- 0:00All right, party people. It's finally
- 0:01here. Open AI working on chat GPT tools
- 0:05for business for analytics and
- 0:07citations. This was just dropped less
- 0:10than 2 hours ago on search engine
- 0:12roundtable. I'm recording this November
- 0:146th. It'll come out tomorrow. This says
- 0:16OpenAI is developing a search console or
- 0:19web master tools like tool that lets
- 0:22businesses manage and track their
- 0:24success on chatpt. This tool will let
- 0:27you quote unquote claim your business in
- 0:29Chat JPT. By the way, this is the first
- 0:31time I'm reading this, too. I'm very
- 0:33excited. This will allow businesses to
- 0:35see how your business shows up, track
- 0:37how often your business is mentioned in
- 0:39chat GPT conversations, show customers
- 0:42what you offer, add your latest
- 0:44products, and keep your business info up
- 0:46to date. That's great. That's so useful,
- 0:49especially now because there's so many
- 0:51AI slop sites that are using AI to
- 0:55describe businesses and they get it
- 0:57wrong. And so so many businesses are
- 0:58being described improperly across the
- 1:00internet by AI that is hallucinating.
- 1:03And then this Google search console like
- 1:05clone for ChachiPT, it's probably not
- 1:07going to be a clone. It's probably
- 1:08really going to be feature light. It'll
- 1:11help customers make decisions. Let your
- 1:13business agent answer their questions
- 1:15with context you control. Wow. Wow.
- 1:19That's crazy. I can imagine there's just
- 1:23an area within this tool where you write
- 1:26as much about your business, about its
- 1:28products and services and pricing and
- 1:30reviews and everything. Just write as
- 1:33much as you can and the AI will draw off
- 1:35of that. This was spotted and posted on
- 1:38LinkedIn by Huas Cassie and Cuss who
- 1:41wrote, "ChachiPT is building an
- 1:43analytics tool to track how often your
- 1:45business is mentioned in chatt
- 1:47conversations." He added, "This measures
- 1:50both impressions and clicks, number of
- 1:52times a business appeared in chatpt
- 1:54responses and number of clicks on links
- 1:56to their website." It's very
- 1:57interesting, too, because even Google
- 1:59Search Console doesn't tell you how many
- 2:01clicks you're getting from AI overviews,
- 2:03and they likely won't anytime soon. Gary
- 2:05Eish even said that in another search
- 2:08engine roundtable article just a couple
- 2:10days ago. Gary Eish implies click data
- 2:13not coming to Google search console AI
- 2:15reporting. So this chatpt organic
- 2:18analytics tool might give you that it
- 2:20tracks those events daily and shows them
- 2:23as a chart. The feature is a work in
- 2:25progress and I saw its first steps as
- 2:27early as August. It seems to be getting
- 2:29close to launch because today I saw this
- 2:32screenshot banner. So, we see the
- 2:34screenshot. Claim your business in chat
- 2:36GPT. Unlock your business agent and more
- 2:38ways to manage how your business shows
- 2:40up. Track how often your business is
- 2:42mentioned in conversations. Add your
- 2:45latest products and keep your business
- 2:47info up to date. Let your business agent
- 2:49answer their questions with context you
- 2:51control. And then you verify that you're
- 2:53authorized to represent your business.
- 2:55Wow. This LinkedIn post continues, "This
- 2:58is part of a larger business hub feature
- 3:00and only available to businesses that
- 3:02have verified their ownership, for
- 3:04example, by connecting their Shopify
- 3:06store. The search engine roundtable
- 3:07article finishes. It does not show
- 3:09prompt data, user data, or any kind of
- 3:12competition benchmark or ranking," Was
- 3:14explained. So, it won't help
- 3:16understanding why mentions/clicks are
- 3:18increasing or decreasing. But combined
- 3:21with external tools that track prompts,
- 3:23it will show accurate firstparty data.
- 3:25if go/ AEO strategies are working, he
- 3:28added. But honestly, if this is real, I
- 3:30wouldn't be surprised if information
- 3:31like that comes in the future. That's
- 3:33how any software starts. It starts small
- 3:35and then you add features depending on
- 3:38what is useful and what people want.
- 3:40Also, this could be a step to chat GPT
- 3:43having some sort of honeypot in order to
- 3:46catch spammers. And we saw this with
- 3:48Google Search Console and Google's
- 3:50disavow tool. When the disavow tool was
- 3:52first released, people were using it to
- 3:54disavow their bad links. Maybe that they
- 3:56themselves had built because they were
- 3:58so afraid that they were going to get
- 4:00hit. And so they gave Google all this
- 4:02data about what bad links actually look
- 4:04like, what PBNs look like. As a result,
- 4:07Google got a lot better at catching
- 4:09people who weren't using the disavow
- 4:11tool because the people who were using
- 4:13it were so scared. And so by having a
- 4:15search console type tool that you
- 4:17control, you can think of creative
- 4:20features like this that gets brands to
- 4:22report their own spam. So Open AI gets
- 4:25better at identifying it or learning the
- 4:27tactics that people are using. But at
- 4:29the very least, the fact that you can
- 4:31describe your business and give an
- 4:33accurate source, that's great. And I can
- 4:36imagine that you're going to want to
- 4:38write as much as possible. You might
- 4:40even use keywords in there because
- 4:42you've done keyword research. You know
- 4:44the bottom offunnel ways that people are
- 4:46searching for what your brand does and
- 4:48so you use those because you know that
- 4:50those are likely to be used in query
- 4:52fanouts and you use those when
- 4:54describing your brand to this tool. It
- 4:56might be something like chachi pt still
- 4:58starts with a search with a query fan
- 5:00out. When your brand comes up, it sees
- 5:03if it has anything in this internal
- 5:05database from your brand that it can
- 5:08rely on better than trying to find
- 5:10descriptions of your brand across the
- 5:12internet. And it maybe if it's reviews,
- 5:14then it'll still go and look for
- 5:15third-party reviews. But if it's how the
- 5:18brand describes itself, what the brand
- 5:20offers, it'll pull from the data that it
- 5:22has available within this tool. There
- 5:24are so many different possibilities. And
- 5:26again, the person who shared this said
- 5:27it seems to be getting close to launch.
- 5:30So, we'll see how this goes. Really
- 5:32exciting. One more thing. Does this mean
- 5:34that companies who use this are going to
- 5:36get more visibility within Chacha PT?
- 5:39Maybe a little bit, but I would still
- 5:41predict it's not going to be that much.
- 5:43Not for the foreseeable future at least.
- 5:46That would make it too easy to spam. But
- 5:48at least your brand will be described
- 5:50more accurately. or if you're using the
- 5:52right descriptions, it is possible that
- 5:54you would be mentioned in situations
- 5:56where you wouldn't normally be
- 5:58mentioned. But I still don't think it'll
- 6:00make a tremendous difference in how much
- 6:02visibility you get in large language
- 6:04models. You know what's going to
- 6:05continue to make a difference? It's how
- 6:07your brand appears across the internet.
- 6:09Is your brand coming up for the query
- 6:11fanouts that Chacht is doing? Are people
- 6:14finding your brand, using your brand,
- 6:17and recommending your brand on UGC
- 6:19platforms? So my advice obviously we're
- 6:21going to see what happens with this new
- 6:24search console like tool but keep
- 6:25targeting high intent queries that you
- 6:28know searchers are doing. Target them
- 6:30with confident conversionbased SEO
- 6:33landing pages. Put these landing pages
- 6:35in a hub page. Link that hub page in
- 6:37your footer. Maybe build links to the
- 6:39hub page. Target review keywords. Target
- 6:42pricing keywords. Target competitor
- 6:44keywords. Target competitor alternative
- 6:46keywords. Comparison keywords. target
- 6:48situation keywords where people have a
- 6:51specific situation that your brand would
- 6:53address. They just don't know that your
- 6:54brand exists and so they're searching
- 6:56trying to have this situation satisfied
- 6:59and then your brand is the one that
- 7:01comes up and they say, "Wow, this is
- 7:02exactly what I'm looking for. I'm so
- 7:03happy that this brand learned SEO from
- 7:06Edward Sterm." That's what they're going
- 7:07to say. So, if you want to learn how to
- 7:08do that, you can learn it at
- 7:10compactkeywords.com.
- 7:11This is episode 1,221
