- 0:06hello my name is Aya I'm in grade nine
- 0:09and my question for you is do astronauts
- 0:11ever get sick or ill aboard the
- 0:17ISS Aya when we first get to space we
- 0:19feel sick your body's really confused
- 0:22and so you know you're dizzy your your
- 0:25lunch is floating around in your belly
- 0:27cuz you're floating and and you're what
- 0:30you see doesn't match what you feel so
- 0:32you want to throw up so how do you throw
- 0:34up if you get sick in space Oh the sun's
- 0:37starting to come up um so here's an
- 0:40astronaut barf bag right here so let's
- 0:43say you're about to throw up in space
- 0:44quick you get your barf bag
- 0:47open and now think about what happens on
- 0:50earth when you throw
- 0:52up now that'll be okay you uh you throw
- 0:55up and you have a bag of something
- 0:57horrible and then you throw it away but
- 0:59in Sp
- 1:00if I throw up in this bag what am I
- 1:02going to do with it this bag has to stay
- 1:04with me in space for months so we want a
- 1:07really good barf bag so we have one that
- 1:10uh that will really protect us and this
- 1:12one has a
- 1:14uh has a liner in it so that when you
- 1:17throw up into it so that when you throw
- 1:19up into it you
- 1:22can clean your face off and then you can
- 1:25push everything inside and then it comes
- 1:27with its own zip lock to clean put
- 1:29inside the zip block and then you can
- 1:30throw it down into the wet trash so yes
- 1:32astronauts do occasionally get sick in
- 1:34space but um we have special uh barf
- 1:38bags to deal with it I'm just going to
- 1:40close the shutter because it gets a
- 1:41little bright behind me next question
