10. 0:16all or anything like that and then you
11. 0:18just answer the best of your ability if
12. 0:19you don't know you don't know don't
13. 0:20worry about it right okay so what's your
14. 0:22name nicholas scott
15. 0:25nicholas give an idea

18. 0:53so just walk me through
19. 0:57your version of everything from the time
20. 0:59the first time you guys went to the
21. 1:00house
22. 1:01um we went to the house we
23. 1:04went up to the door
24. 1:06and
25. 1:07um
26. 1:08knocked on it it didn't work then we
27. 1:10entered the code the code that we knew
28. 1:13to open the door and then the boat lock
29. 1:15was open
30. 1:16was shut so we kind of opened the door
31. 1:18all the way um we shouted shanann
32. 1:22through the crack of the door
33. 1:24a few times and there was no response
34. 1:26somebody closed it and we went back
35. 1:29and then we pulled mom's car up to the
36. 1:32garage door
37. 1:33so that we could um so i could stand up
38. 1:35to see if her car was on the inside of
39. 1:37it okay
40. 1:39and then um
41. 1:40once we saw that we went back to the
42. 1:42door opened it again
43. 1:44to in the
44. 1:46and then through the small crack we
45. 1:48should have chained a few times okay and
46. 1:50then we called chris
47. 1:53and chris said um
48. 1:55that she was on a playdate
49. 1:58with friends they say that to you or say
50. 2:00that and you just did you hear that or
51. 2:02is that just something that she wasn't
52. 2:04speaking
53. 2:06okay then um
54. 2:10after that um
55. 2:12we called
56. 2:14what mom called one of her friends
57. 2:16and told him what was going on and then
58. 2:19they called chris and chris told them
59. 2:21that she was um
60. 2:24i don't remember where she said she was
61. 2:26but she told he told her something
62. 2:28completely different than what he told
63. 2:29us
64. 2:30okay you remember what that was exactly
65. 2:32what it was and who was that friend i
66. 2:34think it was cassie
67. 2:36is that right
68. 2:38um i think i talked to
69. 2:40addie or it was this one between
70. 2:42shanann's mom but he told schneiderlin
71. 2:44and then when he told kathy and when he
72. 2:46told i believe addie
73. 2:49and then everybody he told different
74. 2:51things and then about
75. 2:53um
76. 2:55about 40 minutes of doing stuff around
77. 2:57the house
78. 2:58what not around the house trying to get
79. 3:00into the house

82. 3:05figured while she's in there and she's
83. 3:07unconscious
84. 3:08uh because i've their limestone off
85. 3:10before when i was dog sitting and it's a
86. 3:12lot of alarm so i
87. 3:14lift up the garage door so to trigger it
88. 3:17and it triggered
89. 3:18and then
90. 3:19was disarmed
91. 3:21okay oh so you looked at the garage door
92. 3:23purposely to
93. 3:24trigger the alarm yes okay
94. 3:27i i lift it up purposely because i
95. 3:29figured if she's asleep and kind of goes
96. 3:31through the door yeah i would definitely
97. 3:33wake her up okay
98. 3:35and then she
99. 3:36bet down at work so then me and mom
100. 3:39uh chris called
101. 3:41us and said to leave the house alone
102. 3:45and also
103. 3:46asked us to not call the cops or kick
104. 3:48the door open or anything you said that
105. 3:49over the phone yes you heard that
106. 3:51yourself yes okay one second
107. 3:54he called back and said that yes
108. 3:57sorry could yes he did okay
109. 4:01and then um after that
110. 4:03um
111. 4:05we proceeded we told uh we told him that
112. 4:08we weren't there because we didn't want
113. 4:09you know because we didn't know what was
114. 4:11going on so we told we weren't there and
115. 4:13we got in the car and went to the
116. 4:15doctor's office
117. 4:16to and we asked if
118. 4:19they could uh tell us if she was there
119. 4:22if she didn't showed up
120. 4:24and
121. 4:26mom told me mom went in and mom came out
122. 4:29and told me that she didn't show up okay
123. 4:32and then so um
124. 4:35we drove back to the house
125. 4:37um
126. 4:39knocked down the door again and opened
127. 4:41it and shouted chin in and their names
128. 4:43to see if they were there
129. 4:45called chris and he said he was already
130. 4:47on his way by this time okay and this
131. 4:49was about an hour ago give or take
132. 4:52and he said he was still an hour out
133. 4:54so then um
134. 4:56um we decided to uh call the police okay
135. 5:00and then your officer arrived
136. 5:02and went around i did everything i did
137. 5:05which is try to find a way into the
138. 5:06house
139. 5:07and
140. 5:08then
141. 5:10we open the door and through this like
142. 5:12crack he
143. 5:14shouted police department if anyone said
144. 5:16no i'm in here please make yourself
145. 5:18known
146. 5:19two times and then close the door
147. 5:22because nobody responded and about 45
148. 5:25minutes later so it took us about two
149. 5:28hours and a half to uh get there
150. 5:30from the first from the first call you
151. 5:32know okay it takes about 30 45 minutes
152. 5:34from this work to get there okay
153. 5:37and then
154. 5:39um
155. 5:40sorry he then um
156. 5:43when he should appeal from the
157. 5:45door
158. 5:46he went to the garage
159. 5:48and opened her car door
160. 5:52for us too like because the police
161. 5:54officer but we all looked at it
162. 5:57and then he instantly booked it inside
163. 5:59the house
164. 6:00ran around the entire house inside and
165. 6:02everything and then opened the front
166. 6:04door and let us all in
167. 6:06okay so officer conrad didn't go in with
168. 6:08him at that point no because he um where
169. 6:11because he said we have a right to
170. 6:12report to him and we can he can't
171. 6:14legally go inside the house unless he
172. 6:16had permission because there was no
173. 6:18signs of there was no signs of a fight
174. 6:22or disturbance for him to be allowed to
175. 6:24enter the home okay
176. 6:28and then
177. 6:29once he came around and opened the front
178. 6:31door for us

180. 6:34chris said he could come in
181. 6:36and then
182. 6:38they all went he they searched the main
183. 6:41floor
184. 6:42um
185. 6:44no they went okay everybody went they
186. 6:47went upstairs
187. 6:49and chris was
188. 6:51about
189. 6:5210 feet ahead of everybody and i
190. 6:53followed them upstairs
191. 6:55and then when i came upstairs i
192. 6:59figured something was up and something
193. 7:00wasn't right so i
194. 7:02instantly went over to the couch and
195. 7:04started moving pillows and i found
196. 7:05shanann's phone on the pellets okay if
197. 7:08it worked over to the couch
198. 7:10it's the first thing that i thought
199. 7:12where would i hide something if it were
200. 7:13missing
201. 7:15and i figured that i had to hide it or
202. 7:17something so i was going to go to the
203. 7:19couch and i was going to go under the
204. 7:21bed and that was going to go looking cc
205. 7:23bells remember everything
206. 7:25okay and the couch was just the closest
207. 7:27thing
208. 7:28so when you found it
209. 7:30under the pillows you said yeah
210. 7:33so we're on the couch okay
211. 7:35um
212. 7:38do me a favor
213. 7:40i mean i know what it looks like i just
214. 7:41want you to
215. 7:42draw the couch for me
216. 7:44and then how it would be situated in the
217. 7:46room you don't have to be an artist but
218. 7:48just put the best here
219. 7:51overhead video so here's there
220. 7:55that's the centerpiece and this is the l
221. 7:57couch

223. 8:00and then
224. 8:01here's where their tv and setup foot and
225. 8:03everything would be sure the stairs will
226. 8:05be here
227. 8:10this would be
228. 8:11cece's room i think it is okay and then
229. 8:14this would be
230. 8:16bella's room
231. 8:17and i came up the stairs from here
232. 8:20and the phone was uh right here
233. 8:23underneath the pillows
234. 8:25okay that were all that are all set up
235. 8:27along the couch
236. 8:29so was it is this laying underneath the
237. 8:31pillow like in between two pillows or it
238. 8:33was it had about maybe three or four
239. 8:36pillows like on top of it like laying
240. 8:38flat they were pushed and positioned
241. 8:41back up to where like like normally they
242. 8:44would normally be
243. 8:46okay
244. 8:47and i moved them and then because i
245. 8:49started just moving them and about once
246. 8:51i got
247. 8:53moved these ones which there was about
248. 8:54two then i got to maybe around here
249. 8:57so maybe a foot into the couch and then
250. 8:59i saw her from the corner of the phone
251. 9:00and i reached out from under the pedal
252. 9:02and grabbed it okay
253. 9:04was it face down or face up
254. 9:06it was you remember facebook please
255. 9:10if you don't know that's okay i don't
256. 9:12know okay
257. 9:13can i add something
258. 9:15the whole weekend she has one of those
259. 9:17little things on this one i don't know
260. 9:18if it's still on there but
261. 9:20you know it was like a clutch so she
262. 9:21could wear it on her wrist because
263. 9:22normally she has one of these on it okay
264. 9:24and it broke or whatever so she had one
265. 9:26too that like when she held it to take
266. 9:28pictures or she dropped it
267. 9:30and i don't remember that being on it
268. 9:32when we did it so
269. 9:33it wasn't on it it was taken off okay
270. 9:36um
271. 9:37would you call it a clutch
272. 9:39like a lanyard
273. 9:44um and then
274. 9:45after i pulled the phone out
275. 9:48and
276. 9:49looked at it and then
277. 9:51um
278. 9:52said i found her phone and
279. 9:55chris said thanks and i remember handing
280. 9:57and chris put his hand down said thanks
281. 9:59because he wanted me to give it to him
282. 10:02and i remember handing it to the officer
283. 10:04and it wouldn't did and the officer
284. 10:06couldn't do anything but so he handed it
285. 10:08to chris
286. 10:09and then
287. 10:10um
288. 10:11the officer asked if he could open it
289. 10:13and figure it and see if she like texted
290. 10:15somebody
291. 10:16if she left and then chris um
292. 10:18didn't know the password was acting like
293. 10:21he didn't and then um
294. 10:24he tried i think it was the baby's
295. 10:26um birthday
296. 10:28dude
297. 10:30and
298. 10:30um it uh
299. 10:32then it opened and he tried that
300. 10:34he did that
301. 10:36and did but did he know that why did he
302. 10:38figure it out or did somebody tell him
303. 10:41it was cassie homophone said try the
304. 10:43baby's birthday
305. 10:44so he was
306. 10:50yeah because they were telling me places
307. 10:52to look for stuff that i may not have
308. 10:53thought of okay
309. 10:55and then um after that i um
310. 10:58they started going through the phone and
311. 11:00um
312. 11:01i didn't want to go through anything
313. 11:02else because if they were somewhere in
314. 11:04the house i didn't want to go through
315. 11:06stuff in front of chris
316. 11:08so i um i went to the basement and i
317. 11:11went through
318. 11:13pretty much i looked under the beds
319. 11:14looked i opened they had like a pantry i
320. 11:17opened that i opened i don't know why
321. 11:19but i opened the regular freezers and i
322. 11:22just opened everything down there that i
323. 11:24could have
324. 11:26thought of yeah and then um
325. 11:28i didn't find anything so i went back
326. 11:30upstairs to the main
327. 11:32um
328. 11:34the main floor and i looked around and
329. 11:35there was nothing and they all came
330. 11:37downstairs and then i went upstairs and
331. 11:40um
332. 11:41pretty much look i looked in all the
333. 11:43closets the rooms under the beds um the
334. 11:46restrooms pretty much everything didn't
335. 11:48see anything yeah did you want your
336. 11:50bedroom i did okay see anything in there
337. 11:52at all um
338. 11:54the bed was stripped which
339. 11:56mattered because i babysat the kid's eye
340. 11:59dog sat for him
341. 12:01and everything and that that i've never
342. 12:03seen not have stuff on it it's always
343. 12:06had okay she's on it
344. 12:09and they've always kept their room in
345. 12:12pretty good shape and the sheets have
346. 12:13never been on the pool and pedals were
347. 12:15never on the floor and when i walked in
348. 12:16there the pillows
349. 12:18what time you were or are the sheets
350. 12:19where
351. 12:20the like the computer

353. 12:38do you remember what the sheets look
354. 12:39like
355. 12:40i think they were
356. 12:41white and
357. 12:43blue striped okay
358. 12:49after that i
359. 12:50uh walked out of the i walked downstairs
360. 12:54and walked out of the house and
361. 12:56i was out by the car for a little bit
362. 12:59and um
363. 13:01the neighbor
364. 13:04excuse me um this neighbor um
365. 13:08came out through his front door and
366. 13:10looked at me and um
367. 13:12he said he has a camera that sees
368. 13:14everything
369. 13:15in their drive through um
370. 13:18thought we'd like to come look at it and
371. 13:20i said yeah so i went over there and
372. 13:22looked at
373. 13:23the footage and then we saw chris's
374. 13:25truck back up to the garage to where he
375. 13:28kind of see the back of the truck
376. 13:31and uh let me back up real quick
377. 13:34[Music]
378. 13:43we were both in the backyard and i was
379. 13:45falling out
380. 13:50[Music]
381. 14:00in the backyard looking around and he
382. 14:01asked for him was okay and i said
383. 14:02shanann's missing
384. 14:04and asked to be i asked him if you'd
385. 14:05seen her and he said no which is
386. 14:07something strange
387. 14:11[Music]
388. 14:12that's how he you know what happened
389. 14:16and um
390. 14:17then he said then i don't know what the
391. 14:19conversation was but he uh
392. 14:22we in essence told him what was going on
393. 14:24i did told him what was happening and
394. 14:26then he said okay and then we all pretty
395. 14:28much went back to the front of the house
396. 14:30and waited for chris
397. 14:32and then
398. 14:33after went through and searched and
399. 14:34everything then he told me that he has a
400. 14:37camera that sees everything so we
401. 14:39i believe it was me and the officer went
402. 14:41into the house
403. 14:42and um
404. 14:44went into the neighbor's house and
405. 14:45watched the footage because
406. 14:47at that point i was really curious and
407. 14:49wanted to know what that was happening
408. 14:51because
409. 14:52and
410. 14:54then
411. 14:56we
412. 14:57watched the footage and um chris saw us
413. 14:59go in there so then chris
414. 15:01followed us in
415. 15:03and we had his um as we were watching it
416. 15:05once we saw his truck back up and he was
417. 15:08um
418. 15:09you could tell he was faring something
419. 15:11back and forth to his truck he uh kept
420. 15:13going like this
421. 15:15and getting in front of the uh
422. 15:17[Music]
423. 15:18the view of the tv to try and prevent it
424. 15:21looked like he was trying to prevent me
425. 15:23and the
426. 15:24officer from seeing the upper left
427. 15:26corner of the screen
428. 15:28and um
429. 15:29almost praying for me because i had to
430. 15:31move over about a foot and look over the
431. 15:33officer's shoulder to see what was
432. 15:34happening because he kept moving over so
433. 15:36i couldn't see it
434. 15:38okay and then um
435. 15:40after watching that we walked that i
436. 15:42walked out and the officer watched a few
437. 15:44more times and called you
438. 15:47and um then mom walked in and watched it
439. 15:49and i went outside with uh madison that
440. 15:52baby and um
441. 15:56then um after that um
442. 15:59you showed up and then
443. 16:02that was um i went back in and with the
444. 16:04tape a few more times
445. 16:06and then we um
446. 16:09then i went the neighbor looked at me
447. 16:10and told me to go inside and see like
448. 16:12look carefully for anything that's like
449. 16:14been combed or any like red spots or
450. 16:17anything in case something did happen
451. 16:19so i went inside and looked around and
452. 16:21that's when i came back out to you and
453. 16:23said that i
454. 16:24um
455. 16:25thought i saw that
456. 16:27plan yeah right on the plan yeah
457. 16:30and
458. 16:32then
459. 16:33after that
460. 16:35i believe you and the officer went in
461. 16:38with chris and looked around for a
462. 16:40little bit and then um
463. 16:44i believe after that it's a little
464. 16:46blurred my father i think after that you
465. 16:49came out and said that
466. 16:50you guys will investigate it and then we
467. 16:54mean
468. 16:55me mom and uh madison i put madison or
469. 16:58car seat and we all got in the car and
470. 16:59left and then
471. 17:01um sandy's mom
472. 17:03i mean not sandy's mom shannon's mom
473. 17:05sandy yeah
474. 17:07um carl nicki and asked for uh nikki to
475. 17:10go back and give
476. 17:12the neighbor
477. 17:14frank's phone number
478. 17:17which uh we then drove back and did
479. 17:20and um
480. 17:22and then uh after she did that
481. 17:24um she came back to the car and uh we
482. 17:27all got in the car we left i went home
483. 17:29and
484. 17:30like
485. 17:31okay okay very good um
486. 17:34that's good and detailed i appreciate
487. 17:36that

489. 17:38did it seem like chris
490. 17:40did did he it seemed like to you or he
491. 17:42didn't even have prior knowledge either
492. 17:44one of you at this point um that he knew
493. 17:46that camera was there yeah yeah before
494. 17:49before that day so he was very well
495. 17:51aware of the camera yeah
496. 17:52i didn't know i had no idea the camera
497. 17:54was there he finally admitted that the
498. 17:56camera was there too if he knew it was
499. 17:58there because he said uh to the guy that
500. 18:00he uh
501. 18:02would ask the neighbor a lot to look at
502. 18:04the footage because to see if somebody
503. 18:07was trying to break into this prior
504. 18:09prior to that okay
505. 18:12okay
506. 18:14so you get the camera there okay
507. 18:18all right so there's a lot of the stuff
508. 18:20i already know i just
509. 18:21need you to say it you know so i'm
510. 18:23probably getting used to this but this
511. 18:25one i'm sure you are
512. 18:36okay very good so
513. 18:40that's a good recount of what happened
514. 18:41that um
515. 18:43keeps me from asking a lot of questions
516. 18:45because
517. 18:46it's pretty counted can you do me a
518. 18:48favor and just sign and date that for me
519. 18:54i always smoke because they don't teach
520. 18:55them how they don't signature another

564. 21:05happens taking off in arizona and the
565. 21:07top seat of the airplane was taking off
566. 21:09and then we landed in denver
567. 21:10and then me leaving the guy united
568. 21:12driving to her house i don't know if
569. 21:13that makes a
570. 21:15um i think we've got we got that on film
571. 21:18when you left when you dropped her off
572. 21:20absolutely but

574. 21:23and then it just then it shows when you
575. 21:24came back to the house the next day and
576. 21:26all that yeah it shows you the doctor's
577. 21:28office everything okay absolutely then
578. 21:31is there any way you can download that
579. 21:32or how does that work
580. 21:34so i can't sit here i kept bothering her
581. 21:36and saying mother do you have something
582. 21:38that attracts you of where you meant
583. 21:39that i can't take
584. 21:41okay you can email those to me i know

588. 21:49think whenever it's convenient for you

592. 21:54timeline down but that definitely
593. 21:56confirms it and especially the doctor
594. 21:57and everything else so it can't hurt
595. 22:00so i'm actually at the point of putting
596. 22:03together a very detailed timeline of
597. 22:05everything so
598. 22:06okay and my name i i got married july
599. 22:084th and we knew we were getting going on
600. 22:11this dress and i didn't want to deal
601. 22:12with the hole no no i get it so my name
602. 22:14is yeah okay yeah okay

607. 22:31it's like a breadcrumb tracking
608. 22:33basically kind of it's we do it because
609. 22:36i my husband has a hard time telling me

612. 22:43where it pains when i get to work and
613. 22:44when my husband gets to work or when
614. 22:46we're leaving
615. 22:48playing with it so that he knows they're
616. 22:51on the way home i need to stop doing
617. 22:52whatever i'm doing
618. 22:55wow you're starting to catch on to what
619. 22:56i shot so many parameters

635. 23:38so i mean autopsies will show that
636. 23:40wasn't that like timeline
637. 23:42i can't speak to anything with about the
638. 23:44autopsy at all well no i know but that
639. 23:46should autopsies don't necessarily give
640. 23:49you a timeline
641. 23:51um
642. 23:53it didn't give you a causal manner yeah

648. 24:10and obviously we won't have those
649. 24:11results for quite some time you know the
650. 24:13reports and
651. 24:14those always take a little while
652. 24:16because doctors they
653. 24:18literally
654. 24:20dissect the information that they got
655. 24:22you know obtained right before they
656. 24:24report on it to get
657. 24:25as positive or as close to positive as
658. 24:28they can

660. 24:30but um things will come out and watch
661. 24:32there's always
662. 24:34people always you know
663. 24:37and what do we i mean i know it's just a
664. 24:39waiting game now
665. 24:40but is there anything we can do for the
666. 24:42police department

670. 24:48look at it so
671. 24:50um i i can tell you personally
672. 24:52i knew
673. 24:54something was really wrong when i went
674. 24:56out there and started officer coonrod
675. 24:57which is why he called me
676. 24:59and it's just a matter of you have to
677. 25:01you have to do certain things
678. 25:04and check off certain things before you
679. 25:06do anything you know
680. 25:07and then and there that that was
681. 25:10i mean i i did too i just didn't want to
682. 25:26or you know maybe this could have
683. 25:28happened you know she just got this news
684. 25:30so did she
685. 25:32take off just to mess with his head or
686. 25:35you know what i mean we have to kick off
687. 25:36all that so that night that's why we had
688. 25:38to we're sure or did she go on the field
689. 25:40are we looking at murder suicide
690. 25:42you know
691. 25:43people have done crazy things
692. 25:45so we put a drone in the air that night
693. 25:47check all the fields in the area we had
694. 25:49all the canvas out and then that night
695. 25:54i already made the decision that if she

792. 29:10somebody that posted something some
793. 29:11article and they said they were
794. 29:12apologizing because they're like now
795. 29:14that we know more of the facts
796. 29:15this wasn't what we didn't we misquoted
797. 29:18and that they had retracted it my issue
798. 29:20was on what was it friday night some of
799. 29:22the pictures they were posting was my
800. 29:24daughter in bella not melanche like i
801. 29:26know that's a silly thing but
802. 29:28yeah that's my daughter

804. 29:34yeah and i called him and said can you
805. 29:36please take that picture off of your
806. 29:37news article because that is
807. 29:40bella and my daughter what's a channel
808. 29:42that um that was fox 59 and then
809. 29:46i don't know chat was it channel 7
810. 29:48yeah and they they did they they took it
811. 29:51down but i was like that's not okay like
812. 29:54you're using pictures with people you
813. 29:56don't even know anything about
814. 29:58it's a really hard way to learn
815. 30:00the lack of integrity in my opinion of
816. 30:03the media that you're seeing firsthand
817. 30:05so yeah
