff you hear people saying
21:01God said. He didn't say all of that. If
21:04everything that you're hearing is making
21:06sense, it ain't God. Because God talks
21:08crazy. He talks stuff that you say ain't
21:11no way. God talks about the impossible
21:14until you believe it's possible. God
21:16will tell you what you don't have, tell
21:18you what you ain't got, and then show
21:20you what he's going to do with nothing.
21:22God will talk to you about multitudes
21:25when you're barren and frustrated. God
21:28will tell you to go into business when
21:30you just bounce the check.
21:34Yeah. [screaming]
21:36God.
21:48Hallelujah.
21:54Surely blessings
21:56I will bless thee and multiply. I sit
22:00down. I'm not there yet. I'm going
22:03multiplying.
22:04I [screaming] will multiply
22:08thee.
22:10And God says, I'm going to give you a
22:13child.
22:15And you know how it is when God says
22:16something we woo.
22:22He doesn't testify
22:24and then it don't happen.
22:32And there's always somebody who writes
22:33the prophecy down
22:37and keeps showing it to you with the
22:39date on it.
22:44And every time you're really depressed,
22:46they show you how long it's been.
22:51And so Abraham thought, I I must cover
22:53for God. So, uh, since God hadn't done
22:57anything and I got a servant in my house
23:00named Elezer, if if he had a child in my
23:05house, then legally it would count as
23:07though it were a child born of my house.
23:10And maybe that's what God meant. And it
23:12would be just about like it was my
23:13child. In a way, it would be the
23:16prophecy come to pass.
23:20Sort of. It would be the fulfillment.
23:22And then nobody could say that God was a
23:24liar. And so I'm going maybe if I see
23:28God doesn't need you to fix up nothing
23:30to get him off the hook. If he said it,
23:34he'll bring it to pass. If he said he's
23:37going to bless you, wait on him. He may
23:39not come when you want him.
23:44Hallelujah.
23:49And God says, "No, man. I don't need you
23:52to get me off the hook.
23:54Your blessing is going to come through
23:56your loins.
24:00Put your hand on your stomach and say,
24:01"It's going to come through me."
24:06That's why it don't matter who comes and
24:08who goes and who leaves me and who don't
24:10like me, who denies me and who says
24:11they're not with me. It don't really
24:13make no difference.
24:16Come through me. He told me and it's
24:18going to come through me.
24:22Oh, yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. God said,
24:24"I'm going to do it through you." And
24:27so, here comes here comes Sarah. Now,
24:30now Sarah is tough for me to preach.
24:35She's kind of hard cuz I've been I've
24:37been preaching a lot of women's
24:39conferences and studying the mentality
24:43of women. But Sarah baffles me. I don't
24:45bother her too much. That don't bother
24:48her too much cuz that girl is out of
24:49character.
24:52She walks up to Abraham and says,
24:55"Honey,
24:57uh I know it's been a long time and the
25:01Lord hasn't blessed us with any children
25:05and I'm barren, but uh I brought a
25:08little maid back with me
25:11and uh I've been thinking
25:19I mean, I'm secure.
25:23Uh, I don't mind if you start like
25:26spending off nights.
25:30Now, it's hard for me to preach this
25:32because I have never met this kind of
25:34woman, but the Bible says it's in the
25:37book, so it's got to be right.
25:40[applause]
25:43Can you imagine your wife said, "You
25:44know, you know, honey, I got a
25:46girlfriend, you know, and
25:49yeah, I really don't mind if you just,
25:52you know, take her camping with you for
25:54a little weekend excursion."
26:00Hagar is the first surrogate mother
26:07>> and they didn't have artificial
26:08insemination.
26:16Ain't that a mess?
26:19>> And so here here this woman says to
26:23Abraham, "Go ahead and I'm going to let
26:26her like fill in for me,
26:29you know, and she can have the child in
26:33mystead."
26:37And so Abraham goes in
26:41to Hagar's room
26:44and starts spending the night or nights
26:49or weekends or weeks
26:53or months or seasons
26:58in this other babe's room, you know. Now
27:00this this this is you should read your
27:02Bible. I mean this you you cut them soap
27:05poppers off and check out this book. It
27:07is some stuff going on in this book.
27:16This is this is this is something and
27:18then and and no no
27:20there she is
27:24and Abraham's
27:25Let's Can you imagine what it would be
27:27like all of a sudden Abraham is carrying
27:30water for said that's too heavy for you
27:35said I'll fix this for you cuz you know
27:37how men are when we like somebody we
27:38want to fix everything I'm just fixing
27:41her steps
27:43don't know a saw from a hammer and you
27:44going to fix
27:53And all of a sudden, Hagga gets all the
27:56preferential treatment that goes into
27:58that kind of relationship because they
28:00have spent so much time together. And no
28:02doubt they're getting very close and
28:04very affectionate and very intimate. And
28:06all of a sudden, Hagos with child.
28:10And you know how women are when they get
28:12with child. They tell, "Put your hand
28:14right here.
28:18Can you feel there? That can
28:24you imagine Sarah sitting over in the
28:26corner saying, "Ain't this a trip?"
28:35But those are the kinds of decisions we
28:37make when we think that God is not going
28:38to bless us.
28:42When we start making arrangements for
28:44God because he didn't do what you
28:46thought he was going to do when you
28:47thought he was going to do it. Now you
28:49going to come up with this little
28:50raggedy plan to come up for God because
28:52he didn't send you a husband when you
28:54thought you was going to get her. Ow.
28:56You just going to grab anything that's
28:57got Levis on.
29:07And all of a sudden, Hagar's going
29:08through all of the changes and all of
29:11the morning sicknesses and the swollen
29:13ankles and the mask on her face and the
29:15nausea and all of the things that goes
29:18along with pregnancy. And then, oops,
29:21there it is.
29:27Ismael Abraham has got his son
29:32>> and they're bouncing him on the news.
29:33Oh, look at look at look at God.
29:40Look at your mama's eyes.
29:42Got grandma B. That's your grandmother.
29:45Have I saw that?
29:49And Sarah has nothing invested in it.
30:01>> I'm impressed with [screaming] Sarah Oak
30:03because she put up with it. She had to
30:04be a bad babe. No, no wonder she she
30:07gets in the hallmark of faith because
30:08any woman who can live with this has got
30:10to be like awesome.
30:15She was all right
30:17until
30:19God blessed her
30:24>> and all of a sudden the whole thing
30:27turned around.
30:29>> You be careful because God has a way of
30:32turning everything around. the person
30:35who is down today, before you put your
30:38foot on them, you better hold your knee
30:40in the air because God has a way of
30:43turning things around. Ain't it crazy
30:45how God blessed you when other folk
30:48thought you wasn't going to ever be
30:49blessed and they were giggling and
30:51making fun of you. He didn't come when
30:53you wanted him to come. But ain't it
30:54crazy how he'll come just when they
30:56thought you wasn't going to be blessed.
30:58God will
31:01hallelujah. He'll bless you anyway.
31:05>> [applause]
31:07>> Now all of a sudden Sarah's talking
31:09about Abraham, put your hand
31:16and Sarah's going through morning
31:18sicknesses and he's fixing her steps and
31:19carrying her water and she's saying,
31:21"See,
31:24see, that's why some of us are shouting
31:26right now cuz we went through a period
31:28of time that it looked like we weren't
31:30going to be blessed
31:32and we were going through a struggle and
31:33a season of distress and all hell was
31:35coming against her and the demon said
31:37you're never going to get out. And when
31:39God raises you up like that, you have
31:41got to praise him. I mean, you can't
31:43help it. It'll make you mess up your
31:45makeup. It'll make you sweat up a brand
31:47new suit. When God brings you out by his
31:50right hand and his holy arm, [screaming]
31:52it will make you break out in a Holy
31:54Ghost war. It'll make you shout. I don't
31:57care who's looking at you. When you
31:59suffered and cried and been in trouble
32:01and didn't know who to talk to and God,
32:05turn the whole thing around.
32:08Hallelujah.
32:12I got to praise him. Hallelujah. Three
32:15people tell him, "I got to praise the
32:17Lord." No need of you getting mad at me.
32:19I got to praise him. No need of you
32:21getting upset. I got to praise him. I'm
32:23not showing off. I'm not putting on. I
32:24got to praise him when I think of what
32:26he did for me. I got to praise him. I
32:28thought I wasn't going to make it and he
32:29blessed me the way I
32:40lift your hands and open your mouth and
32:41begin to praise him.
32:45I feel God getting ready to turn some
32:46things around for you. I feel God
32:48getting ready to bring you out. Begin to
32:50praise him. I feel God getting ready to
32:52bless in your mouth.
33:11It's coming. It's coming. It's coming.

33:14It's coming. It's coming. It's coming.
33:16It's coming. It's coming. It's coming.
33:17It's coming. It's coming. The thing
33:19you've been waiting on, the thing you've
33:20been praying for. I know you've been in
33:21a struggle, but God is going to remember
33:23you. He's going to raise you up and
33:25you're not going to get a breath.
34:05Grab somebody by the hand who believes
34:06God and say, "Neighbor,
34:08I don't care what the devil says.
34:11I know in my spirit
34:14something is about to happen in my life.
34:17Give him a praise.
34:31Yeah.
34:34Heat.
34:41[music]

35:14Woo!
35:21Somebody and look at him and say,
35:22"Neighbor,
35:24I said, get ready. Get ready. Get ready.

36:13anointing of the Holy Ghost in this.

36:24chasing power coming in this place. The
36:29power of the living God is here right

36:50Sarah.
37:02He blessed her anyhow.
37:04He blessed her in spite of when the odds
37:08were against her.
37:10>> She wasn't just buried. She was past
37:13childbearing age. And Abraham's body was
37:16dead. And God said, "Now I'm ready to
37:20bless you. So that when I bless you now,
37:23you won't have nobody to praise but me.
37:26You'll know it was my hand. You'll know
37:28it was my holy arms that got you and you
37:32and you and you.
37:35Yeah.

38:04This is what I want you to get. For a
38:07while,
38:10both children lived in the same house.
38:13This is important.
38:16Isaac and Ishmael
38:19grew up together.
38:23right
38:25and wrong
38:27growing up in the same house. My miracle
38:32and my mistake,
38:42the wheat and the te, they both
38:47grew up together.
38:51Ain't it funny how things can be so good
38:55over here
38:58>> and then you look over here and there's
38:59something real bad over there
39:03at a [clears throat] moment that God is
39:05blessing your life. so much blessing
39:08that other people are jealous of you and
39:10yet they don't know that over on the
39:11other side there's a little problem
39:13that's growing up that's about to over
39:15it crazy how Ismael and Isaac can live
39:18together
39:20in the same house
39:24>> for a Wow.
39:29One day,
39:34one day
39:37Sarah looked out the window
39:39and saw Ishmael
39:42mocking
39:44Isaac.
39:46See, if you don't deal with your
39:48mistakes,
39:51after a while, your mistakes will mock
39:54your miracles.
40:00If you don't deal with your failures,
40:03your failure will make fun of your
40:06success.
40:10Now she's acting like a woman I can
40:12relate to
40:14cuz she said, "Now I didn't say nothing
40:16about the husband thing and I didn't say
40:18anything about the baby, but when you
40:20start fooling with my child," she said,
40:22"you got to go,
40:29devil. We put up with a whole lot of
40:31stuff
40:32and we didn't say anything about your
40:34antics and your attitudes and your this
40:37and your that and the other. But now
40:39that God has blessed us, I refuse to
40:42allow you to send anything in my life
40:46that destroys the blessing that I've
40:48been praying for and waiting on and
40:51asking God to do. I don't know where
40:54you're going, but you're getting out.
41:00Tell somebody tell them it's got to go.
41:03>> You've got to have the courage to
41:05confront your failures. You got to have
41:07the courage to deal with your mistakes.
41:09You can't shout over top of them. You
41:11can't dance over top of them. You can't
41:13just sip and leap and chuck and drink
41:15and not deal with the real issues in
41:17your life. Sooner or later, you have to
41:19confront your mistakes and say, "Enough
41:22is enough. I'm going to clean my househ.
41:25I'm going to clean out my closets. I'm
41:27going to get my act together. I'm going
41:29to straighten up my life. I'm tired of
41:31shouting over my sins and my weaknesses
41:34and my failures. I've got to be right.
41:40[applause]
41:45Just three people. Tell them, "God wants
41:46holiness."
41:48>> They won't get happy, but tell them
41:50anyway, "God wants holiness." I mean,
41:52holiness. Holiness. Absolute holiness.
41:54for what God's about to do in your life.
41:56You can't compromise. You can't straddle
41:58the fence. You got to deal with things
42:00that's been running wild in your life
42:02and tell the devil, "You can't ride no
42:04further. I'm putting you out right here.
42:07I'm not waiting till we get to the
42:08corner and I'm not waiting till we get
42:10to a restaurant. I'm saying that I put
42:13you out of my life tonight.
42:24And so Hagga says, "Put out the bond
42:26woman
42:30and her son.
42:34Get her out of here." A
42:40she's got to go.
42:51But it was easy for hey for for Sarah to
42:54say put her out.
42:57>> Sarah had not spent any nights with
43:01Hagar.
43:09>> She had not held Hagar
43:12in her arms.
43:14She had not listened at Hagar whisper
43:17her secrets and her dreams and her
43:21fears. She had not listened at Hagar
43:23[laughter] at 3:00 in the morning
43:24saying, "I don't want to be a maid
43:26forever. I'm hoping that when this job
43:28is over, I'll be able to get me an
43:30apartment somewhere."
43:33She had not listen and Hagar said, "When
43:35I was a child, I went through so much
43:37abuse and so much tragedy." She had not
43:39held Hagar.
43:41It's easy when it's somebody else's sin
43:46for you to tell them to put it out
43:49because you don't have nothing invested
43:52in it.
43:54Sarah was foolish enough to think that
43:57Abraham could spend time with Hagar and
44:02not become bound to the bond woman.
44:06Now he was
44:09bound
44:11to the bond woman,
44:14a soul tie,
44:19a hookup,
44:22a connection,
44:25a twinkle in their eyes
44:29was not easily broken. Be careful what
44:33you lay down with.
44:39Because you may not be able to get up as
44:42easily as you think.
44:47You can become bound
44:50to the bomb.
44:52Help me preacher Jesus.
44:57>> Hallelujah. [screaming]
44:58Die. He was a man of faith and power,
45:02but he was bound.
45:05to the bond woman. And what of this
45:08child
45:10that he could not deny
45:15it was him
45:19had his his features.
45:23He could not deny
45:26he had been there.
45:31See, there are some things you can get
45:33rid of easily
45:35>> cuz you don't have nothing in it.
45:38>> But there is something that you have to
45:40cry to get rid of.
45:44>> There is something that takes all of
45:45your faith and gut to get right.
45:49>> When you look down and see yourself in
45:51it,
45:52>> it is not easily given up.
45:56And so when Sarah said, "Put out
45:58[screaming]
45:59Abraham did what all men do when you
46:01know your woman is right. He got mad.
46:12I'm grown. I can do what I want to do.
46:14What do you mean put her out? I'm the
46:16one bringing the bread and the butter in
46:17this house. You're the one said bring
46:19her in here in the first place. I'm not
46:20going to do it. I'll do it. God said
46:22shut up, Abraham.
46:25Sometimes it takes God to make you shut
46:28up.
46:31>> God said, "Hearken to the voice of your
46:33wife."
46:37>> God said, "The woman is right.
46:45Get rid of her
46:50and her child.
46:55But then God said something that was
46:58softer than Sarah could ever be.
47:02>> He says, "I know you love
47:06Ismael
47:08and I know that you're bound to the bond
47:11woman.
47:15But because of the blessing
47:18that I have for you,
47:22you have got to put her away.
47:30God is not going to let you get by with
47:33even what you saw other people get by
47:35with because of the blessing that is on
47:39your life. You have got to deal with it.
47:43We're talking about what other people
47:44are doing and what you heard about
47:46somebody else and what you think is
47:48going on in some other church. God said
47:50that's not you.
47:55[applause]
47:57And God says,
48:00"Your seed will not be blessed to
48:04put him and her away." And now the text
48:11zeros in
48:13on the bar mispa of praise.
48:19For we see a wroth man
48:23humble down at the voice of a loving God
48:28and go back in the house and begin to
48:32pack a lunch,
48:35a little bread,
48:37a cruise of water,
48:41and to prepare
48:44to let go of what he had once held.
48:52He looks
48:54at Hagar
48:56and his little baby boy.
49:03She's so sweet. She helped me through a
49:06bad time in my life.
49:10Look at him. He looks
49:12like
49:14me.
49:21I want to stay with you.
49:24I want to keep things just like it was.
49:34But he is calling me.
49:39I cannot deny
49:42that I love you.
49:44And I cannot deny that you are my
49:49mistake.
49:52And I cannot deny that I have feelings
49:54for you.
49:56But as much as I love you,
49:59I love him more.
50:09>> [applause]
50:11>> And this is
50:14the sacrifice
50:17of praise.
50:20When you can walk away
50:23from something you thought you had to
50:25have
50:28and say, "God,
50:31I love you more.
50:39I love you, Lord.
50:44>> I'm hurting, but I'm coming.
50:51>> I'll see you.
50:54>> I will never forget you.
50:57I'll probably think about you from time
50:59to time.
51:01Sometimes I'll have to wipe the tears
51:04out of my eyes,
51:06but I am going with them.
51:10I'll have flashbacks.
51:12I'll have memories. I'll have some bad
51:15nights, but I'm turning my back on and
51:19I'm going to be with him. Here I come,
51:24Lord. I'm wounded, but I'm coming.
51:28I'm crying, but I'm coming. I'm hurting,
51:33but I'm coming. I'm going to need you to
51:36strengthen me, but I'm coming. I'll have
51:39to praise you more than other people do.
51:41I'll have to pray harder than other
51:43people pray. I'll have to reach higher
51:46than they reach. Help me, Lord. I'm
51:48hurting, but I'm I'm coming.
51:55This is
51:58the sacrifice
52:01of praise
52:03when you have left something behind you
52:07to walk with him.
52:10And every time you think about it, you
52:14say, "Lord, I can't deny
52:17that I used to be there,
52:19>> but I can't stay there anymore.
52:23because you are calling me.
52:28>> If you want to know what makes the
52:31person next to you shout when the music
52:34has stopped.
52:36If you want to know what makes mascara
52:39run into roots, if you want to know what
52:42makes them spend all kind of money to
52:43get their hair done and then shake it
52:45out in the presence of God, then you
52:48must understand
52:50the sacrifice
52:54of praise. If you want to understand
52:57what makes a person radically worship
52:59God, even when they're getting on other
53:01people's nerves, nobody wants to be
53:04bothered with you. Look out in the
53:06desert somewhere in the deserts of their
53:10life.
53:12They have left the Hagar.
53:14They have left the Ishmael.
53:17They walked away with the limp. They
53:20wash up harder. They cry longer. They
53:24reach further. They're not fanatical.
53:27They're hurting. They threw away their
53:29crutch and said, "Lord, [screaming] I'm
53:31limping, but I'm coming to you.
53:40Behind every [screaming] hallelujah in
53:44this house there is a sacrifice.
53:48Behind every glory to God there is a
53:51sacrifice. Behind every leaping,
53:53dancing, tongue, talking, blood washed
53:56child of [screaming] God.
54:06How dare you judge my shot? How dare you
54:10tell me it don't take all of that? How
54:13could [screaming] you know what it takes
54:14for me? You don't know what I
54:19Who are you?
54:21victory. If I don't pray, I'll lose my
54:25mind. If I don't pray,
54:29if I don't pray, [cheering]
54:40whether people know it or not, the only
54:43thing that kept some of you out of the
54:45crazy house was a praise. When you were
54:48about to have a nervous breakdown, it
54:51was nothing but a praise. When you were
54:53at the end of your rope, a praise stood
54:57up in your belly and said, "Lord,
55:01I still love you. I'm [screaming] here.
55:05I love you."
55:10Join hands. Form faith chains. Praise
55:13chains.
55:20Don't hook up with nobody who don't want
55:21nothing.
55:24Don't hook up with nobody who's got an
55:26attitude.
55:29Hook up with somebody who's been through
55:31something.
55:34Hook up with somebody who left something
55:35in the desert.
55:39Tonight,
55:40we're going to celebrate.
55:43We're going to celebrate
55:45our survival.
55:47We're going to celebrate that we are
55:49still here. We're going to celebrate
55:53that we could have been there, but the
55:56Lord brought us [screaming] home.
