9. 0:25Wednesday in Weld District Court in
10. 0:26hopes of making a statement that their
11. 0:29son sentencing hearing on Monday

13. 0:37Gao issued an order on Thursday in
14. 0:39response to the motion in it cop Gow
15. 0:44explains that as the paternal
16. 0:45grandparents of Bella and Celeste they
17. 0:48are considered victims under state law
18. 0:50and afforded all of the rights under the
19. 0:52Colorado victims Rights Act
20. 0:57these rights include making a written
21. 0:59and oral victim impact statement
22. 1:01according to the order at the sentencing
23. 1:06hearing scheduled for November 19 2018
24. 1:09this court will afford the paternal
25. 1:11grandparents or their designee an
26. 1:13opportunity to deliver a victim impact
27. 1:15statement on Thursday the welt District
28. 1:21Attorney's Office announced the
29. 1:22sentencing hearing which takes place at
30. 1:2510:00 a.m. Monday has been moved to
31. 1:27division 16 from division 17
32. 1:31overflow will be held in division 17
33. 1:34where our feed will be set up to allow
34. 1:36stragglers to listen to the hearing the
35. 1:41sentencing hearing is scheduled for two
36. 1:43hours it will be followed by 1:00 p.m.

39. 1:53Ronny Watts spoke with Denver 7 by phone
40. 1:55from their home in Spring Lake North
41. 1:57Carolina during the interview they said
42. 2:01their son was not a sociopath nor a
43. 2:03psychopath Cindy and Ronny claimed they
44. 2:09have had little interaction with Chris
45. 2:11since he was arrested in August on
46. 2:13suspicion of killing his pregnant wife
47. 2:15Shannon and their two daughters they
48. 2:20believe his original story that Chris
49. 2:22killed Shannon but only after watching
50. 2:24Shannon strangle the kids to death and
51. 2:26wonder if he was coerced into taking a
52. 2:29plea deal on November 6th as part of
53. 2:35that plea deal which still needs to be
54. 2:37accepted by Judge cop GAO Watts will
55. 2:39serve four consecutive life terms for
56. 2:42the deaths of Shannon Bella Celeste and
57. 2:44to the couple's unborn son Nico the
58. 2:50punishments reflect three charges of
59. 2:52first-degree murder after deliberation
60. 2:54and one count of unlawful termination of
61. 2:56a pregnancy Watts also faces additional
62. 3:01sentences for two more counts of
63. 3:03first-degree murder and three counts of
64. 3:06tampering with a deceased human body
65. 3:09in exchange for the guilty plea well
66. 3:12district attorney michael roark took the
67. 3:14death penalty off the table also on
68. 3:19Monday the court received an email from
69. 3:21aquella almond and assumed
70. 3:23representative for Cindy and Ronny watts
71. 3:27in the letter to judge cop Gao almond
72. 3:30claims the Colorado Public Defender's
73. 3:32Office which is defending Watts has
74. 3:35denied Cindy and Ronny access to their
75. 3:37son Cindy Ronny and an unnamed sister
76. 3:43finally gained access to watts for 30
77. 3:45minutes each the night before the
78. 3:47sentencing hearing
79. 3:48almond claims Cindy asked her son if a
80. 3:54plea deal is what he wanted do not ask
81. 3:59him that or we will shut this expletive
82. 4:01Dam now said an unnamed attorney before
83. 4:03Watts could respond according to
84. 4:05Allman's letter almond said that type of
85. 4:11bullying has been common in the Watts
86. 4:12family's dealings with the public
87. 4:14defender's office
88. 4:17it is the opinion of mr. Watts family
89. 4:20that he has been coerced has been denied
90. 4:22his constitutional rights and more all
91. 4:24in an attempt to quickly close this case
92. 4:27almond wrote they want to have a new
93. 4:31attorney speak to Kris on their behalf
94. 4:34to determine if this is a true
95. 4:35confession or one that is based on
96. 4:38inhumane treatment at the hands of the
97. 4:39public defender's office of wealth
98. 4:41county i'll mine closed the letter by
99. 4:47saying Cindy Watts wanted to speak to
100. 4:48judge cop Gow about her son's case and
101. 4:50possible mistreatment cop Gao issued an
102. 4:56order saying he was barred from having
103. 4:58any conversations about the case outside
104. 5:00of the courtroom attempts to reach the
105. 5:05Watts family and the public defender's
106. 5:07office for comment were unsuccessful as
107. 5:09a Friday afternoon despite the claims
108. 5:15made by almond and by Watts parents the
109. 5:18well District Attorney's Office is
110. 5:20expecting Monday's hearing will take
111. 5:21place as planned said agency spokeswoman
112. 5:24Krista Henery on Friday Nichol Kessinger
113. 5:30Watts girlfriend spoke out for the first
114. 5:32time in an interview with the Denver
115. 5:34Post unlike his parents
116. 5:38Kessinger believes Watts is responsible
117. 5:40for the murders of his family
118. 5:44in the interview Kessinger explains
119. 5:47during their brief two-month
120. 5:48relationship Watts told her he was in
121. 5:51the final stages of divorce proceedings
122. 5:55the two had a physical relationship
123. 5:57seeing each other four to five times per
124. 6:00week at one point what's asked Kessinger
125. 6:05to help him hunt for an apartment that
126. 6:07would be good for him and his daughters
127. 6:11Kessinger became suspicious about what's
128. 6:14home life when on August 13th shannon
129. 6:17bella and Celeste disappeared she asked
130. 6:23what's about it by text message and said
131. 6:25he seemed casual and emotionless about
132. 6:27his family being missing the post
133. 6:29reported the next day
134. 6:33Kessinger called the weld County
135. 6:35Sheriff's Office to tell authorities

138. 6:45same day Watts was arrested a day after
139. 6:52that on August 15th when the bodies of
140. 6:55Shannon Bell and Celeste were discovered
